The official line-up for the 2007 edition of the Family Values Tour has been announced. The tour, which will be co-headlined by Korn and Evanescence, will also feature Atreyu, Flyleaf, Trivium and Hellyeah. Talk of Aiden being on the tour was apparently premature and rumors of Lamb of God and Sevendust being on the tour had already been shot down.

Davis, Korn guitarist Munky, Vinnie and Atreyu singer Alex Varkatzas announced the tour on VirtualMTV.com in what was billed as the F--- the Press Press Conference, a virtual world open to fans and set up specifically to discuss the Family Values Tour.

An itinerary for 2007 has yet to be released, but the tour will hit the following cities:

Minneapolis, MN Chicago, IL Columbus, OH Camden, NJ Boston, MA Washington, DC Hartford, CT Buffalo, NY Detroit, MI Toronto, ON Pittsburgh, PA Scranton, PA East Rutherford, NJ Indianapolis, IN Atlanta, GA Orlando, FL Miami, FL Tampa, FL Dallas, TX Houston, TX San Antonio, TX Oklahoma City, OK Kansas City, MO Denver, CO Albuquerque, NM Phoenix, AZ Bakersfield, CA Sacramento, CA San Francisco, CA Irvine, CA

5. 6-Wretched-6-Soul-6 writes:

Zero 54 go f*** yourself

i can pass my opinions if i wish

i wasn't abusing anyone who said they liked this tour did i?

insecure prick!

6. lurn-yo-abcs writes:

awesome line up! i dunno who the f*** hellyeah is but the others sound sweet! i've already seen ev in concert and they definetly kick major ass! i'll be at the okc show for sure!

7. Nu_Metal writes:

HELL YEAH!!!!!!!

8. Nu_Metal writes:

For those that don't know.

Mudvayne, 1/4 Pantera and Damageplan (Vinnie), and Nothingface :)

9. Sac-Town writes:

This concert will be great..Goth with some metal. Can't wait to see the Sac Show.

10. ArchNemesis28 writes:

WOW! Another gay emo tour. I'm so glad there are not coming to the northwest!

11. Hell Yeah writes:

Everyone put down last years tour and said it was emo and it sucked but it turned out to be the best festival and very succesful. So most of your opinions mean nothing at all.

12. 6-Wretched-6-Soul-6 writes:

ArchNemesis28 im with you on that arguement.

im in the UK so i don't even have a remote of hearing this sh** crap excuse for music...

13. 6-Wretched-6-Soul-6 writes:

Hell Yeah our opinions may not mean anything but we are still entitled to them...

14. ArchEnemy84 writes:

This tour is worse than last year's Ozzfest! Are you f***ing kidding me? KORN headling? No thank you. Trivium just f***ing blows. And Atreyu are awful. Yup, this tour might just be the WORST tour for the summer.

15. BAMF1088 writes:

dude its korn's tour you nutsac thats why there headlining! i cant f***in wait to see hellyeah (mudvayne/pantera/nothingface supergroup) and trivium is a kickass band. if atreyu plays there older stufff (bleeding mascara, aint love grand, etc.) it should kickass. but there new cd blows

16. NM writes:

if its $9.99 again I 'll go to see HELLYEAH!

17. metal2death writes:

this is not a metal concert just to let you guys know. trivium is there. and vinny should take his project off in a different direction

18. ArchEnemy84 writes:

I don't give a f*** if Korn is headlining because it's their tour! Hmm, I think they f***ing suck and so does their "tour."

19. Rusfa writes:

I'll go if they do the 10 dollar lawn seats again, I still want to see korn, I've heard from friends they're really really good live, so I'd like to check them out, but I really hate the new stuff. trivium I've lost alot of respect for since the last album, but I'm seeing the saturday opening for LAMB OF GOD!!!!!!! so I'll find out what they're like live

20. bassmaster! writes:

not a bad line up I thought it would be worse but HELL YA is f***ing cool it will be the best tour this summer just like last year no matter what u c*** suckers say it will be! KORN ROCKS!

21. mahbawls writes:

id only want to see Hell Yeah, the rest suk

22. 7dustrulesall writes:

I agree with NM and Rusfa, if its $10 I'll go. Just to see Korn and HellYeah. I'll pass on all the other bands.

23. Public Execution writes:

This will not be a good tour. Unless Korn's new cd magically is good, the only good band with a good new cd will be Hell Yeah, although I'm worried about that cd as well. Maybe if Korn would only play old songs, i might consider getting a ticket.

24. edge-of-forever writes:

wow what a gay tour

25. FuckedWithAKnife writes:

wow i would have thought maybe HellYeah would have been better for Ozzfest! This tour is going to suck HellYeah are the only decent band on this bill (only because of Vinne though) Trivum suck so much balls i dont even know where to begin, Flyleaf? emo! , Atreyu...wow that just brings this "tour" (if you want to call it that, i would call it more of a gong show) to a whole new low, Evanescence? sweet i guess they have to be the worst band ever, and Korn, who i can respect, but do not like at all. This is the sh**tiest tour ever!

26. BodomBastard writes:

well thats going to suck ass... what a sh**ty line up! korn is dead!

27. Zach B writes:

KORN needs to come to Omaha Nebraska Qwest Center

28. brandedcfh420 writes:

VINNIE, if u read this post...come to your senses and drop HELL YEAH off the line=up...IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!....DONT GET THROWN INTO THE MIX WITH THESE CRAP A$$ BANDS....DONT DEGRADE YOURSELF TO BE ON THIS TOUR. SAVE WHATS LEFT AND GO OUT ON YOUR OWN HEADLINING TOUR!!!..

29. Xplayer writes:

I think this tour might actually beat out Ozzfest Freefest, and Hell Yeah is in there so ya I might go, esp. since they r finally coming to chicago.

30. asfg writes:

why does post #9 want to see a sac show. sounds kinda gay

31. Xplayer writes:

Ok, y the f*** r Flyleaf on their again? Weren't they on there last year?

32. Xplayer writes:

POST 30, I think the person is referring to Sacramento, California which is one of the cities FV is going to be at.

33. no one writes:

this looks like a tour I won't be attending. it's sad vinnie paul is amongst them. no disrespect towards vinnie but c'mon dude.

34. bassmaster! writes:

wow u guys are soo imature if u dont like KORN gett off here! I dont want to hear your stupid opinions that are lame!

35. StabbingTheDrama writes:

why would you hear these opinions? Are you reading them out loud? :)

36. bassmaster! writes:

like I said sooo imature^^^^^ ,no IAM not reading them out load smart a$$! u know what I mean

37. StabbingTheDrama writes:

I'm not immature, I was just f***ing around dude. Jeez, don't call me immature because of that.

38. die writes:

why the f*** r u guys not coming to SAN BERNARDINO we need u to came back. we all need to see HELL YEAH. here in san bernardino we love u guys plz come to san bernardino. keep rockin

39. Justafan writes:

I bet it will rule, especially since HellYeah is made up of the Mudvayne members, that will rock, and Flyleaf and Evanescence on the same show, that is AWESOME!!!!

40. SexBloodandMetal writes:

basically, the only reason to even go is to see Vinne Paul. But other than that...NO

41. korn 08 baby writes:

KORN again? u got to be kidding....THATS f***EN AWSOME! i loved them last year! and it was my first time seeing them in concert! ima total fan...how many year since? i was 10 year s old and now ima turn 17 in april. and evanescence? thats cool ive liked them ever since they came out. and luckly my best friend is a total freak of them! i cant wait for this year family values tour.plus met my boyfreind there! and im still with him!yup ,yup! cant wait!!!

42. wylie writes:

great job korn , amazing line-up, just need godsmack there 2

43. korn4life writes:

korn is the best band ever, plus the best live band , i love the line-up, i agree iwith wylie. wish godsmack or some band like that there ,trivium, and atreyu are hard to understand when there singing, i love heavy sh** like korn, slipknot, godsmack, distrubed and be able to understand the singing

44. seed of satan writes:

WTF is Vinnie doing there?? i mean, i like korn, and trivium, but Hellyeah need their own tour, they're heavier than the rest of the bands, of course evanescence SUXS a$$

45. ...Just Another Number... writes:

God damnit this tour is gonna blow... I will probably go just to see Hellyeah! though... and for those of ya who havn't seen the posts about it... Hellyeah is a mix of members from Mudvayne and Nothingface playing with Vinnie Paul

46. slayerdisciple writes:

wat is Vinnie Paul Abbott no offense to the korn, trivium, and evanescence fans out there (i can atleast tolerate these bands and there fans unlike a7x) but Vinnie Paul is just doesnt belong here

47. mayhem writes:

i saw the fv tour lastyear in dallas and after mudvayne came on korn had no business even following that act.vinnie i was there for the video shoot at the clubhouse thats my bottle of patron on the drum stand.dont waste your time with these losers.you and the other guys from hell yeah are way too talented for this tour! SO GETCHA HELL YEAH!

48. the antihippy writes:

evanescence might be sweet.

49. 6-Wretched-6-Soul-6 writes:

bassmaster needs to get a friend coz he is so annoying and a loser....

50. slipknot4life writes:

do you no what will make this so much better if slipknot were there

51. StabbingTheDrama writes:

I think it's funny when people make two comments with different names and then the second one will agree with the first one. lol Wylie and korn4life?

52. XxComablackxX writes:

I think i'll take the marilyn manson and slayer tour sounds better then this. Why the hell does korn tour with such terrible band's. The only decent band is korn, they need like rammstein back or zombie, slipknot or manson but what a disappointting line up. I havent been since 1998 and it looks like i wont be going yet again. Maybe next year.

53. Daniel valadez writes:

the toure shuold come to omaha Ne qwest center that will be f****n great your biggest fan (atreyu)

54. we love Atreyu writes:

you shold come to omaha NE hell yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh #1 atreyu fan

55. Daniel valadez writes:

56. yellow teef writes:

What about SoCal..... :(

57. LondonAcid writes:

Atreyu is pretty bad ... they make milli vanilli look like rock Gods .... and i thought ozzfest this year was going to be bad ....

58. LondonAcid writes:

I know this might be a little late but f*** it ... post nine who exactly is goth on this tour and who is metal because i thought this whole tour was comprised of bands that play feces ...

59. Atreyufanatic writes:

Yo atreyu fu**in rockZ

60. StabbingTheDrama writes:

ATREYU = HORRIBLE MUSIC!!! Worst band on this tour by far

61. euphoric_discord writes:

Hella fu** yeah! I'm so fu**in pumped for this tour! I missed it last year so thank god ther're doing it again this year and comming though KC again! Not gonna miss it for the world!

62. mist writes:

Hell Yeah....bring on the Godfathers of Nu-Metal.

63. rising end writes:

no i think evanescence is the worst band on the bill STD...........at least atreyu has a decent guitarist, but they fell off after suicide notes and butterfly kisses (yeah pretty gay album name!!!). all evanescence does is strike power chords, lyrics are only surprisingly good in their more mellow songs. hell yeah should be interesting to see, but besides them no one....not really. after everybody and their mother satarted listening to a now overrated and unoriginal trivium......there's no real hope for this tour.

64. Monkey Balls lovez atreyu writes:

Atreyu= life hellyeah= life flyleaf= life korn=life lovez monkey balls this tour going to be awesome

65. evanescencefan4lyfe writes:

for all of you saying evanesence sux, you guys are just plain stupid. i cant WAIT for them to come to houston it will be amazing, i already saw evanescence and they put on an amazing concert plus with KoRn it wil be even better who knows they could do freak on a leash.

66. StabbingTheDrama writes:

It's funny when someone tries to defend a band bying saying "you guys are stupid..." Okay people, if you say something like that you are not backing anything up and you're also making the band look bad by having all retarded fans.

67. bassmaster! writes:

they better not do freak on a leash together she will kill the song they did an ok job acousic but live plugged in it will kill the song they shouldent do eny song together in fact! she cramps jons stlye on stage!

68. the antihippy writes:

where's kornboy and korndogg?

69. CHRISTINE ALVARADO writes:

OMG! this family value concert is gona be f***in sick! ive been waiting 4ever for evanescenc to come to sacramento for me to see her! since she first came out ive been waiting and now i find out shes touring w/ KoRn and flyleaf and Atreyu. i AM SO f***IN GOING!

70. Terminator writes:

i can afford to miss this....again. as has already been stated by many, vinnie is the only reason to consider going. terrible lineup.

71. Hawtrockerbabe writes:

I went to last years family values tour and had the time of my life! it turned out to be wayyy better than I anticipated. I don't know how I feel about this years festival though, Korn was hella awsome but no deftones? they f***ing rocked! and Hell yeah is hardcore but evenessence? booo! I do like Atreyu and Trivium though but I just don't think I am going to feel this years tour, how sad.

72. StabbingTheDrama writes:

Hell Yeah is not hardcore! lol And deftones suck.

73. serena writes:

This tour is gonna be fun! Too bad no Dir En Grey.

74. StabbingTheDrama writes:

Thank god that there is no Dir En Grey. They are horrible. You can go with Hawtrockerbabe and go see Deftones and Dir En Grey on tour together.

75. silentrockfaery writes:

do you know how much i wish this was coming to aus??? evanescence and flyleaf?

76. j smith writes:

i think its been established that alot of people are, to say the least, disapointed, by this lineup... but enought of all the bashing! sure, most of these bands aren't metal, but that doesn't mean they're sucky bands. Evanescence actually has some good songs beneath their overplayed mainstream "hits". Either have a more open attitude toward this big variety of music styles, or go find something better to do than trash the bands and their fans.

77. the antihippy writes:

wait a minute, who said the deftones suck? because i'm gonna KILL that guy!

seriously though, the deftones rule.

78. margie725 writes:

NO SWEETER PLACE TO SEE THEM THAN CAMDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

79. StabbingTheDrama writes:

I personally don't like the Deftones. I used to think they were okay, some songs I still think are okay House of Flies, their cover of Simple Man is okay but Shinedown's is a hell of a lot better, and Back to School. But their music is too slow and depressing for me where it's too mellow in a way even though I listen to a lot of other mellow stuff too. Hard to explain but they're just not my taste.

80. VWO writes:

aLL tHESE bANDS kICK sO mUCH @$$. aND iT iS cOMING tO kANSAS cITY, mISSOURI

81. xXxBODOM OF MY HEARTxXx writes:

Yup, this tour might just be the WORST tour for the summer." and 6-Wretched-6-Soul-6 i agree fully with you "wow this tour is definitly gunna suck huge c***, a big thick one that could choke a horse 5 times over..." for sure and any one else who sais that this tour is a stupid and pointless and the worst tour in the history of mann....hell yeah are okay though not gonna rat on them....seriously we need real music thank god i am in a band to show my version of tr00 honest to God metal....but w/e...this is an opinion and IDGAFF about what you think or your opinions if you think it is good cause it blows....

82. metalneverdies writes:

85. metalgod1226 writes:

this tour would be sick as f*ck if sevndust and lamb of god were on it. esp. sevendust, they probably one of the best live bands ive ever seen. lamb of god is a maint stage act for ozzfest so they def out. but sevendust should def be added to this tour.

Korn, Evanescence to Headline Family Values 2007

family values tour 2007 lineup

Multi-Platinum, Grammy-winning hard rock bands Korn and Evanescence will co-headline the 2007 Family Values Tour, with Atreyu, HELLYEAH, Flyleaf, Trivium and others joining them on the main stage. The tour launches on July 20 in St. Louis, MO. Concert producer Live Nation will once again be on board to bring fans the multi-city trek through North America and, for the second year in a row, the cheapest lawn ticket of the summer ($9.99). Additional bands and details will be announced shortly.

Korn, along with management company the Firm created and the Family Values Tour in 1998, and last year's outing catapulted the festival back into the spotlight of summer tours with fans turning out in record numbers (over 400,000 tickets sold) for the hard hitting lineup and the fan friendly ticket prices.

“The fans really made last year's tour incredible, so we just had to do it again this year,” says Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. “We could not be more excited about this year's lineup!”

”We are very psyched to see some of our favorite bands and getting all of our fans together for this amazing festival,” says Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee.

Regarding the $9.99 lawn seat price, Jonathan Davis commented, “It's important to us that we do all we can to have a great lineup and make this tour affordable. Live music should be something that all of us should be able to share together. The success of last year's tour proves we can make a difference. I believe it has already had an effect on a lot of other tours, and that's cool!”

The Family Values Tour will hit the following cities (dates and venues to be announced): St. Louis, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Camden, NJ; Boston, MA; Washington DC; Hartford, CT; Buffalo, NY; Detroit, MI; Toronto, ON; Pittsburgh, PA; Scranton, PA; East Rutherford, NJ; Indianapolis, IN; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Miami, FL; Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; San Antonia, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Kansas City, MO; Denver, CO; Albuquerque, NM; Phoenix, AZ; Bakersfield, CA; Sacramento, CA; San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA

The tour launched September 22, 1998 with a bill headlined by Korn and performances from Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit and Orgy. 1999's lineup featured headliners Limp Bizkit, along with Filter, the Crystal Method, Primus, Staind, Mobb Deep, Ja Rule and Method Man & Redman. Korn also made surprise appearances at a few dates. Beyond the live touring aspect, the debut outing of The Family Values Tour spawned a Gold-certified live album and Platinum-certified companion home video. This was followed in spring 2000 with the second live disc and long-form home video. The 2001 trek featured Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, Staind, Static-X and Deadsy. In 1998, the Los Angeles Times noted that the tour "certainly proved to be one of the rock spectacles of the year," while the New York Daily News said it "created a bold new profile for hard guitar bands."

About Korn:

Grammy-winning rock band Korn has sold more than 30 million albums and received widespread critical acclaim for its music. Korn have redefined the parameters of heavy music, revolutionizing the genre by matching unsettling guitar textures and volcanic rhythms with jagged, introspective lyrics and intense vocals. Korn is known for its extensive live touring schedule and riveting live performances. Korn's most recent album, MTV Unplugged , had a Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 .

Korn will be touring in support of its yet-to-be-titled second release on Virgin Records, which is due to hit streets in July, and its highly successful Top 10 debuting release, MTV Unplugged , which contains the hit duet with Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee, “Freak on a Leash,” and also features a collaboration with the Cure.

About EVANESCENCE:

Following the multi-Platinum, worldwide success of their major-label debut, Fallen , Evanescence continued building upon their respected position in the rock community with their much-anticipated sophomore effort, The Open Door , released by Wind-Up Records on October 3, 2006. To date, more than 1.6 million copies of The Open Door have been purchased in the United States in just the first five months, as well as multi-Platinum sales throughout the rest of the world. Evanescence's second studio album followed its debut Fallen , and the live DVD/CD Anywhere But Home . Combined, those two titles have sold in excess of 17 million copies worldwide.

Evanescence experienced a meteoric rise to the top with its Fallen release. The two Top Ten Singles “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal,” two Grammy Awards in 2003 (Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bring Me to Life”), a run of over one hundred weeks on Billboard magazine's Top 200 chart, Gold or Platinum certification in over 35 countries and sold-out arenas globally are some of the accomplishments that fueled this arrival as one of the most important bands in rock.

About Atreyu:

The Orange County, CA-based quintet (vocalist Alex Varkatzas, guitarist Dan Jacobs, guitarist Travis Miguel, bassist Marc McKnight and drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller) arrived on the scene and quickly made their presence felt in 2002 with their much-lauded debut album, Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses . The album redefined Southern California's heavy rock sound and established Atreyu as its most exciting young voice.

They maintained their pack leader position with 2004's The Curse , which went on to sell nearly 400,000 copies. The band toured heavily in support, playing 2004's Ozzfest and headlining the main stage at 2005's Warped Tour, in addition to their own successful headline run. They exploded in 2006 with A Death Grip on Yesterday , which hit No. 9 on the Billboard charts and was praised by Guitar World as an album that blends influences such as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, hardcore-style aggression and guitar virtuosity on the level of Eighties hair metal into a distinctive amalgam that's exciting young headbangers. They graced the covers of Revolver and Alternative Press , garnered airplay on MTV and Fuse and spent last summer headlining the second stage at Ozzfest after signing with Hollywood Records.

About Flyleaf:

Deemed by many as a “band to watch,” Flyleaf was recently chosen for regular rotation on MTV's exciting new “Discover and Download” campaign. Their forceful guitars and intensely melodic female vocals have garnered many new fans-as well as much critical acclaim from Metal Hammer , Kerrang! , Revolver and others. The Village Voice writes, “Singer Lacey Mosely will sometimes roar and growl among the wolves...a total livewire.” Flyleaf brings their intense and new brand of rock to the stellar tour lineup.

About HELLYEAH:

Drummer Vinnie Paul (Pantera), Mudvayne vocalist/lyricist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett, along with Nothingface members Tom Maxwell on guitars and Jerry Montano on bass have combined forces to create a self-titled, non-stop freight train of maniacal singer and song, surging southern metal guitar grooves, throbbing bass lines and hammering, ground-shaking beats, kick-ass enough to knock you and your mama into the next county.

About Trivium:

Trivium are a thrash metal-influenced band from Orlando, Florida. They formed in 2000 after the band's original singer saw Matt Heafy performing at a high school talent show, performing "Self Esteem" by the Offspring. Their most recent album, The Crusade , peaked at No. 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and inside the Top 10 in the U.K.

The inside story of Korn’s Family Values tour

Korn singer Jonathan Davis looks back on Family Values – the tour that took the nu metal revolution to the next level

family values tour 2007 lineup

Nu metal was already snowballing by 1998, but it would be the Family Values tour that took it to another level. The brainchild of scene leaders Korn, it hit the road in America in the Fall of 1998 and featured a stellar line-up that included stars-in-waiting Limp Bikzit, Teutonic controversy-magnets Rammstein, gangsta rap godfather Ice Cube and death-pop pretty boys Orgy. By the end of the year, it had established nu metal as a genre-mashing cultural force and a heavyweight commercial proposition. More than 20 years on, we sat down with Korn frontman Jonathan Davis to look back on the tour that took set the nu metal revolution ablaze.

family values tour 2007 lineup

Jonathan Davis (Korn): “This idea started super early. For years, we always wanted to do a festival and put something together that was new. We went back and forth with our management and figured out what we were going for and how to do it. It was fun to do.

“It was about showing what was going on at that time. We were at a turning point in heavy music and it felt huge and we wanted to put something on that showed what the fuck was going on. Everyone was given a full production so it felt like you were getting a headline show from all of the bands: Limp Bizkit with their big-ass spaceship, and we had the Korn Kage that put kids on the stage, rocking out with us. I think the cage was Fieldy’s idea and to this day, I still think it’s one of the coolest things we’ve ever done.

“It served its purpose in the way it exposed people to what was going on at that time and what we were doing in Korn. It blew everything up. It was the first time we ever played arenas and it seemed everyone who was on that tour – except for Cube, who was already huge – blew up and were playing bigger shows after. It was a stepping stone to all of our bands and that scene taking over for a couple of years.

“We were convinced we needed to have a hip hop act on there. We all listened to hip hop at that time and it was a big influence on us and the scene, and who better than Ice Cube? That was the shit. It was awesome. That guy is a legend and people had to respect that. I didn’t worry about the crowd not taking to him at all because he ripped it up every night and you can’t deny that. He was bringing old NWA into his set and the crowd loved it. The kids who liked us and Bizkit came from the same school of thought as us so having Ice Cube on there made total sense to everyone.

“We always tried to get Deftones on the tour but we could never figure it out. Other than that, it was the exact bill that we wanted to put on the road. Everyone hung out and it was a good time, but it was when I was dealing with anxiety for the first time so I spent a lot of time in my bunk. I remember everyone in the band had a great time and got along with every other band and there was no bitching – it was an amazing tour.

“Family Values could definitely happen again. I’d like to bring out trap artists and things reflecting what’s going on right now in music, just like we did back in the day. There’s plenty of aggressive acts in all forms of music that could tour together and do a new Family Values so it’s definitely something we could look at doing again in the future.”
