2024 Easter Jeep Safari: Four New Concepts, Each with a Different Purpose and Palette

Jeep returns to Moab with a quartet of Wrangler, Gladiator, and Grand Wagoneer–based concepts that go high, low, and retro.

Jeep Vacationeer Concept

jeep concept

We knew the creatives at Jeep couldn't keep their hands off the new Wagoneer for long, and the Vacationeer is here to prove us right. And no, that's not a typo; the "ee" is a not-so-subtle nod to the Wagoneer it's based on. As long as we're pointing out the obvious, it would be pointless to pay homage to the Wagoneers of yore without at least a touch of woodgrain, and the Vacationeer wears it in the thin-strip style of select Jeep models from the late 20th century, including the low-volume Wagoneer Brougham of the early 1980s.

The custom exterior paint, dubbed Spearminted, is similar to the hue of the paint on the Willys Dispatcher Concept also found on this list, but it ramps up the spent nuclear fuel rod effect to Simpsons levels of iridescence. Larger wheel openings and custom body-side flare extensions shroud 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires mounted to 18 x 9.0-inch 701 Method racing wheels. The tire and wheel package provide a 1.5-inch lift while front and rear skid plates help to deflect obstacles, and a front-mounted Warn winch and a trio of 11-inch TYRI LED lights provide peace of mind. Jeep's 510-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six "Hurricane" engine provides the power to keep the vacation rolling.

The Overlanding vibe is strong thanks to the custom carbon-fiber RedTail Overland Skyloft affixed to the roof. Featuring climate control, room for two, and panoramic viewing capabilities, it seems like the ideal place to spend a night in the boonies, or even your driveway. To make climbing up and in via the weatherproof pass-through easier, Jeep removed the second- and third-row seating and mounted a small step that doubles as a table.

The rear area features a bed liner to stow gear. Distinguished fashion designer and Wagoneer enthusiast/owner Kiel James Patrick was tapped for the front upholstery, coming up with a design featuring classic Jeep vehicles dotting a distinctive and charming New England–inspired pattern. (Attn. Jeep: You know you could sell this fabric for real, right?)

Jeep Wrangler Low Down Concept

a red jeep on a dirt road

Longtime fans will likely remember the Jeep Lower 40 concept the brand dropped back in 2009 at the 43rd annual Easter Jeep Safari. This year's Jeep Low Down concept exists as an update of sorts, following the theme of fitting the biggest tires possible without altering the suspension or lifting the ride height.

The formula involves some clever cleaver work to make room for ginormous BFGoodrich Krawler 42 x 14.5 R-20 mud-terrain tires mounted on 20-inch beadlock wheels. Custom carbon-fiber fender flares help facilitate the project. Otherwise, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 suspension remains untouched, but Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears are brought in to replace the standard Rubicon Dana 44s. The result is a low center of gravity teamed with increased ground clearance, breakover, and approach and departure angles.

The exterior is finished in Poison Apple Red paint, and the hood is a custom carbon-fiber unit with a see-through power dome. The profile gets a bit of streamlining with the removal of the exterior door handles, and a race-style fuel filler resides in the driver's-side rear quarter.

Interior tweaks include a Rhino-lined floor, black leather seats with cloth inserts, and a radio delete instrument panel. "Listening to the engine is enough, in the Low Down," says Chris Piscitelli, design manager for Dodge/SRT, who had a hand in creating this year's concepts. A custom red-tinted semi-transparent bikini top makes sure any light that passes through glows with a red hue.

Like its Lower 40 inspiration, the Jeep Low Down relies on a V-8 engine, in this case a modern 475-hp 6.4-liter 392 (you saw the numerous callouts, right?) and an eight-speed automatic transmission, whereas the Lower 40 made do with just a 390-hp 5.7-liter Hemi.

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept

jeep concept

Born from the efforts of Jeep Performance Parts designers and the Mopar engineering teams, the Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept channels the '70s J-series pickups, particularly the highly decorated versions from the mid-'70s when Jeep tried to get hip. (Remember the Jeep J-10 Honcho ?)

Brown was the official color of the 1970s, so Jeep starts off with a two-tone Ginger Snap metallic exterior with bold graphics that look the part. Interior mods are subtle but appropriate. The seats have been trimmed with custom quilted and perforated tan and black Alea leather, and JPP logos reside on the headrests. JPP provides the sun bonnet, pedal kit, floor mats, and doorsill guards. JPP also provided some concept flat fender flares.

jeep concept

Mods from outside vendors include a front bumper from American Expedition Vehicles—check the custom protective hoop sitting just above a Warn winch—rock rail power steps from Rock Slide Engineering, and a truck bed storage system with lockable dual sliding drawers from Decked.

Power comes from the trusty 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine mated to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Torque is funneled to Dana 60 front and rear axles with matching 5.38:1 gears, then moves on to 40 x 13.5 R-18 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires mounted on 18 x 9.0-inch Satin Black KMC Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels. An AccuAir adjustable suspension helps fine-tune the suspension for the task at hand.

Willys Dispatcher Concept

jeep concept

Aside from the paint, the Willys Dispatcher doesn't look much different from the current Wrangler. And although there's a lot more going on here than just its Element 115 green paint, we'd be fine if there wasn't. As designer Chris Piscitelli not so coyly mentioned in brief preview, more than one current Jeep color first debuted on concept vehicles like this. A gloss-black windshield surround almost disappears—along with the standard black roll cage—due to the high contrast with the nuclear-age-inspired green paint.

Exterior color aside, the Willys Dispatcher, which counts the postwar-era Willys Jeeps as its inspiration, has some pretty cool features, including front and rear Dana 50 axles with 4:70 gears and 36-inch Traxion tires mounted on 16 x 7.0-inch white steel wheels for the perfect vintage look. The bumpers are crafted to look homemade old-school, the front with a beefy Warn 8274 winch mounted. The flat fenders and "Willys" stamped lettering in the hood really play into the retro vibe.

jeep concept

Inside, distressed saddle leather mixes with houndstooth cloth inserts; combined with the low back seats—sans headrests—the midcentury vibe is palpable. The vinyl flooring is from Jeep Performance Products, as are the bikini top and the onboard air compressor.

For all the looking back, the powertrain is undeniably modern, the Willys Dispatcher using Jeep's 2.0-liter plug-in-hybrid 4xe propulsion system that delivers 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque through an eight-speed automatic. It's a blend of old and new that successfully transcends time.

Here Are Jeep’s Awesome 2024 Easter Safari Builds From Every Angle

Jeep has created four amazing new concepts for its easter safari drive this year, including a rad camping rig built around a jeep grand wagoneer..

A photo of the four Easter Jeep Safari trucks parked up.

It’s that time of year again people, it’s Easter. And sure, that might mean it’s the season for eating too much chocolate or celebrating the anniversary of someone’s resurrection (weirdly on a different day each year) but for us here in the world of cars, it means it’s time to look at a bunch of awesome Jeep concepts.

That’s because the off-road brand is preparing to host its annual Easter Jeep Safari . Jeep will head to the desert and bring with it all manner of modified metal. This year, its special builds do not disappoint.

For the 2024 Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep put together four special trucks  built around its Wrangler , Gladiator and Grand Wagoneer models. Each car is fitted with the kind of off-road upgrades you and I can only dream of, as well as all kinds of massive wheels, rugged trim and some seriously awesome color choices.

To celebrate their unveiling, we’ve put together a bunch of the best pictures of the new Jeeps that we could find. So pull up a camp chair, don your desert boots and sit back to enjoy the best the 2024 Easter Jeep Safari has to offer.

The Low Down

A photo of the front quarter of the Low Down concept.

First up it’s the Low Down concept, which is built on Jeep’s mighty Wrangler Rubicon 392. The car was designed in homage to the Jeep Wrangler Lower 40 from 2009’s Easter Jeep Safari. As such, it packs an awesome paint scheme, massive wheels and no roof, just like its inspiration.

The One With The V8

A photo of the engine bay of the Low Down concept.

Because this is a Wrangler 392 , there’s a stock 6.4-liter V8 motor under hood. The engine kicks out 475-horsepower and is mated to an eight-speed automatic. To show off its beating heart, Jeep’s engineers fitted the hood with a see-through section that reveals that massive engine in all its glory.

Get It In The Good Color

A photo of the side view of the Low Down concept.

For the finish on the Low Down, Jeep opted for a lush poison apple red paint that pops nicely compared to the black grille and roof rails. To streamline the look of the truck, Jeep opted to remove the rear door handles, because who needs those anyway, and fitted a bespoke fuel filler door on the rear quarter.

Looks Wheelie Big

A photo of the rear quarter of the Low Down concept.

Because it’s a Jeep Safari build, the truck is finished off with a set of massive 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler mud-terrain tires , which are fitted to a 20-inch bead-lock wheel at each corner. Under the car, Jeep has left the Wrangler Rubicon 392 suspension as stock, but it also fitted Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears.

Willys Dispatcher

A photo of the front of the Willys Dispatcher concept.

Next is the Willys Dispatcher build, which is based on Jeep’s Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. The build is said to invoke “...the nostalgia of the early post-war civilian Jeep,” according to the brand. As such, it unites an awesome paint scheme and the rugged looks of the Wrangler with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that churns out 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

Best Wheels Of The Bunch

A photo of the front quarter of the Willys Dispatcher concept.

The biggest changes on this build are in the looks department, with Jeep finishing the truck in that lovely element 115 green paint. At each corner, there’s a 16-inch steely wheel painted cream. They really pop against the Traxion 36-inch tires and teal body. To finish the retro-stylings, there’s a classic-looking Warn winch up front.

Look At That Interior

A photo of the interior of the Willys Dispatcher concept.

Inside the Dispatcher is a lovely trim that reminds me of my grandparents living room, in a really, really good way. But what does that look like to anyone that’s not been in their house in rural Yorkshire? Well, it’s full of tan saddle leather and a neat houndstooth pattern across the seats and dash. I dig it.

A top down photo of the Willys Dispatcher concept.

Other flourishes on the Dispatcher include a vinyl covering to protect the floor from any water that could come in through the open roof, and there’s an onboard air compressor to manage your tire pressures on the trail. To keep you moving when the going gets tough, the truck also has Dana 50 Advantech front and rear axles with 4.70 gears.

The High Top

A photo of the front of the High Top pickup truck from Jeep.

If you absolutely must have a pickup truck, I guess the new High Top build isn’t a bad way to go. Built around Jeep’s Gladiator Rubicon , the High Top concept packs in massive 40-inch off-road tires from BFGoodrich at each corner, wrapped around a set of black Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels.

How It All Works

A photo of the underside of the High Top pickup truck from Jeep.

Under the hood, the truck is powered by Jeep’s 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine, which has been paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. To get all that oomph onto the trail, Jeep gave the Gladiator High Top Dana 60 front and rear axles with 5.38:1 gearing and adjustable air suspension.

Pickup, Pickup

A photo of the side of the High Top pickup truck from Jeep.

Because this is a pickup , there’s a whole bed out back to fill with your hopes and dreams. To maximize its useability, Jeep gave the High Top truck the latest Decked truck bed storage system, which offers additional lockable cargo space just like you get from a trunk. Imagine that.

Winching At My Heartstrings

A photo of the front of the High Top pickup truck from Jeep.

Up front, the bumper of the Gladiator has been modified to include a custom protective hoop from American Expedition Vehicles. This sits above a Warn winch, and the High Top packs in rock rail power steps from Rock Slide Engineering to protect its underside.

Grand Vacationeer

A photo of the front quarter of the Grand Vacationeer concept build.

You know what’s cooler than a ginger-colored pickup truck? A minty green Grand Wagoneer that can take you almost anywhere. This is the Jeep Vacationeer and it’s excellent. Fitted out with 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires, 18-inch rims and a 1.5-inch lift, this is everything the Wagonner was born to be.

Not Enough Room To Camp In The Trunk

A photo of the side of the Grand Vacationeer concept with its tent popped up.

Inside, Jeep has ripped out the second and third rows of seats in the Wagoneer in order to install a pass-through entrance to the custom tent that’s fitted up top. The custom carbon fiber tent comes from outdoor experts Skyloft and offers climate-controlled sleeping space for two and all the windows you need to enjoy your surroundings. Is this the ultimate definition of “glamping?”

Never Forget Your Car Cacti

A photo of the interior of the Grand Vacationeer concept build.

As well as skid plates to protect the underside and custom flared wheel arches, Jeep has also fitted the Vacationeer with a pretty stunning interior. There’s tons of earth tones and soft finishes, and the rear space has been lined with weather-proof materials to ensure the back of the Wagoneer can handle all the outdoor activities you throw at it.

Which Would You Have?

A photo of the four Jeep concept cars driving at sunset.

So, that’s the lineup of awesome custom Jeeps that Stellantis will take to its annual Easter Jeep Safari this year. If you could drive away today in one of them, which would you choose? My heart tells me the Low Down is the best of the bunch, but deep down I really want the overlanding Wagoneer.

  • Jeep unveils a slew of concepts and custom-made vehicles for this year's Easter Jeep Safari.
  • The Wrangler, Grand Wagoneer, Gladiator and even a classic Cherokee are all represented.
  • Marks the last year of the electric Magneto concept, as the production Recon EV is coming in 2024.

The snow is thawing, flowers are blooming, and there's romance in the air. That can mean only one thing — it's Easter Jeep Safari season! For one week each spring, off-road enthusiasts migrate to Moab, Utah, to drive their four-wheelers in the punishing desert clime. Even Jeep gets involved, bringing a handful of unique custom vehicles to the party to show off what their platforms are capable of, and what can be built with the vast Jeep parts catalog.

Here are all the vehicles the automaker is bringing to Easter Jeep Safari 2023:

Am I Ready for an EV?

  • EV ownership works best if you can charge (240V) at home or at work This typically means a 240V home installation, but you could also have a similar setup at your office or other places your car is already parked for several hours each day. Don't expect a regular household outlet (120V) to suffice unless you've got a plug-in hybrid, in which case overnight charging at home is feasible.
  • If you can’t charge at home, charging at a charging station could take at least 10x longer than at a gas station With public charging infrastructure still in its infancy, the user experience can be maddeningly inconsistent. Tesla owners tend to rave about the reliability and speed of the company's proprietary Supercharger stations, but rival DC fast options have thus far been plagued by technical issues and overcrowding. It's an evolving landscape and our best advice is to do your research on the available options for the EV you want to buy.
  • Adding a 240V home charging system could cost up to $1,600 or more If your existing electrical service can handle the additional demands of EV charging, you may be able to add Level 2 charging at home for less than a grand, including installation. But your costs will multiply if you need to upgrade your electrical panel or add a dedicated circuit.

Jeep Magneto 3.0 concept front

Magneto 3.0

Easter Jeep Safari 2023 marks the end of the Magneto line — the two-door electric Wrangler concept — since the Wrangler-like Recon EV is due next year. Jeep is sending this third-generation concept out with a number of upgrades that hopefully make their way to the Recon. Additions for 2023 are highlighted by the new dual driving modes. The more pedestrian mode limits output to 285 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, which is roughly the same as the standard Wrangler with the gasoline V6. The other mode, which we might as well call "Unwrangled," boosts this to 650 hp and 900 lb-ft (an increase of 25 hp and 50 lb-ft compared to Magneto 2.0 ).

Other tweaks include door openings cut back 6 inches to help you get in and out, a steeper rake for the windshield, and custom anti-roll bars. The Bright White/Surf Blue exterior paint scheme has a new design and now features red accents for a sporty feel.

Jeep Scrambler 392 concept front

Scrambler 392

The Scrambler 392 looks similar to the Magento 3.0 — both are open-door takes on the Wrangler and the passenger areas end behind the front seats — though the Scrambler is based on a four-door model so its bed is a bit larger. More importantly, as the name suggests, the Scrambler is powered by the mighty 392-cubic-inch (or 6.4-liter) V8 available on the Wrangler Rubicon. Carbon-fiber body panels are employed to lower weight, while an air suspension gives a maximum 5.5-inch lift. The exterior is finished in Sublime Green, and the cabin features plaid blue cloth inserts with green accents.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe concept front

Wrangler Rubicon 4xe

The third of Jeep's custom Wranglers doesn't have a fancy name, and neither does the deep magenta paint that is this vehicle's signature. It's a nod to the Tuscadero (pink) color that was available a couple years ago, but this has more of a purple hue. This concept features half-doors, 17-inch AEV beadlock wheels with 37-inch BFG mud-terrain tires, a Warn winch and an air suspension with a maximum lift of 5.5 inches. Plus, the 4xe (plug-in hybrid) powertrain means you also get cool blue accents on the outside.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure concept front

Wrangler 4xe Departure

While much of what you see on the Wrangle 4xe Departure is custom-made, a number of its add-ons are actually available through the Mopar parts catalog. These include the tube doors, a 2-inch lift kit, Warn winch, rock rails and all-weather cargo mats. From there, the design team engineered a custom grille guard that folds down to create a makeshift bench, a spare tire holder that can rotate to store the tire on the outside or inside, and brackets to hold the trio of 11-inch Tyri lights up top. The vehicle is finished in Dark Harbor blue on top of a two-tone brown interior.

Jeep Gladiator Sideburn concept front

Gladiator Sideburn

Perhaps as a nod to mulleted action stars of the 1970s, the Gladiator Sideburn is actually a party up front and in the back. This Gladiator is painted Solar Flash Yellow and shares quite a few Mopar bits with the Departure, above. It starts to get really interesting once you move aft of the rear doors. The bed frame and sport bar directly behind the doors are made of steel and carbon fiber, and feature a two-tier storage system and Molle panels for attaching pretty much anything you can imagine.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Overland concept front

Grand Wagoneer Overland

Overlanding is Hansel-levels of so hot right now, and it's only natural that Jeep jumps in with its own Grand Wagoneer Overland. Based on the short-wheelbase version of the luxe Grand Wagoneer, its centerpiece is the RedTail Overland Skyloft rooftop camper — a hard-sided camper with solar panels, heating and power, double-paned windows and more. But the Grand Wagoneer is extensively modified, too. The second- and third-row seats are removed, as is the rear panel of the panoramic sunroof. It's replaced by a trapdoor for easy Skyloft access. The muddy Industrial Green paint job is complemented with laser exterior lighting and custom wheel arches and front bumper.

Jeep Cherokee 4xe Concept front

1978 Cherokee 4xe

This concept vehicle started its life as a 1978 Jeep Cherokee SJ plucked from the depths of an internet marketplace. Next, it was matched with a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe chassis and drivetrain and then painted with period graphics. At a glance, only the signature blue 4xe tow hooks give away this restomod. Inside there are low-back bucket seats (sans head restraints), a four-point roll cage and a platform on which a spare tire sits.

Jeep's EJS vehicles never fail to surprise and impress, but pour one out for the end-of-line Magneto. Hopefully we'll see an extreme Recon EV at next year's Easter Jeep Safari.

7 Things To Know About Easter Jeep Safari

  • By Kyle Cunningham
  • March 31, 2022

Easter Jeep Safari  (EJS) is like spring break for Jeepers without the beach. This event always starts the Saturday the week before Easter in Moab, Utah. 2022 marks the 55th year that the  Red Rock 4-Wheelers  (RR4W) have put this event on and I have been fortunate to attend a few times now. Here are a few things that I think will make anyone’s trip to Moab a success, even if it’s not during EJS.

Mountainous terrain of the Grand Canyon.

1. WHAT GRAND CANYON?

Google says that five million people visit the Grand Canyon each year, to me, that means that five million people are making a huge mistake. I’ve been to the Grand Canyon once and have now been to Moab four times. In my opinion, the views in Moab while on the trails beat the Grand Canyon 10-fold!.

2. TENT, HOTEL, OR HOUSE?

The town of Moab seems to double in size every time I go there. More and more hotels are popping up and rental properties are becoming more prevalent. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean that the price of shelter has gone down.

If sleeping on the ground is your cup of tea there are plenty of campsites with amazing scenery all over town. If you feel like putting 200K of your Marriott points to good use you won’t have to worry about making your bed in the morning.

A yellow Jeep rides along an off-road track near the Grand Canyon.

Moab’s average nightly hotel rate is around $175 a night throughout the year, even higher during the week of EJS. My approach for handling lodging is to use Airbnb for as many trips as possible.

There’s something to be said about coming back to a house or condo after a long day on the trail, grabbing a beer out of the fridge, and sitting on the porch as the sun sets in Moab. That luxury comes at a price, though.

The week of EJS has the highest rates for rental properties of the entire year, so you might get a little wallet shock when you start looking for some. You can fight that by booking early and going in on a larger house with friends that join in on the trip.

A chart an itinerary outlining the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari.

3. FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFT FOR TRAILS

With 42 trails, with trail ratings of 2 to 9, being run over nine days, there is plenty to choose from, depending on your style. The RR4W club has done a great job putting packages together for first-timers so that you won’t stress out about picking the wrong trail (designed for stock jeeps).

They even offer a Sophomore and Junior package to run more challenging trails as you build up your Jeep year after year. The real issue with getting registered is their system in place.

With the volume that their servers see, it’s tough to get registered for multiple trails once it opens up online. You might be able to make easy work of it if you have three computers out at once, like a fantasy draft.

A yellow Jeep rides along an off-road track near the Grand Canyon.

4. HOW TO MAKE 8+ HOURS IN A JEEP A BREEZE

Being on the trails is my biggest stress reliever, but it can become a very stressful day if you aren’t prepared. Depending on the difficulty level of the trail chosen and the group size, you could be on the trail anywhere from 6-12 hours so have plenty of snickers to keep hunger at bay.

My go-to afternoon snack cooks on the manifold. Always start the day off with a full tank of fuel to avoid running out on the long trail days that can be unexpected.

The Shell gas station gives a pretty cool little goodie bag away with a fill-up over a certain amount with Moab stickers. Make sure you have your playlist downloaded to keep the tunes going all day long unless you are one of the new cool kids with XM. Taking a nice camera is a good idea, but your cell phone will work just fine so that you can send photos to your Jeep friends to make them jealous.

5. DRIVE IT AS YOU STOLE IT UNLESS YOU NEED TO DRIVE IT HOME!

If you want to experience EJS but prefer to leave your Jeep at home, over seven companies rent modified Jeeps to take on the trail. The company usually dictates what trails you can go on, and most have a maximum amount of mileage per day.

Many folks drive their Jeeps from far and wide to participate in EJS, including me in 2017! Risky business since that’s your ride home, but it can be done just might wear on your nerves while on obstacles. Depending on your trail selection and how hard of a line you want to choose, trailering your Jeep to the event might be your best bet.

Several jeeps stopped on a trail near a plateau.

6. CARS AND COFFEE AT DINNER?

If you have ever gone to or heard of the cars and coffee events that happen all over the country, then you will understand the following statement. Every restaurant parking lot turns into an unplanned Jeep show during dinner time, which is much needed since you will usually be waiting for a table at most restaurants.

A place you must visit at least once for breakfast is the Moab Dinner on Main Street. With the tables being covered in aftermarket Jeep manufacture marketing material, it is a fan favorite for all parties. For Dinner, you can’t go wrong with the Moab Brewery’s menu.

If you are anything like me regarding the amount of time spent looking at Jeep parts, then the vendor show is something you must attend. Many parts manufacture’s use EJS to either enounce new products or finally bring parts from SEMA to the customers.

Fair warning, though, you will walk away from the show, either spending some dough or making a list for future purchases. Most vendors offer show discounts to help make the decision easier.

Are You Interested In The Easter Jeep Safari? Here Is All You Need To Know

The Easter Jeep Safari is an annual event organized by the Red Rock 4-Wheeler Club. This trip takes off-roading fans on backcountry trails for a week of Jeep-fueled fun.

All You Need To Know About The Easter Jeep Safari

jedco-blog-easter-jeep-dirt-road

Do you want to roll over slickrock and caravan through Utah’s most gorgeous gullies and red rock trails in your own Jeep? If so, this major Jeep event is for you. Hosted by Moab’s Red Rock 4-Wheeler Club (RR4W), the Easter Jeep Safari is situated close to the stunning landscape of the Arches National Park and the Canyonlands National Park. Hard-core Jeep enthusiasts celebrate all things Jeep in a nine-day long event through the wilderness of Moab, Utah.

This event has been recurring for decades and continues to be a memorable experience for all who join. Participants go on day-long trail rides on pre-planned routes. It’s a chance for Jeep owners to venture out into the wilderness and push the limits of their vehicles and themselves. The Easter Jeep Safari is also where the Jeep brand unveils their newest concept vehicles, giving attendees an exclusive peek at Jeep’s future. This event also includes a BBQ, a raffle, and a vendor show scheduled for the 6th and 7th of April. Keep reading for everything you need to know about this year’s Easter Jeep Safari.

Important Details About 2023 Easter Jeep Safari

The 2023 Easter Jeep Safari takes place from Saturday, April 1st to Sunday, April 9th. This nine-day event involves participants riding on trails of varying difficulty set up by the Red Rock 4-Wheeler Club through the Moab area. Whether you are a hard-core adventure enthusiast or a Sunday driver, there is something for you. Currently, there are 42 designated trails ranging from dirt roads to extreme treks requiring modified vehicles.

There are only two main rules at this event. First: every vehicle must be street legal and have a metal roll bar. And second: every rig must be safe for legal operation in Utah. If your Jeep meets those requirements, it should be fair game.

All participants must pre-register beforehand, so do your planning in advance. Occasionally, for some trails, there is availability on the day of the event. You can check the Spanish Trail Area for any openings. If this sounds like the event for you, keep reading.

History Behind the Easter Jeep Safari

The first Easter Jeep Safari was held in 1967 by the Moab Chamber of Commerce. The event started as just a single-day organized ride. Since then, it has grown into the annual tradition fans know and love today. In the 1980s the event was taken over by the Red Rock 4-Wheeler Club. The last Saturday of the event, known as Big Saturday, includes a massive parade of 4x4 vehicles, all departing downtown Moab at the same time, as a nod to its origins.

Why You Should Attend the Easter Jeep Safari

blog-easter-jeep-jedco-trail-biter-t-shirt

The Easter Jeep Safari is an annual tradition. Taking place in scenic Moab, Utah , the event is an unparalleled experience. With the multitude of trails, even less experienced visitors can enjoy their first taste of off-roading. All trails are set up and led by experienced members of the Red Rock 4-Wheeler Club, ensuring you have peace of mind during your ride. Surrounded by other Jeep enthusiasts, it's the perfect place to be around like-minded Jeepers who love their off-roading machines as much as you do.

This is a social event that allows adventure-seekers the chance to enjoy the wilderness from the comfort of their vehicles. Convoys at each respective trail start at roughly 9 am. At particularly challenging obstacles, a team member will guide you through that section of the trail. Even if you do not own a Jeep, you can still attend this event. However, 4-Wheelers or ATVs are not allowed, and only street-legal vehicles are permitted.

Here Is How You Can Deck Out Your Jeep For The Easter Jeep Safari

The Easter Jeep Safari is all about celebrating the Jeep. The best way to enjoy the trails is in one of Jeep’s conceptual vehicles, designed specifically for this annual event. Looking at these custom-designed vehicles is the best way for you to get inspiration to deck out your Jeep. Last year, Jeep unveiled 10 new concept vehicles  for the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari, to suit the needs of Jeep enthusiasts and off-roading adventurers alike.

The most sought-after concept was the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Gladiator. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe is a revolutionary new vehicle that is suited for outdoor adventure and environmentalism. It boasts a 375 horsepower plug-in hybrid electric powertrain. The Jeep Gladiator concept is an off-roader’s dream, decked out with a unique open-air design, King coils and bypass shocks, steel bumpers to improve departure angles, a three-inch lift, and 40-inch tires. While we loved last year’s concepts, we can’t wait to see what Jeep has cooking for Easter Jeep Safari 2023.

5 Things To Carry For An Ultimate Easter Jeep Safari Experience

While your guides will provide you with a safe and fun experience, participants are expected to pack everything they may need along the way. If you’re going to be part of this year’s event, the first thing you’ll need is your most important possession: your four-wheel-drive vehicle. We recommend a Jeep (no surprise there) but other off-roading machines are welcome.

Second, you’ll want to pack any food, water, and alcoholic beverages you might need for the trip. There are stores in Moab but with the crowds, there are also long lines. Save time and money by packing your own supplies.

Third, you’ll want to prepare for the sun. Bring along sun lotion and plenty of water, both of which are a must whenever venturing out into the red rocks of Moab, Utah. Temperatures this time of year can reach into the mid-’80s . With very little natural shade, you could be in for a hot ride.

blog-easter-jeep-jedco-tours-t-shirt

Fourth, layered clothing is a great idea in the high desert climate. The temps tend to be milder in the spring, but rapid weather changes can occur. You’ll want to make sure you’re comfortable enough to have fun.

Lastly, the Red Rock 4-Wheeler Club encourages all participants to carry a safety kit. This should contain a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, tow strap, spare tire, and a jack. That way, you’ll be prepared for anything on the trail.

The Best Easter Jeep Safari Ever

When the official event started in 1967, it was a single-day ride that took place on the Saturday before Easter. Since then, the Easter Jeep Safari has grown substantially, encompassing nine days and over 2,000 participants . Many changes have been made over the event's 55-year history. While the event is bigger and better than ever, the 1978 Jeep Safari is legendary.

That year, more people came to watch the Saturday Jeep Safari and Sand Drag Races than ever before. With the number of participants and spectators, Moab’s population nearly doubled in size. There were about 1,500 paying customers at the Safari, which meant that the races could have larger purses. An astonishing 473 rigs turned out to participate in the event. The positive reception among locals and participants alike ensured that Safari would continue for decades to come.

Every Jeep enthusiast should experience the Easter Jeep Safari at least once. The event is an awesome way to test your rig on gnarly trails amid breathtaking scenery. But with knowledgeable guides and trails of varying difficulty, it’s also a safe first step for people interested in getting into back-country driving. This annual event puts Moab on the map for Jeep lovers each year and makes great memories for its participants. If you're looking for an extended stay in the beautiful red rocks of Moab, Utah with a few thousand other Jeep fans, then the Easter Jeep Safari is for you. Check out the Red Rock 4-Wheeler Club to start planning your epic trip today.

Jeep Easter eggs are surprises hidden within the design of the Jeep. This tradition started in the 1990s and encompasses every Jeep model since. The most popular Easter egg is the iconic seven-bar grill design etched on the cowl of Jeep Wranglers by Micheal Santoro in 1997. Easter eggs often hint at a fact about the model, such as the area code 419 where Jeep Gladiators are manufactured, or nod to Jeep's history, such as an American-flag-shaped C-pillar vent on some models. These Easter eggs give Jeeps added surprise, making each one just a little bit more unique. Finding these hidden gems is exciting for all the Jeep enthusiasts out there.

TEASED: Jeep's Easter Safari Builds Look Very Special This Year

Here's what we can expect from the Toledo-based brand.

  • Jeep teases Easter Safari builds ahead of reveal
  • Images suggest military-inspired Wrangler and 392-powered desert racer
  • Easter Jeep Safari takes place in Moab, Utah, in the last week of March

Ahead of the 58th annual Easter Jeep Safari later this month, the Toledo-based automaker has teased two new concepts, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect in Moab, Utah, from March 23-31.

The first image showcases what appears to be a Wrangler painted in High Velocity with a black-painted seven-slot grille and trim details. It doesn't look that different from a standard Wrangler, but there are a few clues. The embossed 'Willys' text and font on the side of the hood are reminiscent of the original military Willys Jeep, suggesting that we may see another military-inspired build.

Jeep and the Willys nameplate are closely linked to 20th-century war efforts. US General Dwight D. Eisenhower admitted that victory wouldn't have been possible without the Willys Jeep and its capabilities.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jeep (@jeep)

Could This Be A Homage To The Universal Jeep?

Jeep may want to pay tribute to its roots with a build that will debut at the Easter Jeep Safari. Last year, the automaker debuted seven Easter Safari concepts , including the Jeep '41 Concept, inspired by the original Willys Jeep. Perhaps the automaker will take a different direction with the new concept, but there's also a possibility that it could be something else.

Above the hood, we can see a snippet of an old print advert titled "The Universal Jeep." This could reference the model of the same name (also known as the Jeep Universal) that Willys marketed in the 1950s and 1960s. These included the CJ-3A, CJ-3B, and early versions of the CJ-5. The build teased above could perhaps be a homage to these off-roaders.

The second model, pictured below, teases another build. But if we look at the clues properly, it won't be your average Jeep off-roader.

Hard at work on concepts from Easter Jeep Safari’s past — and looking forward to the future at Easter Jeep Safari® 2024. 💪 Concept vehicle and features shown throughout, not available for purchase. Posted by Jeep on  Thursday, March 7, 2024

A V8-Powered Off-Road Racer Could Be In The Cards

The second image showcases something racier and more aggressive. What appears to be Firecracker Red has been paired with a white racing stripe that flows over the vehicle's hood. On the lower part of said stripe, we can see a blurry '392' motif that suggests it will be V8-powered.

A 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi engine is delightful in an off-roader, but we have reason to believe this won't be your average rock crawler.

Flared fenders and prominent fender vents suggest this could be a hardcore rally or Baja build, similar to the crazy Trailcat that was previewed in 2016 . Perhaps Jeep will treat the 392 motor to some performance upgrades, but we will have to wait and see whether that happens. We just know that it will look fantastic.

Jeep has said we can expect "unrivaled heritage, bold color palettes and powerful propulsion suited for any adventure" from this year's batch of creative builds.

2022 Easter Jeep Safari: Jeep Goes All Out With 7 Awesome Concepts

2022 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts

Another Easter Jeep Safari means more pulse-quickening concepts from Jeep. The 2022 event brings six all-new Jeep concepts plus a big rework of one of the best from last year.

Jeep will include almost all of its powertrains in its 2022 Easter Jeep Safari (EJS) concepts.  They’ll take the spotlight at the yearly event, running from April 9 to 17 in Moab, Utah.

The 4xe plug-in hybrid, 6.4L V8, 3.0L Eco-Diesel V6, and even Pentastar are all represented. There’s even an EV with three times the torque of last year’s version. There’s one with its back end cut off, one that doesn’t even have somewhere to attach doors, and one that gets almost every part from the Jeep Performance catalog.

Each offers something special, from wild to “I could build that.”

Jeep is bringing a total of 10 Jeep- and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP)-branded concepts to the event. We’ve seen some of them before, at last year’s SEMA aftermarket show . So we’ll stick to the seven new 2022 EJS concepts.

They all look like potent off-roaders, but Magneto 2.0 and Bob are the builds that have our attention.

Mopar Goes Big With 7 Concept Vehicles for SEMA 2021

Every year, Mopar creates some insanely cool custom vehicles for the annual SEMA Show. Mopar created seven impressive builds for the 2021 SEMA Show. Read more…

2022 Jeep Magneto 2.0 Concept

Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept

Jeep brought a Magneto-badged EV to EJS last year , but you can forget about that one. Magneto 2.0 triples up last year’s entry in the power department. The first Magneto kicked 285 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, but version 2.0 has a custom-built axial flux electric motor that makes 625 horses and up to 850 pound-feet of torque.

Jeep needed a beefed-up six-speed manual ( that’s right: stick shift! ) for this 2022 EJS concept, so it sourced a modified Hellcat T6060 called Tranzilla.

First gear lets you drive up a wall, to use Jeep’s words. All of that torque is going through a 3.36 first gear, 5.38 axles, and a Rubicon Rock-Track transfer case. Translation? About a trillion pound-feet at the road.

The other effect of all of that torque from zero RPM is the ability to start in fourth gear if you feel like it. Because electric motors don’t idle, you don’t even need to use the clutch to start moving (a handy feature when you’re crawling over rocks).

Magneto 2.0 can hit 60 mph in 2 seconds, but that’s missing the point. It’s the one-pedal driving (thanks to the regenerative braking capability of EVs ) that will make this one of the best off-roaders in the business.

Jeep added 12 inches to the wheelbase of the two-door Wrangler to add room for the extra powertrain parts. A 3-inch lift helps Jeep fix the proportions.

And 40-inch tires on 20-inch wheels take advantage of all of the torque. To help make sure that the driveline doesn’t leave you stranded, there are Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 front and 80 rear axles with a custom driveshaft.

Jeep Bob Concept

Jeep Bob Concept

What do you do if you want the long wheelbase and cargo capacity of the Jeep Gladiator , but the back of the pickup bed is cramping your departure angles? You bob (read: shorten) it. That’s what Jeep did, slashing a foot of length off of the Gladiator from behind the rear wheels.

The shorter length lets it fit through gullies and around rocks where the full tail could get caught up.

Jeep didn’t stop there with the Sawzall. All four doors have been removed, along with the B-pillar. If the doors did still exist, you couldn’t put them back on. Jeep calls this “the ultimate open-air freedom.” We call it best suited to the desert and not anywhere that might see rain.

The top is a perforated hard roof, but Jeep stretched a canvas top over it. The idea is to give you some shelter from the elements, but still let natural light into the cab. And the stretched look is super-cool.

Under the vented carbon fiber hood is the 3.0L Eco-Diesel V6.

Custom steel bumpers front and rear should take an off-road pounding. They also help improve the approach and departure angles by a few more degrees over the bobbed tail.

Other off-road gear includes Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 axles for durability and King coil suspension with bypass shocks. Its 40-inch tires on beadlocks get you up and over obstacles, and a 3-inch lift lets those big tires fit without hitting anything important.

Jeep ’41 Concept

jeep '41 concept

Jeep is proud of its roots dating back to 1941, with badges making sure you know that on almost everything it makes. This 2022 EJS concept takes that pride in its origins to the next level.

The retro concept started as a Wrangler 4xe . Then Jeep wrapped the whole thing in olive drab — e ven the vintage-look steel wheels by Fifteen52. Half-doors, a 2-inch lift, and 35-inch mud tires set off the exterior look.

A tan soft top pairs with the new interior. Canvas-covered seats get digital camo inserts to go with the tan shade.

The floor is Rhino-lined in matte green like the outside, and the gauge faces come in the same green shade. This one manages to be cool enough and mild enough that we could see Jeep putting most of it into production.

Jeep Birdcage Concept by JPP

Jeep Birdcage Concept

This 2022 EJS entry debuts a JPP 2-inch lift with FOX shocks designed and tuned specifically for the plug-in Wrangler 4xe. It’s the first 4xe-spec lift from Jeep, letting PHEV owners have more fun.

Thirty-seven-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires mounted on 17-inch JPP beadlock wheels provide traction for the 2.0L four-banger and its electric motor when you’re scrambling over tough terrain.

A first on Birdcage are new flat fender flares that hold removable daytime running light covers. Jeep says they’re the first 50-state legal flares with OE DRLs and the first to meet 50-state tire coverage requirements.

So if you want to fit big meats and stay street legal, watch the JJP catalog . Spacers for the taillights are new and better protect the lights from trail damage while meeting all legal requirements.

Tobacco leaf paint and cocoa brown leather seats will catch your attention, but don’t overlook what’s in the back. An Add-A-Trunk concept decklid from Mopar has locking storage to fit a full-size cooler. Plus, the lid swings on gas struts when the tailgate is open. Eight tie-down loops and five bag hooks let you store gear securely in the trunk, and you can pile even more gear securely on top.

Don’t forget the front bumper. This 2022 EJS concept gets a custom two-hoop steel bumper and rock slider. Mounted to that and integrated into the grille is a WARN winch, tucked up and out of harm’s way.

Lastly, rock sliders protect the underside of the body while rock lights try to keep you from touching terrain in the first place.

Jeep D-Coder Concept by JPP

Jeep D-Coder Concept by JPP

The Jeep D-Coder name comes from the QR (quick-response) codes stuck on almost every part of this Jeep Gladiator.

This 2022 EJS concept is a rolling showcase of JPP and Mopar accessories; it wears more than 35 of them. Maraschino red accents against gloss black set up a contrast to make sure you can see them.

Up front is a three-piece modular bumper with a tube grille and winch guard. It has a 2-inch JPP lift kit with FOX shocks and 37s from BFG mounted on JPP five-spoke wheels.

The D-Coder gets a JPP Gorilla Glass windshield with 5-inch LED lights mounted to JPP brackets on each side. JPP tube doors and JPP tube-door mirrors let you see, and Mopar grab handles help you get in and stay in place.

Katzkin red leather seats match the other accessory parts.

Every accessory listed here, and the remaining two dozen in the truck, has a QR code. Scan the code to you’ll arrive at Jeep or Mopar’s site for specs and pricing.

Jeep Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept

Jeep Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept

Back in the early 2000s, a small group of hardcore Jeep off-roaders put together a Wrangler just for them. Locking differentials and articulation-aiding sway bar disconnects, they reasoned, could help them get farther out than ever.

Jeep called it the Rubicon, launched it, and expected to sell a handful and be done with it. Twenty years later, the Rubicon name still sells as strongly as ever.

The 20th Anniversary model starts with a Wrangler Rubicon 392 and its 6.4L V8. Then, Jeep fit it with custom-built half-doors and a one-touch power roof. Removable side panels add to the open-air experience.

It wears a Granite Crystal wrap with a special 20th-anniversary hood logo. Jeep has also given this Rubi gold tow hooks and badges and an American flag fender sticker.

Because no Easter Jeep Safari concept is complete without one, it gets a 2-inch lift, plus 37-inch mud tires and a WARN winch.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk PHEV Concept

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk PHEV Concept

OK, some of these concepts aren’t as wild as past EJS events. But it’s not all Wranglers or Gladiators, either.

Jeep is bringing a concept 4xe Trailhawk Grand Cherokee that boosts the off-road capability of the latest Grand Cherokee and its PHEV driveline while making sure it can still unobtrusively power through the wilderness.

Mechanical changes include the 33-inch BFG mud-terrain tires on 20-inch wheels. Sorry, no 35s on this one. Even with the new trimmed wheel wells and widened flares, there isn’t quite room for those.

The exterior is a custom Industrial Blue paint with an anti-glare matte hood decal. Vinyl graphics low on the doors are designed to help protect from pinstripes caused by trailside snags.

On the inside, Jeep has added custom saddle-color seats with houndstooth inserts as well as 4xe badges. Cosmetic? Yes. Still pretty cool? You bet.

2021 Jeep Concepts: The 'Easter Safari' Off-Road Beasts You Need to See

Jeep continues to bring jaw-dropping concept vehicles to the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. After a tumultuous year, 2021 brings us the 2020 Jeep concepts that never made it to Moab last year. Read more…

2022 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts

While these 2022 EJS concepts are all fun to look at, they all also run. We’re looking forward to taking the Magneto 2.0 for a rip at EJS next week. Zero to 60 mph in 2 seconds and 625 horsepower on a lifted EV? Stay tuned to hear about what that’s like.

Speaking of EVs, how far down the road is a production-ready electric Jeep Wrangler? Jeep has said its first EV will arrive next year . And while we don’t think that’ll be a Wrangler, we think one is going to happen sooner rather than later.

It’s hard not to get excited about the prospect, especially if Jeep gives it the Magneto 2.0’s stick shift. An off-roader that doesn’t shatter the desert solitude with noise and also won’t overheat and puke coolant and oil all over the trail? Yes, please.

As for the JJP  concepts, you can get most of that stuff now, online or through your dealer. You might not be able to copy the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari concepts, but you’ll be able to make your own.

2023 Easter Jeep Safari to Reveal EV Concepts

The 2023 Easter Jeep Safari is happening soon. Here is a sneak-peek at a few of the electric concept vehicles Jeep will be unveiling.

Easter Jeep Safari to Reveal EV Concepts

2023 Easter Jeep Safari lineup of Jeep® brand concept vehicles

2023 Easter Jeep Safari lineup of Jeep brand concept vehicles

Every year in the beautiful red rock setting of Moab, Utah, is the Easter Jeep Safari. Jeeple (Jeep people) of all shapes and sizes make their way into the picturesque desert to show off their incredible builds, participate in off-road challenges and surround themselves with like-minded enthusiasts. Though, for Jeep (and some other manufacturers that sneak in), it's a chance to show Jeep owners what's coming down the pipe.

For the most part, it's Jeep unloading concepts upon concepts. Easter Jeep Safaris of the past have been no exception – it's where the Jeep Hemi was introduced, the PHEV hybrid and all-electric concepts were unveiled – and this year will be no different. According to Jeep, there are four electrified concepts that are incredible, even for non-Jeep owners.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Concept

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Concept

First up, the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. No, nothing special has been done to the powertrain or the four-wheel-drive system, but it does come with a rather festive paint job. Jeep was overwhelmed by the support for the pink edition they brought a few Safaris ago, so this year, they'll be bringing a magenta version.

The grille's design is the same as seen on the 20th Anniversary Edition Wranglers, though the hood has a two-tone decal and design package that's unique to the magenta version. Instead of stock Jeep wheels, the magenta 4xe runs 37s on 17-inch American Expedition Vehicles. Forever a favorite among the Jeeple, AEV also provides the front and rear bumpers, which house the Warn Zeon winch.

Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0 Concept

Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0 Concept

Next is the Magneto 3.0 EV concept. For three years in a row, Jeep has brought an all-electric concept to the Safari, with no word on when an all-electric version would be produced. This time, though, Jeep will be bringing out the Magneto 3.0 Wrangler concept.

Incredibly, the all-electric powertrain would still be paired with a traditional manual transmission, which would transfer 625 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque to the 4x4 drivetrain. Even with that much power under the pedal, Jeep swears that, unlike the other concepts, the range and mileage have been "greatly approved."

1978 Jeep Cherokee 4xe Concept

1978 Jeep Cherokee 4xe Concept

Serving as the resident resto-mod is the 1978 Cherokee 4xe concept – a plug-in hybrid that pays incredible homage to the era. Underneath the time-appropriate frame is the Wrangler's 4xe powertrain – two electric motors paired to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo – while on the inside, all the color and character of the 70s are in full swing.

Mixed with the groovy styling, though, is a tasteful blend of modern technology and creature comforts. From the brown leather seats, the driver is behind a modern Jeep steering wheel, complete with all the deliciously modern technological goodies, like air conditioning, terrain select mode and more.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure Concept

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure Concept

Finally, the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure concept. This is the concept that will make saying "tubular" popular again. The grille has a tubular seven-slotted guard to protect the radiator and lights, and all four doors have been swapped for tubular framing. For extra seating at a campsite, the front grille guard can also be used as a bench.

Covered with Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) aplenty, the Dark Harbor Rubicon plug-in hybrid concept has JPP's factory-made 2-inch lift kit, 37-inch all-terrain tires, and beautifully bronze 17-inch wheels. Keeping well in line with the "Departure" moniker, the spare tire holder has been swapped for a tubular holder that's removable to help improve the departure angle.

For the first time in all 50 states, the Departure will be fitted with flat fenders that are 100% legal, don't compromise space in the wheel wells for larger tires and meets OEM lighting requirements and tire coverage.

  • Jeep unveils four new concept vehicles for 2024 Easter Jeep Safari, catering to all off-road enthusiasts with different powertrains.
  • The Low Down concept pays homage to the Wrangler Rubicon 392 with a custom overhaul and 475-hp Hemi V8 engine.
  • The Dispatcher features a 375-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain with a retro look and luxurious interior, blending history with modernity.

For this year's 2024 Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep and Mopar-led Jeep Performance Parts introduce four new concepts vehicles . With powertrains ranging from the beloved 392 Hemi V8 to the 4xe hybrid, there are concepts here that appeal to every kind of off-road enthusiast.

HotCars' own Editor-At-Large Chris Tonn was on hand for the initial press reveal and had this to say: "[The] designers and engineers try and get to events like the Easter Jeep Safari to see what people are using out on the trails - both for function and for style. Things that have trickled down from existing users have made their ways into Easter Jeep Safari concepts and then eventually into production vehicles."

2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition Goes Out With A Hemi-Powered Bang

Jeep low down.

For all those out there lamenting the gradual demise of the Hemi V8, Jeep has some good news for you in the form of the Jeep Wrangler-based Low Down concept. While Jeep is sadly killing off the short-lived V8 Wrangler Rubicon 392 this year, this off-road Mopar is paying homage by giving the model a custom overhaul while still retaining its 475-hp 6.4-liter naturally aspirated Hemi V8 under the hood.

Jeep Low Down Concept Key Features

  • 475 hp 6.4-liter naturally aspirated Hemi V8
  • Poison Apple Red paint and white decals
  • Custom bodywork and carbon hood with power dome
  • 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler mud-terrain tires and 20-inch beadlock wheels

Aside from the eye-catching red paint, the most notable feature of the Low Down concept is the frankly enormous 20-inch gold beadlock wheels wrapped in gigantic 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler mud-terrain off-road tires . To get everything to fit, the Jeep also has custom high-clearance fenders and shorter overhangs front and rear while retaining the stock Wrangler Rubicon 392 suspension. Here are Chris' impressions from attending the Low Down concept's reveal:

"The red 392 Wrangler is inspired by race cars, of all things — they had pictures of vintage Ferraris and Lancias on screen. They put 40-inch tires on a Rubicon without lifting it, so it looks lower and more hunkered down."

Meanwhile, the standard Dana 44 axles with 4:10 gears have been replaced by Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears. Jeep claims all these changes allow for a significant increase in approach and departure angles with higher ground clearance while retaining a low center of gravity. The interior has also seen some changes, with a simplified dash removing the infotainment screens and the addition of custom black leather and cloth seats.

The 10 Most Reliable Jeeps On The Used Market

Jeep willys dispatcher.

The second of the Wrangler-based concepts is a minty green Jeep dubbed the Dispatcher. The Dispatcher features the 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain , producing 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and Dana 50 Advantech front and rear axles. Here's Chris's take:

"They made a note that the mail delivery Jeep was once called a Dispatcher, but unlike that old one this does indeed have 4WD. Willys embossed logo on the hood - a glimpse of postwar Americana. History meets the future. They put flat fenders on there, and a houndstooth-type material on the seats."

On the outside, the Dispatcher has a custom old-school front bumper and ‘WILLYS’ lettering embossed on the side of the hood, paying homage to the early flat-fender Jeeps . A Warn Epic Series winch continues the more utilitarian theme. The wheels are also appropriately retro, with the Dispatcher sitting on a set of cream 16-by-7.0-inch alloy “steelies” wrapped in Super Traxion 36-inch tires. Meanwhile, custom Element 115 Green paint finishes off the old-school aesthetic.

The inside is also a throwback, albeit with a far more luxurious interior feel than any Jeep of yesteryear. The distressed saddle brown leather and houndstooth cloth seats make do without a headrest, which is said to invoke a more laid-back, vintage feel.

Jeep Wrangler Upgrades: Top 12 Mods For Beginners

Jeep gladiator rubicon high top.

Moving up in size, the next concept we’re looking at is the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top concept, built by Jeep Performance Parts to showcase their extensive customer catalog. Under the hood is slightly more underwhelming, with the High Top housing the more pedestrian 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. However, the 40-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires and 18-inch Satin Black KMC Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels make far more of a statement.

The High Top also rides tall on AccuAir adjustable air suspension , with Concept JPP flat fender flares all around, providing optimal ground clearance. The exterior also features an American Expedition Vehicles front bumper with a Warn winch sitting below a custom protective hoop.

The Ginger Snap metallic paint adorns the body, along with a two-tone black livery - a color theme that continues on the inside with the custom two-tone leather seats. The High Top also features a decked truck bed storage system and rock-slider rocker panels with power-retractable steps.

What To Expect When You Daily-Drive A Jeep Wrangler

Jeep vacationeer.

Last but not least we’re moving away from the more classic style of Jeep and looking at the Grand Wagoneer-based Vacationeer SUV. However, in an interesting twist, the second and third rows of seats are now gone in favor of an open space, which leads to the custom, carbon-fiber RedTail Overland SkyLoft tent box sitting on top of the roof .

The SkyLoft has space for two to sleep, and Jeep says it’s even climate-controlled, likely thanks to the integrated solar panels. Aside from the seat delete, the interior itself has also received a massive retro-inspired overhaul, with wood-effect paneling throughout. Chris told us his observations of the Vacationeer's interior:

"The woodgrain has a 3-D texture to it to make it look/feel like actual wood. The plaid inserts within the seats have a bunch of Jeep easter eggs within and they look properly vintage in my estimation."

As for the powertrain, the Vacationeer has the much-talked-about turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six Hurricane engine , which is also set to feature in the next-generation Dodge Charger muscle car. It seems as though Jeep and JJP have brought out all the stops this year, and we’re certain the 20,000-strong Jeep community will love what they see when these concepts turn up at Easter Jeep Safari 2024.

Mopar Announces Concept Jeeps for 2022 Easter Jeep Safari

April 8, 2022

Electrified power, legendary 4×4 capability and commanding performance will be front and center during this year’s Easter Jeep® Safari, the Jeep brand’s home away from home. The Jeep brand and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar team are bringing their A game with an extraordinary lineup of custom-built 4×4 and 4xe concept vehicles to conquer the iconic red-rock terrain in Moab, Utah. Thousands of off-roading enthusiasts and Jeep brand loyalists from all over the world will descend upon Moab, April 9-17, for the weeklong annual tradition of trail rides and technical off-roading.

“Easter Jeep Safari is the perfect opportunity for the Jeep brand to push the limits of four-wheel-drive development and, most importantly, to stay connected with our customers,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “Moab is a rite of passage for many Jeep owners, and to own a Jeep is to truly understand the lifestyle – it’s what the Jeep brand is all about. Whether it’s a Jeep concept or the latest Jeep production vehicle, our customers have the chance to get up close and personal with our passion projects during this event. From a fully capable BEV off-roader to rugged and powerful terrain tacklers, every concept is a true reflection of what our customers tell us they want and give a taste of where the future of the Jeep brand and off-roading can go.”

Electrified power, legendary 4×4 capability and commanding performance will be front and center during the 56th annual Easter Jeep Safari, the Jeep® brand’s home away from home. The Jeep brand and Jeep Performance Parts by Mopar (JPP) team are debuting an impressive lineup of custom-built 4×4 and 4xe concept vehicles, including the all-electric Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 concept.

This year, 10 distinctive Jeep brand and JPP concept vehicles are equipped with an array of advanced powertrains. The notable lineup is punctuated by the triumphant return of Jeep Wrangler Magneto, the first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) concept from the Jeep brand. The even more powerful and capable Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 and four additional Jeep 4xe concept vehicles are testament to the Jeep brand’s commitment to Zero Emission Freedom. Additionally, each concept features the latest production and prototype JPP from Mopar, developed with rigorous specifications and legendary 4×4 capability in mind.

“Teaming up with the Jeep brand, there is no better place than the annual Easter Jeep Safari to show off our latest production and custom innovations to true off-road enthusiasts,” said Mark Bosanac, North America vice president, Mopar service, parts & customer care. “Unlike any other aftermarket offerings, our factory-tested and factory-backed Jeep Performance Parts are specifically designed and engineered to face the toughest trails in the world.”

The 2022 Easter Jeep Safari concept vehicles include:

Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept A year ago, the Jeep Wrangler Magneto concept demonstrated that a battery-electric propulsion system would be true to the Wrangler’s heritage of on-road and off-road capability. A vehicle that demonstrates the Jeep brand’s dedication to Zero Emissions Freedom.

The Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 is amped up – literally – creating a terrain-dominating off-roader that carries you far, far off the beaten path.

how much does easter jeep safari cost

Jeep® Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept

The Magneto 2.0’s powertrain basics include: Custom-built axial flux electric motor that operates up to 5,250 rpm Six-speed manual transmission for ultimate control over the propulsion system Four lithium-ion battery packs, distributed throughout the chassis for weight balance, with a combined power of 70 kW/h, running an 800-volt system An inverter derived from race cars converts DC power to AC for the high-tech motor That’s a great start, but the Magneto 2.0 team set their sights on the “strap in and hold on with both hands” end of the performance spectrum.

Peak amperage in the propulsion system is more than doubled to 600 amps, which enables the Magneto 2.0 to instantly deliver up to 850 lb.-ft. of peak torque to the wheels – more than triple the torque output of last year’s concept – and 625 horsepower for serious rock-climbing challenges.

A new electric powertrain calibration maintains the peak amperage for up to 10 seconds – think of it as electronic nitrous oxide.

First gear ratio in the manual transmission is changed from 5.13 to 3.36. When combined with the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon’s Rock-Trac transfer case, the Magneto 2.0 demonstrates unequaled rock-crawling capability with its instant on-demand torque delivery. A driver-selectable maximum regeneration function added to the propulsion system offers a true “one-pedal” driving experience.

Getting all that torque to the ground calls for some hardware upgrades.

how much does easter jeep safari cost

It starts with 12 inches added to the wheelbase of the two-door Wrangler body style, creating some extra room for powertrain components and giving the Magneto 2.0 proportions similar to the “LJ” Wrangler Unlimited from 2004-06. Augmenting that stretch are a custom 3-inch lift kit and 40-inch off-road tires mounted on 20-inch wheels.

The stout, off-road specific chassis setup includes a Dynatrac 60 Pro-Rock front axle and a massive Pro-Rock Dynatrac 80 rear axle with a 5.38 ratio and lockers for both axles, custom driveshaft and an off-road suspension.

Custom, lightweight bumpers replace the factory units, front and rear. Carbon-fiber wheel flares, front and rear, cover the wide tires without adding much weight. These elements enhance the Magneto 2.0’s approach and departure angles on the trail.

Surf Blue paint, a custom carbon-fiber B-pillar, custom bikini top and carbon-fiber hood give Magneto 2.0 a powerful look. The custom hood includes a blue-tinted, transparent window that gives a view of the power unit underneath.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe Concept This spring, the Jeep brand is launching the first-ever electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which will deliver 56 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) and 25 miles of all-electric range. Easter Jeep Safari gives the Jeep brand and Jeep design team the opportunity to take production vehicles like the Grand Cherokee 4xe to the next level.

Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trailhawk PHEV Concept

Stealthy performance and quiet confidence are evident with this overlanding-inspired concept. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk concept pairs legendary Jeep 4×4 capability with electrified freedom to deliver ultimate fuel efficiency and driving range.

The most 4×4-capable and sustainable Grand Cherokee ever, the new Trailhawk 4xe, has conquered the Rubicon Trail in full-electric operation, and now it’s ready to tackle all that Moab has to offer. It features a new class-exclusive sway-bar disconnect, allowing for improved articulation and traction over rocks and rough terrain.

Like the new production Grand Cherokee 4xe, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe concept is powered by two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability. It’s also equipped with Jeep’s class-exclusive Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension to optimize ride performance, while the class-exclusive sway-bar disconnect delivers improved articulation and traction over rocks and rough terrain.

The overall design inspiration behind the Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk concept builds on the passion of overlanding Jeep SUV and pickup truck owners who dare to go off the grid and explore the unknown.

The concept boasts a custom Industrial Blue exterior, along with signature 4xe Lagoon Blue tow hooks and glare-proof black-and-blue matte Trailhawk hood decal. Adding to its adventuresome appearance is a custom roof rack with integrated tie downs, black painted Rhino Liner roof for added durability, custom fog light bezels with quad LED projector fog lamps and custom vinyl side graphics for protection against debris. Mopar rock rails add further protection against nature’s less-forgiving elements.

The interior incorporates custom saddle-colored upholstered seats with “Rodney” houndstooth inserts. The seats also feature the signature 4xe Trailhawk badge and Surf Blue stitching.

The off-roading rig also comes equipped with custom 20-inch painted Neutral Gray metallic matte wheels with 33-inch BFG mud-terrain tires. Trimmed wheel wells with custom widened flares are the perfect complement to the meatier wheel and tire combo.

Jeep ’41 Concept “Since 1941.” It’s notably displayed, a badge of honor on Jeep brand vehicles and a symbol of pride that recognizes the Jeep brand’s longstanding military heritage and legendary 4×4 capability leadership for more than 80 years.

During Easter Jeep Safari, the Jeep brand pays homage to Jeep vehicles of the past. This year, the spotlight shines brightly on the Wrangler Willys.

Jeep® ’41 Concept

Every Jeep brand vehicle has a unique story to tell, with a legacy that links back to the original Willys MB – a trusty 4×4 vehicle the U.S. Army specifically requested. The Willys MB did everything, went everywhere and was a significant influence on 4×4 vehicles built thereafter.

The retro Willys concept heading to Easter Jeep Safari this year blends military grit and determination with the Wrangler 4xe’s electric-vehicle technology. The concept’s 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain is capable of an estimated 49 MPGe and delivers up to 21 miles of nearly silent, zero-emission, electric-only propulsion, making it the most capable, technically advanced and eco-friendly Wrangler ever.

The Wrangler 4xe’s advanced powertrain provides a unique on- and off-road experience through the combination of two electric motors, a high-voltage battery pack, a high-tech 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine and robust TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.

The concept’s exterior color, including wheel flares and mirror caps, is honorably decorated in an olive D.R.A.B. ‘41 matte green finish, with black powder-coated steel bumpers, Warn winch and JPP bumper hoop. The retro trim cap accentuates a tan soft-top, while JPP half doors offer an enhanced open-air experience to let even more of the outside in. A custom stenciled graphics package from the Jeep Graphic Studio and accent-colored tow hooks are the finishing touches fit for a five-star general.

Inside the ’41 concept is a retro shifter with a customized shifter cap from the Jeep Graphic Studio, along with canvas-covered seats that feature digital camo inserts and Serafil 1043 stitching. A Rhino-lined heavy texture floor in D.R.A.B. ‘41 matte green adds durability. The concept’s instrument panel inserts are also painted D.R.A.B. ‘41 matte green and the cluster features a custom Willys retro graphic.

The ’41 concept sits on a JPP 2-inch lift kit and 35-inch mud-terrain tires with 17-inch Fifteen52 wheels painted in D.R.A.B. ‘41 matte green.

Jeep Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept Iconic off-roading destinations like the legendary Rubicon Trail in Northern California and the backcountry red-rock trails of Moab, Utah, are where boulder-conquering SUV legends are born. Twenty years ago, the Jeep brand introduced the most capable production vehicle of its time – the Wrangler Rubicon.

Jeep® Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept

Built around a new 2003 model-year, two-door Wrangler, and adorned with the legendary Rubicon trail name, the Wrangler Rubicon took the industry by storm in the summer of 2002. The iconic Rubicon model, inspired by the enthusiasts who dreamt about it and often tried to wrench one of their own, was now available to order straight from the factory, not to mention with a warranty. It was equipped with options unheard of at the time and not available on any production Jeep SUV, including Dana 44 axles, front and rear lockers, disconnecting sway bar, rock rails, oversized 31-inch mud-terrain tires and wheel flares to truly take off-roading to the next level.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon continues to be a “proof of concept” for the Jeep brand, where lessons learned in off-road meccas like Moab and feedback gleaned from enthusiasts and Jeep brand loyalists continue to push the brand and the entire Jeep lineup forward.

The Rubicon 20th Anniversary concept, based on the quickest, most powerful Wrangler yet – the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 – continues the legacy established two decades ago by setting the benchmark for performance and capability with its 6.4-liter V-8 engine, customized exterior and stunning interior.

The modified four-door Wrangler Rubicon 392 features an active dual-mode performance exhaust that switches between wild and outrageous, a performance hood with center scoop, custom-built half doors and Sky One-touch powertop with removable side panels for open-air freedom.

The concept’s matte Granite Crystal exterior vinyl wrap is accentuated with gold tow hooks and badging, a Rubicon 20th anniversary hood decal, American flag fender decal and Mopar swing gate air compressor.

For additional capability, a JPP 2-inch lift kit, 17-inch Mopar beadlock-capable wheels with 37-inch mud-terrain tires, steel bumpers and hoop with Warn winch and steel belly pan were added to help navigate treacherous terrain and challenging off-road conditions.

Jeep Bob Concept Designed to blur the lines between two mighty off-roaders, the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, the Jeep Bob concept is a playful spin on the popular trend of “bobbing” the long overhangs of pickup truck beds to make it the ultimate terrain tackler.

Jeep® Bob Concept

Based on a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, the most noticeable traits of this truck are not what’s on it, but rather what’s missing. All four doors and B-pillars have been removed for the ultimate open-air freedom. Additionally, a customized hardtop has been perforated and a canvas top has been stretched over top to provide shelter from the elements while allowing natural light through.

The Gladiator bed has been “bobbed” a full foot of length. Custom steel front and rear bumpers improve the vehicle’s approach and departure angles, and are built to withstand all the rigors of off-road use, while maintaining a stylish and sophisticated appearance. Inspired by the off-road performance world, high clearance flares make room for the larger rolling stock.

Off-road capability is further amplified by a 3-inch lift with custom off-road suspension components, Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 axles supported by a mix of King Coils and Bypass shocks, plus massive 40-inch tires are mounted to 20-inch beadlock wheels that, all combined, provide ultimate four-wheeling confidence.

The multi-finish exterior paint scheme mixes gloss and matte finishes for added flair and texture. Inside, bright bed-lined floors plus custom trimmed seats create a fun and sporty environment. A vented carbon hood adds a notable performance appearance and ensures better airflow to the engine.

The Bob concept is powered by the award-winning, turbocharged 3.0-liter Eco-Diesel V-6 engine. To handle greater torque loads, the EcoDiesel V-6 connects to a TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission, calibrated for low RPM shifts and to easily maneuver rigorous ground. It’s also equipped with a Mopar cold-air intake to further boost torque and improve fuel economy.

Jeep D-Coder Concept by JPP The Gloss Black Jeep Gladiator D-Coder concept carries more than 35 JPP and Mopar accessories, each painted in contrasting Maraschino Red and labeled with QR (quick response) codes, making this high-performance off-roader a rolling catalog of factory-tested and factory-backed items available for customer purchase.

Each scannable QR code provides a live link to the Mopar eStore consumer website for specific part numbers, specifications and pricing information. Enhanced QR codes on the bedside and hood link to the current JPP catalog.

Up front on the Gladiator D-Coder concept is a Rubicon three-piece modular bumper carrying a single-hoop tubular grille and winch guard with a pair of TYRI 7-inch LED off-road lights just above a Rubicon Warn winch. A JPP 2-inch lift kit with FOX shocks helps provide ample room for the JPP 17-by-8.5-inch five-spoke beadlock wheels riding on BFGoodrich KM3 37-inch tires.

On the front-passenger side, a JPP snorkel keeps water out of the 3.6-liter Pentastar engine when fording through high water depths while safely allowing air into the Mopar cold-air intake system under the hood. Completing the powertrain upgrade is a free-flowing Mopar cat-back dual-exhaust system. A JPP Gorilla Glass windshield offers up to three times the strength of a standard windshield. A pair of TYRI 5-inch LED lights mount securely in JPP A-pillar mounting brackets on each side of the cowl area.

Heavy-gauge steel JPP rock rails provide protection for the lower body panels and sit just below the JPP tube doors, fitted with JPP tube-door mirrors on both sides. Additional rock rails protect the truck bed behind the rear wheels and feature a replaceable nylon rock-rail trim cover. Mopar grab handles assist with easy entry and exit into the lifted cabin, while a Mopar mesh sunbonnet provides an enhanced open-air experience.

The distinct Maraschino Red contrasting theme continues inside the cabin of the Gladiator D-Coder concept with Katzkin leather covering both rows of seats. An enhanced QR code on each seat links directly to the Katzkin website for details on customizable leather options, including colors, stitching and accents, along with real-time pricing information.

Rounding out the interior are Mopar accessories, including four door-sill guards, stainless-steel pedal covers and all-weather floor mats throughout. Inside the truck bed, which is protected by a spray-in textured Mopar bedliner, a set of mounted Mopar bed rails carry a THULE low-profile cargo basket for additional storage space.

Jeep Birdcage Concept by JPP Designed as a wide-open-air extreme 4×4 machine, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Birdcage concept showcases a variety of custom accessory innovations from JPP and Mopar, while also proving its industry-best capability, as well as its class-exclusive, off-road 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Jeep® Birdcage Concept by JPP

Riding on an industry-first JPP 2-inch lift kit with FOX shocks, specifically engineered and tuned for the plug-in hybrid electric Wrangler 4xe, the vibrant Eagle Brown off-roader features Granite Crystal metallic and various signature Jeep 4xe Surf Blue accents.

Improving the front approach angle on the Wrangler 4xe Birdcage concept is a custom rock-slider skid plate that connects two rounded 2-inch steel support bars, integral to the custom seven-slot grille. The slider plate protects the recessed Warn winch, optimally placed for improved rock-crawling performance. For a unique appearance, two low-mount, Surf Blue closed-tow hoops are securely attached behind the skid plate to the side of the frame for improved tow performance. JPP five-spoke beadlock wheels measure 17 by 8.5 inches and are mounted with BFGoodrich KM3 37-inch tires. New custom flat-fender flares and wheel liners, designed specifically for larger wheel/tire combinations provide additional clearance.

The flat fender flares have integral removable daytime running light (DRL) covers for the off-road enthusiast who may require extra tire clearance for extreme off-road situations. This concept is the first 50-state legal fender flare with OEM DRL and meets 50-state tire coverage requirements.

For additional off-road protection with 37-inch tires, the Jeep design team created taillight spacers to meet federal lighting requirements. The resulting location of the light assembly enables the concept aluminum taillamp guards to better defend from trail mishaps. Illuminating the ground below the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Birdcage concept are underbody rock lights at all four corners while custom rock rails on each side feature additional slider tubes mounted for enhanced body protection.

For the serious off-roader who craves true open-air wheeling, the windshield and windshield wipers are removed. The design team tastefully closed off the instrument panel and created custom cowl and windshield-wiper filler panel covers, creating a smooth factory appearance while protecting against dirt and debris. Three concept header-mounted 14-inch JPP TYRI off-road LED lights provide sleek, modern lighting.

On the interior, Tobacco Leaf and Cocoa Brown leather seats feature distinctive seat inserts and Surf Blue accent stitching, which carries through on the instrument panel, steering wheel, shifter boot and emergency-brake handle. Front-seat occupants will find a custom JPP instrument-panel accessory rail that holds various mobile devices securely in place. Mopar stainless-steel pedal covers use black rubber pads to provide the driver with plenty of traction to the accelerator and brake pedals. Armorlite vinyl floor throughout the cabin provides a durable and easy-to-maintain surface with drain plugs for rinsing.

The Mopar design team created the Add-A-Trunk concept decklid panel that provides security for accessories when the roof is removed. Designed for any Jeep Wrangler model with the capacity to store a full-size cooler with ease, the Add-A-Trunk feature uses gas-assisted shocks to lift the decklid panel out of the way for easy access when the swing gate is open. Eight tie-down loops and five grocery-bag hooks provide extra functionality.

For additional storage, a 600-pound capacity Rhino-Rack cargo basket is securely mounted to the top of the roll cage. Inside the tailgate panel, a JPP swing-gate flip-down table provides a perfect working or eating space and sits next to an integral on-board air compressor.

2021 SEMA Concepts Three additional head-turning Jeep concepts by JPP, recently introduced at the 2021 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show, will be making the trip to Moab for the first time.

Among the three Jeep concepts that debuted at SEMA, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe concept showcases how passionate off-roaders can build upon the award-winning SUV with factory-backed items from JPP. The Jeep Wrangler Overlook concept stretches a four-door Wrangler Sahara into a three-row off-roader loaded with luxury touches, while the intimidating Kaiser Jeep M725 concept is the transformation of a vintage 1967 Kaiser Jeep M725 military ambulance into an ultimate off-road support machine and rolling mascot for JPP.
