The Lions Karoo to Coast welcomes MTB, Gravel and E-Bikes, with Prize Winning Categories for all in 2024.

With E-Bike Entries tripling in 2023, the event now offers a FREE battery swop service and podium places for the top three ladies and men on E-Bikes!

The event is owned by the Lions Clubs of Uniondale and Knysna and all proceeds from the event go to Sightfirst, the South African Guide Dog Association and other urgent needs in the community.

The K2C Cycle Tour 2023 New Look

Have you heard the news?

Rotary Hoedspruit has introduced an exciting K2C Cycle Tour route for 2023 in three reserves open to, and adjoining, the Kruger National Park. This will be the only day of the year when 100 very privileged cyclists will be able to traverse the general wilderness of three of the most exclusive reserves in the Lowveld.

After 6 amazingly successful cycle tours Rotary Hoedspruit is changing the route to a circular one through Timbavati, Thornybush and Kapama Private Reserves.

See you there on 15th July 2023!!

Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

TRAINING TIPS

After months of dreaming and researching your tour will become a reality…..

Here are some tips to help you on your way

• Get miles into your legs – get cycling fit
• Train consistently especially the weeks leading up to the tour 
• Get used to cycling on different surfaces that you may experience on the route – especially sand
• Consider the route – practice climbing hills
• Be flexible- add cycling to your daily routine- don’t leave it to the last few weeks- start early
• Push yourself – the more you prepare the more you will enjoy yourself on the day
• Train in a variety of weather conditions – especially when it is hot 
• Get familiar with handling your bike – make sure you are very comfortable with your bike handling and functions-changing gears, braking and adjusting the bike- comfort is the king!
• You may need some physical conditioning to prepare.  Adequate preparation will make your ride experience even more enjoyable
• Due to the number of thorns encountered along the route, tubeless tires are a must.
• If you are riding an e-bike, make sure you understand the dynamics of riding on gravel roads and rough terrain. Ensure your battery caters for the duration of the tour.
