Land Rover Defender jeeps are waiting for you in Starigrad Paklenica. After meeting the drivers, we set off to the Canyon of Zrmanja River. We drive to the site where the movie Winettou was filmed, and from there we can enjoy beautiful view of the river Zrmanja. The wriggling river and almost 400 meters deep canyon that enters the Adriatic Sea are a breathtaking sight. After enjoying the view, it is time for morning coffee or juice on our half-hour brake and after that we drive through the south Velebit to a large valley. We stop in the valley and walk for a half an hour to the 260 meters deep pit called Mamut. After that, we go back to the valley to have lunch. After lunch we continue the drive and cross over to the north side of Velebit, we drive for an hour and a half to the pass Alan that offers a magnificent view on the Velebit channel. During summer, we visit the Zrmanja waterfalls where we enjoy swimming.

Velebit Jeep safari tour offers you the best! Take off-road adventure through Velebit Nature park and old macadam road. Visit filming locations of famous Winnetou and enjoy breathtaking view of the river Zrmanja Canyon.

SIGHTS & ATTRACTIONS:

Velebit  is one of the largest mountains in this area, about 145 km long, included in UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves. Majstorska cesta  is the first road that connected continental Croatia and Dalmatia region. It was built in 1832 and it is 41 km long. Inscribed in the Croatian List of protected cultural goods. River Zrmanja  is a 69 km long. It is one of the locations where were filmed Winnetou movies, based on Karl May’s novels. Tulove grede (Tulo’s Rafters)  are conglomerate of white limestone cliffs looking like crown rising from the body of a massive peak. In the nearby is the St. Francis chapel built in 1832.

PLAN OF THE TOUR: START:  9:15 END:  17:00 Duration:  8:00 hours

Terrain vehicles will lead you through mythic Velebit mountain full of history, abounded with unique karst landscape and nature diversity. Guides will tell you more about shepherds’ life that remained same for thousands of years and many more interesting stories. You will be amazed by the view from the southern slopes of Velebit mountain, where you will enjoy breathtaking view of the Adriatic sea and Zadar’s islands in one and the Paklenica National Park and Sveto brdo peak on the other. If you look closely you may spot Velebit’s wild horses. You will follow the trails of Winnetou and drive up to 1000 m of height to the foothills of Tulove grede, discover birth house of football player Luka Modrić and amazing river Zrmanja Canyon. Short drives are combined with many stops so you can take a walk, take photos or refresh yourself. Lunch will be served in the heart of the mountain, on a rural estate built from stone. Later you will proceed to the viewpoint at Zrmanja Canyon. Zrmanja river is surrounded by 200 m high cliffs and with its clear emerald water and untouched nature will most definitely steal your heart and make this excursion an unforgettable experience. This tour will end when you return to the staring point.

The small farm is engaged in the cultivation of olives, vines, cereals and vegetable crops, as well as the production of extra virgin olive oil, red and white wine. Olives are grown traditionally, and production is done by cold pressing. Composer Hans Zimmer adds extra show in Las Vegas for live tour

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Hans Zimmer has added a second performance in Las Vegas this fall.

The acclaimed film composer will headline a concert for "Hans Zimmer Live" at T-Mobile Arena on Oct. 12, according to a publicist.

"I’m so excited audiences in the entertainment capital of the world Las Vegas will get a second chance to see us," Zimmer said in a statement. "Get ready to be blown away!"

His first show, scheduled for Sept. 29 at The Theater at Resorts World, has already sold out.

Zimmer will lead an 18-piece live band and full orchestra in newly arranged concert suites. They will perform the music he composed for movies like "Gladiator," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "The Dark Knight," "Interstellar" and "Dune."

Tickets will go on sale starting Friday, June 21, at HansZimmerLive.com .

Almost 24 hours after Rory McIlroy collapsed at the U.S. Open , he took to social media to distill his thoughts.

“Yesterday was a tough day, probably the toughest I’ve had in my nearly 17 years as a professional golfer. Firstly, I’d like to congratulate Bryson. He is a worthy champion and exactly what professional golf needs right now. I think we can all agree on that,” McIlroy posted to his social media account .

“As I reflect on my week, I’ll rue a few things over the course of the tournament, mostly the 2 missed putts on 16 and 18 on the final day. But, as I always try to do, I’ll look at the positives of the week that far outweigh the negatives. As I said at the start of the tournament, I feel closer to winning my next major championship than I ever have.

“The one word that I would describe my career as is resilient. I’ve shown my resilience over and over again in the last 17 years and I will again. I’m going to take a few weeks away from the game to process everything and build myself back up for my defense of the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open at Royal Troon. See you in Scotland.”

McIlroy will skip this week’s Travelers Championship , the final Signature Event of the 2024 season. He will also not play in the Rocket Mortgage Classic and the John Deere Classic in the subsequent weeks—the final two events before the PGA Tour heads to Scotland.

Golf fans will see him next at the Genesis Scottish Open , scheduled to begin on Thursday, Jul. 11. McIlroy won that event last year in thrilling fashion, making a birdie on the final hole to eclipse Robert MacIntyre by one.

McIlroy has also had a lot going on in his personal life. He was spotted in Florida on Monday with his wife, Erica, and daughter, Poppy, just one week after the couple called off their divorce. The New York Post first reported the news of their sighting.

‘Unlike any other city’: Oscar winner adds second Las Vegas show

The composer behind such films as “The Lion King,” “Gladiator” and “Dune” will close out his 2024 tour with a show at T-Mobile Arena.

The Oscar-winning composer is producing a sequel on the Strip.

Hans Zimmer is adding an Oct. 12 show at T-Mobile Arena. This follows the blockbuster sales of his previously announced Sept. 29 performance at Resorts World Theatre.

Zimmer is excited for his star turn in Vegas.

“Las Vegas is unlike any other city in the world,” the acclaimed musician told the RJ. “There is so much entertainment packed into the iconic Strip, it seems only fitting to come back for a double dose of Hans Zimmer Live. The last show of the tour will not disappoint.”

The show closes Zimmer’s 2024 tour. Music will be delivered by an 18-piece band, along with a full orchestra.

Zimmer’s most recent U.S. performance was at Coachella in 2017. His most recent tour of the U.K. consistently sold out.

Zimmer is best known for his scores for such feature films as “The Lion King,” “Gladiator,” the “Dark Knight” trilogy, “Dune” and “Dune: Part Two.” He won the Oscar for Best Original Score for “The Lion King” in 1995 and for “Dune” in 2022. The newly arranged material includes music from those films, along with “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Interstellar” and “The Last Samurai.”

The German-born composer has also garnered four Grammys and three Golden Globe honors.

“I come from rock and roll and I believe in putting on a show,” the 66-year-old composer said in an Associated Press interview this past March. “People stay with us because we give them an experience which they’ve never had before. … Life is hard. Life is tough these days. And people worked hard to go to pay for these tickets, so we better pull off a show that is absolutely worthy of them coming and seeing us.”

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship makes its much-anticipated return to Sahalee Country Club for the first time in eight years. The venue located in Sammamish, Washington – a 35-minute drive east of downtown Seattle – welcomes the best in women's golf for just the second time in the major championship’s illustrious history. A star-studded field is poised to compete again this year, and here's a closer look at not just the players in the field but also what you need to know about this week's KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Nelly Korda headlines the field at the season’s third major championship as she makes her debut at Sahalee Country Club. The Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 will be looking to recapture the magic that lifted her to six wins early in the season as she arrives on the West Coast off back-to-back missed cuts at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally and the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give.

In 2021, Korda won her first major title at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club and is joined at Sahalee by eight other past winners, including defending champion Ruoning Yin, Sei Young Kim (2020), Hannah Green (2019), Danielle Kang (2017), Brooke Henderson (2016), Yani Tseng (2011, 2008), Cristie Kerr (2010) and Anna Nordqvist (2009).

Also poised to compete is Lydia Ko, who finished runner-up to Henderson at Sahalee in 2016, and continues her quest to secure the last remaining point she needs to qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame. It was at Sahalee in 2016 that Inbee Park qualified for the Hall after completing 10 years of membership on the LPGA Tour.

Other notables in the field include Lilia Vu, who won the Meijer LPGA Classic in her first start since March after returning from a back injury. Vu defeated Grace Kim and Lexi Thompson on the third playoff hole at Blythefield Country Club to capture the win. Thompson is also in the field and is competing in what is expected to be her final KPMG Women’s PGA Championship after she announced her retirement at the U.S. Women’s Open. Kim will tee it up at Sahalee as well.

Ruoning Yin Defends

At Baltusrol Golf Club in 2023, Ruoning Yin won her first major title in thrilling fashion with a closing birdie on the 72nd hole to win by a single stroke at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Yin held off a Sunday charge from Yuka Saso to join Shanshan Feng as just the second player from China to win a major championship on the LPGA Tour. Yin’s victory at Baltusrol was her second of the season, and she was elevated to Rolex Rankings No. 1 with her outstanding performance throughout the season. But as Yin prepares to defend her title, she does so in the midst of what has been a challenging year with just two top 10s on her 2024 resume.

Henderson’s History at Sahalee

A 19-year-old Brooke Henderson cemented her status as a world beater after defeating Lydia Ko to win the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2016. It was the first time the venue hosted the major championship, and Henderson felt right at home amongst Sahalee’s towering, tree-lined fairways, which reminded her of her home in Canada. She found a spark early in the week when she made a hole-in-one on her fourth hole of the tournament and won a car. Three days later, Henderson came from two strokes back on the final day with a bogey-free, 6-under, 65 to force a playoff with Ko, who she promptly defeated on the first extra hole by sticking her approach to within three feet of the hole for birdie and the win. The victory marked the first of two major titles for Henderson, who has become the winningest golfer, male or female, from Canada with 13 LPGA Tour wins. She returns to Sahalee looking for some momentum as she remains in search of her first title of the year despite carding five top 10s through the first part of the year.

Celebrating an Anniversary

It was 10 years ago that KPMG and the PGA of America partnered with the LPGA in order to breathe new life into what had been known as the LPGA Championship. Since that alliance and rebranding occurred, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship has been staged at some of the most elite venues in the game of golf, from Hazeltine to Olympia Fields to Baltusrol’s Lower Course. Along with premier venues, the major championship has enjoyed an ever-increasing purse that has risen to $10 million. Through the rebranding of this major championship, the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit was also created and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, as well. The 2024 summit features Academy Award winner Geena Davis as keynote speaker, in addition to author Angela Duckworth and KPMG CEO Paul Knopp. Watch the entire summit steam live on June 19 from 12-7 p.m. ET at KPMG.com/WomensLeadership.

LPGA Returns to Sahalee

Sahalee Country Club, whose name means “high heavenly ground” features more than 7,500 trees and hosted its first women’s major when the club welcomed the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2016. Sahalee hosted its first major, the PGA Championship, in 1998. The club also played venue to a World Golf Championship in 2002 as well as the U.S. Senior Open in 2010. Sahalee Country Club was designed by Ted Robinson and reworked by Rees Jones in 1996 and again in 2022. This week, the course will play at 6,731 yards and to a par 72.
