How to Apply

• Go to SAB Online or SAB Mobile Application
• Click on “Apply for SAB Umlaty Card”.
• A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your phone for you to authenticate
• Product information page will be displayed, click next.
• Read and accept the Terms & Conditions and approval to debit your Current Account with the issuance fee.
• A confirmation message will be displayed and your card will be delivered by courier to the registered mailing address.

Recharge the card

• Transfer from your Current Account to any of the wallets (eg. USD Wallet or SAR Wallet...)
• Transfer from any of the wallets back to your Current Account.
• Transfer from wallet to wallet
• Once you select the desired amount you want to purchase in a foreign currency, a rate and a total will be shown prior to you accepting the transfer.
• If you are satisfied with the transfer, click “Confirm” and the designated wallet will be funded instantly and the card will be ready for use.
• If you are in a country that is not supported by any of the card’s 6 currency wallets, please make sure your SAR wallet is funded. All transactions will be debited from the SAR wallet.
• If you want to use the card locally, you can transfer the amount to the SAR Wallet to use the card in the Kingdom.

What is a SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

It is a Travel Card which allows the cardholder to have multiple currencies in a single card. Now you don’t need to queue up at an exchange Teller for foreign currency cash. Just log into the SAB mobile App or SAB Online to transfer funds from your account to your SAB Umlaty Visa card, then transfer funds to your foreign currency wallet at the available exchange rate. International transactions in that currency will no longer be subjected to any Forex related charges or markups.

Which currencies can be loaded to an SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

US Dollars (USD), Euro (EUR), British Pound (GBP), United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED), Turkish Lira (TRY), Saudi Riyal (SAR).

Do I need to be a current SAB Customer to apply for the card?

Yes, you need to have an existing current/saving account with SAB in order to apply for the Card.

How do I apply for a SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

By going to SAB Online  and clicking on «Apply Umlaty Card» or by downloading our SAB mobile App from the App Store or Google Play.

What documents do I need to submit when applying for SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

If you are a current SAB Customer, simply go online to the SAB Online or SAB Mobile Application where you can apply for the card.

No documents are needed as the application process is digital.

What is the limit that I can load to the Card?

Your limits of the card are a maximum load of SAR 200,000 or its equivalent (in other currencies) at any one time. A daily purchase limit of SAR 200,000 or its equivalent (in foreign currencies) will apply.

• Should not exceed 10 transaction per day.
• The daily purchase limit is 200,000 Saudi riyals or its equivalent in a foreign currency

Using the SAB Umlaty Visa Card

When can I start using the Card?

Once you have received your card, registered it and set your PIN, you can then load your Card and use it.

How do I set up my PIN?

After you receive your card from the courier

Go to SAB Online or download our SAB mobile App from the App Store or Google Play

What do I do if I forgot or lost my login details?

Click on “forgot your password” in SAB UmlatyNet or in SAB Umlaty mobile App and it will then ask you to answer your memorable question. Once you answer it, a one-time-password will be sent to your registered mobile number to verify you, so you can then create a new password. If you have forgotten everything, you need to call the call centre and follow the procedure.

Where can I use the Card?

You can use your Card at around 37 million merchants around the world including KSA. You can also use it to make online purchases. When using your card in KSA, you must have sufficient balance in your SAR wallet. You can transfer any balances in your foreign currency wallets to the SAR wallet to use Umlaty at merchants or withdraw cash from ATMs locally. Please note foreign currency conversion rates apply.

What happens when I use my SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

If you make a purchase at a merchant for USD, only your USD wallet will be debited, with no additional charges for currency conversion. This works for all foreign currency wallets. On the other-hand, if you make a purchase at a merchant for a non-wallet currency, your SAR wallet will be debited and will incur a conversion rate to the SAR wallet

How do I add funds from another wallet if I run out of funds in my current wallet?

Log into your account through SAB Online or SAB Mobile App and transfer funds from one of your other wallets to the relevant currency wallet at a favorable foreign exchange rate. Please note that you will incur 2 exchange rate conversion; first from the foreign currency wallet to SAR and then from SAR to the new foreign currency wallet. We recommend to directly transfer from your account to the foreign currency wallet.

Can I use my SAB Umlaty Visa Card for online purchases ?

Yes, the Card supports online purchasing.

Can I use the Card to withdraw cash from ATM’s?

Yes, and the daily withdrawal limit is equivalent to SAR 5,000 per day from overseas or local ATMs There is a fee applied for each cash withdrawal transaction equivalent to SAR 23 inclusive of VAT and fees for local withdrawals inclusive of VAT. Please see the fees and charges section in the User Guide and Leaflet Funds. to be withdrawn should be enough to cover the fee.

Can I set a daily limit for the Card?

Yes, by using the SAB Online or through SAB mobile app.

Does SAB Umlaty Visa Card provide a better exchange rate and charges when compared to Debit or Credit Cards?

Yes, if you fund your wallet before your trip, you are less likely to incur fluctuating rates and foreign exchange fees when compared to a regular Debit or Credit Card.

SAB Umlaty Visa Card seems to have 6 currencies, does this mean that the Card cannot be used for other currencies?

If you travel to a country whose currency is not from the 6 currencies offered, then the transaction will be debited from the SAR Wallet and the currency conversion rates are applied to the transaction.

Once I transfer funds from one currency to another, how long will it take for the funds to appear in my wallets?

Immediately after purchasing the currency.

Do I need to inform the Bank of when & where I’m travelling for the relevant currency wallet to be debited?

No, the card will automatically debit the appropriate wallet depending on the destination. Although, it is always recommended to inform your bank if you are traveling to avoid any issues when it comes to using your cards internationally.

How many currency wallets are given by default in the SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

We currently offer 8 currencies: US Dollars (USD), Euro (EUR), British Pound (GBP), United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED), Turkish Lira (TRY) and Saudi Riyal (SAR).

At retail outlets and ATMs, I am often prompted to choose between home currency and local/destination currency? What am I supposed to do?

Always choose the local currency of your destination. E.g. if in the U.K. select GBP, if in the U.S.A. select USD

If I am in the UK and my Pound wallet is running low on balance but the Dollar wallet is funded, will the transactions go through?

No, you must transfer funds from your SAB current account or from your USD wallet using SAB through your account in SAABNET or SAB Mobile. Please note that if you transfer funds from your USD wallet, you will be subject to two currency conversion rates; USD to SAR and then SAR to GBP. Therefore, we recommend you transfer from your current account or SAR wallet and you will incur one conversion rate e.g. SAR to GBP.

What is the limit for purchases on SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

You can spend a daily limit of SAR 200,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies of your available balance in your wallets.

What do I select when making a transaction at an ATM or POS terminal?

Please select “Credit” and not “Cheque” or “Savings” option and this will access the available funds in the wallet.

Can I remotely reload the SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

Yes, you can reload the card from SAB Online or SAB mobile app.

How can I confirm that my Card has been reloaded?

You will receive a notification through SMS or by checking your wallet balance through SAB Online or SAB mobile app.

Can I issue cheques to load SAB Umlaty Visa Card?

No, you can only fund your wallets from your existing current/saving accounts.

There are mainly 3 types of credit cards in Saudi Arabia;

• Normal Credit Card.
• Secured Credit Card.
• Prepaid Credit Card.

If you want to get a credit card in Saudi Arabia without a salary transfer, you can opt for either a secured credit card or a prepaid credit card. We will explain the process to get each of them below.

Normal Credit Card

In order to get a credit card in Saudi Arabia with a salary transfer;

• Research which bank offers the best credit card.
• Open your bank account with that bank.
• Wait for 3 salaries to be transferred to the account.
• Apply for your preferred credit card. 

The bank will most likely approve your request and assign a credit limit.

Secured Credit Card

In order to get a secured credit card in Saudi Arabia without a salary transfer, you need to provide the bank with many requirements such as;

• Salary Slips for 3 months.
• Bank Statement for 3 months.
• Salary Certificate from the employer .
• Passport Copy.
• Iqama Copy.
• Print of Saudi national address .
• Address in the Home country.
• Details of loans/credit cards issued from other banks.

After checking all these requirements and your SIMAH credit report , the bank may approve or reject your credit card application.

Prepaid Credit Card

You can get a prepaid credit card without any additional requirements as it actually works like a debit card. You need to add balance to the card first and use it later. As there is no risk involved on the part of the bank, they issue it very easily.

Saudi Arabia: Here are the updated rules for Hajj 2024 that prioritise pilgrims' health and safety

Would-be pilgrims must meet vaccination criteria and obtain official permits

Dubai: Saudi Arabia has announced updated conditions for performing Hajj in 2024, which include several new requirements aimed at ensuring the health and safety of pilgrims.

The Ministries of Hajj and Umrah, along with the Ministry of Health, specified that all pilgrims must obtain a Hajj permit through the Nusk platform, which is crucial for the legitimacy of their pilgrimage.

Additionally, registration through the Sehaty application is required to verify vaccination status.

Key conditions set forth for the 2024 Hajj include:

• Mandatory registration in the Sehaty app to confirm necessary vaccinations.

• Residents within Saudi Arabia must have received the COVID-19 vaccine, influenza vaccine, and meningitis vaccine within the last five years.

• International pilgrims are required to have the Neisseria meningitidis vaccine administered at least 10 days but not more than five years prior to their arrival, verified by a certificate from their home country. They must also be vaccinated against polio.

Further general conditions for all pilgrims:

• A valid passport through at least the end of Dhu Al Hijjah 1445 (June 7, 2024).

• A minimum age requirement of 12 years.

• Vaccinations against COVID-19, seasonal flu, and meningitis.

• A health certification confirming the pilgrim is free from any infectious diseases.

The announcement follows a recent statement by the Council of Senior Scholars, emphasizing that performing Hajj without an official permit is considered sinful. The measures aim to facilitate the smooth conduct of Hajj rituals and to enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims, ensuring a safe and spiritually fulfilling experience for all attendees.
