Travel free with your Seniors Card

From Friday 1 July 2022, South Australian Seniors Card members can travel for free on Adelaide Metro buses, trains and trams – all day, every day. Any unused credit on SA Seniors Cards can be refunded or transferred to a different metroCARD.

Seniors Card & public transport

South Australian Seniors Card members can travel for free on Adelaide Metro buses, trains and trams – all day, every day.

Your Seniors Card is part of Adelaide's metroCARD public transport electronic ticketing system which is operational on all buses, trains and trams. The Seniors Card has the metroCARD technology built in which means you only have to carry one card to access discounts on goods and services and public transport.

Your Seniors Card is ready to use on public transport as soon as you receive it.

You'll need to validate your Seniors Card every time you board an Adelaide Metro bus, train or tram, even though your travel is free. It is important to separate Seniors Card from your other payment methods (cards, phones and devices) when you present it to the validator, to avoid an accidental payment.

New and replacement Seniors Cards are issued through the Seniors Card Unit.

How can I use my Seniors Card on public transport?

Your South Australian Seniors Card entitles you to free Adelaide Metro public transport at all times.

Your Seniors Card is part of Adelaide's metroCARD public transport electronic ticketing system which is operational on all buses, trains and trams. The Seniors Card has the metroCARD technology built in (Seniors metroCARD) which means you only have to carry one card to access discounts on goods and services and public transport.

Using your Seniors Card on Adelaide Metro public transport is easy and it's ready to use as soon as you receive it.

You'll need to validate your Seniors Card every time you board an Adelaide Metro bus, train or tram, even though your travel is free.

To validate, first separate your Seniors Card from your other payment cards, phones or devices, to avoid an accidental payment. Hold your card against the validator on your bus, train or tram. The validator will then indicate the following:

  • Green = validation success (free)
  • Red = validation unsuccessful (the card is not valid or has been disabled).

A beep and a green light means that it has validated properly.

If your card doesn't validate, speak with the bus driver or an Adelaide Metro staff member.

If you wish to access discounted parking at the Tea Tree Plaza Park ‘n’ Ride , you will need to add credit ($) onto your card.

New and replacement Seniors Cards (Seniors metroCARD) are issued through the Seniors Card Unit.

Do I need a different card to access discounts at businesses?

No. The Seniors Card entitles you to discounts and benefits at participating businesses as well as being your Seniors metroCARD for Adelaide Metro public transport. Refer to the Seniors Card Discounts & Deals Directory for business discounts.

Do I need to add credit to my Seniors Card?

From 1 July 2022, travel on Adelaide Metro public transport services is free all the time for South Australian Seniors Card members.

Seniors Cards will only require credit if members would like to access discounted parking at the  Tea Tree Plaza Park ‘n’ Ride .

How can I obtain a refund if there is unused credit on my card?

Any unused credit on SA Seniors Cards can be refunded or transferred to a different metroCARD.

To receive a refund, please visit the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre at the Adelaide Railway Station.

If you are unable to travel into the city, please call the Adelaide Metro InfoLine on 1300 311 108 for assistance (7am-8pm, daily). A customer service representative will assist with processing a refund.

There is no time limit on when you can receive your Seniors Card refund. Please travel to the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre for your refund, at a time that is convenient for you.

If you would like your credit transferred to a different metroCARD, please visit the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre with your Seniors Card and the metroCARD or call the Adelaide Metro InfoLine on 1300 311 108 (7am-8pm daily).

Please note:

  • refunds at the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre will be in cash only
  • refunds and credit transfers require the Seniors Card member to be present or available via phone
  • if you have less than $5 credit, the refund or credit transfer will need to be completed at the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre
  • credit, and a recent validation, will still be required on Seniors Cards to access the discounted parking at the  Tea Tree Plaza Park ‘n’ Ride .

How do I add credit to my Seniors Card for discounted parking?

You will only need to add credit ($) to your Seniors Card if you want to access the discounted parking at the Tea Tree Plaza Park ‘n’ Ride .

There are a few ways to add credit to your card.

Recharge your Seniors Card in person at:

  • metroCARD recharge agent - eg selected newsagents and convenience stores
  • Adelaide Metro InfoCentre at Adelaide Railway Station and recharge machines.

Simply present your Seniors Card and pay by cash, credit or debit card. The minimum recharge is $5 and the maximum amount you can store on your card is $200.

Phone the Adelaide Metro InfoLine on  1300 311 108 and transfer funds from your credit or debit card or set up auto-recharge which involves nominating a credit or debit card and an amount that will be automatically loaded onto your Seniors Card when it falls below the minimum amount.

If the recharge is completed before 9.00 pm, it will generally be available on your Seniors Card when you use it the next morning.

Recharge your Seniors Card online by logging into your metroCARD account on the Adelaide Metro website:

  • visit  www.adelaidemetro.com.au/seniors
  • click on 'Manage metroCARD'
  • enter your personal account details.

You can recharge your Seniors Card with a credit card or you can set up auto-recharge. Auto-recharge means nominating a credit card and an amount that will be automatically loaded onto your Seniors Card when your credit falls below the minimum of $15.

You can also check the balance remaining on your card and check transaction histories after you log in.

To access your metroCARD account on the Adelaide Metro website, you need to have a login and password.

Your login is the word 'SENIOR' followed by an underscore (_) and then your seven digit Seniors Card number (eg SENIOR_0000000).

If you need your password reset, please email  [email protected] and staff will email the details to you.

Once you have logged in for the first time, you should change your password. You can do this by clicking on 'update my details'. New passwords need to be between 8 and 16 characters long.

For more information, please visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au/seniors or call the Adelaide Metro InfoLine on 1300 311 108 (7am-8pm daily).

Do I need to touch my card on the validator when I get off the bus, train or tram?

No. However, you do need to validate when you enter and exit Adelaide Railway Station. Remember to separate your Seniors Card from your other payment cards, phones and devices to avoid an accidental payment.

Can I still transfer between services?

Yes, you can transfer to another service. Just validate your Seniors Card when you board or pass through barrier gates.

Can I use my Seniors Card on regional public transport services?

Adelaide Metro has contracted various private transport providers to run bus services in regions outside of Adelaide Metro's metropolitan network.

The private bus providers drive regular regional town and school routes, and connect smaller towns with regional centres. They also offer connection routes between regional areas and metropolitan Adelaide.

These providers offer concessions to South Australian Seniors Card members.

For more information, visit the Adelaide Metro website .

Can I take my mobility aid on Adelaide Metro public transport?

Yes. However, it is recommended that you refer to the  Adelaide Metro website for more specific information about safe travel for passengers using mobility aids on public transport.

What if my Seniors Card isn't working on buses, trains and trams?

If your card is faulty, use  Seniors Card member online services to order a replacement card.

Alternatively, contact the South Australian Seniors Card Unit:

There is no charge for a replacement card.

What customer details are held by Adelaide Metro?

Details in the Adelaide Fare Collection System (AFCS) are a subset of the details held by the Seniors Card Unit, and include name, address, date of birth and email address. These details are copied into the AFCS so that:

  • a Seniors Card member can add credit to their Seniors Card through the InfoLine or the website
  • a Seniors Card member can be contacted if the Seniors Card has issues related to its metroCARD function
  • a Seniors Card member can be contacted if any outstanding payments need to be made.

Adelaide Metro's website has more information about Adelaide Metro and metroCARD privacy .

Can I anonymise my details in AFCS?

Yes. Contact the Seniors Card Unit to request it (allow two working days). This does not affect the details held by the Seniors Card Unit.

Once completed, the only record held in the AFCS is the Seniors Card number linked to a metroCARD number and a de-identified date of birth. The name and address fields are blanked out in the AFCS.

What are the consequences of anonymisation?

You won't be able to use the Adelaide Metro website to add credit to your Seniors Card for discounted parking or view its transaction history.

Can I use my interstate Seniors Card to get Adelaide Metro public transport concessions?

Yes. Information for interstate Seniors Card members visiting SA.

Public Transport and the Law Factsheet (PDF, 687 KB)

Ticket Inspectors and Police

When can a ticket inspector or transit police officer ask for my id.

A ticket inspector, security guard, driver or police officer can ask to see your student ID or concession card when you are using public transport or are at a public station. If you refuse to show your student ID or concession card, they can give you a fine.

If a police officer wearing plain clothes asks to see your student ID or concession card, politely ask to see their official identity card. A police officer who reasonably suspects that you have committed, or are committing, an offence can ask you to state your name, date of birth and address.

Do I need to travel with a student card to get cheaper tickets?

If you are 15 or older you must have your student ID with you while you travel if you want to buy a student price ticket. If you get Youth Allowance from Centrelink you can apply for a Transport Concession Card on the website www.sa.gov.au .

What can a ticket inspector, security guard, transit police or Adelaide Metro employee ask me to do?

They can ask you to get off a public transport vehicle if they think that you have behaved in a disorderly or offensive way. You can be banned from using public transport or going to platform/station for a period of time.

You can be told not to board or to leave public transport if:

  • you are drunk or drug affected so much that you might cause discomfort, offence or embarrassment to other passengers
  • you are abusive or acting in a threatening way
  • the vehicle is full
  • you’re not dressed appropriately
  • you haven’t paid

If you don’t leave then you can be fined.

What if I don’t follow an instruction?

You can get a fine for not following reasonable directions of an employee of Adelaide Metro or a transit police officer while using public transport. If you have been told to get off public transport and you don’t, then a police officer or someone working for Adelaide Metro can use reasonable force to get you off the vehicle.

Behaviour on Public Transport

What can i get fined for.

There are lots of things you can get fined for on public transport. Here are a few:

  • behaving in a way that is disorderly or offensive (like swearing, playing loud music, fighting, shouting, etc.)
  • drinking alcohol
  • standing on your seat or putting your feet on a seat
  • getting on or off the vehicle while it is moving
  • stopping or deterring someone from sitting on an empty seat

Can I get fined for mucking about at a station or bus stop, even if I’m not actually on the train or bus?

Yes. You can be fined or get in more serious trouble with police for behaving in certain ways while you’re at a station or waiting for public transport. Here are some things you can get in trouble for:

  • damaging or defacing a public transport vehicle or any structure, sign or equipment that has to do with a public transport service
  • riding a bicycle, scooter, skateboard or rollerblades on a public transport station or platform
  • throwing or placing objects that might stop or interfere with public transport vehicles

Transit Barring Orders

What can i do if i’ve been given a barring order.

A ‘barring order’ means you’re not allowed to use public transport or be around public transport stations for a certain period of time. If you receive a barring order get legal advice so you can understand what you are allowed or not allowed to do. It is an offence to disobey a barring order.

Fare finder

When are peak and off-peak travel times.

Peak travel is before 9am and after 3:01pm Monday-Friday, and all day Saturday.

Off-peak is between 9:01am and 3pm Monday-Friday, and all day Sunday and public holidays.

How long does a single fare last for?

Your fare lasts for two hours from when you validate your ticket or metroCARD, unless you have unlimited daily travel on a:

  • Daytrip ticket (expires 4am the day after purchase)
  • Cruise ship pass
  • Visitor pass (three days)
  • 14-day or 28-day multi-day pass on metroCARD.

What are 14-day and 28-day passes for metroCARDs?

These passes are loaded to a metroCARD and give you unlimited bus, train and tram travel for either 14 or 28 days in a row. This means they are good for people who use public transport most days of the week, as they work out cheaper than normal metroCARD fares.

You can add a pass to a metroCARD

  • through  your online metroCARD account (if you’ve registered the card with us)
  • at the InfoCentre in the Adelaide Railway Station
  • at metroCARD retailers or vending machines across Adelaide
  • using a vending machine on-board trains and trams
  • by calling the InfoLine on 1300 311 108.

When you add a pass to a metroCARD, it will start its countdown of days the next time the card is validated. You can’t pause a 14-day or 28-day pass – it will expire after its allocated time, no matter how many times or what days of the week you validate it.

Where can I buy an Adelaide Metro metroCARD or ticket?

You can buy:

  • metroCARDs from vending machines and  retailers across Adelaide
  • ready-to-use  metroCARDs online , and we will post it to you
  • paper MetroTickets from vending machines on-board trains and trams and Adelaide Railway Station.

You can also purchase Singletrips, Daytrips and 3-Day Visitor passes on the free Adelaide Metro Buy & Go app .

Can you pay cash on Adelaide Metro buses?

No. Adelaide Metro buses are cashless and you cannot purchase tickets on board.

To pay for your fare with cash, you can buy a metroCARD in person, then either recharge it for access to best-value fares or load it with a Singletrip ticket.

Alternatively, you can buy tickets on the Adelaide Metro Buy & Go app or  tap and pay with your Visa or Mastercard (or smart device).

What if I've lost my metroCARD or ticket?

We can only track, cancel or replace  registered  metroCARDs.

Contact us to cancel your registered metroCARD as soon as you notice it is missing. If you have auto recharge setup on a metroCARD, cancel that, too. Either:

  • call our InfoLine on  1300 311 108
  • visit us at the InfoCentre Adelaide Railway Centre.

If your registered metroCARD is lost, stolen or damaged, we can transfer any remaining balance to a different metroCARD you own, or you can buy a new metroCARD and we will transfer it to that. When you buy a new card, you may also need to pay a bit extra to top up your balance to the nearest $5.

Paper MetroTickets cannot be registered or replaced if they are lost or stolen.

Changes to SATSS for members

This new SATSS system has been designed to make SATSS travel simpler, faster and safer for everyone.

For members this will mean no more paper vouchers, real time journey information, automatic fare calculations and automated travel notifications for carers or alternate contacts.

What are the changes?

A new digital app for taxi drivers, called the SATSS app, is replacing the paper based voucher system — simplifying how you access subsidised taxi fares and improving how your journey information is recorded. Active SATSS members residing in metropolitan Adelaide are being issued a new SATSS member ID card, which must be used to access subsidised taxi fares in metropolitan Adelaide. The rollout of new cards for active members residing in regional areas is set to commence late 2021.

How does it work?

At the beginning of a journey, the driver will use their mobile phone to scan the barcode on the SATSS member’s ID card. This will record the SATSS membership number and start the journey.

If registered, an automatic notification will be issued to the member’s nominated carer or contact. This notification will include a link to a map showing the exact route a driver is taking for the member’s journey.

When the taxi has arrived at the member’s destination, the driver will scan the member ID card barcode again to record that the journey has ended.

The driver will enter the meter value into the app, which then automatically calculates the remaining fare to be paid by the member. Members will also be able to hear this information through the phone’s text-to-speech functionality.

If a member has provided their email address to SATSS, they will be emailed a summary at the end of each journey which includes information about their journey, the total fare amount, total amount paid, and the number of trips remaining.

For the app to calculate the subsidy correctly, members must present their member ID card for scanning at the beginning and end of each journey.

What are the benefits?

It’s simpler..

To access your SATSS subsidised trips, all you need is your member ID card.

It’s faster.

With a quick scan of your member ID card, you can pay your fare faster. The app will automatically calculate your subsidy and display the total fare payable by you.

It’s safer.

Your new member ID card allows your journey to be recorded in real-time. This means a carer, or nominated contact can receive notifications about your journey, in real time.

How is this safer?

Carer / or nominated contact notifications.

Members can nominate a carer, or alternate contact to receive an automated notification by email or SMS advising them of the members journey in real time. When a member ID card is scanned at the beginning of a journey, a text or email notification will be sent to the registered contact. This notification will include a link to a map showing the exact route a driver is taking for the member’s journey. This link will be valid for two hours.

Driver validation

A taxi driver must have a current and valid driver accreditation to access and use the SATSS app.

Vehicle validation

The driver’s vehicle registration must be valid in order for the SATSS app to be used.

SATSS Member FAQ

How do i keep track of my trips.

At the end of each journey, members will be emailed a summary which includes information about their journey, the total fare amount, total amount paid, and the number of trips remaining. Members can register their email address below.

Member ID cards are also linked to the SATSS database and will automatically keep track of all subsidised trips.

What are the conditions of use for SATSS members?

The conditions of use for SATSS members remain unchanged. Member’s trips will be topped up when the next allocation of trips are due.

The SATSS conditions of use for members can be viewed here (PDF, 585 KB) .

What if I forget my member ID card?

If a member does not present their SATSS member ID card to the driver at any time during the journey, they will need to pay the full fare amount. If a member ID card is lost or stolen members can contact SATSS .

What do I do with my paper vouchers?

Your new barcoded member ID card replaces your SATSS paper vouchers, and you should no longer use your paper vouchers for taxi travel in metropolitan Adelaide. Any unused paper vouchers must be returned to SATSS after this date. A reply paid envelope will be provided with your new SATSS member ID card.

What if I haven't received a new barcoded ID card?

New SATSS member ID cards are currently being issued to active members residing in metropolitan areas. If you have yet to receive your card, you can contact SATSS on 1300 360 840, or email [email protected] .

Members who have not been issued the new barcoded card can continue to present their non-barcoded SATSS ID card and submit a paper voucher to taxi drivers to receive a subsidised fare as normal.

What if I live in regional or country South Australia?

Once the new card system is rolled out to regional members, if a journey is wholly within, or starts or ends in regional South Australia and the maximum metered fare is over $40, the driver will ask the member if they would like to use 1, 2 or 3 trips to subsidise their fare. The app will then automatically calculate and display the total fare payable by the member after the subsidy has been applied. For the app to calculate the subsidy, members must present their member ID card at the beginning and end of each journey.

I have lost my card, what do I do?

To report lost or stolen member ID cards, call SATSS on 1300 360 840, or email [email protected] . SATSS will cancel the lost card and will issue a new card within 5-10 business days. Member’s will not be charged to replace a member ID card*.

*Fee charged for the cost of a replacement member ID card subject to change

What about interstate journeys?

Paper based vouchers will still be issued for interstate journeys. To obtain interstate vouchers please call SATSS on 1300 360 840. Please allow at least 5 – 7 days for the vouchers to be posted. If you are frequently required to travel interstate on short notice, please contact SATSS to discuss travel options.

I’m not a SATSS member, how do I apply?

Please download the application form (PDF, 1062 KB) for discussion with your GP.

Can a driver refuse a SATSS member a subsidised fare if they do not have a voucher on them?

No. As of 17 November 2020, drivers who refuse to download the SATSS mobile application or refuse to provide a SATSS member a subsidised fare if they only have a SATSS ID card for scanning are in breach of the SATSS Conditions of Use for Drivers of Taxi Services and Certain Car Services, pursuant to the Passenger Transport Regulations 2009.

If a driver refuses a SATSS member who doesn’t present a voucher, the member should note the plate number of the taxi and report it to SATSS as soon as possible. Drivers who do not comply with Conditions of Use face a $210 expiation, or a maximum Court penalty of $2500.

SATSS members are required to always carry their SATSS ID card on them while travelling in a taxi, as per their Conditions of Use for Members.

From 2 August 2021, members who have received the new barcoded SATSS ID card can no longer use paper vouchers for subsidised travel, as the card replaces the paper vouchers.

Register a carer or contact

To register a carer or contact to receive notifications when you (or your dependent) travel, you will need to provide the member ID number, surname and date of birth of the SATSS member, and a valid mobile number or email address below:

Members can register their details, or the details of a carer or alternative contact, to receive email notifications about their journey.

To register the following information is required: SATSS member ID number, member card CVV number (on back of member card), member surname and date of birth, and a valid email address. A mobile number for the member and/or alternate contact may also be provided if applicable.

Lost or stolen member ID cards

If your member ID card is lost or stolen you must notify SATSS as soon as possible by calling SATSS 1300 360 840 , or email [email protected] .

SATSS will cancel your lost card, and will issue you with a new card within 5-10 business days. You will not be charged to replace a member ID card*.

*Fee charged for the cost of a replacement member ID card subject to change.

Interstate vouchers

Paper based vouchers will still be issued for interstate journeys. To obtain interstate vouchers please call SATSS on 1300 360 840 , or email [email protected] . Please allow at least 5 – 7 days for the vouchers to be posted to you.

Changes to SATSS for drivers

A new digital app for taxi drivers, called the SATSS app, has now replaced the current paper based system — simplifying the process to obtain subsidised taxi fares for SATSS members, streamlining the payment process, and improving how journey information is recorded.

Paper based vouchers will no longer be issued for subsidised taxi fares. SATSS members have been issued a new member ID card which will be used to access subsidised fares.

To process subsidised taxi fares, all accredited drivers must have a mySA GOV account, and have the app downloaded on their mobile device.

Drivers will be in breach of regulations if they do not accept SATSS via the app.

sa travel concession card

The new SATSS system will simplify the process to obtain subsidised taxi fares for SATSS members, streamline the payment process, and improve how journey information is recorded.

The SATSS app is now available for download. To download the SATSS app on your Apple or Android mobile, you can visit your app store. To create a mySA GOV account visit sa.gov.au/mysagov .

How does the SATSS app work?

  • When starting a shift, drivers will need to log into the new SATSS app on their mobile device using their mySA GOV credentials.
  • To start a SATSS journey, drivers must scan the barcode on the SATSS member’s ID card when the meter is activated. This records the passenger’s subsidy details and journey. A GPS tracker is enabled on the app to record the exact route taken for each journey.
  • When a driver has arrived at a SATSS member’s destination, they must scan the barcode on their member ID card again to record that the journey has ended.
  • The driver must then enter the total fare displayed on the meter into the app. The app will automatically calculate the total amount payable by the passenger, taking into account the subsidy, the $1 levy and lifting fee (if applicable).
  • Where a journey is within, or starts or ends in regional South Australia and the metered fare is over $40, the app will give drivers the option to ask the SATSS member if they would like to use 1, 2 or 3 trips to subsidise their fare.
  • If the drivers mobile’s internet/data is not switched on when the SATSS member ID card is scanned, this journey information will be stored in the app until the mobile’s internet is switched on. SATSS journey payments cannot be processed until journey information is uploaded to the SATSS system. This happens automatically when the mobile’s internet is on.

Simpler process

Driver’s no longer need to complete a paper based voucher for subsidised fares.

Faster payment

Removing the paper based voucher system means that payments made to drivers and operators by their Central Booking Service (CBS) will be faster. All journey information will be automatically uploaded to the SATSS system, reducing the time it will take for trips to be processed.

Better security

Accessing the SATSS app will require drivers to log in and verify their identity, with a mySA GOV account.

Other SATSS app features

Notifications for passenger carers, or contacts.

A SATSS member can nominate a carer, or alternate contact, to receive an automated notification by email or text advising them of their journeys. A notification will be sent by text or email at the start of the journey with a link to a map showing their journey in real time. This link will be valid for two hours. At the end of a journey, a second notification will be sent by email that includes the total fare amount, total amount paid by the passenger, and the number of trips remaining.

Text to speech

The app includes a text to speech function that will read out the fare information for passengers, helping any passenger who may be vision impaired. There is a playback function within the app to repeat this information if a passenger does not hear the fare information.

Selfie function

A selfie function has been enabled on the app, and drivers will be randomly prompted to take a selfie to confirm their identity. This will be saved in the backend system along with the trip details for monitoring by SATSS.

Passenger card protection

The app has been designed so that a mobile device cannot scan a photo, or copy a SATSS member ID card. Fraudulent use of SATSS member ID cards, the SATSS app, or obtaining a benefit by deception, is a criminal offence and will result in Police prosecution.

SATSS Drivers FAQ

I’m unable to login to the satss app.

Setting up a verified mySA GOV account is a two-step process – first create login details using your email address and choose a password.

Second, verify your identity by providing your driver licence details and the payment number from a registration renewal form in your name. Watch this video to assist you in setting up a verified mySA GOV account .

Alternatively, if you are still unsure if you have set up your account correctly, or do not have the documentation required to verify your identity, call Service SA on 1300 450 422 (Monday to Friday) during business hours.

  • If you have a verified mySA GOV account, yet are unable to login to the SATSS app, there may be an issue with your Taxi Driver Accreditation. Contact the Accreditation and Licensing Centre on 13 10 84 for more details.

Unsure if you have a mySA GOV account?

If you have a digital driver’s licence or digital driver accreditation then you already have a verified mySA GOV account.

Driver’s must have a current and valid driver accreditation to access and use the SATSS app.

The app will not allow a driver to scan a SATSS member ID card if they are not accredited or the vehicle is not registered.

Drivers can create a mySA GOV account online at sa.gov.au/mysagov . For step-by-step instructions on how to set up a mySA GOV account

To create an account and verify your identity you will need your South Australian driver’s licence and South Australian vehicle registration details. If you don’t have these available or need assistance, call Service SA on 1300 450 422 (Monday to Friday) during business hours.

Can I still accept paper-based vouchers?

While member ID cards will be issued to active SATSS members, drivers may still be presented with a paper based voucher. All paper based vouchers must be accepted while SATSS members transition to the new card scanning system.

To determine if a member should use a yellow SATSS paper voucher or have their member card scanned, always ask to sight their SATSS member ID card before starting the journey. If the member ID card has a barcode, the card should be scanned using your SATSS app.

If the SATSS member ID card does not have a barcode, the paper voucher may be accepted.

Drivers will be notified when this transition period has ended and paper vouchers will no longer be accepted.

A member only showed me their SATSS member ID card at the end of the journey

We understand getting used to a new system takes time. If a member forgets to show you their card at the start of the journey for scanning, simply scan their card twice at the end of the journey, and continue enter all other journey information including booking number and total metered fare, to calculate the subsidised fare the member must pay.

Do not charge the member the full metered fare. Kindly remind the member to present the card at the start and end of the journey in the future. Please note there may be a small delay approval for payment on journeys where the card is only scanned at the end of the journey, as SATSS will need to confirm with your CBS the correct start location and pick up time.

How do I get paid for digital SATSS journeys?

A Driver Activity Report will be sent to your mySA GOV email address. SATSS journeys that have synced from your app to the SATSS system, and have been approved for payment will be listed in this email. You can provide these email summaries to your Operator to receive payment for your approved SATSS journeys.

I have questions about my SATSS app

If you have queries about using the SATSS app, contact your CBS for assistance, or email [email protected] .

Can I close my account?

If you no longer wish to access information and process transactions for your driver licence and/or vehicle registration through your mySA GOV account, please click the 'Close account' link in your mySA GOV account. While you will retain a 'mySA GOV' account you will no longer have access to EzyReg Account services or be able to login to the SATSS app.

Any vehicles you have nominated for direct debit must be unsubscribed from direct debit before you can close your account.

If you have subscribed to digital renewal notices, you will be unsubscribed from the service and receive paper notices instead.

Please note: Once your account has been closed you will need to verify your identity again should you wish to use EzyReg Account services or use the SATSS app.
