Fans adore the show's hilarious cast as they travel beyond their comfort zones to explore random holiday destinations around the world.

Now, Travel Guides is back for its latest season and will  return to Channel 9 on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:30pm .

While fans are very keen to see the friendly faces on our screens once more, there have been some changes to the traditional  Travel Guides cast.

Cowgirl Mel - who appears on the show with her identical twin sister, Stack - is taking some time off from this season to be with her one-year-old daughter, Savannah.

However, Stack's new partner remains in the family, with brother Josh joining the team in Mel's place.

With that in mind, meet the Travel Guides cast for 2023...

Meet Josh! He'll join sister Stack in place of Mel this season.

Stack and Josh

There will be a switch-up to the traditional pairing of identical twins and country cowgirls, Stack and Mel. This year, you'll see Stack and Josh. While not an identical twin, Josh is the sisters' younger brother.

As was the case with his older siblings, Josh is a little wary about travelling beyond the family's home in outback Queensland. In fact, he's never been out of Australia (until now).

While Stack and Mel were more comfortable at a local rodeo, they felt like fish out of water on their Travel Guides adventures. And Josh will be just the same!

Will he be as game as his sisters? We're sure this construction worker will do just fine.

matt-brett-travel-guides

Matt and Brett

Bona fide travel addicts Matt and Brett joined the show in season four, hailing from Newcastle in New South Wales.

The married couple, who have been together for 19 years now, describe themselves as ‘high end travellers’ who also love a bargain.

While Matt is organised, and packs his outfits into plastic bags via the suitcase, Brett is much happier going along for the ride, leading to a delightful Bert-and-Ernie energy that makes for great TV.

They’re also hilarious, giving biting commentary, and always making the audience laugh.

Their family grew earlier this year, with Jonathan marrying his long-term partner, Danielle Clarke .

Other members of the Travel Guides cast Matt, Brett, Kevin, Janetta, Mel, and Stack were all in attendance – too cute!

‘Holiday snobs’ Kevin and Janetta always bring the laughs.

The pair, who are in their 60s, are passionate wine enthusiasts and seasoned travellers. They’re also avid researchers when it comes to their holidays, making sure they have the best possible experience, so being thrown into strange situations on the show always makes for a good laugh.

They also won’t hesitate to ask for the manager, which has earned them the catchphrase “we don’t suffer in silence”.

Everything you need to know about the Travel Guides cast

Profile picture of Chanelle Mansour

Travel Guides is one of Australia’s most beloved television shows, and with its  crazy adventures and hilarious reviews, it’s not hard to see why.

WATCH BELOW: Travel Guides: The Fren family visit a farm

Channel Nine’s   Travel Guides   has taken off this year, with the reality show seeing everyday holidayers act as travel critics.

The very different groups of ordinary Aussies go on the same week-long holiday – reviewing the cuisine, accommodation, activities and local sights, where they tell it how they see it.

So, here’s everything that you need to know about this season’s cast.

travel guides matt brett

Matt and Brett

New to the block are Matt and Brett, who have been together for 18 years and married for seven.

Matt, 45, works for the local council while Brett, 51, is a primary school teacher, and the two love to travel – meaning they have a lot of opinions on how holidays should be.

The difference between the two is that while Matt loves to organise everything, do everything and eat out for every meal, Brett is happy to go along for the ride.

They are quick with biting commentary on everything around them but are generous, kind and love a laugh.

travel guides fren family

Fren family

The Frens are well equipped to cope with stressful family situations and can always find the funny side of any holiday disaster.

Mark, 59, is the upbeat and forthright dad, so when on holiday he loves to negotiate hotel room upgrades.

For more than 30 years he has been happily married to Cathy, 57, whose quirky sense of humour and distinctive laugh is contagious.

Together they have two kids, Victoria, 27, who is always ready to voice an opinion, and Jonathon, 29, who is the more reserved one of the bunch.

The Frens are unafraid to give anything a go, which often leads them into unpredictable situations.

travel guides kev dorian teng

Kev, Dorian, and Teng

This trio, made up of Kev, Dorian and Teng, are all good mates who share a love of junk food, computer games, music and movies.

Kev, 28, is the sensible pop-culture expert with an arts degree, while Dorian, 24, is laidback, polite and studying to become a teacher.

As for Teng, 25, he’s the risk-taker who has deferred uni for the last three years and is always looking for a good time.

All are Australian-born and their combined Chinese, Greek and Vietnamese heritage gives them a unique take on the world.

Despite Dorian’s Greek heritage, they often refer to themselves as “the three Asian boys” who are fearless and willing to give anything a go.

travel guides kevin janetta

Kevin and Janetta

Kevin, 63, and Janetta, 69, describe themselves as ‘holiday snobs’, as they want the best of the best for everything.

The pair, who have been married for over three decades, don’t have children, and are passionate wine enthusiasts.

They also love exploring big cities, but before hitting the road, they make sure they do their research to ensure they experience the best holiday.

And if the quality or service isn’t up to scratch they will not hesitate to make a complaint – earning them the “we don’t suffer in silence” catchphrase.

travel guides stack mel

Stack and Mel

Identical twin cowgirls, Stack and Mel, are still relatively new to the travel game, and are a little wary when venturing anywhere beyond the Outback. Even so, they are willing to give anything a crack.

The girls, 31, are big on the rodeo scene, competing together and against each other in roping events. They have travelled extensively around country Australia for competitions.

Having spent most of their lives in the bush, they are blissfully unaware of other cultures, languages and customs – but this doesn’t stop them voicing an opinion.

They are used to roughing it and are not easily impressed by fancy holidays, and would much rather camp outdoors with their horses and dogs rather than stay in the city.

Chanelle is the Shopping & Streaming Editor across a broad portfolio of digital brands, including ELLE, Marie Claire, WHO, Now To Love and more. With a background in entertainment and lifestyle, she loves any excuse to talk about her latest celebrity crush, what’s trending on #BookTok and the latest watercooler show she’s obsessing over.

The Travel Guides Cast: Everything About Salary and Living Conditions

The Travel Guides is a popular Australian reality TV series. It first aired in 2017 and was met with positive feedback from viewers. Australians were eager to watch a different type of reality TV series. They found this show to be a refreshing change from the regular selection of reality TV programs.

This series follows groups of travellers from Australia. All of the travellers are ordinary Australians, but each group is different from the next. Their job is to review the accommodations, cuisine, and tourist attractions.

season 1 travel guides cast

However, this isn’t your ordinary travel series. The contestants on this show are put in unpredictable situations. It’s part of what makes this show unpredictable and humorous. Each group of travellers will have a different take on the situations at hand.

What Does the Cast Do on Travel Guides?

The cast of this hit reality series gets to go on exclusive vacations around the world. While they travel, they will experience different activities, try dishes custom to other cultures, and stay at local hotels and resorts. In exchange for this, they will leave brutally honest reviews.

In each episode of the series, the travellers will go on a week-long vacation (all expenses paid). The groups each consist of family members or close friends. They will leave their comfortable nest in Australia and venture to big cities worldwide.

Viewers are introduced to new groups of travellers each season, and some fan favourites have returned to the show. One of the most popular groups on the show is the Fren family, who has appeared in all five seasons.

These groups have gotten to travel to places all over the world. Some of the places they’ve visited include:

  • Tokyo, Japan
  • Perth, Australia
  • Argentina & more

Does the Cast of Travel Guides Get Paid?

It hasn’t been released to the public how much the castmates of Travel Guides get paid. However, the Fren family had openly commented on how the show saved them when they were experiencing financial hardship with the restaurant they own.

Many reality TV shows made in Australia will provide contestants with weekly pay while filming. Travel Guides is a different scenario. Ordinary Australians get to travel to tourist destinations in Australia and internationally for free. All fees are covered, including accommodations, transportation, meals, shopping, and other activities they participate in. Since everything is free for travellers, they don’t have to worry about any expenses.

Whether or not the contestants get paid per episode and how much they earn hasn’t been revealed. Each group of family and friends do have the job of leaving a red hot honest review. Even if they don’t get paid, the free travelling and TV exposure are worth it.

A lot of Australian reality TV contestants are able to earn money because of the exposure they have gotten. Once the TV series airs, fans of the show begin following the castmates on social media and subscribing to their content. Well-known castmates have been able to use their exposure to get further opportunities, such as appearances on other TV series. It’s also common for them to get paid endorsement deals where brands pay them to post content on Instagram and other social media platforms.

Another way that these contestants use their exposure to earn money is through paid online gigs, like Cameo and similar platforms. This is when they record personal messages for fans for a cost. The more popular a castmate is, the more they can charge for a video. It’s also common for castmates to use paid subscription platforms, like Patreon and OnlyFans, to earn an income. Also, a lot of contestants may like to relax by gambling and choose a new Australian online casino .

What Are the Living Conditions Like on Travel Guides?

Every country these travellers visit will have different accommodations. The accommodations will be based on the culture of the country they visit. This is why the reviews from the Fren family, cowgirl twins, and other favourite castmates are always red hot.

For the most part, they get to experience good quality living conditions. However, since the accommodations are often different from what they are used to, it leads to some hilarious reviews. This is one of the main reasons why this reality TV series has been such a hit with Australians and other viewers around the world.

Every episode is a different experience for the castmates and the viewers. Travellers could be enjoying the lux life on a cruise, visiting a casino in the city, or going on an off-road adventure. They must be up for anything to get the full travel experience.

Will Travel Guides Return for Season 6?

Do you want to see the Fren family and other fan favourites back on your TV screen? Currently, there is no word on when season 6 will be released. This is because the 6th season hasn’t been renewed yet.

Fans of this beloved reality TV show shouldn’t have reason to worry about the series’ fate. It has been confirmed that the series hasn’t been cancelled and is just on a break.

Does the idea of temporarily leaving your job and travelling the world for free sound like a dream? That’s exactly what the castmates of this popular reality TV series get to experience. While there currently isn’t any information released on what contestants earn from filming the series, the experience they get is well worth it.

'Bridgerton' Season 3 Cast and Character Guide: Who's Who in the Netflix Romance?

" Bridgerton " is finally back, and Season 3 is diving into love stories of both fan-favorites and new arrivals.

A guide to the Bridgerton cast, from seasons 1 to 3

Dear reader, here's everything you need to know about Phoebe Dynevor, Jonathan Bailey, and more.

Liam Daniel/Netflix

Brought to life from Julia Quinn 's best-selling novels and executive produced by Shonda Rhimes , Bridgerton — which Entertainment Weekly 's critic describes as a "wonderful diversion for those who love Pride & Prejudice but wish it had more stairway sex" — centers on the pursuit of marriage and status among its denizens during early-1800s London.

While an anonymous Gossip Girl -esque columnist (voiced by Julie Andrews ) dishes out the juiciest scandals in town, viewers get acquainted with the eponymous fictional family and the show's diverse array of supporting characters.

With the departure of fan favorites — Phoebe Dynevor will not reprise Daphne Bridgerton for season 3 while Regé-Jean Page is notably absent in seasons 2 and 3 — and the return of familiar faces, keeping up with the cast can be a challenge, especially since the third season (premiering on May 16 and the second half on June 13) introduces a few new faces to the fold.

Below, discover more about the Bridgerton cast from seasons 1 to 3.

Regé-Jean Page (Simon Basset)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Dave Benett/BAFTA/Getty

English Zimbabwean actor Regé-Jean Page caused quite a stir among viewers when he made his debut as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, who finds himself matched with Daphne Bridgerton, the crown jewel of the year’s betrothal season.

Before Bridgerton , Page notably appeared in episodes of TV shows like Waterloo Road , Roots , and For the People . He left the period romance series after season 1, although that didn’t mean anything terrible happened to his character. (The duke was often referenced by Daphne and other family members in season 2 but wasn’t physically present.)

"Shonda [Rhimes] and I had a wonderful conversation at the end of season 1. We were quite happy with how we stuck the landing on that one," he said to  Variety's  Marc Malkin  at the 2022 premiere of  The Gray Man . "We did so well on that redemptive arc that people forget that Simon was kind of horrific. He was the best example of a Regency f---boy that any of us had come across. And so, because we came around full circle so well, because we stuck that landing, you're left with this great feeling."

Page’s career has continued to blossom, earning film credits for The Gray Man and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023) and being named the face of the Armani Code in 2022. He is also set to appear alongside Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett in Steven Soderbergh 's upcoming movie Black Bag .

Since 2019, Page has been in a relationship with copywriter Emily Brown .

Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Bridgerton)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Julien M. Hekimian/Getty

British actress Phoebe Dynevor charms audiences as Daphne Bridgerton in seasons 1 and 2 of the Netflix series. After being the crown jewel — the woman considered the top catch for marriage each year — and paired with the Duke of Hastings in season 1, Daphne's story is pushed to the sidelines in season 2.

"There are a lot of differences between me and Daphne, but I think she values family, which I also value, and at a time when women had only one option, she was as determined to make that happen as I am in my career I guess, and I think that was sort of my way into Daphne," Dynevor told Deadline in May 2021. "I admired her more because she made it happen, but she called the shots and she also found love."

Before stepping into Daphne’s shoes, Dynevor made her TV debut on Waterloo Road in 2010. She then followed with appearances on other series such as Dickensian , Snatch , and Younger .

Exiting the show before season 3 (though the door is open for her to return in the future), Dynevor made her cinematic debut in 2021’s The Colour Room and later starred in the Netflix thriller Fair Play (2023). The actress is set to appear in The Outlaws Scarlett and Browne and Inheritance .

After dating comedian Pete Davidson for six months in 2021, Dynevor became romantically involved with actor Cameron Fuller in 2023. The couple's engagement recently came to light at the 2024 Met Gala.

Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Robin L Marshall/WireImage

Golda Rosheuvel enthralls Netflix viewers as the sly and witty Queen Charlotte, a monarch who can make or break a young lady’s season. (Rosheuvel enjoyed a whole new round of attention when her Bridgerton spinoff debuted in 2023, which revolved around a younger Queen Charlotte and her love story with her husband, King George III.)

"I think [the Queen's duality] is fantastic! It would be very interesting, or not very interesting, to play...a character that's on the surface and doesn't really have a backstory or any vulnerability. But I think really cleverly, the writers are showing that for the Queen, because that makes her relatable," she told PEOPLE in March 2022. "Yes, she does have the most fabulous dresses and the most fabulous wigs, but she's a human being at the core of it."

Pre- Bridgerton , Rosheuvel appeared on the TV series Silent Witness , Luther , and Rev . She also starred alongside Florence Pugh in Lady Macbeth (2016).

The actress has enjoyed a steady career while appearing on Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte , too, with film and TV credits for Death in Paradise (2021), Dune (2021), Orion and the Dark (2024), and a 2024 episode of Doctor Who .

Rosheuvel has been with her partner, writer Shireen Mula, for several years.

Jonathan Bailey (Lord Anthony Bridgerton)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Jamie McCarthy/WireImage

Jonathan Bailey charms and confuses audiences as Lord Anthony Bridgerton, the oldest brother of Daphne and head of the Bridgerton family since his father’s death. While Anthony plays more of a supporting role in season 1 of the show, season 2 gives him plenty of reason to shine.

Bailey told EW that he was interested in the character partly because it allowed him to subvert masculinity. “I love period dramas, I always have, and I've never felt that there's been a real investigation as to why these avoidant men are so disconnected," the actor said. "That was always the appeal.”

Before taking on the role of Anthony, Bailey made his TV debut in 1997 with an episode of Bramwell . Over the years, he began appearing on shows like Broadchurch , W1A, Crashing, and Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan .

As he continues to play Anthony, Bailey also keeps himself busy elsewhere. He starred alongside Matt Bomer in Showtime 's miniseries Fellow Travelers — for which he won a Critics' Choice award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television — and landed the role of Fiyero in Wicked (2024) and Wicked: Part Two (2025).

Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Mike Marsland/WireImage

Nicola Coughlan shines as Penelope Featherington, the youngest of a trio of daughters who all seek husbands to keep their family’s reputation afloat. When the show begins, it seems the most important thing we know about Penelope is that she has a major crush on Colin Bridgerton, who also happens to be her best friend. But over time, Penelope becomes an essential part of the series, and season 3 primarily focuses on her and Colin's love story .

“I always look at the three seasons like this. I think season 1 was about passion, season 2 was about longing, and season 3, I think it’s romance all the way,” she explained to PEOPLE in June 2023. "There were a lot of moments on set where we filmed something and we’d turn around and everyone was sort of clutching their chest being like ‘Oh my God.’ It was that kind of love."

Before Bridgerton , Coughlan could be seen on seven episodes of the series Harlots . She also starred as Clare Delvin on Derry Girls until the series ended after season 3.

Since playing Penelope, the actress has appeared in Barbie (2023) as Diplomat Barbie; starred in the British miniseries Big Mood ; and landed the lead in the 2024 comedy Seize Them .

Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Gareth Cattermole/Getty

Claudia Jessie begins season 1 of Bridgerton as the precocious but sheltered younger sister of Daphne Bridgerton — so sheltered that when she finds out a maid is pregnant, Eloise has to ask many people how a woman ends up in that condition. But like all of us, Eloise grows and matures, eventually becoming interested in a relationship of her own.

Eloise’s best friend is Penelope Featherington, and fans are so enamored by the two that they’ve given them a nickname: Peneloise . As Jessie told EW in February 2022, “It felt like the most uncomplicated love that there was.”

Pre- Bridgerton , Jessie popped up in episodes of Doctors, Call the Midwife , Line of Duty , Vanity Fair , and Defending the Guilty , as well as the 2016 film Their Finest .

In addition to more episodes of Bridgerton , Jessie will next be seen in Netflix's upcoming miniseries Toxic Town .

Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Ian West/PA Images via Getty

There are quite a few Bridgerton siblings, so perhaps it’s not too surprising that it wasn’t until season 2 that Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, truly began to get the attention he deserves. Benedict is focused on his art, which lends him a more romantic air.

“[In season 3], you get to see a little chink in the armor," Thompson told EW in March 2022. "You get to see that actually, partly through watching his brother deal with finding love — and the show also delves into the Bridgerton family past as well — you can put together the fact that actually there is something a bit more vulnerable about him.”

Thompson has been around the block a few times in Hollywood, and viewers might have recognized him playing Lysander in Shakespeare's Globe: A Midsummer Night's Dream (2014) or his appearances in Dunkirk (2017) and Misbehaviour (2020).

While on Bridgerton , the English actor has earned credits for the 2023 miniseries Transatlantic and the live taping of the stage adaptation of Hanya Yanagihara 's A Little Life .

Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Karwai Tang/WireImage

The first introduction to Lady Violet Bridgerton might be a lot for modern viewers — after all, it can be difficult to imagine ourselves in her position, hoping to marry her daughters to wealthy men to keep her family’s future secure. But Ruth Gemmell quickly and deftly proves that Violet’s heart is always in the right place, and that mothering her children is always her top priority.

"Violet can embrace anything with love, and I admire that,” Gemmell told Town & Country Magazine in April 2022. “Because sometimes I’m not nearly as kind...maybe I shall strive for that.”

British audiences have been familiar with Gemmell’s work for years in films like Fever Pitch (1997) and F (2010) — as well as the TV series Silent Witness and Primeval — and Bridgerton has introduced her in a major way to the rest of the world.

In addition to reprising her role in season 3 of the series, Gemmell returned as Lady Violet in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story in 2023.

From 1997 to 2005, Gemmell was married to the late actor Ray Stevenson , whom she met on the set of Band of Gold.

Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Jed Cullen/Dave Benett/Getty

Colin hasn’t always been the first Bridgerton sibling who needed attending to. After all, season 1 largely focuses on his sister Daphne while season 2 hones in on his brother Anthony. But Luke Newton is preparing to usher Colin into an era of his own, with season 3 seeing an older version of the brother that is so beloved by Penelope Featherington.

“What's really interesting about Colin and Penelope's relationship is they are so close, but so different. Colin is very much in his own world, and he can be around things that are going on and not notice a thing," Newton told EW in February 2022 . "That's part of his upbringing — he's the third son, the golden boy who can do whatever. He hasn't had to fight to be heard; he's a Bridgerton, so he always has been.”

Before Bridgerton , Newton had a few credits under his belt, including the series The Cut, Mr. Selfridge , and The Lodge .

Since landing his breakout role on Bridgerton , he has starred in the 2023 film The Shape of Things .

Polly Walker (Lady Portia Featherington)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Jeff Spicer/Getty

Polly Walker is Lady Poria, the Featherington matriarch who EW describes as “the most ambitious mama of all" because she does everything she can to ensure her daughters get the matches they deserve.

"She's existing and operating in a society that's totally patriarchal. It was difficult for women to get where they needed to get without the help of a good marriage or a man. And without that they have no status," Walker told PEOPLE in 2021. "She is controversial and colorful and wears her heart on her sleeve.... I think she's a survivor and she is doing what she can for her daughters — and for herself, of course."

Before Bridgerton , Walker had TV and movie credits dating back to 1989, including the films Patriot Games (1992), the Gwyneth Paltrow -starring Emma (1996), and Clash of the Titans (2010). She also appeared in 22 episodes of Rome , 11 episodes of Line of Duty , and 17 episodes of Pennyworth .

Since 2008, Walker has been married to actor Laurence Penry-Jones. She has two children, Giorgio and Delilah, from a previous relationship.

Julie Andrews (voice of Lady Whistledown)

Netflix; Gilbert Flores/Variety via Getty

Julie Andrews joins the series as one of the most mysterious — and the most important — characters: the voice of Lady Whistledown, the woman who somehow knows all the societal gossip before some of the biggest players. While Lady Whistledown’s identity is revealed to the viewer at the end of season 1, Andrews manages to charm and dazzle with her voice-overs that explain exactly what is going on, whether her subjects want to hear it or not.

"It's been a growing and learning experience. Every character one does, it's something different," Andrews said of doing voice work on EW's The Awardist podcast in June 2022. "It is a wholly different technique to do a voice-over — it allows a lot of freedom, a lot of throwing mud at the wall and seeing what sticks."

Of course, Andrews has starred in some of the most beloved films of all time. These include her Academy Award -winning performance in Mary Poppins (1964), as well as nominated turns in The Sound of Music (1965) and Victor/Victoria (1982), among many other notable appearances. Before transitioning to steady voice work, her most recent onscreen credit was Tooth Fairy (2010).

Since first being heard on Bridgerton in 2020, Andrews also lent her voice to The King's Daughter (2022) and Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022).

Andrews was married twice, first to set designer Tony Walton from 1959 to 1968, and then to director Blake Edwards from 1969 until his death in 2010. She is a mother to three daughters — Emma, Amy, and Joanna — a grandmother, and a great-grandmother.

Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury)

Adjoa Andoh plays one of the most important characters in Bridgerton . As the all-knowing, all-seeing, always-conspiring Lady Agatha Danbury, she has unique access to the inner workings of society’s most eligible and important families. Lady Agatha is also the woman who raised the Duke of Hastings from the age of 11, and when he returns at the beginning of season 1, she is dead set on getting him matched and married.

“[People of color] were very suspicious about [ Bridgerton ] because we...aren’t taught all of our history," Andoh told Harper's Bazaar in March 2024. " Bridgerton is entertainment, it’s not a documentary, so you’ll see stories on a Shondaland epic scale — dresses in psychedelic orange that weren’t the color of the day, but they were the cut. We all like to hear a good story, and even more so if we feel we can be part of it. Bridgerton has done that on many different levels.”

Andoh has had a long and steady career since the '90s, with credits for movies and TV projects like Doctor Who, Invictus (2009), Fractured (2019), and more.

Since Bridgerton , the actress has appeared on The Witcher ; reprised Lady Agatha in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story ; and landed a gig on the upcoming miniseries The Red King .

In 2001, she married lecturer Howard Cunnell, with whom she shares two children. Andoh also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Pascal Le Segretain/Getty

In season 2, Simone Ashley joins the Bridgerton cast as Kate Sharma, who gains notoriety after she unexpectedly sparks interest in Anthony Bridgerton. Kate often finds herself standing in the way of Anthony’s planned match with her younger sister, Edwina, while also battling her own feelings about what’s happening inside.

"There's just something about her with Anthony. If anything, they're like magnets that just slowly come together as the series goes on," Ashley told EW in March 2022. "I love the fact that it's a slow burner, and that we earn those incredible fireworks and romantic moments between Kate and Anthony towards the end."

Viewers might recognize Ashley from Broadchurch , Sex Education , and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019).

Since appearing on Bridgerton in 2022, the actress has portrayed Ariel’s sister, Indira, in the live-action version of The Little Mermaid (2023).

Charithra Chandran (Edwina Sharma)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Joe Maher/Getty

As Kate Sharma’s younger sister Edwina, Charithra Chandran masterfully plays the part of a young woman who has been raised to be focused on marrying and who learns she can’t be afraid to be herself.

"The one thing that I said to [creator] Chris Van Dusen before filming started was, 'I don't want Edwina to simply be a plot device for someone else's story or a vehicle for the story to progress. I want her to be her own person and to have her own plot and narrative," Chandran told EW in March 2022. "And I'm so grateful to Chris and the writers for giving me as rich a story as they ended up giving me."

With two credits to her name — Eternals (2021) and Alex Rider — Chandran had her big break on the Netflix series. (In February 2024, the actress confirmed to Variety that she will not be returning for season 3.) She then acted in various onscreen projects, including Testament: The Parables Retold (2022), How to Date Billy Walsh (2024), and Pillow Talk .

Ruby Barker (Marina, Lady Crane)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Lia Toby/Getty

Ruby Barker is most known for her time in Bridgerton as Marina, a cousin of the Featheringtons who comes into town and stirs up interest by the suitors sought after by her elder cousins. Marina's storyline takes a turn when she realizes she's pregnant from a secret affair back home with Sir George Crane. After being locked in a room by Lady Featherington, Marina gets engaged to Phillip Crane (Chris Fulton) — the brother of her child's father.

"We're used to seeing mixed-race characters in particular playing the stereotypical bubbly best friend, lit with golden light from behind with the Afro. We play a certain trope...but Marina completely broke out of that, and I love that about her," Barker told PopSugar UK in February 2022. "It just gave her agency. I think that's empowering, seeing any character of any different color, creed, or background playing roles that push the usual narrative and challenge people's potential biases that they have about us and about who we are."

Before the hit Netflix series, Barker held acting gigs on the series Wolfblood , Doctors , and Cobra , as well as in the 2020 film How to Stop a Recurring Dream .

In 2022, Barker was hospitalized due to her mental health , and a year later, she revealed in an interview on Oxford University’s LOAF podcast that Netflix nor Shondaland provided any support during her "psychotic breaks" while filming Bridgerton . Following her departure after season 1, the actress appeared in the horror film Baghead (2024).

Sabrina Bartlett (Siena Rosso)

Netflix; David M. Benett/Dave Benett/Getty

In season 1, Sabrina Bartlett stars as Anthony Bridgerton's love interest, opera singer Siena Rosso. Despite their feelings for one another — and their extreme sexual chemistry — Anthony’s position in society meant that he and Siena could never have a real relationship.

"[ Bridgerton ] felt like this wonderful unbridled, shameless exploration of sex that we haven’t seen before, which I found so liberating," Bartlett told Tatler magazine in September 2021 ( per the Daily Mail ).

Prior to her role in Bridgerton , Bartlett could be seen in the short film The Crossing (2014) and episodes of Poldark , Game of Thrones , Knightfall , and Victoria .

Since departing the series, Bartlett has starred in The Larkins (the 2021 series adaptation of H. E. Bates' The Darling Buds of May ) . She’s slated to star in the upcoming films One Night in Bath and Arsenic Lane .

Bessie Carter (Prudence Featherington)

Liam Daniel/Netflix; Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/WireImage

Bessie Carter plays Prudence, the oldest of the Featherington daughters. At the beginning of the series, Prudence is in year three of attempting to find a husband, and in seasons 2 and 3, she remains in the same position.

Carter believes that ultimately, Prudence is infatuated with one of the most important people in her life: her mom. “I [got] to find out what Prudence is like without her go-to sort of companion, sort of best mate really," she told The Wrap in April 2022. "And I think she sort of really wants to emulate her mother.”

Pre- Bridgerton , Carter snagged supporting parts in Les Misérables (2012), the miniseries Howard’s End , and The Good Liar (2019), among other projects.

Since landing her role on Bridgerton, she's popped up in episodes of I Hate Suzie .

Ben Miller (Lord Archibald, Baron Featherington)

Ben Miller is Lord Archibald, the Featherington patriarch. As season 1 progresses, viewers learn that Baron Featherington has a notorious gambling problem and has spent most of his family’s resources in the process, leaving Portia to scramble to find husbands for her daughters to secure their futures. He dies in season 1 following a bet gone wrong, though his exact death is not shown on the series.

"[ Bridgerton ] was the most enormous TV show. I mean the  most  enormous production I've ever seen or been involved in, it was like shooting three big feature films at the same time," he told Radio Times in December 2021. "It's very bold in its creativity as well. A lot of it is actually more authentic than most period costumes you'd see in terms of the diversity and the characters.... It just felt very liberating and I think people love that about it as it's a breath of fresh air."

Pre- Bridgerton , Miller appeared in various film and TV projects since the '90s, including Armstrong and Miller , Primeval, Paddington 2 (2017), and Johnny English Strikes Again (2018).

He has enjoyed a number of gigs since leaving the series, including the titular role on Professor T ; a 2022 episode of the series Doc Martin ; and the movie The Loneliest Boy in the World (2022).

From 2004 to 2011, Miller was married to actress Belinda Stewart-Wilson, with whom he shares a son. He also shares a son and daughter with his second ex-wife, film producer Jessica Parker.

Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton)

For season 3, Hannah Dodd takes on the role of Francesca Bridgerton , initially played by Ruby Stokes in seasons 1 and 2. (After Stokes was cast in Lockwood & Co. , she was unable to commit the time needed for the show, per TVLine .)

“I had no idea what I’d got myself in with the character," Dodd — who was previously most known for her role in Enola Holmes 2 (2022) — told the Italian Reve in November 2022. "I loved the show, I’d watched the show but I’d never read the books, so the first thing I did was go and get her book because I needed to understand who it was that I was playing.”

Dodd is also known for her roles in the film Eternals and shows like Harlots and Anatomy of a Scandal .

Daniel Francis (Marcus Anderson)

Getty;Netflix

Season 3 of Bridgerton welcomes Daniel Francis as Marcus Anderson, "a charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters." While the sneak peek photos reveal Marcus alongside Lady Agatha Danbury (is there history there?), the teaser trailer shows him sharing a more-than-friendly glance with none other than Lady Violet Bridgerton herself.

Before Bridgerton , Francis had other TV stints on Once Upon a Time , Stay Close , Liaison , and The Wheel of Time .

Sam Phillips (Lord Debling)

In season 3 of Bridgerton, prepare to meet Sam Phillips as Lord Debling, a charming nobleman with quirky hobbies — vying for the affection of Lady Penelope Featherington and giving Colin Bridgerton a run for his money in the pursuit of her heart.

“Lord Debling is seen as an outsider,” Phillips told Shondaland in February 2024. “He lives on the fringes of society, and he is after a love match this season; he’s after someone who goes against the grain, someone who is a little bit of an outsider like him. And he spots Penelope. He thinks she’s special because she’s sort of seen as an outsider too. Lord Debling is interested in other things outside of the norms of society. For instance, he loves wildlife, he’s a conservationist, and he is a vegetarian.”

Prior to Bridgerton , Sam appeared in other period dramas such as Far From the Madding Crowd  (2015), The Crown, and  To Olivia (2021) .

James Phoon (Harry Dankworth)

Another season 3 newcomer is James Phoon, who will play the dapper yet dim-witted Harry Dankworth. As the preview photos suggest, Harry is seen with Prudence Featherington entwined in his arms (a new budding romance perhaps?).

Before appearing on Bridgerton , Phoon built his résumé with voice work on animated projects like Dodo and Doctor Who: The Lost Stories , a Broadway stint for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child , and a recurring role as Hamish on BBC 's Wreck .

‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Character Guide: Who's Who in the Ton?

It's time for Polin to get the spotlight.

The British period drama has long been a success , with the likes of Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights two of the most iconic stories in literary and screen history. In recent times, the genre has been just as triumphant, with no series more influential than Shondaland's Bridgerton . Debuting on Christmas Day in 2020, the series took the world by storm with millions flocking to see the romantic and often racy lives of the nobility of early 1800s London.

Now about to enter its third season , and given the sheer triumph of the second, lovers of the series are waiting patiently to find out what lies in store, with news surrounding the season's cast and their involvement coming thick and fast. With Season 2 introducing new characters and blossoming love stories, Season 3 will instead work with a brewing relationship that has been on the minds of viewers for some time, namely that of Penelope ( Nicola Coughlan ) and Colin ( Luke Newton ). With that in mind, and with trailers giving fans their first glimpse at what eye-catching wonders lay ahead , here is a look at the cast and characters of Bridgerton Season 3.

The eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family look for love and happiness in London high society.

Nicola Coughlan

Penelope featherington.

The star of Bridgerton 's third season , and already a fan-favorite, Penelope Featherington has so far been a side character, although her doting admiration of Colin Bridgerton hasn't gone unnoticed . In Season 2, Penelope agreed with Eloise that marriage was a waste of time, but not without difficulty, with her true feelings towards the joining of partners in holy matrimony ready to blossom in Season 3.

Over the last 6 or so years, Nicola Coughlan's rise to stardom has been well documented , all starting with her breakout role in the hit comedy Derry Girls . Her performances in Bridgerton so far have been highly appreciated, with her starring role in the upcoming third outing more than deserved. Not only that, but Coughlan is set to appear alongside Nucti Gatwa and co in the 2024 Christmas Special of Doctor Who .

Luke Newton

Colin bridgerton.

Just like Penelope, Season 3 of Bridgerton is giving another one of its side characters the spotlight in the form of Miss Featherington's love interest, Colin Bridgerton. In Bridgerton's first season, Colin is actually engaged to Marina ( Ruby Barker ), with that particular romance ending swiftly following Marina being pregnant with another man's child. Season 2 saw Colin finally move on from the whole debacle, leaving Season 3 open for a new enticing romance .

Although his filmography is short, including appearances in the likes of Mr Selfridge , The Lodge , and The Cut , Bridgerton marks Luke Newton's biggest role to date, with his upcoming starring role in Season 3 likely to be the birth of the most successful period in his promising career.

Claudia Jessie

Eloise bridgerton.

If there's one thing that has been made clear in Bridgerton Seasons 1 and 2, it is that Eloise is not a fan of marriage . A forward-thinking contrarian, Eloise avoids the difficulties that come with 19th century marriage, instead preferring to spend time with her best friend, Penelope. However, Season 3 begins where Season 2 left off, with a rift between their friendship desperately needing to be mended .

With an on-screen career that has only lasted 12 years to date, Claudia Jessie has packed plenty in, with her filmography brimming with credits. From appearances in the likes of Line of Duty and Call the Midwife to her role as Kira in the Doctor Who episode "Kerblam!", Jessie's career continues to go from strength to strength .

Hannah Dodd

Francesca bridgerton.

One particularly eye-catching shake-up to the Bridgerton cast comes in the form of Hannah Dodd , who takes over the role of Francesca Bridgerton from Ruby Stokes . Despite not appearing much in the first two seasons, Francesca promises to be a much more pivotal component to the plot of Season 3, with this set to be her first season on the hunt for a partner.

Despite being just 28 years old, Dodd is a bright addition to Bridgerton 's ensemble , with the actress no stranger to Netflix projects, having previously appeared in the likes of Enola Holmes 2 and Anatomy of a Scandal . Beyond Netflix, Dodd has also appeared in the likes of Fighting with My Family , Find Me in Paris , and Pandora , as well as receiving a small part in Marvel's Eternals .

Jonathan Bailey

Anthony bridgerton.

Season 2 saw Anthony Bridgerton take the spotlight alongside Simone Ashley 's Kate Sharma, with their risqué hunt for love capturing the hearts of audiences. Now taking a backseat for Season 3, Anthony will be ready to start a family with the love of his life .

There is perhaps no brighter star on British television right now than Jonathan Bailey , with his ability to seamlessly move between soft tragedy and cutting comedy always catching the eye. Beyond appearances on-screen in the likes of Phoebe Waller-Bridge 's Crashing , Broadchurch , and Fellow Travelers , with the latter winning him a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor , it is the stage that has seen Bailey's greatest success, winning an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Company .

Simone Ashley

Kate sharma/bridgerton.

Alongside Anthony Bridgerton, Kate Sharma, now Kate Bridgerton, provided the leading lady role in Season 2 of the show. With Season 3 marking a step back for Kate, her mind will be on their attempts to conceive an heir.

A rising star with an enormous pedigree , Simone Ashley is one of Netflix's greatest successes, having made beloved appearances in both Bridgerton and Sex Education . Not just a star of the small screen, Ashley's film career has been more than successful so far too, including appearances in the likes of The Little Mermaid and Detective Pikachu .

Golda Rosheuvel

Queen charlotte.

There is no character in the entirety of Bridgerton quite like Queen Charlotte , highlighted by the show's recent spin-off made in the character's honor . Poised and elegant, her addition to Season 3 of Bridgerton will make many happy, with the show certainly not the same without her.

An actress with a fantastic career in her rearview mirror, including a small role in the first Dune , Golda Rosheuvel shows no signs of slowing down, with her role as Queen Charlotte just the tip of her talented iceberg. Recently, it was excitingly announced that Rosheuvel would be the next member of the Bridgerton ensemble to join Doctor Who , with her set to play the role of Jocelyn in Gatwa's first full season as the titular Time Lord.

Adjoa Andoh

Lady danbury.

A mainstay since Season 1, the biting Lady Danbury is never short of giving her opinion , with her wisdom perfectly partnered by her cutting remarks. Colin Farrell's True Detective Replacement Redeems His Rotten Tomatoes Letdown 9 Years Later

Where was sugar filmed all l.a. shooting locations explained, how colin farrell's sugar character differs from anti-heroes like walter white detailed by creator.

Warning! This post contains spoilers for Apple TV+'s Sugar.

  • Amidst a sci-fi twist, Sugar's cathartic decision to embrace humanity sets the stage for potential follow-ups.
  • Character depth unfolds as John Sugar navigates complexities beyond a typical detective drama facade.
  • Sugar's evolving empathy and tangled relationships hint at more mysteries to unravel in Season 2.

Colin Farrell's character makes a cathartic decision towards the end of Apple TV+'s Sugar , effectively paving the way for more potential follow-ups. In its early episodes, Apple TV+'s Sugar comes off as a typical detective drama in which its titular character sets out to unravel the mystery behind a young girl's disappearance. However, as the show progresses, it becomes evident there is more to John Sugar's characterization than meets the eye.

Finally, in episode 6, Sugar drops a major twist , revealing that the titular character and the other members of his polyglot society are aliens. Although their sole purpose is to only observe humans, Sugar gets too involved in his crime-solving endeavors and sets out to find the truth behind Olivia's disappearance. He eventually finds what he seeks, but he and his team of aliens face the dire consequences of his actions in Sugar 's finale.

Sugar Cast & Character Guide

Apple TV+'s new crime mystery thriller, Sugar, stars Colin Farrell. He's joined in the hit new series by a talented ensemble of veteran actors.

Why Sugar Stays On Earth In Season 1's Ending

Sugar feels alienated by his own kind.

Sugar 's final episode reveals the titular character's alien allies are returning to their home planet. Although Sugar, too, initially plans to leave with them, he eventually changes his mind after giving his recent experiences some thought. Many factors contribute to Sugar's decision to stay behind, but the primary reason behind it is his realization of his own humanity . After spending enough time on Earth around all kinds of humans, Sugar understands he is more human than he thought.

...Despite his best efforts to suppress his vulnerabilities and human tendencies, Sugar realizes that a part of him is becoming more human each day.

In the Apple TV+ show's early episodes, Sugar keeps questioning his emotions and even tries to stop himself from getting involved in violent altercations with others. However, despite his best efforts to suppress his vulnerabilities and human tendencies, Sugar realizes that a part of him is becoming more human each day. Towards the end of the season, he learns that he embodies both the worst and the best in humanity , and as much as he will miss his home planet, he belongs on Earth. Apart from this realization, learning the truth about Henry also makes him stay back on the planet.

True Detective season 2 was a letdown, and its Rotten Tomatoes score reflected it - but Colin Farrell's new detective show may help him redeem himself

Sugar's Henry Twist Explained: Why Henry Did Nothing About Pavich's Crimes

Henry was fulfilling his job of "observing & reporting".

In Sugar season 1's last few episodes, the titular character gets to the bottom of the mystery behind Olivia's disappearance and even saves her before it is too late. However, despite solving the mystery, a part of him still believes he is missing a crucial detail about Pavich's crimes. To learn more about Pavich's murders, he starts playing his disks on a CD player. After going through the recordings, he notices that Pavich is constantly talking to someone else in the underground room where he tortured his victims. This ultimately leads him to realize that Henry was with Pavich when he was committing those crimes.

Despite being a witness, however, Henry never reported the crimes. Sugar's finale reveals that the Colin Farrell character and the other aliens came to Earth to observe and report human behavior . They seemingly wanted to observe humans and learn from their mistakes to be able to make their planet a better place. Owing to this, all of them were intentionally exposed to vast experiences — both good and bad. While Sugar became a private investigator, Henry partnered with a criminal like Pavich. Sugar could not help but get involved in the lives of the humans around him and did a lot more than " observing and reporting. "

Both Henry and Sugar's arcs highlight how nature and nurture together contribute to a person's identity.

Henry, in contrast, did as he was told and took intricate notes of all the darkness he observed on Earth through Pavich's actions. When Sugar tries to meet Henry in the finale to understand his side of the story, he finds his sister's dress in his closet. This helps him realize that Djen was abducted by Henry. The sole reason why Sugar took the role of a private investigator was that he wanted to help find missing people like his sister. Similarly, Henry allied with a murderer because he had similar tendencies even before arriving on Earth . Both Henry and Sugar's arcs highlight how nature and nurture together contribute to a person's identity.

Is Sugar's Sister, Djen, Still Alive?

Djen's fate remains ambiguous.

After Sugar learns the truth about Djen's disappearance, he starts believing she may still be alive. This is why, instead of leaving with the rest of the crew, he stays back on Earth. Whether Djen is still alive remains one of the biggest mysteries in the Apple TV+ show, which will only be solved if the series gets renewed for season 2. However, the fact that Sugar is finally accepting and embracing the good and the bad aspects of being human, he will likely not hold himself back from hurting a few people to find his sister .

Apple TV+'s new genre-bending detective series, Sugar, uses real Los Angeles, California filming locations to create an authentic, compelling story.

Why The Other Aliens Are Leaving Earth At The End Of Sugar

Someone on earth is chasing them.

Toward the end of Sugar season 1, Miller and Ruby announce that all aliens must leave Earth before it is too late. Although Sugar and Ruby safely arrive at the airfield where they expect their spaceship to arrive, Miller gets stopped by a police officer as he makes his way to the location. Before he can realize why he was stopped, the police officer shoots him dead and falsely reports she found a dead man in his car. This scene highlights that the humans who knew about the aliens' existence on Earth are unhappy with Sugar's recent actions.

In Sugar 's previous episodes, the titular character's alien allies kept asking him to stop his investigation. Sugar, however, refused to listen to everyone else and continued his investigation. His investigation of Olivia's disappearance ultimately exposed Pavich's crimes and even tainted his family's reputation. Since some high-end politicians knew about the aliens and their motive to learn more about humanity, Pavich's father, a reputed senator, was also likely aware of their existence. This would explain how Henry got to collaborate with Pavich during his crimes.

Sugar stays because he learns he is more empathetic than his alien allies and can make a real difference in the human world.

After Sugar saved Olivia and exposed Pavich's crimes, the Senator realized the aliens had broken their side of the deal by doing a lot more than merely " observing and reporting. " Understanding that they could be a threat to him and other politicians, he and other influential people decided to eradicate them. Ruby and Miller, too, get the hint that Earth is not safe for them anymore after Sugar's actions. Therefore, they plan a departure after learning enough about humans. Sugar stays because he learns he is more empathetic than his alien allies and can make a real difference in the human world.

Is Jonathan Olivia's Real Father?

Sugar's finale subtly reveals jonathan's relationship with olivia.

While looking for clues surrounding Olivia's disappearance, Sugar finds some private pictures of Bernie's first wife, Rachel Kaye, in her belongings. Much later in the show, he notices Rachel wearing the same dress in the photographs as an actress in a movie Jonathan had produced. He then learns the actress was Jonathan's wife. This makes him suspect Jonathan might have had a secret affair with his daughter-in-law, Rachel . When Sugar asks Jonathan about this in the finale, he confirms he and Rachel were in a secret relationship. However, he backed off from the affair after Rachel became pregnant.

Sugar is avaliable for streaming on Apple TV+.

Before he can reveal the truth about his relationship with Olivia, Sugar asks him to keep it to himself because he does not wish to know the private details about their family. However, the fact that Jonathan deeply cares for Olivia and does everything in his power to save her suggests she might be his daughter. It is also hard not to be suspicious about Jonathan and his motives, though, because he secretly got the dead body removed from Olivia's car just to protect his family's reputation. This could mean that he might have gotten Rachel killed when she threatened to expose his family's dark secrets.

Creator Mark Protosevich explains how Colin Farrell’s lead character in Sugar differs from other TV antiheroes like Breaking Bad’s Walter White.

How Sugar's Ending Sets Up Season 2

Sugar has more than one investigation on his hands.

John Sugar's season 1 journey as an investigator only started with one overarching mystery: the reason behind Olivia's disappearance. However, after the season's end, he now has several mysteries left to unpack. From the truth behind Rachel's death to the potential whereabouts of his missing sister , John Sugar must resolve it all in the Apple TV+ show's season 2. Additionally, he also needs to tread more carefully now because some humans are deadset on exterminating aliens like him. Since he missed his last ticket back home and none of his allies have his back, he must hide in the shadows while solving crimes.

After season 1's events, Henry may walk further down his dark path and may even kill innocents along the way.

In Sugar 's finale, the Colin Farrell character also realizes Henry is too consumed by all the darkness he has experienced on Earth. After season 1's events, Henry may walk further down his dark path and may even kill innocents along the way. Therefore, in Sugar season 2, the titular character will have to race against time to stop Henry from harming humans.

Sugar (2024)

“Sugar” is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture and television history: the private detective story. Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, he will also unearth Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others long-buried.

Travel Guides is officially returning in 2024 - and you might recognise new duo Karly and Bri

Nine has announced that Travel Guides is officially returning in 2024, giving viewers the perfect way to see the world from the comfort of their living rooms.

The seventh season is coming hot on the heels of its second consecutive Logie win, and two new Guides will joining the fan-favourites – and you might recognise them.

Karly and Bri are two besties who met while filming Beauty and the Geek a couple of years ago, and have been inseparable ever since.

Like many Aussies, Karly and Bri have never travelled further afield than Bali.

Speaking to 9Entertainment about their arrival Karly said: "Getting the phone call to be Travel Guides was a surreal moment for us as we're such big fans of the show.

Travel Guides 2024 Karly and Bri beauty and the geek

We haven't done much travelling around the world - we've pretty much only been to Bali - so to be able to see the world in all its glory is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And to do it with my best friend is amazing - we're so grateful."

Bri said there's no doubt the duo will bring "some sugar and spice and a barrel of laughs".

"I'd describe us as chaotic travellers. And when we open our mouths we're never really sure what's going to come out. But we can promise young, feminine wild-woman energy," she added.

Karly appeared on Beauty and the Geek in 2022, and won the show alongside Aaron.

Bri appeared in the same season alongside her geek, Chris .

They will be bringing high energy, total glam and wide-eyed wonder as they explore every corner of the world with the rest of the gang.

season 1 travel guides cast

Featuring both extraordinary overseas adventures and domestic delights, the seventh season of Travel Guides will also see most our favourite travel critics return, including Newcastle's budget-hunting Fren family, happy-go-lucky couple Matt and Brett, retired jetsetters Kevin and Janetta, and best mates Kev, Dorian and Teng.

Beauty and the geek 2022 final aaron and karly

The announcement comes after fan-favourites Stack and Mel announced their departure from the show earlier this year.

"The time unfortunately has come for us to put away our passports, hang our hats up, stay home make some money, pay our mortgage, build some sheds, do some fencing... But most importantly be around for our kiddos," they said.

EXCLUSIVE: The first look inside Victoria from Travel Guides wedding

Stack and Mel said while Travel Guides has changed their lives for the better, they are in different stages of their lives now especially as "busy mums to [their] wonderful kids Royce, Wyatt and Savannah".

"Since we've started on the program back in 2016, we were young whipper snappers – 26-years-old, no care in the world and living each day as it comes!" they said.

"Since then we've both learned heaps. Been around the world five times made over 50 eps of Travel Guides and now have a Logie under our belt – who woulda thought?"

The sisters promised that while their televised travels might be over, "this is not the end for [them]".

"We are very competitive rodeo athletes so we might just turn up in a rodeo in your town," they teased.

When to Stream 'Bridgerton' Season 3 on Netflix and What to Know

This spring is all about Polin. The two-part season premieres tomorrow.

season 1 travel guides cast

Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan star in season 3.

It's mid-May, which means the premiere of Bridgerton season 3 is just a short carriage ride away. The Netflix series known for soirees, scandals and sweltering hot romances is turning things over to Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, a pair known as "Polin" for short.

Based on Julia Quinn's Bridgerton book series, Netflix's hugely popular Regency-era show follows the fictional Bridgerton siblings and (so far) details their love stories. The third season will be the first not to follow the order of Quinn's novels, twirling past the third book about Colin's brother Benedict to focus on the fourth. (But that doesn't mean the show won't get to Benedict eventually.) Whereas last season told Anthony and Kate's enemies-to-lovers saga, this season could potentially push Polin from close pals to something more.

Season 3 is a two-parter, with release dates in May and June. Bridgerton will return for season 4, but here's what you need to know about the next sure-to-be-swoon-worthy season of the show.

When does season 3 drop?

Grab a quill (or a more contemporary writing utensil) because you need to jot down two release dates for  Bridgerton's third season .

The first date, marking the release of the first four episodes, is  May 16 , and the remaining four episodes arrive on  June 13 . You should be able to watch the new drops beginning at  3 a.m. ET/midnight PT.

Carries Bridgerton

New to Netflix? You can opt for an ad-free or ad-supported plan to watch all of Bridgerton and the spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Note that if you choose Netflix's $7 per month plan with ads, some titles will be off-limits due to licensing restrictions (the Sydney Sweeney-starring rom-com Anyone but You is one example). Read more about the streamer in our review .

Here are all the episodes in the two-part season:

Episode 1 - Out of the Shadows

Episode 2 - How Bright the Moon

Episode 3 - Forces of Nature

Episode 4 - Old Friends

Episode 5 - Tick Tock

Episode 6 - Romancing Mister Bridgerton

Episode 7 - Joining of Hands

Episode 8 - Into the Light

What can I expect this season?

Bridgerton is set in London in the early 1800s (well, a fantasy version ) and has rotated between the romances of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset/the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Now, Colin (Luke Newton), the third Bridgerton son, and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), the third Featherington daughter, are finally the main characters, and audiences will find out "how (or if...)" they go from friends to lovers, according to Netflix.

In addition to friendship, hidden feelings have been part of Polin's journey so far. Season 3 showrunner Jess Brownell told Entertainment Weekly  that setup made it the right time to have Polin's season. "We've spent two seasons really getting to know Penn and Colin. We've been watching Penn's crush and seeing how oblivious Colin is to it. That's a dynamic that you can only play out for so long before something has to change," Brownell told the magazine.

Nicola Coughlan as Penelope.

Nicola Coughlan sports some new dresses in season 3.

Season 3 won't be a promenade in the park for Colin following the events of the season 2 finale. The season will catch up with Polin after Pen overheard Colin saying he would never dream of courting her. Brownell told the magazine that, in terms of recovering from that, "we're going to make him work for it."

If Colin previously had the upper hand, that'll no longer be the case in season 3. Newton  told Bustle  "Nic and I have talked so many times about how Colin always held the power in their relationship because of how she felt toward him. It was fun to play the complete swap of that, of how she gains this power and confidence. We flipped everything on its head."

The full synopsis, please

If you're desperate for details like you'd be the contents of a thrilling scandal sheet, Netflix has provided a lengthy synopsis about Bridgerton season 3. The rundown includes some spoilers related to a certain Lady Whistledown. (If you don't know what I mean, better bail now and watch some Bridgerton).

Per Netflix, season 3 "finds Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it's time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope's attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly."

Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan as Colin and Penelope.

I'm hoping this scene makes it into the initial episode drop.

"Meanwhile," according to Netflix, "Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he's disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope's growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret."

Who's in the cast

In addition to Newton, Coughlan, Jessie, Ashley and Bailey, the season 3 returning cast includes Luke Thompson as Benedict, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, Lorraine Ashbourne as Mrs. Varley, Harriet Cains as Philipa Featherington, Bessie Carter as Prudence Featherington, Jessica Madsen as Cressida Cowper, Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton, Martins Imhangbe as Will Mondrich, Will Tilston as Gregory Bridgerton, Polly Walker as Portia Featherington and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown.

Hannah Dodd is taking over as Francesca Bridgerton, and other new cast members include Daniel Francis as Marcus Anderson, James Phoon as Harry Dankworth and Sam Phillips as Lord Debling, Pen's mysterious suitor. Page, who starred in season 1 alongside Dynevor, confirmed via Instagram that he won't be in this season, and the same might apply to Dynevor, who told Screenrant she's "just excited to watch (season 3) as a viewer."

The cast of Bridgerton season 3.

The Bridgerton clan.

Will there be a season 4 of Bridgerton? Which sibling is next?

Yes! Netflix renewed Bridgerton for seasons 3 and 4 back in 2021, but which Bridgerton sibling season 4 will center on is still anyone's guess. There's a book for each of the eight siblings, and while the show has strayed from their order, executive producer Shonda Rimes told Entertainment Tonight the aim is to follow each of the sib's romantic stories (presumably over eight seasons). Benedict, who would have been up if the show stuck to Quinn's sequence, could be the chosen one for season 4.

The end of season 3 will include clues as to which sibling is up next, according to Brownell in an interview with TV Insider .

Is there a trailer?

Indeed. In  the official trailer , Eloise is clinging to Cressida instead of her usual bestie Pen. That definitely has to do with Pen and Eloise's heavy fight last season, but it's still tough to see Pen's pained facial expression.

Colin, now looking "sturdier" than ever, wants to help Pen in her quest to find a husband and escape the Featherington household. But the consequences of the finale haven't played out for them, either. Will friendships mend? Will Penelope find a match? The prolonged eye contact in this trailer is giving me my suspicions.

What else can I watch right now?

Season 3 won't leave out last season's love match -- enemies-turned-lovers Kate and Anthony. They still seem happy together, according to the following clip, which includes Dodd, the new actress playing Francesca.

In another peek at season 3 , Pen and Colin's chemistry is on display while Pen appears to be practicing for the real deal with her favorite Bridgerton son. There's also this tense clip showing Pen confronting Colin about his stinging words last season. It's a bit spoiler-y if you'd rather wait to watch the confrontation on the show.
