DEVORE HISTORIC HOMESTEAD TOUR This Alaska Wilderness Tour offers a narrated tour of Historic Talkeetna and a rare opportunity to visit an original and remote Alaskan Homestead, 5 miles north of Talkeetna.

Your ATV Adventure Mount your ATV at Denali Fireside. Short ride to VFW Post. Next stop at the Village Airstrip where Dennis tells the “Story of the Unresolved Murders at Cache Creek, Alaska.” Dennis will give you a review of the places to dine in Talkeetna. Then you’ll fire up your ATVs and head on through Historic Talkeetna. We’ll cross the bridge over the Talkeetna River and head for the Homestead. Story time at the DeVore Homestead, learn about the hardships of homesteading. On to Dennis’ cabin for lunch, target practice, gold panning, berry picking or ? And then it’s back to Talkeetna, Alaska.

Great trip! It was a beautiful day. Our 3 hour  ride wasn't enough!  Our next trip is going to be the all day 8 hour trip. We will be back in 2 years for it can't wait..  Thanks Ken for a great day .

Guided Historic ATV Tour includes Ten-mile Trail Ride, Homestead Visit, Deli  Lunch , Target Practice and Gold Panning. $290 per adult (4 hours), age 10 and under half price. Tour duration depends on number of riders.

Guided Wilderness ATV Ride

Includes ATV Operation and Safety Instructions, Drive through Downtown Talkeetna, Cross Talkeetna River Bridge, Ride ten miles of Groomed Trails. $170 per adult (2 hours), age 10 and under half price.  Ride duration depends on number of riders.

Prices include tax and gear.

Terms: We require a 50% deposit to reserve your tour. Do not send your credit card information via email or on our Reservation Request form as it is not a safe way to handle your sensitive credit card information. Please phone us with your credit card information.

Cancellation Policy: If you should cancel your trip 30 or more days prior to reserved trip date, we will refund your deposit in full less a 10% processing fee. If you cancel within 30 days of your reserved trip date, we will keep the deposit.

Our all inclusive tours include just you/your group; you are not sharing your tour with other people you don't know. We have standard tours but can also take you into the "bush" where there are no people, just wild Alaska. We have lodging available, cabins, camping & shuttle service to & from Anchorage, Talkeetna & the Denali Park area. Our guided fly/reel fishing tours are exceptional. We teach fly casting and fly fishing in needed. Our tours include a shore lunch with the fish caught! We have other tours; gold panning at our privately owned Cache Creek gold mine. If you have limited time in the area, do not hesitate to book this tour. Fred will go out of his way to make sure you have a wonderful, authentic Alaskan experience. During our visit to the Talkeetna area there were wildfires burning, we were unable to make it to the meeting area but Fred and his helper Rich came to the hotel and picked us up so we wouldn't miss out on the fun. He first took us to a secluded spot by a river where the salmon were literally swimming between our feet. We could have reached down and scooped them up, but we were there to learn how to fly fish, so learn we did! Fred was extremely patient with me and my husband....and our limited fishing abilities! He came supplied with everything you could need or want during the tour. The waders fit perfectly, and kept us warm in the glacier water. While driving to our second fishing spot he supplied yummy croissant sandwiches to snack on during the ride. The second fishing spot had just as many salmon and we were able to catch quite a few fish. I had a beautiful trout on my line but unfortunately I didn't snag him and he got off the hook. I was bummed, but Fred is so encouraging before I knew it I had a huge salmon on the line and brought it in successfully. While we enjoyed fishing Rich cooked up some salmon by the shore along with vodka tonic and rum and cokes. We took a break to enjoy a perfect meal of deliciously cooked salmon and a nice cocktail. It was seriously a perfect day, despite the wildfires in area. I just hope that Rich and Fred's property were not impacted. If I am ever back in the area, this would be the first tour I book. It was a great experience and a super fun day!! Thank you Fred and Rich for making this the highlight of our trip!

This was the highlight of our Alaska trip. We did the fishing trip with Fred and He was amazing. We met up with Fred around 2pm. Had a delicious lunch and drinks and caught fish all afternoon. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The spot Fred took us the fish were jumping out of the water right before our eyes. As the sun started to go down it was impossible not to catch a fish. We even ate our fresh fish on the beach. We were celebrating my Mom's 60th Birthday and Fred made it an extra special day. My brother is already wanting to make another Alaska trip next year just to fish with Fred!

My husband and I had a fantastic time panning for gold. Fred picked us up at the train station, allowed extra time for moose spotting, foraging for fiddle ferns, and taught us the ins and outs of panning for gold. We are confident we could pan anywhere now. We could not believe that we found gold and had such a great time doing it!!! This is a unique hands on Alaskan experience. Fred was great! Personalized instruction, great sense of humor, and just a whole lot of fun. After being surprised with dinner and wine for our gold find, Fred dropped us at our hotel, but did not leave until he ensured we got great photos with Denali. We cannot say enough good things about this experience.

I visited Talkeetna with my wife, teenaged daughter and brother-in-law. We did three trips; panning for gold, fly fishing, and an ATV tour. Fred was wonderful! He was really fun to talk to on the rides out to each event (the ride to the gold claim was beautiful and an event in itself...we had great views of Denali!). And he was very informative on each topic and the history of the area. He was excellent in teaching fly fishing had a great spot to fish. I highly recommend his tours!
