Stream Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the Philippines

Swifties in the Philippines, the wait is over! Taylor Swift’s sensational ‘The Eras Tour’ film, which has captivated audiences worldwide, is now accessible for streaming. Celebrating her illustrious 17-year career, the film brings to life the magic of her record-breaking tour. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to the Swiftie community, this article guides you on how to enjoy the concert film from the comfort of your home.

The Eras Tour film, initially released in theaters, is now available for digital rental. It features an extended version, including fan favorites like “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer,” and “Long Live,” which were not part of the theatrical release. The digital release marks a significant milestone for Swift, who has recently been named Time Person of the Year and has broken the Guinness World Record for the highest-grossing music tour ever.

Where to Watch: Available Platforms and Pricing

For fans in the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland, the film is readily available on multiple streaming platforms, including Prime Video, Apple TV+, Xfinity, Vudu, Google Play, YouTubeTV, and SkyTV Premiere. The rental price is set at $19.89 or approximately P1,116.53, with a 48-hour viewing window.

Streaming Solutions for Filipino Fans

But how can Filipino fans join in on the celebration? Although direct access to the film is not yet available in the Philippines, there’s a workaround using a VPN, or virtual private network. A VPN allows you to change your digital location to a country where the film is available, such as the US. Once you’ve subscribed to a VPN service, simply log into your chosen streaming app, and you’ll be ready to watch.

Enhanced Viewing with Prime Video

Prime Video users can enjoy an added feature with the X-Ray content, which provides insights into each song as it unfolds in the film. This platform also allows you to connect to Amazon Music for an even more immersive experience, letting you listen to additional tracks from the tour.

Taylor’s Birthday Surprise and the Tour’s Legacy

Taylor Swift announced the availability of the concert film on her birthday, December 13, as a gift to her fans. The Eras Tour, described by Taylor as a journey through her musical eras, kicked off in March and concluded in August, leaving fans clamoring for more. The digital release of the film ensures that Swifties everywhere can relive the excitement of the live performances.

Anticipation for a Local Streaming Service

As Taylor’s camp has not yet announced a specific streaming platform for the Philippines, fans are eagerly awaiting updates. Past Taylor Swift projects have been released on Netflix and Disney+, which could be potential homes for the Eras Tour film. In the meantime, using a VPN remains the best option for Filipino fans to stream the movie.

In conclusion, while Filipino Swifties may need to take an extra step to stream ‘The Eras Tour’ film, the effort is well worth it. With the digital rental now available, fans can experience the enchantment of Taylor Swift’s music and performances, ensuring that the Eras Tour lives on in the hearts of her global audience.

Meet The Filipina Pianist In Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

line

As we hope Taylor Swift brings her Eras Tour to the Philippines, there is a little Filipino connection with her pianist, Karina DePiano.

Related: Trend Alert: Taylor Swift Is Making The Whole World Shimmer

If you’re a Swiftie, or just scrolling on social media these past few days, then you would know that the biggest pop star in the world, aka Taylor Swift, just began her record-breaking  Eras Tour . Glendale, Arizona was temporarily renamed Swift City in honor of the moment, with the first two nights of the concert being held there. With over 44 songs performed and multiple outfit changes, Taylor brought out all the stops for her latest and longest concert to date.

Across three hours, Taylor went through most of her eras (justice for  Debut ) in a music spectacular unlike any other. Among the many moments that have caught fans’ attention on social media include a part where Taylor dives into the stage and seemingly swims up the stage and the inclusion of the  Bejeweled  TikTok dance in the official choreography of the song.

It then comes to no surprise that international Swifties have been begging Taylor to reveal the dates for the international leg of the tour. And no more is this chant louder than in the Philippines. When Filipino fans organize an event just to convince Taylor to bring the tour to the Philippines, you know it’s serious. But while we wait for Team Taylor to announce international dates (hopefully with the Philippines included), that doesn’t mean blondie has completely forgotten about Filipinos. The  Eras Tour  has a bit of Pinoy representation in one of its band members being a Filipina, and her name is Karina DePiano.

SHE PLAYS THE PIANO

Karina DePiano, pianist at Taylor Swift The Eras Tour

Karina DePiano, an appropriate last name for someone who plays the piano for a living, is a professional pianist, music director, and producer. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Karina has an Italian father and a Filipina mother. And while she did grow up in a mixed family, her Filipino roots were always there. In an interview , she shared that her Filipino side of the family lived in Los Angeles, and thus, she was able to see them often. Her mom spoke to her in Tagalog, which is why she understands it quite well. Classic Filipino food like adobo, sinigang, menudo, chicken afritada, lumpia, pancit, and more were also on the menu at the DePiano household.

Karina DePiano, pianist at Taylor Swift The Eras Tour

“I feel extremely connected to my Filipino heritage. Living in Los Angeles provides me with such a rich connection to Filipino culture because of the big Filipino population here. I also feel so lucky that my immediate family lives here—I’ve grown up being able to hear their personal stories, learn more about my culture, and most importantly devour my Lola’s cooking,” she explained.

Karina DePiano, pianist at Taylor Swift The Eras Tour

Karina learned to play the piano when she was six and graduated from the University of Southern California’ Thornton School of Music’s Popular Music Program with an emphasis on keyboard performance. While she was initially set to train in classical piano, she pivoted to pop music, a wise decision given her extensive career.

PIANIST TO THE STARS

Over the years, Karina has assembled a hefty resume, working with some of the biggest pop stars in the world. It’s a list that includes Troye Sivan, Miley Cyrus, Fifth Harmony, Rita Ora, Daya, Julia Michaels, Kesha, and Alessia Cara. She performed at the  American Music Awards  with Olivia Rodrigo and was the keyboardist for NIKI’s  Nicole  world tour in 2022. (If you went to Head In The Clouds In Manila, then you would have seen her with NIKI during her day two closing set.) Her TV show appearances include  Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show , and more.

Karina DePiano, pianist at Taylor Swift The Eras Tour

Now, Karina has the honor of joining a new family on the  Eras Tour  as the pianist and being part of what is sure to be one of the biggest tours in music history. By the way, this actually isn’t the first time Karina has worked with Taylor. In 2021, she appeared in Swift’s  I Bet You Think About Me  music video where she played the keyboard with the band in the end. This was probably one of Taylor’s complex easter eggs to tease that she was joining the tour. Now that Taylor Swift has that Filipina band member, all she needs to do now is announce those Philippine tour dates.

Taylor Sheesh, the Philippines' top Taylor Swift impersonator, has set out on her own tour across the country in a bid to get the global superstar's attention. Alexis Dave/Taylor Sheesh hide caption

Taylor Sheesh, the Philippines' top Taylor Swift impersonator, has set out on her own tour across the country in a bid to get the global superstar's attention.

MANILA, Philippines — On a recent Saturday night at Brooklyn Warehouse, a large event space in Metro Manila, a tall thin blonde steps onto a long black stage lit up by dancing strobe lights and the glow of hundreds of smartphones set to record.

The crowd loses its mind as she struts, twirls and dances down the stage, clasping a black microphone in one hand.

Her soundtrack?

Taylor Swift's "Lavender Haze ."

But she's not singing.

And though her hair, makeup and sparkly tasseled dress are all on point — she is not Taylor Swift.

She is Taylor Sheesh, the Philippines' top Taylor Swift impersonator, whose own tour around the country is uplifting the spirits of Filipino Swifties (what Swift's fans call themselves), disappointed that the real Taylor did not add the country to the Asian leg of her The Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift: Tiny Desk Concert

Taylor Swift: Tiny Desk Concert

Taylor Sheesh is the drag persona of Mac Coronel, 28, of Manila. He says that even though he's been impersonating Swift onstage since late March, it can still take hours to get into character.

"If ever there's a big production, it will take one or two weeks because I need to practice the [choreography], the costumes and her makeup and also the wig," he told NPR. "So I'm trying to get 90% accurate."

It's working.

Taylor Sheesh performs.

In recent months, Taylor Sheesh has skyrocketed in popularity on social media. Now she's filling event spaces with her concerts, all involving lip-syncing a medley of Swift songs carefully edited together.

Coronel thinks it's "so very sad" that Swift isn't coming to the Philippines.

"So we're trying to get her attention because the Philippines is Taylor Nation Country," he says.

Indeed, for years Swift has dominated Philippine rankings for the most-streamed artist. And last year, according to Spotify, she was the country's No. 1 listened-to artist.

This devotion has spilled into ticket sales for Swift's concert schedule for other parts of Asia, such as Singapore, where she will be performing six concerts.

Klook, a Manila-based travel agency and official partner for The Eras Tour's Singapore dates next year, reported that not only did its travel packages to Singapore — which come with two concert tickets and a hotel room and cost the equivalent of hundreds of dollars — sell out in less than 24 hours, most of their customers to snap them up were from the Philippines.

Though Swift did perform in the Philippines in 2014, the reasons for her not coming now vary, though none are certain.

Many disappointed Swifties NPR spoke with bemoan the Philippines' lack of money to afford Swift shows, as well as the lack of concert infrastructure, namely a stadium big enough to cater to her — both valid arguments, says Peter Delantar, president of Insignia Presents, a Manila-based concert promoter and events company.

Not only can artists' fees be a huge expense, but the Philippines' only conveniently located stadiums can also only hold about 12,000 people, Delantar says. "I feel like there's a lot more artists now that are able to sell 10,000-plus tickets. Infrastructure-wise, we haven't been able to catch up."

Taylor Swift just made Billboard history, again

Taylor Swift just made Billboard history, again

As Filipinos blame themselves for failing to lure Swift to perform in their country, they hold out hope.

"It's OK," Swiftie Nika Cel Benitez, 22, of the Philippine province of Cavite, says. "Maybe there will be a next time that she'll be coming here."

For now, she says, a night out with friends seeing Swift's greatest Filipino impersonator will have to do.

‘Please come’: Taylor Swift fans in south-east Asia hope for tour date

With Singapore the only stop announced, the star’s huge followings in the Philippines and Thailand are left to rue their lack of suitable infrastructure

O n social media, fans are calling it the “great war”. Tips are being shared on how best to prepare. Online support groups are sharing experiences. Relatives and friends have been enlisted to assist in the struggle.

The prospect of staring for hours at a screen in the hope of securing a Taylor Swift tour ticket is widely known by now, but never more so than across south-east Asia, where just one tour stop, Singapore, has been included on the star’s schedule.

Fans began queueing outside post offices in Singapore on Wednesday, hoping to secure tickets on Friday, reported the Straits Times , but elsewhere in the region, fans have blamed unstable politics and poor infrastructure as some of the reasons why their home countries are missing from the star’s schedule.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer wrote in a recent editorial that complaints from fans had “ended up highlighting the sad state of Philippine infrastructure”.

The country is home to a large Swift fanbase. Quezon City in Metro Manila was once listed by Spotify as being home to the fifth-biggest number of Swift’s listeners in a ranking of global cities.

Prior to the announcement of the tour dates, the fan group Swifties Philippines ran a hashtag campaign #WeWantErasTourPhillipines to try to draw Swift to the country, even organising an event by drag performer Taylor Sheesh, who recreated the Eras tour in a packed mall in Quezon City. Taylor Sheesh’s lip-sync performance, complete with costume changes, went viral on social media.

Charlyn Suizo, 30, a software engineer from Laguna, and an admin for the Swifties Philippines group, hoped it would send a message to Swift. “We organised several campaigns to knock on Taylor Swift’s door to really [ask her to] listen to us and invite her to come here,” she says.

Suizo was saddened that no tour dates were announced for Manila, but adds that she thinks infrastructure is a problem. “We don’t have a big stadium that would fit the stage, the technology that would be used for the logistics and the necessary setups for her to do the concert,” she says.

Transport connectivity is another problem. There is no direct public transport link to the Philippine Arena, the biggest stadium, which can seat 50,000 people. Suizo spent four hours travelling from Manila to the venue for a recent Bruno Mars concert. About half the audience arrived late, she added.

“Let’s hope there is [investment], because it really is an eye-opener for the government and everyone,” she added. The Philippines was missing out on the economic opportunities associated with hosting big concerts, says Suizo.

By contrast, Taylor’s six shows in Singapore , where tickets start at S$108 ($80), are expected to bring a major boost to its tourism sector, as is a visit by Coldplay, which recently announced six shows there.

Singaporean media have pointed to the city state’s connectivity, facilities and the tourism board’s efforts to position it as an entertainment and events hub as reasons for its attractiveness.

‘We love you, we are waiting for you’

In Thailand , fans believe Taylor’s tour dates might also reflect concerns about political instability. Many remember bitterly how Swift had to cancel her 2014 concert in Bangkok after the military coup by the now caretaker prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocha.

Pongpond Karnsubwedchkij, 19, of the Thai fan group Saratay, says he plans to travel to watch her shows elsewhere. But he adds: “I would love to hear her say ‘Sawatdee kah Thailand’ rather than ‘Hello Japan’, or ‘Hello Singapore.’”

He thinks the political situation is changing, citing the recent election, in which the progressive Move Forward party won the most seats.

Pongpond’s message to Swift? “We love you, we are waiting for you and we will continue to wait. And finally, Prayuth is no longer prime minister. Please come here.”

Elsewhere, some have questioned whether some performers have been deterred by intolerant attitudes in the host country. When Coldplay announced tour dates in Indonesia and Malaysia in May, it was met with a backlash from conservative politicians and religious groups over the group’s support for LGBTQ+ issues.

But Swifties say they will continue to celebrate her music in their home countries, with both Saratay and Swifties Philippines organising listening parties to coincide with the release of the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) album.

Many will also keep trying their luck getting tickets for Singapore. Gabriel Eric Villanueva promised to try to get tickets for his fiancee, Smile Carvajal, when he proposed last year. On Wednesday, he wore the same shirt from the day of his proposal for good luck, while his friend, who qualified for a presale, entered the queue on his behalf.

They were number 257,930 in the queue, but unsuccessful.

He will try again on Friday when the general sale begins. They will buy any ticket that is available, as long as it is reasonably priced. “Even if it’s just the cheapest ticket – just to be there,” says Carvajal.

Taylor Swift is, at long last, headed back on the road. Following this week’s monumental chart debut of Midnights , her tenth studio album, Swift announced the U.S. leg of her 2023 Eras tour on Tuesday morning (Nov. 1), confirming her first official tour in nearly five years following months of rumors.

“I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time. I’ve been planning for ages and I finally get to tell you: I’m going back on tour,” Swift said on GMA . “The tour is called the Eras tour and it’s a journey through all of the musical eras of my career.”

Taylor Swift Is ‘IN SHAMBLES’ Over ‘Midnights’ Dominating the Hot 100 Top 10

Swift said that after kicking off in the U.S., the tour will go on an international swing, with those dates to be announced soon.

Support on the tour will come via a rotating cast of opening acts including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, Muna, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn. The public on-sale date for the tour will be 10 a.m. local venue time on Nov. 18. Swift has partnered with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program, with fans able to register here for the TaylorSwiftTix presale now through Nov. 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Registered fans will get a code with exclusive access to purchase tickets on Nov. 15 starting at 10 a.m. local venue time.

Previous Lover Fest Verified Fan purchasers will get preferred access to participate in the TaylorSwiftTix presale; make sure to register with the same Ticketmaster Account as your Lover Fest purchase. Capital One cardholders will have priority access to purchase tickets on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. local venue time through Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. local venue time or until supplies last.

Swift’s planned follow-up to the Reputation tour, Lover Fest, was scheduled to take place in 2020 following the 2019 release of her Lover album, but was canceled due to the pandemic. Since the Reputation tour, Swift has released four original studio albums — Lover , 2020’s Folklore and Evermore , and Midnights — as well as two re-recorded albums, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) , both in 2021.

This week, Midnights blasted in atop the Billboard 200 albums chart with 1.578 million equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 27, according to Luminate — the biggest week for any album in nearly seven years. Meanwhile, Swift made history on the Hot 100 by becoming the first artist to claim the chart’s entire top 10 in a single frame, with “Anti-Hero” debuting at No. 1 to become her ninth career chart-topper.

AUDIOJUNKIE: Taylor Swift brings biggest tour of 2023 to the movie screen

At a glance.

The best part of a show is always the opener, and this is no exception. With “Miss American & The Heartbreak Prince” providing an ethereal sounding overture, the tension builds as what seemed like giant peacocks strut the length of a long catwalk-of-a-stage and converge in the middle, and boom!

Taylor Swift movie still from The Eras Tour.jpg

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour is the biggest concert draw of the year and now the biggest concert film of the year as it reaches blockbuster status at the tills with good reason.

The concert movie starts without so much fuss and fanfare. Just a 13-second clock countdown until the celebration kicks off. And when the first few images come on screen, we’re transported to SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, where a sold-out Eras Tour show is about to erupt.

Taylor Swift is at the center—in glittery tights, knee-high boots, like a superheroine--elevated six feet on a block piece of stage as she segues into “Cruel Summer.”

“Alright Los Angeles, we have arrived…” Swift beckoned, “at the very first bridge of the evening. Now, I’ve a question. Does anybody here know the lyrics to this bridge? Prove it!” To which the whole stadium obliged.

The Eras Tour is the culmination of Swift’s music career so far. And every major phase is highlighted in this live re-telling. The Lover Era, Fearless Era, Red Era, and so forth. And while it goes without saying, each phase has its share of a Taylor Swift hit. But played in the Eras setting, it takes on a life of its own. “The Man'' kicked up the pitch a notch higher early on, with its 80’s flavor providing a counterpoint to Swift’s subsequent reading of “Lover” that was especially sentimental. And you know the years have gone by when songs like “Fearless,” “You Belong With Me,” and “Love Story” feel like a welcome throwback.

Swift, with her squad of dancers, a crack unit of backup singers, and a merry band of musicians, were all needed to flesh out and interpret the music and more. But coupled with the massive stage display that seems to move with Taylor and the gang, it brings it to another level.

Over three hours, Swift took us on a musical, mood, and atmospheric ride; the highlights are plenty.  The Evermore phase included a reading of “Willow,” where Taylor and her coven of dancers in their cloaks and lighted pumpkins brought an arty-gothic feel to the proceedings. Ditto the dinner scene fight between lovers in moody “Marjorie.” Each song, cut on its own, is a stand-out performance.

Midway, an exceptionally slick and sassy Reputation Era set, raised the bar further with stunning visuals. From the catwalk, turning into a gigantic serpent (during “Ready For It?”) and later turning into a pool that Taylor dove into. The stage and effects of the LCD tech were a spectacle in itself. Only the imagination was the limit here, and Taylor Swift and her team definitely didn’t skimp on that.

With over 40 songs, high points are a-plenty. The 10-minute version of “All Too Well” is easily one of them, as is Swift's solo piano on “You’re On Your Own, Kid.” The Folklore set is a personal favorite:  “The1,” “Betty,” the ballroom set of “The Last Great American Dynasty,” and ethereal “August” then later, Taylor almost howls, “Don’t call me kid! Don’t call me baby!” as she jumped right into the chorus of “Illicit Affairs.”

And still, there’s more as the Midnight's Era takes us up to speed where Taylor Swift is right now: At the top of her game, the most influential artist of her generation and easily one of the all-time greats.

Taylor Swift

Kim Kardashian reportedly unhappy with Taylor Swift's latest song, speculated to reignite their past feud. https://t.co/R7SuqWjHTx — SheKnows (@SheKnows) April 24, 2024

There was also a playful yet insightful call to action from the community, one that cheekily highlights the environmental responsibilities often shifted onto everyday folks — responsibilities that, in all fairness, should be tackled by the bigger players causing most of the environmental impact. “If every Swiftie reduces their carbon footprint we might be able to balance Taylor’s emissions,” quipped one fan.

Swift’s camp has kept mum on this latest wave of scrutiny, though they’ve previously addressed Sweeney’s tracking projects with a cease and desist for what they termed “stalking and harassing behavior.” Despite this, Swift’s team has underscored her involvement in various environmental causes and efforts to offset her tours’ carbon footprint. However, as climate change discussions grow more urgent, even adored celebrities like Swift are scrutinized by fans eager for accountability.

Will Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Setlist Change After ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Release?

Will Taylor Swift s Eras Tour Setlist Change After The Tortured Poets Department Release 001

Taylor Swift ’s The Tortured Poets Department has already captivated the world , leaving her fans to wonder whether any of the new songs will pop up on her Eras Tour setlist.

Swift, 34, kicked off her three-hour concert series in March 2023 in Arizona, soon traversing the United States, Central and South America, Asia and Australia. The shows highlight most of her past albums: Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights . There also is a section dedicated to “surprise songs,” where Swift adds two new acoustic renditions (most recently, mash-ups) to the show.

Swift has been on hiatus since early March, weeks before The Tortured Poets Department dropped on Friday, April 19. The record, her 11th studio album, features 31 songs including “Fortnight,” “So Long, London,” “Fresh Out the Slammer,” “So High School” and “thanK you aIMee.”

Swift’s fans planning to see Eras later this year — the tour leg kicks off in Paris on Thursday, May 9 — have since taken to social media, curious if they will be able to hear any TTPD live.

“OK listen I NEED Taylor to add ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart’ to the Eras Tour setlist. … Just that ONE. … PLEASE. … It was MADE for the Eras Tour !!!!!!!!!!” a social media user wrote via X.

Another added, “I am so obsessed with Taylor’s new album idk how to survive the Eras Tour (if I actually go twice I might just drop dead afterwards).”

Will Taylor Swift s Eras Tour Setlist Change After The Tortured Poets Department Release 002

Since Eras has sections dedicated to Swift’s previous albums , it is possible that TTPD could get its own mini-set in the lineup. Not all of her preexisting cohorts feature the same amount of songs, so Swift could cut some songs in order to add a time for Tortured Poets additions .

Spotify added further fuel to the fire on Friday as Swifties noticed the streaming platform’s official video for “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” a TTPD track, features footage solely from the Eras Tour.

Related: Breaking Down All of Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' Surprise Song Mash-Ups

Swift’s musical director David Cook , who has also been featured on several of her past LPs, also hinted that TTPD songs could make an appearance on the tour lineup.

“Not sure how much I can add to the discourse other than this album is really REALLY good. You FEEL it,” Cook wrote via Instagram on Friday, quoting “Loml” with a mind-blown emoji.

According to eagle-eyed Swifties that captured screenshots, Cook also wrote, “Wait until you hear the live versions.” The addition, however, has since been deleted.

Of course, it is also possible that Swift will drop a TTPD single in her surprise song section.

“How will The Tortured Poets Department affect the Eras Tour ? Hopefully only on surprise songs (in a good way),” an X user theorized.

While Swift has yet to address if TTPD will affect her Eras Tour setlist, she’s given fans insight into how she picks song s for the acoustic section.

“This has become my favorite part of the show because it’s become very chaotic and it’s become a challenge for me to think of new things to do for every single city,” Swift told the crowd in Singapore in March. “And hope that I’m doing something that you guys might like. It’s been a blast!”

Per the Grammy winner, she “invented [her] crazy acoustic section,” to be able to play “as many songs” as she could way over the 44 staples at each show. Adding TTPD tracks there seems like an easy way to do just that, if you ask Us.

The Tortured Poets Department is out now and Swift’s Eras Tour resumes on Thursday, May 9.
