What people are saying

“Great tour. Awesome tour guide and tour group. Amazing places. Breathtaking waterfalls. Beautiful scenery. Heaps of fun. Options to suit various needs / fitness/ abilities. We were extremely well looked after by Evan our tour guide who gave us interesting and entertaining commentary and lots of opportunities to experience the beauty and wonder of Tasmania’s natural landscape, wilderness and wildlife. “

“ Thank you for a breathtakingly wonderful Famous Five Tour. Tom (guide) is such a great guide combining a passion for all things Tasmanian, a love of nature, and brilliant people skills. He shared his knowledge in such a generous way. The scenery was stunning, the drive very comfortable, the Motels really good, and the perfect size group. Tom wisely advised us to lookout for each other and helped us become a great team. I’m just sorry it’s over. Thank you for great communication throughout. “

“Our 10 day tour has been fantastic. Justin (guide) was forever cheerful and went out of his way to accommodate our preferences. It’s so unusual to have a guide who can let the itinerary ebb and flow a bit (but still seem to get where we need to be when we need to be there). And Tassie itself is amazing. Just beautiful. I loved this holiday and I’m so sorry it’s finished. “

See what people are saying about tasmanian vacations....

The holiday to Tasmania has been and gone, and my wife and I just want you to know that we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The package that you put together worked a treat and everything worked like clockwork. Thank you for your meticulous work in booking everything for us.

Hi Ben, Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that our trip was absolutely fantastic! We got back to Brisbane late Friday and can’t stop talking about it and looking at the over 1,200 photos I took! Thanks again for organising everything. It was wonderful!

Hi Zuleika, we just wanted to send our thanks to you now that we have returned from our trip to Tasmania. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of weeks. The scenery was fantastic, the experiences you booked for us were really enjoyable and we didn’t experience any problems. Again, thank you so much for organising our trip.

Hi Talise, I just want to thank-you and the Tasmanian Vacations team for organising our Tassie holiday earlier this month. It went off without a hitch. The hotels and B&B were great. So was the cruise and railway journey. And the rental car. At every place, the staff were thoroughly professional and friendly, like nearly every local we met. We'll be back.

Hi Talise, We just wanted to thank you for organising the accommodation and dinners for our trip last weekend. It was a fantastic 5 days and everything went smoothly!

Hi Caitlyn, Just a note to say how happy we were on our all too brief visit. The heritage accomodation was lovely, the staff were helpful and answered our every need. Congratulations on a great job, two octogenarians who thought they had seen all, greatly impressed.

A big thank you for arranging our Tasmanian holiday. Everything went very smoothly so we had a very relaxing, enjoyable holiday. The accommodations were superb and we did so enjoy the local food and wines. Each region had highlights of their own but have to say our last two nights in Hobart at the Henry Jones were the icing on the cake for the whole trip. Thanks again for your organisation, we would recommend Tasmania as a destination and definitely recommend you to do the organising.

Talise, just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time in Tasmania. It was a truly brilliant holiday for us both. Everything you arranged went smoothly and we were happy with all the locations and accommodation you selected and recommended. We particularly loved the day trip to Josef Chromy in Launceston and the day cruise on the Gordon River. Our accommodation in Hobart was perfect as it was so close to the markets and Mona ferry. We will be sure to recommend your services to friends and family. Thank you so much for everything.

Dear Talise, thank you very much for helping us organise our Tasmanian vacation. We had an amazing time. Our highlights would have to include the national parks Apsley Gorge, Wineglass Bay, Montezuma Falls and the Wombats at Cradle Mountain. Attractions wise we loved the Bicheno Penguin Tour, Seahorse World, Platypus House (the echidna experience was brilliant), Cataract Gorge Chairlift, and Devils@Cradle (we viewed a night time feeding). We had a fabulous holiday and appreciate your help with organising our itinerary.

Thank you very much for your time for putting together our trip to Tasmania. You have done a marvellous job and we enjoyed our accommodation that you organised for us. We had a great time in Tasmania, with great weather. Once again THANK YOU.

Brenda and myself would like to thank Tasmanian Vacations for the great way the organised our recent trip to Tasmania. Every aspect went extremely well making our holiday not good but GREAT.

Caitlyn, we are now back home again following a wonderful trip to Flinders Island. We were more than impressed with Island Quarters and the way that Roweena looked after us. The unit itself is really nice and the location of course was perfect, being only a few metres away from everything in Whitemark and being so close to the beach. We look forward to using Tas Vacations again.

Talise, thank you for organising a wonderful trip (only one day of rain!). The accommodation was great - our favourite being Gardenia House. Our favourite place was Stanley and the Bruny Island trip was a treat. We will be back to do more on the East Coast.

Kim, we really wanted to let you know how impressed we were with all of the accommodation and tours that you booked for us. The standard was great – stand outs for us were the Corinna Wilderness Experience and the Oyster Catcher Villa at Bruny Island. There were no problems anywhere with our bookings and we were very impressed with the friendliness of staff. We wanted to thank you for organising the trip for us.

Caitlyn, I write to express our appreciation for your arranging the 'ground' bookings for our tour of the State. Your expertise in interpreting our needs led to a great experience for us. We enjoyed all the accommodation and tours on the itinerary. Everything worked well in terms of location, time and distance.

Caitlyn was fantastic in arranging our Tasmanian holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for her to arrange and even the changes we asked her to make. We had no issues on our Tasmanian holiday. A beautiful and friendly place to visit and I certainly hope to go back one day to see what I couldn't fit in this time.

I was impressed with how Talise had looked after my alterations to original plans and the speed that she was able to resolve the alterations. Thank you Talise. My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

I just wanted to reach out and thank Zuleika very much for the most wonderful holiday. We had such a great time travelling around Tassie and we are in awe of how beautiful the scenery is as well as the food and people. We will certainly be back as 10 days was not even close enough to feeling satisfied. I will be in touch later this year for stage 2 adventures. Thanks again for everything.

It was absolutely fantastic!!. Everything from the car pickup and drop off, to all the different accommodations. It went seamlessly and we both had the best time. The choices you made for us were amazing and we loved every minute of our time in Tasmania thanks to your work and expertise.

Karen and her team were excellent. They know Tasmania and were quick to make helpful suggestions. We would have no hesitation using Tasmanian Vacations again or recommending them to friends.

Jess our consultant was amazing pulling our holiday together so quickly. It was a fabulous trip!

Booking through Tasmanian Vacations helped make our trip to Tasmania a very special one - from the ease of car hire, national park pass & brilliant accommodation - everything was terrific. This allowed us to have a very enjoyable holiday that, had we tried to book this ourselves, may not have been possible. Thank you, Tasmanian Vacations for your efforts!

The accommodation provided was wonderful, and we enjoyed the whole experience. Have recommended your company to family and friends.

Zuleika was fantastic and helped me through the planning process. So simple and easy.

Hi Sophie, we wanted to thank you for organising our wonderful Tasmanian holiday! We just got back last week and are still buzzing from how fantastic it was. All the places you chose for us were varied and interesting with superb accommodation. We wanted to let you know what a great job you did. We will recommend you to all our friends.

It was absolutely fantastic!

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, experiencing so much beauty in this part of Australia.

From our initial enquiry we were blown away by the help provided by Ben and Jess. They certainly made our trip run smoothly and did all the thinking for us. We had a fabulous 9 days and are recommending Tasmanian Vacations to all our friends. You could not do it better yourself.

Just wanted to say we have returned from our stay down at Tassie and it was amazing. Thank you for putting all that together. It was so easy and stress free.

Had a fantastic holiday in Tasmania. Everything went smoothly starting from booking, then car hire and accomodation. The Coal River Farm voucher set us up with delicious treats and a wonderful lunch to begin our Tassie adventure

Many thanks to Ben for his help. It was a last-minute trip and Ben was very patient and helpful.

Testimonials.

This was a great tour and made exceptional by our guide/driver Morgan who has a vast knowledge of Tasmania & it's history & was engaged and caring with our group. I would highly recommend Fun Tassie Tours to anyone. We met 2 other Fun Tassie coaches & their guide/drivers who were friendly, particularly 'Santa Claus' I think his name is Dean. Thanks Morgan for an unforgettable tour & sharing Tasmania's history as I am a lover of history.

Well where do you start, this tour is the best thing we could have done to see as much as possible in a short time frame. Everything was very well organised, meals, accommodation, walks, pit stops and free time in each location. Big thank you to Dean and the occasional meet ups with Morgan. Both full of knowledge off Tasmania, history, fauna and to present day. We learnt so much. Totally enjoyed every moment off this tour. Big 👍 for Dean who made this tour so memorable and special. Thank you

Perfect Tasmania (13 Days)

What people love about fully guided tours in tasmania.

This tour was absolutely fantastic. We were able to squeeze in and see so much of Tasmania’s natural beauty! Our tour guide Hayden was amazing - cool, calm and knowledgeable! I was overjoyed when he helped us spot some platypus in their natural environment. Whilst on the bus itself he shared heaps of information and fun facts to keep us entertained. There is a lot of early starts - which is totally fair enough since it meant we could enjoy so much of what Tasmania has to offer. There is a lot of walking - but there are many choices of walks to do, so you can chose the level of difficulty in most places and all walks are optional. One of my favourite trips in Australia so far ?
Excellent Larry our guide took very good care of us. Did his best to ensure we all were ok and happy
Sure it would have been radical to do the hike independently; cheaper yet more daunting, lonely, and stressful and ultimately I would've kept procrastinating and never reached my goal of hiking Cradle Mountain. By booking a tour it made me accountable and I achieved my goal and it feels great!

A first-timer’s guide to Tasmania

Stroll Hobart's tranquil harborfront past sailing boats and ocean trawlers © Cyrus_2000 / Shutterstock

Anchoring Australia at its southeastern tip, the country's smallest and only island state is a diverse destination that's perfect for independent exploration. Stroll amid the heritage streetscapes of Hobart and Launceston – both now also infused with a discreet cosmopolitan sheen and restaurants showcasing local produce. Road trip to beaches and vineyard-hop past the improbably blue waters of Tasmania's east coast, or venture well off the beaten path down the remote west coast. You can also recharge and relax after outdoor adventures – on two legs or two wheels – with a Tasmanian whisky or craft beer.

In a country as massive and expansive as Australia, Tasmania is a more compact destination where a morning's drive could transport you from arcing beaches and rust-colored headlands to wild and rugged sub-alpine landscapes.

Jets of fire at the entrance to Dark Mofo winter festival in Hobart.

When should I go to Tasmania?

Offering the most settled weather, the best season for travel is Tasmania's southern hemisphere spring and summer from October to March. From December to February the sublime bays and beaches of the Freycinet Peninsula are perfect for day hikes, swimming and kayaking. Just bear in mind that Tasmania is very green for a reason, and it's not uncommon to have the occasional rain shower year-round.

Autumn and winter from April to September offer good accommodation discounts, and it's a great time to bundle up beside an open fire and enjoy Tasmania's excellent food, beer, whisky and wine. Cultural highlights including Hobart's dazzling MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) can be enjoyed year-round, while the six-day, five-night hiking adventure of Cradle Mountain's Overland Track is best undertaken during Tasmania's summer and early autumn (December to April). Look forward to warmer and longer days, and hiking past lakes and peaks framed by alpine flowers.

Popular festivals include March's Ten Days on the Island , enlivening venues around the state with music, literature and film (biennially in odd-numbered years), Dark MOFO , the city of Hobart's winter festival in June, and Taste of Summer , a flavor-packed highlight on Hobart's waterfront for 10 days around New Year's Eve.

How much time should I spend in Tasmania?

Although Tasmania is a relatively small island – it's possible to drive north from Hobart to Launceston in less than three hours – roads can be winding and circuitous in mountain and forested areas. An absolute minimum time would be a week to 10 days, taking in Hobart, Maria Island , the Tasman Peninsula and Freycinet National Park. Extend your travels to two weeks to include a few days of gentle hikes around Cradle Mountain National Park , and time spent enjoying Launceston's relaxed heritage vibe and the history and vineyards of the nearby Tamar Valley .

Is it easy to get in and around Tasmania?

Most travelers arrive in Hobart on direct flights from mainland Australia cities including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Air New Zealand has seasonal flights linking Auckland and Hobart from October to March. Another option is traveling on the S pirit of Tasmania car ferry from Geelong near Melbourne to Devonport on Tasmania's northern coast. It's a popular route for Australian travelers exploring their nation's most southern state. Tasmania has no train services and relatively limited statewide bus services. It is possible to use buses and shuttles to reach popular destinations like Cradle Mountain and Freycinet National Parks, but having your own transport is essential to reach most other highlights of the state.

Traveling by campervan is also popular, and local and international car and campervan rental companies are represented at Hobart airport and also in the city center. Both Hobart and Launceston are compact and historic cities best explored by walking.

Top things to do in Tasmania

Mountain bike down Hobart's kunanyi/Mt Wellington , stopping for a beer at the historic Cascade Brewery , before fish and chips beside the harbor.

Take the boat from Hobart's waterfront to be entertained, informed and occasionally bewildered when visiting MONA (Museum of Old and New Art).

Learn about Tasmania's tragic and poignant convict history at the Port Arthur Historic Site on the beautiful, but rugged, Tasman Peninsula.

Experience the grandeur of the 300m-high sea cliffs of Tasman National Park , either on an exciting boat trip with Tasman Island Cruises , or while tackling the Three Capes Walk .

Catch a ferry to Maria Island National Park for coastal mountain biking, more convict history, and to meet a Maria menagerie that includes wombats, kangaroos, pademelons and Cape Barren geese.

Negotiate a shaded path around Dove Lake in Cradle Mountain National Park before meeting Tasmanian devils at the Devils@Cradle wildlife refuge.

Kayak or walk to remote beaches around Freycinet National Park before lunching on fresh local oysters and premium East Coast wine at the Freycinet Marine Farm .

Learn about lutruwita/Tasmania's growing understanding of the state's Indigenous heritage on a walking tour with Wallaby Walkabout Tours in Launceston's Cataract Gorge .

Feast on relaxed fine dining and savor some of the world's best cool climate varietals while vineyard hopping in the Tamar Valley's Pipers Brook wine region.

The lush green rain forest in the Tarkine.

My favorite thing to do in Tasmania

After checking out the surprising dining and craft beer scenes of Launceston, I love to drive down the remote and windswept west coast, starting at colorful and historic Stanley, and then meandering along sylvan and shaded forested backroads on the Tarkine Drive . Continuing south on the isolated Western Explorer Road – it's worth renting a 4WD vehicle for added comfort and security – my final destination is Corinna Wilderness Village , a former mining and forestry hamlet that's the gateway to west coast adventures. Comfortable accommodation is in restored miners' cottages, and days of kayaking on tea-coloured, tannin-laced waters or cruising along the Pieman River in the historic MV Arcadia are topped off with hearty meals and Tasmanian wine in Corinna's Tarkine Pub.

How much money do I need for Tasmania?

Like the rest of Australia, Tasmania is not a budget destination , and accommodation and dining costs can soon accumulate. Supermarkets are more affordable and many travelers self-cater for breakfast. Enjoying the state's food scene at cafes and restaurants is still an essential use of your travel budget.

Distances covered are much lower than on mainland Australia, so you’ll use less petrol in Tasmania. For good-value eating, browse the global array of food trucks at popular markets like Hobart's Farm Gate Market and Launceston's Harvest Market . Many of the state's scenic and natural attractions are free to explore.

Average daily costs

  • double room in a motel: AU$200-250
  • double room in a heritage B&B: AU$300-400
  • entrance to MONA: AU$39
  • Aboriginal Australia walking tour in Launceston: AU$50
  • coffee: AU$5-6
  • pint of craft beer: AU$10-15
  • glass of Tamar Valley wine: AU$10-15
  • main course at a pub bistro: AU$25-35
  • car rental per day: AU$50-70 per day

Always pack plenty of layers

At a latitude of around 42°S and sometimes buffeted from winds sweeping in from the Southern Ocean, Tasmania's weather can often be changeable and capricious. Be prepared with a few layers of warm and dry gear, just in case that sunny Hobart waterfront stroll suddenly takes a different turn.

National Parks for less

Even if you're only visiting Cradle Mountain and Freycinet National Parks, it's worth buying a National Parks Holiday Pass (AU$89.50) from Tasmania's Parks & Wildlife Service . It gives a vehicle and up to eight passengers entry to all parks for two months. Factor in visits to other national parks including Maria Island and you're ahead of the game.

Slow down and take your time

Tasmania may look relatively compact on Google Maps, but traveling around the state will probably take you longer than expected. Roads can be winding and narrow, especially through forests, so just enjoy the drive, don't try and pack too much in – and don’t forget to leave time for the occasional serendipitous detour.

Travis Kelce 's Eras Tour debut marked a big milestone in his relationship with  Taylor Swift . In the wake of Kelce's onstage cameo in London, a source tells ET that "it was so much fun for Taylor and Travis to be on stage together at her show."

"It was definitely a new, defining point in their relationship and they had a blast getting the chance to [share] a personal side of themselves with the world," the source says. "They are so happy with how everything turned out and loved seeing all the fan reactions."

Leading up to the epic surprise, the source says Swift and Kelce "had a great time practicing together behind the scenes and were so cute and sweet with each other."

"Travis only had one night of rehearsal, the evening before he performed onstage, and didn't miss a beat," the source added. "Taylor was beaming from ear to ear as Travis took on the dapper role. The two are hoping he can make a cameo again in the future."

Kelce discussed his public support for his girlfriend on the  Bussin' With the Boys  podcast, explaining, "You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I'm not here to hide anything," he said. "... That's my girl, that's my lady, I'm proud of that."

Taylor Swift Brings ‘Eras Tour’ to Dublin: Which Surprise Songs Did She Perform During Acoustic Set?

Feature Taylor Swift Brings Eras Tour to Dublin Which Surprise Songs Did She Perform During Acoustic Set

Taylor Swift ’s highly anticipated acoustic set did not disappoint when her Eras Tour arrived in Dublin.

The singer, 34, is performing three shows at Aviva Stadium in Ireland on Friday, June 28, Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30, in the midst of the European leg of her record-breaking tour.

While most fans have memorized the run of the show, the acoustic section gives Swift an opportunity to keep the audience on their toes by pulling from her deep catalog of songs throughout her nearly two-decade career. Even famous Swifties get a kick out of guessing which tracks the pop star will select, as Erin Andrews revealed earlier this month.

The sportscaster, 46, shared during the Tuesday, June 25, episode of her “Calm Down” podcast that she tried to get inside information on the surprise songs while attending one of Swift’s London shows.

“ Kylie [ Kelce ] and I are sitting there and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, it’s gotta be ‘Black Dog.’ It’s gotta be ‘Black Dog.’ I feel like it is because ‘So Long, London’ I feel like she would’ve done last,” Andrews recalled of predicting songs from Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department .

Andrews then consulted Kylie, 32, whose brother-in-law Travis Kelce has been dating Swift since last summer. “I was like, ‘Kylie, do you know what they are?’ And she said, ‘I don’t,’” she explained.

When Kylie was unable to give Andrews the scoop, she turned to Travis, 34. “So I said, ‘Travis! Do you know what they are?’ And he was great, whether he had a poker face or not, but he was like, ‘I think it’s an old one and then one of the new ones,’” she said.

Andrews described the moment as “adorable,” adding, “He goes, ‘And the bridge leads to this.’ I just looked at him and go, ‘The fact that you just said bridge blows my mind.’”

Attendees of Swift’s Sunday, June 23, concert got an additional surprise when Travis joined her on stage for her “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” costume change. In an Instagram post the following day, she gushed that she was “still cracking up/ swooning over ” her boyfriend’s Eras Tour debut.

Keep scrolling for a breakdown of every surprise song Swift performed at her Eras Tour shows in Dublin:

‘State of Grace’ x ‘You’re on Your Own Kid’/’Sweet Nothing’ x ‘Hoax’

Swift began the surprise song section of the June 28 concert with Red’s “State of Grace” before eventually transitioning into the bridge of her fan-favorite Midnights song, “You’re on Your Own Kid.” She then made her way over to her piano, where she performed another Midnights track, “Sweet Nothing,” as the song references Wicklow, a country in Ireland. She mashed the song up with Folklore’s “Hoax.”

Travis Kelce's Mom Donna Shares Video of Him Carrying Taylor Swift Onstage at Eras Tour Show

Donna kelce proved travis kelce's debut on the eras tour stage alongside taylor swift was as exciting for her as it was for swifties everywhere..

Donna Kelce is as enchanted with  Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift 's love story as everyone else.

So when her son had his debut on the Eras Tour Stage at Wembley Stadium June 23, the 71-year-old was among those who couldn't help but gush over the epic moment.

Donna's excitement came in the form of a video she reshared to her Facebook page . The video—originally posted by a fan account titled Swfitiesforeternity—showed off the moment Travis picked up Taylor after she pretended to faint during her performance of "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart" and was captioned, "TRAVIS KELCE IS ON STAGE SOS."

And it was clear from the comments on Donna's post how much Travis' performance, as well as her support, meant to fans. "Oh my heart," one user commented. "Mama Kelce i hope yall know how much us Swifites love your son!!"

Another made sure to call out the other Kelces present at the show— Jason Kelce , who were seen exchanging friendship bracelets with fans from the VIP tent alongside his wife Kylie —writing, "Donna- your boys are 2in 2 million!!"

In fact, it was an especially star-studded weekend for Taylor and the Eras Tour.

Not only did Travis attend every show, bringing along Kylie and his brother for their first Eras Tour experience, but they were also joined in their VIP tent June 21 by Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis , Greta Gerwig and even Tom Cruise , as seen in footage posted by fans to social media .

And if that weren't enough, the first show at Wembley was a royally special affair: Prince William   attended with his children  Prince George , 10, and  Princess Charlotte , 9, with the royal even showing off his dance moves during "Shake It Off. "

The show also happened to fall on William's 42nd birthday, prompting Taylor to wish him a happy birthday on social media—with a little help from her guy on the Chiefs .

"Happy Bday M8!" the Grammy winner captioned a post following the show, featuring a selfie with her, Travis, William and his children. "London shows are off to a splendid start."
