Celebrity Room Service Menu, Review, and Food Pics 2023

by Prof. Cruise · March 22, 2023

A photo of the cover of the Celebrity room service menu with text that reads: Celebrity room service menu, review, and food pics 2023.

I was in blissful denial about the room service fee on Celebrity, new for 2023, until my recent cruise onboard the Solstice. Then I saw it on the menu, but still couldn’t believe it. Then I saw it on my shipboard account and was like, “no this can’t be right, not on Celebrity !” So I visited Guest Services, needlessly wasting everyone’s time and was told that yes, there is now a fee for most room service orders. And then I saw it on my credit card bill and finally accepted that the days of free hot room service on Celebrity are over and likely never coming back. Sigh. But I’m happy to report that some room service is still free. Here’s the 411 on Celebrity room service:

Room Service Charges on Celebrity

Continental breakfast items: Complimentary from 6am-9:30am. Hot breakfast items: $9.95 service fee + 18% gratuity per delivery (unlimited items per delivery). Lunch/dinner/late night: $9.95 service fee + 18% gratuity per delivery (unlimited items per delivery). Coffee/Juice/Milk/Non-Dairy Milk: Complimentary at breakfast. Wine/Champagne/Beer: Priced a la carte + 20% service fee.

Zenith-level Captain’s Club members, suite guests, and passengers staying in the retreat will still be able to get room service delivered for free.

Celebrity Breakfast Room Service Menu

Celebrity’s room service breakfast card must be hung on your cabin door by 2am for delivery between 6-9:30am the next morning. Indicate your preferred 30 minute delivery window on the card. You can use the room service card to order both complementary continental items or hot items or a combination of both. If you order any hot items from the right side of the menu, you will incur the $9.95 + 18% gratuity charge. I always tip a few extra dollars to the crew member who delivers my order (especially if I only ordered complimentary items), but it isn’t required.

Celebrity Room Service Review

While the desserts were delicious, I didn’t find the other items as good as what you’d get at the buffet, dining room, spa cafe, burger joint, or other dining venues onboard. Note also that this is the exact same room service menu that used to be complimentary (I mean, at least jazz it up a bit if you’re going to start charging). So, is it worth the $9.95 service fee? Under certain emergency circumstances it might be. Like to nurse a hangover from bed, if your toddler is napping and you can’t leave the cabin for lunch, or if the buffet is closed and you get a late-night chocolate cake craving (I speak from experience on that one…shrug).

Thankfully it’s still free (and worthwhile) to order complimentary coffee and a pastry for the balcony as a pre-breakfast. In most other cases though, now that there’s a charge, I’d skip room service. Instead, save the 10 bucks for airport snacks on your trip home and walk yourself to one of the delicious complimentary dining options onboard.

And with that…

Class Dismissed.

Homework (10 points): What are your thoughts and experiences ordering room service on Celebrity? Do you find it worth the $9.95 charge? Share to the comments.

Lately, your photos within your emails (to my iPhone) appear only as question marks in a non-clickable box. Hope you can find a fix for that, as your photos are (were) so great. 👍 PS: Love your blog!

Oh no! Thanks for letting me know. I’ll investigate!

[…] This sailing on the Solstice marked my “return to Celebrity” following Covid and I noticed quite a few cuts and changes since the glorious days of conspicuous consumption: plates piled 10 high with lobster shells in the MDR and complimentary chocolate cake delivered right to your bed! There are few better places to be when hunger strikes than on a cruise ship. If the buffet is busy with people or packed away, 24-hour room service is always available to fill your belly. It's one of the greatest cruising amenities that's uniformly offered on all major cruise lines. No need to dress up for dinner — just order food, flip on your cabin TV and wait for your meal to arrive.

Wondering what you can order and how much it will cost you? Here's a line-by-line overview of room service options and pricing across the major cruise lines, along with in-cabin dining menus.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

How do I order room service on a cruise ship?

Just pick up your in-cabin phone and dial the room service number to order food. Easy!

Some cruise lines offer the option to order your food and drinks through your in-cabin TV or a smartphone app, which populates photos of the menu items. Some cruise line apps even have location-specific features that allow you to order food and drinks for delivery almost anywhere on the ship.

Breakfast is often ordered by filling out a pre-printed menu card left in your cabin and hanging it outside your door before you go to bed. Crew members collect the orders during the night and deliver your food the next morning at the time you specified.

What types of food can I order to my cabin?

Many cruise lines offer a complimentary continental breakfast delivery, which typically includes pastries, bread, fruit, yogurt and coffee and tea. You can order hot breakfast items like eggs, pancakes and bacon, but they cost extra on select lines or in specific cabin categories.

After breakfast service ends in the late morning, all major cruise lines offer an all-day room service menu of salads, sandwiches, snacks and desserts. Most cruise lines have special in-room dining menus separate from what you'd find that day on the buffet or in the main dining room.

However, some of the more upscale lines and some select concierge cabin classes offer comprehensive in-suite dining menus, often with the convenience of ordering off the menu from the main dining room or specialty restaurants on board. This elevated in-room dining experience might include a white tablecloth setup and your meal delivered course by course to your cabin or suite.

You can access additional specialty food experiences from room service operations. These include fresh pizza delivery as seen on Carnival Cruise Line and MSC Cruises, a cutting-edge app feature for Champagne delivery on Virgin Voyages and lobster and caviar deliveries from luxury cruise lines such as Silversea Cruises.

Is room service free on a cruise ship?

celebrity cruise concierge room service menu

While most land-based hotels charge a premium for any food delivered to your room, cruise ships have a long legacy of including room service in their fares. Many cruisers' favorite amenity is the 24-hour complimentary access to generic yet classic menu items such as fresh fruit, a cheese plate or a club sandwich, not to mention continental breakfast.

Recent changes in the economics of cruising have sunset the glory days of unlimited, complimentary room service on several of the most popular cruise lines. Service fees and menus dominated by a la carte options are now the new norms across the industry.

Still, the fees are often considerably less than at comparable land-based resorts, and continental breakfast items are commonly free of charge (with the exception of MSC's lowest cabin class, which charges a per-item and service fee for breakfast service).

How much does room service cost?

Depending on the cruise line and your cabin class, room service can be a complimentary all-inclusive service, billed per item or charged at a flat delivery fee. Most lines will offer complimentary continental breakfast options through room service with no service fee, even if other options cost extra.

Luxury lines, including Seabourn, Silversea and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, always include 24-hour room service as a standard amenity.

Delivery service fees per order can reach up to $9.95, the per-order rate currently on Norwegian Cruise Line's non-suite class cabins. A la carte prices average around $5 per item, whether that's a hot breakfast or a midday sandwich.

For example, on Carnival's new a la carte room service menu, salads cost $4 to $5 (with additional fees for adding proteins), sandwiches $5 to $7, snacks like pizza and chicken tenders $6 to $8 and dessert $3 to $5.

Do you have to tip for room service on a cruise?

On no-tipping lines, such as Seabourn and Silversea, crew members are compensated appropriately, and you do not need to tip for room service. On lines where guests are expected to tip crew members, determine first if a gratuity is automatically included in your room service order or delivery fee. If it's not, a small tip is always appreciated.

Depending on what you order and the line, you might not have the chance to sign a bill for your room service order, which could be a missed opportunity to add a tip. Come prepared with small bills to offer in appreciation of the service, as you'll find the room service staff works hard to expedite many meals around the ship.

Each room service order incurs a $7 delivery fee, though you can order as much food as you like. Certain items (such as specialty coffee, alcoholic beverages and fresh orange juice) carry an additional a la carte fee. However, your delivery fee is waived if you order an extra-fee item. The fee is also waived for all RockStar Quarters suites.

An Overview of Celebrity Cruises Concierge Class Benefits

Posted on Published: 12/05/2023

If you are looking for an elevated experience with some special perks on your next Celebrity Cruise, concierge class may be a great option. It doesn’t cost too much extra, and includes some fun bonuses and perks that may be worth the extra expense.

If you are considering this class of service on your cruise, read more about Celebrity Cruises concierge class benefits as well as our experience with this class on our latest sailing.

Disclosure: We paid full price for our cruise. This post contains affiliate links and a purchase/click through one of these links may result in a commission paid to us. All opinions are my own.

Celebrity Cruises already provides fantastic service to all guests. But, when you book your stateroom, you’ll see the option to book concierge class. This higher service level does come with a higher price. However, it’s important to know that concierge class isn’t the highest level (unlike some other cruise lines were concierge is the highest level).

Other options include:

  • The Retreat: A full luxury experience with exclusive dining options, sun decks, and much more.
  • AquaClass: Comes with spa Persian Garden access, a spa concierge, and more.

On my first time on the Celebrity Cruise line, I decided to book a Concierge Class stateroom. I was eager to experience this new-to-me cruise line and wanted to get the additional benefits from booking Concierge.

What is Celebrity Cruises Concierge Class?

Concierge class on Celebrity is a premium level of both service and accommodation. Specific rooms are designed as Concierge rooms, and you’ll need to book one of these when you reserve your cruise.

When you purchase your cruise, you’ll see a variety of options that are available, and concierge class will be one of these choices. Within the category, some subcategories further differentiate the type of room you’ll have but won’t change the service you’ll experience.

These options may include concierge rooms, prime concierge rooms, and sunset concierge rooms. The prime rooms are in a better location and sunset rooms are at the aft of the ship. During our sailing, we booked a regular concierge room, and had a verandah stateroom with a slightly smaller verandah with an obstructed view.

As a concierge class guest you do get some perks, but keep in mind that the best perks are reserved for those in the Retreat.

Canapes - mini pita bread, pesto sauce, tomatoes with feta, and bread

Key Benefits of Celebrity Cruises Concierge Class

Concierge rooms.

Concierge rooms are a step above the traditional stateroom. These rooms have floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors, as well as a verandah.

You’ll also feel a little pampered with 100% cotton bathrobes, slippers, and towels, as well as Co Bigelow toiletries in the shower (including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion). Rooms contain a golf umbrella and a small pair of binoculars for your use on the ship.

While the website states that guests will receive a Celebrity keychain in their concierge room, we didn’t. Instead, we had a gray Celebrity card case, which is perfect for holding IDs and credit cards. Complimentary shoe shine is also offered to concierge guests as one of the extra benefits.

The rooms also offer a pillow menu if you’d like to upgrade from the standard pillows in the stateroom. The menu includes several options, including a body pillow, a Swedish Isotonic pillow, and a hypoallergenic pillow. We didn’t try any of those options, however, because the pillows in the stateroom were very comfortable.

Solarium with a glass roof, statue, pool chairs, and water falling from a spigot.

Concierge Service

When we arrived in our Concierge stateroom, we had a note from our concierge team. They are available for any assistance you may need during your sailing, including booking reservations for restaurants and scheduling excursions. We never interacted with our team, because we were easily able to book everything we needed, but it was nice to know that it was available to us.

Concierge Perks

So, what are the additional perks available to Concierge guests? Here are some of the benefits you’ll experience:

Embarkation Lunch in the dining room: This was my favorite of the perks, and it made the concierge class worth it for us. The exclusive lunch on embarkation day is offered in the main dining room and is a nice relaxing environment rather than the chaos of the buffet.

The food was delicious as well and included items like braised short ribs and apple pie. We enjoyed the opportunity to sit and look through our schedule as we planned out our 4-night cruise.

Sparkling Wine in the stateroom: As a concierge class guest, you’ll have a bottle of sparkling wine delivered to your room. We had the classic drink package, and never even ended up drinking this wine. If we weren’t flying home right away, we would have taken it with us.

Afternoon Canapes (officially called “daily delectable delights” delivered to the stateroom: Every afternoon, we had a small plate of canapes delivered directly to our stateroom. Again, we really didn’t feel like we needed these, because there was so much delicious food readily available on the ship.

Captains Club Points: Concierge class guests receive 5 Captains Club points per night of their cruise. These extra points can be useful if you are getting close to the next level.

Disembarkation Lounge: On our sailing, Concierge guests were invited to wait in the Tuscan Grille restaurant for their disembarkation time. We didn’t take advantage of that because we left the ship right after breakfast and didn’t have to wait at all.

Is Concierge Class on Celebrity Worth It?

The big question is whether the Concierge class is worth the extra money. We purchased it for our recent Celebrity Summit cruise, and while we didn’t take advantage of all of the benefits, we still found it worthwhile.

For us, the major benefit was that private embarkation lunch. It was a real treat and a great (relaxing) way to start our cruise. To take advantage of this, you’ll want to have a port arrival time before or around lunchtime.

We all enjoyed the benefits of the concierge class staterooms, including the toiletries and the robes. If it had rained, we definitely would have liked having the umbrellas as well.

If you are considering this upgrade, it’s a good idea to look through the benefits to decide which you will use. Even a few of these can make the extra cost worthwhile.

Concierge "Enhanced Room Service Breakfast Menu"?

By In Toronto , March 1, 2023 in Celebrity Cruises

Recommended Posts

Cool Cruiser

In Concierge on B2B Solstice cruises in April.  Second time in Concierge.  This time noticed one of the benefits is "Enhanced Room Service Breakfast Menu".

What is special about menu?  We seldom eat breakfast in the room but do not remember being offered anything special last time.

I believe the "Enhanced Room Service Menu" was done away with in Early January.   Currently except for Suites there is a $9.95 Service fee per room for Premium Breakfast items.    Complimentary Continental Breakfast items are still included in your room rate.

Thanks.  They really need to take it off their website - Ha Ha.

Anything else that was changed re benefits such as embarkation lunch (I hope not!), Poor quality wine, Tote Bag.  I notice it says veranda with lounge seating.  Do not remember that from last concierge class on Celebrity.

Wow! I never realized this change for concierge class. It was one perk we used every day.  Less reasons to continue booking concierge class. I guess I’ll have to wait and see how bad it is on my upcoming cruise on March 19.

CruisingDaddy:

Please report back after your cruise.   We booked concierge because it was only $20.00 per person more than veranda so worth it.  But, would not pay much extra for sure.

Hope to hear from you in end of March.  Ours is mid April.

We booked a concierge as we moved up from a verandah cabin for only $50 more. We sail in 7 days, I will keep you informed. I was actually curious as well, because it looks as though the breakfast menu was slightly expanded for everyone, now that there is a $9.95 charge. I'd actually love some foot rests on the balcony, if they were looking to add in some perks  🤣 , not worth the extra for aqua class (for us).

They did remove that item from the stateroom class description page

But it does appear that they still have it listed when you go to compare stateroom types when making an actual booking.

It's a shame they don't have the right person doing these updates to their webpage to mitigate confusion it causes having conflicting info.  The same thing happened with the classic beverage package when there was a belief that it changed to include all non-alcoholic beverages.

Yes, there should not be confusion.  My question about enhanced room service breakfast menu is not that important in comparison to what the classic beverage package includes.  We do not have the inclusive plan this time hence the question re the wine which even if low quality, it is a nice bonus for us.  Any other concierge cruisers on my trip can pass on their wine to us if they do not want it.  LOL.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, xxpinksaltxx, please do get back and let us know.  I would be interested in Embarkation Lunch,  Pillow Selection, Binoculars and Umbrella.  Even if you are not interested in those perks yourself, would you mind just asking if they are available to Concierge Class?

Enjoy your cruise.

BTW: love your CC name.   Tell us the story behind it please.

Take your own binoculars!

The frustrating part of this change is it happened after final payment. This was one of the reasons we went with Concierge class and it's gone now. You would think they would know who booked when and phase these changes out to new bookings or bookings that aren't paid in full.

Norwaylady

We are very upset and not happy about this. We book concierge because the breakfast meny for delivery is wider.  This change affects all future bookings that was made a long time before this change.  We really enjoy having breakfast on our balcony 😔

There is no reason to book concierge. We are always later than embarkation lunch onboard. So the BIG number one reason was breakfast menu.  Hopefully they will change their mind to the better…. 🧐

Agree... we made final payment before they changed room service.  We have it every day for breakfast so for us it was an important benefit.  I convinced my wife to try Celebrity with the lure of a hot breakfast delivered to her cabin. lol    Now its another $25 a day... not the end of the world but for 10 days it adds up.  More importantly it's what I bought.

We just got off the Infinity last Saturday. The in-room Breakfast is the same whether you're in Concierge, Aqua, or an inside room. The only upgrade is in a Suite. The charge is $9.95 plus $1.79 gratuities = $11.74. Suite passengers do not pay the fee. You can also have the MDR menu items delivered to your room for the $11.74 charge.

I thought the main dining room menu selection was eliminated for room service. Have they dialed that back?

Yes - really curious to hear that - is it all meals or just dinner? Was always a nice option before.

Like many posting here, the enhanced breakfast was one of the biggest reasons we booked Concierge for our upcoming cruise. Sigh.

2boxers

I booked concierge and didn't even realize, just wanted a certain stateroom. We like coffee and pastry delivered as a breakfast appetizer then go to breakfast or bring it back to our room to enjoy on the balcony.  Little effort, same results.

Continental breakfast from Room Service does not have a delivery charge.  You can still get your coffee and pastry delivered at breakfast, just like before.

The Complete Guide to Dining Options on Celebrity Cruises

Last updated: May 2nd, 2024

  • Find a Cruise

Winner of the 2019 Best Overall Food Experience for the 5th consecutive year from the CRUIZIE Awards and the 2019 Award of Excellence by the Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Awards, Celebrity Cruises is committed to pushing the envelope of what a fine dining looks (and tastes!) like.

In this comprehensive guide to Celebrity Cruises dining options, we’ll dive into the logistics, like what kind of dining package is right for you, what to wear, and the endless possibilities for globally-inspired eats available at the dozens of restaurants and cafes on our ships.

Innovative and creatively presented but never pretentious, exclusive culinary cruises and myriad onboard experiences will take you behind the scenes, in the galley, and teach you new tricks of the trade.

Are meals included on Celebrity Cruises?

Elegant interior of Oceanview Cafe on Celebrity with huge glass windows

Yes! Celebrity Cruises dining options include several complimentary venues.

Head to the buffet-style Oceanview Cafe or eat comfort foods by the pool at Mast Grill for lunch.

On Edge Series ships, you can dine in style at any of the four complimentary restaurants.

Enjoy elevated classics at the Main Restaurant, new American cuisine at Cosmopolitan (on Celebrity Edge and Apex), flavors of the Mediterranean at Cyprus, or modern French cuisine at Normandie.

Our cuisine is inspired from the destinations we visit and is hand-crafted from the highest quality ingredients.

How does dining work on Celebrity Cruises?

People eating at Luminae on Celebrity

Celebrity Cruises dining options were created to accommodate different preferences and approaches to vacation and traveling. Some like consistency in their day-to-day routine, even on vacation, while other travelers prefer new places to explore, new venues to try, and new faces to meet.

You’ll have three choices of dining based on your preferences:

  • Celebrity Select Dining Early, Late, and Anytime

Celebrity Select Dining Early, Late

Woman raising her glass for a toast

With Celebrity Select Dining Early, Late, you’ll have a designated time each evening for dinner, starting as early as 6pm or as late as 8:30pm. With Celebrity Select Dining Early, Late, you’ll be seated with the same people and get the same waitstaff each night.

You’ll get to know your tablemates and the crew. It’s perfect for making new friends with similar interests and swapping travel stories over dinner.

Celebrity Select Dining Anytime

Couple ordering wine at Tuscan Grille on Celebrity

Celebrity Select Dining Anytime, on the other hand, is ideal for travelers who want a little more flexibility in their evening schedules. You may want to stay at the pool for longer, lounge at the adults-only* Solarium, or unwind in your stateroom after a full day in port before going out for dinner. With Celebrity Select Dining Anytime, you can choose your dining time anytime between 6pm and 9:30pm.

Celebrity Select Early, Late, and Anytime all feature the same mouthwatering menus, and there’s no cost difference; ultimately, the choice depends on how you like to travel.

Note that only a certain number of guests can choose Celebrity Select Dining Anytime per sailing. Typically, Anytime is available on a first-come, first-served basis, particularly for passengers who book their cruise early.

*Solarium kid’s hours available from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on select itineraries – Antarctica, Alaska, and the Baltics.

Is Celebrity Select Dining offered on all ships?

Elegant interior of Normandie

Celebrity Select Dining is available on all Millennium, Solstice, and Edge series ships. Celebrity Select Dining on our Edge-series ships gives you the options to choose your dining time and designate which of the four Main Restaurants you want to visit.

Celebrity Select Dining on Edge Series

Celebrity Edge® Series offers not one but four complimentary main restaurants—Normandie, Tuscan, Cosmopolitan, and Cyprus. Every restaurant features the same mouthwatering menu that changes nightly, plus each one offers its own ambience, along with a selection of exclusive, regionally inspired dishes and drinks.

We may have reinvented the main restaurant experience, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining in our main restaurants. You can choose Celebrity Select Early or Late seating for your dining times, which allows you to enjoy dinner at the same table with the same waiter every evening. You’ll be assigned one of the four main dining restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request.

On Celebrity Edge Series, we offer Celebrity Select Dining Anytime. Select your dining time in any of the four restaurants and enjoy a change of scenery. There’s nothing traditional about Celebrity. And with Celebrity Select Dining, the choice of how you plan your evening meals is up to you.

What is the dress code for dinner on Celebrity Cruises?

Couple being served wine at Tuscan on Celebrity

We’ve left behind formal wear for a more modern take on dressing up. No need to pack your suit and tie or ball gown. However, if you truly want to dress to the nines, we love seeing creative, stylish outfits onboard.

In general, the dinner dress code on your Celebrity cruise is Evening Chic. When you’re planning what to wear on your cruise , pack what you’d wear back home to a nice dinner or special occasion.

Each evening, you’ll receive a bulletin with the next day’s activities, exciting facts about the destinations you’re visiting, and the dress code for the day. If you have any doubts about your outfit, take a look in your cruise bulletin to make sure you’re dressed appropriately.

Evening Chic

People dining at Luminae on Celebrity

Evening Chic for ladies ranges from a cocktail dress with heels to a nice blouse with elegant jeans and wedges. Pair a skirt and blazer with strappy shoes. Express yourself. Wear whatever feels elegant and elevated to you.

For men, a dress shirt with pants or designer jeans is a go-to for evening chic. Button-down shirts are also perfect men’s attire for dining during your cruise. A sports coat or blazer is optional.

People hanging out at Martini Bar on Celebrity

Smart Casual

When packing what to wear to grab a drink at Martini Bar, see a show at the Theatre, or dine in a specialty restaurant, Smart Casual is the way to go.

For women, this could mean a casual top paired with pants, a skirt, or nice jeans. For men, we recommend pants or nice jeans with a casual top (not a t-shirt).

Style Don’ts

T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurants. Leave your flip flops and shorts in your stateroom.

What are Celebrity’s main dining room options?

Choose from not one but four main restaurants during your cruise vacation with Celebrity. Each restaurant is stylishly designed and made with the freshest ingredients, celebrating culinary styles around the world.

Main Restaurant

Fine dining awaits from the moment you step on board. You’ll discover new favorites, elevated classics, and creative takes on the expected, such as vegetable paella inspired by Barcelona nights, roasted quail from California, or smoked Atlantic salmon.

Interior of Cyprus restaurant on Celebrity

Come along with us to Greece at Cyprus, where fresh seafood and a light, Mediterranean menu will delight your palate. Start with menu items exclusive to Cyprus, from mouthwatering sea bass ceviche to lemon-dill chicken souvlaki.

Interior of Normandie restaurant on Celebrity

Travel to an elegant eatery where full-bodied wines pair perfectly with French starters like chicken pate, baked brie, and potato and gruyere tarts. Entrees exclusive to Normandie include dishes like cassoulet of confit duck and salmon roasted with wild lavender. Our chefs fuse refined flavors with unexpected profiles and beautiful plating in an upscale atmosphere.

Cosmopolitan

Interior of Cosmopolitan restaurant on Celebrity

Available on Apex and Edge, Cosmopolitan is our take on new American, from New York strip steak and a classic shrimp cocktail starter to home-style pork chops with string beans and sweet potato.

What specialty restaurants are available on Celebrity Cruises?

There’s no reason why you can’t have every type of cuisine your heart desires while you’re on vacation. That’s why Celebrity Cruises dining options include specialty restaurants that cater to your every craving, like traditional filets and ribeyes at Fine Cut Steakhouse to sushi at Raw on Five. Enjoy backyard BBQ, grilled favorites, and smoked classics al fresco at Rooftop Garden Grill.

Interior of Luminae restaurant on Celebrity

Cutting-edge Luminae is reserved for guests of the Retreat . The menu at Luminae is exclusive, meaning you won’t find these dishes anywhere else on board. Sample menu items include Alaskan halibut, Maine lobster tagliatelle, truffle risotto, and creamy burrata with pesto.

Interior of Blu restaurant on Celebrity

Exclusively for AquaClass guests, Blu features a spa-inspired menu that emphasizes a holistic health experience. In the morning, stop in for farm-fresh eggs, muesli, or a fresh-pressed juice. Blu is open for breakfast and dinner each day, with a daily changing dinner menu.

Le Grand Bistro

Interior of Le Grand Bistro restaurant on Celebrity

Le Grand Bistro is styled after a Parisian patisserie, and it’s the perfect place for afternoon tea, warm pastries and croissants, or a ham-and-cheese baguette. Gourmet charcuterie and cheese boards with carafes of wine transition the bistro from the bustle of morning to a relaxed, candlelit evening.

Interior of Murano restaurant on Celebrity

At Murano, you’ll also find our take on classic French fare from veal tenderloin to herb-crusted lamb. Try the Five Senses Menu, which presents six courses and wine pairings designed to stimulate all your senses.

Tuscan Grille

Interior of Tuscan Grille restaurant on Celebrity

Tuscan Grille has all the charm and sophistication of an Italian trattoria, featuring a menu of handmade pastas, artisanal meats, and fine wine. Rustic and approachable, take your pick of flatbread pizzas, gnocchi, carbonara, frutti de mare, and quality butcher cuts.

Le Petit Chef at Qsine / Le Petit Chef and Friends

Celebrity Cruises Dining Options Le Petit Chef

Le Petit Chef is one of the most unique dining experiences ever created, where 3-D characters come to life at your table and “prepare” your food before your very eyes. Interactive and immersive, Le Petit Chef is sure to entertain everyone.

Interior of Raw on 5 restaurant on Celebrity

Other onboard restaurants draw inspiration from the sea. Sushi lovers can enjoy handmade rolls, ahi tuna, and the freshest sashimi at Raw on Five. If you’re craving a lobster roll or a raw bar of oysters, there’s The Porch, which is inspired by the relaxed seaside towns of the Northeast.

Ready to book your cruise and select your Celebrity Cruises dining options? There are even more specialty restaurants onboard for you to fall in love with, like the open-air Magic Carpet Restaurant, nature-inspired eats at Eden, and more. Whether you choose Celebrity Select Early, Late, and Anytime or Celebrity Select dining, you’ll find plenty of mouthwatering options available during your luxury cruise vacation.

Concierge Class In-Room Breakfast Menu

By DisneyTech , May 17, 2020 in Celebrity Cruises

Cool Cruiser

Hi Everyone,

We have a couple of cruises booked in Concierge Class cabins and I was hoping someone could answer a question for us.

I've seem some older posts that mention an expanded in-room breakfast menu (the one you can hang on the door the night before to get it delivered) that includes hot items like omelets, bacon, sausage, smoothies, etc...

Does anyone know if that is still offered in Concierge rooms? I don't see any mention of it anywhere from Celebrity and I can't find anything recent that indicates one way or the other. Hopefully someone with some recent experience can fill us in!

I believe I did recently see some mention of the Concierge expanded breakfast menu.  We had it on our cruise June 2919.

Didn’t get it at first...good one.

Standard hot breakfast is available in all staterooms via room service.  Eggs, meats, pancakes etc all there on the card you hang on your door.

Hint:  If you would like something that is readily available in the kitchen but don't see it on the card, just write in a request and you will usually get it.  We always say "please and thank you".

C class has a few added items like smoothies.  Been in C class many times, and never had anything that wasn't available to all!  The "expanded menu" in C class is not really that much better IMHO.

No worries....Simple to get a full hot breakfast delivered to your stateroom.  You select a 1/2 hour time slot and you receive a call that your breakfast is "on its way".  It arrives in about 2 minutes.

That's awesome news. Thanks Everyone!

We are doing the 14-day Ireland and Iceland in 2020. Since we will likely want to spend every minute that we can ashore, it will be great to have breakfast dropped off each morning while we are getting ready.

Celebrity Cruises Classes Explained: AquaClass vs The Retreat vs Concierge

' src=

Once you’ve decided to go on a Celebrity Cruise, you’re faced with deciding what type of class you want to book, if any. You can book a regular stateroom or choose to book one of Celebrity Cruises’ higher-level classes, including AquaClass, The Retreat, Concierge, or an Aqua SkySuite.

But what perks do they come with? And are they worth the investment? We will compare and contrast the classes in this vs that points along with a helpful table comparing all the info at the end of the post.

Ranking Celebrity Cruises Three Class Options

Wondering which class has the least perks and which has the most? Here’s the order from least to most:

  • The Retreat

All three options are available on all Celebrity Cruise ships, even though the look and feel of The Retreat Sundeck may vary from ship to ship, and the spas vary as well, depending on the ship series. (Celebrity currently has three ship classes: Edge, Solstice, and Millenium.)

For example, we were on Celebrity Apex and enjoyed a yellow color as an accent in The Retreat. We noticed the accent color is red on Celebrity Beyond .

Important Distinction: What is an Aqua Sky Suite with Celebrity Cruises?

There are three upgraded class options with Celebrity Cruises that we mentioned above. However, there’s an additional “fourth” class you can book that gets you the perks of AquaClass while also allowing you to be a guest of The Retreat.

Being in an Aqua SkySuite will reward you with this dual-perk situation.

You’ll be able to enjoy dining at Luminae and Blu (The Retreat’s private restaurant and AquaClass’s private dining), have workout gear in your room, and special spa access.

Guests of one or the other (The Retreat or AquaClass, not both) only enjoy some of these benefits. Guests in Aqua SkySuites enjoy the best of both worlds and enjoy all of the perks of both class types.

In summation, if you want to enjoy two classes during your Celebrity Cruises vacation – AquaClass and The Retreat – book an “Aqua SkySuite.”

AquaClass vs. The Retreat vs. Concierge: Suite Perks and Amenities

How many different suite/cabin options are in each class .

The Retreat has a whopping 10 different options of suites. On the other hand, AquaClass and Concierge simply have one option. That makes booking a suite in AquaClass and Concierge simple!

A Concierge suite is essentially the same type of cabin as an infinite veranda it's just called Concierge when you upgrade to the class to get the perks. The suite looks the same you just have added benefits.

All AquaClass suites are the same suite (just one option) and all Concierge suites are the same.

celebrity cruise concierge room service menu

The Retreat Suites

Here are some of the suites you can book that are part of The Retreat (in order from least square footage to the most):

  • Sky Suite: this is an entry-level suite and the most affordable way to be in The Retreat (319 sq. ft.)
  • Aqua Sky Suite (319 sq. ft.) – same square footage as the Sky Suite, just different perks
  • Celebrity Suite (401 sq. ft.)
  • Royal Suite (687 sq. ft.)
  • Edge Villa (739 sq. ft.)
  • Penthouse (1,378 sq. ft.)
  • Iconic Suite (1,892 sq. ft.)

Celebrity, Royal, Edge, Penthouse, and Iconic are considered upper suites of the suites listed above.

Priority Location of Suites

All three classes enjoy desirable locations of suites on the ship. (You’re on a Celebrity Cruise – is there a bad stateroom location? We think not!)

You will never get an inside stateroom with any of these upgraded classes. You can even request a specific room upon booking, based on availability.

Premium Bedding

All three classes, Aquaclass, The Retreat, and Concierge, have upgraded premium bedding.

Pillow Menu

Yes, you read that correctly! When you sail with Celebrity Cruises in a Concierge, AquaClass, or The Retreat suite, you get a pillow menu to order your preferred pillow type!

In-Room Workout Gear

Many people who sign up to be included in AquaClass are fitness-focused. As such, Celebrity accommodates their fitness-forward lifestyle by providing a menu of workout gear that they can have in their room.

This was delivered to our stateroom on our first day aboard the ship. You can choose from various things like a kettlebell, yoga mat, yoga block, strengthening equipment, and a meditation pack.

Guests of AquaClass and Aqua Sky Suites can take advantage of this perk.

celebrity cruise concierge room service menu

Beach Towels

All three classes take beach towels provided in the suite to offshore excursions for use during the cruise.

They are delivered to your suite in a lovely Nate Burkus tote bag; the bag is yours to keep after the cruise.

In-room binoculars are provided for all three classes: The Retreat, Concierge, and AquaClass.

You don’t need them while you’re at sea in a place like the Caribbean, but they are useful during sea days on an Alaskan cruise. Additionally, they're helpful during select excursions; just don’t forget to return them to your suite closest (where they're stored) when you’re done!

Personally, we always bring our binoculars because there's never been a time when the cruise line-provided binoculars have been as solid or as high-quality as our own.

Daily Canapés

All three classes enjoy canapés delivered to their suite throughout the cruise. It’s a nice little in-room snack if you’re hungry. If you find they're not being delivered, simply request them.

Suite Water Service

With AquaClass and Concierge, only, you will receive a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival.

That said, we also saw bottles of water that guests could take to go in the disembarkation area when leaving the ship for excursions or to explore a port. (We appreciated that the bottles were aluminum, in line with Celebrity’s commitment to sustainability .)

Additionally, AquaClass and Aqua Sky Suite guests have daily bottled water service in the room.

Suite Welcome Gifts/Drinks

If you are a guest of AquaClass or Concierge, you can receive sparkling wine and fruit when you arrive to your suite upon request.

We had this in our room and couldn’t wait to toast to a great cruise, which we promptly did after getting situated.

Don't Delay Your Celebrity Cruises Vacation!

Celebrity Cruises is one of our favorite cruise lines, thanks to the sophistication and beauty of the ships and staterooms, friendly crew, shopping, entertainment, and delicious food + drinks.

AquaClass vs. The Retreat vs. Concierge: Relaxation Areas on the Ship

Dedicated pool .

There is a special top-deck lounge and pool area for guests of The Retreat, called The Retreat Sundeck. While the environment of the Sundeck has an adults-only vibe, The Retreat pool and Sundeck areas are not adults-only. It's open to all ages as long as the guest is part of The Retreat.

It was very nice to enjoy this area on Celebrity Apex. It’s much more intimate than the “public” pool areas. Retreat guests access the area with their key cards, which opens the Sundeck door. Here, guests find various lounge chairs and couches, a small pool area, and a dedicated bar.

There was also poolside food available to order for a few hours for lunch and assorted treats served by surprise other times. For example, we were offered ice cream cups one afternoon, while another afternoon, we were served colorful, refreshing fruit skewers.

AquaClass and Concierge guests do not have a dedicated Sundeck.

We also want to note that The Retreat Sundeck is a perk on Edge-class ships and Revolutionized ships. It’s unavailable on the following Celebrity Cruises ships: Solstice, Eclipse, Reflection, Infinity, and Constellation.

celebrity cruise concierge room service menu

Special Spa Access

AquaClass and Aqua Sky Suites guests enjoy passes to the SEA Thermal Spa on Edge class ships for the duration of their cruise. This includes a steam room, sauna, Crystallarium, salt room, float room, and more. AquaClass guests have complimentary access to the Persian Garden/Spa on non-Edge ships.

Spa Concierge helps take care of any spa requests AquaClass guests have.

Concierge guests and Retreat guests do not have special spa access. An additional fee applies for all non-AquaClass guests.

Anyone on the ship can book a spa appointment; we recommend doing so before your cruise to secure a preferred appointment spot.

celebrity cruise concierge room service menu

AquaClass vs. The Retreat vs. Concierge: Drinks/Beverages and Restaurants (Beyond your Suite)

Exclusive restaurants.

Two classes of the three get you access to exclusive restaurants with Celebrity Cruises. The Retreat has Luminae for its guests, while AquaClass guests get access to Blu.

Luminae is focused on elevated food, flavors from around the globe, and a superior dining experience. Blu is focused on some healthier dining options and sustainability. (Even though we want to reiterate that Celebrity Cruises, as a whole, keeps sustainability at the forefront of its brand, ship-wide.)

Though it’s not particularly a “restaurant,” The Retreat Sundeck has food available for lunch.

We compare Luminae and Blu here .

You do not have to dine at these restaurants if you're in AquaClass or The Retreat; it's simply only an option if you are a part of these Celebrity Cruises suite classes. In other words, guests who are not a part of either class cannot dine in these restaurants. Only guests who are have that option.

Blue glass and striking colors of Blu restaurant for AquaClass guests on Celebrity cruise ships.

Exclusive Lounge Area

The Retreat Lounge is special for Retreat guests. On non-revolutionized Celebrity ships, it’s called “Michael’s Club.” AquaClass and Concierge guests have no such lounge.

The Retreat Lounge is a beautiful area to have continental breakfast if you want another option besides the ship’s many restaurants and dedicated Luminae restaurant.

The lounge is open all day for beverages, from coffee drinks to tea and cocktails. They also have self-serve mini-fridges where you can grab a drink like sparkling or still water.

White couches in a The Retreat Lounge on Celebrity Apex cruise ship.

The Retreat Lounge offers guests some lite bites if you want to have yourself a little cocktail hour and collect a cheese plate and some charcuterie before dinner. They host afternoon tea some days, complete with scones and pastries.

You can also ask a dedicated concierge team that’s there any questions you may have about the ship or excursions.

The lounge is open 24/7; service times vary, but we generally found someone from the crew/concierge team there from early morning to late at night. It's simply a lovely place to relax.

celebrity cruise concierge room service menu

Premium Drinks

Premium beverages, including cafe drinks like lattes and espressos, cocktails, and wine, are included with The Retreat at The Retreat Lounge and all over the ship. AquaClass and Concierge classes do not have a space like this with premium beverages and it's not automatically added to the class type reservation.

However, you can inquire about drinks packages or All-Included rates (which includes a Classic Drink Package) when you book your cruise, giving you the luxury of not having to pay per drink.

Dining Invitations

You may have heard about things like a Chef’s Table for a special dinner on some cruise ships. For example, river cruises usually have a “Captain’s Dinner” evening, and barge cruises do too. Princess Cruises has a version of this on steroids with its Chef’s Table experience.

Celebrity Cruises doesn’t have that. However, they extend an invitation to Concierge guests to join a welcome lunch. The Retreat and AquaClass do not have this (but they do have their exclusive restaurants, Luminae and Blu.)

AquaClass vs. The Retreat vs. Concierge: Getting On and Off the Ship

Priority boarding on embarkation day.

The embarkation hours of big ocean cruise ships (and the thousands of people trying to board the ship) are rarely someone’s favorite activity, minus the excitement of getting on the ship at the end of the process.

This is why you may appreciate that being part of The Retreat will get you an additional perk: early boarding!

AquaClass and Concierge do not enjoy this benefit; only The Retreat does.

Cruise port in Fort Lauderdale with Celebrity Apex cruise ship in port and cars entering the driving area.

Priority Disembarkation and Tendering in Ports During the Cruise

None of the classes will get you this perk. However, we did have our suite Host escort us to the front of the line one day when we were disembarking at Grand Cayman.

Priority Disembarkation (at the End of the Cruise)

The same rule applies for disembarkation as embarkation: The Retreat guests get priority disembarkation.

This means you get your first choice of time to leave the ship on the last day. In many cases, because people want to prolong their cruise, you can choose to be one of the last to disembark.

AquaClass vs. The Retreat vs. Concierge: Dedicated Service and Crew Members

Butler/host.

All three classes enjoy some sort of butler or host service:

  • Concierge Class has concierge team members at their assistance
  • The Retreat has a dedicated Personal Retreat Host per suite (same for Aqua Sky Suites)
  • AquaClass has a dedicated Spa Concierge and stateroom attendant

Guests of The Retreat can also direct their questions to a dedicated concierge team in The Retreat Lounge.

Pre-Cruise Concierge

Only The Retreat guests can take advantage of a pre-cruise concierge service to assist with booking onboard experiences, activities, and port excursions before they board.

AquaClass vs. The Retreat vs. Concierge: Additional Perks

Anyone who books a cruise with Celebrity needs to choose whether they want to purchase the Cruise-Only or Always Included rate.

As expected, the Cruise-Only rate does not include Wi-Fi or drinks.

In contrast, the Always-Included rate includes internet (Unlimited Basic WiFi Package), gratuities, and a Classic Drinks package for the entirety of your cruise.

The exception is for The Retreat guests because all perks – like WiFi and premium drinks – are already included. Retreat guests enjoy a Premium Package for drinks, tips included, On Board Credit (OBC), and the Unlimited Premium WiFi Package.

Included WiFi

WiFi is included with The Retreat. It is not included with AquaClass or Concierge, though any guest can either add on wifi or take advantage of a promotion to include Wi-Fi when booking. (Such as if AquaClass/Concierge guests are booking an “All Included” rate.)

Shoe shining is included for all three classes upon request.

Special Theater Seating During Shows

Celebrity Cruises has premium evening entertainment . The Retreat guests can sit in a special, premium reserved area of the theater during performances on Evening Chic nights.

(“Evening Chic” is Celebrity Cruises’ term for formal nights, which are less formal than gowns and tuxedos like Cunard Cruises have. Evening Chic calls for elevated, elegant evening attire, whichever way you interpret it in what you wear. They are fun evenings designated to be a little fancier than others if you want to get dressed up.)

We never used this reserved seating perk because we always found available seating. However, we imagine it’s a nice option for times when the theater is packed.

Guests of AquaClass and Concierge do not have reserved seating.

Performers in the air and on stage with a pink and purple background during a stage show with Celebrity Cruises.

AquaClass vs. The Retreat vs. Concierge: Cost

It may not be the answer you’re looking for, but we recommend looking up the current cost of the Celebrity Cruises vacation you’re considering to understand the price. This is to ensure you’re getting the most accurate numbers.

Perhaps it’s hyperbole, but you can find hundreds of combinations of packages and rates for cruises. You may look up cruise rates today and then look next month and find different options.

Factors that affect cost include:

  • Cruise location/ports
  • Time of year
  • Availability
  • What class you’re looking to book
  • Current promotions

If you are lucky, prices may be such that it's a no-brainer to book AquaClass with an All-Included rate or to be in The Retreat in a suite you didn’t think you could afford.

It all depends on when you look and when you book. If you find a great rate, grab it!

Is Upgrading to One of These Classes Worth It on a Celebrity Cruise?

Overall, we think it is. However, it depends on what’s important to you during your cruise vacation.

For example, we really like small, exclusive experiences. This is especially true onboard a huge cruise ship. Small experiences and venues (dining and pool areas included) make a huge ship feel cozier to us.

And sure, we’ll say it: we like feeling a little more special when we travel. It helps us unwind and relax more to know we’re in the hands of a select team.

However, if you don’t need more than the main dining and specialty dining options on the ship and the main pool area that everyone can use is a-okay with you (heck, maybe you don’t even care about the pool at all and you prefer spending time in the casino) then booking a regular stateroom and getting the already included amenities may work for you.

An additional example is if wellness is paramount to you. If so, AquaClass could be just the cruise experience you’ve been searching for, with special spa access, in-room fitness equipment, a dedicated restaurant focused on lower-calorie ingredients and sustainability.

Another thing to consider, especially with The Retreat, with premium drinks included, is whether “free” cocktails, smoothies, and coffee drinks are even important to you. If they are, The Retreat has great perks. But you won't find value in included drinks if it’s unimportant to you.

Understandably, most guests will not want to pay for perks they won’t use.

To answer the question of “Is it worth the upgrade?” you first need to lay out your cruise priorities, then review this post again to see if your priorities align with the offerings in one of the upgraded classes.

Red and white striped wall with a double white staircae leading to a deck with lounge chairs on The Retreat Sundeck on Celebrity Beyond.

Is AquaClass Worth It?

AquaClass is good for guests who want wellness to be a vacation focus or it's simply a lifestyle value they want to emphasize during vacation. The in-room workout gear, special spa passes, and overall attention to health in AquaClass is certainly a special offering from Celebrity Cruises.

If you’re not that into wellness or fitness, but you love the idea of a dedicated restaurant and some extra special attention, spring for The Retreat instead.

Is The Retreat on Celebrity Cruise Ships Worth It?

Having sailed onboard Celebrity Apex in The Retreat class, we cannot imagine sailing with Celebrity again and not being in The Retreat.

We felt special, loved that we could go to Luminae as our home base/default dining experience, and really enjoyed The Retreat Lounge for pre-dinner cocktails every day. The Sundeck was great for avoiding crowds at the main pool.

We recommend The Retreat!

Is Concierge with Celebrity Cruises Worth It?

Concierge certainly doesn’t have all the perks of The Retreat, and it does not have as many bonuses enjoyed in AquaClass. Still, it’s a nice entry-level way to get a taste of what a higher level of service will be like with Celebrity Cruises if you’ve never experienced it.

While you won’t have a dedicated restaurant like Luminae or Blu, you will enjoy a special welcome lunch, an in-room welcome treat, daily canapés, premium bedding, shoe-shining, binoculars, and a dedicated concierge.

Helpful Chart Comparing all the Class Types on Celebrity Cruises

If visual charts help explain things (they do for us!), we created the chart below so you can see the Celebrity Cruises class types. It's very easy to compare AquaClass vs The Retreat vs Concierge at a glance this way.

Conclusion of Celebrity Cruises Class Types

The Retreat may be the ultimate way to enjoy all the perks Celebrity Cruises has to offer, while AquaClass is ideal for wellness-focused cruisers. If you want to dip a toe into upgraded class waters to try it out, a Concierge-level suite could be the perfect fit.

You have a great comparison with a few incorrect details. The Retreat Class does get a welcome gift/wine upon arrival. Along with the Upper Suites of Royal & Above receiving 2 Full bottles of Liquor of your choice & Mixers complimentary. You also receive water and refreshments daily from your butler. Additionally The Retreat guests do get priority disembark on tours if you go to the Retreat lounge. Some other additional information is that there are private parties and Speciality Restaurants is included for Breakfast, Lunch , & Dinner for Royal Suites & Above. Just some new information from a guest who has travelled in these accommodations

Thanks, John! We appreciate the insight. Our info came from Celebrity Cruises directly, so we’ll be sure to reach out to them to say, “Heyyyy are these new perks?!” 🙂

Thanks for the comparisons between those 3 class cabins. I was specifically looking for the value between an SV cabin and a Concierge cabin which I usually book if not Retreat. If only losing a dedicated concierge and a lunch (not ever attended), is there any justification for the rather large difference in cruise cost IYO?

Hi Carole! To clarify, do you mean “Sunset Veranda” when you say SV? If so, you’re not missing out on anything if you book an SV cabin compared to concierge if you aren’t attending the lunch and aren’t using the concierge service.

Thanks for the comparison. It is most helpful. Just wonder if you tip the retreat team in addition to the prepaid gratitude and if so how much is a reasonable amount and do you tip everyone who served you in Luminae?

Hi Lee! It’s entirely up to you. They always welcome extra gratuity and are allowed to accept it. Just bring some extra cash for that. It depends on the length of your sailing but an extra $2 per day even equates to a good amount of extra money in their pocket at the end of a 7-day+ cruise. It’s entirely up to you though.

Love how you defined each class. Very good information. We love the retreat suites. Would love if it included Blu and spa. A great comparison. Thank you

Thanks, Robyn!
