Finally, on September 3, 1973, it’s “Cast off!” for Scylla: With Scylla Tours AG, André and Martha Reitsma found the family business in Basel and thus a true pioneer of the river cruise industry. The MS Scylla, the company’s first passenger ship, began her maiden voyage in March of the following year. The rest is history. And one that goes back exactly 50 years, which we would like to celebrate with you on the following pages. Come aboard – and cast off with us!

Electrification of motor vessel Rütli

The Lake Lucerne Navigation Company (SGV) is electrifying the motor vessel Rütli during the winter of 2023/24. The motorboat's diesel engine will be replaced by a powerful electric motor. The first scheduled trip will take place in spring 2024.

With the Lake Lucerne Pass you can travel by boat on Lake Lucerne for 365 days a year for only CHF 299.00.

On all regularly scheduled cruises, the following applies.   Free ride with: • GA/AG • Lake Lucerne GA/AG • Lake Lucerne Pass • Day ticket with Swiss Half-Fare Card (Halbtax) • Pre-booked discounted day ticket • Swiss municipal day tickets (Gemeinde Tageskarte) • Children's day ticket • Day ticket for a dog • GA/AG for a dog • Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Travel Pass Flex and Swiss Transfer Ticket • Tell Pass • Junior Card: Children (6 to and including 15 years) and accompanied by one adult with a Junior Card   50% discount with • Swiss Half-Fare Card (Halbtax) • Interrail Pass • Eurail Pass • Children (6 to and including 15 years)    Passepartout: Local Passepartout public transport tickets are not valid on Lake  Lucerne! Exception: The Passepartout monthly or annual pass is valid on boats between Lucerne, Hertenstein, Weggis and Vitznau as long as the pass includes at least the three tariff zones 10, 29 and 39.

Where can I buy tickets for cruises on Lake Lucerne?

Tickets are sold on every boat as well as at our ticket offices at the piers in Lucerne and Weggis. From spring to autumn you may also use our seasonal ticket offices at the piers in Brunnen, Flüelen and Vitznau. 

SBB, Rigi Bahnen, Pilatus Bahnen, Treib Seelisberg Bahn, and the tourist offices in Beckenried and Gersau also issue combined tickets that include the cruise on Lake Lucerne.

Additionally, it is also possible to purchase tickets online.

Meet Our Team

Ethan Wingfield - President

Prior to joining Cruise & Tour, Ethan Wingfield served as Chief Marketing Officer of Consumer Banking at Capital One, leading marketing and growth. Prior to that role, he led a variety of functions during his nearly 15 years at Capital One, including Consumer Banking Strategy and Analytics and Retail Bank Transformation. He serves on the Board of Directors at Walden Mutual Bank and Geneva College, and serves as an advisor to a variety of startups. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Brown University and Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Jacqueline, share their home with two energetic Westies and their daughter. They have traveled to over 60 countries, ranging from a lot of classic destinations (France, Japan, and Mexico) to a few off the beaten path (Bahrain, Uruguay, Liechtenstein to name a few).

Tracey Conlon - General Manager

Tracey brings over 25 years of experience in the travel industry to Cruise & Tour. She has held leadership roles in Product Development, Operations, and Strategy and Pricing. Tracey’s passion for travel started with an exchange program to Germany in High School and continues today as she has traveled to over 65 countries. Tracey likes discovering the diversity of our world from the beaches of Fiji, to the South African landscapes, to the historical sites of Europe, and exploring in her own backyard in New England. Tracey resides in Massachusetts with her family and pets.

Bethany Manchester - Senior Director of Product

Bethany has over 20 years of product development, guiding, and operations experience in group escorted tourism. She has traveled to over 76 counties yet still has a list of destinations on her “hit list” and is missing her 7th continent, Antarctica! Bethany resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia where she enjoys hiking, being active and loves being a foodie!

Doug Johnson - Senior Director of Business Development

Doug has brought a wealth of travel industry knowledge to the Cruise & Tour team. Having spent 30 + years in the business working for high quality group tour & rail experience operators, he has held positions in Sales leadership, Key Account Partnerships, as well as Airline contracting & Pricing strategy.

Doug has visited 5 of the 7 continents, and some of his favorite destinations revolve around our natural beautiful landscapes including Mountains, Lakes, National Parks, and Wildlife. He loves being on, or at, the water, and in the summer months can often be found kayaking, paddleboarding, or boating with friends & family. He also enjoys hiking and biking.

A native of New England, Doug has two grown children who have graduated from university and are working in successful careers. He resides in Central Massachusetts and spends a considerable amount of time on Cape Cod.
