Curacao Brewing Company

Curacao Brewing Company is the one and only craft brewery/brewpub on the island. CBC is located in the historic plantation house, Granbeeuw, on the East side of the island. All of our beers are brewed on location and we offer a variety of beer styles including IPAs, brown ales, Belgium wit biers, saisons, and many different seasonal beers. In addition to our craft beer, CBC also has a BBQ Pitmaster that serves delicious meats such as hickory smoked ribs, chicken and pulled pork.

Distillery and breweries?

our family of 4 will be visiting Curacao Dec 26. Can anyone tell me if anything will be open. We have rented a car for the day and plan to drive to a beach/grotto-with a stop at Centro for snacks along the way-that we visited the last time we were on the island. I am wondering if there are any breweries that are open to the public, but don’t have to necessarily offer tours, just local beer.

Any info would be appreciated.

There's a Curacao Brewing Company in Willemstad that is sort of a gastropub. I don't think it's open during the daytime though. And of course the famous Curacao Liqueur Distillery where Blue Curacao is produced.

Amstel Bright is generally the local beer found on the island. But there's also Brion, which was originally brewed in Barbados but may now be made on the island as well. Not sure where that would be located.

I think all of these are found on the local maps.me app.

December 26 is a national holiday here.

Just fyi, Amstel Bright is not produced here anymore, but is considered a local beer.

Brion and Montana are local beers.

Unfortunately, the Curaçao Brewery closed several months ago ( no idea if it will reopen).

Normally on national holidays, the Centrum will be closed or have very limited hours. The Van Den Tweel grocery stores usually is open on national holidays.

Sounds like December 26th is not an ideal time to visit Curacao, if you want local things.

Bup1224, are Brion and Montana brewed on the island, or imported like Amstel Bright? And if brewed on the island where are the breweries and do they have tours?

I was afraid that it was a national holiday.

Do you think any of the shops near the port will be open? Or will it be a strictly beach day?

Don't get me wrong, Amstel Bright is my favorite beer even though it is imported now.

I would not say you can't get local things on Boxing Day such as beer!

Montana is brewed here in Brievengat. They do have a Facebook page under "Montana Beer - Serbes Di Nos - Curaçao Ale, suggest contacting them there to see if they would be open when you are here. I have heard they have tours but have not been myself.

Brion is also brewed here.

Most shops near the port are normally closed.

Beach day or a tour would be a great idea. At Mambo Beach, I have seen stores open on National Holidays in the past.

bup 1224, we will be in Curacao on Christmas Day 2018. I assume the choice of things to do that day will be similar to (or worse than) Boxing Day. Correct? I have read that the aquarium is open every day.

Restaurants usually have special holiday menu and reservations are required for most.

The holiday decor in Punda and Otrobanda is amazing!
