Florence + the Machine took the stage at O2 City Hall in Newcastle, UK on Friday night for their first full-band performance in three years. The concert marked the launch of the band’s expansive “Dance Fever Tour” in support of their upcoming album of the same name . As such, the 18-song setlist featured the debut four new songs: lead single “King,” “Heaven is Here,” “Free,” and “Girls Against God,” as well as the full band debut of “My Love.” 

Elsewhere on the setlist, Florence dusted off “Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up),” “What the Water Gave Me,” and “Spectrum” for the first time in a half a decade, and performed a new version of “Never Let Me Go.” Florence Welch was also forced to restart “What Kind of Man” after forgetting the lyrics, and relied on the front row of the crowd to help her out.

Dance Fever is due out on May 13th. The North American leg of the tour takes place in the fall, and features a rotating cast of opening acts including Arlo Parks, Sam Fender, King Princess, Yves Tumor, Japanese Breakfast, and Wet Leg. Get tickets here .

Florence + The Machine have announced details of their ‘Dance Fever’ arena tour of the UK and Europe for November.

Florence Welch and her band will tour in support of their forthcoming new album Dance Fever, which is set for release on May 13 via Polydor .

The group kick off the ‘Dance Fever Tour’ in Paris on November 14, before dates in Cardiff, London, Bournemouth, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow and Nottingham.

The arena tour will conclude on November 30 with a gig in Dublin. Support on all dates will come from Willie J Healey, while Aziya will support on the two London dates. £1 from every ticket sold for the ‘Dance Fever Tour’ will go to Florence’s chosen charity partner, Choose Love.

Earlier This week, Florence + The Machine announced three intimate UK shows for next month . The London band will take to the stage at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall (April 15), Blackburn’s King George’s Hall (16) and London’s Theatre Royal (19).

In a statement, Florence Welch and company said they “will play music from the new album for the first time, along with some favourites from previous albums”. The gigs will mark the group’s first UK live appearances since 2019.

Cleo Parker Robinson and her ensemble of 11 dancers

 brought an amazing performance to the Hartung Theatre a t the 

University of Idaho, Moscow, ID  

CPRDE performed seven exceptional works to an intimate and engaged audience of 162. The program featured contemporary movement with heavy influences from world dances- especially during the finale dance, “The Four Journeys” which tells a story of the four cultural roots of Mexico.

Throughout the week of residency, ni ne dance students from the University of Idaho Dance program worked with Cedric Hall, a CPRD choreographer of CLEO II company, preparing his debut piece, Springtime in Mourning which was also included in the CPRDE public performance. Cleo herself warmly greeter the attendees as if they were family.

Ball et Fantastique from Eugene, OR presented two fantastic performances of Babes in Toyland, set to the jazzy notes of Duke Ellington's The Nutcracker Suite to the delight of all at the Jones Theatre at WSU.  

Our talented cast of students joined th e professional team from BFan on stage as mice, children, and toy soldiers and more!

As part of a new collaboration with Moscow Contemporary and the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center, Tango Del Cielo delighted the crowd with their presentation of authentic Argentine Tango accompanied by music from Spain and Latin America.

Prior to the public performance, more than 50 VIPs attended a fundraising reception at Moscow Contemporary, amidst an installation of paintings from local artist, Elvis Rosendo, whose cultural roots are in Venezuela.  These images provided a beautiful backdrop for the reception, during which two Tango instructors from Spokane taught a lesson to the group.

Ballet fantastique, beauty & the be ast, the hartung theatre, moscow id.

Ballet Fantastique travelled for the first time to the Palouse with a full stage production, impeccable costuming, and a performance to entice new audience members as well as seasoned dance lovers. Mother & daughter, artistic team, Donna and Hannah Bontrager chose to portray the “tale as old as time” through its Russian folk roots. Based on Sergey Aksakov’s 1858 version, “The Scarlet Flower”, the ballet challenges traditional representations of women in fairy tales as saved by fairies and magic. In this story, a brave young woman must journey a long way and endure terrible danger. In the end, it is the heroine’s own bravery, moral judgment, and fortitude that saves both Beauty and the Beast. Characters in the ballet include Natasha, the Beauty; her father; Prissy Sisters 1 and 2; Russian soldier, Ivan; the Beast; the teapot, Madame Samovara; a Flirty Butler; the Count; and the Feather Duster. The music ranges from Russian folk tunes to Tchaikovsky, to Shostakovich, to intricate Baroque Vivaldi.

Our first in-person performance in nearly 20 months was with the amazing duo, Collision of Rhythm. Comprised of tap-dancing classical virtuoso, Aaron Williams, and beatbox-juggling keynote speaker, Bronkar Lee, they filled the stage as a 12-person ensemble would, moving from instrument to instrument with a high level of skill and diversity. What was created is a richly explosive experience like nothing else out there — rhythm-centered, but also full of melodic movement and dynamic depth. With drumming, tap dancing, rhythmic juggling, marimba, piano, saxophone, flute and so much more . Our audience loved the energy and inspiration of this talented team!

Both have achieved internet fame with “rhythmic” viral videos, Aaron, through his virtuosic rendition of Mario on Marimba (over 30 million views), and Bronkar, as the Beatbox Dad, through a video of him beatboxing with his son (over 144 million views). Together, they have worked with companies like GoPro, Coca-Cola, and Google, and have been featured on The Tonight Show, America’s Got Talent, and Super Bowl commercials.

Over a year since she first launched her record-breaking Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona, Taylor Swift has finally landed in the UK.

The pop star is kicking off the UK leg of the tour on Friday 7 June with three nights at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, where she will perform a staggering setlist of songs that span her extraordinary career.

This will include tracks from her 2012 album Red, her twin albums Folklore and Evermore, 2016’s Reputation, and her latest No 1 record, 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department.

Thousands of fans have already been photographed queuing outside Murrayfield Stadium in the hopes of securing the best possible spot in the non-seated ticket area, despite gates not opening until 4pm on Friday (7 June).

For months, cities hosting Swift’s stadium shows have been preparing to be inundated by fans, many of whom won’t have tickets to the shows but simply want to celebrate while their favourite star performs.

Last month, Barclays claimed that the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer’s tour could generate close to a £1bn boost for the UK economy, with fans splashing out on travel, hotels, restaurants, shopping and merch.

Culture secretary Lucy Frazer told The Independent: “From stadium tours to open mic nights, we know all too well that live music is an essential part of British culture. Swiftie Mania has enchanted a legion of fearless fans across the country who are in for a spectacular show with Taylor’s 15 UK dates this summer.

“They are not only set to generate nearly a billion pounds for the economy but will boost our brilliant tourism sector as we welcome gig-goers from around the world.”

Meanwhile, London mayor and “proud Swiftie” Sadiq Khan said he was excited to welcome Swift to London, which she paid tribute to in her 2019 hit, “London Boy”.

On it, the pop star sings about her love of various locations around the city, including “nights in Brixton, Shoreditch in the afternoon”.

London serves as a backdrop in songs on The Tortured Poets Department in a more heartbroken context, however, as Swift delves into the aftermath of her split from her boyfriend of six years, English actor Joe Alywyn, as well as her brief fling with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

“As a proud Swiftie, I’m very excited that the phenomenal Taylor Swift is coming to London next month and her amazing fanbase here in the capital and beyond will give her a big London welcome,” he said.

“Taylor’s decision to perform more nights of her record-breaking Eras tour in our capital than anywhere else is further proof that London’s music scene never goes out of style ,” he added, referring to the lyrics of the pop singer’s hit 2014 single “Style”.

He continued: “Her eight gigs across June and August will bring more than half a million music fans together, providing a massive boost to our hospitality sector and wider economy.

“I hope it will encourage even more people to enjoy the fantastic range of live music available in our city, including grassroots music venues, and inspire the next generation of London’s musical talent.”

The dog days are over, shake it out! Sure, those Florence + The Machine references are dated by now (still beloved!) but you can bet your flower crowns we will be howling them at the top of our lungs with thousands of other fans come fall. That is, Florence + The Machine have announced a string of North American tour dates beginning September 2 in Montreal and running through October 14 at The Hollywood Bowl. The tour will support their forthcoming release, Dance Fever , available May 13.

The tour will have some prime opening acts - Arlo Parks, Sam Fender, King Princess, Yves Tumor, Japanese Breakfast and Wet Leg. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning this Friday, April 1.

Given the choreomania theme of Dance Fever 's first three released tracks - and the accompanying music videos directed by Autumn De Wilde - were dying to see how this translates to her live show.
