Jozani forest

Wow what a scam. When I asked over an email how long is the tour they said from 9-14 and that shuttle, forest entrance fee and guide is included in total price of $110. We were back at our hotel at 12 and that includes 2h drive from our hotel to forest and back. Tour lasted only 45 minutes!! Guide wasn't very interested in showing anything he guided us to the entrance of the forest and showed us few monkeys and then we went to see mangrove roots. Cherry on top was when he asked for a tip and he didn't want to get out of the car even when I showed him email saying that his cut was included in total price. Complete waste of money and time.

I was visiting Zanzibar with two friends, and we decided to go with Eco Tours because of their emphasis on preserving environment and culture. There are a lot of tour companies on Zanzibar who all offer about the same thing, but I liked being with a company who emphasized these important values. We took the Unguja Ukuu tour, which I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away from the touristy crowds and having a day relaxing in nature. We also took the Jozani Tourist tour, and Eco Tours offered the best prices of any tour company around. We felt safe, comfortable, and taken care of on both tours. Would definitely recommend!

Had a great experience.Firstly we visited the Spice Farm. The tour guide "Khamis" was very friendly and educated us well on the different spices they have at the farm. I highly recommend if you have a toddler or a young baby, to carry a sling as around with a push chair well. We didn't have ours so it was quiet tiring because it was a long walk. You can use your push chair/pram when walking around Stone Town. Stone town was a great experience, you see the cultural goods being sold , there are different restaurants by the beach you can go to and relax. The guide explains the different parts of the old town in details which was a great learning experience.

I really loved my Spice Tour: the guide was nice, the spice farm charming, the local meal delicious. But my guide, who had worked with Eco & Culture Tours from their beginning, taught that they had lost their initial commitment to ecology and cultural respect along the way and had become just another tour company. Also, the booking process was a bit cumbersome.

After booking via eco-culture for a gift for our friends, it was an easy decision to use Robert & the team for our own Tour. We combined a prison island tour with a stone town tour. Worked out to our benefit. Our guide, Moosa kept us informed & interested & we even got to do some snorkeling. The stone town tour was very insightful and allows you to appreciate the history of Zanzibar.

I booked a last minute safari in the Serengeti with Eco and Culture Tours and was provided with exceptional service in terms of communication, arranging specifically what I wanted in a safari, and follow through to ensure that my expereince was satisfactory. The safari that was booked for me included excellent accomodations, prompt drivers for pick ups, and quality sercive for the entire trip. I highly recommend using this company to book safaris and other excursions in Zanzibar/Tanzania.

Lush mangrove forests, colorful coral reefs, chattering monkeys, and 150-year-old tortoises… Zanzibar is so much more than just sunbathing on the sand!

Zanzibar is home to numerous award-winning marine parks and wildlife reserves, all designed to protect local species such as the endangered red colobus monkey and the endangered Pemba flying fox, which is the largest bat species in the world.

Just a short drive from Stone Town are forests and hiking trails, or you can hop on board a boat to reach one of the many isolated, protected islands that dot the horizon — each with its own story to tell.
