Travel Club members receive priority access to home match sales. Unless otherwise stated, the first members' sale window is open to Travel Club members only so that they can access the best available tickets. The second sale period is then open to both Travel Club and members of the free England Supporters Club before the home match goes on general sale. Travel Club members will receive £5 off their home match ticket (£2.50 for juniors) during both priority members' sales.  Go to TheFA.com/tickets and select the fixture you wish to purchase tickets for. Alternatively members can call 0333 999 1863 to purchase their match tickets. Please be aware that tickets are subject to availability and all members can purchase up to 8 tickets. If you require a group booking, please select the 'group' tab on the ticketing website during the general public sale.  It is not possible to retrospectively apply the Travel Club discount on tickets purchased outside the priority sales periods.

How many tickets can I purchase for England home games?

My England Football and ESTC members receive priority access to up to 8 home match tickets, unless otherwise stated. If you require a group booking of more than 8 tickets, select the 'group' tab on the ticketing website and choose the relevant number of adult and junior tickets. The group booking option is subject to availability.

How do I purchase tickets for England away games?

For each England away friendly or qualifier, the England Supporters Travel Club will first open a 'registration' period whereby Travel Club members can register their interest in purchasing a ticket. Once this registration period has closed and supporters have been notified that they have been successfully allocated a ticket, they will be able to purchase during the advertised sales window via TheFA.com/tickets

How does an away match ballot work?

If an away match is oversubscribed (the number of members who have registered their interest in the game is greater than the allocation we have received), the tickets will be allocated in the following way: 70% of the ticket allocation will be offered to the ESTC members with the highest number of caps.  The number of caps you will require to qualify for the top 70% of the ticket allocation will depend on: (a) the number of members at the relevant time who have applied for the match; and (b) the size of our allocation for that game. The remaining 30% of the ticket allocation will be balloted to all remaining members who registered their interest.

When will I receive my England away match tickets?

Tickets for England away friendlies and qualifiers are for collection only in the host city - no tickets will be posted to members prior to the match. All ticket holders will be emailed collection details prior to the match taking place.  If you are successfully allocated tournament group match tickets, these will be distributed via the FIFA/UEFA Ticketing App closer to the tournament. As per the Terms and Conditions of the Travel Club, some ESTC members will be required to collect their tournament tickets from members of FA security. These members will be notified prior to the tournament with full details on how to collect their tickets. Please be aware that conditional knockout match tickets secured through The FA may need to be collected in person in the host city. Full details will be emailed to members after England's qualification to each knockout round.

When will I receive my England home match tickets?

Tickets for England home games are typically dispatched 2-3 weeks prior to kick-off. More information will be sent to ticket buyers closer to each fixture.

What are caps?

Caps are loyalty points awarded to members of the My England Football and England Supporters Travel Club for attending an England Men's Senior friendly or qualifier using tickets purchased from The FA.

What are caps used for?

Members can build up their caps level with the aim of applying for tournament fixtures or away matches. In the event that a tournament fixture or away match is oversubscribed, a ballot will be undertaken using the caps system to fairly allocate tickets to members.  For more information, please read section 6.2 of our Rules of Membership .

How are caps allocated?

Caps are allocated based on attendance - not when tickets are purchased. For home games 2 caps are added to My England Football and ESTC accounts within a few days of attending an England friendly or qualifier. In order for caps to be allocated correctly, supporters will need to assign their fan number to their ticket at the point of purchase in the priority members sale(s). Once that ticket is then scanned at the turnstiles, your attendance is recorded and will be updated onto your membership within a few days of the match.  Travel Club members who attend England away match friendlies and qualifiers, will have their caps added within a few days of the game taking place. Caps are only awarded for tickets purchased directly from The FA and no caps are awarded for attending tournament fixtures.

I purchased a ticket in the general sale, how do I get my caps?

You will need to email [email protected] with the order number and fan number(s) that need assigning. You will need to do this before the match takes place or within 21 days of attending. Please be aware that we cannot retrospectively apply caps for games outside of the 21 days or for tickets purchased prior to becoming a member. No caps are awarded to members who purchase their tickets through third party websites.

How does my linked junior account receive caps for England games?

When purchasing tickets, you need to assign the junior member's FAN number to the junior ticket in your order. Caps will be allocated as normal, within a few days of attending the fixture. It is not possible to retrospectively apply caps to junior FAN numbers for matches that took place more than 21 days ago or were attended prior to becoming a member.  If you wish to create a linked junior to your account, please login to the website here ,click "My Account" and half-way down your account page you'll be able to link existing junior members or create a new one. Please be aware it is not possible to link adult accounts to other adult accounts.

How can I purchase tickets to UEFA Euro 2024 Germany?

For all information on UEFA EURO 2024 Germany tickets, please head to our dedicated page here .

How will tickets for UEFA Euro 2024 Germany be allocated?

Only members of the 2022-2024 England Supporters Travel Club will be eligible to apply for England tickets in The FA's allocation to UEFA Euro 2024 Germany.  For more information on Euro 2024 applications and how tickets are allocated, please read our dedicated Euro 2024 FAQs .

How do I apply for a mascot place?

Due to the volume of requests we receive from supporters, the fairest way we allocate mascot places is through a competition on the 'Prizes'  page. The competition will usually be open a month in advance of an England match and will be communicated to all members. For safety purposes, only juniors aged between 7-11 years old are eligible for mascot places.  For mascot places to England U21 matches, please email the host stadium directly.

How can I track my membership card?

Membership cards and Junior Packs for the England Supporters Travel Club will be distributed shortly after you join.  If you think your card or pack has been lost in the post, please contact us on [email protected] and we will look into it for you.

Why is a security check conducted for the England Supporters Travel Club membership?

All applicants to the Travel Club agree to checks being made with the police and other relevant authorities. This is to ensure the integrity of the membership scheme and to help maintain the safety and security of travelling members. The security check also helps ensure that tickets are not distributed to banned members.

If you inform us of any Relevant Offence when you apply and you are subsequently excluded from becoming a Member, you will receive a full refund of your membership fee and any match ticket(s) purchased. If you fail to inform us, you will not be entitled to a refund. For more information regarding the security checks and Relevant Offences, please read our Rules of Membership .

I am a Club Wembley member, do I automatically become an My England Football or ESTC member?

Euro 2024 travel guide for england fans.

Here's all the details that all of the England fans heading to Euro 2024 will need, including match dates, things to do and best food and drink.

  • England fans have an unmatched passion, adding to the atmosphere in stadiums.
  • The England Supporters Travel Club offers benefits for those willing to pay a fee.
  • Gelsenkirchen, Frankfurt, and Cologne host England's Euro 2024 Group Stage matches.

England will be arriving in Germany in June for the start of the Euro 2024 campaign and their loyal supporters will be following them in huge numbers. Last time out in the World Cup, 8000 fans of the Three Lions made the over 4000-mile one-way trip to watch their national team play France in the quarter-final.

England fans certainly bring with them an atmosphere and a reputation that can't be compared to too many other nations in world football. In the aforementioned Euro 2020 final, the scenes in the stands when Luke Shaw found the back of the net inside the opening four minutes of the match were breathtaking. It was the first final of a major tournament that England had reached since winning the World Cup in 1966.

The Three Lions have an England Supporters Travel Club that anyone can join too. It does require that those wanting to join need to pay a fee to do so. But this covers things like security checks, general admin costs of assigning away match tickets, and all the things you would need for when you're away, like travel guides, as well as discounts on home tickets, and exclusive access to away and tournament fixtures.

Where England will be playing their first match of Euro 2024 certainly isn't the most recognisable name of the 10 cities which are hosting the tournament's matches. But the team that plays in the city, populated by over 260,000 people, should be more well-known. The city in the west of Germany is nestled between more well-known areas of the country, like Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Dortmund, and even Cologne, which should give travelling fans plenty of options for accommodation. All of those cities are within an hour's drive of Gelsenkirchen, other than Cologne, but it's only just over an hour away.

Euro 2024 stadiums: Where all fixtures will be played

Veltins-arena.

As you could probably guess from the title, the domestic side that plays in the stadium that will host England's first match is Schalke. The 1996/97 UEFA Cup Winners, and seven-time German champions, have not been going through their best period. Since the pandemic, they have been relegated to the 2. Bundesliga twice, and they aren't looking likely to get straight back to the Bundesliga this time around.

Even though they are now a second-division side, their stadium is worthy of hosting these big international matches. The capacity of the Veltins-Arena, or The Arena Auf Schalke, will be 50,000 for the Euros, but it can usually hold up to 62,000. It was first opened in 2001, and it has a slide-out pitch that can be taken out of the arena within just four hours. The stadium has its own stop on the local tram network. To get there via the tram, you will need to get on the 302.

Things to do in Gelsenkirchen

One of the easiest things you'll be able to do in Gelsenkirchen is to access Nordsternpark. The park is the size of 130 football pitches , as per UEFA, so it provides great space for walking or bike rides along the Rhine-Herne-Canal. You can take a cruise down the canal on a boat too, if that takes your fancy. The park also includes beer gardens, cafés, highly-rated restaurants, and a huge adventure playground for the younger ones. The best way to get from Nordsternpark to the Veltins-Arena is by car. You can walk or take public transport to get to and from the two, but it will likely make your journey upwards of 45 minutes long.

Gelsenkirchen has lots of options for entertainment. The city boasts the Musiktheater im Revier which shows lots of opera, ballet and orchestral performances. There is also an amphitheatre for those of you into more modern music which is in the Nordsternpark. There is a zoo (ZOOM Erlebniswelt) which features red pandas, lions and polar bears. Alma Park is an amusement park which is right in the centre of the city. It has everything from mini golf to trampoline parks, to football mini-games and even paintballing. Click here to see UEFA's full guide to Gelsenkirchen .

Best places to eat and drink in Gelsenkirchen

The city has a wide range of places to eat and drink. Many restaurants range from traditional German cuisine to fine dining. There are also lots of very appealing places like Curry Heinz to pop into for a quick bite before the game, as well as places that serve classic Italian and Mediterranean-style food. Click here to see Tripadvisor's full list of the best places to eat in Gelsenkirchen .

The Germans love beer, and so do the English, but there isn't a wide array of options in the city for a drink. There are a few spots dotted around, and a couple that are within closer proximity to the stadium, but not as many as fans may hope. England fans' best bet for a pre-game pint could be Glückauf-Quelle, which is a pub that has karaoke. It's a seven-minute taxi journey from the stadium or a 30+ minute walk.

England will travel 168 miles to play their second Group Stage game of the tournament against Denmark, in Frankfurt. The last time these two nations met at an international tournament was the semi-final of the last European Championships, where England won 2-1, after extra-time, at Wembley. Unfortunately, those England fans who want to attend this game, and haven't already sorted out flights to the city, will be spending a pretty penny to do so.

Deutsche Bank Park

The home of Frankfurt's football team, Eintracht Frankfurt, is also known as the Waldstadion. The stadium has been used in two past World Cups. It was one of the venues for the 2006 Men's World Cup, and the Women's World Cup in 2011. It also staged the opening ceremony for the 1974 World Cup, and it hosted two NFL games during 2023. One of the big upsides of this stadium is its retractable roof, which is a feature that isn't commonly seen on football grounds. It is accessible via the S7, S8, and S9 train services that run in the city, with a specific stop for those heading to the ground. You can also reach it via tram, and it's just over a quarter-of-an-hour-long journey to the stadium in a car from the city centre.

Things to do in Frankfurt

One easy thing to do whilst in the medieval city is to visit its grandest halls: the Römer. The Römer has been in use for over 600 years and is often used by celebrating sports teams who celebrate on its balcony with the fans below. The Kaisersall (Emperor Hall) is within the Römer and is described by Frankfurt Tourismus as the decorative highlight of the hall .

Everywhere you go in Germany you will see the historic style of buildings, or Bauhaus as it's known in the country. The common features are the white-painted exterior with wooden beams and a brown roof. But Frankfurt has a skyline that could make you think you were in a major American city. It's interspersed within the traditional buildings of the area and is a pleasing contrast to the eye.

Best places to eat and drink in Frankfurt

It's probably safe to say that a lot of the England fans who will be travelling over to Germany for Euro 2024 won't necessarily want a smart, sit-down meal before the game. They're likely to opt for something a bit quicker and more casual, and Frankfurt has those bases covered. Whether you want to go traditional at Best Worscht in Town, some classic pizza at Pizzeria 7 Bello, or maybe some Lebanese food from AROMA.

After the match, or on another day, fine dining might take your fancy. The city has some fantastic options for this too. They have very classy Japanese restaurants, traditional Mediterranean dishes, and, of course, some of their finest food from Central Europe too. Click here to look at Tripadvisor's top-rated places to eat in Frankfurt .

Unlike Gelsenkirchen, there looks to be a much wider range of places to have a drink in Frankfurt, both in the style of the places and geographically. There are a few Irish bars dotted around the main city, and Google Maps shows that there are lots of bars near the main train station - Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. Deutsche Bank Park is quite far out of the city centre, so there aren't too many places that are very close to it to have a drink.

How to Buy Euro 2024 Tickets

For England fans who want to see their team play a couple of times, your best chance will be seeing them play their first game against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen, and then their last one against Slovenia at the RheinEnergieStadion, in Cologne. This is due to convenience, as the two cities are only just over an hour from each other, so it's much more a commutable distance than going to one of the two and Frankfurt. It would also save as you wouldn't have to book two separate accommodations necessarily.

RheinEnergieStadion

Like the Deutsche Bank Park, the RheinEnergieStadion was also used in the 2006 World Cup. It also hosted the 2020 Europa League Final. It is the home of Bundesliga side 1.FC Köln. Up until 2001, there was an athletics track which ran around the stadium. But, after the announcement that Germany would host the 2006 World Cup, the city reacted and decided to renovate the stadium. Once it was complete, there was no track, allowing for a better viewing experience for those in attendance, as now they are much closer to the pitch than they were before the renovations.

The stadium will hold a maximum capacity of 47,000 people for the upcoming Euros, and it is the regular venue of the German Women's Cup Final. It is a roughly 20-minute drive from the city centre. You can also get the number 1 train from the city centre, which will get you pretty much directly to the stadium in just over half an hour.

Things to do in Cologne

Cologne is home to the most popular tourist attraction in Germany , according to UEFA: the Kölner Dom. The city's Cathedral of Saint Peter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has 20,000 guests per day passing through it. It was finished in 1880, and it took 600 years to build. The area surrounding it is full of cafés and bars too.

You can cross the Hohenzollernbrücke, which sees over 1,200 trains per day going over the 400m-long bridge that stretches across the Rhine River. It's known as a romantic place and is somewhere that many people go to attach padlocks to the railings of the bridge, as they do in Amsterdam, or at the docks in Liverpool, to give a more homely example. The Altstadt is the old town of the city and is home to 12 Romanesque churches and the city's 14th-century city hall.

Best places to eat and drink in Cologne

The city is known for its own type of beer: Kölsch. It's a specialty of the area, and it is recommended, by UEFA, that you try it in the city . Like the other stadiums, though, there aren't many choices of pubs and bars that are near the stadium. But, there are enough in the city centre to make up for it. Some are right next to the Rhine River, or, if you fancy a shorter journey to the stadium, some options are slightly further out of the centre, but closer to the ground.

A lot of Frankfurt's restaurants and grub spots are on the outer edge of the city, on the west side of the river. There are some options on the east side of the Rhine, but the west looks to be your best bet for food. As per with German cities, there will be plenty of local cuisine to tuck into before the game against Slovenia. Places like Lommerzheim are highly rated on Tripadvisor . Conversely, you're spoiled for choice if you want to spend your cash on some top-quality dishes.

Guide to Planning a Trip

There are so many different vacation packages to choose from when visiting England, let’s break it down and give you a few important things to consider!

Winchester Cathedral

Where to Visit? England, Scotland, Britain, UK, United Kingdom….

This can get confusing so let’s start out by getting a few things straight!

England is part of what is officially called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland . That’s a very long name to keep using! So to make things a little easier, we’ll just call it the UK.

The UK is made up of 4 regions – England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland . And across the border from Northern Ireland lies the country of Ireland (which is totally independent from the UK.)

So the first question to ask when looking for an England vacation package. Are you looking just to visit England? Or do you also want to visit other parts of the United Kingdom as well?

There are a few ways to plan an England Vacation Package. You could visit:

100% England Packages (we’ve got plenty of amazing things to see here!)

England with Scotland Packages: Combine a trip and go to Scotland as well!

England, Scotland & Ireland Packages : The big trip! These vacation packages sometimes also include Northern Ireland as well. For this size of trip, we recommend packages that are at least 2 weeks long!

And what about Wales? Many of the vacation packages also include 1 or 2 days in Wales

So in this article, we’ll divide up our vacation packages into 4 – ‘100% England Packages’, ‘England & Scotland Packages’, ‘England & Ireland Packages’ & finally ‘Special Packages’

What are our special vacation packages ? Well… these are packages that are based around a specific theme or event. In 2024, we have the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo Parade in July.

Plus we’ve got some amazing vacation packages for Downton Abbey fans, Game of Thrones fans, Outlander fans, as well as some awesome walking trips, railway trips and even adventure trips!

That’s a lot of England vacation packages to sift through! So please use the contents at the top of the page to navigate directly to what interests you.

We hope you find this guide useful. Please contact the Tourist England team if you have any questions!

england travel club 2023

How much would a trip to England cost?

This really depends on the length of your vacation package and the size of the group. Prices can range anywhere from $1,800 per person for an 8 day trip in a large group to over $5,000 for a 14-day small-group tour of England.

How many days do you need in England?

We would say that at least 7 days is a good amount of time to explore many of the highlights of England and get a feel for the country. Of course, you could easily spend many more days exploring the best of England, Scotland and Ireland with our amazing vacation packages from London !

How Can I spend 10 days in the UK?

We have many package tours that are 10 days in duration. Typically these trips depart from London and you can expect to spend 7-8 days in England, with 2-3 days in Scotland. With these kinds of holidays, you will normally travel in a loop, travelling north from London along the east side of England, heading into Scotland and then returning to London via the west side of England, with a little bit of Wales as well. Regions you’ll visit include Yorkshire, the Lake District, Scotland and London.

Do these vacation packages include financing options?

Many of the packages offer financing options, allowing you to spread out the cost of the trip over multiple payments. Many of the tours also require a low-value deposit in order to secure your place on the tour.

Do all-inclusive vacations get cheaper closer to date?

Normally booking well in advance is a good way to get a great price on vacation deals, since travel companies like people to book early. Vacation packages will only get cheaper closer to the travel date if the travel company is struggling to fill up the tour.

Is there a package to London and Paris?

We have a 9-day London and Paris vacation package that’s perfect for you! Spend a few days in London before hopping over the English channel and spend some time exploring the French capital.

Do you have mini-vacation packages to England?

Yes, we also have a selection of multi-day tours from London that last 2-5 days, as well as Scotland minibreaks from Edinburgh . These are great options if you are looking to visit a lot of sights but are pressed for time.
