About From2 Travel

Bus is a convenient way of travel no matter whether you need to get to a neighboring town a couple of hours away or venture further afield crossing the whole country. Whatever your budget, buses have you covered. Express buses offer the most affordable ticket price for travellers who have very little money to spend. VIP options are geared toward those who do not want to compromise on comfort. Before you jump on a bus, make sure you choose the type of service which suits you best. For a long-haul trip look for a VIP or first-class coach which provides non-stop service to your destination or just call a minor number of stations along the way. Express or local buses in many cases may prove an acceptable choice for shorter trips, but longer rides are often not the best buy. Study the timetable before going as many long-haul destinations are served by night buses, and some offer wider seats or sleeper berths for such travels. Make an online reservation for your bus ticket with From2 Travel. Other travellers’ reviews will help you to choose the best ticket and coach class.

From2 Travel Ticket Prices & Bus Classes

One of the best things about bus travel is that you can almost tailor-make your trip adjusting it to your requirements for privacy and comfort. Different classes and types of buses cater to the different needs of travellers. The cheapest trips are normally offered by standard-class buses. They may be called local, express or ordinary. These are a good choice for shorter trips. Sleepers or VIP coaches are good both for longer and overnight trips. They may offer berths or wide soft reclining seats, sometimes with built-in massage options, blankets, soft drinks, and snacks, or more substantial meals on board or during toilet or refuelling stops. Travelling by night buses allows you to save on a hotel room, but to ensure the most comfortable ride do choose the class of your bus wisely. Prices always depend on the distance you ride and the type of coach. For some, even shorter trips, it is worth investing some extra money and buying a seat on a VIP bus as it can save you twice as much time as you spend travelling by an ordinary bus.

Travel by Bus: Pros & Cons

Pros of bus travel.

  • Bus is the best choice to get to destinations that are not connected by rail or planes. The network of buses often covers almost the whole country, and their routes are well and long-established.
  • Opposite to air travel and sometimes rail travel, taking a bus does not require arriving at the bus station much in advance. Check-in, even on international routes, does not take much time. Luggage allowances are usually very traveller-friendly, and the fee for extra luggage, if limits are set, is normally not very high.
  • Bus tickets can be more affordable compared to air or fast train tickets. There is always a choice of ticket classes for all pockets. Cheaper standard options may be a bit slow and do not offer top comfort, but anyway acceptable and bring you to your destination. On longer routes, toilets or toilet stops as well as snacks, water, and sometimes toiletries and blankets are almost always included in the price.
  • If you are ready to spend more, some VIP coaches offer seating comparable to business class on a plane with wide soft reclining seats, blankets, fewer passengers, and many other perks to make your trip a pleasant journey.

Cons of Bus Travel

  • Newer intercity bus terminals are very often located out of the city close to bigger highways to allow buses to avoid city congestion. Unfortunately, it may create extra challenges for travellers, too. Getting to such a terminal may be a problem as in some destinations there are restrictions on vehicles allowed to enter the terminal, and you will have to use special carriers to get there. This results in higher costs as prices may be inflated. Also do calculate extra time if you are travelling during rush hours, especially if you are not familiar with the traffic situation at your starting point.
  • Buses are probably the means of transport which runs out of schedule more often than trains or planes. They are heavily dependent on the road situation which sometimes can be unpredictable – accidents, road construction works, detours, etc. This is especially true for travels during weekends, high season, or national holidays. Do keep this in mind and do not plan tight connections.
  • Travelling on certain routes or during the most popular periods may require advanced booking. Bear in mind that it is not always possible to show up at the bus station and hop on the next bus – tickets may well be all sold out, so organize your trip accordingly.

From Barcelona Airport to city centre

How do i get from barcelona airport to downtown barcelona.

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport is very well connected to the city centre of Barcelona by any means of transport. Barcelona airport code is BCN.  Located only a dozen kilometres from the city, most "airport to city" transfers take about 40 minutes, including waiting time. This makes it one of the most convenient airports in the country. Note, however, that there are two terminals, T1 and T2, and that the departure points - for the same means of transport - are not the same from one terminal to another. On this page, you will find the various means of transport and their departure points from Terminal T1 as well as from Terminal T2. Check the page Aerobus airport transfers for tickets.

Tips : Is your flight leaving Barcelona El Prat airport very early? Are you in transit?  Here are some tips and information to help you book Barcelona airport hotel easily!

1 - TRANSFER BY AEROBUS – THE OFFICIAL SHUTTLE BUS

From Barcelona Airport to city centre

How to get from Barcelona airport to Barcelona by Aerobus?

The Aerobus is a fast (35 minutes) and economical (9.75€) shuttle bus that connects Barcelona - El Prat airport (Terminals 1 and 2) with the city centre of Barcelona (Place de Catalunya). The route includes 3 stops at the strategic points of Barcelona: Pl Espanya, Gran Via-Urgell, Pl Universitat. The Aerobus operates all year round without exception with a departure every 5 minutes.

You just need to know:

  • there are two Aerobus A1 and A2. The first one at the start of Terminal 1 and the second one at the start of Terminal 2. A distinction to remember especially for your return because only this N° (A1 or A2) distinguishes the two shuttles in the return direction.
  • that the stops are not the same on the outward and return routes, as shown in this map :

Transfer From Barcelona to city centre

Aerobus A1: transfer Terminal 1 Airport to Barcelona city centrer

Travel time:  35 minutes. Price:   9.75 euros , one way and  14.65 euros  return. Route : Airport T2- Plaça Espanya, Gran Via-Urgell, Plaça de l' Universitat - Plaça Catalunya (terminus). Timetable: from terminal T2: from 5:35 am to 1:00 am - For the return from Plaça Catalunya, from 5:00 am to 12:30 am Frequency: A shuttle bus every 10 minutes from airport T2 for the return trip.

How do I buy my ticket for the Aerobus shuttle?

You can buy your Aerobus ticket on the spot at ATMs located in Terminal T1 as T2, but you risk wasting time in case of heavy traffic. You can also buy your ticket aboard the Aerobus, but in this case, you must top up. The driver does not give change on a ticket over 20€. You can finally buy your Aerobus ticket online, this is by far what we recommend. They're the same price. You can also buy your round-trip ticket online, knowing that the return ticket is valid two weeks after the validation - on-site - of the one-way ticket. Children under 4 years old travel free of charge.

Where are the aerobus stops at Barcelona airport?

The Aerobus stop at Terminal T1 is one floor lower than the arrivals hall. To get there, you have to walk to the bottom of the arrivals terminal, turn left towards a ramp that goes down and arrive directly in front of the stop; the Aerobus stop of the T2 terminal is located on the left as you leave the arrivals hall. If you are at the T2c terminal, go to T2a and T2b terminals to find the stop. video: Where to find the Aerobus shuttle bus at the exit of the T1 terminal.

Brit tourists in Spain warned to watch out for violent criminals after two sport stars are robbed by gangs

BRITS in Spain have been urged to watch out for violent criminals targeting popular holiday hotspots.

The warning comes after two high-profile sport stars were robbed by gangs as tourists prepare to flock to the Spanish paradises this summer.

Brits flocking to Spain this summer are being warned of violent robbers in the country

Sampdoria footballer Cristiano Piccini had his luxury watch stolen in Ibiza.

Motorbike muggers tried to run him and his wife over in front of their children in a terrifying broad daylight attack.

Argentinian tennis star Federico Coria also had valuables including his rackets, laptop and engagement ring taken from him in Barcelona.

Piccini was targeted in upmarket Marina Botafoch in Ibiza Town near a well-known hotel.

The 31-year-old defender said on social media: “Hello I’m writing to warn you so what happened to me doesn’t happen to you.

“I was walking in Botafoch Marina in front of the Ibiza Gran Hotel with my wife and my two children at 3.15 in the afternoon.

“I was assaulted by two people, two Italians and from the accent I'm pretty sure they were Neapolitans.

“They caught me from behind and stole my watch, I reacted quickly, I managed to get to the thief, who was leaving on a motorbike that was waiting for him on the other side of the pavement.”

Saying the motorbike rider had tried to run his wife over, the footballer added: “Obviously the most important thing is that my family and I are okay.

“What pains me is that this island, which is like my second home, is full of this sort of scum who without a second thought mug people like this, with children and family there.”

He went on to claim he had received no help from onlookers, warning tourists: “If you’re thinking of coming to Ibiza, be careful about what you wear, because of the way things are here, as you can experience a very unpleasant moment.”

Taking to TikTok, Coria revealed his own experience of becoming another Barcelona crime statistic.

The 32-year-old said how he and his girlfriend were targeted in a car park at Barcelona Airport.

He said: “My girlfriend saw something and went towards the luggage trolleys at the front of the car and saw a person running away with some of our suitcases.

“I was on the back seat of the car and heard her shouting but didn’t understand anything.

“When I got out I saw her running behind the man.

“In my desperation I didn’t close the vehicle and another person took the rucksack where there was a laptop and other technology and my engagement ring.”

He added: ”We went to report the crime to the airport police. We’d come from Paris which we know is dangerous and where you have to have your wits about you, but in an airport with so many cameras I would never have imagined this sort of thing was so common in Barcelona.

“There were two other people who had been robbed.

“I wanted to do this video to be able to alert people who are in Barcelona so this doesn’t happen to them.”

He finished up by saying: “It’s sad that they have all these cameras and police can’t do anything without judicial authorisation.

“They tell you the person who steals has more rights than the victims.”

The two sportsmen have gone public with their warnings as British and Irish tourists prepare to flock to Spain this summer.

Both Ibiza and Barcelona are known as favourite places for Rolex robbers who target holidaymakers.

Late last month two moped muggers were filmed snatching a man’s watch off his wrist in heavy traffic near Ibiza airport.

The pair took advantage of cars approaching a roundabout on the road to the airport ground to a halt to commit their crime.

Footage showed the moped rider approaching the driver’s window before his accomplice, who got off the vehicle as they prepared to pounce, rushed over to complete the snatch with his motorcycle helmet still on his head.

They were away seconds later, accelerating at speed in the direction they had come from, before other motorists had a chance to react.

The man they targeted, who was driving a luxury Mercedes G-wagon, tried to do a U-turn to follow them but appeared to give up after realising he had no chance of catching up with them.

The footage emerged hours after police on the island were pictured returning a £35,000 watch stolen by criminals to its rightful owner.

Detectives said it was one of seven expensive timepieces they had recovered after arresting the suspects.

A day earlier a gang of Rolex robbers pleaded guilty to targeting tourists in Majorca.

The five criminals accepted prison sentences ranging from three months to five years after admitting they had travelled to the island from Barcelona between March and April last year to commit crime.

They mugged four victims to snatch watches worth nearly £150,000 in total.

anyone have used this service from the barcelona airport to get to salou? if, yes, how is it overall?

Use plana bus the local bus company http://www.busplana.com

We used From2 for transportation from airport to hotel. Made us wait a long time so the shuttle was full. One couple from Australia waited 2 hours! I wouldn't use From2 again. Take the bus or get a cab.

This post has been removed at the author's request.

the first leg of the trip was the worst! THEY WERE 30 MINUTES LATE! the majority of the group were elderly. and to top it off, the from2 rep, Pilar, was extremely rude. When we do get to the bus, the bus driver said to load our own luggage! and to hurry because he was late. unbelievable!

the other services where ok, but they will still late on the pickup from the cruise port to the hotel.

the rate was good, but i guess you do get what you pay for. i don't know how they do with a individuals, or a very small van service, but if you have a large group - please select another company!

The driver spoke no English so you have no idea of what is going on. It was as though he assumed you knew when you were at your hotel as at times he only shouted out the name if no one moved to get off. But then we realised that we had not been dropped off at our hotel as the bus was now heading for Blanes. When questioned the driver became irate and clashed down his clipboard and was obviously cursing in Spanish. He turned back but did not take us right up to our hotel, he didn't even indicate which hotel was ours.

The return transfer was no better. We did get picked up close to our hotel, only FIVE AND A HALF HOURS before our flight departure! This was in the morning so we had no time for breakfast but was made worse by the fact that the bus driver stopped his engine at a pickup in Calella and disappeared for half and hour. We joked that he had gone off for his breakfast.... he probably had. Got to airport 4 hours before departure.

Booked From2 through On the Beach. I have never experienced such bad service with other transfer companies. In future I would make my own travel arrangements and that will not be through From2.

What you need to know about European travel this summer

With headlines warning of everything from flight delays to wildfires, summer travel is changing. Here’s how to make sure your trip this summer goes smoothly.

Record numbers of tourists are expected to visit Europe this summer. In the first three months of 2024, the number of international arrivals has already risen by 7.2% compared to 2019’s pre-pandemic figures, according to the European Travel Commission , with 120 million international tourists visiting the region in that time. Yet while this is welcome news for the tourism industry, some challenges remain for visitors, especially during the summer’s busy peak season, when potential flight delays, high temperatures, new laws and major events could all impact travel. Here’s what you need to know to make sure your European trip this summer goes smoothly.

1. What you need to know about flight disruptions

Increased passenger numbers, staff shortages and strikes meant there were 106.7 million delayed air passengers in Europe during peak summer months last year. More than 700,000 passengers were affected over the August bank holiday in the UK alone following a technical meltdown at air traffic control. This year, EasyJet has had to cancel over 100 flights from Paris due to a no-fly zone during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Ryanair has also cut flights from its summer schedule after the delivery of several of its new Boeing aircraft was delayed. If you’re due to fly, visit the airport’s website for the latest information, and check social media for real-time updates from other travellers. Remember that you may be owed compensation if you face disruption, but rules vary, so take out a travel insurance policy as soon as you book flights.

( What should you do if your flight is delayed or cancelled? )

2. Why you should consider travelling by train

Keep your carbon footprint low, avoid airport hassle and see even more of Europe this summer by taking advantage of a whole host of new and expanded routes across the continent. New services include a high-speed route connecting Barcelona to Madrid and Seville , a sleeper train from Brussels to Prague , a daily train between Vilnius and Riga , a relaunched night train between Paris and Nice and a sleeper train from Rome to the Dolomites . Following the success of Germany’s €49 unlimited monthly travel pass last year, France has also introduced its own nationwide rail pass for the same price. However, this is only valid for those under 27 and excludes high-speed TGV trains and travel in the greater Paris region of Ile-de-France.

( 6 of the world’s best coastal rail journeys .)

from2 travel barcelona airport

3. What to do you if you’re affected by wildfires

Following unprecedented high temperatures, wildfires swept through some of Europe’s most popular tourist spots last summer, scorching parts of Tenerife, mainland Spain, Greece, Portugal and Italy. This year, protective measures have already been put in place that aim to prevent a repeat of the disaster, with Greece banning all outdoor fires from April and increasing investment in fire detection and water tankers. To ensure you’re protected if the worst happens, arrange travel insurance at the time of booking, then keep an eye on official travel advisories for up-to-date information. If you’re affected by wildfires or any other natural disasters when you’re away, follow the advice of the emergency services and evacuate when instructed, then contact your tour operator or airline for help getting home.

( What to do if you’re caught in a disaster while travelling. )

4. How big events could disrupt your travel

From Taylor Swift’s tour across Europe to the UEFA European Championship in Germany, Europe is limbering up for a summer of major cultural and sporting events. The Olympic Games in Paris are expected to attract three million more visitors than usual . This is likely to mean a greater demand for accommodation, higher prices, crowded public transport, unexpected road closures and even increased security checks in response to the heightened risk of terrorist attacks. If your holiday does coincide with an event, try to explore beyond the city itself, visit nearby tourist attractions that could be quieter than normal, or just enjoy the inevitable citywide buzz surrounding the main event.

( How to explore Paris this summer beyond the Olympics. )

5. Why you should think about overcrowding

While many destinations welcome a return to pre-pandemic levels of tourism, others are actively trying to deter visitors. In Barcelona , tour groups have been capped at 20 people, while entrance to Athens’ Acropolis is now limited to 20,000 tourists each day. Dubrovnik has already cut the number of souvenir stands by 80%, while thousands attended an anti-tourism protest in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in April. All are concerned that overcrowding leads to skyrocketing prices for locals and causes environmental damage, with increased plastic pollution, erosion of heritage sites and traffic congestion. Consider less-visited destinations instead, swapping Santorini for Folegandros an hour’s ferry ride away, Dubrovnik for Šibenik with its medieval centre and fortress, or Barcelona for the Spanish seaside city of Valencia.

( What’s the problem with overtourism? )

from2 travel barcelona airport

6. How to deal with heatwaves

2023 was the hottest year on record globally, with temperatures in Europe above average for 11 months of the year. The Mediterranean was the worst area affected, with temperatures soaring above 40°C across Italy, Spain, Turkey, Cyprus and Greece. Consider travelling outside the hottest months, between July and September, or visiting destinations further north such as Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Lithuania or Ireland which should escape the most intense heat. If temperatures do climb, wear high-factor SPF, avoid being outside in the middle of the day and wear light-coloured clothes made from breathable materials. Avoid alcohol and drink plenty of water, and keep a close eye on vulnerable people, including young children and the elderly.

7. How to avoid being caught out by local laws and taxes

Do your research before travelling to make sure you don’t fall foul of new laws. A €5 tax for day-trippers was introduced in Venice in April, for example, and will be enforced on selected dates until July. It can be paid online in advance, and those staying overnight are exempt but do still need to register. A second tourist tax of €1 to €5 per night is already applicable to overnight stays and should be paid at your hotel. Be aware that some Airbnbs ask that this is paid in cash. Other new rules in parts of Mallorca and Ibiza ban drinking on the street and prevent shops selling alcohol at night, though you will still be able to buy drinks in bars and restaurants.
