Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and became the hottest star on Broadway? Why, it’s SpongeBob SquarePants! Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises. The power of optimism really can save the world in this amazing musical featuring irresistible characters and magical music. This deep-sea pearl of a show is set to make a splash with audiences young and old. Featuring students from JMU’s School of Theatre and Dance and School of Music.

For this "Forbes Family Fun" event, we welcome patrons age 3 and up.  All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket. There is no lap sitting or standing room allowed.  Booster seats will be available.   Contains haze and strobe effects. Come early to explore the lobby display and make a pirate hat! The SpongeBob Musical is presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

Tours begin in the lobby of the Health and Behavioral Studies Building (HBS).  No registration or appointment is necessary.

*If you are registered for a campus wide  https://www.jmu.edu/admissions/visit/index.shtml   tour they are scheduled at either 10:00 or 2:00. The School of Nursing tour’s time falls in between allowing prospective students to come before or after their campus tour.

We welcome groups from various organizations and high schools throughout the year. Please select the option below that best describes your group.

Individuals and families should view our   calendar   to schedule a visit from available dates.

Information sessions and tours are scheduled throughout the year on most week days and some Saturdays.

Tips for a Great Visit to JMU

A few suggestions on how to make the most of your visit to James Madison University.

  • Request your group visit online at least two weeks in advance.
  • Please let us know if anyone in your group has special needs related to a disability.
  • If you would like to meet with a specific department you will need to contact that department directly to set up an appointment.
  • Dress appropriately for the weather. We encourage comfortable clothing and an umbrella; tours are given rain or shine! Check the  Shenandoah Valley weather  before you leave home!
  • Arrive early.
  • Take a student-led campus tour through campus. If you are unable to participate in a student-led campus tour, maps are available for self-guided tours.
  • Enjoy lunch on campus in one of our many dining facilities.
  • Talk with JMU students you encounter during your visit.
  • Check out the University Recreation Center and the JMU Bookstore.
  • Attend a concert, lecture or athletic event. For a schedule of campus activities, visit the JMU  Calendar of Events
  • Ask lots of questions!

  • James Madison struck first in the opening inning, with an RBI double down the infield line to take an early 1-0 lead. 
  • The Terps responded in the third, scoring two runs from a fielding error and an RBI single from Sam Hojnar . 
  • An RBI double and wild pitch helped the Dukes regain the lead, 3-2, in the bottom frame of the third.
  • The Dukes added another run with an RBI double to left center in the fourth inning. 
  • Chris Hacopian and Michael Iannazzo both hit homers to lead the Dukes, 6-4, entering the bottom of the fifth inning. Iannazzo's was a three-run shot and the first of his career. 
  • Kenny Lippman and Logan Berrier combined for 6.2 innings of dominance. Lippman allowed just one run and Berrier went the remaining three innings while holding James Madison scoreless. 
  • Kevin Keister drew a walk and now has 107 in his career, tied with LaMonte Wade (2013-15) for fourth in program history. Keister broke a tie with Matt Swope (1999-2002). 
  • 1: Michael Iannazzo hit his first career home run.
  • 2: Chris Hacopian has a home run in each game against the Dukes this season.  
  • 4: Kevin Keister is tied for fourth in program history with 107 walks. 
  • 4: Hacopian has four three-hit games in his career. 
  • 5: James Madison went scoreless for the remaining five innings. 
  • 5: Maryland has won five straight games at James Madison.
  • 7: Maryland has seven three-inning saves on the year. 
  • 9: Maryland broke James Madison's nine game home winning streak. 
  • 10: Hacopian hit his team-leading 10th home run of his freshman season.
  • 15: Maryland has 15 comeback wins this season. 
  • 18: Hacopian has 18 multi-hit games this season.
  • 24: Jacob Orr has 23 multi-hit games in his career.
  • 36: Maryland now leads in all-time head-to-head games against the Dukes with its thirty-sixth win.
  • Maryland returns to Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium for its series against Illinois. Game one is on April 26 and the first pitch is at 5 pm. The game will be streamed on Big Ten Network and Maryland Baseball Network.
