What is karma? Most people understand karma as a balance sheet of good and bad deeds, virtues and sins. The mechanism that decrees that we cannot evade the consequences of our own actions. In reality, karma has nothing to do with reward and punishment. Karma simply means action: your action, your responsibility. It isn’t some external system of crime and punishment, but an internal cycle generated by you. Accumulation of karma is determined only by your intention and the way you respond to what is happening to you.

His uniqueness lies not only in the fact that at the young age of 19 and a half, he travelled to snow-clad Himalayas from Kerala, and there he met and lived for several years with a "real-time" yogi, Babaji, but also that he should undertake such an unusual and adventurous exploration, given his non-Hindu birth and antecedents. The metamorphosis of Mumtaz Ali Khan into Sri "M", a yogi with profound knowledge of the Upanishads and deep personal insights, is born of first-hand experiences with higher levels of consciousness....

Susan Shumsky is a successful author in the new age/spirituality field, writing books on meditation, intuition, prayer, auras, chakras, and the like. But in the 1970s, she was one of only a handful of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s personal attendants and administrators, in India, Switzerland, and elsewhere. Following the teachings of Maharishi displaced Susan’s devotion to the hippie lifestyle, as she learned about meditation and grew spiritually self-aware. Maharishi founded the spiritual movement TM (Transcendental Meditation).

"There is a promise Holy Mother makes to us," explains Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, "that any soul needing comfort, vision, guidance or strength, can cry out to her, flee to her protection, and Blessed Mother will immediately arrive with veils flying. She will place us under her mantle for refuge, and give us the warmth of her most compassionate touch, and strong guidance about how to go by the soul's lights." Untie the Strong Woman is Dr. Estes' invitation to come together under the shelter of The Mother - whether she appears to us as the Madonna, Our Lady of Guadalupe....

My name will mean nothing to you, but my story is a re-telling of the greatest story ever told and should mean everything to everyone. My story comes forth now because now is the promised day when satanic doubt spreads like black ink, threatening to blot out His very name, to reduce Him to nothing more than a teacher, to erase the eternal truths He taught and Lived. That cannot happen. Jesus was who He said He was. I know because I was there in the shadows of His holy footsteps. His miracles were real. I know because I am one of those miracles.

Although theologians are apt to explain away these teachings in various ways, the Vedantists believe Christ meant what he said. Listen to this remarkable recording and discover how Vedanta goes to the very heart of Christ's teaching.Vedanta came to the West in the late 19th century, not to supplant any religion, but to bring a more tangible spirituality to those who seek it. Its goal has never been to proselytize, but to help man realize the divinity within him.

Remarkable Journey of Self-discovery!
I really enjoyed this audio book, especially since I didn't have to struggle with the Sanskrit words. . I was impressed by the author's focus and devotion at such a young age. This book was well written and read by the author. On my own path to self-discovery, I am inspired by the story.

This book has changed my life
A story that had to be told. It is God’s plan to get these stories out to those who need to hear it and read it and understand it - it is that everything in life happens for a reason - to let go and let God. As a Muslim I’ve yet to read on a journey of a man so profoundly beautiful, scary and so profoundly meaningful and all with the single goal of finding his way to God. Appreciate the wisdom he shared.
Just WOW!!!
What a beautiful story that is well written/told also! This story is very inspiring and so happy to hear the story told from the voice of the author.

Life’s Most Adventurous Journey
I feel I am so fortunate so I got the change to hear this audio book. Most importantly it is so great to hear in the Author’s Voice.

Inspiring and Life changing
There were several positive things 1) The narration quality is excellent. The author is a natural story teller and has deep and contemplative voice. Use of various background sounds enhanced the hearing experience. 2) The humility of the author is inspiring. During his numerous unique encounters, I never heard him once criticizing a spiritual path, religion or person. 3) The habit of the author to take valuable lessons from both positive and negative encounters in life was inspiring.

ABSOLUTELY MUST READ
There are many reviews of this book and all are outstanding. I don’t know what I can add to that, only that I URGE you to listen to this story. It has so many good and tender moments. So much you can learn from the author’s life experiences. The background music adds to the ambiance of the book. The author, Radhanath Swami is also the narrator, which added to the story. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS BOOK!! My thanks to all involved, JK.

Radhanath Swami
Born in Chicago in 1950, Radhanath Swami, sets out to wander the world on a spiritual quest. Arriving in India in 1970, he lives the life of a wandering mendicant, travelling both outwardly and inwardly. Within months, his young world is augmented by experience, realization, soul-stirring revelations and near death experiences. He imbibes the teachings of great yogis, monks, and gurus including Swami Sivananda, Swami Rama, Swami Satchitananda, Swami Chidananda, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Ananda Mayi Ma, Neem Karoli Baba, Muktananda, the Dalai Lama and Mother Teresa. He meets lepers and Naga Babas, contemplative Buddhists and mystic yogis. Living in Himalayan caves, forests and under trees, he moves through the subcontinent with a thirst for "the truth" that is rarely seen. Fasting and meditating for a month on the Banks of the Ganga in Rishikesh, he hears the celestial sound of mantras emerging from the Holy River.
Each experience brings him closer to the core of India's mystic teachings and to the divine love he has been seeking. He reveals all in "The Journey Home", a penetrating account into the heart of a seeker, filled with humor, adventure, wisdom, and inspiration. Perhaps not since, Autobiography of A Yogi, has such a lucid and intricate tale of one man's revelation of the soul been so wonderfully recounted. As a man of infinite depth and grace, his life story offers all who hear it, an infinite wisdom.
