Nothing but positive feedback on Liadis Travel. Our agent, Frank, was very knowledgeable and returned all email questions right away. I had done a lot of research on my own and Frank was a great resource on hotel ideas and locations. All airfare was scheduled and flawless. All tours scheduled were easy to get to and exactly what we had hoped for. I'll be contacting Frank again when we schedule or next trip.
We agreed to work with Ronnie for our Greek travel. After one proposed Itinerary for Greece we gave feedback including a request for accommodations that were less that $1000 a night. She responded and said she could not accommodate these requests. I would not even try to use Liadis Travel unless you have a very significant budget per day as the suggestions are limited to high dollar accommodation in several places.

I am sorry you were offended that I could not accommodate your budget for a trip to Greece. It is unfair of you to write a negative review of Liadis Travel because I was very clear of the prices of accommodations in my initial conversation with Joyce. I spent an hour on the phone and then over an hour arranging the itinerary that Joyce and I had discussed and then was advised that your budget was less than half of what was agreed upon. Your budget is unrealistic for the time of year you want to travel as it is high season, the islands you want to visit and the number of people who will be traveling. I do not recommend less than 3 star hotels because I don't want my clients to be disappointed with their experiences in Greece. My email offered alternative companies for you to use that would accommodate your budget. Liadis Travel has been highly respected in the travel industry since 1979 and I have received many awards for customer service so I am insulted by your inaccurate accusations. Just to clarify, my conversations were with Joyce and never you plus you never paid the agreed upon planning fee.
My husband and I used Liadis Travel to go to Greece, which we were considering as a location for our wedding. Ronnie and her team set us up with the most perfect vacation as we scouted our possible venue. We were realistic about our budget (which was not particularly high) and appreciated Ronnie's input. Her enthusiasm was contagious. Her knowledge of Greece was the reason we ended up with such a wonderful and flawless experience.

I am so glad you enjoyed your trip to Greece. Thank you for your business and we look forward to working with you again.
I found Liadis Travel when looking to book a trip at a Virtuoso hotel in San Juan, PR (Condado Vanderbilt). Betty Morganti booked a flight and hotel stay including an upgraded hotel room and free breakfast. Unfortunately a few weeks before the trip, earthquakes struck Puerto Rico and we did not feel comfortable taking a chance of traveling there with a baby. We again asked for Betty's help and she spent a great deal of time researching alternatives that were available and not outrageously expensive at such short notice. She changed our flights and booked a property in the Florida Keys called Hawks Cay Resort and we had an amazing time. Thank you, Betty!

Thanks Caroline for your kind words. Betty works very hard to make sure our clients are safe and happy when an emergency arises. We appreciate your business and look forward to planning many more trips for you and your family.
Ronnie may be knowledgeable about high end hotels and itineraries in Greece, but unfortunately we found her inflexible and lacking compassion.

The service that I offer is crafting luxury travel experiences to Greece. I work with top hotels to give my clients extraordinary experiences and exclusive amenities that other planners cannot match. I offer personalized service from the planning stage until my clients return home. My work is labor intensive and every trip is custom crafted to meet my clients' needs. I understand that not every person who wants to visit Greece has the budget to afford a luxury trip, but that does not mean that I "lack compassion". It means that my services are not the correct fit for everyone who contacts me. In my opinion, it is very unfair of you to post a negative review since you have never experienced a trip to Greece through my agency. I strive to maintain a stellar reputation and have won many awards for the service I provide so I am glad that my clients do not agree with your opinion.
People are always astounded when we tell that we use a travel agent, particularly Liadis Travel. My husband and I are educated professionals who are pretty tech savvy and enjoy the research of looking for fun and interesting places to go. What they don't know is that often, a travel agent can get you great deals at no charge to yourself. In being a Virtuoso agency, when we book through Liadis, we get things like free upgrades, complimentary daily breakfasts, spa credits AND (not "or") early check in and late check out. Yup - that's right. We get ALL of that, and any commissions are not paid by us but by the hotel. So seriously, why wouldn't you use a travel agent? We have used Liadis for over a decade, first for as a newlywed couple for amazing, exotic adventures, and then as a family with young child, for things like Disney cruises and the like. Their speciality is in luxury 5-star kind of stuff, but they can book and recommend other hotels as well, including airfare, etc. They also are generally knowledgeable in the, "Is there a resort nearby that is kid friendly and that we can take a 45 minute flight to for over the weekend" kind of general questions. We have worked with both Betty and Ronnie and can vouch for how awesome they are. Thanks, Liadis!
Liadis Travel has helped me plan at least 9 trips. The first was to Greece where Ronnie Liadis helped to make my fourth trip to that country by far the best experience. The hotels were beautiful properties managed by friendly and caring staff, and I was grateful to know that Ronnie was in constant contact with the properties ensuring that our travels were trouble free. Since that trip I have used her staff for trips to Cuba, Dubai, Europe, Costa Rica and several Caribbean islands. I have never been disappointed, only more impressed. The agency is a pleasure to work with, always professional and can suggest properties and tours that I would not be able to book on my own. I would not consider going on a trip without first contacting Liadis Travel.
Ronnie liadis is a pretentious, arrogant disgrace of a travel agent. Referred to her by another family, all she talked about is how she only books 5 star hotels over 400 euros a night implying through the entire conversation that I don't make enough money to work with her, having no clue how much I make. Ironically I was looking for 5 star hotels. Then she insisted on charging me a $500 planning fee which I know she hasn't charged others again reiterating her "high end clientele". Get off your high horse and know your client before you judge them.
Have used Liadis for a couple different vacations and all have been great. Always good recommendations for hotels/tours and restaurants while we're on vacation. We'll definitely be using Liadis for future vacations with my family.

So, You Want to Go to Greece? We Asked a Travel Expert Everything You Need to Know
Virtuoso's Ronnie Liadis shares her top travel tips for Grecian travel in 2021.
Every item on this page was chosen by a Veranda editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy.
When Greece first announced earlier this year that it would open its borders to fully vaccinated Americans (and those with a negative PCR test) in late spring, bookings for Greek vacations began to skyrocket across the country. Virtuoso travel advisor Ronnie Liadis says between rebookings of 2020 trips and people desperate for an international getaway after more than a year at home, many hotels across the Greek Isles have reached full capacity for September. We asked Liadis what we need to know about traveling to Greece this year and a few destinations we may want to consider to avoid crowds of tourists.
Greece Travel Requirements
It's important to stay up-to date with Greece's mask and social distancing guidelines as you prepare to travel as well. As of the date of publication, the country requires wearing masks in public places and social distancing. Additionally, all shops, restaurants, and museums are open at limited capacity, so it's best to make reservations where you can.
Where to Travel in Greece
Liadis says she is visiting Greece herself in early June to discover the travel trends and be able to best assist her clients looking to travel to the country. She says Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos are the most popular destinations across Greece's 1,000-plus islands and will likely be the hottest travel spots for international travelers this year.
"The small, more remote islands are spread out and have smaller hotels, which is preferred for this summer," she says. "Naxos and Paros are two islands in Cyclades that aren't as built up, and the small hotels there offer plenty of space so guests feel comfortable." Liadis also notes that Halkidiki, a beach resort area in northern Greece, is an excellent travel destination offering a luxurious Grecian experience without the crowds.
While Turkey and Italy are both close by, Liadis advises travelers to tame their wanderlust and stick to staying in Greece for the duration of their trip. "Greece has so much to offe, from ancient history, magnificent beaches, charming villages, and local cuisine, that I recommend seeing more of Greece and keeping another country for another trip. There are more than 1,000 islands, and every one has its own personality. You can never be bored in Greece."
Discover four luxury travel recommendations below for experiencing the best of Greece while avoiding the crowds.
Book a Fully Planned Vacation with a Trusted Luxury Travel Group
TCS World Travel , a luxury tour operator and private jet expedition company, is offering a can't-miss, all-inclusive vacation experience, Undiscovered Greek Isles . This fully customized, private vacation offering creates the perfect family, couples, or friends' trip with highlights including cultural experiences, yacht tours of the area's most beautiful beaches, and exceptional accommodations at the islands' chicest hotels. This is an excellent option for those seeking to explore the country but aren't comfortable with the hustle and bustle of tourist-ridden destinations.
If you're open to discovering the country's most popular islands, book a small private group vacation with Insight Vacations' Greek Island Hopper . This trip features tours from local experts, coastal cruises around the Aegean Sea, and unique and intimate cultural experiences you wouldn't be able to book on your own.
Opt for a Villa Accommodation
If you have your heart set on visiting one of Greece's most popular islands, Liadis advises finding a private villa rental or a boutique hotel that offers villa accommodations to have a more exclusive experience.
Kalesma opened on Mykonos this month and features 25 beautiful accommodations across five hilltop acres overlooking Ornos Bay. The property features spacious suites and villas boasting private pools, sunset and sea views, and discreet surroundings. Plus, the hotel features a unique array of gastronomic, cultural, and wellness experiences if you don't feel like venturing into town.
We're also smitten with the new vacation rental offerings from Onefinestay , from Accor Hotels, in Mykonos and Santorini for those seeking more space and privacy for an extended vacation.
Set Sail for the Week
While we're a bit hesitant about hopping aboard a giant cruise ship, we are excited about Variety Cruises , a third-generation Grecian-family-owned travel company, and their unique offerings for showcasing the best of Greece. The company has returned to sea this month with seven exciting eight-day excursions aboard their mega-yachts throughout Greece, including a few with additional days exploring the Adriatic and Turkey.
These trips feature one-of-a-kind experiences from the locals themselves that will leave your family with their fondest memories of the Mediterranean. Plus, you'll visit Greece's most beautiful private beaches that are only accessible by boat, and you'll always have a fabulous ocean view.
Venture Out
Follow Liadis's advice and book your stay in Greece's gorgeous northern region of Halkidiki, a beloved destination by locals and home to Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city. We're smitten with Ekies All Senses Resort , a design-centric hotel in Sithonia, on one of the region's three peninsulas that features award-winning cuisine and is an excellent option for families. An eco-friendly spa, picnic lunch cruises around nearby islands, and a charming poolside bar round out the amenities.
We're also smitten with the Cycladic islands of Paros and Naxos, which offer the luxury and charm of more populated locales with a bit more seclusion and opportunities for cultural immersion. You'll want to bring an extra bag to take home after a stay at Parīlo Hotel , a design-focused hotel that hosts a fabulous shop of local antiques and crafts curated by Andria Mitsakos .
