Fabulous products!!

We love everything Orbit Baby! Orbit Baby is luxurious, yet practical. The stroller and infant carrier are truly one of a kind. Transitions between stroller and car base are phenomenal and make running errands such a breeze. My newborn loves the car seat just as much as I do. The car seat is super easy to clean and holds up really well in the wash. The products are made with quality materials and seem to be made with comfort and safety in mind. I am using Orbit Baby products for my third child and I wish I would have discovered them sooner!!

The most AMAZING stroller!

Orbit Baby came highly recommended by one of my friends (mom of 3) and she was right! This is the stroller every woman needs! It's high quality, completely customizable, and has every option you can ever need. Everything about this stroller, carseat, base and accessories is so well designed. The add ons Orbit Baby offers are amazing and make being out and about with kids so much easier. I cannot recommend this travel system enough. This stroller is the G-Wagon of strollers. It’s chic, luxurious and everyone legit stops you to look at it. The 360° turn is unmatched and the durability of this stroller and car seat is impeccable. Durable and chic all in one!

I bought the orbit due to recommendations and it has not disappointed. My baby is now 4 months and the amount of compliments I receive is insane! Aside from the compliments, it truly is a great car seat/stroller. We are a off-roading/camping family and the orbit car seat was amazing when it came to the safety and security that my baby had while in it.

Plush gift or push gift

I can’t explain how special my pregnancy was to our family. We absolutely prayed for This baby and the opportunity to carry him. Our fertility journey was costly, however when you want something bad enough it doesn’t matter the sacrifice right? Well that is how we felt about orbit. What do you put your dream baby in? A plush gift, a plush carrier and a luxurious ride. I spent so much time looking at the competition, but in the end there was none! I booked and received a consultation , I was blown away by the gentleman whom assisted me. So I called back and added my husband to the call, it was so refreshing to see a dad show is the orbit way. My husband was blown away by the service and the system. We then was in Florida for a graduation and made a stop at a AVentura mall just to see the orbit. I was committed and wanted to see it in person. My husband was soon on board and orbit came to our home. We are so happy we made this sacrifice to invest in orbit. We love our ride and our baby loves it too. So far it’s been a dream come true, we were blessed to get our baby and saved up for the orbit. We don’t have all the pieces (rain cover etc) but we would love to grab those things in the future to come. Right now we will make do with what we have. Orbit for the Win

A long time ago back in 2021 I was a first time pregnant mama visiting Disney World with my husband and family. While at the parks we saw a rare breed of stroller from afar. I quietly began to check out every inch of this child mover in all its glory. This puppy had 3 three kiddos riding dirty on it (literally) and I was completely blown away. I just had to know everything about this and the mama happily explained that it was an Orbit. I watched her swivel the youngest baby around so she could see different parts of the parade. I watched the oldest child hop on to the sidekick like a professional. Then the middle child gleefully played in his seat at the front. It was epic and I NEEDED one. But alas I had already purchased a popular competitor stroller (starts with Up and I’ll let you fill in the rest) and my husband was not eager to purchase another car seat and stroller, understandably. But I could not sleep. I could not eat. I could not do anything without thinking about the Orbit. Every time I got in and out of my truck I would imagine how difficult it was going to be getting my son in and out without a car seat that swiveled. While going for a walk I would look at other mother’s strollers and think how annoying it must be to not be able to turn their baby’s seat to see different things, since none of their strollers could rotate 360 degrees, and then I would remember my Up______ stroller wouldn’t be able to either . Needless to say I was in love and I simply had to have the Orbit (both the G5 stroller and car seat to be exact). So, I came up with a plan to do some freelance work to cover the cost and I went to my husband to discuss it. However he kindly explained that it simply wasn’t doable at the time, and I respected that. Well low and behold that man had already purchased the set because he too saw the value and was even able to get financing! He surprised me on Christmas morning with the bundle and it was perfection. Fast forward to today, our son is 6 months old and we can’t imagine life without our Orbit system. We’ve taken it everywhere and our son loves it too. Now we are the parents helping other new parents see how incredible Orbit Baby is! It truly comes full circle (pun intended) 100/10 recommend.

This entire stroller is TOP NOTCH! It is the perfect design and easy to use. This stroller turns heads at stores and doctor offices. I have the entire unit and it's so easy to use. Not sure how they do it BUT the shipping speed is insane. It's like they're waiting for you to hit complete on your purchase and it's at your doorstep soon after. Orbit Baby’s Stroller Travel System G2 is a modular system that consists of a stroller base and an infant car seat. You can later transition to a stroller seat or opt for the Stroller G2 package that skips the car seat and moves straight to the stroller seat/stroller base combination. The stroller base accepts either seat without needing additional adapters, and the large circular target eliminates any awkward navigating to lock the seat into place. Once engaged, the seat can rotate 360 degrees or recline to a fully horizontal position. The rotation allows you to switch from forward facing to rear facing with little effort and even provides a sideways position, which is great for pulling your child right up to the dining table.

Both seats come with a generous canopy, and the car seat includes a UV sunshade that stretches to fully cover your child and cocoon him in the incredibly plush seat. The certified green eco-fabrics are machine washable. The unique below-carriage cargo pod is removable—convenient for packing the day’s necessities and keeping valuables close to you. The footrest extends downward to accommodate a growing child, and stroller handles extend upward to accommodate parents of different heights. The stroller suspension supports a smooth ride atop all-terrain wheels. With the seat removed, the frame folds down compactly with a single-handed twist of a bar and can be easily towed.

Orbit Baby G3 Travel System stroller is perfect for travelling. I have i 1 and 6 4 months baby. I bought this stroller for my baby, when i went to Chicago to Newyork about 2 months ago. This stroller is upgrade version which seat is really comfortable for newborn baby.

I like your post, but personally i like Baby Jogger City Select Stroller, which has more sturdier construction. The only disadvantage is price which is nearly $600. Thanks. Martin.

The Orbit Baby G2 is a super versatile, state-of-the-art stroller. It's main selling point is that it allows you to rotate and recline your child in one fluid movement which means they can face you, face outwards or be rotated to the side and at the same time they can be sat upright or reclined. It is suitable from birth to toddler.

The designers of the Orbit Baby G2 really were thinking of the parents when they designed this stroller - it has a wealth of innovative features, many of which are workable one handed. It also has a vast collection of accessories (some at additional cost) - my favourites being the sidekick stroller board for older siblings and the removable Cargo Pod changing bag.

The Orbit Baby G2 really is a show stopper. I have men and women stopping me in the street and asking me about it every time I take it out. The 360 degree swivel and the sidekick receive the most attention.

What we love

• The smart hub 360 degree swivel is easy to use and so handy when you frequent coffee shops and restaurants as you can park the stroller in a small gap alongside your table and rotate your little one so that he or she is still facing everyone.
• The stroller is lightweight and compact. It's super easy to collapse - you genuinely can do it one handed - and it folds down small enough to fit in the tiniest of car boots. The pram itself is also very slimline - it's easy to get through doors even with the sidekick attached - but at the same time is a very decent size and keeps a newborn baby well supported as well as fitting a 3 year old in with room to spare.
• It is a pleasure to push and very easy to manouvre - even one handed and with a 3 year old on the sidekick.
• The extendable handlebars allow people of different heights to push the stroller comfortably and can be altered dependent on your footwear.
• It has a key tray and coffee holder for the parents and a snack tray for the passenger!
• The Sidekick is, without any shadow of a doubt, the best invention ever. Having a buggy board to the side of the pram as opposed to inbetween you and the main body of the pushchair makes such a difference. It means you can walk normally and not have to worry about bashing your ankles, or your older child! Another pro of having it to the side is that you can have two fitted at a time (one on either side) and, being attached to the wheels, makes them easy to move up and down kerbs when crossing the road.
• All upholstery is removable for easy cleaning which is a big selling point for me as I like to keep my strollers immaculate.
• Spacious panniers are available (at an extra cost) which are very useful and deceptively large. However these need to be removed before folding the stroller and also make it a fair bit wider so you can't fit through some doorways.
• The under pram bag/storage that forms part of the Orbit Baby is genius. It holds a lot more than you'd expect and has an over the shoulder strap so you just have to slide it out and pop the strap over your shoulder for easy transportation.
• It is compatible with a Maxi Cosi car seat with adapters (available separately).
• The UV sunshade with Paparazzi Shield extension is great for protection from the sun or when baby is asleep.
• Although it's lightweight, this stroller is very sturdy. Even weighed down with shopping bags it doesn't tip up!

What to look out for

The only tiny fault I can find is that the under stroller storage requires organisation. Although the bag has ample room for your rain cover, bottles, changing accessories and a few other bits, it's not a basket you can easily sling your shopping into. However the stroller does have two separate handles on which you can hang shopping bags plus panniers are available to purchase at extra cost.

Learn about the history of humans traveling into space.

The first earthling to orbit our planet was just two years old, plucked from the streets of Moscow barely more than a week before her historic launch. Her name was Laika. She was a terrier mutt and by all accounts a good dog. Her 1957 flight paved the way for space exploration back when scientists didn’t know if spaceflight was lethal for living things.

Humans are explorers. Since before the dawn of civilization, we’ve been lured over the horizon to find food or more space, to make a profit, or just to see what’s beyond those trees or mountains or oceans. Our ability to explore reached new heights—literally—in the last hundred years. Airplanes shortened distances, simplified travel, and showed us Earth from a new perspective. By the middle of the last century, we aimed even higher.

Our first steps into space began as a race between the United States and the former Soviet Union, rivals in a global struggle for power. Laika was followed into orbit four years later by the first human, Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri A. Gagarin. With Earth orbit achieved, we turned our sights on the moon. The United States landed two astronauts on its stark surface in 1969, and five more manned missions followed. The U.S.’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched probes to study the solar system. Manned space stations began glittering in the sky. NASA developed reusable spacecraft—space shuttle orbiters—to ferry astronauts and satellites to orbit. Space-travel technology had advanced light-years in just three decades. Gagarin had to parachute from his spaceship after reentry from orbit. The space shuttle leaves orbit at 16,465 miles an hour (26,498 kilometers an hour) and glides to a stop on a runway without using an engine.

Space travel is nothing like in the movies. Getting from A to B requires complex calculations involving inertia and gravity—literally, rocket science—to "slingshot" from planet to planet (or moon) across the solar system. The Voyager mission of the 1970s took advantage of a rare alignment of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune to shave off nearly 20 years of travel time. Space is also dangerous. More than 20 astronauts have died doing their job.

That hasn’t stopped people from signing up and blasting off. NASA’s shuttle program has ended, but private companies are readying their own space programs. A company called Planetary Resources plans to send robot astronauts to the Asteroid Belt to mine for precious metals. Another company named SpaceX is hoping to land civilian astronauts on Mars—the next human step into the solar system—in 20 years. NASA and other civilian companies are planning their own Mars missions. Maybe you’ll be a member of one? Don’t forget to bring your dog.

Our Sun: Facts

Our Sun is a 4.5 billion-year-old yellow dwarf star – a hot glowing ball of hydrogen and helium – at the center of our solar system. It’s about 93 million miles (150 million kilometers) from Earth and it’s our solar system’s only star. Without the Sun’s energy, life as we know it could not exist on our home planet.

The Sun is about 100 times wider than Earth and about 10 times wider than Jupiter, the biggest planet.

The Sun is the only star in our solar system. It is the center of our solar system, and its gravity holds the solar system together. Everything in our solar system revolves around it – the planets, asteroids, comets, and tiny bits of space debris.

Measuring a “day” on the Sun is complicated. The Sun is made of super-hot, electrically charged gas called plasma. This plasma rotates at different speeds on different parts of the Sun. At its equator, the Sun completes one rotation in 25 Earth days. At its poles, the Sun rotates once on its axis every 36 Earth days.

The part of the Sun we see from Earth – the part we call the surface – is the photosphere. The Sun doesn’t actually have a solid surface because it’s a ball of plasma.

Above the Sun’s surface are its thin chromosphere and the huge corona (crown). This is where we see features such as solar prominences, flares, and coronal mass ejections. The latter two are giant explosions of energy and particles that can reach Earth.

The Sun doesn’t have moons, but it’s orbited by eight planets, at least five dwarf planets, tens of thousands of asteroids, and perhaps three trillion comets and icy bodies.

Several spacecraft are currently investigating the Sun including Parker Solar Probe, STEREO, Solar Orbiter, SOHO, Solar Dynamics Observatory, Hinode, IRIS, and Wind.

The Sun would have been surrounded by a disk of gas and dust early in its history when the solar system was first forming 4.6 billion years ago. Some of that dust is still around today, in several dust rings that circle the Sun. They trace the orbits of planets, whose gravity tugs dust into place around the Sun. 

Nothing could live on the Sun, but its energy is vital for most life on Earth.

The temperature in the Sun's core is about 27 million degrees Fahrenheit (15 million degrees Celsius) – hot enough to sustain nuclear fusion. This creates outward pressure that supports the star's gigantic mass, keeping it from collapsing.

From our vantage point on Earth, the Sun may appear like an unchanging source of light and heat in the sky. But the Sun is a dynamic star, constantly changing and sending energy out into space. The science of studying the Sun and its influence throughout the solar system is called heliophysics.

The Sun is the largest object in our solar system. Its diameter is about 865,000 miles (1.4 million kilometers). Its gravity holds the solar system together, keeping everything from the biggest planets to the smallest bits of debris in orbit around it.

Even though the Sun is the center of our solar system and essential to our survival, it’s only an average star in terms of its size. Stars up to 100 times larger have been found. And many solar systems have more than one star. By studying our Sun, scientists can better understand the workings of distant stars.

The hottest part of the Sun is its core, where temperatures top 27 million °F (15 million °C). The part of the Sun we call its surface – the photosphere – is a relatively cool 10,000 °F (5,500 °C). In one of the Sun’s biggest mysteries, the Sun’s outer atmosphere, the corona, gets hotter the farther it stretches from the surface. The corona reaches up to 3.5 million °F (2 million °C) – much, much hotter than the photosphere.

The Sun has been called by many names. The Latin word for Sun is “sol,” which is the main adjective for all things Sun-related: solar. Helios, the Sun god in ancient Greek mythology, lends his name to many Sun-related terms as well, such as heliosphere and helioseismology.

Potential for Life

The Sun could not harbor life as we know it because of its extreme temperatures and radiation. Yet life on Earth is only possible because of the Sun’s light and energy.

Size and Distance

Our Sun is a medium-sized star with a radius of about 435,000 miles (700,000 kilometers). Many stars are much larger – but the Sun is far more massive than our home planet: it would take more than 330,000 Earths to match the mass of the Sun, and it would take 1.3 million Earths to fill the Sun's volume.

The Sun is about 93 million miles (150 million kilometers) from Earth. Its nearest stellar neighbor is the Alpha Centauri triple star system: red dwarf star Proxima Centauri is 4.24 light-years away, and Alpha Centauri A and B – two sunlike stars orbiting each other – are 4.37 light-years away. A light-year is the distance light travels in one year, which equals about 6 trillion miles (9.5 trillion kilometers).

Orbit and Rotation

The Sun is located in the Milky Way galaxy in a spiral arm called the Orion Spur that extends outward from the Sagittarius arm.

The Sun orbits the center of the Milky Way, bringing with it the planets, asteroids, comets, and other objects in our solar system. Our solar system is moving with an average velocity of 450,000 miles per hour (720,000 kilometers per hour). But even at this speed, it takes about 230 million years for the Sun to make one complete trip around the Milky Way.

The Sun rotates on its axis as it revolves around the galaxy. Its spin has a tilt of 7.25 degrees with respect to the plane of the planets’ orbits. Since the Sun is not solid, different parts rotate at different rates. At the equator, the Sun spins around once about every 25 Earth days, but at its poles, the Sun rotates once on its axis every 36 Earth days.

As a star, the Sun doesn’t have any moons, but the planets and their moons orbit the Sun.

The Sun formed about 4.6 billion years ago in a giant, spinning cloud of gas and dust called the solar nebula. As the nebula collapsed under its own gravity, it spun faster and flattened into a disk. Most of the nebula's material was pulled toward the center to form our Sun, which accounts for 99.8% of our solar system’s mass. Much of the remaining material formed the planets and other objects that now orbit the Sun. (The rest of the leftover gas and dust was blown away by the young Sun's early solar wind.)

Like all stars, our Sun will eventually run out of energy. When it starts to die, the Sun will expand into a red giant star, becoming so large that it will engulf Mercury and Venus, and possibly Earth as well. Scientists predict the Sun is a little less than halfway through its lifetime and will last another 5 billion years or so before it becomes a white dwarf.

The Sun is a huge ball of hydrogen and helium held together by its own gravity.

The Sun has several regions. The interior regions include the core, the radiative zone, and the convection zone. Moving outward – the visible surface or photosphere is next, then the chromosphere, followed by the transition zone, and then the corona – the Sun’s expansive outer atmosphere.

Once material leaves the corona at supersonic speeds, it becomes the solar wind, which forms a huge magnetic "bubble" around the Sun, called the heliosphere. The heliosphere extends beyond the orbit of the planets in our solar system. Thus, Earth exists inside the Sun’s atmosphere. Outside the heliosphere is interstellar space.

The core is the hottest part of the Sun. Nuclear reactions here – where hydrogen is fused to form helium – power the Sun’s heat and light. Temperatures top 27 million °F (15 million °C) and it’s about 86,000 miles (138,000 kilometers) thick. The density of the Sun’s core is about 150 grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm³). That is approximately 8 times the density of gold (19.3 g/cm³) or 13 times the density of lead (11.3 g/cm³).

Energy from the core is carried outward by radiation. This radiation bounces around the radiative zone, taking about 170,000 years to get from the core to the top of the convection zone. Moving outward, in the convection zone, the temperature drops below 3.5 million °F (2 million °C). Here, large bubbles of hot plasma (a soup of ionized atoms) move upward toward the photosphere, which is the layer we think of as the Sun's surface.

The Sun doesn’t have a solid surface like Earth and the other rocky planets and moons. The part of the Sun commonly called its surface is the photosphere. The word photosphere means "light sphere" – which is apt because this is the layer that emits the most visible light. It’s what we see from Earth with our eyes. (Hopefully, it goes without saying – but never look directly at the Sun without protecting your eyes.)

Although we call it the surface, the photosphere is actually the first layer of the solar atmosphere. It's about 250 miles thick, with temperatures reaching about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit (5,500 degrees Celsius). That's much cooler than the blazing core, but it's still hot enough to make carbon – like diamonds and graphite – not just melt, but boil. Most of the Sun's radiation escapes outward from the photosphere into space.

Above the photosphere is the chromosphere, the transition zone, and the corona. Not all scientists refer to the transition zone as its own region – it is simply the thin layer where the chromosphere rapidly heats and becomes the corona. The photosphere, chromosphere, and corona are all part of the Sun’s atmosphere. (The corona is sometimes casually referred to as “the Sun’s atmosphere,” but it is actually the Sun’s upper atmosphere.)

The Sun’s atmosphere is where we see features such as sunspots, coronal holes, and solar flares.

Key Sun Features

Visible light from these top regions of the Sun is usually too weak to be seen against the brighter photosphere, but during total solar eclipses, when the Moon covers the photosphere, the chromosphere looks like a fine, red rim around the Sun, while the corona forms a beautiful white crown ("corona" means crown in Latin and Spanish) with plasma streamers narrowing outward, forming shapes that look like flower petals.

In one of the Sun’s biggest mysteries, the corona is much hotter than the layers immediately below it. (Imagine walking away from a bonfire only to get warmer.) The source of coronal heating is a major unsolved puzzle in the study of the Sun.

Magnetosphere

The Sun generates magnetic fields that extend out into space to form the interplanetary magnetic field – the magnetic field that pervades our solar system. The field is carried through the solar system by the solar wind – a stream of electrically charged gas blowing outward from the Sun in all directions. The vast bubble of space dominated by the Sun’s magnetic field is called the heliosphere. Since the Sun rotates, the magnetic field spins out into a large rotating spiral, known as the Parker spiral. This spiral has a shape something like the pattern of water from a rotating garden sprinkler.

The Sun doesn't behave the same way all the time. It goes through phases of high and low activity, which make up the solar cycle. Approximately every 11 years, the Sun’s geographic poles change their magnetic polarity – that is, the north and south magnetic poles swap. During this cycle, the Sun's photosphere, chromosphere, and corona change from quiet and calm to violently active.

The height of the Sun’s activity cycle, known as solar maximum, is a time of greatly increased solar storm activity. Sunspots, eruptions called solar flares, and coronal mass ejections are common at solar maximum. The latest solar cycle – Solar Cycle 25 – started in December 2019 when solar minimum occurred, according to the Solar Cycle 25 Prediction Panel, an international group of experts co-sponsored by NASA and NOAA. Scientists now expect the Sun’s activity to ramp up toward the next predicted maximum in July 2025.

Solar activity can release huge amounts of energy and particles, some of which impact us here on Earth. Much like weather on Earth, conditions in space – known as space weather – are always changing with the Sun’s activity. "Space weather" can interfere with satellites , GPS , and radio communications . It also can cripple power grids , and corrode pipelines that carry oil and gas.

The strongest geomagnetic storm on record is the Carrington Event , named for British astronomer Richard Carrington who observed the Sept. 1, 1859, solar flare that triggered the event. Telegraph systems worldwide went haywire. Spark discharges shocked telegraph operators and set their telegraph paper on fire. Just before dawn the next day, skies all over Earth erupted in red, green, and purple auroras – the result of energy and particles from the Sun interacting with Earth’s atmosphere. Reportedly, the auroras were so brilliant that newspapers could be read as easily as in daylight. The auroras, or Northern Lights, were visible as far south as Cuba, the Bahamas, Jamaica, El Salvador, and Hawaii.

Another solar flare on March 13, 1989, caused geomagnetic storms that disrupted electric power transmission from the Hydro Québec generating station in Canada, plunging 6 million people into darkness for 9 hours. The 1989 flare also caused power surges that melted power transformers in New Jersey.

In December 2005, X-rays from a solar storm disrupted satellite-to-ground communications and Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation signals for about 10 minutes.

NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center monitors active regions on the Sun and issues watches, warnings, and alerts for hazardous space weather events .
