The Pokemon anime has been on one of the longest hiatuses that the English dub has experienced over the years, but now it is finally back with Pokemon Master Journeys The Series and the release time is nearly upon us.

Pokemon Journeys The Series debuted back in June 2020 on Netflix and was released in four batches of 12 episodes each every three months until the last batch back in March 2021.

As the series has always done, each season of episodes is given a new title, with each group of series featuring a connected name. This has led to the jump from Pokemon Journeys The Series to the new season Pokemon Master Journeys The Series .

Pokemon Master Journeys The Series Release Time And How To Watch

Pokemon Master Journeys The Series is the 23rd season of the Pokemon anime and is finally making its English dub debut this week. The series to set to release this Friday, September 9.

In case you are out of the loop and haven't watched the Pokemon anime in a few years, you won't find new episodes on channels like Cartoon Network or Disney XD. Instead, Pokemon Master Journeys The Series will be releasing exclusively on Netflix just like its predecessor.

Netflix is pretty standard with their usual release time, which means Pokemon Master Journeys The Series's first batch of episodes should be available starting at 12 am PT/3 am ET/7 am GMT/8 am BST/9 am CEST/4 pm JST.

How Many Episodes Are Releasing?

While we do not know how many total episodes the season will have in the end, it appears Netflix is going with the same strategy as with Pokemon Journeys when it comes to the number of episodes.

When Pokemon Master Journeys The Series hits Netflix this Friday, it will include the first 12 episodes of the season. It worked out that there were exactly 48 episodes last season to where it evened out when split up into four batches, so we'll see if that stays the same this season.

When Will The Next Batch Of Episodes Release?

That is a question we do not have an official answer to and probably won't for a month or two. However, based on the previous season's release schedule on Netflix, I would bet we'll probably see an every three months release schedule again more than likely for Pokemon Master Journeys The Series .

Netflix Picks Up ‘Pokemon Master Journeys’; Starts in September 2021

Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series

Netflix US is set to receive the brand new Pokémon Master Journeys which effectively serves as season 24 of the Pokémon animated series. The first batch of new episodes from the season are set to touch down on September 10th, 2021. Other regions are expected to follow later.  

Starting last year, Netflix became the exclusive home to new seasons of the Pokemon animated series which has been running since 1997.

For fans of the show, you’ll know Netflix is criminally late in this instance in getting new episodes. The 24th season actually began airing on TV Tokyo back in December 2020 with episodes still airing throughout 2021 and expected to end by the end of July 2021. Season 24 also features an hour-long special.

Here’s what you can expect from the new season:

“It’s a big, big world, but you know where to find Ash and Goh-battling and catching Pokémon from Kanto to Galar! With Pikachu, Cinderace, and their other Pokémon beside them, our heroes continue to travel all over the world to research Pokémon for Cerise Laboratory. Along the way, Ash climbs higher in the World Coronation Series rankings, and Goh adds more Pokémon to his Pokédex in his quest to catch Mew.”

As we mentioned episodes 1 through 12 are hitting on September 10th, 2021. New batches will hit every three months meaning we’d expect part 2 to arrive in December 2021, part 3 in March 2022, and part 4 in the summer of 2022. The exact same release pattern occurred with Pokémon Journeys: The Series too with part 1 arriving in June 2020, part 2 in September 2020, part 3 in December 2020 , part 4 in March 2021, and the final part in June 2021 .

Other Netflix regions may get Pokemon Master Journeys but not until the middle of next year. Netflix UK, Canada, and other regions only got season 23 of the show added on July 1st, 2021 .

Beyond the main series, Netflix also acquired Mewtwo Strikes Back-Evolution for release back in February 2020 .

Netflix US also continues to stream Pokémon The Series: Indigo League , Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us , Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! and Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon . Pokémon the Series: XYZ and Pokémon: XY departed in April 2019 .

In Part 1, Ash and Goh had a blast as research fellows for the Cerise Laboratory in Vermilion City, saved a Legendary Pokémon from Pokémon hunters, trained at the Castle of Chivalry with Wikstrom, and so much more. What can audiences expect from  Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series  Part 3? In such a vibrant world where every turn holds a promise of more adventure, waiting can be hard. In order to satiate this wait for more  Pokémon Master Journeys  episodes, here is everything that is known about Part 3 so far.

Since Ash Ketchum finally won a Pokémon league in Alola after failing time and time again, Pokémon Journeys and subsequently Pokémon Master Journeys switched up the classic series formula. Instead of having Ash earn gym badges in one Pokémon region to pursue his familiar goal of winning a league championship, he is competing in a tournament to determine the strongest Pokémon trainer in the world. The World Coronation Series pits Ash against trainers of a similar calibre in the same class in order to slowly raise his rank. By raising his rank, Ash can enter stronger classes, challenge tougher opponents, and ultimately compete in an elite tournament with the best of the best.

On his quest to become the best, Ash travels with young trainer Goh . Goh, a character with ambitious dreams of his own, has rightfully earned his place as Ash's companion and co-protagonist throughout the series' run. So far, the two have helped each other time and time again. Part 3 is set up for this partnership to continue in the near future.

Pokémon Master Journeys Part 3 Is Coming

When Netflix confirmed its plans to release Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series on its platform, the streaming service decided to do so in the same format as  Pokémon  Journeys: The Series . Rather than choosing to release single episodes on a weekly basis or the entire season at once, Netflix opted to publish small batches of episodes throughout the years. Since Pokémon Master Journeys is confirmed to have at least 46 episodes, Netflix will be releasing a Part 3 to further close the 19 episode gap.

Pokémon Master Journeys Part 3 Story & Cast

Fans can expect to see the return of Ash and Goh as they resume their journey together to assist the Cerise Laboratory in its research while pursuing their individual goals. In Part 2, Ash officially reached the Ultra Class after defeating Iris and gaining rank 99 in the World Coronation Series. This accomplishment brought him one step closer to achieving his goal of gaining a rank 8 or higher, joining the Master Class, and participating in a tournament to challenge the previous World Champion Leon. Meanwhile, Goh worked on achieving his primary goal of catching every Pokémon by acquiring the likes of Absol, Galarian Stunfisk, and Galinks. However, he made major progress on his ultimate goal of catching the legendary Pokémon Mew by joining Project Mew, a project that shares Goh's desire to find this mystical Pokémon. Part 3 will pick up right where Part 2 left off while continuing the season's trend of revisiting old friends and environments on the way.

Pokémon Master Journeys Part 3 Release Date

Though Netflix has yet to confirm a Pokémon Master Journeys Part 3 release date, fans won't have to wait too long. Based on Netflix's goal to release a batch of episodes every quarter and the four-month gap between the first two parts, Part 3 is expected to come out sometime in mid-late spring. As much as nobody enjoys waiting, Part 3 is certainly shaping up to be worth it.
