Post Malone’s If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying Asian tour dates released

The Live Nation tour stops in Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong & Tokyo

LiFTED | Marcus Aurelius | 3 Jul 2023

At first, Post Malone seemed like a one-hit wonder when he stepped on the scene with ‘White Iverson’ while sporting cornrows in the video. Then, he hit the top of the charts with the graduate anthem ‘Congratulations’ with Quavo in 2018. From there, Posty has been making a lot of songs that sound a lot alike, but he brings a much-needed Emo-like feel to his Hip Hop. In September, Post Malone will be taking his Live Nation If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying tour to Asia with stops in Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Tokyo from September 14 to September 27. Fans can expect an intimate show on a big stage as he performs all his biggest hits like ‘Rock Star,’ ‘I Fall Apart,’ Psycho,’ ‘Better Now,’ ‘Sunflower,’ and more.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Live Nation Taiwan (@livenationtw)

At a previous slot at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan in 2018, Post had a commanding presence on the stage as a solo act. He went back and forth between his biggest Hip Hop numbers and songs that he played on the guitar. At one point, a fan threw a shoe on the stage. For some performers, this would be the end of the show. But Post, in his jovial way, grabbed the show, filled it with a beer, downed it, whipped the shoe into the crowd, and kept going. It was a highlight of Fuji Rock and shows just what kind of showman Post Malone really is.

Malaysians aren’t saying “Congratulations” after Post Malone announces 2023 SEA Tour

Thermesh Velusamy

We have no idea what’s it about the year 2023 and 2024 but Coldplay, Beyonce, Taylor Swift and multiple international artistes are stopping by our humble little sub-continent. We’re not complaining BUT let’s just say it hasn’t been kind on our bank accounts. After Taylor Swift skipped Malaysia on her tour, the next artist to do so is rapper-singer, Post Malone . On 30 June 2023, Live Nation released the details of the artiste’s 2023 tour which comprised Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Post Malone - Concert dates

To our Singaporean friends, before raging, fret not! Post Malone will be stopping by Singapore for the 2023 F1 Singapore Grand Prix set to happen from 15 to 17 September 2023 . Alongside Post Malone, Jackson Wang, Robbie Williams, NIKI, Rich Brian and Warren Hue are also part of the impressive lineup.

Post Malone Songwriter Hall of Fame

While it’s understandable for Malaysians to feel disappointed by the exclusions, especially after the Coldplay controversy, the general public is well aware of the reasons why these artists are not visiting our country.

Despite the setback, music lovers in Malaysia can still enjoy the anticipation and excitement generated by the international music scene, even if it means traveling to neighbouring countries to catch their favourite artists in action.

In the end, the anticipation and joy brought by these artists’ visits outweigh the temporary disappointment, reminding us of the power and universality of music that transcends borders and connects people across the sub-continent.

So, which artist will you be seeing this year?

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is the leading individual nominee for the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards , with six nods. She is followed on Nick’s slime-coated leaderboard by Beyoncé , Miley Cyrus , Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Timberlake , with four nods each.

Trending on Billboard

8 best moments from the 2023 kids’ choice awards: snubs surprises slime.

Swift’s nominations are for favorite female artist, favorite album ( The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology ), favorite global music star, favorite ticket of the year (Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour) and two nominations for favorite music collaboration (for “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, and the “Karma” remix with Ice Spice.)

Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is nominated too, for favorite male sports star.

Barbie also scored heavily in the nominations, with eight total nods. The box-office juggernaut has four nods in film categories (favorite movie, favorite movie actor for Ryan Gosling and favorite movie actress for both Margot Robbie and America Ferrera) and four in music categories (favorite album, favorite song for both Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night” and Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” and favorite music collaboration for Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s “Barbie World” with Aqua).

Women have dominated the pop scene in recent years, so it is fitting that they dominate the nominations in such gender-neutral categories as favorite album, favorite song, favorite ticket (tour) of the year and favorite global music star.

The competition is fierce for favorite female artist. Five of the eight nominees are past category champs – Grande (a five-time winner), Selena Gomez (a four-time winner), Cyrus and Swift (both two-time winners), Beyoncé (a one-time winner) – and three artists looking for their first wins in the category: Eilish, Cardi B and Rodrigo.

Timberlake received three music nominations – favorite male artist (a category he won in 2007 and 2014), favorite song for “Selfish” and, with *NSYNC, favorite music group (a category the boy band won in 1999). On the film side, he is nominated for favorite male voice from an animated movie for Trolls Band Together.

Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024  will be simulcast live on the East Coast on Saturday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, TV Land, CMT and MTV2.   The show will be hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke). This marks the first time that the show has been hosted by virtual characters.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants , which first aired on Nickelodeon as a sneak peek after the Kids’ Choice Awards on May 1, 1999, and officially premiered on July 17 of that year. The 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards will re-create the undersea home of Bikini Bottom, the setting of SpongeBob SquarePants .

The Kids’ Choice Awards, complete with green slime and Nick’s signature orange blimp award, has long been a top attraction for young viewers. (O.G. fans of the show who were, say, 8 when the show debuted in 1987 are now 45. Time marches on, even when you’re being slimed.)

Beginning today, fans in the U.S. can cast their votes across 33 categories on the official Kids’ Choice Awards website, KidsChoiceAwards.com . International markets will also open voting today, including additional regional categories.

Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 is produced by Nickelodeon Productions and overseen by: Ashley Kaplan, executive vice president, Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Unscripted & Digital Franchise Studio; Paul J Medford, vice president, unscripted current series; Luke Wahl, vice president, unscripted creative; Jennifer Bryson, vice president, production, tentpoles, events & music & specials; and Ellen Rydzewski, senior vice president, celebrity, events & talent relations. Guy Carrington & Kevin Hermanson of Done and Dusted serve as executive producers, with Rob Paine serving as co-executive producer. The show is directed by James Merryman.

Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier was nominated for Best Male TV Star. At the same time, Filipino-American TikTok creator Bella Poarch is a nominee under the Favorite Social Media Star category.

The Nickelodeon-helmed awards ceremony, best known for pouring its signature green slime on the winners, will be held on July 13 at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California. Winners will be decided through votes on its official site.

Salman Rushdie will be the center of a new documentary from Alex Gibney , the Oscar-winning director behind “Taxi to the Dark Side” snd “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.” Tentatively titled “Knife,” the docu is inspired by Rushdie’s memoir “Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder,” which was published in April.

Gibney’s “Knife” will explore Rushdie’s recovery “in the broadest sense,” according to a press release. Through Rushdie’s wife Rachel Eliza Griffiths’ personal footage, which has never been seen by the public, the doc will follow the writer during not only his physical recovery but also the recovery of his spirit and hope for the future. In “Knife”, Rushdie writes “it’s a story in which hatred — the knife as a metaphor of hate — is answered, and finally overcome, by love.”

“I’m delighted we have Alex working with us on this film,” says Rushdie. “We have long admired his brilliant work, from “Taxi to the Dark Side” and “Going Clear” to his recent portrait of Paul Simon. There couldn’t be a better person for the job.”

To capture Rushdie’s life, Gibney will move between Griffith’s raw, intimate footage, movie clips, excerpts from Rushdie’s books, new interviews, and archival images, which will include the fatwa called on Rushdie by the Ayatollah Khomenei in 1989 for his book, “The Satanic Verses.”

Gibney recently began production on “Knife.” The film, being produced by Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions, does not yet have a distributor.

Gibney’s most recent doc “In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon,” debuted on MGM+ on March 17. In October 2023 Universal Pictures Content Group acquired international rights to the director’s upcoming doc “Musk” about entrepreneur and businessman Elon Musk. HBO Documentary Films will release “Musk” in North America.
