Fischer Magnetic Tour compared to M Pro #1 98?

Since there is not a demo available for the Fischer Magnetic Tour ( http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCFISCHER-FMTSL.html ), can anyone compare it to the Fischer M Pro Number One 98 ( http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCFISCHER-MP198S.html )? I figure if someone can compare the two then maybe eventually I'll demo the M Pro #1 98 and know what the difference in the two is for comparison. Thanks. TripleB

See if this helps! Well, I do love Fischer frames. I have hit with the original MS Pro #1 and also the M Tour 100 light. I loved both of these frames. The feel is different between the two. The MS Pro felt a few points more flexable than the tour to me. The only thing I can come up with is that the MS Pro has fiberglass and the tour does not. Also the beam is thicker on the tour as well as head size being slightly larger. I really liked the tour because I never have played with a frame that was so pleasing to hit a ball with. I have hit with nearly every frame manufacturer. I found myself wanting more weight out of the tour light however. If you buy the tour I would buy the heavier of the two which is the 11.7 ounce mag tour. Did this frame play like the MS Pro #1? No. I loved the MS Pro. But I liked the tour even better. I played some excellent matches with this tour frame. I was trading hard strokes with those who were 5.0-5.5 players and I was holding my own with them. I just wasn't converting deuce points. I can't give you specifics about the frames. But here are the most important points about a frame to remember: How well does a frame absorb shock? How does the swingweight feel in your hand? How low can you string the frame and still maintain maximum control? Can you continue to play with the frame for long, long periods of time with out wear to your arm? And the most important is...Does the frame feel good? Feel, that is what the game of tennis all about. How can you feel the ball better and what can you do with the ball? With that being said Fischer frames meet all the above listed criteria for me. My next frame will be the M Comp 95. -Bear

Are you back on the cout, et? i love Fischers, too! I read you sig and hope that you have recovered and are playing again! I had become confined to a wheelchair, ( I really HATE that word, confined!) in 2000, and only since last May,, have I decided to get back into the gae! I started teaching kids in my neighborhood, how to play and gave most of them their 1st racquets, too! Call it a "message for God, or a small stroke (haha) but one day it just came to me.."I should get some cheap racquets on **** and show these kids how to have FUN!" i just got a Fischer Mag Tour UL from an **** seller, for $16.50 and he also included a Head Liquidmetal 5, for FREE! I have afischer M-Pro 98 334 gm version, which is not powerfull enough for me now, since I use a sports w/c and have found that bigger frames are better, now. I stll like to BELT IT, but you can generate as much "easy power" sitting down. I HAVE been finding other solutions, too. Check out my other posts, especially the "Frankenstring" one! hope you are back to participating in the sport we all love!

I currently have several Pro No 1 Magnetic Speed 98's in SL, UL and X-UL; Pro 98 Ceramic Air Carbon (the last ceramic, 330g with the crazy 55-57 recommended tension range); A couple of Pro No 1 Magnetic Speed 105 SL's I have been thinking about getting the Tour or Tour Extreme -- the older ones, black and yellow head and silver on both sides of the throat. I also have several Pacific's which are also terrific racquets. Click to expand...

Hope this helps: Pacific pallets = Fischer no tolerance pallets. Fischer no tol pallets are different from Fischer magnetic pallets. But, all fischer/pacific pallets can be use in any fischer/pacific racquet with pallet system. The only difference is that pacific pallets and the fischer no tol pallets have the butt cap integrated.

I've brought the weight up on all my racquets, gradually adding weight until I find the RIGHT weight for more power and spin. I decided that 360 grams makes them feel just right. I had not played for 20 years and now I use a wheelchair, so when I first tried a new, lighter racquet, the Wilson K-Bold at 9.7 oz, it felt great when hitting balls against a wall, but when I went to a court to practice my serve, I had so little power, I thought that my serves would now be little more than spiny, looping shots until I added weight to it, after trying an older Gamma Accura 25, that came in at 340 grams. Even with the old strings that were worn out and had little snap left in them, it provided the weight I needed to make a decent serve that had the power and spin that was missing from the other ones. Now I am experimenting with it, by adding 26 grams, with 6 grams of that at the 11:00 and 2:00 positions, the rest in the butt-cap, to make it a little head-light. I will see how it feels this weekend, when hit with some friends I have, that I'm also helping to get their shots under control, so we cand later try to play some mixed dubs with. I'm planning on restringing the Fischer M-Tour with a "Frankensring setup", using a hybrid string-bed mixing Pro'sPro Vendetta cross's and Gamma syn-guy for the mains at very low tensions to provide more spin and power, that worked well on my Wilson K-Bold. I love experimenting with the racquets I get and eventually give away, (now at 50, since May '12) to kids I am coaching, as well as a few parents, too. Right now I'm in LOVE with the Prince Air Llight 118" that came with a bed of Prince B7W twist poly. The former owner didn't play with it more than a few times, by looking at the lack of notching on the strings. I also have a Prince 03 Speed Zone 118", that came with Babolat RPM-Blast poly that is SO NOTCHED in some places that there is MORE NOTCH than STRING! I don't hit with it, myself now, understanding what a bed of dead poly could do to my arm.

  • Who are the Volga Germans?
  • Settlements along the Volga

Mapping information provided by Sandy Payne germansfromrussiasettlementlocations.org

Drawing of Saratov in 1711 - approximately 50 years before the arrival of the Volga German immigrants. Source: Steve Schreiber.

Saratov was home to both a Lutheran parish and a Roman Catholic parish which served the ethnic Germans living in this city.

CONGREGATIONS

St. Clement Catholic Church

St. John Lutheran Church

St. Mary Lutheran Church

The Lutheran parish in Saratov was officially organized in 1793, although Pastor Ahlbaum was active in the city before then.

The Pope established the Diocese of Tiraspol, headquartered in Saratov on 3 July 1848. During its existence, there were five bishops:

Ferdinand Helanus Kahn (1850-1864) Franz Xavier Zottmann  (1872-1888) Anton Johann Zerr  (1889-1902) Eduard von der Ropp (1902-1903) Joseph Aloysius Kessler  (1904-1930)

This diocese went inactive in 1930 with the resignation of Bishop Kessler and officially vacant in 1933 when he died. It was formally "surpressed" in 2002 when the new Diocese of St. Clement in Saratov was established.

The Catholic parishners of Saratov built a wooden church which was consecrated in 1805. This building was used until 1880 when a new brick building was erected. The architect was M. N. Grudistova, and the new building was consecrated to St. Clement (St. Klemens in German) when it was completed in 1881. Today the structure serves as a movie theatre called "Pioneer."

In the post-Soviet era, the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 2001 in Saratov. It is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria (ELCI). There is a chapel in Saratov, and the pastor serving there is Olav Panchu.

There were three frontier garrisons founded to protect merchant ships traveling on the Volga River: Saratov (1584), Samara (1586), and Tsaritsyn (1589). Over the next century, the settlements were rebuilt on first one side of the Volga and then the other following a series of natural disasters.  The 1670 peasant revolt led by Stepan Razin also thwarted development of these cities.

Saratov was the first point of arrival for the German colonists and the location of the Kontora (Office of Immigrant Oversite) following the establishment of the colonies in the 1760's. From its beginning as a provincial outpost, Saratov grew to become a prosperous city and served as the center of industry for the Volga German colonists.

My trip to Pro-M Racing

proffi m tour (ph9531)

  • Add to quote

First off let me state that I have no affiliation with Pro-M Racing or PMAS. I currently have a PMAS meter (Pro-tube 3") calibrated for 60lbs (blow thru) and I have an old Best Products 75mm bullet calibrated for 42lbs (blow thru) that I no longer use. I called Chris Richards at Pro-M Racing because I'm having some minor driveability issues with my car and I thought my problems were associated with my meter. After a 20 minute conversation over the phone, Chris asssured me my problems were NOT with my PMAS meter but with my chip. During our conversation Chris invited me up to his shop and today (10/25/07) I decided to go and have both my meters re-flowed. My PMAS meter was dead on and Chris recommended that I leave it alone but he printed up a transfer function sheet (FREE of charge) because I lost my original one. My old Best Products meter was next and it was calibrated a little lean but the driveability when I used that meter was great (no issues). Chris said the meter would be fine providing the tuner entered in the transfer function values to the chip (have no idea if my tuner did or didn't). But I had no driveability issues and the car made great power when I use to use it. I had Chris recalibrate my old Best Products from 42's to 60's. The results were amazing and the % error and % noise were better than my PMAS meter. Now I was thinking that the newly calibrated Bullet had to be better than my PMAS meter but Chris told me either meter will work fine with my application as long as the tuner enters the data for the transfer function and actual volts into the computer/chip. Chris did take the time to explain a few things to me about the whole flowing a meter, transfer functions and reading those flow sheets that come with your mass air meter when you first buy one. About 50% of the stuff went in one ear and came out the other but Chris was very patient and explained certain things a few times...thanks Chris. In closing the customer service that Chris provided today was top notch, I couldn't expect anything more. The freebies were awesome and I was amazed that Chris spoke very highly of my PMAS meter. If you have questions concerning mass air meter contact Chris. I'm sure you will be impressed with the customer service, knowledge or if you're in the area stop by. Kuddos to PMAS for selling me a very accurate meter and if you ever need a mass air meter, we now have two choices instead of one. See ya Michael Plummer

Thats awesome. Good customer service is always awesome. Makes you want to do more business with them. Well that info is good to know as i've already purchased a PMAS meter!

good to hear...i also go great service from the new pro-m racing. They were more than willing to not only answer my questions about my meter and calibration...but he also gave me some pointers on where to go with my tune/tuning! Excellent experience!

Dynastar M Pro 99 2023-24

The Dynastar M Pro 99 is a technical freeride ski aimed at expert skiers that spend most of their time off-piste but like a solid ride on the groomers for the way home too.

Dynastar M Pro 99

Dynastar’s M Pro range has four models with the 99 version hitting the sweet spot for freeride skiers looking for a versatile ride across the whole mountain, but with a tilt towards off-piste terrain the majority of the time. It’s a powerful ski aimed at experts that can handle all terrain, at all speeds and can also get the most out of an edge on hardpack snow.

The hybrid wood core combines with a titanal frame that offers stability, edge control and responsiveness, all with a lightweight feel for what is a traditional lift-serviced freeride ski. Tourers should look towards the M Tour range, specifically the 99 to compare with the M Pro.

Like many Dynastar freeride skis over the last few years, turning veers on the understeering side, meaning that pressure needs to be applied progressively and actively to steer the skis through the turn. They don’t whip around, but that suits many skiers, especially aggressive hard chargers that apply a lot of power through each turn at higher speeds.

What the M Pro 99 offers though, is a solid and responsive edge change on a huge variety of snow and terrain conditions. The grip on hardpack for a 99mm underfoot ski is second to none and when ramped up to higher speeds on groomed runs, they feel stable and smooth.

Yes in chopped up terrain you need to be confident and technically able to carry off your turns. But if you are, they will give back everything you need, with Dynastar’s directional rocker helping to keep things afloat.

The M Pro 99 isn’t for skiers that are just starting out in off-piste terrain, but for expert, technical, aggressive freeride skiers that want a versatile ski for the whole mountain, it’s a winner.
