Great price and fantastic service.

Stewart found a good price for an around the world airfare that changed a couple of cities to get a better price for me.Our round the world business class airfare was cheaper than a return business airfare with the major airlines to Europe. Stewart and Mark got back to me multiple times during the day each day we were setting this route up.My trip was sorted and paid for within 5 days.Their service is impeccable.

First Class Service

Our consultant, Sheldon, provided first class service and navigated us through a complex RTW booking, making sure that we got the best deal and best connections possible. A multi-city/multi-continent trip has too many complexities to DIY!

I have used Roundabout travel twice now and recommended to a number of friends. Family RTW itinerary through Europe planned perfectly!

Madeleine organised our whole trip for our family of 8 to Europe with a RTW flight and everything was planned out so well! Lucky with no delays and perfect travel. Dani Small was unbelievably responsive and managed to get our trip details and flights locked in within 24 hours once we had settled on a final itinerary. We ended up paying a little over $1000 extra to turn a trip to Europe and back from just that - into a multi stop extravaganza with stops in Asia, Europe, Turkey and Canada.

Great experience with Roundabout Travel

What made the experience with RoundAbout Travel great was the quick turnaround and detailed reponses I received from the consultant(s) I was dealing with. Also super friendly and helpful. My only negative was the very short period of time that I had to review the detailed itinerary before making payment, but that may have been due to an airline requirement, rather than the travel agent.

Our consultant , Joe, was very reassuring about our flight choices and spent time talking to us on the phone about the options and tweaking the flights to ensure that we got the cheapest deal he could for us on a quite complicated itinerary. Positive experience: I booked some flights with RoundAbout earlier this year for a non standard mulit-stopover around the world. The online sites and search engines failed me. Tim found a great route with good carriers and importantly a good price. . No problem recommending them.

Fantastic experience: When you find a good travel agent, you need to keep them and tell others about them. The patience and diligence shown by Roundabout Travel is first class. The complexity involved in making changes, or having them thrust upon you by airline cancellations, makes a good travel agent indispensable. Fantastic experience: Having not seen our parents in almost 3 years due to the pandemic/lockdowns, my partner and I were very excited to finally be able to plan a trip to visit them this year around our work commitments. Given that his are in Canada, and mine are in Europe, we thought we'd combine the trips into one big adventure, to take advantage of the fact that we would already be so far away from Australia. What we didn't expect, was how complicated it would be to structure our flights between these 3 places. With our departure date only being a few months away, we were blown away at how difficult it was to find flight combinations that made sense, and didn't cost more than 2 direct return flights from Australia! Flying is the best way to cover Australia’s large distances in a short time. Australia’s domestic airlines – including Qantas, Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Rex – serve all state capital cities and many regional cities, making it an easy way to travel between  Australia's iconic destinations . Competition between domestic airlines means that some great value fares are available, especially if you book in advance.

Australia has a vast network of well-maintained roads and some of the most beautiful  road trips  in the world. When travelling long distances, you'll find rest stops and service stations at regular intervals. 

You’ll find car rental companies at major airports and central city locations; so hire a car, 4WD or caravan and hit the highway.

Take the pressure off travelling around the city by utilising public transport and hop-on hop-off tourist buses. Services are inexpensive (children generally pay a concession fee) and will take you to all the major attractions without the hassle of finding parking. Some services, such as Melbourne’s City Circle Tram, are completely free! In Sydney, there are caps to weekly transport rates, so you will never pay more than the maximum weekly fare, regardless of how often you use the transport network. Most buses, metros, trains and trams can accommodate prams and other access requirements, making them a great option for getting around.

Coach travel in Australia is comfortable, efficient and reasonably priced. Australia’s national coach operator,  Greyhound , offers a range of travel passes.

There are spectacular rail journeys in Australia, such as  The Ghan  and  Indian Pacific , which sweep across the continent, offering comfort and a sense of nostalgic romance. The Indian Pacific travels between Sydney and Perth, stopping at Broken Hill, Adelaide and Kalgoorlie; the legendary Ghan travels between Adelaide and Darwin, taking in Australia’s Red Centre and the tropical Top End.

The Spirit of Tasmania operates a nightly passenger and vehicle ferry service between Geelong, Victoria's second-largest city, and Devonport in Tasmania with extra services during peak periods. SeaLink ferries connect Cape Jervis in South Australia (approximately 108 kilometres/67 miles south of Adelaide) and Kangaroo Island several times a day. There are also ferry services in our capital cities, connecting suburbs around Sydney Harbour, on the Swan River in Perth and on the Brisbane River.

Australia's cities and towns are great for exploring on foot, with well maintained footpaths and scenic walkways that will take you through parklands, along coastal cliffs and through urban laneways.

You can also tackle some of the longest tracks and trails in the world here – impressive journeys of a thousand kilometres (620 miles) or more that can take several weeks to complete. From the Overland Track through Tasmania's World Heritage-listed wilderness to the Larapinta Trail across the West MacDonnell Ranges in the Northern Territory, these hikes let you discover spectacular landscapes while stretching your legs.

Woman says she would have had to pay $8,000 to claim free cruise she won

AUSTRALIA (WKRC) - A woman said she would have had to pay $8,000 on flights to claim a free cruise she won.

According to Business Insider, an Australian woman said she and her partner would have had to pay $8,000 in total for flights to claim a Virgin Voyages cruise she won. Per the outlet, the unexpected expense was due to a change in the ship's itinerary.

The woman, who was simply identified as "Morgan" spoke with Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in an interview and said the flights would have cost more than the value of the adults-only cruise.

"We definitely don't love Virgin at the moment," Morgan told ABC. "I think we feel pretty used to be honest."

Per Business Insider, the woman was on a Virgin Airlines flight from Melbourne to Tasmania in November when passengers were informed they had won a free cruise.

A video was shared to Virgin Voyages' official Instagram account , in which a flight attendant called Virgin founder Richard Branson to make the announcement. Per ABC, Morgan and her partner used the prize to book a cruise out of Brisbane, Australia, but in February, they were informed that all Virgin's Australian cruises had been cancelled due to the ongoing tensions in the Red Sea.

The couple contacted Virgin and were told the only way they could still redeem the prize was to book a cruise out of Europe or the Caribbean. Morgan did research and found that two roundtrip flights to the Caribbean would cost them around $8,000, which was more than the $7,000 value of the original prize, per ABC.

"We were genuinely shocked, we thought Virgin would provide us with an alternative prize like a flight credit or they would allow us to rebook on a later season," Morgan told ABC. "They sort of gave up on us, like 'you're a bit of a problem now'.

"We apologize to our winners who can no longer redeem their prize due to the cancellation of Virgin Voyages' Australian and New Zealand cruises amid the conflict in the Red Sea," a Virgin spokesperson said in a statement obtained by Business Insider.

The company added that "safety is always our number-one priority," adding that it had offered all affected individuals complimentary cruises on other international sailings.

A marketing lecturer at the University of Tasmania told ABC that the move could damage Virgin's brand, adding that it could make the situation right by "covering the cost of flights to Europe of the Caribbean."
