The Grammy-nominated rock groups announced more than 20 upcoming shows Thursday — including one at Wrigley Field in Chicago. They will kick off their 2024 circuit on July 6 with a concert at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Joining the bands for various shows will be the Steve Miller Band, Heart and Cheap Trick.

The Def Leppard-Journey tour is currently set to end Sept. 8 at Denver’s Coors Field. It is unclear whether the bands will add additional tour dates.

“We shall hit the boards running with a brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history,” Def Leppard lead vocalist Joe Elliott said in a statement posted to the Journey website. “We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves … so, wanna join us!??! … See you in the summer!”

Rock fans can register for ticket pre-sale online . Tickets will go on pre-sale Tuesday at 12 p.m. CT. General tickets will go on sale Dec. 15.

“Pour Some Sugar on Me” band Def Leppard — also composed of bass player Rick Savage, drummer Rick Allen, and guitarists Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell — has spent a majority of 2023 on the road with its world tour. This year, the band performed in South America, across Europe, Asia and even a handful of shows in the United States. Mötley Crüe also performed multiple shows with Def Leppard, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.

Even before the joint summer tour kicks off next year, Journey will play a tour of its own across the United States. In September, the “Don’t Stop Believin'” group, also a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, announced its 50th anniversary tour. Starting Feb. 9, 2024, Journey will celebrate its milestone year across the country. They will be joined by “Africa” band Toto.

“We are thrilled to be back on the road in 2024 with so many good friends as part of this tour. No matter which city you come to this will be an amazing night of music!” Journey said in a news release.

Def Leppard and Journey Announce Co-Headlining 2024 Tour with Support from Cheap Trick, Heart and Steve Miller Band

The rock legends are teaming up for a summer 2024 North American tour

Ross Halfin

Fans are in for a rock of ages next summer.

On Thursday, rock legends Def Leppard and Journey announced they’re hitting the road on a co-headlining stadium tour. The ‘80s favorites, who previously teamed up on a 2018 joint tour, will be setting out across North America in summer 2024 — and they’re making it a show classic rock fans will remember by bringing along fellow icons Cheap Trick , Heart and Steve Miller Band on select dates.

The 23-city tour begins on July 6 in St. Louis, Missouri and continues through Sept. 8 when they wrap up in Denver, Colorado. Along the way, the two Rock and Hall of Fame inductees will bring their show to stadiums in major cities like Chicago, Nashville, Boston, Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more.

Cheap Trick will help kick off and close out the tour, while Steve Miller Band will play the majority of shows and Heart will join them on three dates.

The tour comes after the “Pour Some Sugar on Me” band played another nostalgic tour throughout 2023 with fellow heavy metal group Mötley Crüe .

While the band featuring frontman Joe Elliott , drummer Rick Allen, guitarist Vivian Campbell, guitarist Phil Collen and bassist Rick Savage and is set to play their fan-favorite hits, their recent run of shows follows the 2022 release of their 12th studio album Diamond Star Halos .

As for the “Don’t Stop Believin’” group, they’ll join up with Def Leppard after playing their Freedom Tour , which celebrates their 50th anniversary as a band and the recent release of 2022’s Freedom . The six-piece made up of keyboardist Jonathan Cain, drummer Deen Castronovo, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, bassist Todd Jensen, guitarist Neal Schon, vocalist Arnel Pineda first kicked off the Freedom Tour back in 2022 and they'll play its last leg across North America in 2024 from February to late April.

The Def Leppard frontman, 64, shared a statement in a press release about the upcoming tour. “DEF LEPPARD and JOURNEY will be reuniting and hitting the road together for the Summer Stadium Tour with Steve Miller, Cheap Trick & Heart on select shows, which makes for an amazing night of music !”

The “Love Bites” singer continued, “Having just completed a sensational 18 month run promoting our Diamond Star Halos album, we shall hit the boards running with a brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history.  We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves … so, wanna join us !??! … See you in the summer !”

Journey also shared a joint statement about the 2024 shows. “We are thrilled to be back on the road in 2024 with so many good friends as part of this tour. No matter which city you come to this will be an amazing night of music!” the rockers said.

Carl Radke on His Tumultuous Journey Through ‘Summer House’

From getting sober, grieving the loss of his brother and calling off his engagement, Radke has let viewers in on the most intimate moments of his life.

A man in a white tank top is behind the steering wheel in a car. Another man, in a backward baseball cap, is in the back seat playfully sticking his tongue out and holding a red Solo cup.

By Shivani Gonzalez

The first time Carl Radke appeared on television screens was during an episode of “Vanderpump Rules” that was actually a backdoor pilot for a new Bravo show, “Summer House.”

In the episode, Radke is 29, working in New York City and drinking copiously on the weekends in a Hamptons share house with his friends Kyle Cooke, Lindsay Hubbard and a few others.

The spinoff became a Bravo phenomenon all its own, one that has now spanned eight seasons, with Radke one of the few constants as the cast around him changed. Viewers have seen his tumultuous 30s play out onscreen: He has been in messy relationships, confronted his drinking and gotten sober, mourned the death of his brother and, in the Season 8 finale, called off his engagement.

Over coffee in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where at 6 feet 5 inches tall Radke was certainly the tallest person in the room, he imagined his life if it hadn’t been spent in front of cameras for the past several years. “I feel like I would probably be married and have a family, but living a very, like, a lower key life,” he said, before going through some of the moments that have defined his time on “Summer House” so far.

The early seasons: drinking, drinking, more drinking

Though many Bravo reality shows involved quite a bit of drinking (look no further than early seasons of “Vanderpump Rules”), Radke, Cooke and Hubbard were known to make others look like lightweights.

“There are weekends during Seasons 1 and 2 where they completely don’t show because we were so drunk,” Radke said. One specific weekend sticks out, he added, when the friends headed to an oyster farm but viewers never saw it.

“We were so drunk at the oyster farm, there was no story. Nothing was being really moved along. And just us shucking oysters and drunkenly saying stupid things.”

Bravo is currently managing a string of lawsuits , some of which include claims that producers encouraged an environment of heavy drinking. One “Real Housewives of New Jersey” cast member said that producers would provide alcohol, which sometimes led to extreme drunkenness. Another housewife, this one from the cast of “Real Housewives of New York City,” claimed that despite her being sober, producers continued to encourage her to drink.

Radke tells of a different experience.

“With the volume of drinking, only we decided to do that,” he said. It became such a part of their identity that Cooke started Loverboy, a business selling spiked iced tea, with Radke as a vice president of sales. “We loved to party. I’m telling you, they took drinks out of our hands.”

The middle seasons: reckoning with sobriety

Radke’s problems with alcohol became apparent as the show progressed. In a Season 4 episode, Cooke tells Hubbard that Radke showed up to a work event drunk, leaving Cooke to simultaneously play the roles of babysitter and worker.

Radke said seeing himself on the show actually helped him realize how serious his problem was, especially with how it dominated so much of his time.

“Every other Bravo show, you film a dinner or at a party and then you go home, in separate places. We go home, back to the same spot, where there’s more microphones and more cameras,” Radke said.

He made the decision to get sober before the fifth season, which was filmed during the first year of the Covid pandemic. Rather than traveling back and forth between the city and the Hamptons, the cast hunkered down in a Hamptons mansion for six weeks — working from home and trying to enjoy the social time.

Everything seemed like it was on the right track for Radke, until the unthinkable happened.

That August, with cameras filming, Radke got a call that his brother had died. His housemates rallied around him and he took a brief break from filming, but when he got back to the summer house, he started drinking again.

The anxiety and panic didn’t entirely hit Radke until six months later when he tried to come to terms with the fact that news of his brother’s death, and the way he coped, would be broadcast on national television.

“I went back to New York City, to my old SoHo apartment, and that’s when I just, like, started spiraling,” he said. “Drinking and using by myself. And just the fear of like, ‘This is going to play on TV.’”

Though the anxiety of the show’s dealing with his brother’s death led him down a dark path, Radke also credits the show with his survival.

“I’d like to think the show saved my life — seriously, I don’t know if I would have ever seen myself behave. I always thought that it was like, fun, people liked being around me, but over time, that wasn’t the case,” Radke said of his drinking.

The current season: engagement fallout

As Radke settled into sobriety, his main plot point on the show centered around his relationship with a fellow housemate, Lindsay Hubbard.

Radke and Hubbard had flirted with the idea of dating in earlier seasons, but it wasn’t until the seventh season that they made it official. By the end of that summer, after less than a year of dating, they were engaged. Their wedding was set for November 2023, and though audiences knew before the start of Season 8 in February that Radke had called it off, the events leading up to the breakup have played out onscreen over the past few months. Radke has come off as both a sympathetic figure and a villain as the relationship dissolved.

“I’m not proud of how I was handling the situation and how I was treating her. I mean, I was clearly frustrated and, you know, so I wish I had really been more direct,” Radke said. “You can clearly see I’m struggling to communicate my feelings and that’s not on her, that’s on me — I’m seeing myself blame and play victim, and I don’t want to be either.”

Looking to the future: a clean slate

As Radke reflects on his past eight years on television — almost the entirety of his 30s — he’s identified some things he’d like to do differently.

First, he is fully single for the first time in years. He noted that in the world of recovery, it is recommended that you be single for a full year at the start of your sobriety — but in every season of the show Radke has been in some sort of relationship. Now, he wants to take that advice.

Another point of tension this season came between Radke and Hubbard, about Radke’s work ethic (or lack thereof). He plans to use his sobriety as a new way to focus his career, working with Cooke on a nonalcoholic line of sparkling tea and developing a bar that serves nonalcoholic cocktails for people who want to be able to go out without drinking.

Though the “Summer House” finale just aired, filming for Season 9 begins shortly back in the Hamptons. Radke’s goals are simple.

“I’m looking forward to this summer because of my friends and getting back to having fun. Got one more summer before I’m 40,” he said with a laugh.

Why some major artists are suddenly canceling shows, and in some cases entire tours

A series of tour cancellations and changes by big-name artists has sparked questions about whether the post-pandemic live music boom could be cooling, as consumer spending fatigue meets elevated ticket prices.

On Friday, Jennifer Lopez announced she was canceling her 2024 tour , citing a desire to spend more time with her family. Meanwhile, the Black Keys announced they were abandoning a stadium tour in favor of a series of shows at smaller venues.

Both tours had recently become the subject of social media fodder, namely screenshots showing empty venues at select tour dates. (NBC News could could not directly verify their authenticity.)

Silhouettes of people enjoying a concert

Indeed, some of the evidence of a slowdown is anecdotal. SeatGeek said in an email that the average resale ticket price to attend a summer concert is down to $213 from $257 around this time last year. The company suggested some of the decline could be attributed to the absence of megatours on par with Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” and Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” outings last year.

For artists whose popularity has crescendoed, there appears to be plenty of demand — and high prices. The average resale price for Olivia Rodrigo’s “Guts” tour is $571, and the next-highest is $409 to see Morgan Wallen, according to SeatGeek data first reported by Axios .

Many of those tours are being sold through Ticketmaster and its parent Live Nation. And prior to facing landmark accusations that it is a monopoly , a claim it denies, Live Nation reported its biggest first quarter ever, with $3.8 billion in revenues. Its concerts business alone was up 26% to $2.9 billion, while “estimated fans” globally were up more than 20%, and up 42% in North America.

Yet official government data points to the makings of a return to a more normal pace for live music event sales after a post-pandemic boom. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported last month that movie and concert admissions prices climbed just 3.4% year over year through April, the lowest reading since 2021 and the second-consecutive month showing a slowdown.

Dave Clark, editor of Ticket News, which tracks the live entertainment industry, said the period of explosive live music growth following pandemic reopenings may in hindsight be seen as an aberration: People were simply more eager — and more financially able — to go to as many shows as they could after months cooped up indoors.

This year, Clark said, a reckoning may be emerging.

“The days where there was enough demand to sell out arenas at top dollar just isn’t there in this live events economy — outside of people like Taylor Swift who can sell whatever they want wherever they want,” he said.

At a time when many consumers are struggling to pay for basic necessities, he said, “people are seeing some of the prices they’re asking and just saying, ‘Hard pass.’”

Another factor may be a supply issue, Clark added: too many acts trying to tour at once, or too many times. In the pre-streaming era, bands would go on tour as a way of marketing an album. These days, he said, it’s reversed, since the returns on recorded music have shrunk dramatically.

“Now they’re making records to sell the tour,” he said. “That paradigm has a lot to do with it. It’s just a very overloaded market.”

The Black Keys did just release a new album, and its debut single hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart in March.

Still, the rock duo announced it would cancel and reschedule its summer touring plans, switching from arenas to other venues that provide a more “intimate experience,” according to the band. The new dates have not yet been announced.

The Black Keys aren’t the only group that may be falling victim to costly concert fatigue.

Pop-rock band 311 announced it had canceled upcoming European tour dates due to the “rising costs of touring overseas,” which made completing certain portions of the tour “unfeasible.”

Other stars including Pink and Justin Timberlake have also recently canceled specific show dates, while the Jonas Brothers recently postponed their upcoming European tour , though none officially cited financial concerns as reasons for doing so.

“I think with all that competition for fan dollars, it was obviously natural that some artists were going to lose,” said Bill Werde, director of the Syracuse University Bandier Program for Recording and Entertainment Industries.

There are still plenty of large-scale tours planned for this summer that, so far, appear to be unaffected by flagging demand. Hootie & the Blowfish have 48 dates booked this year, while Dave Matthews Band is slated for 34. Other top acts hitting the road include Maroon 5, Zac Brown Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kenny Chesney and Chris Stapleton.

But experts say recent economic trends in the live-music industry, especially the type of consolidation the Justice Department is now targeting, have translated into fewer smaller-sized venues.

That’s made it more difficult for a given tour date to make financial sense for the artist, venue and promoter.

“Some shows, they can’t afford to drop prices; they can’t afford to wait to try to sell out the rest of the building,” Clark said.

If there is uncertainty about all stakeholders being able to at least break even, he said, the show might get canceled.

Such realities have collided with a more circumspect concertgoer. Brittney D’Mello, a 23-year-old K-pop fan from New Jersey who works in corporate marketing, posted to X about her frustrations with the current touring landscape.

“The tickets are too expensive,” D’Mello said. “There’s only a SMALL amount of people (10%) that will spend $500+ on vip/floor/premium,” she said. “The rest of us have budgets and won’t spend $100 on nosebleeds,” she said, referring to seats that are typically the farthest away from the stage.

“Everyone is touring this year … and we only have money for 2-3 concerts MAX,” she added.

In a follow-up interview with NBC News, D’Mello said she simply decided to cap her concert budget.

“I will only go see two artists that are my tried-and-true favorite artists,” she said. “But I won’t be casually going to concerts anymore. And after going to concerts twice, I think that’s where I stop.”

No, you probably didn't win a free vacation. Don't let these scams ruin your summer fun

summer journey tickets

Summer months mean vacations, outdoor concerts – and unfortunately, scams.

Though scams happen year-round, during the summer there's an increase in fraud around popular summer activities, Dan Cusick, a fraud and claim executive at Wells Fargo, told USA TODAY.

"Scammers and/or bad actors, as we often refer to them, really just look to exploit events. So whether it's the holiday season, whether it's summertime and concerts ... their whole MO isn't so much to get to that one person," Cusick said. "It's to exploit an event, and then those people come to that event and the scam is on."

Young adults may be the most vulnerable to summer scams

"Fraud and scams are an equal-opportunity sport" that will exploit anybody, Cusick said, but young adults ages 18 to 24 are more likely to become victims of summer frauds, particularly fake concert tickets.

In a study in October 2023, the Better Business Bureau found that consumers ages 18 to 24 reported a higher median loss in scams than other age groups for the first time in 2022.

Still, scams happen to any age group, he said. In February, the Federal Trade Commission said consumers reported losing more than $10 billion to fraud in 2023, marking the first time fraud losses have reached that benchmark. It was also a 14% increase over losses reported in 2022.

Fake vacation rentals, concert tickets are common scams

Here are some common summer scams, according to Cusick:

  • Summer concert and event scams. Fraudsters will target and exploit popular summer concerts, trying to lure victims through fake websites, social media posts or emails offering tickets at discounted prices. Victims are asked to pay upfront for the tickets, often via a peer-to-peer payment app, which may not have as many protections against fraud.
  • Fake travel websites. Be on the lookout for spoofed or fake travel websites, which can be disguised as legitimate sources. These sites might look real and offer attractive deals on flights, hotels and vacation packages, but there is no vacation. If a website asks for payment in the form of a gift card or a wire transfer, that's a red flag. Another red flag: if the site asks you to book immediately.
  • The disappearing vacation rental. Scammers are trying to take advantage of popular sites like AirBnB and VRBO by offering properties that don't exist or don't belong to them. If the site asks you to go to another site to make your payment, or if that payment is required via an unusual payment method, that's a red flag. Research the rental property by doing an online search for the owner's name and property address.
  • You've won a free vacation. Some scammers will try to trick consumers into believing they've won a "free" vacation, but they need to pay a fee to receive the prize or pay for taxes.

Beware of scams targeting senior citizen Here's tips to protect yourself or a loved one

Tips to protect yourself from scams

Cusick's tips to protect yourself:

  • Verify websites. Make sure the URL is an authentic website of a known company. Look for the padlock icon, which indicates it's a secure site.
  • Book direct. When possible, book directly from an official travel provider.
  • Use a credit card. Credit card purchases provide certain protections for consumers, while peer-to-peer payment apps may not.
  • Use caution with QR codes. QR codes can be convenient, but be aware that scammers can use QR codes to send you to a malicious site. Verify the site is legitimate.

On ‘summer house’ star danielle olivera’s hamptons packing list: bedazzled sandals and the perfect beach chair.

Ever wonder what your favorite celebrities buy when they’re browsing their favorite boutique or shopping online late at night? Welcome to Six Picks, where we ask stars to spill their style and beauty must-haves — so you can shop like you’re famous, too.

The Hamptons are calling.

Danielle Olivera is gearing up to film Season 9 of Bravo’s “Summer House” next month, and along with her bikinis and sandals, the reality star is bringing a newly toned physique to the beach.

Olivera, who recently slimmed her arms with AirSculpt body contouring, tells Page Six Style she’s looking forward to “falling back in love” with some of her skimpier summer pieces as she joins her castmates for another season of sun-drenched parties.

“Being on TV, it’s definitely a contributing factor to zeroing in on what I don’t super love about myself,” the reality star tells us, adding, “I had the insecurity before and maybe other people don’t notice it when they watch the show, but I sure do. I don’t think I’ve worn a strapless [outfit] since Amanda and Kyle’s wedding .”

Below, the Bravolebrity shares what she’s packing for the shore, from a sunscreen that doubles as highlighter to the chair that makes beach trips “a lot easier.”

Mystique Milan Sandals

Mystique Milan sandals

“They have the cute little embellished buckle but the comfort of a Birkenstock, so you could walk around in those sandals all day long. They look elevated, but they’re super comfortable.”

Supergoop! Glowscreen

Supergoop glowscreen

“If you don’t want to be wearing makeup on the beach — no one does — it just gives you a little bit of that extra radiance while giving you the SPF.”

Madewell Handwoven Leather Tote

Madewell tote

“I always make fun of my mom sometimes because she just brings everything. And I’m like, well, large tote bags are back, so that’s good for Mom and also good for me if I have to bring my laptop somewhere. Madewell [offers] great quality and price point.”

Sunflow The Original Chair

summer journey tickets

“[Sunflow] has a built-in umbrella in the chair, and it has a little cool cup for your — obviously, we need some beverages! — and then it has a side pocket for all of the things like your phone, your keys or whatever. I just loved it because I don’t really like going to the beach that much, which is weird for being on a summer show, because there’s just so many things that you have to carry. And so that chair makes it a lot easier.”

summer journey tickets

“It’s all about organizing yourself and figuring out what you’re going to pack. And this is just a really easy way to [be] like, ‘OK, day one, day two, day three,’ even if it’s a summer house weekend. ‘What am I bringing with me?’ Because, you know, we lug huge luggages into that house; it’s like we’re just tossing a bunch of things in there without actually understanding what outfits they will create. So hopefully this makes it a lot better.”

L*Space Isadora Hat

Lspace Isadora hat

“A bucket hat [is important] just to protect your face. I think, again, sun protection is huge. I have the tan one. But also if you’re like [“Summer House” star] West Wilson, he has multicolored crochet bucket hats. Every time I see a colorful bucket hat, I think of him … he’s pulling it off.”
