Secret Sounds is thrilled to reveal that ‘America’s favourite indie band’ TV Girl will be bringing their hypnotic pop to Australia and New Zealand in July 2024, gracing stages in Melbourne and Sydney, with a special co-headline show with much loved British five-piece The Last Dinner Party to then head to New Zealand for a one-off show in Auckland.

VENUE UPGRADES DUE TO HUGE DEMAND!

Due to enormous demand, TV Girl’s Australian dates SOLD OUT in record time. All dates will be upgraded, all shows remaining the same date. Tickets to the Sydney show, now taking place at Hordern Pavilion, Melbourne, upgrading to Festival Hall, Brisbane, upgrading to Riverstage, Auckland upgrading to Spark Arena, and a second show for Sydney has been added, tickets are ON SALE NOW! 

On the surface, TV Girl is a sunny, throwback splash of ‘60s French pop and southern California soul. Yet, under that shiny veneer lays a dark heart, beating with sharp wit and cynical alienation. TV Girl, composed of Brad Petering, Jason Wyman and Wyatt Harmon, was formed in 2010 by Petering as an outlet to blend the love of Spector-esque girl-group pop with an emerging interest in hip-hop. Featuring shimmering vocals and sampled beats, the self- titled debut EP of the same year turned heads online immediately.

TV Girl will limber up for their anticipated Australian shows at Governors Ball and Bonnaroo, and New Zealand before bringing their lush vintage rhythms our way in July 2024. Presale for all shows starts at 9am local, Thursday 18 April,  with tickets available to the general public from 9am local, Friday 19 April. Don’t miss out!

Event Details

TV Girl, comprised of Brad Petering, Jason Wyman, and Wyatt Harmon and was formed in 2010. 

In 2014, TV Girl unveiled their first full-length, the critically acclaimed French Exit. The album keeps true to the TV Girl charm with a bevy of electronic samplings infused throughout light and airy guitars, whirring organs, and ethereal vocals. 

Their 2016 follow up, Who Really Cares, found the band doubling down on their heavy use of samples. Combining the aesthetic of 90’s hip hop with modern psychedelic pop. latest album, 2023's, Grapes Upon the Vine, finds the band somewhat-controversially exploring gospel music and its themes, as Petering explores love, faith, and death.

In recent years, the band has unexpectedly found viral fame. Despite their success, the band still maintains a purely-DIY approach. There is no label and there is no manager. TV Girl is creating art and touring the world on their terms, coming to first direct arena Leeds on August 17 2024.

TV Girl is hitting the road for a thrillfest of a North American tour. Titled the "Grapes Upon the Vine" tour, it comes in support of the latest studio effort which has got the fans all super-stoked with excitement. The 37-date trek will be visiting major cities across the nation starting off in San Antonio at the Aztec Theatre on September 29th and will close at Santa Ana, the Observatory on December 17th. TV Girl's brand new album, "Grapes Upon The Vine," is their first album in three years. The album delivers their signature sound of catchy melodies, wistful nostalgia, upbeat rhythms to get your feet tapping, and a dose of dark cheekiness for that extra special sauce. It shouldn't come as a surprise though, cause TV Girl has a hella chill, throwback vibe that's straight outta the 60s with a dark twist but the album also contains a new gospel direction too, making the whole project that much more special.

The indie-pop outfit based out of California consists of Brad Petering, Reagan Landen, Brayden Patterson, Jason Wyman, and Wyatt Harmon. Their musical style is a sample heavy mix of 1960s beats, and this uniqueness comes from Petering's constant search to seek out old and obscure music. Those samples are then put into TV Girls special blender, where they are mixed with elements of hip-hop and electronic music.

With the help of social media platforms and owing to their distinctive sounds, their songs have become viral sensations, like the song "Blue Hair" from 2018's "Death of a Party Girl" album, which became one of the go to songs for videos on Tik Tok in 2023.

They formed in 2010 and released their first album in 2014 to critical acclaim, setting the tone for their next projects. Dealing with themes of love, happiness, sarcastic humor and nostalgia, the album had summer vibez written all over it, but looking deeper, the characters were not only in love but fueled by revenge too. Their music was made all the better because of it.

Later, they brought out "Who Really Cares" in 2016, "Death of a Pary Girl" in 2018, and "The Night in Question: French Exit Outtakes in 2020. Now their new album and brand new tour set the scene for what will be one of the best concert series of the year. Cyndi Lauper Farewell Tour 2024: Presale code, dates, venues, & all you need to know

C yndi Lauper is hitting the road for a final outing called Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour 2024 this fall. It is not confirmed why Lauper is retiring from tours, but her documentary, Let the Canary Sing, may shed some light on the matter.

While the documentary is set to release this Tuesday, June 4, on Paramount+, Lauper's headlining tour begins later this year on October 18. Promoted by Live Nation, the tour spans over three weeks and covers major Canadian and North American cities.

Fans can catch Cyndi Lauper live on her farewell tour by booking the tickets through an artist presale beginning this Tuesday, June 4, at 10 am EDT. A Live Nation presale for the tour also begins at 10 am EDT on June 5. The 48-hour presale can be accessed through Livenation.com with the code CHORD.

Select partners including 313 Presents and Ticketmaster begin their website presales on June 5. Fans can get the general tour tickets through the open sale starting on Ticketmaster at 10 am EDT on Friday, June 7. A limited number of VIP packages will also be on open sale starting June 7.

Cyndi Lauper will kick off her farewell tour on October 18 in Canada's Quebec as she headlines a concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The Time After Time singer will host another Canadian show at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on October 20.

The North American section of Lauper's farewell tour will begin with the October 24 concert at Detroit's Fox Theatre. Performances in Boston, Washington DC, New York, Nashville, and Columbus will follow up the Detroit concert. Lauper will head to Florida on November 6 for two successive concerts at Tampa's Amalie Arena, and the Hard Rock Hollywood. She will also take up the stage at Atlanta's State Farm Arena, Austin's Moody Center, and Footprint Center in Phoenix.

As she reaches California on November 20, Lauper will headline consecutive concerts in San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm Desert, and San Francisco. She will follow up the California concerts with shows at Portland's Moda Center, Washington's Climate Pledge Arena, and Minneapolis Target Center.

Cyndi Lauper will officially conclude her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour 2024 with a concert at the United Center in Chicago on December 5. While the tour setlist is yet to be revealed, fans can hope to see performances on evergreen hits - True Colors, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, I Drove All Night, and more.

Today, Cyndi Lauper has announced the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour.  Produced by Live Nation, the 23-city headlining tour – Lauper’s first major run in a decade – begins on October 18th at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC, making stops across North America in her hometown of New York City at the iconic Madison Square Garden, plus Boston, Nashville, Los Angeles, and more before wrapping up in Chicago, IL at United Center on December 5th. Throughout the tour, Lauper will be joined by special guests to be revealed at a later date.

Tickets will be available starting with an artist presale beginning Tuesday, June 4. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, June 7 at 10 AM local time at LiveNation.com . The announcement of her farewell tour arrives alongside LET THE CANARY SING , a feature-length documentary film that explores Lauper’s extraordinary life and career. The documentary will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday, June 4. In celebration of the tour and the film, Lauper will be honored with an imprint ceremony at the prestigious TCL Chinese Theatre Hollywood tomorrow (June 4) in Los Angeles. A special private screening of the film at the TCL Chinese Theatre will follow that evening, along with a Q&A.

Lauper will also be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Wednesday, June 5 (ABC, 11:35PM ET/10:35PM CT), to talk about her farewell tour and LET THE CANARY SING .  She was also just profiled by CBS Sunday Morning .

Directed by Emmy® Award-winning documentarian Alison Ellwood, LET THE CANARY SING made its world premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Festival.  Produced by Fine Point Films and Sony Music Entertainment in association with Concord Originals, the film chronicles Lauper’s meteoric ascent to stardom and her profound impact on generations through her music, ever-evolving punk style, unwavering feminism and tireless advocacy. Cyndi Lauper is retiring from the road. The “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” singer-songwriter announced a farewell tour Monday morning, setting one last national jaunt that will take her to arenas in 23 cities in North America this fall before she calls it a day as a touring artist.

Lauper did not release any statement explaining her reasons for deciding to do a farewell tour now, although she is expected to talk about it later this week as she promotes a new documentary about her career, “Let the Canary Sing,” that premieres on Paramount+ Tuesday.

“Let the Canary Sing,” directed by Alison Ellwood, which had its premiere at Tribeca last year, will begin showing on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday. That same day, Lauper will participate in a handprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood before attending a private local premiere of the film at the theater complex, to be followed by a Q&A. On Wednesday, she’ll be discussing the documentary and the farewell tour on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

On Monday (June 3), the veteran pop star announced her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, a 23-city North American trek that marks the singer’s first major run in more than a decade.

The Live Nation-produced jaunt is scheduled to launch Oct. 18 at the Bell Centre in Montreal and wrap Dec. 5 at the United Center in Chicago. The tour will also visit major such major cities as New York, Boston, Nashville, Atlanta and Houston. See the full list of dates below.

Lauper’s farewell tour announcement arrives alongside the release of her upcoming biopic , Let the Canary Sing , which debuts June 4 on Paramount+. The feature-length film, directed by Emmy-winning documentarian Alison Ellwood ( Laurel Canyon ), premiered at last year’s Tribeca Festival in New York.

Legacy Recordings will release a career-spanning companion album that takes listeners from the singer’s early days in the group Blue Angel (“I’m Gonna Be Strong”) through the global breakout success of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and other iconic hits such as “True Colors,” “I Drove All Night,” “Money Changes Everything,” “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough,” “She Bop,” “All Through the Night” and more.

K-Pop’s Latest Sensation Is Launching a World Tour

South Korean-based Japanese girl group XG is the latest musical sensation to have come out of Southeast Asia, their hallmark being their fresh and inventive music .

The band, also known as Xtraordinary Girls, has added new dates to their 2024 The First Howl world tour, with concerts taking place in Asia, North America, Europe, and more. The tour was first announced in November 2023, confirming it to be the group’s first world tour ever, following which a March update confirmed the tour name. The trip began with a two-date show at Osaka-Jo Hall in Osaka, Japan, on May 18 and 19, 2024. It was followed by performances on May 25 and 26 at K-Arena Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan.

They are set to go on sale on June 11 at 10AM local time. It is important to note that this sale will be for XG’s fan club members, as they will get priority access.

For everyone else, tickets will be available on June 14 at 10 a.m. local time. XG is a popular act, and the passes will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so to avoid missing out XG’s concerts, the fans can register for early access on their website.
