Ford Excursion Keyless Entry Code

When I bought my 2003 Ford Excursion, it didn’t come with the Keyless Entry ‘wallet card’ that contains the door code.

If you don’t have this card, the code can be located by reading the sticker on the GEM (Generic Electronics Module) located in the dash.

On my Excursion, I found that you can see the top of the GEM by removing the ashtray and looking in to the dash with a flashlight.

When you look at the module, you should see a white sticker with black print. You can see it in the photo below. The print is upside down.

Here’s a look at sticker flipped 180 degrees. The actual door code starts with the ‘2’. The remaining numbers aren’t visible. I had too much trouble positioning the camera to get a shot at the whole number.

Here is what the sticker will look like. The ‘09388’ is the 5-digit keyless entry door code.

Setting Your Own Code:

Once you find the factory code, you can set your own personal 5-digit code.

Step 1: Enter the factory 5-digit code (you’ll hear a click in the door. I lock the door before entering the code so I can see it unlock when the code is entered)

Step 2: Immediately (within 5-seconds) push the ‘1-2’ button after entering the code.

Step 3: Immediately (within 5-seconds) enter your new 5-digit code.

Step 4: Now lock the door and make sure the new 5-digit code works.

Note: You can’t erase the original factory code. It will always work irregardless of what you set for a personal code.

Another Method To Find The Code:

I found a YouTube video that demonstrates how to find the code using an inspection mirror. The method didn’t work for me, but it may for you.

Here’s the video:

Where can I find my Ford's keyless entry code with an Intelligent Access key?

You can use two programmed keys to retrieve the factory set keyless entry code by following a simple procedure.

Retrieving the Keyless Entry Code

Intelligent Access Key

To find the keyless entry code with an Intelligent Access key:

Make sure you have the two programmed keys that came with your vehicle.

Note: If you do not have a second key, contact your Ford Dealer  for further assistance.

  • Place the first programmed key in the backup slot * .
  • Press the START/STOP button once.
  • Wait 5 seconds.
  • Press the START/STOP button again.
  • Remove the key.
  • Insert the second programmed key.
  • Press the START/STOP button.

The factory-set code will appear in the instrument cluster located above your steering wheel for a few seconds. Make sure you are ready to record the information.

If it does not display after performing the above steps, visit your Ford Dealer to obtain the keyless entry code. Dealer fees may apply.

Finding the Backup Slot for Your Vehicle

Search for "slot" or "passive key backup" in the Owner’s Manual , and follow the instructions for locating the backup slot.

  • To search the HTML version of the Owner's manual, you can use the search bar at the top.
  • For the PDF format, press  CTRL + F  to open a search box in your browser.

Factory code for 2000 Excursion's keypad

  • Add to quote

My wife and I recently bought a 2000 Excursion. We can't find the factory code to reprogram the keypad on the driver's door. I looked under the dash where I found the code for our Expidition, but was not able to find it. Can anyone suggest a remedy?

You can try to contact ford CS and see if they can help you with this. I have found the code occasionally on a sheet of paper in the owners manual. Just my 2 cents.

The code is usually located on a white electrical box located near your jack. My code for a Mountaineer is located inside the panel located on the drivers side in the back of the cargo area. The number is not easy to read, it requires a flashlight and looking at it at a angle. Good luck.

Keyless Entry Code on 2005 Excursion

  • Add to quote

I thought I'd share this since I literally pulled the fuse panel, radio, dash, cupholder, trash-hook, right kick panel, etc looking for this sticker. I read through a 40+ page thread on the subject and got about 50 numbers into the 3000+ number codes. Hope this helps if you're still looking for this. I'd rather find this myself opposed to paying the stealership an hours labor for 2 minutes of work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRHMgLWcyPw&feature=youtu.be

Thanks for posting that and the video, I was fortunate that my EX came with the owners manual and the keyless code card but I am sure I will use your info someday. Thanks

You totally made my day...a 90 second fix for a problem we've been trying to figure out for over a year...

Glad I could help out. I spent too much time looking for this and was about to give up. Funny thing is that after I entered the code, the aftermarket alarm system the previous owner installed began to go crazy and I ended up disconnecting the batteries to keep the horn from beeping at 11pm.:lookaround:

Key pad on door, Code location?

  • Add to quote

My new/used F-250 has the keyless entry pad on the door. I don't have the original card in the owners packet with the number. I know that Ford puts it on the body computer, any hints where I can find it, or another tag with the number on it? John

Depending on the year of the truck I read somewhere the code is behind the radio. The dealer, which charges $50 to tell you the code, said it is not there on my 06. I contacted the PO of my truck and got his code so I didn't have to spend the $50 YET. I didn't take the radio out yet so I can't confirm if the code is or isn't there.

They say it's up behind the radio, i'm in the same boat:dunno: 2 stroker:icon_ford:

Lay down on the drivers side and look up towards the radio. you will see a piece of white insulation looking stuff in there. move it out of the way and you will see a box with a label on it. The code is on that lable. You can see it without having to take anything apart... All you need is a flashlight and a contortionist's flexibility.

Or you can try this. Weak security in our daily [email protected]

GregsSD said: It is printed on the sticker that is on your security module. You can find the module up against the firewall directly down from the back of your stereo, you will have to pull back some of the insulation pad to see it. If you have the drivers side glovebox then you can swing it down out of the way and look through the opening to spot the box. It is usually easier to hold a digital camera up in there and take a picture of it to get the code, it is hard to read it because it's back in there soo far. :thumb: Click to expand...

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

2005 ford excursion door code location

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

2005 ford excursion door code location

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

2005 ford excursion door code location

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

2005 ford excursion door code location

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

2005 ford excursion door code location

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

2005 ford excursion door code location

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
