"The brew bus was a big hit for transportation to and from our wedding @ Florida Avenue Brewing. We hired them for transportation to/from four hotels and they made sure everyone got to the venue on time, and even made sure they didn’t leave any of us behind on the way home! Mike and the team were easy to work with, friendly, and Brittany even went out of her way at the end of the night to bring my friend her purse that was left on the bus. Everyone had a fun time and couldn’t stop talking about the brew bus."

"Bootleggers Brewing CO's Mug Club worked with Mike from Brew Bus to create a private experience. He was very flexible and attentive to our needs and made the process very easy! The club had an absolute blast and asked when we could do it again! I highly recommend Brew Bus tours for any event!"

"My very first time on the Local Loop, and the experience was "super stellar". We were a group of 11 awesome women plus our driver Mrs.Penny made us all feel welcomed. In other words "women ruled this tour". Beautiful sunny weather and all the places we visited were "outstanding". My favorite was BARRIEHAUS and the selection of local beers. And the patio where we played "corn toss" lots of fun. Yes I'd do it again, and I highly recommend."

"We booked a custom tour with Mike and his team the day after our wedding (10/10 recommend) and it was an amazing time. We had just under 40 people and had three brewery stops and one food stop. The team executed everything flawlessly and our entire group had a wonderful time. If you're considering taking a tour with these guys, just book the ticket now. It's a blast!"

"I scheduled a private Brew Bus for my fiancé and his friends as a surprise Bachelor Party. They had the best time! Mike was super communicative in helping me plan the stops. The driver, Barry, and Beertender were great! 10/10 across the board. Now I want to plan one that I can go on!"

"My bachelor party and I had a great time on our brewery tour! The beer attendant and our driver were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and breweries. The beer we had on the bus and breweries were very good. 3 Daughters brewery even had a buy a sandwhich get a free beer deal which was awesome for our group. Another thing we loved about this trip is that we could pick breweries in different areas giving us the options of seeing more places while we were in town (we had never been to the tampa area for the most part). We really liked the St. Pete area and would recommend that to others who plan on visiting."

Crooked Can Brewery beer

Crooked Can Brewing Company (Winter Garden)

It could be argued that Crooked Can Brewing Company is the charming heart of Winter Garden. The reason being, Crooked Can anchors Plant Street Market, which houses an eclectic collection of eateries and retailers and is the centerpiece of the city’s historic main strip, Plant Street.

Then again, maybe we’re just promoting Crooked Can as Winter Garden’s heart because we really like their beer. Their offerings go great with food from Plant Street Market’s vendors, including sushi from MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Norigami, barbecue, donuts, pizza and pierogis.

Gatlin Hall Brewing (South Orlando)

Located east of the Holden Heights neighborhood and south of SODO just past the Orlando city line, Gatlin Hall Brewing pairs draft brews with wines, ciders and a hearty selection of whiskey. Grab a drink and chill on their outdoor patio, which is family- and pet-friendly

Half Barrel Beer Project (Southwest Orlando)

Just 10 minutes from Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld® Orlando, Half Barrel Beer Project takes pride in its unique, half-barrel brewing system, which produces smaller quantities and allows beers on tap to be changed out more frequently.

In addition to making its own beer, the microbrewery and brew pub brings in suds from other local producers. Half Barrel Beer Project is also a bottle shop, carrying a selection of rare beers from across the world.

Sanford Brewing Company (Maitland & Sanford)

After building a fervent fanbase at their original location in their namesake city, Sanford Brewing now has a location in Maitland, adjacent to Winter Park. They serve house-made and Florida-produced beer, cider, mead, and even handcrafted sodas, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients.

Their original brewery in Sanford’s historic downtown features a 100-plus-seat taproom and gastropub. The food menu at both venues features gourmet takes on pub favorites, plus a special menu for children. Both are also kid- and dog-friendly environments with outdoor seating.

Even more tasty breweries await you in nearby communities outside Orange County, including Clermont, Sanford and more.

Central 28 Beer Company (DeBary)

Family-owned and operated, Central 28 Beer Company was born out of unbridled enthusiasm for drinking beer, and it shows in the final product. Their year-round offerings are complemented by nearly a dozen semi-regular and seasonal brews.

Central 28 is located about 35 minutes north of our tourism districts, and it’s kid- and dog-friendly — assuming you keep an eye on the former and a leash on the latter. (Please don’t mix those up.) And although the brewery doesn’t serve food, it does host food trucks every Tuesday through Saturday.

Clermont Brewing Company exterior

Clermont Brewing Co. (Clermont)

Clermont Brewing Co. specializes in craft beer, cocktails, artisanal food and live music — making it a great place to gather with old friends or meet some new ones in the taproom, covered patio or backyard beer garden. They also offer wine for those who prefer grapes over hops.

Some of Central Florida’s finest musicians and entertainers take the stage Wednesdays through Sundays, and there’s lots more to do here. In addition to holiday events, you can look forward to a weekly Sunday Brunch, Tuesday Night Bingo, beer chats and brewery tours, and dueling pianos on Wednesdays. Clermont Brewing is in its namesake city, about 30 minutes west of our main tourism districts.

Interior of Deviant Wolfe Brewing

Deviant Wolfe Brewing (Sanford)

Deviant Wolfe Brewing is crazy about sour beers, and it shows. But if sours aren’t your thing, don’t worry — they also brew true-to-style variations of just about every beer imaginable.

If you’re looking for something to do while you drink, Deviant Wolfe hosts a wide range of special events, such as trivia, yoga and group runs. You can also get growlers to go, as well as a full range of branded glassware and apparel. They’re in Sanford, about 40 minutes northeast of Orlando’s tourism districts.

Orange County Brewers (Lake Mary)

Although originally located in Orange County (hence the name), Orange County Brewers can now be found in Seminole County, about 30 minutes north of downtown Orlando. It’s one of the few local breweries with a female brewmaster, who’s known for creative recipes with unique flavors.

This brewery has earned a rabid following with their innovative concoctions, and they usually have a guest tap or two. The beers are complemented by a robust events schedule, including brunches, trivia and even a beer flight school.

Oviedo Brewing Company (Oviedo)

Located at the Oviedo Mall in their shared namesake city, about 30 minutes north of Orlando’s tourism districts, Oviedo Brewing Company has a hardy lineup of brews for you to enjoy. They’re also very family- and dog-friendly, with indoor and outdoor games, a kids’ (food) menu, and a doggie lawn.

The 8,000-square-foot tap room and brewhouse also has a full kitchen, plus fun events such as weekly trivia nights. They’re up for hosting memorable private events, too.

Wop’s Hops Brewing Company (Sanford)

Wop’s Hop Brewing Company is a microbrewery specializing in English-style ales, located in Sanford. They also have a selection of wines and sodas, and a dog-friendly beer garden that’s perfect for relaxing. Parents are welcome to bring children, too.

The team at Wop’s Hops is very particular about what they put in their beer, going so far as to ban high-fructose corn sugars, GMOs and additives from their brewing process. You won’t go hungry here, either, thanks to pub-friendly food offerings that include menus for kids and even dogs.

For those who think nirvana is drinking a pint—or three—of craft beer right where it’s made, Central Florida brewers have blazed the trail for you. The first Central Florida Ale Trail map is now available, guiding you to breweries located from DeBary to Orlando, Sanford to Clermont.  They even have a prize for those who visit all of the locations on the map.

But we’ve all been so busy brewing and getting established that it’s only been in recent months we’ve come together as a community.  The Central Florida Ale Trail is one of the exciting outcomes of that association.”

You can pick up the Central Florida Ale Trail map at any of the participating breweries. The list is on the Central Florida Ale Trail map Facebook page . A link to the Google map with the locations of the operating breweries (green) and breweries in planning (red) is here .

beer tour orlando

The map helps craft beer lovers plan the best routes to visit all 16 operational breweries and points out the future locations of five additional “breweries in planning.” Enjoying a beer in one of the operational breweries’ tap rooms enables you to get your map stamped. Collecting all 16 stamps earns you a special 64 oz. growler at your last stop—and discounted growler fills at any location in the future. “Rewards are subject to change over time,” advises St. Pierre. “So if growlers are your thing, you’ll want to get started soon.”

Central Florida breweries offer a wide variety of quality craft beer styles and enjoy sharing the culture of their growing community. To encourage responsible drinking, there is no time limit for completing the trail. 6 Breweries to Visit in Orlando

For beer lovers, Orlando’s best thrill ride is visiting the area’s many craft breweries and sipping frothy beverages.

Crooked Can Brewing Company rotates in seasonal beers and bourbon-barrel-aged brews.

The microbrew storm has blown through greater Orlando, Florida , like a Category 5 hurricane, leaving a trail of delicious beer in its wake – the Central Florida Ale Trail to be exact – which has 17 (and counting) breweries on its must-visit map. Here are a few of those thirst-quenching stops (and a couple outliers) recommended by local experts.

Crooked Can Brewing Co.

Crooked Can Brewing Company

Not sure what kind of beer you like? No worries. The staff at Crooked Can Brewing Co . in historic Winter Garden can guide you.

"They'll let you taste different things and get a feel for your palate," says Lourdes Gee, concierge at the Villas of Grand Cypress, Orlando . "Their bartenders are great at finding the right fit."

What's right for you depends on your goal. The copper loveliness of McSwagger's Own Amber Ale is perfect for sipping in the outdoor courtyard, while the McStagger Imperial IPA, at 9 percent alcohol by volume, is perfect for slipping off your bar stool. Crooked Can also rotates in seasonal beers and bourbon-barrel-aged brews.

The brewery and taproom fill one end of the Plant Street Market and share a roof with specialty shops, bistros and food artisans. Its monocle-wearing mascot McSwagger graces every can and embodies the brewery's classy-casual atmosphere. Crooked Can is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Orlando Brewing

Some beer connoisseurs demand that their brews follow the Reinheitsgebot, the centuries-old German beer purity law that limited beer-makers to only four ingredients: water, yeast, hops and barley. Orlando Brewing honors the ancient brewing regulations, while managing to produce dozens of beer styles. It does occasionally release beers that break the rules, under The Violator Series.

Orlando Brewing is one of only a handful of U.S. Department of Agriculture-certified organic breweries in the South, a point of immense pride for the staff. For a tongue-lashing, try the Grand O' Hopry Double IPA. For a brew as dark and thick as the witching hour, go for the Papa Midnight Imperial Stout.

Orlando Brewing hosts live entertainment on its outdoor stage, including open mics to showcase your beer-influenced crooning. Orlando Brewing is in the SoDo District, just a bottle toss away from the historic Orlando Amtrak Station. It's open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m.

Dead Lizard Brewing Co.

Dead Lizard Brewing Company

Hidden like a camouflaged chameleon among the gray warehouses of the 33rd Street Industrial Park is the Dead Lizard Brewing Co . Step inside to see this lizard's true colors, which range from straw yellow IPAs to dark brown stouts. The decor is mostly bare-bones concrete block, metal and ductwork, with a large window to see the brewing vats.

Most of Dead Lizard's beers are lizard-themed, of course, though very much alive with offerings like Komodo "KoKo" Dragon Chocolate Stout and Purple Skink IPA. For the adventurous palate, try the Key Lime Chameleon Cream-Sic-Ale (Nitro), which tastes like an offering from a beer-infused ice cream truck.

The brewery has live music inside the taproom on weekends for lounge lizards who like a little entertainment with their beverage. Dead Lizard is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. It's closed Monday.

Ten10 Brewing Co.

Ten10 Brewing Co ., a young brewery in the Mills 50 District north of downtown Orlando, is the epitome of a local spot and not just in the sense of patrons. The brewery prides itself on using local ingredients, sourced as nearby as next door.

[Read: The 6 Best Places to Shop in Orlando .]

The brewery belongs to a tightly knit business district. George Aguel, president and CEO of Visit Orlando, the area's official tourism organization, explains, "Ten10 Brewing uses a wide variety of ingredients from other local businesses and uses wine barrels from Quantum Leap Winery to ferment and age their beers." Ten10 Brewing reciprocates by serving Quantum Leap wines. It also donates spent grains to nearby small companies such as Gezellig Cookies and Olde Hearth Bread Co. Olde Hearth’s pretzel is on Ten10’s menu. Try it with the beer cheese.

Ten10 Brewing beers range from Black Bombers in the Night, a flavorful schwarzbier, to the powerful stout, The Lebanon. A favorite is Chronically Mismanaged, a coffee red ale but thankfully not the brewery's actual management style, as the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Ten10 Brewing is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Two Henrys Brewing Co.

Two Henrys Brewing Company

Courtesy of Two Henrys Brewing Company

If you're staying in the Disney Springs area and you're in love with breweries that incorporate history and local ingredients, drive about an hour due west to Two Henrys Brewing Co . in neighboring Plant City. Its namesakes, 19th-century railroad tycoons Henry B. Plant and Henry M. Flagler, opened up Florida to northern visitors. That railroad history is reflected in the town's name and the beer label.

The brewery is also a working blueberry farm, and the fruit figures into many of the brewery's beers and hard ciders, such as the seasonal Belleview Biltmore Blueberry Vanilla Wheat or the piquant Roasted Jalapeno Blueberry Porter.

"If you like blueberry and spicy beer, this is the place for you," says Richard Tribou, travel editor for the Orlando Sentinel. "If you're not sure, go and try one." If you're not a blueberry fan, there are plenty of other frothy options. The location is also home to Keel & Curley Winery, so nonbeer drinkers have options, with and without blueberries. Accentuate your buzz with live music every Friday and Saturday night. The brewery and winery tasting rooms are open Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Sea Dog Brewing Co.

Originating in Maine, Sea Dog Brewing Co . now has seven breweries across the continental USA, and one of them is conveniently 10 minutes outside Disney Springs on Palm Parkway.

[Read: 7 Great Orlando Theme Parks .]

Sea Dog brews in a traditional English style with English malted barley and British yeast to produce a variety of award-winning beers such as Windjammer Blond Ale, Bluepaw Blueberry Wheat Ale and the nautically named Old Gollywobbler Brown Ale.

Its plush mascot, Barney, a Great Pyrenees dog with a yellow sou'wester fishing hat, graces the logo and also appears in costume at the brewery, which fits well with the nearby theme park motif. Sea Dog is not on the Central Florida Ale Trail, but while on vacation, if your tail gets stuck in the "mousetrap," it's a refreshing nearby getaway.

Sea Dog is open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight.
