We want you to sit back, unwind and relax as soon as you board our coach. The Dunwood vehicle fleet consists of modern executive style coaches with video and reclining seats. For those customers who have walking difficulties or are confined to a wheelchair, we also have vehicles with a tail-lift facility. Our coach drivers are knowledgeable and provide a standard of customer service that is second to none.

Dunwood operate brand new coaches and minibuses within our extensive tour programme and also offer the use of a tail-lift coach.

After departure, we travel north towards the Scottish border, where we enjoy a stop in the Border market town of Moffat. After some free time to explore, we continue our journey to our overnight hotel.

Today, we will travel to the historic port of Bo'ness on the Firth of Forth for a journey on the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. On our ten-mile scenic journey to Manuel, you'll travel along the Forth Estuary, through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon Viaduct. From here, our journey continues by coach into the Highlands and our hotel based near Fort William.

Today, we head north with a photo opportunity at Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most striking castles in Scotland. Perched atop a tiny island and joined to the mainland by an elegant bridge, it was designed to defend the region from invading Viking raiders. We next follow in the footsteps of Michael Palin and embark on a railway journey on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line. This primarily single-track railway travels via breathtaking scenery from Kyle of Lochalsh to Dingwall. After disembarking, our return by coach takes us along the shores of Loch Ness - keep your eyes peeled for the mythical resident!

Described as the 'Greatest Railway Journey in the World', we board the Jacobite Steam Railway today. This section of the West Highland Line crosses the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, which you may remember from the Harry Potter films. Starting in Fort William, a town in the shadow of Ben Nevis, our journey will take us to Mallaig, a busy fishing port and home to many shops, restaurants and freshly caught fish and chips! After some free time to explore, you'll enjoy a return journey by train back to Fort William.

Today's journey takes us towards the magnificent Cairngorm Mountains and to Aviemore. All aboard the Strathspey Railway for a twenty-mile trip along a section of the original Highland Railway line! Winding along the river Spey, enjoy your journey through moorlands and wooded glens via the Boat of Garten and Broomhill. From here, we head to our final overnight hotel.

We begin the drive south, before crossing back over the border and returning home.

With dramatic mountain views and a stunning loch-side setting, this family-run hotel offers attractive, beautiful gardens and individually decorated ensuite bedrooms, each unique. Some rooms have panoramic views over the gardens to Loch Linnhe and the stunning scenery beyond. All rooms have satellite TV, radio, telephones, tea/coffee-making facilities and hairdryers.

Please note that this hotel does not have a lift. There are approximately twenty steps to the first-floor bedrooms.

England seek clarity over fears Pakistan tour may be moved

England head coach Brendon McCullum has admitted his team are in the dark as speculation swirls over whether their Test tour of Pakistan in October could be moved to another country.

England are due to play three Tests in Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi from October 7, but it seems increasingly likely that some or all of the tour could be moved to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates due to the redevelopment of stadia in Pakistan.

It is understood that the Karachi Test is certain to be moved, whether to Abu Dhabi or another Pakistani venue, most likely Multan.

Upgrades are taking place to the stadium in Karachi with an eye on the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is due to take place in the country. Questions surround India’s participation if the eight-team tournament takes place in Pakistan because of political tension, but it would be the first global event in the country since the 1996 World Cup. Stadiums in Rawalpindi and Lahore are also being upgraded for the tournament.

Moving countries would not be simple, and would represent a major embarrassment for the Pakistan Cricket Board, who have worked hard to lure tourists back to the country after years in exile. The women’s T20 World Cup has already been moved from Bangladesh to the UAE, which would leave Abu Dhabi as the only possible venue in the Emirates for Pakistan to host England. Sri Lanka and South Africa have even been mooted as more left-field options.

McCullum said England were aware of the talk of change, but had heard nothing firm on the matter. It is understood the PCB expect to make a decision in the next couple of days.

“We don’t really know,” said McCullum. “But we can’t pick a team until we know where we’re going to play. It would be nice if over the next couple of days, we found out. And then we’ll sit down and make sure we’ve got the right team for the right conditions and the right opposition.”

‘Uncertainty affecting everyone involved’

The Barmy Army, the intrepid England supporters group, issued a statement saying they are “frustrated” by the developments.

“With just over a month to go until the start of the Test series between England and Pakistan, we, like everyone else, remain in the dark about whether or not it will actually be played in Pakistan,” said managing director Chris Millard.

“Recent reports have suggested the series might have to be moved to another country due to construction work at certain stadiums. There is talk about the UAE and Sri Lanka as potential alternatives, but given the lack of clarification, that remains unclear.

“Since the schedule was announced, the Barmy Army has been working hard to give England fans the opportunity to travel to Multan, Karachi and Rawalpindi - all of which have already been visited by members of our team in preparation for this tour.

“The uncertainty around the schedule and host cities is affecting everyone involved, from us, the fans, to the England team. For us, the uncertainty is incredibly frustrating and fans are being left in the dark.”
