I’ve Been on 7 Disney Cruises, Here Are the Best Things for Adults to Do Onboard

With so many adult-centric spaces and activities, disney cruises for adults are just as much fun as they are for kids..

Megan duBois

  • I’ve been on seven Disney cruises and have sailed on all five Disney cruise ships.
  • You might be surprised to learn there are a ton of adults-only spaces and activities onboard and during shore excursions.
  • I’ve discovered that even adults traveling without kids can have a great time on a Disney cruise.

Disney Cruise Line vacations are one of my favorite ways to travel. I’ve been on seven sailings with Disney and have been lucky enough to cruise on all five ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Even though Disney is known for its family-friendly cruises where kids are allowed to be almost anywhere, there are some secluded spots on Disney’s cruise ships where children are strictly not allowed.

If you’re sailing with kids, the line’s kids club (called the Oceaneer Club) is available on every ship in the fleet and is a fun place for them to hang out under supervision while you enjoy an adults-only experience. But with so many adult-centric spaces and activities onboard and on land, you may want to consider booking a Disney Cruise without kids too. Here are my favorite things to do and places to be on a Disney Cruise for adults.

Indulge in a Spa Day at Senses Spa and Salon

Senses Spa on the Disney Wish (Photo: Disney Crusie Line)

The spa is a quiet oasis on every Disney cruise ship where you can truly sit back and relax without a care in the world. DCL’s Senses Spa and Salon offers everything from couples massages to facials and body wraps.

LOVE BOATS: 7 Best Cruise Lines for Couples (and Their Most Romantic Voyages)

One of my favorite hidden gems of the spa is the Rainforest Room. This area is available in every Senses Spa fleet-wide and you can book a pass for the day or for the length of your cruise. I always book a length-of-cruise pass because it allows me to come and go from the spa at my leisure, and I’ve found that I go for at least an hour every day of the sailing, even on port days. Passes do fill up quickly, so try to get to the spa the moment you get onto the ship to ensure you get the pass that you want.

The Rainforest Room features a series of showers that have different water pressure, temperature, and lighting effects, plus sound and smell to give you the sense of being in an actual rainforest. There are also saunas and heated tile loungers. On the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder , the Rainforest Room is fully enclosed with no view of the ocean. On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy , the space has a wall of windows that look out to the ocean near the heated loungers, plus two dipping pools. If you’re sailing on the Disney Wish , the Rainforest Room also has a private outdoor space with hot tubs, swings, and loungers—and an ice room so you can feel like Elsa singing “Let It Go.”

Dining Experiences on Disney Cruises for Adults

Remy is an adults-only restaurant on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy (Photo: Disney Cruise Line)

If you’re 18 or older and looking to get away from the main dining rooms for a date night or other special occasion, you can make a reservation at one of the four adult-exclusive dining options on your Disney Cruise ship.

On the Disney Magic , Disney Wonder , Disney Dream , and Disney Fantasy , Palo is an adults-only restaurant specializing in Northern Italian dishes. Dinner at Palo is a treat for pasta lovers, with dishes like potato gnocchi, penne arrabbiata, and butternut agnolotti.

NO KIDS ALLOWED: What You Need to Know Before Setting Sail on Virgin Voyages’s Adults-Only Cruises

My favorite meal at Palo is brunch, which is an impressive a la carte menu, but you can order as much as you want from the menu. Highlights of the meal for me include the wood-fired pizzas, house-made lasagna and chicken parmesan, and the wide range of desserts. Brunch is typically only served on sea days on the ships, so be sure to plan accordingly. You can book brunch through the Disney Cruise Line app before your sailing, or head straight to the restaurant when you get onto the ship to see if there’s any availability.

Remy is the second adults-only dining option on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy . The French restaurant is inspired by the movie Ratatouille and features a menu created by Lallement of Enchanté and Chef Scott Hunnel from Walt Disney World’s Victoria and Albert’s restaurant. After dining here on a recent cruise, I can say that Remy is worth the cost.

SET SAIL: 7 Best Disney Cruises for Families in 2024

Dinner starts out with a complimentary champagne cocktail called “Collette” after the female chef in Ratatouille . The restaurant has a seasonally rotating menu with ingredients from around the world, so adventurous eaters will be delighted to sample things they may not have tried before. Remy also offers a five-course dessert experience and a champagne brunch on sailings that are four nights or longer.

On the Disney Wish

If you’re sailing on the Disney Wish , you have the option of booking Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement , which is inspired by the Disney animated movie Beauty and the Beast . The French-inspired menu is a feast for the senses. If you can’t get in for dinner, you can also try booking the Champagne brunch (which is a prix fixe meal) or a five-course dessert menu.

Alternatively on the Disney Wish , you can try Palo Steakhouse , which is a new take on Disney’s signature adults-only Italian Restaurant Palo. Inside the steakhouse, you can choose from incredible Italian dishes and prime cuts of steak, including Japanese Miyazaki beef. Palo Steakhouse also offers a decadent brunch menu.

Some of the family-friendly rotational dining restaurants on the Disney Wish are perfectly suited to adult sensibilities as well. The dining room in 1923 serves up sensational California-inspired dishes in an elegant atmosphere, for example, and Worlds of Marvel is huge fun for super hero fans of all ages.

Bar Hopping During the Day or at Night

Craft cocktail fans, be sure to take time to try out all of the bars on Disney Cruise Line. Each one has a fun theme, and even though during the day they are used for family activities, after dark each space is adults-only. Each ship also hosts a variety of daytime cocktail classes that you can book, which is a great way to try a few drinks and learn a bit about bartending.

Disney Magic Bars

One of the newest spaces on the Disney Magic is Soul Cat Lounge , which is themed after the New York City jazz club from the Disney movie Soul . Inside, live music plays and there’s a small dance floor for those who want to feel the rhythm. The bar is known for its city-inspired cocktails like Manhattans and martinis.

EVERYTHING’S INCLUDED: 7 Best All-Inclusive Cruise Lines in the World

Other bars on the Disney Magic include Fathoms , which is where you’ll find all of the adults-only games and activities at night; Keys , which is the piano bar; and O’Gills Pub , where sports play during the day and beer and Irish whisky is served late into the night.

Disney Wonder Bars

If you’re sailing on the Disney Wonder then you’re privy to four adult-exclusive bars once the sun goes down. The French Quarter Lounge is themed after The Princess and The Frog and has a fun Mardi Gras vibe. The Crown and Fin Pub is where you should go for live sports and live music. For drinks with a show, head to the Cadillac Lounge , where you can sip on cocktails while singing along to iconic songs played by a live pianist. Azure is where most of the fun takes place each night with game shows and dancing into the wee hours of the morning.

Disney Dream Bars

The Disney Dream is my favorite and probably the best Disney cruise ship for adults (in my opinion) because its overall feel is perfect for me and my family. The ship has an entire adults-only bar area called The District, where there are five lounges and nightclubs: Pub 687 , District Lounge , Evolution , Pink: Wine and Champagne Bar , and Skyline . Of these bars, Skyline is my top pick because every few minutes the large “window” shows off a new destination city like New York, Hong Kong, and London.

BEFORE YOU BOOK: Everything You Need to Know about Disney’s Cruise Ships

If I really want to get away from everything, I head up to Meridian , the adults-only bar between Remy and Palo. Here, craft cocktails are expertly mixed, and a great view of the ocean wake is always on deck. There are also two outdoor patios on either side of the bar where you can enjoy your drink in complete peace.

Disney Fantasy Bars

Similar to the Disney Dream , Disney Fantasy has an enclosed adults-only district where multiple bars and lounges can be found. During the day, this space is used for family-friendly trivia and games, but at night crew checks to be sure there are no kids running around. The Disney Fantasy also features Meridian, so be sure to check it out between Palo and Remy.

Disney Wish Bars

The Disney Wish doesn’t have all of its adults-only bars clustered together like the other four Disney Cruise Line ships, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less fun to bar-hop. Keg and Compass is the sports bar onboard and The Bayou is known for its live music. And Star Wars fans are going to want to get reservations for Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge , where intergalactic drinks and otherworldly oddities are found. My favorite bar on the Disney Wish is Nightingale’s , which is themed after Cinderella , hosts nightly piano sing-a-longs, and has drinks to please just about everyone in your family.

HIDDEN GEMS: 6 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do on a Disney Cruise

Pools on Disney Cruises for Adults

The Quiet Cove Pool area is an adult oasis on many of Disney's cruise ships (Photo: Disney Cruise Line)

Each of the Disney cruise ships has an adults-only pool area. On the Disney Wish , the adults-only area features the cruise line’s first infinity pool. On the Disney Dream and Fantasy , the Quiet Cove Pool is a large pool with a swim-up bar and a whirlpool spa; there’s also separate wading pool where adults can enjoy the water, sunshine, and sounds of the ocean going by on deck 13. If you’re sailing on the Disney Magic or Disney Wonder , the Quiet Cove Pool has a large pool plus two whirlpool spas.

Adults-Only Port Adventures

You’re in luck if you plan on getting off of the cruise ship at any of its ports of call because there are some adults-only port adventures (what Disney calls excursions) to try. For example, in Antigua you can take a three-and-a-half-hour tour of the island where you’ll see local villages and the only working Georgian dockyard in the world, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Alaska, you can take a ride through Victoria, British Columbia , to see the Empress Hotel, Antique Row, and more, plus enjoy afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel.

Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay

If your cruise includes a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay , you can take the tram over to Serenity Bay. This adults-only beach has everything for a perfect beach day, from chairs and umbrellas to hammocks and a bar. Serenity Bay is also home to its own BBQ lunch spot, so you don’t have to walk to Cookies (on the kid-friendly side of the island) to have a meal.

Why You Should Consider an Adults Only Disney Cruise

Disney Magic docked in Key West, FL

“You don’t have any kids, why are you going on an adults only Disney Cruise ?”

“Isn’t a Disney Cruise just full of kids?

“What do you do for fun on an adults only Disney Cruise”?

As a childless couple, my husband and I are used to this line of questioning whenever we mention we have booked another cruise with Disney. If you’ve ever wondered if you would enjoy a Disney Cruise without children, I’m here to assure you you will! It is one of the most fun and relaxing trips you will ever take. Whether you’re a childless couple, parents looking for a well-deserved getaway, or a group of friends looking for a great time, keep reading to discover all the ways Disney takes care of their grown-up guests!

Adult Only Areas

A frequent concern of those considering an adults only Disney Cruise is “will I be able to get away from children”? You can rest easy because DCL has done a fantastic job of creating inviting spaces just for adults.

Senses Spa & Salon

Looking for a little rest and relaxation while away from home? The crew members in Senses Spa have you covered. This full-service spa has a complete menu of services to help drive all your worries away. You can treat yourself to a full-body massage, a relaxing Mani-Pedi combo, a refreshing facial, and so much more. In need of a quick cut or blow-dry to look your best before Formal Night? The salon has you covered. Men can even get a fresh shave! The Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, even has a dedicated barbershop – Hook’s Barbery. Here you can enjoy a smoked Old Fashion during your cut and shave.

Hook's Barbery

Heated lounge-chairs, saunas, and aroma showers can be found inside the Rainforest Room within Senses Spa . The Disney Wish even includes a private, outdoor sundeck available for only to those with Rainforest access. You have to purchase a pass to enjoy the Rainforest Room and passes are available for either a single-day or the length of your cruise. Passes are limited to ensure you have the space to stretch out and de-stress. You’ll want to pre-purchase your pass and or head straight to the spa on embarkation day.

Rainforest Room sundeck on the Disney Wish

One more feature of the spa is the Fitness Center loaded with all the strength and cardio equipment you need to continue your exercise routines while enjoying the high seas. Locker rooms, with spacious, private showers are adjacent to the fitness center. Guests 14-17 years old can use the gym only if accompanied by an adult. So you can workout without having to constantly look over your shoulder. Group fitness classes, such as yoga and Pilates, and personal training sessions are available for additional costs. Fresh towels, bananas, and fruit-infused water is available in the fitness center. There is also a juice bar located right outside the Fitness Center near the Senses Spa welcome desk.

On each cruise, the Sense Spa staff holds a raffle for various treatments on embarkation. Check your Personal Navigator for the time of the raffle.

Adult Pool Deck

Quiet Cove infinity pool on the Disney Wish

All five Disney ships feature an area on the pool deck that is reserved for guests 18+. This area’s main feature is the Quiet Cove Pool , allowing you to take a dip without having to watch out for incoming cannon balls. The Disney Wish features a gorgeous infinity pool at the ships aft that is reserved only for guests 18 and older. There are also hot tubs available for those in need of a relaxing soak. These pools are generally open until midnight but guests should check the daily navigator for current hours.

Enjoy a dip or a drink at the Quiet Cove Pool on the Disney Fantasy

The Disney Dream and Fantasy also feature Satellite Falls , a circular wading pool with a gentle, cascading rainfall from a centralized orb. Go all the way in for a peaceful shower, or just dip your toes in while relaxing friends.

Cove Cafe is an adults only lounge on the pool deck offering specialty drinks and coffees for an additional cost. There are also a variety of fresh pastries and desserts included in your cruise fare.

Cove Cafe on the Disney Wish

Each ship also features an outdoor bar close to Quiet Cove Pool – Signals on the Magic and Wonder, and Currents on the Dream and Fantasy. Roaming servers can even take your order while you’re lounging on a deck chair.

Bars, Clubs, & Lounges

There are additional venues throughout the ship for adult guests who like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage during vacation.

Each of the original four ships has its own themed night-time district that is strictly for adults 18+ in the evenings. These areas feature a variety of venues and nightly entertainment just for grown ups.

After Hours Adult Entertainment Entrance on the Disney Wonder

The nighttime district on the Magic and Wonder is known as After Hours , the Dream is home to The District , and the Fantasy brings Europe to life in Europa. Each of these areas has its own nightclub, sports pub, and various lounges like Cadillac Lounge , a piano bar on the Disney Wonder, and Pink , a wine and champagne lounge found on the Disney Dream.

Cadillac Lounge on the Disney Wonder

Outside the nighttime district, adults can find drinks at a few other bars and lounges across the ships. These include Preludes outside the Walt Disney Theatre on all four ships where guests can grab a beverage before taking in the nightly stage performance, the Promenade Lounge on the Magic and Wonder, Bon Voyage off the atrium on the Dream and Fantasy, and my personal favorite – Meridian , an aft-facing lounge with indoor and outdoor seating located outside Palo and Remy on the Dream and Fantasy.

Disney Cruise Line completely reimagined the adult lounges on the Disney Wish. Instead of being located in one primary area, lounges and bars on the Wish are scattered across the entire ship.  The Rose,  located on Deck 11, features amazing sea views with floor to ceiling windows. This is a great spot to grab a drink before dinner at  Palo or  Enchanté,  which are both at right off of this lounge. At  the Star Wars inspired Hyperspace Lounge , on Deck 4, guests can enjoy out this world cocktails and brews while jumping into hyperspace to visit several galaxies far far away. Children are allowed in Hyperspace lounge until 9pm, after which it becomes an adults-only venue. There are several other lounges onboard including a piano bar called  Nightingales , a New Orleans-inspired lounge  The Bayou , and cafes Enchanted Sword and  Wishing Star .

Hyperspace Lounge on the Disney Wish

Drink Specials

While DCL does not offer unlimited drink packages, there are still several ways for you to save money. Everyday there is a ‘Drink of the Day’, including classic cocktails like the Captain’s Mai Tai or Mojito. These are available throughout the day for a lower-than-usual price. Beer-drinkers can purchase a refillable 22oz. beer mug which can be refilled for the price of a 16oz beer. The best part is you don’t have to walk around with the mug as your bartender will give you a token you can exchange for a fresh beer whenever you’re ready. You get to take home either the mug or the token and bring it back on your next cruise! Your main dining servers will tell you all about the available Wine Packages which offer savings of about 25% compared to buying separate bottles. 3-, 4-, 5-, and 7-Night packages are available no matter the length of your cruise.

Serenity Bay

Perhaps my favorite of all the DCL adult-only areas is Serenity Bay , an adults only beach located on Disney’s Private Island Castaway Cay . Guests 18+ can visit Serenity Bay by taking a tram down to the secluded beach area that’s full of lounge chairs and hammocks. And there are no kids in sight! You can rent floats and snorkeling gear nearby  if you’d like to explore the Bahamian Waters. There is a full-service bar serving up your favorite tropical cocktail. Servers even walk up and down the beach taking drink orders. When you are ready for lunch you can head to the nearby Serenity Bay BBQ and choose from a selection of salads, fresh fruits, grilled items, and desserts. And while the Castaway Cay 5K isn’t reserved only for adults, it is a popular activity for those looking to get in some exercise before spending the rest of the day relaxing on the beach. And whether you participate in the 5K or not, you can relax your muscles by purchasing a couples massage in a private cabana on Serenity Bay .

The beautiful & peaceful beach of Serenity Bay on Disney's Castaway Cay

Rotational Dining

When it comes to dining , Disney Cruise Line goes above and beyond to cater to every guest. The main dining rooms are an experience in and of themselves. You can attend Rapunzel’s birthday while dining at Rapunzel’s Royal Table on the Disney Magic, hear live Jazz music at Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder, and become a Disney animator at Animator’s Palate on all four Disney ships. If you don’t want to spend dinner with loud children, opt for Second Seating as most families prefer the earlier, Main Seating. You will still see children during Second Seating, but there are noticeably fewer.

Jazz trio featured in Tiana's Place on the Disney Wonder

And no need to worry about being sat at a table with children – Disney works its magic and chooses your table mates based on stateroom demographics. You are likely to be sat with people around your age and in similar relationships as you. We have sat with other childless couples and adult friends traveling together. You can make some wonderful friends this way.  We even recently took a cruise with another couple we met when we were table mates on a previous cruise.

Disney is known world-wide for its exceptional service and that is on full display in the DCL dining rooms. Disney Cruise Line broke the traditional cruise dining model by creating rotational dining. Rotational dining allows guests to experience all three of the main dining rooms. The best part is that your service team travels with you each night. This allows you and your servers to get to know each other well. No need to explain your allergies and preferences every night to a new server. Have a gluten allergy? Don’t stress because your servers already know and have options ready for you. If you like to start your meal with a particular soft drink, it will be on the table waiting for you when you sit down. They will help you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special occasion. Your service team will become close friends by the end of your voyage!

Adult-Only Dining

Another way that Disney sets itself apart is with their adult-exclusive dining rooms: Palo , Remy , & Enchanté . All three restaurants are 18+ and have a dress-code that helps to set a more mature, intimate atmosphere. Each restaurant requires a reservation. Reservations can be made onboard, but I recommend making them before you arrive via the DCL website or app.

Open for dinner each night of your cruise, and for brunch most sea days, Palo is a fine-dining Italian restaurant that can be found on all four Disney ships. Brunch is an additional $45 while the Dinner menu offers a $45 prix fixe option or you can purchase items a la carte. At Brunch, choose from a variety of fresh foods, including tons of seafood, off the buffet as well as order from an a la carte menu. I’d recommend the Chicken Parmesan or the Eggs Benedict from the a la carte menu, and the sticky buns on the buffet are a must! The Disney Wish has a slightly different menu than the other ships as it is steak-house inspired. The dinner menu on all ships is phenomenal and you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. But I recommend listening to the suggestions of your server. For desert – you will not regret ordering the chocolate soufflé !

Chocolate soufflé from Palo on Disney Cruise Line

Remy , an upscale French restaurant on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, offers three experiences: Dinner ($125/person), Champagne Brunch ($75/person), and a Dessert Experience ($60/person). The most popular experience is the dinner which starts with a Champagne cocktail your server prepares table-side. Your server will then lead you through multiple courses of small plates from one of two set-menus crafted by the award winning chefs. You can also choose each course a la carte if you want to customize your experience a little more. Either way, each dish presented will be of the finest quality French cuisine is known for. If that’s not enough food, you will find a small “thank you” box of chocolates waiting for you when you arrive back to your stateroom after dinner.

Seating at Remy on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream

To get the most out of your adults only Disney Cruise I’d recommend booking a dinner at either restaurant depending on which ship you are sailing on. If possible, I’d even splurge for a brunch as well!

Enchanté,  a French restaurant by Chef Arnaud Lallement, is currently only found on the Disney Wish. This gorgeous  Beauty & the Beast- inspired located features elegant décor and beautiful vistas. There are a couple of prix fixe menus available for $125 and $195. You also have the option to order a la carte items. The even have a “Just Desserts” meal for $60 per person.

Entertainment

Fun for all ages.

Cruising is my favorite kind of vacation for a number of reasons but mainly because of the balance of relaxation and fun. Disney does a fantastic job of filling the days with activities for everyone, no matter their interest. Even as an adult, there is no better place to let out your inner child than a Disney cruise. Adults are welcome to meet all their favorite characters like Mickey & Minnie, Anna & Elsa, Chip & Dale, and many more.

Meeting Chip n Dale on Disney Cruise Line

Broadway-Style Stage Shows

Be sure to check out the Broadway-style stage performances in Walt Disney Theatre featuring Tangled the Musical on the Disney Magic, Frozen the Musical on the Wonder & Fantasy, Beauty and the Beast the Musical on the Disney Dream, Aladdin – a Musical Spectacular and The Little Mermaid on the Disney Wish. Those are just a few of the award winning shows that you can enjoy on your cruise!

Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Magic decorated for Tangled The Musical

First Run Disney-Owned Films

Each ship also features a movie theater(s) showing first-run Disney-owned films, all included in your cruise fare. Here you can check out the latest from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Animation, and more! If you happen to be on a ship while a Disney movie is premiering on land, DCL will even hold a PremEAR at Sea event and show the movie at midnight the night it comes out.  You can also catch Disney films outside on the top deck on the large  Funnel Vision  screen. Some of my favorite DCL memories involve grabbing an ice cream and watching a movie under the stars!

Water Attractions

Water slides and attractions aren’t reserved just for the kids either. You can take a trip all the way around the top deck on the AquaDuck , an elevated water-coaster that goes out over the edge of the ship, on the Disney Dream and Fantasy. The Disney Wish features Disney’s first attraction at sea – the AquaMouse . Or for a more thrilling experience, check out the AquaDunk , a high speed water slide that drops you straight down 3 stories on the Disney Magic.

Aquamouse on the Disney Wish

Parties & Events

The party never stops on Disney Cruise Line with multiple deck parties and atrium dance parties occurring throughout your trip. Mickey & the Gang will get you excited for your adventure during the Sail Away Party as the ship officially sets sail. Adults should pack their best pirate gear and dance the night away during the Pirates IN the Caribbean deck party on select cruises. Disney is also currently the only cruise line with a fireworks show at sea! These events are for guests of all ages so don’t hesitate to break out your boogey shoes.

Sail Away Party with Chip n Dale on the Disney Magic

Adult-Exclusive Entertainment

Ready to party with those your own age? DCL puts on adult-exclusive entertainment each and every night in the adult-only districts mentioned above. Each night the DCL entertainment team will keep you entertained with various game shows like Match Your Mate , a newlywed style game that gives you the chance to get to know your fellow cruisers very very well. Many nights will also feature an adult-orientated show from the current onboard acts, including comedians, magicians, musical acts, and more. The night usually ends with a dance party, karaoke performances, or my favorite – a Silent DJ Disco! For a more relaxed night you can check out the ship’s piano bar featuring live music almost every night.

And it’s not just at night that you’ll find adult-only activities. Throughout the day you can head to one of the adult spaces for trivia or a fantasy sports draft. You can also sign up for a beverage tasting, at an additional cost, throughout your sailing. Your bar staff will lead Mixology classes and tastings including: wine, beer, champagne, whiskey, and more. These classes allow you to taste and learn about the various drinks available on the ship. Select cruises offer  Canvas & Cocktails , a painting class where you learn to paint a Disney-inspired picture while sipping craft cocktails. In a more low-key mood? Head to the sports pub to watch a live sports event or grab an available board game.

Canvas & Cocktails adult painting class on Disney Cruise Line

Adult-Only Excursions

There are not many onboard activities offer when the ship is docked, but adults can continue doing their own thing while exploring the port. Disney Cruise Line has several port adventures that are only offered to adults. Adult-only excursions include snorkeling on Castaway Cay, rum tasting in Puerto Rico, and a trip to Blarney Castle in Ireland, to name a few.

Additional Offerings

If you’re still not convinced that you need to book an adults only Disney Cruise let me tell you about a few more extras that come along with sailing with the Mouse.

Guest Can Bring Alcohol Onboard

I mentioned earlier the plethora of bars and lounges that offer adult beverages as well as the various drink specials. But did you know that unlike a lot of other cruise lines, Disney let’s adults bring alcohol onboard? Each adult in your stateroom can carry on either two-750ml bottles of wine/champagne or six-12oz. beers. Any alcohol brought on board is to be consumed in your stateroom. This makes for a great pre-dinner drink while sitting out on your verandah!

If you need work or want to keep up with family and friends back on land, Disney does have WiFi available. Packages can be purchased for a single day or for the duration of your sailing:

  • Stay Connected : Starting at $12/day, this plan is perfect for those who are just looking to keep up with their social media accounts.
  • Basic Surf : Starting at $24/day, this plan gives guests access to social media, email, web browsing, and audio calls.
  • Premium Surf : Starting at $36/day, this plan supports faster internet connect, gives the ability to make video calls, and view short-form videos on platforms like YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok.

There is a Connect @ Sea desk that offers internet support should you ever need it throughout the cruise.

DCL Navigator App

Another great feature of DCL is the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App that you can use onboard without having to purchase any WiFi. You can use the app to see a schedule of activities, check out menus, send messages, and more. You can also use the app prior to setting sail to book port adventures, make adult-dining reservations, select spa services, or even buy in-room gifts that will be there waiting for you once you embark.

And finally, adults should not overlook the shopping Disney Cruise Line has to offer. You can of course purchase the typical Disney souvenirs like Mickey ears and t-shirts, as well as cruise line-exclusive items. You can also purchase high-end items such as nice set of luggage, watches & jewelry, as well as duty-free alcohol and perfumes. Duty-free alcohol purchased is not able to be consumed while onboard and will be held until the end of your cruise.

Time to Set Sail!

Reconnect on an adults-only Disney Cruise

As you have now read, DCL has so much to offer to their adult guests. Whether you want to let your inner-child loose or to relax and recharge your batteries, you can find exactly what you are looking for on Disney Cruise Line. Best Disney cruise ships for everyone — even Disney adults

Ashley Kosciolek

Disney cruises are the stuff of magic, but they're also magically expensive. Before you shell out thousands per day on a vacation, you likely want to know: What's the best Disney ship for fans? What's the best Disney ship for adults? Which ship, if any, will work for me if I'm traveling by myself or with babies, kids or teens?

Disney Cruise Line is a brand that excels at providing both fun and luxurious experiences. With a fleet that has just three classes and five ships, Disney can focus on making sure that each vessel lives up to The Mouse's high standards for many types of cruisers. In other words, whichever vessel you choose, you'll likely have a great time.

However, there are subtle nuances that determine the best Disney ships for certain travelers. I'll help you figure out which Disney cruise ship is best so you can get the most out of a voyage in the happiest place on the high seas.

Disney Fantasy: Best Disney cruise ship for adults

disney magic cruise adults only

Because the line excels at providing family-friendly and kid-focused amenities, when it comes to a Disney cruise, adults often wonder whether they would enjoy themselves if they were to sail. Fortunately, the answer is almost always yes — Disney cruise ships are great for adults .

Disney Cruise Line does the little things well. Travelers of all ages can enjoy character interactions and appreciate thoughtfully laid-out cabins.

If you're worried you'll be outnumbered by kids or elicit weird looks for sailing as a Disney adult, never fear. Bring your mouse ears, and prepare for some fun. Or, if you want, avoid the kitschy Disney stuff, and enjoy the terrific entertainment and superb food offerings mixed with stellar service.

All Disney ships have adults-only sun decks and pool areas that are closed to kids, as well as bars and clubs that are off-limits to anyone younger than 18.

With that in mind, one vessel stands out for the older set: Disney Fantasy.

The ship boasts a dozen bars, including three exclusive to the vessel. In addition to bars in the atrium, by the pool and sun deck, and in the theater, you'll also find the Europa area, which is only for adults after 9 p.m.

It's got five watering holes; among them are an Irish pub and a lounge that offers views of major European cities via LED screens that change every 15 minutes. But the standouts are French Champagne bar Ooh La La; La Piazza, which is carousel themed and gives off Italian vibes; and The Tube, a club with a London Underground theme that hosts trivia by day.

What's also great about the ship for adults is that it's a mid-sized vessel. It's big enough to offer plenty of activities but smaller than the new behemoth Disney Wish, which features grown-up areas that are spread out instead of conveniently clustered like they are on Disney Fantasy.

Finally, if you're an adult who's hoping to steer as clear of children as possible while still enjoying your own Disney experience, know that Disney Fantasy has a tremendous kids club. It features Andy's room from "Toy Story," as well as a Tinkerbell-themed play area and the Marvel Superhero Academy, where little ones can learn to fight crime. It's so impressive that kids likely won't want to leave, meaning fewer little ones will be running wild around the ship.

Disney Wish: Best Disney cruise ship for families

disney magic cruise adults only

Disney cruises are, hands down, the best in the industry when it comes to sailings for families with children . From thoughtful cabin design that allows for more privacy and bathroom space to character interactions, free soda, complimentary first-run movie screenings and special menus in the restaurants, the brand understands and delivers on what appeals to the youngest cruisers.

Parents will love the line's infant and toddler babysitting offerings and little — but significant — touches like the availability of kid-size life jackets by the pools.

However, the true standout is the children's programming in the onboard youth centers. Disney's sizeable kids clubs are supervised and designed to include immersive experiences that tie in with Disney's franchises and characters. (Think "Toy Story," Marvel, "Star Wars" and more.)

The best Disney ship for families is Disney Wish ; it earns high marks whether you're traveling with babies, toddlers, school-age kids or teens.

Below, I'll explain why the line's newest, largest vessel is ideal.

Disney Wish: Best Disney cruise ship for kids

disney magic cruise adults only

Disney Cruise Line's kids club, the Oceaneer Club (for ages 3-12), is cavernous. It has five separate sections on Disney Wish, including Mickey and Minnie's Captain's Deck and Fairytale Hall, which offer climbing structures and princess play for younger children. Kids will also be able to walk into a scene from "Star Wars" in Star Wars Cargo Bay, learn how to save the world at the Marvel Superhero Academy and participate in STEM projects at the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab.

The spaces are so fun that you're likely to see very little of your children during a sailing on Disney Wish. You might even be disappointed that you can't spend time there yourself.

The best part? It's all free, and there is dedicated youth staff that oversees each day's activities, as well as nighttime movie-watching and dance parties while parents enjoy some time out and about. Oh, and did I mention there's a slide that takes kids from the ship's stunning atrium down one deck to the entrance?

Outside the Oceaneer Club, kids will love Disney Wish's top-deck activities, which include mini-golf, an obstacle course, pools and waterslides. Don't miss the AquaMouse, a raft-based attraction with digital elements and see-through tubing.

The whole family can also enjoy Pirate Night, offered once per sailing. On the agenda are fireworks and appearances by Captain Jack Sparrow. Passengers are wholeheartedly encouraged to dress up.

Regarding dining, children will enjoy not only special kids' menus but also the themed, interactive atmosphere in two of the ship's three main dining rooms: Worlds of Marvel and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure . The former amuses passengers with Ant-Man's antics after he accidentally shrinks Disney Wish with a Quantum Core. The latter is an engagement celebration for Anna and Kristoff, featuring live characters.

Disney Wish: Best Disney cruise ship for teens and tweens

disney magic cruise adults only

For teens and tweens, Disney Wish's dedicated lounges are the feature that's likely to be most enticing, offering a more relaxed "come and go" atmosphere that's supervised but less structured. Both clubs have areas for foosball and mocktails, and they offer a general meeting place for kids in the following age groups to find their friends and hang out.

Edge is the vessel's tween club, which offers video and board games and brightly colored decor for the 11- to 14-year-old set.

disney magic cruise adults only

Vibe is the teen club for 14- to 17-year-olds. It's a slightly more muted space with giant TVs for movie watching and video game play, plus a high-top bar area for teens needing a place to plug in their laptops and tablets. A second room can be sealed off for use by 18- to 20-year-olds on voyages with enough young adults to warrant it.

And for older kids into "Star Wars," the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge is an immersive way to enjoy some themed fun in a more adult setting. The bar — open to all ages until 9 p.m., when it becomes an adults-only venue — takes visitors on a trip through the galaxy. A screen behind the bar changes every few minutes, with the room making noises and jumping to "hyperspace" to reach the next destination.

disney magic cruise adults only

For anyone younger than the legal drinking age, the venue's menu offers some nonalcoholic options, including the Cloud City (oat milk with blue raspberry and ice cream) and the Temple Twist (apple, mint, pineapple, ginger beer and kiwi).

disney magic cruise adults only

When they aren't busy lounging, teens might also enjoy Uncharted Adventure, a digital scavenger hunt that will take them around the ship to find interactive clues using their mobile phones. A bit of magic is involved, but it's the kind even a skeptical teenager might find interesting.

For more sporty fun, teens can check out the ship's waterslides or the indoor sports court, where they can play basketball or foosball.

Disney Wish: Best Disney cruise ship for babies and toddlers

disney magic cruise adults only

Returning on Disney Wish is parent favorite It's a Small World Nursery. The expanded space caters to children from 6 months to 3 years old. It has a nap room with cribs, a changing area and an activity room with floormats, age-appropriate toys and a TV.

Dedicated counselors offer group babysitting in the nursery for the littlest cruisers on a first come, first served basis for $9 per hour for the first child and $8 per hour for any additional children in the same family. Counselors will feed and change, as necessary, any infants or toddlers in their care.

Disney Magic: Best Disney cruise ship for singles

disney magic cruise adults only

Built in 1998, Disney Magic is the oldest vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. That means it's also one of the least expensive, which is important if you're sailing alone and stuck paying a single supplement. (Disney ships do not have cabins for one.)

Additionally, it's one of the two smallest Disney Cruise Line ships. Its size creates a more intimate experience, particularly in the adult areas, where you can meet other cruisers traveling alone.

Disney Magic retains a nautical feel that's more mature than what you'll find on Disney Wish, which feels more like a mainstream megaship. However, Magic retains the "wow" factor, featuring well-appointed cabins, excellent dining options and jaw-dropping entertainment that rivals what you'd find on Broadway.

Disney Cruise Line also does a great job of seating solo cruisers together during meals so they don't have to dine alone. If you prefer a table by yourself, ask the dining staff. You can also take meals at the buffet, order room service, or check out one of the ship's alternative eateries, including adults-only Italian restaurant Palo , O'Gill's pub or several poolside venues.

Disney Wonder: Best Disney ship for West Coast cruisers

disney magic cruise adults only

With Florida serving as the undisputed cruise capital of the world, travelers living on the West Coast are often out of luck. Not so with Disney Cruise Line.

The best Disney ship for people wishing to set sail from California or Vancouver is Disney Wonder. One of the line's two oldest vessels, it runs three- and four-night springtime voyages from San Diego to Baja California with calls on Ensenada, Mexico, and five- to nine-night Alaska sailings departing from Vancouver in the summer and fall.

Don't let the ship's age fool you. The line does a tremendous job of maintaining it, so it looks nearly new. Service, food and entertainment live up to Disney's high standards.

If you're looking for something different than Disney's standard West Coast offerings, you can also snag one-way repositioning voyages when the ship changes locations seasonally. Examples include sailings from San Diego to Vancouver or from Vancouver to Honolulu.

Disney Dream: Best Disney cruise ship for longer voyages

disney magic cruise adults only

Most of Disney's sailings are short, whisking passengers away for three to five days. The itineraries are fairly standard, featuring port calls in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, including the line's private island, Castaway Cay .

If you're craving something a bit longer or want to visit a far-flung destination, Disney Dream is the ship you'll want to book.

Offering 10-, 11- and 12-night voyages in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, Disney Dream takes passengers to ports like Rome (Civitavecchia), Florence (Livorno), Barcelona, Athens, Santorini, Southampton, Reykjavik and Copenhagen.

Remember that all of Disney Dream's Europe cruises depart from within Europe, so you'll need to factor flights — potentially costly open-jaw ones — into your budget.

Bottom line

Disney has something for every cruiser, regardless of age, whether you're a parent or a Disney adult, and whether you choose to cruise alone or with friends or family.

The sailings can be expensive, so you'll want to book the best ship for you before you make such a sizeable investment. Luckily, Disney Cruise Line's five ships offer a variety of experiences for all sorts of travelers.

Disney Cruise Line Adult Only Experiences- Private Pool, Wine Tastings, Spa

disney magic cruise adults only

Disney Cruise Line offers so many adult exclusive experiences and areas for adults to enjoy! Since the Disney Cruise Line includes areas for kids and teens to enjoy, this gives parents the chance to enjoy time on their own. Or for adults enjoying a Disney Cruise without kids, this is a great way to enjoy the ship in adult atmospheres.

All the Disney Cruise ships include adult only areas and experiences with some variation on offerings. But most ships all include a spa, a private adult area pool and bar, coffee bar, wine tastings or cocktail classes, and adult only dining experiences. Many of these come at an additional cost but can be worth it if you are looking to relax on your cruise and indulge.

During my recent experience on a Disney Cruise I took advantage of all the adult offerings while my son enjoyed the youth areas on the ship and this guide provides an overview of all the offerings plus my review on the spa offerings, wine tasting, adult only pool areas, and more.

What Is Adult Exclusive On A Disney Cruise?

Adult exclusive on a Disney Cruise means that these experiences and areas of the ship are reserved for guests ages 18 and older. And yes, Disney Cruise cast members might ask younger looking guests to see their Key to the World card to verify they meet the age requirement.

These experiences exist so adults can have their own areas to relax because let's face it, the kids pool has a much different atmosphere than a pool reserved for just adults! And that's just one example. The dining experiences, lounges, and entertainment will have a much different atmosphere since it's reserved for adults.

Disney Cruise Exclusive Adult Pool Areas

Each Disney Cruise ship will have an adult only pool area that will include a pool, hot tub, and nearby bar.

pool on disney cruise

This area can get crowded especially in the later afternoon. If you want to enjoy the area before it gets too crowded then showing up before lunch time is the best bet. It will be most crowded after that point.

I loved this area of the ship on the Disney Dream , the hot tub was definitely the biggest perk as the hot tub in the kid's pool area is always filled with smaller kids splashing and jumping. This is the place to go if you want to enjoy a more relaxing hot tub experience!

The layout of the adult only pool sections on each Disney Cruise ship will vary but every ship does have a dedicated pool space just for adults.

Disney Cruise Senses Spa & Salon

Each Disney Cruise Line ship features the Senses Spa & Salon. Senses offers an immense wide range of services from massages, basic salon services like haircuts and pedicures, and even teeth whitening.

There's also a wide selection of cosmetic body and facial treatments offered like dermal filler, skin tightening, cool body sculpting, and Dysport (similar to Botox).

All of these services come at an additional cost and are not included in the cost of your cruise. You can also expect to pay more for these services than you would at a local salon or med spa so that's also something to keep in mind. The cosmetic treatments require a free 30 minute consultation and they will give you a price depending on that. It does appear you have some room to get the price down in those meetings so keep that in mind if you're interested.

There are also many free classes and consultations available at the spa throughout the cruise. Some of these will provide you the chance to sample the products sold in the spa (the brand of choice for most cruise lines, including Disney, is Elemis) which can be a fun way to fill an afternoon at sea. Keep in mind that these mini free classes often come with a sales pitch at the end either to purchase the products or book an spa treatment.

Guests 13 to 17 years of age can have services and treatments under 2 conditions: a parent or guardian must book the services and treatments, and a parent or guardian must accompany them for the duration of the treatment. I didn't see any teens in the spa during my time there so I am unsure how common it is but it's nice to give them the option. They do offer teen specific facials according to one of our friends on the cruise which is a nice luxury for teens to enjoy.

You can read all about the different services offered at the Disney Cruise Senses Spa & Salon on the Disney website.

Disney Cruise Rainforest Room

One area that is worth splurging in during your stay is access to the Rainforest Room!

rainforest room

You can book this per day or for the duration of your stay but it gives you access to the spa's rainforest-themed aromatherapy steam rooms, a dry sauna fashioned after a Roman bath, stone heated beds, hot tubs, and more.

hot tub on Disney Cruise

On the Disney Dream, the hot tub overlooks the water and made for such a tranquil experience.

rainforest room on disney drema

The heated stone beds were heaven to lay on!

Prices change depending on the duration of your cruise but a Day Pass to the Rainforest Room is usually around $39 per person and a voyage length pass could be as high as $189 for an eight night sailing. Passes are extremely limited in order to keep the area peaceful and not crowded. If you are interested in booking, visit the Senses Spa & Salon on embarkation day and sign up.

Adult Only Disney Cruise Dining & Lounges

All of the Disney Cruise ships have adult exclusive lounges and dining options. This is also where many adult only events take place during your cruise. Sometimes the lounges will offer all ages events but they will mainly be adults only.

As for adult exclusive dining options, these include:

  • Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement- Disney Wish
  • Palo Steakhouse- Disney Wish
  • Palo- Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy
  • Remy- Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy
  • Senses Juice Bar- Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy

Remy is popular for brunch and books up quickly. Palo is on every Disney Cruise ship so it's the dining experience that most cruisers are familiar with. Senses Juice Bar is located in the Senses Spa & Salon which makes it an easy pick me up after a spa experience.

All of these dining experiences come at an additional cost and are not included in the cost of your cruise.

Disney Cruise bar

For lounges, these will vary depending on your Disney Cruise ship. The newer ships like the Disney Wish and the upcoming Disney Treasure , feature Disney themed options like a Star Wars lounge and Disney theme park attraction lounges.

Disney Cruise coffee with elsa

Cove Cafe is an adult exclusive coffee and bar lounge which is a nice getaway for adults to enjoy a peaceful cup of coffee. And of course, you can find the lattes with Disney artwork here too.

Adult Exclusive Disney Cruise Activities

There are plenty of adult only activities on the Disney Cruise ships to enjoy during your cruise. These range in variety from Disney character drawing classes in the lounges to night club events to wine tasting. There is so much to do for adults on a Disney Cruise!

I especially appreciate how a Disney Cruise makes the adult exclusive events not just focused on alcohol. It was fun to draw a Disney character with other adults in a more serene setting than the family drawing classes.

disney magic cruise adults only

But if you're looking for places to enjoy good drinks, all the Disney Cruise ships offer that too! You can get a great variety of cocktails on the ships including the neat champagne cocktail flight (seen above) I enjoyed with friends during our last cruise. They even served it with chocolate to pair which was a nice touch.

wine tasting

I enjoyed one of the wine tasting experiences during my last Disney Cruise which was a fun way to spend the evening at sea. The wine tasting cost $55 and included six different wines to try, a bottle of water, and a pin. The wine tasting lasted about an hour and the cast member leading the tasting was extremely knowledgable about wine.

disney magic cruise adults only

Depending on the entertainment lineup, there may even be adult exclusive version of the dinner shows. During my last Disney Cruise, one of the dinner shows featured Eric Jones Magic from America's Got Talent and Penn & Teller. The same evening, there was an adult exclusive show with Eric Jones Magic that was a similar version of the earlier show but with more adult humor. This was a really cool offering. I happened to run into Eric Jones before he performed which was a fun ‘meet and greet' in its own right.

Disney adult entertainemnt

The Disney Cruise Line app is your go to place for locating all these adult only activities during your Disney Cruise! There will be events going on each night in the lounges so make sure to look at the schedule and see what's available.

Adults can find plenty to do onboard a Disney Cruise ship whether you partake in some of the additional cost experiences or activities or just enjoy the complimentary entertainment for adults.

5 Things Only For Adults On Disney Cruise Line

' src=

While Disney Cruise Line is absolutely the best cruise line for families, don't be scared to book a Disney cruise if you're traveling without kids. Or, if you are traveling with kids but crave some quiet time just you and your partner, there is plenty to do. After many experiences aboard Disney Cruise Line, I can safely say it is one of the best cruises for couples.

My husband, preschool-age son, and I sailed aboard the Disney Dream for four nights last year. And we recently enjoyed 7 nights aboard the Disney Fantasy. We loved many of the Disney Cruise Line features just for adults. There are so many adult amenities it is possible for you to enjoy a Disney Cruise while hardly ever seeing any kids. I promise.

Let's set sail to take a look at the wonderful things just for adults on Disney Cruise Line.

Relax at Adult Only Pools and Hot Tubs

The adults-only pools and hot tubs are alluring. Each Disney Cruise ship has the Quiet Cove Pool which is located towards the front of the ship or “Forward”. This relaxing pool makes it easy to get into vacation mode. Instrumental, calm music wafts over the air, and nearby bars beckon. In this adults-only pool deck you're able to escape the high energy of the family pools. And if you do have kids on board, you're just steps away from the main areas if you need to access them.

Outdoor Lounge Area of Cove Cafe Disney Cruise Line Adults Only Area features an adult pool with multiple circular sections

The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder served as Disney Cruise Line's first ships and are therefore smaller than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. This means the two newer ships, the Dream and the Fantasy, have an additional adults-only pool deck which is on Deck 13 Forward.

My husband and I fell in love with the Satellite Falls Pool which is on this second adults-only deck. It is circular and shallow, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The Dream and the Fantasy also have hot tubs with a clear thick glass portion that allows you to overlook the ocean, (this is different than the Magic and Wonder's.)

Hot tub overlooking the ocean in the adults only pool deck on Disney Dream includes a clear thick glass panel to see the ocean

Disney's newest ship, the Disney Wish, features an infinity pool. This is the first time a Disney cruise ship has offered an infinity pool. This adults-only pool is at the back of the ship. The adults pool area aboard the Disney Wish is quiet small compared to the other Disney Ships.

Cove Cafe Adults Only Coffee Shop and Lounge

Ever since I set sail aboard Disney Cruise Line for the first time, some fifteen years ago, Cove Cafe became an instant favorite. This coffee shop and lounge is found on each Disney Cruise ship. Besides offering robust coffee beverages and teas, it also serves as a relaxing lounge to grab a cocktail.

There is a small case offering sweet treats throughout the day, included in the price of your cruise. Bring along a book or a magazine and feel yourself unwind here. Take a look on the walls and admire the incredible photos of Walt Disney himself on his travels and around Disneyland in California.

Lounge seating at outdoor area of Cove Cafe adults only coffee and lounge on Disney Dream cruise ship

On board the new Disney Wish, the Cove Cafe lacks outdoor seating, however, it does have modern Polyensian decor inspired by the animated film Moana.

You Can Spoil Yourself At Palo or Remy

Few things are as enchanting as a romantic meal together. All of your meals are included in the price of your cruise. There are quick options like sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas available near the pools for lunch and dinner. A jaw-dropping buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And there are three themed restaurants. You'll be assigned a different restaurant for each night of the cruise, and your servers will rotate to each restaurant, staying with you for each dinner.

If you want to upgrade your experience you can make reservations at Palo . This gourmet Italian restaurant is adults-only and is a staple of each Disney cruise ship. A reimagined version of Palo is on the new Disney Wish cruise ship . We made reservations for our son at the Oceaneers Club and then secured reservations at Palo. You can do this beginning 30 days before your cruise, and they do fill up fast. I originally did not find an open reservation, but checked again two weeks out and was successful.

Palo adults-only restaurant on Disney Cruise Line features Venice inspired decor

It had been seven years since my last Disney cruise and when we arrived in Palo it felt just as remarkable as I remember. The warm and welcoming service put me at ease. And as I browsed the menu I delighted in the fact that one of my favorite items, the Portobello Mushroom and Cheesy Polenta remained. I am not a vegetarian, but this dish is delectable and surprisingly rich.

At the new Palo Steakhouse on the Disney Wish , the menu features a balance of classic dishes that Disney Cruise Line fans love and also puts a bigger focus on steak and other indulgent meats.

A5 Wagyu Beef and Veal Osso Boco at Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish

On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy you can dine at Palo, and have the option to also dine at Remy . This adults-only French restaurant is a pricer upgrade than Palo. If you want an extravagant, elegant meal then Remy is a must. Note, there is an additional cost to dining at Remy and/or Palo. Brunch at either of these adults-only restaurants is another worthy indulgence.

Pro-tip : Don't forget that Room Service is included in the price of your cruise. You can order breakfast in advance by placing your order on a provided Room Service order form that you hang on your stateroom door the night before. What's more romantic than breakfast in bed? We loved nibbling on croissants and fresh fruit while sipping our coffee each morning. Or if you need a midday break from the sun, order Room Service for lunch.

Not every couple is this way, but in our case, we are early risers thanks to our son. Even if you're not normally easy risers consider getting up a little early at least on one morning of your cruise. Seeing the sunrise while on the upper decks is breathtaking.

On the first full morning of our cruise I attended a 7:30am pilates class. Outside on one of the upper decks we stretched and worked our bodies as the sun finished rising and the Disney Dream pulled into port. It is one of my top memories of this recent cruise.

Another morning I headed up to the fitness center. And enjoyed a little cardio and strength workout. The cardio machines overlook the water – so energizing. The fitness center is part of the adults-only spa area making it a relaxing visit even if you're just there for a quick workout.

Find Paradise on Serenity Bay – Disney's Adult Only Beach

With five Disney Cruise ships and more on the way, there are destinations all around the world to sail. For me, it is hard to beat a Disney Cruise with a stop at Castaway Cay on the itinerary. Most Caribbean and Bahamian cruises with Disney include a stop at this private island paradise.

I love Castaway Cay, deeply. Imagine the theming and details of Disney on a private island. There are touches of Disney characters, but not all over the place.

Conched Out Bar near main beach on Castaway Cay amid blue skies and lush palm trees

There are multiple bars on the island and a few spots to grab lunch. The barbecue lunch served on Castaway Cay is one of my favorite meals of any Disney cruise. My first bite of the potato salad ignited memories of all my past cruises, it was like coming home.

Take the tram from the main beach over to Serenity Bay . This secluded beach is just for adults. This adults-only beach just on its own could serve as the top reason Disney is one of the best cruises for couples.

It is decidedly smaller and narrower than the main beach, but it is quiet and calm. There are sets of two lounge chairs and two upright chairs and plenty of umbrellas for shade. Lunch is served here too in case you don't want to travel back to the main part of the island.

If you're traveling with kids you'll want to get on the island as soon as you can. The kids' activities area on the island, known as Scuttle's Cove is open until 3:30pm, and is first-come, first-served. On our recent cruise, we enjoyed some time on the main beach with our son first thing in the morning, then headed to Scuttle's Cove so he could have fun while we escaped to Serenity Bay for a little bit.

Upon arriving at Serenity Bay I delighted in the enhancements made to Castaway Air Bar, the bar located at the entrance to Serenity Bay. The last time I set foot on this tranquil adult beach there wasn't much to this bar. Now there is lounge seating and a few pairs of Adirondack chairs. A 10:00am yoga class on the beach, already in progress, tempted me.

Instead, I mosied up to the bar and ordered the Konk Kooler , a signature drink blend of coconut cream and dark rum. I just had to raise a glass to being back at one of my favorite places on Earth, with my wonderful husband.

Entertainment and Lounges Just for Adults

The nightlife aboard Disney Cruise Line is surprisingly robust. There are multiple bars and lounges, as well as one main nightclub. During the day various events, including some for families and some just for adults, are hosted here. Then when the sun goes down things kick up a notch as each venue becomes adults only. I've been on multiple cruises for couples, across multiple cruise lines, and Disney's nighttime venues are some of the best.

Some lounges are for relaxing and conversation. The main nightclub is full of energy and offers entertainment catered to adults including comedy shows and live performances. Then as the late evening creeps in the main nightclub turns into an ultra dance club. There's also a pub on each Disney Cruise ship, great for sporting events and hanging out.

During our cruise, we did not get much time in the adult lounges since we had our son along with us. During our date night at Palo, while our son enjoyed the Oceaneer Lab and Club, we ventured to Pink Wine and Champagne Bar . This intimate, stylish lounge became the perfect way to kick off our quick date night. I sipped on a cocktail topped with bubbly while my husband savored one of the best Old Fashion drinks he's ever had — with a matching high price tag we quickly learned.

New Lounges on the Disney Wish

Disney's newest ship has a Star Wars themed bar, a hidden bourbon bar, and more. The lounges of the Disney Wish are all brand new, and offer an improvement in design compared to the previous ships.

Read all about the 5 BIG Changes on the Disney Wish Cruise Ship for Adults , including a look at Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge and more.

Disney Cruise Beverage Seminars – 21+ Only

Another way to enjoy some adults-only time and great drinks is with a beverage seminar. Every day on each Disney cruise you'll find a few beverage seminars ranging from beer, champagne, bourbon, and more. Reservations are required and do book up pretty quickly. The amount of beverages seminars, every day, are another reason Disney is one of the best cruises for couples.

Remember, you can book onboard activities, specialty dining, and port adventures 30 days in advance. Prices range from $30 – $50 per person. The seminars are held in the adult lounges, giving you another chance to experience these beautiful venues.

Adults only: the scoop on disney cruising for adults.

Disney-Cruising-for-Adults

If you ever considered taking a Disney Cruise Line Vacation, only to later reconsider because of the kid heavy nature of this vacation you aren’t alone. You have probably seen the promotional videos of families with small children and teenagers being welcomed onboard a Disney Cruise Ship. The ads show off families sliding down the AquaDuck Waterslide, playing together at Castaway Cay Disney’s private island, and noshing on delicious dinners in the ship’s beautiful dining rooms. It’s a common misconception that Disney Cruises are for families with children only and focus solely on kid-centric activities.

Lucky for you, this could not be more untrue. In fact, there are some activities on a Disney Cruise that are for adults only.

Exclusive Pool Decks

It stands to reason that you want to spend a lot of time relaxing poolside on your Disney Cruise Vacation. Enjoying the ocean breeze with a cocktail in hand is the epitome of relaxation. Luckily, there is an adults-only pool deck with ample seating, pools, and hot tubs on all Disney Cruises. The Quiet Cove Pool is a relaxing place to hang out if you want to escape the high energy and noise of the main pool.

This adults-only area is great for napping, swimming, or chatting it up with other cruisers on deck or in the hot tubs. Perhaps best of all, the adult deck is located toward the front of the ship and just a few steps away from the main deck. If your kids are playing outside on the main deck, you can easily pop outside at intervals to check in on them or snap photos of the fun.

As the Disney Cruise Line has evolved and grown so has the adults-only deck. The newer ships the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, have two adults-only pool decks. If you are a frequent cruiser on other cruise lines then you know that an adult-only deck is not unique to Disney Cruise Lines. Hanging out on the Serenity Deck on a Carnival Cruise or The Solarium on a Royal Caribbean Cruise were vacation highlights on previous cruise vacations.

What is unique to Disney Cruises, however, is both the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy have a teen deck for the youngsters to hang out on. This means, That the adult deck on Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream are much quieter than the adult decks on other cruise lines, where teens over 16 years old are welcome. Hooray for more deck chairs, and less loud chatter while I relax on the deck!

Fine Dining

If you were looking to enjoy your romantic and quiet child-free dinner, Disney Cruises have options for you. Disney Cruise Line offers excellent options in fine dining. If you’re sailing aboard the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, or Disney Fantasy ships, consider booking a reservation at the Northern Italian-inspired eatery, Palo . Visit this exquisite dining experience where delicious brunch is served or enjoy the rich cuisine for dinner. The delicious food is cooked and styled to perfection and paired with an abundance of delicious Italian wine.

Palo

Dining at Palo is an additional cost, but the experience of this restaurant is well worth it. In addition to phenomenal food and an elegant experience, you can enjoy the solitude of a childless dining experience. You will need to make reservations for this dining experience, but we wholeheartedly recommended you make time to visit Palo during your Disney Cruise!

Cocktail Lounges

There are plenty of places you can hang out on board that are child-free as well. As you might imagine, nightclubs and lounges along with beverage classes and tastings are kid-free. Why not try your hand at mixology on your cruise, or expand your palate with a wine tasting? Drink tastings and seminars are a great way to enjoy your vacation and learn in a kid-free area of the ship.

On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, we love the open-air bar on Deck 13, Currents. This is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and kick back in the breeze. Onboard the Disney Wonder, we recommend you visit the French Quarter Lounge. This New Orleans-inspired bar is not to be missed during your vacation. During the daytime, the French Quarter Lounge is a family-friendly spot with fun The Princess and the Frog -themed activities for kids and parents. In the evening, adults can enjoy classic cocktails and an adults-only experience. Let the good times roll!

Castaway-Cay

Castaway Cay Photo Op

Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay

Planning a day on Castaway Cay Island but worried it will be slammed full of kids? The good news, there is an adult-only area on the island as well. Serenity Bay, is a private adult-only section of Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. If you’re looking to enjoy water activities or just hang out with a tropical drink in hand and enjoy the beauty of the Bahamas, Serenity Bay is the place to be.

Rainforest Room Pass at Disney Cruise Spas

When you’re back on board and looking to hang out away from kid traffic, we have some recommendations.  Hitting the spa is an incredible way to really get your relaxation on and pamper yourself during your Disney Cruise Vacation. Senses Spa is known for incredible facials and massages that are blissful, but there are a plethora of spa experiences and treatments to choose from.

Did you know all of the Disney Cruise Ships have an option for you to purchase a Rainforest Room pass for the day? Yep, you’ll be able to relax in a child-free space for the entire day while you enjoy the steam room, showers, and sauna. Couple this with the spa treatment, or opt to purchase only the Rainforest Room pass. Either way, we bet this will make for an unforgettable and relaxing day. The spa and fitness center are adults-only areas, so you’ll be able to unwind or work out in peace while enjoying the solitude of the vast ocean around you.

Senses-Spa

As a general rule, you will probably be surprised at just how often children tend to group together and stay away from adults on a Disney Cruise. We can hardly blame them, with activities and programming for children, why would the kids want to hang out with the adults? Disney’s Oceaneers Club is a club for kids 3 to 12 years old where they can enjoy cruise programming, interact with characters, learn new things and explore a Disney Cruise from their own perspective.

Captain-Minnie

The tween crowd will enjoy visiting Club Edge and the activity center where they can play games, enjoy arts and crafts and hang out to watch those awesome Disney movies . Teens have their own space called Vibe. They will love chilling out and plugging in, in this exclusive teen space equipped to help kids connect, have fun, and enjoy their vacation just as much as mom and dad. With all these fun options at their fingertips, you won’t be tripping over children on deck. That’s the real scoop on Disney Cruising for Adults! Is a 7-Night Disney Cruise Right for You?

Advantages: who it’s best for.

A 7-night Disney Cruise offers an ideal balance of adventure and relaxation. It’s particularly well-suited for:

  • Multi-generational families seeking quality time together
  • Disney enthusiasts wanting to fully immerse in the magic
  • Couples looking for a romantic getaway with entertainment options
  • Solo travelers eager to explore multiple destinations
  • First-time Disney cruisers wanting a comprehensive cruise experience
  • Food enthusiasts who are excited to try various dining options
  • Those who enjoy a mix of port days and sea days

Disadvantages: Who It Might Not Suit

While 7-night cruises are popular, they may not be ideal for everyone:

  • Travelers with limited vacation time
  • Those on a tight budget (shorter cruises are generally less expensive)
  • People prone to seasickness or claustrophobia
  • Individuals who prefer a more fast-paced, port-intensive itinerary
  • Those who aren’t fans of structured entertainment or cruise ship environments

Is a 7-Night Disney Cruise Too Long?

For most guests, a week-long cruise hits the sweet spot. Here’s why:

  • Ample Time to Unwind : The first day or two allows you to decompress, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the cruise
  • Multiple Port Experiences : Visit 3-4 destinations without feeling rushed
  • Opportunity to Try Everything : From specialty dining to adult-only areas, you can experience it all
  • Better Value : Often more cost-effective per night than shorter cruises
  • Flexible Pace : Enjoy busy days and relaxed ones without missing out

For shorter options, you can consider a 3-night Disney Cruise or a 4-night Disney Cruise . If you want more information about shorter voyages, check out our guide to the Shortest Disney Cruises .

Could a 7-Night Disney Cruise Be Too Short?

For some travelers, even a week might not be enough. Consider a longer cruise if:

  • You’re combining multiple destinations (like Mediterranean and Greek Isles)
  • You want to fully explore each port without feeling rushed
  • You’re traveling from far away and want to maximize your time at sea
  • You enjoy sea days and want more time to relax between port visits
  • You’re celebrating a special occasion and want an extended escape

Remember, the ideal cruise length depends on your personal preferences, budget, and vacation goals. The Vacationeer can help you determine the best option for your needs.

Tips for Making the Most of Your 7-Night Disney Cruise

To maximize your week-long cruise experience, consider these tips:

  • Plan Ahead: Research the ship’s offerings and schedule your must-do activities in advance.
  • Pace Yourself: With seven nights, you can enjoy everything without rushing.
  • Try Different Dining Options: Experience Disney’s rotational dining and perhaps a specialty restaurant.
  • Enjoy Sea Days: Take advantage of onboard activities and amenities during days at sea.
  • Book Popular Activities Early: Reserve specialty dining and popular shore excursions in advance.
  • Participate in Ship Events: Attend shows, deck parties, and other special events throughout the week.

Choosing the Right Stateroom for Your 7-Night Cruise

Your stateroom choice can significantly impact your week-long experience. Disney offers various options to suit different preferences and budgets.

Some passengers prefer to save money on their cruise by booking an inside stateroom instead of an oceanview .

Others want to take advantage of the relaxed pace and enhanced privacy that comes with upgrading from an oceanview cabin to a balcony stateroom .

Or perhaps you want the biggest stateroom possible, given the length of the cruise. Consider a roomy Deluxe Family Stateroom or splurge on a concierge suite !

Disney Magic Cruise – Adults Only

' data-src=

We just disembarked from the Disney Magic Cruise Ship on a six night Western Caribbean itinerary. This was Patrick and I’s first Disney cruise, actually very first cruise ever! And yes, it was just us with no kids! We are HUGE Disney lovers and big kids at heart, so we thought why not? Here’s our experience on the Disney Magic Cruise Ship.

Disney Magic Cruise

Embarkation Day on the Disney Magic Cruise

We embarked out of the Galveston Port.

Disney has made the embarkation process super easy! I completed our check in process 30 days prior at midnight to get an early port arrival time. We were able to get a port arrival time of 11:30 am. We arrived at the port around 11:15 parked, unloaded luggage and were in line by 11:35. The line was somewhat fast. We maybe waited 10 minutes at one point to actually board the ship.

Spoiler Alert – Upon entering the ship, they call your family name and welcome you on the ship. Pluto and the crew were all clapping and welcoming us. Disney really knows how to make you feel welcome!

After boarding the Disney Magic ship, we were able to explore the ship, eat or swim until our room was ready at 1:30 pm. My original plan was to swim, but unfortunately we were in a winter storm and it was too cold for me to be in the water. A few brave kids didn’t mind the cold temps and swam!

We sat down for lunch in Rapunzel’s Royal Table and then dropped off our bags when our room was ready. After that, we did a quick tour of the ship with the crew. The tour did help us learn where everything is faster.

Around 4:00, we had to do the mandatory Muster drill. We were pretty cold since, we left our jackets in the room. Next time I’ll know that it takes longer than 10 minutes, lol.

The Sail A Wave Party was at 4:30pm to celebrate leaving the port. Of course all the Disney characters were there! We chilled in our room for a little bit and changed for dinner.

Boarding The Disney Magic

Embarkation Evening on Disney Magic Cruise

Disney Cruises offer a Broadway style musical or some kind of variety act each night. This night we saw a ventriloquist. I’ll be honest, this show did not interest us. We find ventriloquism kinda cheesy. However, we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the show.

Between the show and dinner, we stopped at Keys an adult only piano bar lounge for a drink. The music was great and it was a very quiet and relaxing place away from kids.

On our way to dinner, I did see many of the characters out signing autographs and taking pictures. They had on their sailor outfits!

Donald Duck

Our first dinner was in Animator’s Palette. Our assigned table included two other couples that were sans kids as well. Disney Cruise Line does rotational dining during their dinners. They have two set dinner times, 5:45pm and 8:15 pm. We were assigned the 8:15 dinner seating every night. Click here for a complete guide to dining on the Disney Magic.

After dinner, we went to Fathoms for an 80’s music trivia event. Fathoms is another adult only lounge after 9:00pm.

Day 1 was a success!

Day 2: Day At Sea on the Magic

We started our first day at sea with breakfast at Cabana’s the main cruise buffet. There was a HUGE variety of food options.

After breakfast, we walked off a few calories on Deck 4. Deck 4 has a walking track around the entire ship. During the walk, we ran into Chip & Dale! They were just strolling around and goofing off.

Lunch was at Rapunzel’s Royal Table again. We were lucky and got a seat by the window this time.

I’m a kid at heart, so we waited in line for a picture with Captain America. I ended up in a few lines for pictures with the characters this trip!

Most of the day, we just chilled. Compared to yesterday, the weather was perfect! I took full advantage and laid out by the pool for a couple hours. The adults only pool is much quieter than the other pools, so it’s easier to relax.

Adult Pool on Disney Magic

Tonight was semi formal night, so we choose to dress a little nicer. The characters were out in their tuxes and formal dresses! I tried to get as many pictures as possible, but the lines were long unfortunately.

Tangled The Musical was the show tonight. We LOVED it! They had a guest star, Gail Bennett that played Mother Gothel. She was fantastic!

We had dinner at Rapunzel’s Royal Table which went perfectly with the show. In fact, during dinner they have a mini show with Rapunzel and friends.

After dinner, we went and hung out at Fathoms again. Tonight was the Match Your Mate show. They picked three different couples from the audience and proceeded to see which pair knew each other the best. This was hilarious!!! I highly recommend participating in this!

Overall, we had a wonderful day at sea!

Semi Formal Night on Disney Magic Cruise

Day 3: Cozumel

Our first port was Cozumel Mexico. We have never been here, so we chose to do an excursion through Disney.

First of all, this is an easy port to get on and off. There were numerous shops and restaurants on the port. Plus, lots of taxis ready to take you anywhere you wanted to go.

Our excursion included a chocolate factory tour, tequila tasting and the Mayan Bee Sanctuary. We really enjoyed the tour. The only negative I have is that it did not include lunch. However, we had enough time to grab a few tacos after the tour was over. We also shopped a little before getting back on the Magic.

Cozumel

The Disney Dream cruise ship was in port the same time as us. It was very cool seeing them docked next to each other. Right before departing, they had a horn battle. Very cool! And I heard that doesn’t happen very often.

Disney Magic Cruise next to the Disney Dream Cruise Ship

This evening, we watched Twice Charmed another one of their Broadway shows. We enjoyed it, but did like Tangled more. It’s the story of an alternate ending to Cinderella.

Dinner was at Lumiere’s. Followed by more adult fun and drinks at Fathoms. Tonight in Fathoms, we did Magic Quest, an adult scavenger hunt. The most hilarious scavenger hunt I’ve ever seen! Men were wearing women’s shoes and bras, women were wearing guys shoes and shirts. But ssshhh, what happens on the Magic stays on the Magic. The ventriloquist from the first night did an adult show after Magic Quest. Very fun evening.

Day 4: Grand Cayman

Our second port day was at Grand Cayman. This is a tender port which means a boat takes your from the cruise ship to the port. It takes a little bit longer than just being able to walk off.

We booked an excursion through Disney to see Stingray City, snorkel at a reef and sail on a catamaran. I plan on writing a post on this, so stay tuned! Overall, we absolutely LOVED it! Fantastic experience. Probably one of our favorite things the whole cruise was swimming with the stingrays!

Stingray on Grand Cayman

One of the negatives of the excursion is that it took up the whole port time. We had no time to eat or walk around Grand Cayman.

Pirate Night on the Disney Magic Cruise

Tonight was Pirate Night!! After getting back on the boat, we hurried to get ready for pirate night. Our excursion was a little late coming back. We ended up missing a few character meet and greets. Which was unfortunate since the characters had their pirate costumes on!

Disney Magic Pirate Night

Instead of having a show tonight in the theater, there was the Pirates of the Caribbean party on the upper deck. There was dancing, a pirate takeover, Mickey zip lining in, and fireworks over the ship!

Goofy during Pirate Night

Almost EVERYONE goes all out for Pirate Night. There were very elaborate costumes. We did simple costumes from everyday clothes. They do leave everyone a pirate bandana and the stores sell a few pirate items for people who don’t have anything. And of course, it was not mandatory to dress up, but most people were.

Our dinner tonight was at Animator’s Palate. This was a different experience than our first night. We drew a character before ordering. Later during the meal, they did a video and animated everyone’s character! We all became official animators!

Pirate Night on the Disney Magic Cruise

After dinner, we went to bed early! As much as I wanted to participate in the later activities, I needed sleep! Very memorable day!

Day 5: Day at Sea

Our relaxing day at sea, started with breakfast at Lumiere’s. We had a great table by the window.

After breakfast, we did a meet and greet with the princesses. This is something that I signed up for weeks in advance. We met Belle, Tiana, Mulan and Rapunzel.

Rapunzel

The seas were pretty rough today. Patrick and I don’t get seasick, but there were quite a few people that did today. My plan was to lay out and enjoy the sun, but unfortunately that was not happening today.

The Disney Cruise Line Naviagator App has a schedule of everything on board for the day and the week. It’s very convenient to see what’s coming up. We used this to find our next activity: Anyone Can Cook Series. A chef taught us how to make Lobster Ravioli. They gave out samples and it was delicious!

In the afternoon, I took an 18+ Animation class. I learned how to draw Winnie the Pooh. We played Bingo a couple hours later. They have several times to play Bingo during the week. And there were some lucky winners! Unfortunately I wasn’t one of them.

This evening we watched a magician that truly awed us! The things he could do was incredible! In fact, I liked him more than David Copperfield in Las Vegas!

For dinner, we changed it up a bit and went to the adults only dinner, Palo. At an additional cost, I believe it’s completely worth it! By far, the best meal we had all week!

Day 6: Last Day at Sea on the Disney Magic Cruise

For breakfast and lunch, we ate at Cabana’s. This was our first lunch at Cabana’s, because I usually don’t like buffets. However, we found the lunch to have many good options and it was so much faster!

Marvel characters were doing meet and greets this morning. We waited in line for Thor, but decided not to wait for Captain Marvel and Spiderman.

I may or may not have had a nap today 🙂

This afternoon, we did hang out by the pool. I stayed in the hot tub most of the time, since the weather was a little chilly. We did see Goofy come out and greet everyone by the pool. He was in his swim trunks!

We did a Mixology class before the show tonight. The bartender was fantastic and taught us all how to make 5 drinks. He was very informative and funny. We were a bit wobbly after five drinks 🙂

This evening, Disney saved the best show for last! Disney Dreams: An Enchanted Classic was our favorite show! They tied in a few of the popular Disney movies like Lion King, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, Frozen, Peter Pan and Cinderella.

Our last dinner was at Lumiere’s. It was becoming bittersweet, since everything was ending.

After dinner, we headed to Fathoms again for some adult entertainment. Well Patrick headed there to save us a seat. I went up to our room and scrambled to pack real quick. I learned last minute that we needed to have our luggage ready to go by 10:00pm! Whoops!

I did make it to Fathoms to see the end of a fun 80’s movie music trivia type game. The room was split into two teams. They were competing against each other with a dance off. After that, the magician from the other night came out an did an adult only show. Again, he was fantastic! I can’t even begin to describe the crazy things he showed us.

Overall, a great day at sea and we’re sad it’s our last night.

Debarkation Morning on the Disney Magic Cruise

Our final morning, we woke up early to finish packing our carry on bags and get ready. We had breakfast at Lumiere’s with our table and waitstaff for the last time.

Disney made debarking super easy. After breakfast, we left the ship, collected our luggage and went through customs. Back to reality 🙁

Our Disney Magic Room

We stayed in room 6572. I loved the location. It was midship, so about half way between everything. We did not hear the rooms next door at all unless we were on the balcony.

We had a veranda which we loved! Patrick was on the balcony most of time.

There was plenty of room for the two of us. A separate sitting area for watching TV and the balcony with two chairs. I know this size of a room can hold up to four, which would make it a bit more cramped.

I loved that there were two sinks to speed the process of getting ready in the mornings and for dinner.

The room was very clean! Our room host was great at keeping it clean and he made towel animals for us each night. Truthfully I’ve been spoiled! I’ll miss the turn down service every night and the chocolates. He made sure we had everything we needed.

Disney Magic Room

Overall Thoughts On The Disney Magic Cruise

Patrick and I had a wonderful time during our first ever cruise. Disney provided plenty of activities during the day and evening that catered to adults and interested us. The shows were amazing! The deck parties were fun for everyone. I loved meeting the characters, however the lines did get long. I could have spent hours in line if I wanted to see every character.

The food was plentiful and for the most part good. I did have a couple meals that were underwhelming, but overall good. The waitstaff was amazing! They remembered our names and brought our favorite drinks every night without being asked.

The pool areas were a little on the small side, especially the hot tubs. There were a couple times it took me awhile to find an empty chair lounger for laying out. The adult pool was nice that it had a bar right there and the servers brought us drinks. There were two fun slides that didn’t seem to have long lines.

Overall, we enjoyed our time and will cruise with Disney again. My goal is to cruise on EVERY Disney ship now!

Adult-Only Disney Cruise Offering Announced, No Kids Allowed

in Disney , Disney Cruise Line

Mickey and Minnie on the Disney Cruise Line ships

If you are a fan of Disney but not so much a fan of screaming children, this new offering announced by Disney Cruise Line may be for you.

When guests visit Walt Disney World, it is typically a family destination vacation spot, so the theme parks are heavily catered to both kids and adults. Although it is a magical experience to see Cinderella Castle for the first time as you walk down Main Street, U.S.A at Magic Kingdom, or to drink around the world at EPCOT , you will also encounter tons of children. Some may appear as the most adorable sight you have ever seen, while others might break your eardrums.

The desire for adult-only Disney experiences by Disney adults has been growing in popularity as of late.

Disney adults have been under scrutiny for a long time, as many have taken an issue with adults visiting Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom without children. It seems that riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine train with your best friend or partner instead of your child is a topic that leaves some folks on the internet in quite a stir.

Two kids cry at Cinderella Castle

That being said, Disney adults are still pushing for more adults and less kids in the theme parks.

In the past, a Disney parody TikTok account created a fake idea for an adult-only after-hours event at Walt Disney World Resort, and fans went wild for the idea. It may not have been true, but the desire was made very clear.

When guests cruise on Disney Cruise Line, running into a ton of children is inevitable — but Disney does do a good job creating child-free zones. For example, each ship will have a pool and bar area that is adult-only, and there are also some lounges that are for 21+. The ships have tons of areas dedicated to teenagers, and Disney’s Oceaneer Club acts as a babysitting service to younger children, so that parents can go and enjoy those adult-only amenities.

Now, an all-new adult-only offering is being announced.

Disney Parks (@DisneyParks) has shared that their newest ship, th e Disney Treasure , will have an adult-exclusive entertainment section that is themed to The Lion King .

This news comes as Disney is now revealing a ton of information on the new ship following their decision to cancel the promo from last week and move it to today due to Hurricane Idalia.

More news will begin in a few minutes with the launch of Disney’s livestream on the ship.

Man allegedly drugged wife's dinner then invited more than 50 other men over to rape her

Some 51 men are accused of raping Gisèle Pélicot, a mother of three, after she was allegedly drugged by her husband at the family home in Mazan, a commune in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

Gisèle Pélicot

  • 16:23, 2 Sep 2024
  • Updated 16:37, 2 Sep 2024

A mum who was allegedly raped by multiple strangers after being drugged by her own husband today faced them all in a packed court room .

Gisèle Pélicot, a 72-year-old French woman, waived her legal right to anonymity on Monday at the opening of the trial of Dominique Pélicot, 71, and 51 other men.

All are accused of aggravated rape in a trial at the Vaucluse Criminal Court, in Avignon, which is due to last for four months. Twenty of them, including Pélicot, are in custody, while the others remain on bail.

Asked to confirm his name and address at the start of proceedings, Pélicot said: "My home is prison, you know it". Ms Pélicot, a mother-of-three, was supported by her adult children as she stood in the public gallery, listening to evidence.

The family home, in nearby Mazan, allegedly became a crime scene over almost a decade, when streams of men were invited to attack Ms Pélicot. Her husband is said to have used an online platform called coco.fr to contact them between 2011 and 2020.

Detectives have listed a total of 92 rapes committed by 72 men, 51 of whom have been identified. They are all being tried alongside Mr Pélicot , a former employee at French utility company, EDF.

In evidence from previous hearings, he said all the men who slept with his wife ‘knew she was drugged’ without her knowledge. Pélicot said ‘all had free will’ and ‘could have left the premises’ at any time.

Presiding Judge Roger Arata announced first thing on Monday morning that Ms Pélicot would be granted her wish for ‘full publicity’ until the end of the trial.

"Proceedings will be public," said the judge, who is president of a bench composed of five professional magistrates. Ms Pélicot’s lawyer, Antoine Camus, said: "She could have opted for a closed trial, but that’s what her attackers would have wanted."

Despite this, it would be a ‘horrible ordeal,’ said Mr Camus, adding: ‘For the first time, she will have to live through the rapes that she endured over ten years.

The Pélicots shared a large family house and – outwardly – were highly respectable pensioners with family members who visited regularly. Neighbours spoke about them as ‘lovely people’ who held parties around their swimming pool, in a well-kept garden, according to court evidence.

In fact, Pélicot was allegedly a serial rapist who moved his family from greater Paris in 1991, and later allegedly set up the sex ring. It involved advertising on a site for ‘partners’ on an online forum called ‘Without Her Knowing’.

Participants would discuss performing acts on unwitting partners, and then film their depravity, before storing the videos on a USB drive dubbed ‘Abuses’. In Pélicot’s case, the data eventually fell into the hand of police, who confirmed it enabled them to identify the 92 cases of rape. Of the 83 men involved, 51 aged between 26 and 73 were identified and arrested by the police.

Pélicot is said to have sedated his wife by putting tablets of a powerful anxiolytic drug into her evening dinner. He then invited strangers from the online forum into the couple's bedroom, so that his wife could be raped while unconscious. All were told to wash their hands, and not to wear aftershave, so she would not sense they were strangers.

Investigators only learned about the horror in 2020, when Pélicot was arrested in a supermarket in Carpentras for filming up the skirts of other customers.

When police searched his camera phone, and equipment kept at his home, they found all of the abuse images. Alleged rapists involved in the case include civil servants, ambulance workers, soldiers, prison guards, nurses, a journalist, a municipal councillor, and truck drivers.

A fireman accused of raping Ms Pélicot wore his uniform during the attack, one video shows. The fireman's computer contained 728 images of children being sexually abused, say prosecutors.

Some of his accomplices claimed they had no idea the sex was not consensual while one denied it was rape, saying: "It's his wife, he does what he likes with her." The trial continues, and is due to last until December 21.
