Winter Hours:  (Nov. 1 – March 31): 10 AM to 5 PM daily

Public tours depart at the top of each hour. On non-game days, the last tour of the day departs at 5 PM.

On game days, the last tour departs  three hours before  the game start time.

The burning question on anyone’s mind who hasn’t taken a Fenway Park tour yet is if you’ll actually get to walk around the field. Unfortunately, we do have a bit of bad news to deliver.

The tour section of the Red Sox website states that all areas of the ballpark are subject to availability . That means that chances are, you may not get to actually walk onto the field during a tour.

Occasionally it does happen but it’s usually a rare occurrence that depends on several factors including the condition of the field and the size of the tour group. You also have a greater chance of being allowed access to the field during the morning tours on home game days .

Don’t let this revelation bum you out or discourage you from taking a Fenway Park tour, however. There is still so much to see and enjoy during your visit that makes up for not being allowed to walk on the field.

Available Fenway Park Tours

Fenway Park tours are definitely not one size fits it—there are several available public tours to fit different preferences. Here’s a detailed description of each that was listed at the time this article was published, which brings up an important point: new tours may be added and existing ones changed or dropped at any time.

This is an hour-long tour that most people spring for. You get to enjoy a 60-minute guided tour chockful of historical nuggets about the ballpark, notable players, and Red Sox history.

This tour also includes a visit to the media booth which offers a spectacular view of the park. You’ll also get to see the visiting team’s locker room, Pesky’s Pole, the rooftop garden, the press box, and get to take in the amazing view from the Green Monster seats. If you go on the day of a scheduled concert, you may get to see the artist or band warming up on the stage.

Prices: $25 for Adults | $17 for Children (3-12) | $17 for Military

You’ll also visit the Royal Rooters Club—home of the Nation’s Archives, where historic baseball and Boston Red Sox memorabilia and photographs are on display.

Prices: $15 for Adults | $15 for Children (3-12)

A fan favorite, the hour-long pregame tour gives attendees early access to the ballpark before the general public and takes place three hours before game time. You’ll get to see Fenway’s oldest seats (the Grandstand section, which dates back to 1934), walk on the warming track, and sit atop the Green Monster.

Fans love this tour for the potential chance to watch players practicing or scoring an autograph or fly ball.

Prices: $40 for Adults | $40 for Children (3-12)

This is a great tour for families and younger baseball fans. It includes a visit with Wally the Green Monster, a stop on the warming track, and a historical narrative of Fenway Park history.

This particular tour lasts 40 minutes and is narrated by a Red Sox announcer. An in-person tour is certainly more fun, but this option is available for groups of ten or more people, making it suitable for corporate events, families, and more.

The best place to buy Fenway Park tour tickets is on the Red Sox website . You can book a tour up to 30 days in advance and choose the time slot that works best for you. You can also buy tickets through a third-party tour site such as GetYourGuide , GoCity , or Viator . Sometimes the tour is included as part of a package to see other Boston attractions. Definitely shop around and weigh your options for the best deal and tour that fits your needs.

The only discounts currently available for Fenway Park tours are discounts for active and retired military members for the public tour.

Insider Tips: What to Know Before You Tour Fenway Park

The last thing anyone wants is to miss the tour because they don’t know the best way to get into the city or discover the bag they brought with them is too big. These are important tips to know, so don’t skip over them!

This tip can never be stressed enough: leave your vehicle at home and take public transportation to Fenway Park . While there are several lots near the ballpark, the Boston area is notorious for its heavy traffic and delays—making it an absolute nightmare to drive to Fenway Park on game days. Not to mention,  parking near the stadium can be expensive .

Take the MBTA (“the T”) to the Kenmore stop on the B, C, or D Green line , and Fenway Park is a short five-minute walk away. When you exit the station, you’ll see signs guiding you to the ballpark. Take a left on Commonwealth Ave., another left onto Brookline Ave., then go over the bridge.

You’ll save yourself time, money, and stress by taking the T and will also get to meet some fellow Red Sox fans by taking public transportation. It’s hard to beat that!

If you must drive to the stadium, the Red Sox site has a page dedicated to the best lots to park at depending upon the direction you’re entering the city from along with their rates and an option to reserve a spot online.

According to one of the experienced tour guides, you walk the equivalent of 1.25 miles during the one-hour tours. That’s a lot of steps, so comfortable, supportive footwear is a must.

Be prepared for periods of standing and climbing stairs as well. Many tour attendees say it can be a workout. Elevators are available to get to various levels of the ballpark if you need a reprieve.

As an aside, don’t be surprised if your tour group is on the larger side (we told you these tours were popular!) The tour guides use a microphone to ensure everyone can hear them clearly. Sometimes larger groups are split up into two separate ones, each with their own tour guide.

Fenway Park does not provide water or other refreshments for tour groups, so be sure to bring water (in a sealed bottle 16 ounces or smaller) to stay hydrated if you’re taking the tour on a hot day. We also recommend sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen.

Fenway has a pretty strict bag policy: bags must be no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ and single compartment only. The ballpark does NOT allow backpacks (or backpack-style purses), duffle bags, and bags with multiple compartments.

Exceptions are made for diaper bags and bags that carry essential medical equipment. Any bags that don’t meet the requirements can be stored with a third-party locker company on the top of the Lansdowne Garage or a nearby liquor store. Note that a fee will be charged to do so. To be on the safe side and avoid missing the beginning of a tour, we recommend taking a fanny pack or other small bag that safely meets the size restrictions.

All tour participants are also required to pass through security screening before entering the ballpark. We recommend reading the Fenway Park security page for a list of prohibited items and more about the bag policy.

Much like Red Sox games, Fenway Park tours tend to sell out. They go on sale 30 days in advance (so if you visit the website on November 1 you will only be able to purchase tickets for tours taking place through December 1.)

A tour of Fenway Park is absolutely worth it! There’s a reason why Fenway is called America’s most beloved ballpark. Its features, layout, and quirks are unlike any other major league baseball stadium in the nation.

Taking a tour during the fall or winter months is a fun way to keep the fan spirit alive after the season has ended. Even if you’ve been a long-time Boston Red Sox fan, chances are you will learn something you never knew on a tour.

What's the Red Sox bag policy at Fenway Park?

BOSTON - Bag policies for sports stadiums are constantly changing, and other Boston venues like TD Garden recently established stricter guidelines. Here's everything you need to know about Fenway Park's bag policy  for Red Sox games.

What size bag is allowed?

All bags must be 12"x 12" x 6" and have one compartment. The Red Sox recommend that people use clear bags with one compartment that also follows the recommended size. The popular Lululemon belt bag falls under the required size and is allowed.

Backpacks, backpack purses, duffel bags, and other multi-compartment bags, even clear ones, are not allowed. Coolers and glass containers are also forbidden.

Exceptions are made for diaper bags and bags containing medical supplies.

If you happen to bring a bag that does not fit the requirements, Fenway Park offers lockers for a fee.

How do they search?

Fenway Park uses metal detectors to screen fans and security personnel look inside all bags. Most of the time, they ask you to move things around, or they take a quick peek inside the bag and move things themselves. 

Physical screenings are offered and are occasionally used in addition to the metal detectors. 

What's allowed?

All normal items are allowed such as wallets, keys, phones, etc. All items listed below are allowed to be brought into Fenway Park.

• One unopened 16-ounce plastic water bottle
• Umbrellas, but they can only be used during rain delays
• Small signs and banners that are not vulgar or political. They must not disrupt another fan's enjoyment or view of the game.
• Recreational photo and video cameras
• Diaper bags
• Medical equipment or supplies
• Breast milk pumps and other equipment
• Snacks and food*

*All food should fit into the bag size. Sometimes, you are able to bring in food from the concessions outside, such as the sausage carts, but it can be up to the discretion of certain security guards.

What's not allowed?

All items listed below are not allowed into Red Sox games and will be thrown out. Fenway Park does not allow fans to retrieve the item after the game has ended. 

• Bags that are larger than 12"x 12" x 6"
• Guns and ammunition. No exceptions for off-duty law enforcement and licensed carriers. 
• Knives, box cutters, pocket knives, or anything that can be considered a weapon
• Pepper spray/mace
• Marijuana. No exceptions for medical use.
• Cans, bottles, glass containers
• Hard-sided coolers
• Illegal substances
• Laser pointers or anything that could interrupt players on the field
• Noisemakers, including air horns
• Signs and banners that obstruct a fan's view, are political, obscene, or attached to the Green Monster or any part of the park.
• Costumes and costume masks
• Offensive clothing. This is determined at Red Sox management's discretion.
• Professional photo and video equipment 
• Tripods and mono-pods
• Drones flown in and around Fenway
• Fenway Park
• Major League Baseball

Let’s cover what fans can and cannot carry into this over-a-century-old (constructed in 1912) stadium:

Approved Bags – Clear Bags only!

Fenway Park Clear Bag Policy allows clear bags, must be single-compartment bags not larger than 12” x 12” x 6″ are allowed (with some exceptions).

• A single-compartment bag not larger than 12” x 12” x 6″
• Small purses/clutches

Exceptions will be made for Diaper Bags and bags needed for medical equipment.

Prohibited Items

It is always a good idea to leave things at home, but if some essentials are needed to be carried make sure they aren’t from the list below.

• Any bag larger than 12″x12″x6″
• For everyone’s safety weapons of any kind, firearms (including those owned by licensed holders or off-duty officers), tools of any kind – Knives, box cutters, Leatherman, or any item that could be used as a weapon, this restriction is applicable on ammunition. as well.
• Hard-sided coolers and glass containers are prohibited
• Pepper spray, mace
• Cans, Bottles (exception is made for one sealed 16oz Plastic Bottle of water)
• Alcohol and Illegal Substances
• Marijuana (including marijuana used for medical purposes).
• Artificial Noise-making devices
• Laser pointers or any other device can cause distraction and cause interference in the game/event.
• Costumes, Masks.
• Inappropriate Attire – Guests are expected not to wear anything offensive.
• Signs and banners that disrupt other fans’ views, cover up existing signage, promote something (commercial), contain obscene messages, are affixed to permanent structures in the facility, paraded around the stadium, or hung over fascia boards or the Green Monster are prohibited.
• Umbrellas are permitted inside Fenway Park but must only be used during official rain delays
• Personal cameras are allowed but must not interfere with fellow guests’ enjoyment, Recording or streaming the game from the field is prohibited and professional audio/video equipment including Monopods, Tripods are prohibited.

Guest Code of Conduct

Fenway Park expects guests to contribute towards creating a positive and enjoyable experience for all, the following guidelines have been issued as Guest Code of Conduct which guests must abide by.

• Be Respectful of everyone- guests, staff, team players.
• Maintain cleanliness in the facility.
• Refrain from getting into fights and abuse.
• Do not use offensive language, gestures, or hate speech.
• Discrimination towards anyone in any form will not be tolerated.
• Sit in your designated seat, and show your ticket upon request by the staff.
• Cell Phone use must be kept quiet and private, and must not cause disturbance to others.
• Smoking, vaping, and Tobacco use are prohibited
• Do not enter the Field at any time, interfering with the ball in play or entering the playing field will lead to ejection from the park, even arrest.

Guests who violate the above are subject to ejection and other penalties enforced by law, this includes a lifetime Ban, even arrest.

What if i arrive at the fenway park entrance gate with a prohibited item, bag, or bag larger than the specified size.

If you arrive at Fenway Park with a prohibited bag, you won’t be allowed inside and asked to return it to your vehicle or you also have the option of storing the bag for a fee with a third-party locker company located on top of the Lansdowne Garage across from Gate E.

April 9, 2024 not only marks the start of a new season but it also commemorates the 20th anniversary of when the Boston Red Sox won the 2004 World Series .

The late Red Sox Hall of Famer Tim Wakefield , who passed away October of last year, and his wife will be honored during today's pregame ceremonies.

The Red Sox will be facing off against Baltimore Orioles at 2:10 p.m. on April 9. Tickets can be bought here .

Parking at Fenway Park 101

Parking in Boston is always harrowing, and parking to attend a ball game at Fenway is even more taxing. The Red Sox even recommend that attendees take public transit to get to Fenway Park.

However, if parking is an absolute necessity, then the MLB website says that sports fans should book a parking spot ahead of time using SpotHero, a website where people can reserve parking spaces on an hourly or daily basis, providing their own link for Fenway Park parking.

"In order to reduce traffic both before and after games, we recommend that you park in a lot or garage that corresponds to the route you take to Fenway," the website said.

Parking your car or truck in the Fenway-Kenmore residential parking district during an event at Fenway Park could result in a $100 fine for each violation.

What is the bag policy at Fenway Park?

Fenway Park only allows single-compartment bags that are no bigger than 12"x12"x6".

Backpacks and backpack-style purses as well as duffel bags and other multi-compartment bags are not allowed inside Fenway Park, according to the MLB Red Sox website .

Fenway Park will make exceptions for diaper bags and bags that have essential medical equipment.

"To speed up the entry process, the Red Sox will continue to encourage the use of single-compartment clear bags for the 2023 season," the website also said. Clear bags must also be no larger than 12"x12"x6". Clear backpacks are not allowed."

Fenway Park attendee bags are subject to search, and fans who get to an entry gate for a game with a bag that is not allowed can store their bag for a fee with a third-party locker company, whose locker truck is located atop the Lansdowne Garage across from Gate E.

Food prices at Fenway Park, what you need to know

In 2023, a Fenway Park hot dog went for $6.25, according to data obtained by USA Today.

According to the same 2023 data, a Fenway Park beer costs $0.66 per fluid ounce. So, a 12-ounce beer would be almost eight dollars, a 16-ounce beer would be 10 and a half dollars and a 24-ounce beer would be a little under $16. For perspective, last year that made a beer at Fenway Park about eighth most expensive in the league, tied with the Texas Rangers Globe Life Field.

There are other food and drink options available according to the concessions guide on the MLB website, like chicken tenders, fries, burgers and nachos. Vegan, vegetarian and Kosher options are sparse but available.

Fortunately, you can drop off your baggage at Bounce’s Fenway Park luggage storage depot. From there you will be free to roam unhindered. You will need to book online in advance, but this only takes a matter of minutes.

The facility offers up to $10,000 of protection cover, so you will have complete peace of mind as you enjoy the city or the ballpark. 

Fenway Park food policy

You are not able to bring your own food into the ballpark. You are free to bring in water, provided it is in bottles of less than 16 ounces, and not in a glass container or a can. Don’t let this restriction alarm you. When it comes to food, you are spoiled for choice in the park itself. 

Concessions in the stadium will offer you everything from peanuts through to lobster rolls , and all options can be washed down with a choice of beers or soft drinks. Lobster is synonymous with Boston but if shellfish is not to your taste, then how about a portion of “slammin’ onion”?

Fenway Park camera policy

You are welcome to bring a camera providing it is not a professional recording rig. Although you are encouraged to take videos and photos as a memento of your visit, you are not permitted to record events for replay purposes. Your equipment should not interfere with other spectators’ enjoyment of the game.

If you are carrying a large bag for your photographic kit, it will not be allowed into the stadium if it falls outside of the 16 x16 x8 inch restrictions. You can avoid this becoming an issue by simply storing your kit bag in one of the nearby locker facilities near Fenway Park.

Getting there

For ease of access, you can’t beat the subway. Follow the green line and take the C, D, or B train to Kenmore , or take the D train to Fenway. You are now just minutes away. There is car parking in the vicinity starting from $10, but expect major traffic jams for big games. Another option is the MBTA and getting off at either Brookline Avenue or Yawkey Way, both of which are right in front of the park.

Fenway Park rules

• Fenway Park puts the safety of its patrons at the top of its priority list. With this in mind, you will not be allowed to bring any weapons into the park. This includes knives, box cutters, and guns.
• It should be noted that the restriction on firearms applies equally to licensed gun holders and off-duty policemen.
• Visitors need to be aware of flying balls that get slammed into the stands on occasions.
• Please keep cell phone calls private and respect the environment by removing your litter.

Fenway Park is the oldest active Major League Baseball stadium. It was first built in 1912, then rebuilt in 1934. In 2012, a century after the stadium first was built, the park was added to the National Register of Historic Landmarks.

The stadium has hosted concerts by musicians such as Ray Charles, B.B. King and Paul McCartney. In 2018, Fenway Sports Group created the MGM Music Hall at Fenway, a concert venue with 5,000 seating capacity.

Parking and Admission at Fenway Park

The Red Sox team recommends using public transportation to get to the stadium. Fenway Park is at the center of several transit stops. One of these stops is right across the street from Gate A at the corner of Jersey Street and Brooklyn Avenue.

For patrons who need event parking, there are several options. On weekends and evenings, fans can park at one of Fenway Park’s two partner garages. These garages are the Prudential Center Garage or the 100 Clarendon Street Garage. Prudential Center Garage is located just under a mile from the stadium. 100 Clarendon Street Garage is approximately 1.3 miles from the stadium. Fans can receive a discount by scanning a same-day Red Sox ticket when leaving either garage. Patrons can also find alternative parking spots through apps such as SpotHero. Typically, parking at Fenway Park costs $10 to $50, depending on the event and location. To reduce traffic, the stadium also asks patrons to park in a location that is on the side of the stadium they are traveling from.

For patrons with disabilities, there are a limited number of accessible parking spots near the stadium. Patrons may also reserve paid accessible spaces at independent lots near the stadium.

Fenway Park | Ballpark Info

Accommodations for disabilities.

There are a few parking spots outside of Fenway that are designated as accessible parking spaces. Most of them are located on Jersey Street between Van Ness St. and Boylston St. These spots are metered during the day, but become handicap priority spaces during Red Sox games. All gates are hadicap accessible. Elevators can be found at gates D, B, and E.

Make sure any bag you bring in is 16” x 16” x 8”, or smaller.

Batting Practice

Batting practice at Fenway Park can vary depending on the visiting team. Your best bet is to arrive at the ballpark as soon as the gates open, 90 minutes before first pitch.

Bring Your Own Food

Per Fenway Park policy, fans are not allowed to bring outside food into the stadium, but you can bring in one, clear, unopened 16 oz. bottle of water.

Fan Services

If you have any issues or questions while at the ballpark, please utilize Fan Services. Each MLB team has this department, and they are solely focused on making sure each fan has a safe and memorable time at the ballpark.

Game Day Tickets

A limited number of tickets for that day’s game are sold at Gate E on Lansdowne St beginning 90 minutes prior to all games. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Fans may assemble in line beginning five hours prior to game time. Fans must remain in line to participate in the game day purchase opportunity process. Fans are not allowed to hold spaces in line for other fans. Fans will be required to enter the ballpark immediately upon purchase at Gate E. Consequently, a one ticket limit is set per person for game day sales.

All Fenway Park gates open 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of every game.

Please be aware that there is absolutely no re-entry allowed at Fenway Park. Upon exiting the park for any reason, fans are unable to return.

Restrooms can be found at the following locations:

On Main and Lower Concourses: Left Field Grandstand, Gate C, Gate D Concourse, Gate E, Infield Concourse, Main Concourse, Right Field Boxes, Ford Clubhouse.

Family restrooms can be located at Gate E. There is also a changing table on the Pavilion Level.

Ballpark tours are available year-round, daily, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (or 3 hours before game time), starting at the top of each hour. Tours last one hour and are also available in Spanish and Japanese, with advance notice. Tours depart from the Team Store on Jersey Street (across from Gate A). Tickets can be purchased online, at the Gate D ticket booth or the main ticket office. Children under 3 yrs. are free. www.redsox.com/tours

Get to the ballpark early so you can take a look at the following attractions.

Visit Pesky’s Pole

Pesky’s Pole is the foul pole along the first base line. Only 302 feet from home plate, it marks the shortest outfield distance in the entire MLB. Since the field wraps a bit in that location, it’s not often you see a home run hit near the pole. It was named for Johnny Pesky who hit very few home runs, but had a tendency to wrap those he did hit around the pole.

Autograph Alley

Prior to each home game, a former Boston Red Sox player, coach, or personality will sign autographs free of charge. You can find Autograph Alley in the Jersey Street Team Store.

The Lone Red Seat

In section 42, Row 37, you’ll notice that seat 21 is the only seat in the entire section that is red. This seat marks the longest home run hit in the history of Fenway. The homer was measured at 502 feet and was hit by beloved Red Sox, Ted Willams in 1946.

Jersey Street

previously Yawkey Way up until 2018, is an extension of the Fenway Park concourse during Red Sox home games and other special events. This public street is blocked off to traffic three hours before game time, and reopens to ticketed Red Sox game patrons once the ballpark officially opens. You’ll find concessions, live music, family entertainment, the official Red Sox Team Store, Autograph Alley, and more. Jersey Street runs from Brookline Avenue at Gate A to Van Ness Street at Gate D.

The Green Monster

The Green Monster is one of those things you have to see in person before you can really appreciate how gigantic it is. The left field wall measure 27 feet, 2 inches wide. You can find terrance-style seating on top of the Green Monster, along with some of the most unique views in all of baseball.

Fenway Park | Transportation and Parking

As with most inner-city ballparks, parking is few and far between at Fenway. You can expect to pay ridiculous fees to park nearby. You’re much better off taking public transport or a ride share service into the Kenmore Square area.

Fenway Park Lots

The Red Sox strongly encourage fans to take public transportation to games. Since the ballpark is the oldest in the league, and located in the inner-city, you won’t find traditional lots like you do at most other parks.

Your best bet if you are driving in is to find a garage that is nearby the park. Some of your best options are:

• 120 Brookline Ave
• 105 Van Ness Lot
• Sheraton Boston

The Red Sox have recently started pitching a service called ParkWhiz to help fans find parking on game day. Check it out.

Public Transportation

The Red Sox encourage public transportation to decrease traffic in the area. Hands down, taking the Bus or Rail into the Kenmore area is going to be the easiest for fans, especially those who aren’t familiar with driving in the area.

The MBTA Bus Routes 1, 8, 19, 47, 55, 57, 60, 65, CT1, CT2, and CT3 have bus stops within walking distance of Fenway Park.

The T You can take the Red, Orange, Blue, or Silver lines into Fenway, then transfer to the B, C, or D train to Kenmore. If you’re not familiar with navigating public transportation, use the MBTA’s planning tool to plot your route .

Uber & Lyft

If you’d rather not drive, or take public transportation, Uber and Lyft are great options for getting to and from Fenway Park. Uber is the official rideshare company endorsed by the Red Sox, so you’ll see their logo everywhere. Don’t worry, Lyft is still allowed to pickup and drop off at the ballpark. In fact, you may be better off calling a Lyft since everyone else will be staring at Uber signage all night.

Drivers know to pick up up in the official rideshare zones on Boylston St. and Beacon St . Don’t be afraid to call your car as you’re walking out of the park. you’ll be waiting on it for awhile. You may want to consider heading over to a nearby bar to wait out the post-game rush.

If you can scrape together a few pennies, highly sought-after seats atop the Green Monster, also known as “Monster Seats”, can go for a couple hundred dollars a piece. To purchase them you have to enter an online lottery on the Red Sox website, or go through a ticket broker.

Where NOT to sit Fenway is the oldest park in all of baseball. This means that it has more obstructed views than most of the more modern parks, largely due to the poles that support the upper deck. You’ll find the majority of these poles in the Grandstand area. So how much can the view really be obstructed? Well, the Red Sox used to sell these seats at a discounted rate to make up for the obstruction. That’s gone out the window now, so you’re on your own to make sure you find a great view. The best rule of thumb is to avoid seats at the ends of rows in the grandstand sections. If the row is extra long, there may be a support pole in the middle too. Best Seats for Shade

If you’re looking for shade, you’ll want to find seats on the third base side, especially in the Grandstand. You’ll be covered and have the sun behind you, making it a very pleasant experience.

Best Seats for Foul Balls

Looking to catch a foul ball at Fenway Park? According to foulballz.com , the best sections to do so are 53, 64, 142-150 on the third base side and 20-37 and 112-124 on the first base side.

Admittedly, Fenway Park isn’t notorious for their amazing selection of unique ballpark fare, but there are some classics that will do if you’re just wanting something so snack on while you watch the game.

The Must Have: Roasted Peanuts and a Boston Brew

You can’t go wrong with a good ‘ole bag of roasted peanuts and a cold Harpoon beer, locally brewed in Boston. If you’re looking for something a little more substantial, sausage with peppers and onions is a safe bet and can be found right outside the park on Jersey Street.

Something Special: New England Clam Chowder

So you’re in Boston at a chilly night game in April, what’s more iconic than a hot cup of “chowda” from a local favorite, Legal Sea Foods. Here’s where you can grab yourself some: Home Plate Concourse, Big Concourse, Right Field Roof Deck and Jersey Street.

Bleacher Bar | 82A Lansdowne St, Boston, MA 02215 | Website | Menu | Click to Call Bleacher Bar is a cool little spot beneath Fenway Park’s bleachers that has a view of centerfield. It has a really cool nostalgic Irish pub feel that you have to see to believe. For being basically inside the ballpark, their beers are reasonable and they have a pretty extensive menu if you’re hungry. Pro tip: for all you guys out there, you got to stop in the men’s restroom while you’re here…that’s all we’re going to say, just trust us.

Sweet Cheeks Q | 1381 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02215 | Website | Menu | Click to Call Texas style BBQ and southern sides in Boston? Yep. This place is a good idea if you’re not planning on eating at the ballpark. Try their famous biscuits and Fried Chicken, or stick with the classic brisket. Either way, you can’t go wrong. Open at 11:30am, you can get to the Kenmore area well ahead of game time and have a few drinks. They close at 11, so if the game runs late, this may not be the spot to go afterwards.

Yardhouse | 126 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215 | Website | Menu | Click to Call Yes, Yardhouse is a chain restaurant. If you’re looking for an authentic Boston experience, skip this place. However, if you want a menu that has something for everyone, and a place that is kid friendly, Yardhouse is a great option. They have several Vegan and Vegetarian options, as well as a wall full of beers and mixed drinks to choose from. It also appears to be one of the only spots in the area that is open late, making it a great place for after the game.

Local Attractions

If you’re traveling with a family or just trying to make the most out of your trip to Boston, here are some recommended nearby attractions.

The Freedom Trail | Website It’s no secret that Boston is one of the most historic towns in America. The Freedom trail is a 2.5 mile long path through downtown. You’ll pass by 16 historically significant locations. Along the way, you’ll find historical markers detailing the locations. The trail itself is free, but a few stops along the way do charge admission, including the Old State House and Paul Revere House. If you’re a historical buff, this is an absolute must do.

Harvard University | Website Harvard University, the oldest institution of higher education in the U.S., is about a 10 minute drive from Fenway Park. Walk the campus on a free student-guided tour or download an audio tour from their website and take your own self-paced stroll through history. You can also visit one of the many museums available to the public . Harvard Square, at the heart of the Cambridge campus, offers tons of shops and restaurants and great little parks and courtyards for you to take a break and people watch.

New England Aquarium | Website The Aquarium is a great family experience, and is home to thousands of aquatic animals. Be sure to check out the fur seals and the Pacific octopus! Prices are $32 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $23 for children. Children under the age of 3 are free.

As great as it is to be in the stands, a trip to Fenway does require some planning. The park is in the middle of the city, traffic is always an issue in Boston , and parking can be difficult and expensive.

Getting to Fenway Park

I’m not going to lie here, guys. Getting to Fenway can be a bear. Boston traffic isn’t fun on a good day, and game days are much worse. My advice is to give yourself plenty of time to sit in traffic or take the T from a nearby town.

Fenway Park Address

As you get in the cah to drive to the pahk, enter Fenway Park’s address, 4 Jersey St, Boston, MA., into your GPS and go!

Fenway Park Gates

There are six entrance gates to Fenway Park.

• Gate A : Corner of Jersey Street and Brookline Avenue
• Gate B : Corner of Van Ness Street and Ipswich Street
• Gate C : Lansdowne Street
• Gate D : Corner of Jersey Street and Van Ness Street
• Gate E : Lansdowne Street near Brookline Avenue
• Gate K: This is the entrance to the Kids Concourse , located next to Gate B on the corner of Van Ness Street and Ipswich Street

The closer you can get to your gate, the better. But really, park wherever it’s convenient. Parking is at a premium, and Fenway is small, so you can find your seat without a problem, regardless of which gate you enter through.

Parking at Fenway

If you can, consider taking the T into the city. Parking is expensive, and most lots require cash, so bring plenty.

How Much Is Parking Near Fenway?

Parking is expensive near Fenway. Depending on when you arrive or how close you want (or need) to park, you will likely pay between $40 and $60 to park in a lot or garage.

Gas stations, hotels, and other businesses also sell parking spots for the game, and their prices depend on how close to the park the lot is. My best advice is to arrive as early as possible, be prepared, and carry enough cash.

The cheaper lots fill up fast and require that you get to the park super early. The cheaper lots are usually not very close to the park, so wear comfortable walking shoes.

Where to Park Near Fenway

The lots and garages below are located right next to or within a block of Fenway Park. These aren’t the only lots in the area, but they are some good choices we’ve used.

Remember that parking this close to the park will cost approximately $60, and some lots may only take cash. There are less expensive lots located further away, and also keep an eye out for business and gas station parking lots offering Red Sox parking.

• Priority Parking – 819 Beacon St, at the corner of David Ortiz Dr. and Maitland St. This lot is two and a half blocks from the Jersey Street entrance of Fenway Park. The Lansdowne T station is also located here on David Ortiz Dr.
• Van Ness Garage – 1325 Boylston St. The Van Ness parking garage is located on the block of Van Ness St, Richard B. Ross Way, and Boylston St. It is conveniently located a quick block away from Fenway.
• 55 Jersey Street – This small lot is located on the corner of Jersey St., and Van Ness St. Since this is a small lot, it could fill up fast, so plan to arrive when the Fenway gates open 90 minutes before the game.
• 51 Van Ness St. Parking – A small lot located across the street from the Jersey St. lot and next to the Jersey Street (Gate D) entrance to Fenway Park.
• Lansdowne Garage – 47 Lansdowne St. Located directly behind the Green Monster side of Fenway and just down the street from The House of Blues.
• 49 Lansdowne St. – This lot of located next to the Lansdowne Garage and near the famed Cask n’ Flagon.

The Best Places to Park Near Fenway Park

To avoid driving around in circles, you can also compare prices and buy a parking pass beforehand . Buy your pass early because spots will sell out before game day.

There are also options for grabbing something to eat before the Red Sox game near these parking options. Nearby restaurants include Wahlburgers, the Yard House, and Cask n’ Flagon, to name a few.

Tips for Going to a Red Sox Game at Fenway Park

How early can you get into fenway park before a game.

The gates open 90 minutes before the game. Plan to get there early because there is a lot to see and do. Grab a bite to eat, buy some souvenirs, and listen to a brass band play.

There is also plenty of entertainment for the kids. Play catch, get their picture taken with Big League Brian, the stilt walker, get their face painted, visit the balloon artist, and watch the juggler. If you are there on the weekend, look for the caricature artist for a one-of-a-kind souvenir.

If you’re a Red Sox Nation member, show your valid ticket to the day’s game to watch batting practice from the Green Monster 20 minutes before the gates open.

Where is the Best Place to Sit at Fenway Park?

The best place to sit is subjective. If you use this interactive Fenway Park seating chart , you can click on a section, which will pull up the approximate view of the field that you will have from that section.

We all have our personal preferences, but when purchasing tickets to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, we prefer not to sit in the Grandstand area under the pavilion. These seats are under the overhang and can be hot and behind the poles.

Because of this, you can end up paying good money for an obstructed view of the game.

Obstructed View Seats at Fenway

When a ticket is marked as obstructed view , don’t assume that you might have to look around an awkward corner of the park. No. Tickets marked as obstructed view likely mean you will have a large pole blocking your view of the game.

Even if a ticket isn’t labeled as obstructed view, you could still have a pole somewhere in the area that will block something within your sight.

A word of caution is to avoid buying a ticket in the Grandstand section, period.  We’ll happily take a bleacher seat over a Grandstand seat any day of the week.

Fenway Park Bag Policy

The Fenway Park bag policy was updated in 2023.

Fenway is allowing larger bags again, but they must be a single compartment and no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ . Backpacks (including clear backpacks) or backpack-style purses, duffel bags, and other multi-compartment bags aren’t allowed inside the park.

The bag policy at Fenway doesn’t apply to essential medical bags and equipment or diaper bags. If you are bringing a baby to the game, diaper bags are allowed as long they can fit under your seat.

Hard-sided coolers are not allowed in the park, regardless of their size.

All bags are subject to search at the entrance gates, so be sure you do not have any items in your bag that aren’t allowed in Fenway Park.

What is Not Allowed in Fenway Park?

• Weapons, including knives, guns, etc.
• Utility tools (even if they’re on a keychain)
• Hard-sided coolers
• Glass containers, bottles, cans, or metal water bottles
• Pepper spray or mace
• Laser pointers or any other item that could interfere with the game
• Alcohol and drugs, including marijuana
• Cigarettes, vape pens, etc. (Fenway is a non-smoking venue)
• Costumes and masks
• Noisemakers
• Offensive clothing items. If you wouldn’t wear it to visit grandma, don’t wear it to the game.
• Professional camera and video equipment, including tripods and monopods.

What Can You Bring Inside Fenway Park?

• One sealed plastic water bottle, 16 oz or smaller
• Strollers that you can fold and store under your seat
• Umbrellas, but they can only be used during rain delays
• Signs that do not obstruct the view of others and are free of offensive language and themes.

The Boston Red Sox have fantastic merch . Their team store on Jersey Street is huge and offers anything you might want, whether it’s a hat , stuffed Wally, keychain, drink cozy, player jersey, or anything in between.

There are also smaller team stores located inside the park, which comes in handy if you need a blanket or sweatshirt during the game. Been there!

What is the Best Thing to Eat at Fenway Park?

Ballpark food has stepped up its game over the years. There are so many food choices at Fenway, and everything we’ve ever had has been good.

When we visit Fenway, we usually go simple and get burgers and fries. We also enjoy Sal’s and Regina pizza. Other food options at Fenway include fried dough, chicken tenders, chowder, Italian sausage, snacks, sweets, and more.

Of course, a game at Fenway Park isn’t complete without trying the iconic Fenway Frank.

No. You can bring a regular bag to the park if it fits the size guidelines. All bags will be checked at the gate by security personnel.

Can You Buy Red Sox Tickets at the Gate?

Red Sox tickets for a game at Fenway Park tend to sell out pretty quickly. Because of this, I find that the easiest way to purchase tickets to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park is online.

You can print tickets at home or send them to the MLB Ballpark app, which is my method of choice. This way you don’t have to worry about forgetting or losing your tickets because, let’s be honest, you probably won’t forget to bring your phone. Just scan each ticket into the scanner at the gate and enjoy the game!

Do You Need to be Vaccinated to Go to a Red Sox Game?

Fenway Park is once again opened up to full capacity for all games. Fenway Park follows the Boston city rules regarding the requirement of the COVID-19 vaccine in all indoor spaces, which includes attending a baseball game at Fenway.

Guests no longer need to wear a mask while attending a game at Fenway Park, but it is encouraged for unvaccinated or immunocompromised guests to continue to wear a mask.

As of March 5, 2022, guests are no longer required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend a game . Because things can change, check the Red Sox website health and safety section for current health and vaccine policies.

Do you need a test or proof of vaccine to enter game day?

I don’t believe so. Tickets are sold in pods so people can be distanced, masks and a health screening are also required. https://www.mlb.com/redsox/ballpark/safety

Do you sell ponchos or some kind of rain gear at the gate for the concerts?

I am not affiliated with Fenway or the Red Sox so you will have to check their website to see. I know they sell ponchos for games, but I don’t know if the same is true for concerts.

Are you allowed to bring seat cushions into the stadium?

Seat cushions aren’t on either the allowed or prohibited lists so I can’t answer definitively if they would be allowed. In most cases items that fit under your seat (or on, in this case) like diaper bags and umbrella strollers are allowed, but they’ve limited the size of bags allowed in the park this season so I’m not sure if they will be picky about a cushion.

So, to make a long story short, if I were you I would bring it with the thinking that you might have to bring it back to your car or pay a vendor to hold it for you. (My husband forgot to take his multi-tool off his keychain once and a vendor just outside the gate was happy to hold it for a few bucks).

What time do the parking lots open at Fenway?

It really depends on the lot. There isn’t a designated parking lot for Fenway, but there are a lot of private lots in hotel and service station parking lots nearby that have their own hours but will be open a few hours before the game. Most garages in the area are 24 hours or open really early in the morning as they are full-time garages.

Hi. I have two questions. 1.How early I have to arrive in a bobblehead night to catch one? 2. If I can’t bring a bag in to the stadium, then I can’t buy anything at the Jersey st store?

We will be at tomorrow’s game as well and from our email about the bobbleheads it says you can pick them up when gates open at 5:40 inside the Team Store on Jersey St. until the end of the 4th inning. We went to the Star Wars Night game a couple of years ago and they had plenty of the bobbles available when we got ours.

As far as merchandise, I would assume that they make exceptions for bags from the team store, BUT if you don’t feel comfortable chancing it, the team store is open for 30 minutes after the last out.

Are Sunday afternoon games generally well attended compared with other games at Fenway? Wondering if we should wait to buy tickets, or purchase online now.

I wouldn’t wait too long. Even if there are tickets available closer to game day, you’ll have much better options the sooner you buy them.

Fenway is always crowded and weekends, especially day games, are especially popular.

Which 11th near by city is best if coming from the Cape and what is parking like there?How much would parking cost? Ie in NEWTON?
