Lovely Lucca is an enchanting, terracotta coloured metropolis enclosed by ancient walls with sixteenth century ramparts whilst Siena with its fan-shaped square and red brick tower is regarded as the finest medieval town in Italy. I realizedhol to Dublin over the weekend before my…

I realized over the weekend before my holiday started on Monday 25/3/24 that I did not have my Glenton holiday documents. There is no emergency phone number or way of checking departure/ pick times for the coach. CRAZY! I went on line & all I could get was ref no. & Congratulation of payment. I remembered the pick up time was 07.30 at Dunfermline. I was wrong it was 05.15. you phoned at that time to say they would wait till 05.30 no help to me as I takes me 45 min to drive to Dunfermline. In the end I had to meet the bus at Glasgow bus station, it takes me 1 hr 10 min & have to park at the expensive car park near the Buchanan St. On my return it cost me £160.to get out of the car park. I WANT YOU TO PAY ME BACK £160 as you never posted or emailed my documents. Otherwise the holiday was ok, a very good tour hostess, Michelle but Alan the driver only played his personal music on the coach, Rock & Roll. Not my taste! I'm thinking of cancelling my next holiday with you to the Italian lakes with 2 overnight coach stops each way. The music alone would drive me nuts! I await your reply!?

First class coach driver and hotel

First class coach driver and hotel. The food served and waiting staff poor, it was blatantly obvious that profit was the utmost importance, shame as this marred the holiday. I actually made a verbal complaint to staff re attitude and food served, as on occasion it was flung not placed in from of you, the chef changed the vegetable after serving same for 3 nights after I complained. You need to address these matters with management

Coach was very clean and comfortable

Coach was very clean and comfortable, driver was excellent friendly,helpful and a good laugh. Coming home could of done with a coffee and toilet break . Pick up Dundee or Perth or even Halbeath instead of Dunfermline would be such an advantage for this area

The Inn on the Prom at St

The Inn on the Prom at St. Annes was superb the weather was wonderful and we had an amazing driver for whom nothing was too much bother. Our coach party of 19/20 thoroughly enjoyed their weeks stay. Claire at the Glasgow office gave us excellent customer service. Thank you to everyone.

Select holiday includes home pick up…

Select holiday includes home pick up which is great as you know you will reach the coach pick up point in good time. Like the days out although some are repetitive even though you are going to a different location. Chester is one example. Coach drivers are friendly and helpful.

Donegal Trip

Hotel first class but the taxi’s not…

Hotel first class but the taxi’s not reliable let me down In morning pickup was 35 mins late then on return journey taxi never even turned up Waited 20 mins and took a taxihome at my expense Sent an e mail to glentons never replied after 10 days

Castle Howard Christmas Neverland

Waited 2 months for a reply about our trip & basically they said sorry we felt like this. They sold us a trip not giving us full details of hotel. Very expensive. We definitely would not go with Glenton again. Also said I was the only person ever to complain about this yet the whole bus was going on about it???? 🌟🌟Absolute load of rubbish saying it was just before Xmas. It was 20th nov. Also there was NO details about the hotel apart from a picture & large grounds for walking in. Utter lies. I’ll never go with them again or recommend them to anyone. They’re not interested in you. 🌟🌟🌟The biggest disappointment I’ve had overall with this company is I feel once they’ve took my money (over £600) they’re not interested in my complaint at all😟

On my recent trip To Switzerland…Dissatisfied

On my recent trip To Switzerland Austria And Germany the Food was terrible The Flies controlled the Dining Room and the Buffet Breakfast Management Breached European Food Hygiene Laws by their Omissions to control the deadly Flies which I video this every day.Glenton are also guilty failing in there duty of care a complete Breakdown of The Upmost Trust and Confidence in this organisation.John Mitchell.6th of July 2022 the holiday was a few weeks ago stay clear

First time using Glenton holidays and we were delighted with it. From booking right through to the return home, it went smoothly. It was a Select holiday so we had private pick up from home to pick up point. The coach was very spacious and comfortable. The driver (Graham) was professional and courteous throughout. He kept us well informed throughout. The trip to Wales went well as did the trips included. Accommodation was fantastic. I’d certainly use Glenton holidays again in the future.

I just like to mention what a wonderful member of staff you have in your tour guide Dominic! I work as a receptionist at one of the hotels you stay at, and Dominic is such a pleasure to deal with! Very efficient and informative! Professional and caring! Wish all Guides were like him! Hope to see you at Haydock again Dominic!

Firstly I will apologise for what may be a lengthy review. This was our first time using Glenton Travel, we had no problem with either the driver (Ali) or the coach I would consider using the company again. However our problem is with whoever made up the driver's timetable. We were picked up in Fife at 4.15 am, had to leave home at 3 am. The next pick up for passengers was in Edinburgh where we had to wait a while for passengers to arrive. Then onto Glasgow, where again we had to wait for passengers so we were given 15 mins comfort break. I have mobility problems and have to use either a walking stick or 3 wheeled walker. As I only used my walking stick it took me more than 5 mins to get from the coach to the main building which was locked and didn't open till 6 am. Another wait, by the time we were ready to go back to the coach my husband had to go ahead to let the driver know I was on my way, (very bad set up in Buchanan Street bus station), From Glasgow it was onto Girvan for more more passengers, we were offered another toilet break but they were closed, told they opened at 8 am, then found it was 9 am. We then headed for the ferry port of Cairnryan, More passengers boarded, after we had a while to wait for them, then into the parking area for boarding. It was only about 10 am and our ferry wasn't till 11.30, another long wait. Then the ferry was delayed for 1/2 hour due to weather, which can't be helped. On disembarking the ferry in Belfast we travelled south and did a comfort stop in Enniskillen, again no toilets open and by this time the toilet on the coach was out of order. We didn't arrive at the hotel till almost 6 pm. Our dinner that night was at 6.30 pm. While I have to say that the staff were very pleasant and helpful the service at meal times was very slow. The food, when it eventually arrived was good and plenty of it. However, there was no proper lounge to sit in after our meal to enjoy a drink or two, we had to sit in the bar at tables more suited in a cafe. The daily excursions weren't very well planned either, the trip to Westport was ok, shops open and plenty of places to have a snack at lunch time. However the trip to Sligo the next day (Sunday & Hogmanay) was no good. No shops open, and as far as we saw only one wee cafe open for a lunch time snack. We were left there for 4 hours, again the weather was against us, with the rain not taking time to come down, I know we cant help the weather. But I wonder why a coach party were taken to place that was all closed up on a Sunday. Again I add that we have no problems with the coach or driver, but the person who made up his time table on the outward journey needs to re think the timings, also replan the daily excursions.

Totally delighted with our immaculate coach. Firstly I have to say our driver Graeme was the safest and smoothest driver in the country for sure. And, a really nice guy. Secondly we thought the Leonardo Hotel, Cardiff was really nice and well beyond the standard of a coach tour hotel. Location central & perfect. Hygiene virtually 100% perfect. Food was nice and the bar and serving were faultless.

We travelled with Glenton on a coach tour to Cornwall in July. We had a horrendous experience with a long coach trip, with 3 coach changes and 3 driver changes (around 16 hours) with insufficient comfort breaks. No dinner at the hotel as we were too late. We stopped before reaching Cornwall for a dinner break, but the choice of food outlets were very limited. The hotel in Newquay was awful and so was the food. My husband was unwell after 3 days eating the food at the hotel and had to seek medical assistance at the local chemist. We considered getting alternative travel to get us home there and then as things were so bad that my husband stayed in the room most of the time, but it wasn’t as easy as we thought and would have added a great deal to the price of the holiday, which was definitely not cheap. When we left the hotel at the end of our stay, we were not offered breakfast as they said it was too early, so instead we were given a bag with a sandwich, juice and a piece of fruit (no vegetarian option on the sandwich and they looked disgusting). Glenton say they are hand picked hotels, but to us it was a dump and the cheapest hotel around. We had travelled with them in 2022 to the Lake District and had a lovely holiday, but the recent holiday to Cornwall was a complete disaster from start to finish. I wrote to them with a complaint about the trip and received a letter back, which only offered us 10% off our next holiday. This would definitely not encourage us to holiday with them again.

 Glenton "Select" Coach Holidays Glasgow Dublin & Galway Lakes 919115822 First of all, there was a complete debacle on Monday, the 28th, August. We were picked up from home by taxi at 05:30 for transport to Buchanan Street. We departed Buchanan Street on time to catch the 11:30 Stena Line ferry from Cairnryan to Belfast. Stopping at Ayr for one pick up, we were informed that the coach would stop at Girvan for another pick-up and a comfort break. On arrival in Girvan for a comfort break the driver distributed a Glentons bag containing a packet of crisps, shortbread and caramels but with no drinks and, as a diabetic, apart from the crisps, none of these items were of use to me for nourishment. As far as toilets in Girvan were concerned, there was a leisure centre there, but a large sign said "No Public Toilets," so we had to use the ones on the dockside that were disgusting Again, no water or any other refreshments were available after 3 hours on the road, no morning coffee & pastry on the outward journey So after 30 minutes there, we again set off for Cairnryan On arrival at Cairnryan at approximately 10:30, we took up station in the line to await boarding. As you will know, the coach arrived in ample time for the 11:30 sailing and was sitting in the loading lane at the terminal. However, when called to board, the coach refused to start due to a faulty sensor on the Emergency Wheelchair Exit. After numerous attempts by the driver to remedy this it eventually fell to a mechanic from Stranraer to fix the problem.By this time the 11:30 had sailed and we had now been on the coach for almost 5 hours without drinks. The Ferry Terminal was at least 500 metres away from the coach, and as I am mobility impaired, it took a very long time to get to the toilet and back. There were also vending machines for drinks available with one working but no zero sugar options. We were then informed that although the door had been fixed and was functioning properly they (Glentons or the driver) would not be using this "Select Coach" but were awaiting the arrival of another coach from Lochgelly approximately 3 hours away. At approximately 3pm the replacement coach arrived and to our dismay it was not even a standard coach but one that had most of the room taken up by tables and with what I would call the seating layout as "Ryanair" Super economy minimum distance pitched seats. I was sitting 5 rows back on the near(kerb) side aisle seat. That is why we chose "Glenton Select" for the extra legroom. The seat pitch on the replacement coach meant there was absolutely no consideration for people with conditions similar to mine Being 6'3" with long legs and having a disability that involves keeping my legs straight to avoid cramp and/or Deep Vein Thrombosis I could not sit properly in the seat on the replacement coach and had to sit with my legs in the aisle. I noticed other passengers sitting similarly. This meant that my body was at 45° to the seat, and my legs were spread at 90° for considerable periods of time, a very uncomfortable position. Subsequently, due to my seating position, I was looking directly at the back of the seats diagonally opposite and had no views except through the driver's window. Another serious matter was that due to my seating position I could not comply with the Road Traffic Regulations concerning mandatory seat belt wearing whilst the coach is in motion and was risking a fine and/or penalty points and no doubt increases in my insurance premiums merely because Glenton's could not supply a replacement coach that was suitable for mobility challenged passengers. I do not believe that Glenton's has considered taking any reasonable actions to accommodate disabled passengers when they replaced the extra leg room coach with a coach that had greatly reduced seat pitch. The pitch between the edge of the seat on the replacement coach and the back of the seat in front was approximately 8 inches / 24 cm. I have attached a photo of a 500ml "Sprite" bottle that would not even fit between the edge of the seat and the back of the seat in front. So, at 3:30 pm, after being on the road since 5:30 am without any liquid refreshments and after sitting in a hot stuffy static coach for nearly 4 hours we embarked on the ferry. Again, and I accept, this was not the fault of Glenton, we were unable to get any refreshments due to the extensive queues at the cafe on the ship and the fact that my legs had almost seized up due to the extensive periods that they were immobile on the coach. I walk with 2 sticks and about 200 metres is my limit due to a heart condition therefore standing in a queue for 30-40 minutes was not an option and neither was it for my wife who was also very fatigued by this time. Off the ship and straight to the hotel were we arrived at 8:30pm and were told that before we went to our rooms we were to be herded into the dining room for our dinner. I use the wod "herding" deliberately as we had just spent 15 hours travelling, we were hot, fatigued with the same clothes that we left home at 05:30 and to put it bluntly, we felt dirty and in no mood to sit down to dinner. It was like being treated as herd animals with absolutely no flexibility whatsoever and done just for the convenience of the hotel staff. N.B. The comfort and well-being of the guests should be the prime priority of any hotel. However, resistance was futile and we had no choice but to eat and drink, and, for my wife and I, it was the only real food and water that we had had for the entire duration of the trip. At the dinner table, we were given our itinerary for the next day, 0800 breakfast, pile into the coach once again, and then off to a tourist attraction. I was still sore from the extensive journey, and there was no way I could get down for an 0800 breakfast and then to be expected to walk around a park. We informed reception to convey to the driver that we would not be going on the trip. I have bruises on my knees where they were vibrating against the back of the seat in front, and this made it very painful to walk any distance. On Wednesday, we took the trip to Dublin and were dropped off in the city'. Due to pains in my legs, we sat around for 4 hours until it was time to go back. The next day Thursday (Galway) we decided that as we had a long trip home ahead of us on the following day (Friday) and as I was still sore from the Dublin trip, we couldn't face another day in the coach. Even now, after 24 hours of being home, my legs are still very painful.
