A little bit extra ...

We have used glenton holidays a few times, two day trips and once for a cruise. The coaches are very comfortable and door to door service is fantastic. You even get a goody bag which includes things, such as a puzzle book, pen, water, crisps, sweets, etc. It is a little more expensive than other coach companies but it's worth it!

Titanic Experience

As first time coach holiday travellers we were delighted with our experience. Our driver was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was comfortable and food good. The tours were interesting and we feel we saw more than we would have done travelling by ourselves.

First class coach driver and hotel

First class coach driver and hotel. The food served and waiting staff poor, it was blatantly obvious that profit was the utmost importance, shame as this marred the holiday. I actually made a verbal complaint to staff re attitude and food served, as on occasion it was flung not placed in from of you, the chef changed the vegetable after serving same for 3 nights after I complained. You need to address these matters with management

Date of experience : 15 March 2024

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that the hotel food was not up to the hotel's usual standard. Your comments have been fed back to our Management Team and the Hotel Manager. I realizedhol to Dublin over the weekend before my…

I realized over the weekend before my holiday started on Monday 25/3/24 that I did not have my Glenton holiday documents. There is no emergency phone number or way of checking departure/ pick times for the coach. CRAZY! I went on line & all I could get was ref no. & Congratulation of payment. I remembered the pick up time was 07.30 at Dunfermline. I was wrong it was 05.15. you phoned at that time to say they would wait till 05.30 no help to me as I takes me 45 min to drive to Dunfermline. In the end I had to meet the bus at Glasgow bus station, it takes me 1 hr 10 min & have to park at the expensive car park near the Buchanan St. On my return it cost me £160.to get out of the car park. I WANT YOU TO PAY ME BACK £160 as you never posted or emailed my documents. Otherwise the holiday was ok, a very good tour hostess, Michelle but Alan the driver only played his personal music on the coach, Rock & Roll. Not my taste! I'm thinking of cancelling my next holiday with you to the Italian lakes with 2 overnight coach stops each way. The music alone would drive me nuts! I await your reply!?

Date of experience : 25 March 2024

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you had joining your tour as you did not have your travel documents, which were posted to you on the 12th of March, and were therefore unsure of the departure time for the coach. Your comments have been forwarded to our management team who will review your complaint and provide a response to you directly. Many thanks for taking the time to give us your valued feedback. Coach was very clean and comfortable

Coach was very clean and comfortable, driver was excellent friendly, helpful and a good laugh. Coming home could of done with a coffee and toilet break . Pick up Dundee or Perth or even Halbeath instead of Dunfermline would be such an advantage for this area

10-Day Ultimate Ireland Small Group Tour Tour

10-Day Ultimate Ireland Small Group Tour

We just finished an outstanding 10-day Ultimate Ireland Small Group Tour with our exceptional guide, Finn! We selected this tour as it had, for us, the right combination of the highlights of Ireland and varied activities, it included both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and it was a small group tour. This tour absolutely exceeded our already high expectations! The itinerary proved to be excellent, but a lot of the credit for the success of the tour has to go to Finn. Like any good teacher, he is truly passionate about his country and sharing all it has to offer! He shared his knowledge and love of Irish history, literature, culture, sports and music throughout the tour which added so much depth and color to our adventure. Finn is competent, personable, patient, funny, and flexible — to name a few of his many virtues. He proved to be an excellent driver as we traversed many winding, narrow and challenging roads! He kept us on schedule, made modifications when needed, and provided us with a smooth running tour and a once in a lifetime experience for our group! We highly recommend Finn and the 10-day Ultimate Ireland Small Group Tour! We made new friends and enjoyed a lot of fun and laughter along the way!!

Hiking - The Causeway Coastal Route & Donegal

6-Day Wild West and North Small Group Tour of Ireland

I did a tour earlier this year with Overland Ireland and was really impressed and came back to Ireland to see the rest of the country with them. We had 14 other guests on board and we had the best bunch of people ever. The accommodation was great and the combination of great walks, sightseeing, culture worlds perfect for me. Our guide Ryan was an excellent story teller, organised great restaurants for us in the evening and made everyone feel welcome. I would highly recommend this tour.

Best of Ireland and Scotland (15 Days) Tour

Best of Ireland and Scotland (15 Days)

What can I say about a last minute trip of a lifetime! We had the best guide, James Smith, and best driver, Paul. They were organised and professional, calm and skilful at dealing with a bunch of strange personalities; witty and insightful, sharing their life experiences with us; advising and guiding us with the history and the memories of home. Even missing my pickup point, I did not panic or worry. I’m sure James was shocked at receiving a call from Australia. Lucky for me, he picked up! Good to have a backup plan. Ireland and Scotland were everything I wished for. I loved all of it- the driving, excursions, free time, sightseeing, foods, local people, ancient and modern history, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Donegal, Londonderry, Ring of Kerry, Giants Causeway, wall of Remembrance, Good Friday Peace agreement. I learnt about habits, customs, whiskey and shortbread, music, culture, accents and people, Celtic and Viking influences, symbolism and the importance of change and structure affecting our lives. Love the quirkiness too - The idea of Guinness offering a pint of beer for your blood donation is hilarious, doing your exams in Gaelga gives you a 20% advantage; museums and most event places have no entry fees. NB - (1) ensure all travellers have contact details, only for emergency use (updated as to country and location). (2) We would have loved to have a photo with our guide and driver. They were an important part of our experience! A Most enjoyable and memorable Trafalgar trip. I loved the little aside-jaunts and I loved the way James and Paul worked at keeping the journey interesting, well paced, stress less and fun. Highly commended!

Amazing Ireland (14 Days) Tour

Amazing Ireland (14 Days)

Our problems started when there was no one at the airport to meet us in Dublin. All other travel groups had guides with prominent signs greeting them as they excited their flights at an unfamiliar airport. Our group had no one for over an hour, and we had to seek out someone to assist us. We looked long and hard and found two young girls carrying notebooks (NO SIGNS!) with Trafalgar written in small font. Our guide Bridget and bus driver Patrick have been outstanding; however, there’s only so much they can do about lousy accommodations, repetitive breakfasts, and unsavory areas our hotels were in. The 48 people on our tour our absolutely wonderful, but Trafalgar has decided to load this tour to capacity making it rather crowded and uncomfortable. Many of the sights we have seen have been spectacular (Giant’s Causeway, Ring of Moher, Blarney Castle, and all of Belfast), but areas such as Galway and Cork (a crumbling, dive of a city) could definitely be left OFF the itinerary. All in all, I’d say this tour was just okay. We’ve accrued many additional expenses with “optional” tours and most meals on our own without any meal suggestions. Ireland is an amazing place, but I don’t think this has been an Amazing Tour.

13 Day Full Irish Experience - Small Group Tour Tour

13 Day Full Irish Experience - Small Group Tour

Sean did a great job of sharing his country w/ us. From specific Irish music shared on the bus and numerous anecdotes, he really made Ireland come alive for us. He was also very flexible and willing to accommodate us a much as possible. (Yes- we’d like to stop @ that distillery!) We appreciated his positive upbeat attitude as well. Great job, Sean, and thanks again!

What people love about donegal tours.

Mike was an excellent guide, informative, very knowledgeable and flexible with the itinerary when necessary
I had a wonderful experience hiking the Northern Atlantic Costal Mountains. The guide Brendan was amazing and kept on a tight schedule so that we could experience all of our destinations on our itinerary. We did get some stormy weather which was expected and we were. prepared rain or shine to keep moving. I would definitely do this hiking trip again in a warmer season. Cheers! Loret
All the places we saw were excellent and it just felt a shame to not see them for longer

Great accommodation The hotel and the food was great

Great accommodation, stunning scenery, great outings. The only negative was Letterkenny, a very run down town, most of the shops were boarded up. There was only one gift shop and the museum was closed.

Date of experience : December 29, 2023

Thank for taking the time to give us your feedback. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the majority of your holiday. We have passed your comments about Letterkenny to our product team for review. We hope to see you on board again soon! Thanks again. The Glenton Customer Service Team.

Castle Howard Christmas Neverland

Waited 2 months for a reply about our trip & basically they said sorry we felt like this. They sold us a trip not giving us full details of hotel. Very expensive. We definitely would not go with Glenton again. Also said I was the only person ever to complain about this yet the whole bus was going on about it???? 🌟🌟Absolute load of rubbish saying it was just before Xmas. It was 20th nov. Also there was NO details about the hotel apart from a picture & large grounds for walking in. Utter lies. I’ll never go with them again or recommend them to anyone. They’re not interested in you. 🌟🌟🌟The biggest disappointment I’ve had overall with this company is I feel once they’ve took my money (over £600) they’re not interested in my complaint at all😟

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review of your two night break. Firstly, we regret the uncharacteristic lateness of the response to your email. Unfortunately, this correspondence arrived shortly before the festive period when we only had a skeleton staff in the office, then was further delayed due to staff holidays. The hotel details were available in our brochure and on our website, we are sorry that you feel that the details were not given to you and will pass these comments back to our sales team. Please be assured that we continually strive to improve our service. We appreciate you taking the time to give us this valuable feedback on your experience of travelling with our company. Many thanks for your feedback. Glenton Customer Service Team

Glasgow to Dundee Antiques Trip

Travelled from Glasgow for a visit to an antiques centre just outside Dundee with Glentons. We travelled to Hamilton, Bathgate, Edinburgh then to the antiques centre, took 4 hours, no commentry. Arriving at the centre we were asked to take a seat in the restraunt for a lunch, the most awful soup arrived (vegetable) dark green with lots of strings on celery through is, sandwichs were tasteless. We were only allowed 1.30 minutes in the antiques centre then another journey on the bus to Dundee driver was allocating 4 hrs in Dundee. Several people asked to leave earlier including myself and friends. Another 4 hours on the bus arriving home at 9pm. Not the drivers fault, this trip needs more organisation. Our understanding was an Antiques trip we should have had longer in the venue, as a result we only saw a very small portion of the centre. Very disappointed.

Edinburgh Tattoo holiday

Edinburgh Tattoo holiday Overall, a good excursion but was spoilt by the lack of information regarding the long steep walk up to the castle from the coach. People with mobility issues were struggling to make the journey and some may not have got there. No doubt it was not the company's fault but there was no info on the problem which the driver should have been aware of and we should have been told by Glentons Holidays.

I’d just like to give credit to your Tour Guide Dominic! He is such a lovely person and a pleasure to deal with! I work on reception at one of the hotels you stay at and he is so professional, efficient and caring! He actually inspires me to maybe look into becoming a Tour Guide! Look forward to seeing you again at Haydock Dominic!

Drivers point of view

I am a now semi retired so former Glenton driver. I have to say that from a drivers point of view this is the company to work for. If I ever had any issues they were dealt with promptly and professionally and they always listened to the drivers input. Top quality company with friendly and professional staff to help and guide you. Wish I was 30 years younger and still doing their tours

Date of experience : February 24, 2024

Thank you for your review - great to hear! We hope that you are enjoying your semi retirement. Thanks for all your hard work in the past. Many Thanks Glenton Customer Service Team.

Check reviews before you travel

Just back from a tour with Glenton tours to Liverpool. Was supposed to get a luxury coach. None available. £20 refunded to everyone travelling. Fair enough. Hotel was rubbish. Definitely not a four star. Very disappointed as Glentons had been recommended by friends. The Driver was nice and friendly but unwilling g to help elderlies on and off bus. Maybe it was not his job! Anyway I think Glentons should downgrade this hotel So you expect too much.

Travelled to Llandudno 10/10/22.

Travelled to Llandudno 10/10/22. Picked up at home 6.30am for 7.15am departure coach arrived at 7.45am no interaction from the driver except “l should have stayed in bed.”We drove around Falkirk numerous times looking for the pick up point. At Hamilton we were informed that after the pick up in Glasgow we would stop for refreshments still no welcome or introduction as to his name had to ask numerous times.Coach didn’t appear that it had been cleaned properly-cans rattling around, asked numerous time for the heating to be operated to no avail. The hotel was lovely clean and comfortable food was good and the staff friendly and efficient. Can’t comment on the trips as l didn’t partake. On the homeward journey we only had 1 hr stop after 4hrs of travelling.First trip with Glenton expected better.

Horrendous Twelve Hour Coach Trip

Horrendous trip from bathgate to Carrick on Shannon pick up 6.45 am no toilet stop till girvan no refreshments till the ferry terminal almost 5 hours, in ireland 45 min stop at small garden centre only one mixed toilet 6x6 garden shed one bowl one sink 45 passengers ? my wife took ill with this lack off passenger care and comfort. glenton did not respond to our plea for help in Ireland and we had to seek medical assistance the holiday was spent in a hotel room on our return Glentons response was ( Quote We do not consider that her ill health was in any way due to the service we provided ) they provided no service and a complete lack of care BEWARE traveling with Glenton

Excellent trip

Picked up from home at the time agreed and taken to bus station. The driver got us to the ferrry with plenty of time to spare and stopped for a coffee. Arrived in Buncrana in under two hours and were through reception in minutes. Hotel and food very good over the whole period although they appeared a little short staffed at times in the restaurant. Trips were very good and Graham the driver was always looking after the bus party. Had a good sense of humour too. First New Year trip with Glenton but wouldntt mind doing the same next year, try maybe Donegal this time. No complaints.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your holiday and will feed back your comments to the team. We look forward to welcoming you on board again soon. Many thanks again. Glenton Customer Service Team

Great New Year Experience

The journey, driver, company, hotel and excursions were all excellent. From being picked-up from chosen point to drop-off the break was a marvellous journey. Hotel was excellent as were tours. Everything was professionally done throughout and would have no hesitation in recommending,

That's lovely to hear. Thank you so much for your feedback. Hopefully we will see you on board again very soon. Many thanks for taking the time to provide a review. The Glenton Customer Services Team.

Hebrides tour not what we paid for as " highlight" omitted.

Select bus and driver were good although driver did not provide any commentary. However 5 days before we set off for our Hebridian tour that should have resulted in a drive through Skye on last day we were notified by Glentons that our ferries had been cancelled and alternative route to Hebrides was organised. We were not told by the driver until the last evening that we would not be going home via Skye and that we would travel back to mainland from Stornoway to Ullapool. The Skye section was supposed to be a highlight of our tour and this did not happen. The driver did not even tell us our route from Ullapool to first drop off in Glasgow or where our lunch spot would be. I wrote to Glentons just after our return describing our experience and 2 weeks later, I am still waiting for a reply and compensation plus apology for this major disruption to our holiday. I am so disappointed at Glentons customer service and will consider taking further action.

It was my first trip with Glentons and I really enjoyed it. The arrangements were all well organised and the coach was very comfortable and our driver Graeme was so kind and helpful and a very good driver. The hotel was lovely with good food and entertainment. My room was excellent and very clean and all the staff were chewy and helpful. I enjoyed the spa which was very clean with two saunas and other facilities. I am looking forward to more trips with Glentons. I just hope you can do more pick ups in Dundee, but I will find out if I can get an early morning bus to Perth for a pick up. Thank you

Booked tour to “Picture Book…

Booked tour to “Picture Book Yorkshire”, September 2022 Solo travel, should have included, host, dinner bed and breakfast, entertainment Apologies as host, had domestic problems, and hotel serving problems with meal not being served simultaneously, and on occasion no service. Placed at table with another 3 friends at table, therefore left out of conversation, meaning would be as well on normal holiday, No heating in extremely fridge temperature room, inadequate bedding, having to use outdoor coat on bed, and no entertainment or even TV in hotel Having filled in tour form, complained, no answer to cold room, TV etc., phoned and advised to write again and only get “out of office” message Since they omitted at booking of GF diet, however anything ordered which was suitable and ordered on pre order form, never arrived at table This hotel in Bradford, should be checked again for suitability for elderly clients, plus customer service, leaves a bit to be desired

The mystery tour to Weston Supermare was amazing. The people on the coach were really lovely. The drivers Ali and Don were great and the hotel was beautiful. Reception staff so attentive. I can't wait to go with Glenton again!!
