Mammoth Cave
Aptly named Mammoth Cave brings you back in time offering a glimpse of the world in prehistoric times. Explore the caves up close and at your leisure with a self guided audio commentary which is excellent. Perfect for children. Educational. Stimulating. Wondrous and awe inspiring. 15 minutes south of Margaret River Town.

It can be found 21 km south of the town of Margaret River surrounded by Marri and Karri forests. The immensity of the caverns is silencing at 500m long and 30m deep.
Mammoth Cave is, well, pretty BIG. Thus the name. It is more than just a visit to a cave. Touring Mammoth cave involves a walk into one end of the cave, and out the other.
This self guided tour, with an MP3 player and a headset, gives you get the chance to meander through the caves along the boardwalks taking as much time as you want.
You can pick up your mp3 guide at the visitors centre. Discover the history of the cave from European settlers times until the present day with informational guides along the walk combined with the audio tourgide.

Tours depart daily from 9am until 5pm (last entry 4pm). Self Guided. DRESS: All caves will be colder than above ground. It is good to have an extra layer to provide warmth and bring water.
A stroll through the impressive Marri forest completes the tour. Look out for children as there is one road to cross before returning to the car park.
Open every day except for Christmas Day for a fee.

Lying beneath the surface of Leeuwin-Naturalist Ridge, a series of decorated limestone caves can be found. Join this guided tour of the Mammoth Caves in Margaret River and wander through the caves while listening to an informative audio tour that leads you around the majestic chambers.
The Mammoth Caves are the most accessible of all caves in Margaret River with boardwalks and platforms that are wheelchair accessible for all guests. Marvel at this natural time capsule and ancient fossil including the remains of Australian Megafauna that have been extinct for approximately 46,000 years. The Mammoth Caves are open daily between 9am to 5pm with the last entry to the caves at 4pm.

- Enclosed footwear suitable for climbing stairs is recommended

- Arrival at the ticket counter 10 minutes prior to tour time is required. During busy holiday periods your place on the tour may be reallocated if you have not checked in 5 minutes prior to tour departure
- Child age is 4-16 yrs. Children under 4 years old are not permitted on the tour
- A full refund will be provided for cancellations received by close of business (5pm WST) on the day prior to the tour booking
- In the event of ‘no shows’, or cancellations later than close of business (5pm WST) on the day prior to the booking, the operator may charge the full cost of the booked tour
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience

Great cave. Can't wait to do the rest of them!!!!!
Rather easy cave to do. It's great that their is no guide and you can go along as you please. Pretty much the whole time it was just the two of us in there and was very peaceful experience. Will definitely be back again in the future and do all the other caves.

Great tour with lots to see
Great self-guided tour. Not many people so we could take our time. The lighting was bright so you could see everything. Really enjoyed the tour. I am claustrophobic but the caverns are huge so I felt fine. Highly recommended. I would like to have seen the other caves if we had time.
