I am about to start making new rear pillars,. The existing rotten pillars from the car are laminated. Was this the original method of construction ?

To remove you need to prise up the flange that was dressed down to cover the nails, lever the channel away from the roof, bit by bit, then tap back a bit allowing you to pull out the securing nail. If you are replacing the channel with a new one then simply lever away from the roof. Hope that makes sense. Alec. Kevin.

Having just assembled a Woodies kit, I agree that where possible, both glue and screws are a good idea. One heads up (that I learned the hard way) is that the lower wood pieces on either side are side specific.
Work on the Traveller
Work on the Traveller. I have some immediate work that needs to be completed on the Traveller that is pretty straightforward, however in the long run i need to sand and re-finish the wood. I am assuming the easiest way to so this is to remove the rear panels so #1 i do not scratch them, and #2 i get much better coverage overall.

Staining Ash on my 1968 Morris Minor Traveller. To start at the end: Can I stain Ash that has had previous application of "Danish Oil"? I recently imported a Morris Minor Traveller which is a "Woodie" station wagon made in England. The wood frame on the car was in poor condition so I bought a replacement kit from a well known supplier.
