About Ocean Alley

Ocean Alley have captivated audiences around the world with their infectious melody lines and memorable blend of psychedelic-surf-rock. October 2022 saw the release of the bands fourth album 'Low Altitude Living'. The album showcases why Ocean Alley continue on their unstoppable rise as one of Australia’s most exciting musical exports. As Baden explains, “Low altitude, being by the beach is where we all have the most peace. So naming the album Low Altitude Living made a lot of sense. The title of the album doesn’t necessarily represent any one song in particular, or tie them all together. But it does tie our band to the music. I feel like it’s more of a title that describes why we sound like Ocean Alley.” Their track 'Confidence' took out top spot in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2018, with their acclaimed second album ‘Chiaroscuro’ certified gold in Australia & New Zealand. The band have solidified their position as one of Australia's most exciting touring acts, making their mark on the local and international circuit with their consistent touring schedule, selling out countless shows across North America, Europe, UK and New Zealand, as well as playing memorable sets in Australia at Splendour In The Grass, Bluesfest, Falls Festival and the triple j One Night Stand, as well as overseas at Reading & Leeds (UK), BottleRock (USA) and Sziget (HUN).

Today, Australian six-piece Ocean Alley reveal exciting plans for twelve new dates for their upcoming UK & European tour this summer. They’ll play shows in Dublin, Brighton, Exeter, Bournemouth, Margate, Bristol, Birmingham and Glasgow, as well as several European cities this August and September. The news follows December’s announcement that they would be playing London’s Roundhouse and O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester, with a second Roundhouse date added after the first sold out in days. Having released their latest album Low Altitude Living in 2022, Ocean Alley embarked on their headline tour in summer 2023, playing London’s iconic The Troxy in June. The news of a return to UK soil in September 2024 comes as their 6x platinum hit  ‘Confidence’ , taken from their 2018 breakthrough Chiaroscuro, continues to enjoy viral success. Celebrating a 1.69M global daily average and total of 293M global streams – and surpassing over 1M Shazams – the track has been used by the likes of David Beckham, Snoop Dog, FC Barcelona, Liverpool FC, Ferrari and Wimbledon in videos.

Speaking on the news of their forthcoming UK tour, the band say: “We love playing in the UK, the crowd always brings it, and we can’t wait to be back for even more shows this summer!” 

Joining them on tour will be fellow Aussie surf rock outfit Hockey Dad. The duo’s most recent studio album, 2020’s Brain Candy, peaked at No.2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and their fourth studio album Rebuild Repeat is set for release this summer.

One of Australia’s most exciting musical exports, rock outfit Ocean Alley has taken the world by storm with their dynamic live performances, infectious melodies and faultless musicianship. Across four critically acclaimed albums, the six-piece – comprised of Baden Donegal (vocals), Angus Goodwin (guitar), Lach Galbraith (keys/vocals), Mitch Galbraith (guitar), Tom O’Brien (drums) and Nic Blom (bass) – have never wavered in their dedication to their craft, always grounded by a genuine passion for the creative exploration of music. Operating as a proudly independent band, their catalogue amounts to over 800 million streams, with over 80,000 tickets sold globally across their headline shows in 2023 alone.
