All resale tickets are verified by Ticketmaster

Peter Kay fans can get resale tickets via Ticketmaster

With the huge demand for Peter Kay tickets leaving thousands of fans disappointed over the weekend, many are already looking for alternatives to see the much-loved comedian.

Peter Kay fans were left feeling 'devastated' after tickets for the star's two Liverpool M&S Bank Arena dates sold out in less than half an hour. Fans of the comedian took to Twitter, claiming it was 'impossible' to snap up tickets for the tour.

Tickets went on sale at 10am on Saturday 12 November, and demand was extremely high. Peter Kay added continuous dates to his tour throughout the day to meet demands, but some fans were still left empty handed.

Ticketmaster has a 'resale' option in place for fans wanted to buy tickets, and fans wanting to sell them. The process of buying a resale ticket is exactly the same as when you buy a new ticket.

How to get resale tickets for Peter Kay's 2022- 25 UK tour

Each ticket is verified through Ticketmaster's 'Ticket Exchange' so the ticket and seat that fans buy, is the ticket they get. Ticketmaster advises that if the tickets you want aren't shown, or the amount of tickets you'd like isn't available, you may need to look closer to the time.

Currently, there are no resale tickets available for Peter Kay, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye out in the next few months. Resale tickets will have a purple circle symbol with two arrows and will be available to purchase online and via the app.

You can pay for resale tickets using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and Amex. A handling fee will be charged to cover the secure transfer of the ticket from the seller to you, and you won't nee to pay a delivery fee.

Resale tickets are shown on Ticketmaster seat maps as pink dots. The full number of seats listed is always shown, even if some of those seats have been sold, so you may not be able to buy them all.

How much will resale tickets cost for Peter Kay's 2022-25 tour

The prices of the resale tickets are set by individual sellers. It's up to the seller to list their tickets for the original price they paid, inclusive of fees, or at a lower price.

Ticketmaster will show the face value price during the checkout process so there aren't any hidden costs. The tickets may also have the original purchaser's name on them, but you'll still be able to get into the event. Ticketmaster will inform the venue that the tickets have been sold. You can keep your eye out for resale tickets for Peter Kay here.

You’ll Have To Act Fast If You Want Peter Kay Tour Tickets

The return of the garlic bread king is a hotly-anticipated event.

Comedian Peter Kay, who is going on tour in 2022 and 2023, on stage in Manchester to introduce the b...

Beloved comedian, and all-round TV icon , Peter Kay has announced that he’s going back on tour . It’s been over a decade since Kay has entertained the masses, having put on his last collection of shows in 2010. That particular run earned him the Guinness World Record for the biggest-selling stand-up tour of all time , having sold over a million tickets for 113 dates.

Kay’s upcoming tour will be much smaller overall, however there’s an extra special addition to the schedule, as Kay has now revealed he’ll be doing a monthly residency at London’s O2 Arena. “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy, and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now ,” Kay said. “And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35 — the same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.” Kay’s Better Late Than Never tour kicks off this December, starting in Manchester before making his way across the UK. Here’s everything you need to know before buying tickets for Kay’s hotly-anticipated comeback.

Where Is Peter Kay Touring?

The comedian will play shows across the UK , in addition to gigs in Dublin and Belfast. Kay will play double dates in Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham, and Cardiff, in addition to three dates in Sheffield.

2 & 3 December – AO Arena, Manchester

17 December – Utilita Arena, Birmingham

6 & 7 January – M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool

20 January – First Direct Arena, Leeds

17 February – Utilita Arena, Sheffield

23 & 24 February – SSE Arena, Belfast

9 & 10 March – Utilita Arena, Newcastle

23 March – Resorts World Arena, Birmingham

6 & 7 April – 3Arena, Dublin

5 & 6 May – OVO Hydro, Glasgow

19 May – First Direct Arena, Leeds

16 & 17 June – Cardiff International Arena, Cardiff

14 & 15 July – Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham

11 August – Utilita Arena, Sheffield

Peter Kay’s Monthly Residency At London’s O2

When the beloved comedian revealed the dates and locations for his upcoming UK tour, London-based fans were disheartened to have been skipped . But it turns out, Kay had bigger plans in mind for the capital city. During an appearance on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, the comedian announced a monthly residency at London’s O2 Arena from Dec. 16, 2022 to Nov. 18, 2023.

“Of course I’m not going to not do London,” he said. With this move, Kay becomes the first artist in history to perform monthly at London’s O2 for a whole year. The artist also expressed gratitude for fans, who welcomed his decade-late tour with warmth: “ Huw Edwards is going to queue up for tickets… Him? I cannot get my head (around) it.”

Where Can I Buy Peter Kay Tickets?

Tickets for Kay’s tour will be very popular, so it’s imperative to act fast. The comedian had planned to do shows in 2018 , but had to cancel due to family matters. However, he briefly appeared at a benefit concert marking the reopening of the Manchester Arena following the terrorist attack in May 2017, in addition to a couple of shows in 2021. Both shows at the Manchester O2 Apollo sold out within 30 minutes , so you better be prepared at 10 a.m. on November 12 when tickets for his upcoming tour go on sale. Tickets will start at £35, the same amount as during Kay’s 2010 tour, and there will be no pre-sale.

Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster UK , Ticketmaster IE , Gigs and Tours , and Kay’s website .

What's going on at Manchester's Co-op Live? The arena plagued with problems and postponements

Manchester Co-op Live will be the UK's biggest indoor arena when it opens - but exactly when that will happen is proving hard to pin down as issues with the building mean a slew of stars postponing or moving their shows.

Friday 3 May 2024 13:34, UK

peter kay tour resale tickets

Manchester Co-op Live will be the UK's biggest indoor arena - but it has been beset by problems before it has even opened.

A slew of gigs have been postponed or moved from the £365m venue, which - when it opens - will accommodate 23,500 people.

A preview gig by singer Rick Astley is the only occasion where audiences have been inside. But even then, capacity was slashed just before it was due to start.

Comedian Peter Kay was supposed to be the first official act on 23 April - but his performances were rescheduled and since then there has been a domino of events being pushed back.

Sky News looks at what has happened, what is behind the delays to opening, and what event ticketholders should do.

What events have been affected?

Olivia Rodrigo

US singer Olivia Rodrigo's sold-out performances scheduled for 3 and 4 May have been postponed .

Her Co-op Live gigs were two of the 10 UK dates on her European and US tour. The new dates are yet to be announced.

Boogie Wit Da Hoodie

The US rapper's gig on 1 May was cancelled at the last minute, with fans already gathered outside.

Doors were supposed to open at 6.30pm for an 8pm start. But a "venue-related technical issue" meant fans were told - via a post on the venue's X account at 6.40pm - that the gig would not go ahead.

Take That have moved their upcoming gigs to Manchester's AO Arena after the problems at Co-op Live.

All of their Manchester shows in May have been moved and are on the same dates as before apart from 8 May which has been switched to 9 May.

But the British pop group are still planning to go ahead with two June dates at Co-op Live.

Barry Manilow

Barry Manilow has said he has booked another venue as a "back up plan" for his scheduled date at Co-op Live on 19 May.

He said the rival AO Arena had been booked for the same date if Co-op Live was not ready.

British rock band Keane were due to play at the venue on 5 May, but said they were "absolutely gutted" to cancel the gig because of "ongoing technical issues beyond our control".

"We are doing all we can to reschedule the show," they added.

Rick Astley

Rick Astley's performance on 20 April was a "test event" for the venue but ticket capacity was slashed just hours before his gig was due to begin.

He did perform at the arena and there were reports on social media that the event was a success.

Astley fans who had their tickets cancelled were instead offered seats to see US rock band The Black Keys play - but their show has also been affected.

The Black Keys

The new date for The Black Keys is 15 May after their original gig on 27 April was cancelled.

Peter Kay, who was scheduled to be the first performer at the venue, was forced to postpone his two shows for a second time .

His first performances on 23 and 24 April had to be postponed with less than 48 hours' notice and will now take place on 23 and 24 May.

He said it was "very disappointing but your safety is important, and I won't compromise that".

So when will events actually start?

Organisers at Co-op Live said the venue will be taking "a short pause to events" before welcoming members of the public to the arena from 14 May.

A Co-op Live statement said: "At this time, we do not expect further impact on our opening season. We are aware our actions have frustrated and angered ticketholders."

What's behind the problems?

The issue is with the building's heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

During the soundcheck for the Boogie Wit Da Hoodie gig, a component of the venue's heating and ventilation system separated from the ductwork.

Venue bosses said while they thought it was "an isolated incident caused by a factory defect", they needed to inspect all the similar nozzles.

There will be an "independent inspection of all elements of the arena ceiling" while the venue remains closed, according to bosses.

What should ticketholders do?

Olivia Rodrigo fans were told they could either hold on to their tickets for a rescheduled performance - with dates yet to be announced - or request a refund.

Refunds will also be available to ticketholders for other rescheduled events if they cannot make the new date.

Fans will be contacted by their ticketseller about new dates and will be able to request a refund through them.

US-based venue operator Oak View Group said organisers would work with music managers and promoters to "limit the impact on the opening season schedule".

"Where necessary, we will identify alternate dates, and will continually reassess to provide fans with sufficient notice regarding imminent shows.

"Should shows be cancelled or rescheduled, fans will be contacted by their point of purchase and offered a full refund where preferred."

What else have the groups behind the venue said?

The arena's general manager Gary Roden announced his resignation last month following the slew of issues.

Tim Leiweke, chairman and chief executive of Oak View Group which developed Co-op Live in partnership with the City Football Group, said they could not run any event until it was "absolutely safe to do so".

"It was a very unexpected situation but without a doubt the right decision. I deeply apologise for the impact that this has had on ticketholders and fans," Mr Leiweke said.

A Co-op Group spokesperson said: "As naming rights sponsor for Co-op Live we are disappointed with these further schedule changes.

"Co-op is a sponsor and does not own or run the venue, and we have made it clear to Oak View Group, who are responsible for the building, that the impact on ticketholders must be addressed as a priority."

Lidl says it will host Liam Gallagher if Co-op Live arena cancels show

B udget supermarket Lidl has said it will host  Liam Gallagher if the crisis-hit Co-op Live arena cannot due to ongoing 'technical issues'.

The former Oasis frontman is scheduled to perform on his Definitely Maybe anniversary tour at the troubled Manchester venue on June 15 and 16, and June 27 and 28.

But after the venue axed a series of gigs, including those by comedian Peter Kay and American singer Olivia Rodrigo , Gallagher joked that he would play at Lidl instead.

Replying to a fan who asked what the plan was if Co-op Live was to cancel his Manchester performances, the star said: 'Gig in Lidl.'

Lidl jumped on the opportunity to collaborate with the former Oasis frontman, suggesting a set list for his performance at 'Lidl Arena' which included Don't Look Back in Hanger and Champagne Superoffer.

Amid the wave of cancellations at the as-yet-to-open venue, global music icon Barry Manilow also sought to ease the concerns of worried fans over his upcoming Co-op Live arena gig by revealing a 'back up plan'.

Manilow's team confirmed they reserved rival Manchester venue AO Arena on May 19, just in case any further problems arise.

The extraordinary move was confirmed in a statement released by Barry's husband and manager Garry Kief on his official X page last night.

It said they 'shared the concerns' of fans over the chaotic situation unfolding at Co-op Live but that they could be rest assured the Could it Be Magic star will perform in Manchester one way or another on May 19.

Manchester's Co-op Live arena axed a series of gigs due to ongoing technical issues including those of three-time Grammy winner Olivia Rodrigo.

The American singer was scheduled to take place on May 3 and 4 as part of her Guts World Tour.

To avoid disappointing fans, Take That moved their shows from the Co-op Live to AO Arena in Manchester.

Footage filmed outside the arena this week shows the area looking like a construction site, with a digger and dumper parked up outside among building materials.

On Wednesday the arena cited a 'ventilation defect' for postponing a gig whilst fans queued outside.

Doors were scheduled to open at 6.30pm on May 1, but just 10 minutes before showtime the venue embarrassingly posted on its X account and handed out letters asking fans to 'leave the area'.

A statement by Co-op Live on its X page read: 'Due to a venue-related technical issue, tonight's A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie show will no longer go ahead.

'We kindly ask fans to leave the area. Tickets holders will receive further information in due course.

'We deeply apologise for the significant inconvenience this will cause for many.'

The venue's developer, the Oak View Group, later told the PA news agency there had been a ventilation defect.

During a soundcheck, a component of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system used to direct air separated from the ductwork, they said.

The organisation believe it to be an 'isolated incident caused by a factory defect' but it was not able to verify that all similar nozzles were free of similar defects.

Nobody was injured in the incident and the installer, contractor and third-party inspector will now test each nozzle to confirm they are free of defect, it said.

Tim Leiweke, chairman and chief executive of the Oak View Group, said: 'The safety and security of all visiting and working on Co-op Live is our utmost priority, and we could not and will not run any event until it is absolutely safe to do so.

'Today was a very unexpected situation but without a doubt the right decision. I deeply apologise for the impact that this has had on ticket holders and fans.'

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, real name Julius Dubose, earlier told fans 'something happened with the venue during a soundcheck'.

He wrote on X: 'Something happened with the venue while I was at soundcheck today that caused cancellation of the show.

'We are working on rescheduling in the next few days.

'I'm heated about the situation too, but safety first Manchester, I got you, just stay tuned for further info.'

But fans reacted with fury to the news the gig had been cancelled with people queuing outside

The ongoing issues forced Gary Roden, general manager of the venue, to quit.

Rebecca Kane Burton, an ex-boss of London 's O2 Arena, has stepped in as interim general manager.

The Co-op Group, who has naming rights for the venue, issued a statement to MailOnline in which it said it was left 'shocked' by the late cancellation.

A Co-op Group spokesperson said: 'We are relieved that no-one has been injured, but we share the disappointment and frustration of ticket holders, many of whom are Co-op members, with the continuing delay to the opening of Co-op Live and the disruption that this is causing to everyone who has been looking forward to attending events.

'We will be seeking a full explanation from Oak View Group (OVG), who are responsible for the building, to the obvious questions arising from this, together with a clear plan from the Co-op Live venue management team at OVG for opening the venue and postponed and future events.

'Safety is of course the number one priority and it is critical that Co-op members and other ticket holders can enjoy events in a venue with the very highest levels of security and safety measures in place.

'We are very grateful for Manchester City Council's and the emergency services' continued engagement with OVG to ensure that Co-op Live opens as soon as possible.'

Headaches for the arena, which is next door to Manchester City's Etihad Stadium, became patently clear after capacity for a test event two weeks ago was reduced with just hours' notice due to power issues.

READ MORE:  Peter Kay is forced to cancel yet ANOTHER show at Manchester's new £350m arena as venue boss quits amid delay chaos

Comedian Peter Kay's huge gig at Manchester's brand new Co-op Live arena was cancelled, just hours before he was due to take to the stage at the 23,500-capacity venue.

The comedian's second show at the venue set for Wednesday evening was also cancelled.

The highly-anticipated show would have been the grand opening for the city's flagship new venue, the largest in the UK.

But just a day before the show was due to take place, it was announced that both shows had been cancelled, as work is still to be completed on the venue, which is yet to be signed off by the council's building control.

Co-op Live confirmed that both shows would be rescheduled, and will instead would take place on the 29th and 30th April.

Mr Kay said in a statement he was 'gutted' the shows were cancelled.

'I'm truly gutted as I know how disappointing this will be for everyone with tickets, but obviously it's a brand-new venue and it's important that everything is finished and safe for full capacity audiences,' he said.

It comes after problems with power at the site, which are believed to have affected the fire safety and emergency services communication systems, led to bosses slashing attendance from around 11,000 to 4,000 at a test event - less than two hours before it was due to start.

Manchester City Council's building control department cannot issue a completion certificate while work is still ongoing at the site, which is understood last week to include corridors and wiring.

The venue could still operate without this certificate after presenting council bosses with a mitigation strategy to manage potential risks, although details of this plan have not been made public.

Previously, bosses at Co-op Live said teams were on-site 'throwing everything at it' to prepare for the venue's grand opening.

Take That move gigs to different Manchester venue over Co-op Live issues

Boyband cites ‘technical issues’ at arena where Olivia Rodrigo, Keane and Peter Kay had also been due to perform

Take That have announced they will not be performing at the new Co-op Live Arena due to “ongoing technical issues” with the venue in Manchester .

The boyband had been due to perform from Tuesday but will instead switch their shows to the rival AO Arena.

The UK’s biggest indoor arena, which cost £365m and has postponed its opening numerous times , said it will be taking “a short pause to events” before welcoming members of the public from 14 May.

A statement from Co-op Live said this was to “fully ensure the safety and security of fans and artists” and allow for an “independent inspection of all elements of the arena ceiling” after an issue with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

On Instagram, Take That wrote: “Given the ongoing technical issues around the opening of Co-op Live we have taken the difficult decision to move our May shows to the AO Arena where we have enjoyed many great nights over the years.

“This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but we wanted to give our fans as much notice as possible.

“We’re mindful many of you will already have travel and accommodation plans in place, so we have chosen this option to minimise inconvenience to as many people as possible.

“Our dates in June in Manchester remain unaffected.”

All of Take That’s shows have been transferred and are the same dates as before except for 8 May, which has been changed to 9 May.

Earlier, Keane, who have been celebrating 20 years of their debut album Hopes and Fears, said they were “really disappointed” as they revealed the postponement of a gig on Sunday. The group said it was “entirely beyond our control”.

In a statement on X, Co-op Live said: “Following the events that led to the cancelled A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie show on 1 May, we have decided to take a short pause to events at Co-op Live to fully ensure the safety and security of fans and artists visiting the venue. This time will allow for an independent inspection of all elements of the arena ceiling.”

It added: “At this time, we do not expect further impact on our opening season. We are aware our actions have frustrated and angered ticket-holders. We know you’ve incurred significant disruption, and are finding a way to help make it right.”

Tim Leiweke, chair and chief executive of US-based venue operator Oak View Group, apologised for the delays and to “all those that have been affected”.

On Wednesday night the venue postponed its opening show for the third time, just over an hour before rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was due to perform, because of a problem during the sound check. The US musician’s gig is now scheduled to take place on Saturday at the AO Arena.

Olivia Rodrigo had been due to perform at the Co-op Live Arena on Friday and Saturday as part of her Guts world tour but her shows have also been postponed.

The standup comedian Peter Kay was scheduled to be the first performer at the arena but his show had to be postponed with less than 48 hours’ notice after a test event.

A Co-op Group spokesperson said: “As naming rights sponsor for Co-op Live we are disappointed with these further schedule changes.

“We fully appreciate and understand the impact and upset the delays have caused to ticket-holders and our Co-op members.

“Co-op is a sponsor and does not own or run the venue, and we have made it clear to Oak View Group, who are responsible for the building, that the impact on ticket-holders must be addressed as a priority.

“We are pleased that they will shortly be putting plans in place to do so.

“We also understand that the necessary safety checks following yesterday’s incident are being completed and independently verified so that Co-op members and other ticket-holders can be reassured that the venue has the very highest levels of security and safety measures.”
