Our main walking tour is a sunset walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and through DUMBO (ending with an optional ferry ride to Manhattan).

Some of our tours are pay-what-you-want , which means that you get to decide how much to pay for the experience.

The outing begins with a walk over the famous bridge and continues on to explore two different neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

All aboard madame morbid’s trolley tours return to brooklyn’s haunted streets.

Standing on a random sidewalk in Williamsburg on a Saturday evening, the hustle and bustle of a weekend night in Brooklyn can be distracting. But nothing quite catches your eye like a 20th century trolley rolling down a busy street.

After coming to a full stop, the vehicle opens its bus-like paneled doors to welcome guests. On certain roads, the trolley’s robust size may cause visitors to stay alert as they must cut through a bike lane to enter or exit.

Once inside, riders settle into leather seats embroidered with golden buttons. Mini chandeliers hang above the red carpeted aisle, while smoke envelops the wooden interior from the back, setting the stage for a ghoulish journey through New York’s second-largest borough.

Madame Morbid’s Trolley Tours have been guiding guests through the most haunted and possessed plots of the borough since 2017. And starting this month, they’re back on the road as spooky season inches closer.

Allison Chase, a tour guide and one of the founders, was inspired to enter this line of work by her father, who ran a seasonal haunted house when she was a child. After trying desk jobs, she discovered that leading haunted tours is her true calling.

When you’re settled into those leather cushions, looking up to the front of the car as she speaks into a mic, it becomes clear why this is her calling. Chase seamlessly weaves between gruesome facts, pop quiz questions, and individual stories of Brooklyn’s haunted past, all while maintaining her balance. Her ability to stay upright is impressive, especially considering what she’s dealing with.

Chase originally searched for a short bus on eBay for her tours, but a friend inspired her to think bigger. “My friend was like, ‘Well, if you’re gonna do it, go bigger,’” she said. So instead, she found someone who made trolley frames and custom-designed the rest of the vehicle.

The sheer size and design of the car make it quite a spectacle as driver Laurentiu Oirca navigates the cobblestone roads near the Brooklyn Bridge. He’s been driving the trolley for a few years now and says that staying attentive is what allows him and the other drivers to do their jobs amidst the regular NYC traffic nightmares.

“I also say to the drivers, our main thing here is to stay focused and stay calm,” he said. “We have our tour guides on the stage, there’s no reason to disturb our guests with anything that’s outside.”

Chase and the other tour guides have such faith in Oirca that they don’t worry as he navigates tight squeezes and fends off pesky drivers. Jaywalkers and people on the sidewalk often look on in amazement as the monolith soars down streets and avenues.

But it’s not just the public that’s captivated — the audience members on the bus are, too. A television at the front of the car plays informational videos featuring pictures, celebrity cameos and narration about some of the sights and stories highlighted on the tour.

“We just want to improve, like to us the product is everything,” she said. “All the tour guides, drivers, they like get so immersed in the history and really love it that they go home and research.”

One of the cooler aspects of the tour is when the sun begins to dip below the skyline, and the candles on the side of the trolley flicker on, adding an extra layer of eeriness to the next stops, including the site of the 1960 plane crash over Park Slope.

As the tour wraps up on the same street in Williamsburg where it began, riders hop off into the Brooklyn night, having learned some of the spookiest facts about the neighborhood many of them call home.

When Chase originally pitched the haunted concept to her friends in the mid-2010s, they weren’t exactly supportive. “I was always talking to my friends all the time about how I was going to open a ghost tour, and everyone was laughing at me,” she said.

Now, almost a decade later, Madame Morbid is creatively doing something unique that’s attracting attention and interest — something she’s quite proud of. “I feel like this company, people want to be a part of it,” she said.

Lily Allen has opened up about her decision to send her two children to private school in Brooklyn, despite her misgivings due to her own experiences.

The pop star, author and actor discussed education with her friend and podcast co-host, Miquita Oliver, on the latest episode of Miss Me?, during which she responded to a listener who was worried about sending her child to private school.

“I think there are great public schools and there are great private schools,” she began, “so I don’t think that it neccessarily is about one or the other, it’s about what is available to you in your area, in which you live.”

She said that her two daughters, Ethel, 12, and Marnie, 11 , had been state educated while her family was living in London because they were close to a “really great” school, which Oliver also attended.

“When we moved to America they went to public school here until the end of elementary school, and then we switched them to private school,” she said.

“That was not because I disagreed with the public schooling system, it was because there is a lottery here in Brooklyn, where we live, and the school that was offered to Ethel was a) too far away for us to commute, and b) I didn’t like the school, I didn’t think it was a very good school.

“So that was the option that was afforded to her and we had the resources to do something else, and I made that decision.”

Allen emphasised that she believed there were “great and vital” public schools and, had there been one in the vicinty, her children would be attending it.

Oliver pointed out that both she and Allen attended a mix of state and private schools: “But I thought you hated private school?”

“Yes,” Allen responded. “I don’t really like being in and among people that have superiority complexes, and sometimes in private schools you find people who think that they are better than other people, and I don’t work well in that kind of an environment.

“I like to feel part of a community, and I don’t neccessarily think that a lot of private schools are very nurturing, in that sense.”

The “Smile” singer attended a total of 13 schools during her childhood, including King Charles III’s junior alma mater Hill House School. She was expelled from a number of them.

Earlier this month, Allen admitted that she still feels self-conscious about her lack of traditional education , having left school when she was 15.

“I’m not educated,” she said. “I left school when I was 15 and I don’t even have one GCSE, not one qualification, and I am ashamed of it.”

She later revealed: “I really wanted to go into midwifery or obstetrics because that was something that really interested me, but because I didn’t have any diplomas in GCSEs or A Levels it seemed too difficult, too much. I was too lazy.”

“And actually too embarrassed,” she continued. “I thought I’d have to go and do my A Levels with a bunch of 18 year olds and I was already in my mid-thirties. I didn’t wanna do that.”

In the latest episode, Allen also said she felt “incredibly lucky” to have encountered people from all walks of life: “It’s important to me, I don’t want to just surround myself by people who have the same sort of income as me and the same sort of house as I do.”

Meghan Markle just wrapped up her trip to Colombia with Prince Harry, and on Saturday, she epitomized summertime style during a visit to the village of San Basilio de Palenque.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, paired a white knit Argent tank ($145) with a matching linen Posse skirt ($250).

And both pieces — surprisingly affordable by Markle’s standards — are still available to shop, though likely not for much longer.

Markle used her accessories as a show of support for Colombian designers, opting for a Hannia Char boater hat ($91) and Maria E. Esquivia earrings ($70).

“What a joy and honor to see you wearing my accessories @sussexroyal: you are adorned with an original piece crafted with immense love and care,” Esquivia wrote on Instagram Sunday after spotting the duchess in her earrings, which are available to purchase via DM.

Markle also wore her beloved Cartier Juste Un Clou necklace ($16,200) and Ariel Gordon Imperial Disc Pendant (from $1,700), the latter engraved with the names of her children, Archie and Lilibet.

The royal finished her outfit with gold Ray-Ban aviators ($150) and Emme Parsons sandals ($450).

Elsewhere during her Colombian tour, the Duchess of Sussex showed off a shimmery pink dress by Johanna Ortiz , another local talent, and a silk shirt by her friend Victoria Beckham .
