Wielding one of the most identifiable voices of all-time, Seal has left an indelible imprint on pop, R&B, soul, and dance music. Along the way, he has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, generated over 1 billion streams, and garnered four GRAMMY ®  Awards, three BRIT Awards, Two Ivor Novello Awards, and one MTV VMA. As a versatile and vital force throughout popular culture, his catalog encompasses ubiquitous anthems such as “Killer,” “Crazy,” and “Kiss From A Rose,” which toppled the  Billboard  Hot 100 at #1, scored GRAMMY ®  Awards for  “Record of the Year”  and  “Song of the Year”  and adorned his quadruple-platinum 1994 epic,  Seal II . In retrospect,  Stereogum  likened it to a  “radio wave sent out across the universe from a much, much prettier planet . ”  In addition to appearing in films by iconic directors such as Spike Lee and the late Joel Schumacher, his music has been celebrated with covers by Alanis Morissette, Bastille, and George Michael, to name a few. Speaking to his enduring influence, Seal notably appeared in John Hamburg’s  Me Time  alongside Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg ,  The Lonely Island’s cult classic  Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping , Tyler Perry’s  The Passion ,  America’s Got Talent , and  The Masked Singer . Most recently, he earned a GRAMMY ® Award nod in the category of  “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album”  for  Standards  in 2019. Along the way, he has collaborated with everyone from Jeff Beck, Joni Mitchell, and Santana to P!nk, John Legend, and Gallant. However, Seal’s voice resounds louder than ever with more music in 2022 and beyond.

The Buggles Finally Setting Out On Proper Tour As Support For Seal

  • By Ryan Dillon

2023 marks 30 years since the world was introduced to the enigmatic soul of Seal. The R&B/Soul star released his self-titled debut in 1991 and was instantly heralded as one of the most exciting releases the genre has heard in years. In celebration of the anniversary, the icon has a few plans to commemorate his debut. Today (January 18), Seal has announced a long spring tour across the U.S. where he will perform his historic debut entirely, and it only gets better. Seal also plans to go through his sophomore album Seal II from front to back on the tour as well.

The tour will be put into the hands of the legendary producer and longtime Seal collaborator Trevor Horn . Horn will play as musical director of the tour commemorating a landmark of his own. Horn’s legendary band The Buggles will take the opening slot for this string of shows. The Buggles, whose storied legacy outshines their output, only released two albums, their debut album produced their hit single “T.V Killed The Radio Star” which doubled as the first music video to ever be played on MTV.

The Buggles have always been deemed a studio band, meaning they never hit the road for a full tour with their music. Besides one-off promotional and T.V. appearances, the duo never embarked on a full tour with their albums. After the band called it quits following their 1981 sophomore album, they reunited in 1998 and reunion shows began to pop up more frequently. Considering the last time the band performed live was back in 2011, their position as an opener for Seal’s upcoming tour is almost as exciting as the headliner being that this is the first official full tour for the storied Buggles band.

Along with the tour announcement, Seal hit the stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to perform his historic “Kiss of A Rose”. You can watch that here:

The tour will have Seal and The Buggles traveling across the country starting out on April 25 at the Arizona Financial Theater in Phoenix. The 25-date tour sees Seal hitting cities like Philadelphia, Austin, and Atlanta. See the full list of dates below:

All Seal Needs Is Love

Embarking on a tour celebrating his music career’s 30th anniversary, the singer and songwriter explained how tennis, Joni Mitchell and ChatGPT have inspired him.

A pixelated image of Seal, smiling broadly.

By Jeremy Gordon

The singer and songwriter Seal is one of modern music’s most ardent believers in the power of love, but that doesn’t mean you should look to him for romantic advice. “You’re headed for disaster if you ask me,” he joked, before immediately providing what sounded like a practical perspective on how to make a relationship work. “I’ve found that it’s most productive when both parties see themselves, and then there’s this third entity which is like a plant. That plant needs water every day, and you love that plant because you — both as an entity, and as individuals — are all that it has.”

This type of focused dedication was on Seal’s mind as he prepared for a tour celebrating 30 years of his music career, an anniversary that prompted some reflection. “I can’t believe how fortunate I am to still be here,” he said in a video interview from his home studio in Los Angeles. “Every day above ground is a great day, as far as being a musician is concerned.”

He emphasized his good fortune, like when the film director Joel Schumacher gave new life to “Kiss From a Rose,” which hadn’t made any commercial impact with its 1994 arrival, by incorporating it into the 1995 film “Batman Forever.” Upon rerelease, the song hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart and won Grammys for record and song of the year. “It was exactly the same song that failed the first time. That’s a big, lucky break.”

But Seal, 60, isn’t fixated on the past. He cited Travis Scott’s 2020 performance inside the video game Fortnite as a potential model for how artists may reach fans in the future, remarking that “it won’t be long before we’re at a YouTube concert, virtually rubbing shoulders.” Still, he’s excited to see real-life fans on his tour this spring, which starts in late April. “Any time I get to play live for people, it’s like going on a date for the first time,” he said. “There are no bad audiences — only mediocre performances.”

As he prepared to hit the road, Seal spoke about 10 of his beloved cultural inspirations. These are edited excerpts from the conversation.

It’s always on my mind. If you’ve listened to my music, I’ve been singing about that out of the gate. Every situation is almost certainly different when you choose to lean in with love; it doesn’t really matter what it is. Of course, love requires a degree of vulnerability. The ultimate kind of love — what we’re trying to achieve — is unconditional. I think that’s its purest form, and I also think that’s the reason for our existence. This is all an experiment; the point of it is happiness. Without unconditional love, I don’t know if it’s possible to achieve that — certainly not on this earth.

I love tennis because it’s an allegory for life. I love the discipline; I love the work; I love the problem solving; I love how, in the most incredible way, it relates to singing. In order to play tennis well, you have to go against everything your body wants; you have to relax, you have to almost relinquish control. I know that’s contrary to popular belief, but that’s singing: You let yourself, rather than make yourself.

Leica M Camera

I saw this director, Mike Figgis, at a candlelit dinner; he was taking pictures, and I was intrigued how he wasn’t using a flash. The next day, I went into a store and bought the exact same setup. That’s where the love affair began. It’s the one camera that gets out of the way between the subject I’m trying to capture and myself. By virtue of its design, the person can still see your face when you’re taking the picture; you still have that engagement and connection, opposed to the viewfinder being in the middle.

Joni Mitchell

One of my great memories of Joni was performing “Both Sides Now” with her in the audience. It’s one of the highlights of my life, the ability to work with someone who had such an impact on your growing up. [Seal sang on Mitchell’s 1994 song “How Do You Stop.” ] It’s the stuff dreams are made of; I just remember pinching myself to make sure it was happening. She’s quite remarkable; she’s a great storyteller, and authentic to the core. To see her onstage singing , after everything she’s been through, was amazing.

Necklace From My Daughter Lou

She gave it to me on my birthday, and that’s everything. Anyone who has a son or a daughter, when they give something to you — whether it’s their love, or a valuable lesson or something like a necklace — it’s not so much what it is, but the spirit and the soul of the person behind it. They start out as kids, and they end up as these people with their own outlook and philosophies on life, so the gift is more about their thought process, and who they are behind it. It’s both beautiful and heartwarming — you realize they’re their own people with their own views on the world, and what’s important to them.

Carol Christian Poell

I don’t like to call him a designer, because he’s more than that — he’s an artist much in the same way that a musician or a painter is an artist. I’ve been wearing his clothes since he started, and I just love the way he sees things — his attention to detail in the silhouette and the shape. I can spot somebody wearing a Carol costume at 100 yards. He doesn’t do bad stuff; that’s why he’s my favorite.

It’s a large part of who I am — you can take the boy out of London, but you never take London out of the boy. I like walking around where I grew up, just triggering those memories, but I also love the West End — anywhere in London, to be honest. I love my city, warts and all. It takes about two weeks of that dreadful weather to bring me to my senses and remind me why I left, but I’m lucky enough that I’m able to go back fairly regularly.

To not be curious about it would be akin to being a Luddite, or an ostrich with your head stuck in the sand. It’s here , and it’s part of our evolution — for that reason, you can’t fight it, and you can’t really see it as this enemy that’s going to be the end of mankind. My experience with it is I started out by thinking it was a machine, but once I started to relate to it as though I were talking to a person, this incredible collaboration started — I would ask maybe one or two questions, and it would spark my imagination and ability to create. I think it’s incredible, and I think we’re at an amazing point in our evolution as a species.

Goodall Acoustic Guitar

Sometimes a melody I’m writing is in my head, but more often than not, it’s on a guitar. I think handmade instruments are just beautiful things; they’re transport mechanisms to convey this phenomenon known as music. I love acoustic guitars, and Goodalls are my favorite. It’s all subjective — Martins are great to record with, but I’m pretty heavy-handed and Martins typically don’t like when you bash them. Goodalls, you can play them loud but they’re great at lower volumes, and of course the craftsmanship is extraordinary.

Do I sit and meditate every day? Probably, but not in a way that you might imagine. If it’s not sitting down in a kumbaya position and breathing — which I rarely do — it is playing tennis, which is a form of meditation. Having a degree of focus whilst being in a state — it’s a form of meditation. The thing I enjoy most is the balance, and the slowing down of the mind. That’s really important.

If you want to hear everything he’s been working on, take a peek at Seal’s Spotify account to explore.

Seal opening act

While we’re not quite sure who the “special guests” Seal teased are, we can confirm that The Buggles will open for Seal.

The Buggles, who you might know for their massive hit “Video Killed The Radio Star,” also happen to be Trevor Horn’s band.

This run of shows will be the band’s first since 2011 according to Setlist.FM .

Want to brush up on all things Buggles?

We recommend streaming “The Plastic Age,” “Elstree” and “Clean, Clean.”

Seal–World Tour 2023

GRAMMY® award-winning global icon Seal will embark on a massive 30TH Anniversary Tour across North America this spring. Produced by Live Nation, he will team up with longtime producer and trusted collaborator Trevor Horn, who will take on the role of musical director for the run of shows; additionally, Horn’s acclaimed new wave band The Buggles will be featured as special guest performers.

The 30TH Anniversary Tour will commemorate three decades of his landmark self-titled debut album Seal (1991) and eponymous follow-up Seal II (1994). He will be performing the records in their entirety for the first time, delivering a set highlighted by classic chart-topping anthems such as “Crazy,” “Future Love Paradise,” “Killer,” and “Kiss From A Rose.” Expect soul staples and standards peppered throughout the set, showcasing the full spectrum of his incredible repertoire.

Against All Odds, The Buggles Will Tour America, Opening For Seal In 2023 Hits Tour

seal tour 2023 band members

Great Googley Moogley! I got a mind stunning message from my friend Mr. Ware this morning that demands I bump my planned posting for this breaking news. Hot on the heels of having read Trevor Horn’s zippy autobio , came the news that the reason why we paid attention to Horn in the first place , his band The Buggles , will be touring the world this year [and possibly next] as the opening act for ZTT star Seal ‘s show celebrating 30 years of his first two albums.

Seal will be playing “Seal I” and Seal II” in their entirety, along with other setlist features, we’re sure. Since Seal has sold millions of those discs, and keeping in mind that Trevor Horn produced them, no doubt there was the budget to enlist Horn as the Music Director. At that point the notion of rounding up The Buggles to be the opening act wasn’t that great a leap! After all, Horn would be hand picking the band members for the Seal show. Having the same people play the opening set means that there won’t be much if any breakdown between sets.

And once I wrapped my head around the concept that The Buggles would actually be touring America in a few months, I got to thinking. If Trevor was there, I’m sure the budget for Geoff Downes could be found as well. According to Retropop , Downes will be there as well. So in a few months, two hours away from where I live The Freaking Buggles will actually be on tour with Seal, playing the opening set in what’s sure to be a fantastic sounding concert. As we know, Trevor Horn does nothing by half-measures!

And let’s place this in the right context. The Buggles never played any concerts when they were releasing records. The first Buggles live gig was at the 2004 “Produced By Trevor Horn” Prince’s Trust mega event at Wembley Stadium! Following that, I know of two other shows The Buggles played. A 2010 fund-raiser for the hospital where Horn’s then comatose wife lay in their care, and a 2011 Alison Moyet show at the O2, London. Then… nada . Until now. So what are those dates?

Seal + The Buggles | 2023 Tour | USA

April 25 | Phoenix, AZ | Arizona Financial Theatre April 28 | Houston, TX | Bayou Music Center April 29 | Austin, TX | Bass Concert Hall April 30 | Dallas, TX | Music Hall at Fair Park May 02 | New Orleans, LA | Saenger Theatre May 04 | Charlotte, NC | Ovens Auditorium May 06 | Atlanta, GA | Fox Theatre May 07 | Louisville, KY | Louisville Palace May 10 | Washington D.C. | The Anthem May 11 | Philadelphia, PA | The Met May 12 | Boston, MA Boch | Centre Wang Theatre May 15 | Toronto, ON | Massey Hall May 17 | Indianapolis, IN | Murat Theatre May 19 | Minneapolis, MN | Orpheum Theatre May 21 | Detroit, MI | Fox Theatre May 23 | New York, NY | Beacon Theatre May 26 | St. Louis, MO | Stifel Theatre May 27 | Chicago, IL | Chicago Theatre May 30 | Denver, CO | Bellco Theatre June 02 | Las Vegas, NV | Venetian Theatre June 03 | Las Vegas, NV | Venetian Theatre June 06 | Oakland, CA | Paramount Theatre June 07 | Los Angeles, CA | Greek Theatre June 10 | Portland, OR | Keller Auditorium June 12 | Seattle, WA | Paramount Theatre

Ooof! That’s soooooo tempting. Charlotte is just two hours away. But I really don’t feel comfortable seeing concerts now. I’m not sure I’ll ever do that again, the way things are looking. And I can guarantee that the pandemic will not miraculously evaporate in two months. So I really can’t see the formerly unthinkable: The Buggles will be playing a concert two hours away and I will not be attending. At the very least, I will be spared the nerve-shredding, wallet-gouging experience of buying tickets from TicketMonster .

But if you think otherwise, the tickets go on sale the Friday after next, January 27th. At the usual places I would prefer not to link to.

OMG…a Portland date, and it’s a Saturday, at a nice theater that we like….we’ve done several concerts in the past year, so it will come down to cost. But to think that one has the opportunity to even consider such a thing…!!

' src=

Big Mark – The costs will he high. Guaranteed. It’s Seal with Trevor Horn’s hand-picked band. But yeah, it’s more a case of just imagining that it is happening at all! I’m sure that Ron would have been there in spite of Seal.

' src=

Not directly related, but talk about bands coming out of the woodwork…I just found out the incredible French new wave electronic band Martin Dupont is coming to the states in May! The week they come to San Francisco, I’ve already got the Molchat Doma/Nuovo Testemento and Ladytron shows. I haven’t gone to three shows in a week in years. No way can I pass up Martin Dupont. I wear a mask to shows for safety. Life is too short to miss certain bands!

' src=

Double-mask and avoid the SRO area and you have a very low risk. In fact I would expect there is no SRO area for a show like this except at arena dates.

Turns out the Seattle venue is one I know will be a seated event (it’s a former movie palace), so that makes it a bit more likely we’d go. If Trevor brings Mr. Woolley along for Buggle backup/Seal’s guitarist, goddam it, I’m in!

' src=

I’m going to the show in my town, but does anyone know if the Buggles finished the new album that they were working on and will release it this year?

John – Welcome to the comments! The last I’d heard of any “new Buggles” material were mentions in 2016 or so. So your guess is as good as mine, but let’s admit it… the timing could not be any better for a Buggles world tour now would it?

' src=

Without wishing to downplay your concerns covid-wise, I have been to many gigs since lockdown ceased here in the UK and, fingers crossed, haven’t succumbed. I’m fully ‘jabbed’ and take reasonable precautions, but don’t wear a mask at gigs. Very few do, if any. It seems a shame to miss the experience.

Fair enough, hope you reach a point where you feel comfortable attending again. My wife and I wonder if we’ve had it but didn’t realise… I have had moments standing at packed gigs and thinking, oh, oh… Let’s hope I don’t come to regret my relaxed approach:)

' src=

My daughter brought COVID home over the holidays and, despite vaccinations everyone got it but me (I had it last year, so maybe that helped). So, yes, COVID is still a concern. Hopefully things will be better by the summer.

' src=

Do I have to pay for the whole ticket if I’m going to skip the headliner? I mean, he’s alright, but I don’t really have any interest in seeing Seal.

postpostmoderndad – Hah! You have made visible the transparent pachyderm in the room!

Bless you sir for telling us, otherwise I might not have heard! And The Buggles with Seal, that’s a great billing. I cannot pass up the chance to see The Buggles. Dang, I’m starting to get giddy just thinking about it. Will they play the first album in entirety? Will I actually get to hear “I Love You (Miss Robot)” live??? Will Geoff Downes be playing??? I last had the privilege of seeing Geoff Downes playing live on the 2006 tour of the Asia original lineup (John Whetton, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer, and Geoff Downes), which was a mindblowing show in an intimate venue.

I’m in the same boat as you for travel distance to the announced Seal/Buggles shows. The D.C. show is about 3 hours away for me (I miss living in D.C. for all the great concerts).

I just started seeing indoor concerts again as COVID died down, seeing Porcupine Tree and then Metric (both insanely good shows). It was pretty amazing to be there again for live music.

Todd Lewis – I have seen confirmation of Geoff Downes on the link in the post. But only at that website [which I can’t remember] right now. But it only makes sense. This will be a high profile, big budget event; Trevor Horn is the MD! So I’d be shocked if Downes weren’t there.

If Geoff can’t be there, it might be because he is touring with Yes. I hope that his commitments with that band don’t prevent him from touring with Trevor. I’m very excited that the tour is coming here! But has there been any update about the new Buggles album that they started work on a few years ago?

seal tour 2023 band members

If Downes is busy with Yes, that would be a regrettable loss … but maybe Mr. Woolley could step in there …?

(why yes, I am obsessed with seeing Bruce Woolley live … how the devil did you deduce it, Mr. Holmes?)

' src=

It appears there will be no Geoff Downes on this Buggles tour. Geoff is officially listed on the Yes site http://www.yesworld.com as doing the Yes tour May 7 through June 20 in Europe and UK.

RobertB – Welcome to the comments! So I noticed once I checked on the Yesworld website after johnofsunhillow mentioned the Yes tour. I need to edit the post by now. Thanks!

' src=

Sadly, is does not appear that Geoff will be playing with the Buggles due to the conflict with the YES tour.

It will still be a dream to hear Buggles material sung by Trevor

https://www.yesworld.com/live/

David Ponak – I’m sure that the Yes conflict would be the only reason. I’m guessing the Seal tour is going to be top drawer all the way if they can have TCH as MD for the gig! Otherwise I’m certain Downes would have been there.

But, YES still lists their now deceased drummer Alan White as a tour member, so perhaps they are incorrect about Geoff being on the tour 🤔

Maybe Trevor could talk Thomas Dolby into filling in for Geoff?

The YES tour has been canceled, so Geoff is now free. He tweeted a Buggles tease a couple of weeks ago, so I wonder……🤔

David Ponak – That would be SPECTACULAR. If there’s rehearsal time he should go for it!

Just yesterday

Monday memory…😘 pic.twitter.com/XY7mL9q5vk — Geoffrey Downes (@asiageoff) April 3, 2023

David Ponak – Sacré bleu!

I hope you changed your mind regarding the Charlotte show at Ovens Auditorium, it was nothing short of perfection. The Buggles/ Trevor did not disappoint. The sound quality was the best I’ve ever heard at a concert, and I’m not even exaggerating. And I learned The Buggles were so much more than Video Killed The Radio Star. Just an outstanding performance from both Seal and Trevor.

Pete Harrison – Welcome to the comments! Nope, I’m still not ready for indoor shows, and I’d forgotten all about them coming that close until last week when I saw all of the traffic that post was getting now that the tour is underway. It boggles my mind that there was a Buggles concert that close to me but things are different now. We will see outdoor shows. We have a Kishi Bashi show with the orchestra next weekend, and ironically, a June 2020 Kishi Bashi concert was the second musical casualty when the pandemic started. The first was my trip to the UK for the Human 17 “Reproduction/Travelogue” concert. That will always sting.

' src=

This was the setlist for the show I attended (still smiling): https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/buggles/2023/beacon-theatre-new-york-ny-63b92a1b.html I don’t believe Geoff Downes was there; in fact this incarnation of The Buggles = Trevor Horn + Seal and Seal’s backup group

schwenko – I’m pleased that at least one person I “know” [via the internet, but still…] managed to see The almighty Buggles. Though I’m not thrilled at the FGTH/AON/Yes material making this a Trevor Horn show as much as anything. What was the merch like?

Sorry, I can’t comment on what the merchandise was. At the end of the show I did pass by but it was so crowded I couldn’t get close enough to even see what it was. And I was in quite a rush to get home for some rest; I attended 3 concerts in 8 days (and had a ticket for a 4th of which I flaked), 2 of which were in the far flung mass transit unfriendly depths of Brooklyn (though worth it to see Martin Dupont).

Live Review: Seal w/ The Buggles @ The Anthem — 5/10/23

Live Review: Seal w/ The Buggles @ The Anthem — 5/10/23

Seal’s recent concert at The Anthem was a seated performance.

Well, that was perhaps the theory. But everyone in the massive venue was on their feet and rushing the stage when the soul singer appeared for his first song of the evening, “Crazy,” from his debut self-titled album.

Anticipation was high earlier in the evening as people gently filled the concert hall. But their congeniality barely contained a bursting excitement over the opportunity to see the man of the hour — Seal, the extraordinarily talented British chart buster.

For his part, Seal was so laidback yet so in command of the stage at The Anthem on May 10. Women swooned; men crooned; Seal beamed. He was there in this sparkling music venue to celebrate a combined 30th anniversary of his first two studio albums, both named Seal and both released by Trevor Horn’s ZTT Records in 1991 and 1994 respectively. Seal paced through a total of 14 songs at The Anthem, drawing mostly from Seal I and Seal II but also Seal IV, from which he pulled his two encore songs — “Get It Together” and “Love’s Divine.”

Watch the official music video for “Love’s Divine” by Seal on YouTube:

At about halfway through the concert, Seal performed the instantly recognizable “Bring It On” from Seal II. His band sounded amazing, capturing the texture of the soaring soul song perfectly. Of particular note, Trevor Horn himself was a powerhouse presence on bass, positioned at stage right, often directly behind Seal. Trevor also served as musical director for this engaging and uplifting show.

Two songs later, Seal poured his heart into the same album’s “Don’t Cry,” a compassionate tender song that showcased his uniquely comforting tenor. In performance throughout the show, Seal accentuated his vocal power with outstretched arms or a carefully considered hand in the air, and he emoted with the same techniques during the powerful “Don’t Cry.”

Of course, Seal ended his main set on “Kiss from a Rose,” which initially appeared on his Seal II album but gained USA chart power thanks in part to exposure from its inclusion in the soundtrack to Batman Forever. At The Anthem, Seal unspooled the song carefully, introducing it to the audience with a call and response of an opening vocalization.

Seal steeled himself and released his graceful croon, which filled the room with dignified air and reserved romantic yearning. The bustling crowd hushed for the song, full of both longing for and redemption by love. Seal sang it tenderly, part lullaby, part torch song, part rallying cry. At the end of the song, he returned to a call and response, inviting the audience to sing out, “la da da.”

Watch Seal perform an acoustic version of “Kiss from a Rose” for the Jennifer Hudson Show via YouTube:

Dapper and handsome — regal even — Seal was an impressive performer and a gracious host to starstruck concertgoers. The audience left buoyant, happy, and likely a little misty-eyed, but ultimately very pleased to have spent the evening with Seal and his music.

Opening Seal was Trevor Horn, performing with other members of Seal’s band as The Buggles. His fellow band members wore black T-shirts that said “Best Buggles Band Ever,” and they performed six songs that encapsulate the early days of Horn’s career. I never expected to see such a wholly remarkable performance as Trevor signing any songs by The Buggles, so it was an incredibly satisfying experience. The band boogied to an instrumental redefinition of “Two Tribes” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood — a song lifted from the band’s debut album, which Trevor produced for ZTT.

The Buggles famously joined Yes, and Trevor sang “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” which he produced for the Yes album, 90125.

The other four songs in the set were all tunes by The Buggles — three lifted from debut The Age of Plastic and one from Adventures in Modern Recording. And so I was gobsmacked witnessing Trevor and the band perform “Living in the Plastic Age,” “Elstree,” “I am a Camera,” and yes “Video Killed the Radio Star.”

The band really nailed it on all accounts and Trevor was in very fine form as he shared a few brief stories and sang clearly and warmly for the numbers. Again, what an unbelievable opportunity! I can only hope this inspires Trevor to mount a Buggles headlining tour and bring in his friend and collaborator Geoff Downes for a peak ’80s synthpop experience. That’s certainly a show I would get out of my seat for.

Here is Trevor Horn fronting The Buggles at The Anthem on May 10, 2023.
