Tata Motors is not only set to open bookings for the Harrier facelift on October 6, but also for the Safari facelift. The carmaker shared a short teaser clip on social media announcing the date for bookings commencing. The video provides a glimpse at the updated design of Tata’s flagship SUV.

Going by the teaser, the Safari facelift will get a similar front-end to the upcoming Harrier facelift. There, however, is a noticeable difference when seen up close. The key difference looks to be in the shape of the housing for the main headlights with the Safari getting rectangular units compared to the triangular units on the Harrier. Elements such as the black strip connecting the headlight housings and the light bar linking the DRLs are shared between both upcoming Tata SUVs. with only the edge of the lighting element housing the turn signals.

The Safari’s teaser is also clearer than the Harrier's and reveals details such as the new paint finish and the re-designed grille with body-coloured inserts.

While the teaser does not reveal much else, images of test mules have revealed that the updated Safari will get redesigned tail-lights at the rear and also sit on new design alloy wheels.

Images of the test mule’s interior have suggested that the overall design of the dashboard has been retained though Tata could up the ante with the levels of fit and finish and features offered. The images have confirmed that the new Safari will get a full digital instruments display along with a landscape-oriented touchscreen as well as the new design steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo seen on the Nexon.

Coming to the engine line-up, the new Safari is expected to carry forward with the existing 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. The carmaker could also offer buyers the option of a turbo-petrol engine – the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mill that debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo and could also be used in the Harrier.

Expect prices for the Safari facelift to move further upmarket when it is launched in the coming months.

On the equipment front, the flagship SUV comes loaded with a large touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless mobile connectivity, digital instrument cluster with a new interface, ambient lighting, and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. Along with this, it also continues to get features like a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, air purifier, and an ADAS safety suite.

At its heart, the Safari facelift is powered by a BS6 Phase 2-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that is tuned to produce 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. This motor comes paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed torque converter sending power to the front wheels.

Lions have sex on top of safari truck full of people, wild video, roaring sex lions get busy on top of safari truck ... tourists take it all in.

A couple of lions felt the love so much that they started banging on top of a tourist safari truck ... and the people inside certainly got an eyeful and then some.

A group of tourists partaking in a South African safari were recently left stunned as 2 randy big cats made themselves at home atop their vehicle.

The male lion is seen mounting a resting female lion ... confirming their boinking session with a couple of growls. The jeep noticeably shakes from side to side as they do it ... sparking laughter and gasps from the tourists seated below.

The lions' intimacy didn't last too long ... with the lioness lying tired to the side as the king of the jungle eventually disconnected.

While the encounter may have given some tourists the ick on the spot ... it's significantly less scary than the African elephant attack from earlier this month -- which ended in a death.

No one died here ... just a couple of kitties getting laid!

The 2021 Tata Safari has already been revealed, with the carmaker set to launch the SUV and begin accepting bookings for it on February 4 . Tata has been working on the all-new Safari for quite some time now, and we have seen it in various stages of development; the last one being the Tata Gravitas  showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.

With the Safari’s launch imminent, we decided we would put together all the details we have on the new three-row SUV. 

• Tata offers a 170hp, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.
• It uses the Land Rover-derived Omega Arc platform.
• It will be available in six trim levels - XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+

New Tata Safari: exterior design

Let’s start with the design of the new Safari, which does have a few similarities to the smaller Harrier, with which it shares its platform. From the nose of the SUV till its C-pillar, there is little to distinguish between the Harrier and the Safari, save for the new front grille.

Though beyond the C-pillar, the Safari differentiates itself with details such as the longer rear overhang than the Harrier (to accommodate the extra row of seats), the roof rails with chrome inserts carrying the Safari inscription, the stepped roof design (which harks back to the previous generation design), a larger rear-quarter glass (compared to the Harrier), a more upright rear section with a new tailgate and tweaked tail-lights.

New Tata Safari: engine and gearbox options

Powering the second-gen Tata Safari is the same 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo-diesel engine as in the Harrier. It is also in the same state of tune as its smaller sibling as it produces 170hp and 350Nm. Tata offers the engine with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.

Due to the fact that the new Safari uses the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture (which was designed to incorporate a four-wheel-drive system), Tata could develop a 4x4 variant in the future.

New Tata Safari: interiors styling and layout

Coming to the interiors of the Safari, the overall design and layout are largely the same as the Harrier. The biggest change is the three rows of seating. There are  six-seat and seven-seat options   on offer; buyer's could opt for a bench-seat (7-seater) in the middle row or captain seats (6-seater). Another noteworthy change is new black and beige interior colour scheme, which makes the cabin look a touch more premium and upmarket.

New Tata Safari: features and variants

Tata will offer the new Safari in six main trim levels – XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+. At launch, the new Safari will only be available with an automatic gearbox potion in the XM, XZ and XZ+ trims. Besides this, the rest of the features available on the Safari will be very similar to those offered on the Harrier.

The top-spec XZ+ trim will be well-kitted with front, side and curtain airbags, hill-descent control, terrain response modes, an electronic parking brake, 18-inch machined alloy wheels, Xenon HID headlights, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with iRA connected car tech, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, a 7.0-inch digital display in the instrument cluster, a 6-way power adjustable driver's seat, beige leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and much more.

New Tata Safari: competition check

Once launched, the all-new Tata Safari will compete with other 7-seat models in our market, such as the Mahindra XUV500 and  MG Hector Plus . However, this segment will get even more competitive as the year progresses, with the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai’s new  7-seat Creta-based SUV , both set to launch later this year.

The Tata Nexon started FY25 at a rather slow pace if we consider the high standards it has set in terms of volumes, driving out of the list of 10 best-selling cars in India in April.

According to India Today's sources, the Tata Nexon was the 11th largest-selling car in India in April at 11,168 units. This is quite low compared to the average monthly wholesales of 14,308 units garnered by the SUV in FY24.

The Tata Nexon has been the top-selling SUV in India over the past three years, clocking volumes of 171,697 units in FY24, 172,139 units in FY23 and 124,130 units in FY22.

Priced between Rs 8.15 lakh and Rs 15.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tata Nexon rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and the new Mahindra XUV 3XO.

The Tata Nexon uses a Revotron 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which delivers 120PS and 170Nm. It has multiple transmission options, including 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed DCA. There is also a Revotorq 1.5-litre diesel engine, producing 115PS and 260Nm. It can be paired either with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AMT.

The popular SUV also has an electric version, the Tata Nexon.ev , available in Medium Range and Long Range variants. While the Tata Nexon.ev Medium Range has a claimed range of 325km on a single full charge, the same is 465km for the Tata Nexon.ev Long Range. The claimed range is as per MIDC cycle.

The Tata Nexon.ev price starts at Rs 14.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle rivals the Mahindra XUV400 and the MG ZS EV.

Like the Tata Safari and the Tata Harrier, the Tata Nexon is also a five-star safety-rated SUV, scoring high points in both adult safety and child safety at Global NCAP.
