NEW DATES ON-SALE SEPTEMBER 1st*

All other shows on-sale now.

The Who kick off the fall leg of their incredibly successful THE WHO HITS BACK! Tour on October 2, in Toronto, Canada. The much-anticipated live trek thunders across the U.S. through the first week of November, adding two new dates: San Jose, CA on October 24, and Phoenix, AZ on October 30.

Enjoying some of the best reviews of any band currently on the road in 2022, The Who also garnered praise for their poignant and historic show this past May in Cincinnati, OH, their first concert in the city in more than 40 years. The concert proceeds, in excess of $500,000. were donated to the P.E.M. Memorial , the organisation that was founded to honour friends and classmates who lost their lives at the December 3, 1979 concert from Finneytown High School. The donation will go towards college scholarships and will be available to all Cincinnati area high schools through the P.E.M. Memorial fund.

The Who continue to raise the bar with stellar supporting artists joining the THE WHO HITS BACK! fall rollout, announcing that Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs – fronted by lead guitarist/songwriter from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Mike Campbell – will be appearing on most of the dates. Singer/songwriter and founder of Barenaked Ladies, Steven Page is also slated for multiple shows, and British (female-led) rock band The Wild Things will open for The Who on the tour’s final two shows in Las Vegas, November 4 and 5. (Scroll down for dates/details/web links)

The powerhouse band’s upcoming North American fall trek promises to sustain the momentum the band created on the spring leg of the tour. “Daltrey took flight in ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’, roaring and howling and whipping his mic cord through the air like he was lassoing cattle… the show was a potent reminder of the timelessness of Townshend’s songs and The Who’s music.” ~ Dallas Morning News .

Legendary singer Roger Daltrey and trailblazing guitarist/songwriter Pete Townshend continue to harness the kind of integrity-driven firepower that has made Who shows the preeminent gold standard of the pop-culture art form that is rock n’ roll. THE WHO HITS BACK! Tour will again share the stage with some of the finest orchestras in the U.S. and Canada.

THE WHO HITS BACK! Tour will feature THE WHO ’s full live band comprised of guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend , keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall , bassist Jon Button , drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson , lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Q Snyder , passionately delivering THE WHO ’s many classics, as well as songs from their most recent album, WHO .

No buffalo show?

Any Florida shows

I want to suggest that THE WHO release full concert “bootleg” live albums from this year’s tour or from 2019. I’m sure that a lot of fans would want to buy “bootleg” full shows, especially from concerts that they attended (I know that I would like to get live album from their show in Philadelphia,PA in May 2019).Maybe they could be released through nugs.net

' src=

Any plano for Rio?

How do i get the presale code for Phoenix? Goes on sale tomorrow.

Are The Who coming to Britain?

' src=

Loved the Acoustic show at Royal Albert Hall and Rogers Solo Show at Palladium this year. Looking forward to the UK tour in 2023. God bless you lads.

' src=

How come the Who never comes out to Albuquerque, New Mexico? We have a great Amphitheater at Isleta for great shows for Spring Summer and fall shows? I’m sure that I’m not the only Who fan here in the Albuquerque metro area.

' src=

What songs will be performed from what album? Will setlist be same for all of the venues? Ill be going to Sacramento and San Jose! Love you guys so much!

' src=

Pete & Roger pointed to & commented on the empty spots on the hill during their show in Albuquerque in 2000. maybe thatz why they haven’t come back. Lo

' src=

I don’t see Los Lonely Boys listed as special guests for the fall dates. Are they no longer performing as part of this tour?

Cynthia, our special guests change a lot during the tour and Los Lonely Boys only played a few dates with us on the Spring leg of The Who Hits Back! tour.

' src=

UK back home… Shepherds Bush Empire

' src=

New York? Boston?

NYC or Boston?

' src=

A lot of empty seats out there. Sad to see that. I wonder why. Saw you guys in Wembley Stadium in 2019. It was great.

' src=

Pete, who was the other guitarist with you on those Empty Glass Promos?

' src=

I highly encourage you to go see the show I saw them in Cincinnati in May and they were stupendous Pete, Roger and the rest of the ensemble had an explosive chemistry Wonderful moments in the performance that they brought us that evening at TQL I have seen them since ’82 and this was my 10th time and I rank it in the top three shows

' src=

i saw them at MSG in spring, 46 years after seeing them in ’76. they’re still rockin’! rock and roll, the devil’s music! lol.

' src=

The world’s GREATEST rock and roll band. I’ve seen them over 50 times since the 70’s. Saw them in Hollywood Florida in April 1st show on this tour. Saw them in may in Philly. Will see them in Long Island next week. And I’ll see the last 2 shows in Vegas in November. Can’t wait

ABOUT THE WHO

T he Who are one of the top three greatest rock legacies in music history.  Their music provoked explosive change and spanned what many critics declare is rock’s most elastic creative spectrum, with Pete Townshend’s songwriting moving between raw, prosaic, conceptual, and expressively literate.  Their visionary sense of stagecraft headed by Roger Daltrey’s soaring vocal prowess is topped off by the band’s blistering rhythm section.  With both Roger and Pete delivering their memoirs in recent years (Pete’s Who I Am was released to much acclaim in 2012, and Roger’s autobiography, Thanks A Lot Mr. Kibblewhite; My Story , was embraced by critics in 2018) it’s fitting that the two remaining WHO members have shared their incredible legacy in literary fashion, for few bands have had a more lasting impact on the rock era and the reverberating pop culture than The Who.

Emerging in the mid-1960s as a new and incendiary force in rock n’ roll, their brash style and poignant storytelling garnered them one of music’s most passionate followings, with the legendary foursome blazing a searing new template for rock, punk, and everything after.  Inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990, the band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, placing 27 top-forty singles in the United States and United Kingdom and earning 17 Top Ten albums, including the 1969 groundbreaking rock opera Tommy , 1971’s pummeling Live At Leeds , 1973’s Quadrophenia and 1978’s Who Are You .  The Who debuted in 1964 with a trio of anthems “I Can’t Explain,” “The Kids Are Alright” and “My Generation.” Since then they have delivered to the world hits such as “Baba O’Riley,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” “Pinball Wizard,” Who Are You,” and,” You Better You Bet.”

In 2008, they became the first rock band ever to be awarded the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors. The Who has performed all over the world including global music events for the Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show in 2010 and closing the London 2012 Summer Olympics. The Who continued their charity work by playing a concert in January 2011 to raise money for trials of a new cancer treatment called PDT. In December 2012 they performed at the Hurricane Sandy Benefit in New York. In January 2014 they played a set on the U.S. television special to support the charity Stand Up To Cancer. In November 2012 Daltrey, with Townshend at his side, launched Teen Cancer America. The charity is now established in the USA, with offices in Los Angeles and devoted Teen Cancer units being opened in hospitals all over the U.S. TCA’s work has impacted over 5,000 young people and their families nationwide during the last ten years.
