The Killers, who last played New Jersey in 2016, are also scheduled to play in Atlantic City in March.

Previous headliners include Green Day and Stevie Nicks (2022); Pearl Jam and The Smashing Pumpkins (2021); Dave Matthews Band and The Lumineers (2019); and Jack Johnson and Incubus (2018).

Sea Hear Now festival Asbury Park: Foo Fighters, Killers and more bands you must see

4-minute read.

foo fighters killers tour

So many bands, so much sand — and hopefully a lot of sun, too.

The weather forecast looks good for the fifth Sea Hear Now music, art and surf festival on Saturday, Sept. 16, and Sunday, Sept. 17, on the North Beach and Bradley Park in Asbury Park. The Foo Fighters, the Killers, Weezer, the Beach Boys, the Breeders, Living Colour and more are playing.

Sea Hear Now is produced by C3 Presents, the team behind Lollapalooza, and locals Danny Clinch and Tim Donnelly. Clinch is a Toms River native who has photographed the greats of music, from Bruce Springsteen to Tupac Shakur.

The North Beach Rumble surfing contest returns, with captains Cam Richards and Sam Hammer. Surfers Will Skudin, Cassidy McClain, Jamie DeWitt, Rob Kelly and Pat Schmidt are scheduled to participate.

Stoke Henge, located in the sand just off the boardwalk, will return, highlighted by the work of city artist Pork Chop. Pieces by Jersey Shore artist Jay Alders also will be on display, and the Transparent Gallery pop-up returns to Bradley Park.

Green Day and Stevie Nicks headlined last year's Sea Hear Now, which also featured performances by Boy George and Culture Club, My Morning Jacket, Wet Leg, Idles, Billy Strings, Cage the Elephant, Fletcher, and Gary Clark Jr. This year's musical performers are:

Sea Hear Now lineup: Saturday, Sept. 16

The Killers, Greta Van Fleet, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Sheryl Crow, Tash Sultana, Royal Blood, Bob Moses, Cory Wong, Oteil & Friends, Living Colour, Babe Rainbow, Surfer Girl, Snacktime, Quincy Mumford, and Yawn Mower

Sea Hear Now lineup: Sunday, Sept. 17

Foo Fighters, Weezer, Rebelution, Mt. Joy, The Beach Boys, The Breeders, Tegan & Sara, Stephen Sanchez, Joey Valence & Brae, Adam Melchor, Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country, Easy Star All-Stars, Sunflower Bean, Alexander Simone & Whodat?, and Waiting on Mongo.

So many bands raise the question of who to see. Here are seven acts of the 2023 Sea Hear Now that you cannot miss:

Tash Sultana, 6 p.m. Saturday, Park Stage

Tash Sultana's one-person show is arresting, thanks to the musician's voice, guitar, and use of loops and effects pedals. The Australian native, who is non-binary, battled against drug addiction as a teenager and started busking on the streets of Melbourne.

Viral videos, including nearly 50 million views for Sultana's song “Jungle,” has led to shows around the world.

The guitarist’s Asbury Park debut was in 2019, and there’s a new EP, “Sugar,” which includes the singles “James Dean” and “New York.”

The Killers, 9 p.m. Saturday, Surf Stage

When recently asked by Politico, Republican presidential candidates Chris Christie and Nikki Haley said they're fans of the Killers' 2004 hit “ “Mr. Brightside.

Christie, of course, is a fan of Freehold native Bruce Springsteen, who appeared on the 2022 Killers song “Dustland,” and the first Sea Hear Now in 2018 with Social Distortion.

Don't expect a Boss surprise at this year's Sea Hear Now as Springsteen is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease, and has postponed his September shows.

Alexander Simone and Whodat?, 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Park Stage

The greats of Asbury Park music, from Lenny Welch to Bruce Springsteen to Jon Bon Jovi, know how to work a crowd. City singer Alexander Simone knows how to work a crowd, too. After shows with his Whodat? group, fans invariably have a smile on their face and a lift to their step. Simone's sound, like his predecessors from the city, runs the gamut from R&B to rock to soul.

Simone has quite a pedigree, too: He's the grandson of the iconic Nina Simone. That was him on stage with Pearl Jam singing Bruce Springsteen's “My City of Ruins” at the 2021 Sea Hear Now festival.

Quincy Mumford, Yawn Mower, and Waiting on Mongo are also local talent ready to shine on the big Sea How now stage this weekend.

More: Karol G history-making Mañana Será Bonito Tour show enchants at MetLife Stadium

Stephen Sanchez, 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Park Stage

Who's creating the most gorgeous melodies in music today? It's California native Stephen Sanchez, who is making hearts swoon with his lushly retro hit, “Until I Found You.”

Singer Em Beihold performs on a remix version, and both are great. Elton John is a fan — he invited Sanchez onstage at the Glastonbury festival in the U.K. to perform “Until I Found You,” which has been streamed more than 1.5 billion times.

Sanchez's debut album, “Angel Face,” comes out Friday, Sept. 22, on Mercury/Republic Records, days after his Asbury Park debut at Sea Hear Now.

More: Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band at MetLife: 6 magical moments you might have missed

Beach Boys, 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Surf Stage

A note about the legendary Beach Boys and Asbury Park — this is not their city debut. The Beach Boys first played Convention Hall on the boardwalk in 1965 as part of promoter Moe Septee's “Summer of Stars” series at the venue, and in following years, too.

The Beach Boys shows were significant as rock 'n' roll was banned in the city following the 1956 Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers show at the hall, which caused a riot.

Concerts like the Beach Boys shows helped reintroduce rock 'n' roll back into the city's good graces. Nearly 60 years later, Asbury Park is still rocking — and the Beach Boys are, too.

Weezer, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Surf Stage

Weezer sure has come a long way since they headlined the Stone Pony in Asbury Park in December 1994. The band — fronted by Rivers Cuomo — has released 15 albums, hit singles like “Buddy Holly” and “Beverly Hills,” and have become the standard bearers for the modern pop-punk sound.

Cuomo is especially prolific, and there are no signs of him slowing down. A recent single, “What Happens After You” from the EP “SZNZ: Autumn,” shows his ability to write a catchy hook is undiminished.

Foo Fighters, 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Surf Stage

The Foo Fighters have been one of the most compelling stories in rock 'n' roll. In 2022, the band tragically lost their drummer, Taylor Hawkins, hours before a show.

The Foos have soldiered on with Josh Freese now behind the skins. Frontman David Grohl knows the trials of losing band members before their time. He was the drummer for Nirvana, whose frontman Kurt Cobain took his own life at the age of 27 in 1994.

As for their Sea How Now performance, they're no strangers to the Asbury Park beach. The Foo Fighters headlined the Bamboozle fest in practically the same exact spot on the city's North Beach in May 2012. They did double time that day as they also performed on “Saturday Night Live.”

Go : Sea Hear Now, 12:45 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, and 12:15 to 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 1300 Ocean Ave, Asbury Park, verified resale tickets start at $195; seahearnowfestival.com.

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and The Killers' Brandon Flowers will headline at the 2023 Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Atlantic City, NJ.

The Garden State is quickly becoming one of the hottest destinations for music festival season.

To kick off this summer, the Adjacent Festival featuring Blink 182 , Paramore and Jimmy Eat World is coming to the Atlantic City Beach on Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28.

Then, from June 15-18, Blake Shelton , Kid Rock , Darius Rucker and the Barefoot Country Music Festival will step into Wildwood, NJ.

However, the granddaddy of them all might be Asbury Park’s annual three-day Sea.Hear.Now Festival on the shore from Sept. 16-17.

2023’s lineup is a doozy too.

Occupying the top spots this year are Brandon Flowers’ Killers on Saturday, Sept. 16 and Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters on Sunday, Sept. 17.

Just below them you’ll find rock favorites The Beach Boys , Weezer , Sheryl Crow , Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and Greta Van Fleet .

Still, there’s so much more.

Sea.Hear.Now also lists Tegan and Sara, The Breeders , Rebelution , Mt. Joy and Tash Sultana on its eclectic but expertly curated bill.

Best of all, passes for the two-day musical extravaganza can be claimed as early as today .

At the time of publication, the cheapest price we could find to get you in both Saturday and Sunday was $316 before fees on Vivid Seats.

For those hoping to attend just Saturday, passes start at $200 before fees .

$209 before fees is the lowest price we found for Sunday passes.

There are also General Admission Plus, VIP General Admission and Platinum General Admission options as well.

All prices are subject to fluctuation.

Want to see and hear Sea.Hear.Now now? Here’s everything you need to know.

Sea.Hear.Now complete 2023 lineup

Rounding out Sea.Hear.Now’s expansive collection of performers are Royal Blood, Bob Moses, Cory Wong, Oteil & Friends and Living Colour on Saturday.

Sunday sees Stephen Sanchez, Joey Valence & Brae, Adam Melchor, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country and Easy Star All-Stars filling out the bill.

Yet, there’s still more.

Sea.Hear.Now is known for bringing in big name surfers to shred some waves for when you need a quick musical time-out.

Just a few of the biggest riptide riders include Cam Richards, Sam Hammer, Will Skudin, Rob Kelly and Cassidy McClain.

The Eddie Vedder -founded Ohana Festival in southern California will again feature the Pearl Jam frontman as one of the top attractions in 2023, as is customary, along with a heavy-hitting selection of rock names in the top slots and an eclectic lineup for the undercard slots. The Killers and Foo Fighters join Vedder as the headliners for the three-day festival, taking place Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Doheny State Beach in Doheny Point.

Haim, the Chicks and the Pretenders are the second-billed acts across the three days. Other marquee attractions in the idyllic beachside setting will include Father John Misty, the War on Drugs, Japanese Breakfast, Goose and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.

The lineup is rounded out by Lucius, the Backseat Lovers, Charley Crockett, Glen Hansard, Lucius, Thee Sacred Souls, Suki Waterhouse, Franc Moody, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Amos Lee, Dehd, Shame, Dhani Harrison, Brooks Nielsen, Lido Pimienta, Danielle Ponder, Trousdale, Talk, Wunderhorse, Big Joanie, the Aquadolls, the Alive and Emma Routhier.

For Haim and their fans, it will be a welcome second chance at being one of the main draws for an Ohana Fest. In 2022, the SoCal band was announced for one of the top slots at what was to be a second weekend at the beach, but that bonus weekend was canceled. The group will hit Ohana the month after being seen in another high-profile slot in the area, opening for Taylor Swift at SoFi Stadium in August.

Almost simultaneous with the announcement that Foo Fighters will headline Ohana Festival came news that the group has booked six additional shows for its summer/fall tour, in Phoenix, El Paso, Salt Lake City, Spokane, Virginia Beach and Stateline, Nevada.

Foo Fighters’ 2024 stadium dates will mark the band’s biggest U.S. headline shows since the June 2 release of But Here We Are , which has landed on the mid-year best of lists of Alternative Press, Consequence, Entertainment Weekly, The Los Angeles Times, Loudwire and Uproxx among others, while generating some of the most positive critical notes in Foo Fighters history, including:

“Tragedy isn’t necessary to produce transcendent music. But here, it did.” — THE ATLANTIC

“★★★★★ Stunning … a standout, and at times stunning, piece of work … quite possibly their best and most meaningful album.” – GOLDMINE

“Explosive, emotional and inspired… a back-to-basics immediacy and intensity… The undercurrent holding all of ‘But Here We Are’ together is not an idea so much as raw emotion. Grohl’s melodies are as soaring and anthemic as they’ve sounded in years; his vocals are freshly impassioned and heartfelt.” — THE NEW YORK TIMES

“A fantastic record full of riffs and reflection… so catchy and vibrant, so brimming with wild-eyed wonder… Grohl clearly understands that we honor departed loved ones by building new joys we wish they were around to share.” – NPR

“Dave Grohl gives himself over to arena-sized grief, reckoning, and resolve on the band’s most propulsive and purposeful music of the last two decades… offering earnest hope, fond reminiscence, and skyscraping choruses” — PITCHFORK

“One of the strongest albums of the band’s career… reckoning with the conundrums of human existence through the sheer power of music” — SPIN

“Memorable and meaningful” — USA TODAY

“Aching directness and wounded sweetness make a potent combination here… But Here We Are pulses with the sense that the future happened too quickly, and we’re all having to navigate situations and handle emotions we thought we’d get to much later in life. These songs chart the push through denial into the acceptance of the reality of death and the lifetime journey of bereavement.” — VULTUR

Support on the various dates will come from Pretenders, The Hives, Mammoth WVH, Amyl and The Sniffers, Alex G and L7. See below for a full list of dates and details.

This year’s edition of Ohana will take place Sept. 29 to Oct. 1. The opening night will be headlined by The Killers, whose guitarist, Dave Keuning, is a San Diego County resident. Vedder will headline the second night, while Foo Fighters will top the bill for the closing day.

This will be the second year in a row that the Ohana lineup does not include Vedder’s band Pearl Jam.

However, it is possible that Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron — a San Diego native — could appear, if the rumors that he is replacing the late Taylor Hawkins in Foo Fighters pan out. Vedder grew up in San Diego’s North County, not far from Dana Point, which is in nearby Orange County.

By coincidence, another San Diego-bred drummer also reportedly in contention to man the Foo’s drum chair is Atom Willard. He is currently a member of the band Against Me! Neither Pearl Jam nor Against Me! have announced any tour dates for 2023.

The first ticket pre-sale for this year’s all-ages festival will begin at 8 a.m. today for members of Pearl Jam’s fan club, the Ten Club. The SMS pre-sale will begin Thursday at 10 a.m. for anyone who signs up for early access at ohanafest.com . Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public Thursday at noon.

Ticket options include single-day general admission ($169), single-day VIP ($549), weekend general admission ($469), weekend VIP ($1,499) and “ultimate” VIP packages ($9,950).

A portion of the proceeds from Ohana will benefit the Doheny State Beach Foundation and the San Onofre Parks Foundation. This year’s other beneficiaries include the Surfrider Foundation’s South Orange County yhapter, WSL PURE, Unidos South Orange County, Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust, the Rob Machado Foundation, Everytown Gun Control, Music Preserves, Sea Legacy, and others.

Ohana will also feature an area called The Cove. It is designed to showcase the power of music and activism with panel discussions from leading conservationists, environmentalists, researchers, and professional surfers.

In addition, The Cove will house an art gallery, curated by Charles R. Adler, that features works inspired by music, surfing, skating and activism. More information on the Storytellers Stage programming will be announced prior to the festival.

Foo Fighters is a five-person alternative rock band fathered by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, established in Seattle, Washington in 1994.

Members Dave Grohl, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, and Taylor Hawkins have been bringing their brand of hard rock to the world since the release of their debut album Foo Fighters in 1995. A long list of EPs, studio albums, and world tours later, the band is still picking up fans from all across the globe.

The start of Foo Fighters was not, as many bands are, a meeting of minds — rather, it was the blossoming of a single mind. Lead singer and guitarist Dave Grohl had famously joined Nirvana in 1990 as a drummer, but frequently took his guitar along on tours to write songs. Too shy to share them with bandmates Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, he instead recorded his own material in private. In 1992 he released an album of demos called Pocketwatch.

When Cobain passed away in 1994, Grohl faced a crossroads: He could accept the numerous offers to play drums for acts like Pearl Jam and Tom Petty, or he could go his own route. He chose the latter, saying: “I would rather do what no one expected me to do.”

In October 1994, Grohl entered Robert Lang Studios in Shoreline, WA and recorded 15 of his original songs. Astoundingly, Grohl sang every vocal and played every single instrument on the album with the exception of a single guitar part on “X-Static”, which the Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli contributed. The whole process took five days. Grohl released the album as Foo Fighters, a name he later said is the “stupidest f***ing band name in the world.” Though he hoped to remain anonymous, record labels quickly developed interest in the project.

Capitol Records eventually signed the album. When it came time to form a band, Grohl pulled in drummer William Goldsmith and bassist Nate Mendel, both of whom had recently departed from the band Sunny Day Real Estate. Pat Smear came on board as a second guitarist.

The Foo Fighters’ debut gig was February 23, 1995 at Arcata’s Jambalaya Club. Grohl at first refused to play large venues or to conduct interviews, but caved after the album’s release in July 1995. Things took off from there with successful single releases and months of international touring.

The Foo Fighters toured through early 1996 before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. Grohl wrote all the songs and got assistance from his band in arranging the parts. Grohl later found he was unsatisfied with the drumming, so he scrapped the drum tracks and re-recorded them himself, which caused Goldsmith to quit the band.

The Foo Fighters needed a drummer, and quickly. He contacted Taylor Hawkins, who had drummed for Alanis Morisette, for a recommendation. Hawkins had one ready: himself. The band released The Colour and the Shape in May 1997 with Hawkins debuting. It followed up with a year of heavy touring culminating in the Reading Festival and Glastonbury Festival.

The Foo Fighters’ alternative rock sound has been cultivated from the band’s love of various genres and other artists. The band is as much influenced by Dave Grohl’s former band-mate Kurt Cobain’s minimalist rock aesthetic as it is by the decadence of Queen and the melodic purity of bands like The Beatles.

Many of Foo Fighters’ hit songs, such as “Everlong” and “The Pretender”, have distinctive melodic cores which balance out the harder edge of the band’s thrashing rock sound. Gentle verses lead into powerful, shredding choruses, which encapsulate the songs' emotion.

The Foo Fighters have received a staggering 25 Grammy nominations over the past 18 years, and have managed to take home 11 awards, including four for Best Rock Album. The band has won accolades from all over the globe, with to albums such as 2011’s Wasting Light debuting at number one in 12 countries.

Sadly, long-time drummer Taylor Hawkins died on March 25, 2022, the day the band was supposed to perform at the Estéreo Picnic Festival. The band instead turned the stage into a candlelit vigil for their departed band member and friend. On September 3, it played a tribute concert to Hawkins at Wembley Stadium in London, UK and at Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The Foo Fighters continue to play to sold-out crowds all over the world, managing to pack out small venues and huge arenas alike. In 2008 the band played two sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium in London, England, each night rocking the audience 86,000 people. With more material on the way, the Foo Fighters’ hard-earned success and popularity are not set to diminish any time soon.

Live reviews

So I very recently reviewed an epic night with the Foo Fighters in DC for the 4th of July. Everything came together perfectly for the Foo's 20th Anniversary Show. Dave Grohl and company played the hits, as well as their debut album almost in its entirely. You can read the full review here.

But somehow, that show wasn't the Foo concert I was most excited for this year. No...that would be their huge Boston gig at the Beloved Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. (I'm a huge Sox fan) I had purchased presale tix to this back in November, and it was a long 8 months waiting for the highly anticipated weekend.

When it finally arrived, Boston was ready for it. Prior to the show, I walked over to a 'pop up shop' selling Foo Fighters memorabilia, only to realize their was a 20 minute wait to get into the store. The Fenway show was sold out with approximately 35,000 people in attendance. And this was just night 1 of 2 in Boston.

Following opening sets by Boston favorites Mission of Burma, and Mighty Mighty Bosstones, the Foo's came on right at 8pm. As was similar to the DC show, the first half was completely based on Foo Fighters greatest hits. The first 90 minutes was single after single spanning the entire Foo catalogue.

Best moment came in the middle of the set when Grohl crutched down to the end of stage and received some acoustic help from his guitarists. As they did in DC, Foo's chose to perform two of the best songs acoustically with 'My Hero' and 'Times Like These.' The volume at which the Fenway crowd sang 'My Hero' was a true highlight of the night, and may have been the best song.

Lead singer Dave Grohl definitely took some time to talk to the Fenway crowd. He explained how this was the Foo's first stadium tour, and how that was a long time coming. He listed past venues played in Boston, and what the city means to him. He also told a great story of losing his High School Battle of the Bands competition and jokingly asked what the band that won was doing tonight. This was prior to covering Queen's 'Under Pressure.' Overall, Grohl was in a chatty and pleasant mood.

With the injury still bothering Grohl, the guys skipped leaving stage for the encore and played straight through until about 10:45 (just shy of a 3 hour show, and passing the 10:30 curfew). The final closer was 'Best of You,' giving the Fenway crowd one more chance to sign along with the rock band.

The only negative I would say is that since the first half of the show was so focused on the hits, the second half seemed a bit lacking. With the exception of 'Best of You,' they had nothing left to play in the last hour that could generate the same reaction and sing a long as the first 90 minutes. Maybe they could have just spaced out the most popular tunes more.

But really it was an awesome set and even more of an epic night because of the venue. Fenway is the ballpark I grew up seeing Sox games at, so it was definitely a pretty special experience to come back and see one of my favorite bands play there. I won't be forgetting this one and look to see it towards the top of the 'Best Shows of 2015' list.

Have seen Dave Grohl solo, singing with his kids at the Fox Theater in Oakland for a UCSF "Notes and Words" benefit for very ill children. Amazing solo performance and moving to see him playing for his daughter Violet as she sang an Adele song. Tickets for show in San Jose in 2018 which was OK, but large arena (home of San Jose Sharks) and Cal Jam 2018. Cal Jam was very special as Dave, Pat, and Krist reunited to play a six song set of Nirvana songs, with John McCauley fronting for three songs and Joan Jett for three more. Only second reunion: first at Nirvana hall of fame induction; but this was the first at a concert open to us regular people. Made my spine tingle as much as if I could have attended a Beatles reunion. Dave was a monster on the drums, Pat killed it on the guitar, and Kris put forth his unique manner of playing bass. No bad locations at that venue. Pit, fixed seating, and lawn behind, so oldsters like me could sit during some of the warm up bands. Most recently saw the Foos at the Intersect Festival in Las Vegas this month. Less passion in this performance and while my favorite member of the Foos is Pat, he appeared intoxicated, totally spacing out at one point and cut off by Dave during his short solo for introductions. Wish he would skip the bottle of champagne on the stage. Did not like the Vegas venue, as in a very large tent with heavy smoking, excessive drinking, people holding up large signs blocking the view of many behind, and a nasty fistfight right in front of me with a drunk obnoxious guy getting the s**t kicked out of him by about 8 guys. Guess Dave did not see, as he is not tolerant of violence at this concerts. This was center stage about 10 people back, right in front of him. Had another very drunk woman come up and start grinding on me, looking as if she would vomit at any moment. Thankfully she left holding her mouth. I was not excited about the project of trying to find my way from front, center covered in her vomit. Vegas is a city of excess, and everything at this Amazon sponsored event seemed excessive. There were more bars than food stands. I was sick for a week from all of the smoke exposure. Hope they return to Cal Jam, keep indoor venues non-smoking, and definitely avoid the tent gigs.

Amazing, astonishing every other adjectives you can think off to describe something awesome.

Only a band like the Foo Fighters can make up a surprise concert 3 days before and sell out in the first hour that the tickets go on sale.

Dave Grohl, is a master of music and there is no doubt about it! His presence on the stage is unbelievable. Sure knows how to throw a party.

Me and maybe everybody just went with the idea of a Foo Fighters concert but we got so much more than that. Dave brought some of his friends to play along on his bash and boy where they great.

Guests like: Paul Stanley, Jakc Black and Kyle Gass (Tenacious D), Slash, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Perry Farrel, Lemmy Kilmister and others, like a surprise guess named Trombone Shorty and you guessed it, he jammed along the band with a TROMBONE! Was amazing, something new and even Dave said he didn't know how they could top that.

Dave was the best host EVER, he didn't rest for three and a half hours, the whole concert, he was kicking, screaming, shredding, running... NON STOP.

Words can barely describe the experience of a Foo Fighters concert. I've seen them again and again because to me, their shows are the epitome of a true Rock and Roll experience.

From the moment I walk into the stadium, I can feel the buzz and energy of the crowd as the anticipation of the beginning of the show is growing. And once the lights dim and the first chord of the first song (usually "Times Like These" or "All My Life") is played, the audience erupts and the show has begun. The Foos always put on such a loud and energetic performance, pulling the crowd into the show and causing a bit of a frenzy! They usually have an amazing light show that is timed to go amazingly with the music and it's that kind of detail that really pulls you into their performance – you might have to check if there's going to be strobe lighting before you go.

Dave Grohl is very fun and friendly with the crowd, taking the time to make jokes and have fun with those lucky enough to be on the front row (it's pretty hard to get that close though). If you go see them, you'll absolutely get your money's worth: the many times that I have seen the Foo Fighters they have always played a long set, close to 2 hours, which is awesome, as they have such a large catalog of music you're dying to hear. So by the end of the show, I always feel that I was able to hear all of my favorite songs!

By the time the show ends and I'm leaving the stadium, I'm completely exhausted, thrilled, pumped up and really happy about the experience. I generally don't have much of a voice left, from shouting and singing along – but even then, I'm already finding myself getting excited for the next time I get to see them play live!!! And then I hit the parking lot and there's the same energy among everyone leaving – it's a great shared feeling, but it's so clear that everyone had an amazing time!!

ONE OF THE GREATEST SHOWS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! The Foo Fighters has’t played a concert in Florida in 12 years and they had finally came. They played everything from their debut album all the way to their newest album Concrete and Gold. “All my Life”, “Run”, “The Pretender”, “This is a Call”, “Breakout”,and “Everlong” are some examples of what they played! Every song they played sounded crisp and clean. I prefer them live now over prerecorded stuff. Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Taylor Hawkins, and the rest of the gang were great at hyping up the crowd. Having simple conversation with the crowd and simply making everyone feel right at home. They also out preformed themselves playing cover songs like “Blitzkrieg Bop” by the Ramones, Van Halen’s “Jump”, Alice Cooper’s “Under my Wheels”, and “Under Pressure” by Queen. The Foo’s had a spectacular set list and made it feel more than just a Foo Fighters concert. The band had little surprises here and there throughout the show like Taylor Hawkins with a crazy drum solo that lasted for about 5 minutes! The opening act, The Struts, were also very great and played their hearts out. If you never been to a concert or never seen the Foo Fighters live, then you need to make sure you get out of your way to see these guys! They’re aboslute killers on stage! You won’t regret it! FYI if it’s an amphitheater venue it’s 10 times much better the crowd is way more fun and you can let loose and dance your ass off!

Never seen Food before so was looking forward to Night 2. Arriving in Milton Keynes at 5pm I was hopeful of catching some of Royal Blood's set. However traffjc flow inbound was terrible and I lost 90 mins waiting on a dual carriageway in Milton Keynes on route to pre-booked parking at Stadium MK. When I finally parked the car there was a 20 min hike to the National Bowl. Sadly didn't see Royal Blood and missing the start of Iggy Pop - only hearing The Passenger & Lust for Life whilst on the inbound road

Iggy Pop was good giving older Stooges song like No Fun, 1969 and Nightclubbing as well as solo hits like Real Wild Child. He still has it in spades

Foos and Dave Grohl took to the stage a little early but the appreciative crowd were complaining. Dave was seated for the duration on a techno-throne looking like a dalek Davros-like base with Foos logo and a ton of flashing lights. His broken leg did not impact him in the slightest. He told stories that kept the crowd engaged.

The other members of the band were very tight musically and showed this in solos throughout the night. Taylor Hawkins (the drummer) in particular shone - playing & singing Queen's We Will Rock You

The "Set" was a run through of the Foo Fighters best of. The sound and light show was amazing. Now a Foos fan I would definitely see them again. Thanks

I saw the Foo Fighters at Firefly 2014. The show Dave and the crew put on was easily the best show I have ever seen in my life. You will experience amazing music from every album featuring extended versions of almost every song. If the music isn't enough for you, the rock star atmosphere of the Foo Fighters will be. Chris Shiflett broke his ankle before the show and played in a chair with as much style as Nate Mendel and Pat Smear. If you know anything about Taylor Hawkins, you know he can rock the hell out of a drum set... he can also sing and did a great job at it too.

If you're lucky enough, you might see the Foo Fighters transform into a bar band called 'The Holy Shits' that does covers of classic rock songs. For their 5 song encore (yup... 5) they played 'Schools Out' by Alice Cooper, 'Miss You' by The Rolling Stones, 'Aint Talkin Bout Love' by Van Halen, and 'Under Pressure' by Queen and Bowie followed by an amazing rendition of Everlong. If you appreciate rock music, or any music at all for that matter - go see the Foo Fighters. They're worth every penny and then some and you will remember it for the rest of your life.

Love love love seeing the Foo Fighters. Avidly follow news to get tickets each time they come. So happy I got GA Standing this time as with such a big venue seating would have been wasted. However even though I was standing & got within 3 meters proximity of Dave Grohl, the venue (Etihad Stadium) is just too big. With the roof closed (due to weather) the sound quality was ok, but not exceptionally loud. Next time I want to see them return to smaller venues with multiple dates. The podium stage did allow for many fans to get much closer than normal for some parts of the show & the screens were fantastic. As usual the Foos gave an awesome performance & best of all this time they did do material from every one of their 8 albums. I just wish the'd played more from the latest as thats probably the only time we'd hear those ones live. A shame that although they played "Outside", Joe Walsh was otherwise engaged less than an hours drive away. But of course Dave did a superb job of the guitar solo. They are true entertainers & I can't wait until they release more material & come back to these shores again.

What a-effing-mazing Foo Fighters Rock Show show at the Forum that was last night (9/21). The band was fantastic, Dave is a lunatic, TH is not human, and Pat and the boys were spot on and totally entertaining. Hits flowed one after the other in a fountain of awesomeness. The crowd was thoroughly committed - I've never heard a crowd sing every last lyric, every ohhh and ahhhh. It didnt hurt that we were on the floor at the rails - best "seats" I've ever had to a show. While it was a cool concept to bring Stevie Nicks onstage with Haim (who are these girls, and why were they up there), it was a mash-up that failed to work for me. Stevie looked frail, and her stumbling gait down the runway (did she hurt her leg or were her boots too heavy) was just painful to watch. At least it was only 2 songs (i'd rather more Jack Black). I love that Foo doesn't encore - they play till the cops kick them offstage - and you leave. My ears are STILL ringing, and I can't get the refrain "Something from Nothing" out of my head and the smile off my face... Thank you Foo Fighters and the Forum for a GREAT show.

Not as good as their 2011 visit, but still an awesome gig by any other standard. The end of tour set, plus Dave's round the world trip for his daughter's dance, & the subsequent food poisoning clearly took a toil on his voice. Taylor's voice was also hardly there when he tried to sing. Still, they soldiered on like the true rock stars that they are, and rocked the stadium. Set design was a clear improvement, with the wide layout instead of the long & narrow, which meant that the seated tickets up the back line had a better view instead of the "shitty seats" from last time, especially with the raised sound desk blocking most of the view from their previous visit. The rising middle stage was a very welcome surprise, especially from the middle of the standing area. Not a big fan of all ages family crowds in the free standing area, with no concept of regular mosh etiquette. Might get seated tickets next time. Not a huge fan of their new material either, but am glad they kept them to the barest minimum. Also looks like Dave has settled on his signature guitar, & it looks & sounds absolutely amazing!
