Pakistan cricket schedule in 2024: Full list of PAK Tests, ODIs and T20I fixtures in 2024

Pakistan are set to play ten Tests, nine ODIs and 25 T20Is across 2024, excluding the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup which is scheduled to take place from June 4 and June 30, 2024.

Pakistan cricket in 2024: Full international schedule for the men’s team

Australia v pakistan (away), december 2023 – january 2024.

The third and final match of Pakistan’s Test tour of Australia is scheduled between January 3 and 7.

New Zealand v Pakistan (away)

January 2024.

Five T20Is begin on January 12, right after their Test tour to Australia.

Pakistan v New Zealand (home)

A five-match T20I series against New Zealand yet again in their backyard after the conclusion of the PSL.

Ireland v Pakistan (away)

A two-match T20I  series in Ireland. In the history of the shortest format, both sides have faced each other only once in the 2009 T20I World Cup.

England v Pakistan (away)

Four T20Is against England to conclude their T20I World Cup preparation. In their 2021 tour to England, they lost the T20I series 2-1.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Pakistan will be looking to go one better than their 2022 T20 World Cup campaign and clinch the silverware for the first time since 2009. The USA and the West Indies are the joint hosts of the upcoming edition.

Pakistan v Bangladesh (home)

August 2024.

Two Test matches at home against Bangladesh. The first time they will be hosting the nation since their 2019/20 tour.

Pakistan v England (home)

October 2024.

Pakistan will host England for a three-match Test series. In 2022, they were trounced 0-3 by the visitors.

November 2024

Three ODIs and three T20Is against Australia in the latter’s den following their 2023/24 red-ball tour.

Zimbabwe v Pakistan (away)

November 2024 – december 2024.

Zimbabwe will host Pakistan for three ODI and three T20Is at the fag end of 2024. The rivalry between the two nations has been intense in recent years . Zimbabwe beat the visitors by a run in a 2022 T20I World Cup game before Pakistan’s late surge to reach the final played a role in their ouster from the subsequent edition .

South Africa v Pakistan (away)

December 2024 – january 2025.

Two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in their 2024/25 away tour to South Africa will wrap up their cricketing calendar.

Pakistan T20 squad: Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali back for England and Ireland tour

Babar Azam to lead 18-man squad which also includes injured wicketkeepers Azam Khan and Mohammad Rizwan.

Pakistan have recalled formerly out-of-favour injured fast bowler Haris Rauf and medium-pacer Hasan Ali for their Twenty20 series against Ireland and England later this month, their final warm-ups for the T20 World Cup, but have not announced their squad for the 20-team tournament in June.

Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, Azam Khan and Muhammad Irfan Khan, who all suffered injuries last month against New Zealand, were also included in an 18-man squad named on Thursday.

Pakistan’s selectors have not yet named their final 15-man squad for June’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the United States and West Indies.

“We are having fitness issues with a few players but we hope that during the England tour, we will be able to finalise the World Cup squad,” selector Wahab Riaz told a news conference in Lahore.

All 20 World Cup teams had to submit preliminary 15-player squads to the International Cricket Council by the May 1 deadline, but they can make changes until May 25.

Rauf, wicketkeeper-batters Mohammad Rizwan and Azam Khan and middle-order batter Irfan Khan all are recovering from injuries and were included in the 18-member squad.

Rauf, 30,  has been out of competitive cricket since dislocating his shoulder in February during the Pakistan Super League but has been bowling at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, where he is undergoing rehabilitation.

Azam missed out on the because of a calf muscle injury he sustained on the eve of the first T20 at Rawalpindi. Rizwan and Irfan both were ruled out of the last two T20s against the Black Caps because of hamstring injuries they sustained during the third game.

“Rauf has started bowling and by the time we will be playing England he will be match fit,” said Riaz.

“As a back-up, we have included Hasan Ali in the squad.” Hasan has not played a Twenty20 international for Pakistan since September 2022.

Ali has taken 60 wickets in 50 T20s but has not played in the format for Pakistan since the Asia Cup in September 2022. He has been playing for Warwickshire in the English County Championship Division One and came under consideration after taking 14 wickets in the Pakistan Super League while representing Karachi Kings.

Usman Khan gets another chance after switching allegiance

The selectors have given another chance to top-order batter Usman Khan, who shifted his allegiance to Pakistan, his country of birth, resulting in a five-year ban from representing the Emirates Cricket Board. Usman scored only 59 runs in four matches against New Zealand with the top score of 31, and struggled to make an impact in the drawn series.

Spinning all-rounder Agha Salman, who has played Tests and one-day internationals, is in line for his T20 debut after being included.

Agha was recalled as an option in a spin department that also features Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Imad Wasim and Iftikhar Ahmed.

Leg-spinner Usama Mir and fast bowler Zaman Khan, who both featured in the series against the Black Caps, were cut.

“We understand Usama and Zaman will be disappointed,” Riaz said.

“They are quality cricketers and have long careers ahead of them. They need to continue to focus on their cricket so that they are available if required.”

Pakistan play Ireland in Dublin on May 10, 12 and 14.

Four matches follow against England at Headingley in Leeds on May 22, Edgbaston in Birmingham (May 25), Sophia Gardens in Cardiff (May 28) and the Oval in London (May 30).

England’s cricket team in Pakistan

Pakistan are fiercely formidable opponents but England’s cricket team can take huge confidence from their victory in the December 2022 test series. On that occasion Harry Brook’s ton and a half was the pick of a quartet of centuries as England amassed a first innings 657 in the Rawalpindi run-fest. Ben Stokes’ decision to declare early then allowed England to bowl out Pakistan as the light faded, setting the scene for a stellar series.

Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam will no doubt be keen to gain revenge for the test series and also the loss to England in the 2022 T20 World Cup final. Among the top-ranked batters in test match, Azam is steeped in Pakistan’s cricketing history having once been a ballboy at the Gaddafi stadium.

J ohannesburg [ South Africa ], May 3 (ANI): Cricket South Africa ( CSA ) on Friday announced the schedule for the 2024/25 international home season and will host Sri Lanka and Pakistan men's teams later in the year.

"Cricket South Africa ( CSA ) has today revealed an exciting schedule for the 2024/25 international home season," a statement said.

South Africa men's team will take on Sri Lanka in two Tests and Pakistan in an all-format tour.

The Proteas Men will then take on Sri Lanka in the first Test at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban from November 27 to 1 December, before Dafabet St George's Park in Gqeberha hosts the second Test from December 5 to 9.

Fans will get the opportunity to see the Proteas men's white-ball outfit in December when Aiden Markram 's T20I side square off against Pakistan in a three-match T20I series. As many ODIs will follow this in Paarl, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Temba Bavuma will then lead the ODI group in three ODIs from December 17 to 22, with the fan favourite Pink Day marked for December 22 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

The series will enter its final phase with the Boxing Day Test in Centurion, wrapping up the home summer with the New Year's Test at Newlands.

"As we eagerly anticipate the 2024/25 home international season, it once again holds the promise of exhilarating encounters," CSA CEO, Pholetsi Moseki , expressed excitement over an exciting summer of cricket, according to the statement.

"As we open our doors to esteemed cricketing nations like Sri Lanka , Pakistan , and England, we not only showcase the talent and competitiveness of South Africa n cricket but also celebrate the global appeal and camaraderie inherent in our beloved sport. These fixtures serve as a platform to not just compete, but to foster bonds between nations, uniting players and fans alike in the shared love for cricket," he concluded. (ANI)

England Men's 2024 home international summer will start with a four-game IT20 series against Pakistan, with Jos Buttler's world champions looking to get the summer off with a bang against the side they beat in the 2023 World Cup Final.

Ben Stokes' Test side then take centre stage with three Tests against West Indies in July and three more against Sri Lanka in August and September. 

That's before Buttler's white-ball teams return in September as England Men host Australia for three IT20s and five ODIs, culminating at Bristol on 29 September 2024.
