  • Theresa Langston ★★★★★ a week ago Our tour to Northern Ireland and the Giant Cliffs were amazing! Our tour guides Krishna and Barbara were so informative and friendly people. Barbara gave us a lot of Irish history and folklore. The Titanic museum in Belfast was so well done and sad too. The Giant Cliffs are amazing! The views are so beautiful. The countryside throughout Ireland is so green. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting … More Ireland they were amazing tour guides. Thank you so much!
  • Alexandra McDonald ★★★★★ a month ago What a fantastic and professional tour company! This Wild Rover tour from Dublin to the Cliffs was the perfect choice for my 7 year old and me. We were visiting Dublin for a long weekend and the Cliffs had been a bucket list item, and not stressing about driving was my main reason for booking. I reserved on their website directly (a fair price!) and went to the meeting point that day at 7am. They have … More large, comfortable coaches with their logo. The Cliffs are magnificent and a must-see! The driver Garry and our guide Rory were so professional and entertaining. Rory pointed out landmarks as we drove, gave us a comprehensive history of Ireland, and had such a lovely personality all day! We made a rest stop on the route there and back (no WC on the bus). We returned back at 7:30pm and it was such a great (albeit long) day. Furthermore, Rory came through the cabin as we were arriving back in Dublin to answer any personal questions we had about the area, and took a few minutes to recommend local restaurants, pubs, and experiences that we would find useful. Absolutely recommend!!
  • Rosemary ★★★★★ 2 weeks ago During our stay in Dublin we took two of Wild Rover's Tours. They were both extremely organized and the guides and drivers were all amazing. I can't say enough good things about these tours. They maximize the trip so you get the most out of your time. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. Both of our bus drivers were extremely safe drivers. The buses were clean, comfortable and … More had USB plugs easily accessible. Before we booked the tours we sent a few inquiry emails which were answered very promptly. Everything was amazing from start to finish. A bit about our Tours - The Cliffs of Moher, Atlantic Edge Ocean Walk & Galway (Rory was our tour guide & Brian was our Bus Driver) - This was SOOOOOOOO well worth it. The Cliffs were superb and you have 2 hours to explore them. The Atlantic Edge Ocean had amazing views and the countryside we drove through was picturesque. In Galway we walked to Merchant Row and had a lovely lunch at the Kings Head (this was one of the recommendations Rory gave us and it did not disappoint.) Rory was funny, charming and balanced our tour time with history, funny antidotes and was so helpful at every opportunity. Brian was a great driver and I felt completely safe in his care. Our second tour was - Giants Causeway & Belfast City Day (Barbara was our guide & John was our bus driver) - What a lovely day. If your a GoT fan, you will get to see several locations used in the show. You will have a choice to go to the Titanic Museum or the Black Cab Tours (I highly recommend the Taxi tours). The locations were amazing, the scenery was lovely and we had more than enough time at each of the locations. Barbara was fun and played a lot of music which certainly got us into the mood at each place we went to. She answered a lot of questions and John even spoke Gaelic for us! He was a great and safe driver.
  • Bob Carey ★★★★ ☆ a month ago Our tour guide Barbara was great. She was very entertaining and informative. The Giants Causeway was beautiful and breathtaking. My only disappointment was the Black Cab tour. Our driver was not aware of our passengers, at one point we had to get back in the cab to go no more than 150 feet…. He presented the time of the Troubles from his perspective as a youth growing up. Otherwise, I highly recommend … More Wild River.
  • laura taylor ★★★★★ a week ago Truly the best and most enjoyable experience on our trip to Dublin. Liam and JP were exceptional in their knowledge of the regions visited and making everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. I wouldn't hesitate in booking another Wild Rover tour in Ireland again! Stop scrolling and simply book it!
  • Marine MALINGUE ★★★★★ 2 weeks ago Really nice experience I truly recommend it! Peter, our driver offered us a safe trip and Ian our guide was very nice and friendly, I particularly appreciated Glendalough and the sheperd demonstration which was a very good surprise! You can buy something to eat during your stop at Kilkenny and there are many opportunities to go to wasrooms during the excursion, everything is perfectly organise and … More you really have enough time at each place you visit! It definitely worth the price!
  • Brenda Burrows ★★★★★ 3 weeks ago We went on the Giant’s Causeway and Titanic museum tour and can thoroughly recommend it. Great driver (Krishnan) and excellent tour guide (Una). Good mix of Irish history, folk lore and culture served up with humour and practical tips. Beautiful coastal scenery.
  • Sara Mouyass ★★★★★ 4 weeks ago Absolutely informative and lovely tour to the Cliffs of Moher! Both our driver and guide were really nice people, and respectful of our morning tiredness! Our guide, Yvonne, gave absolutely useful and historical info as well as fun stories/facts when that was needed. I'd recommend Wild Rover anytime if you'd like to spend an amazing journey across Ireland! 😊 Thank you!
  • Helen Lim ★★★★★ 3 weeks ago Thank you very much to Dave and Marko for a fantastic Dramatic Day Tour to North Ireland (from Dublin) to Titanic Experience at Belfast, Dulunce Castle and Giant's Causeway which allowed me to tick off my bucket list. Although this is a long day trip, it is worth every minute for around 2 hours at the UNESCO World heritage Giants Causeway which is an ancient creation around 60 million years ago, … More created by volcanic fissure eruptions which layered the surrounding area with 40,000 interlocking basaltic columns. It is mind boggling and magical to be able to scramble over and explore such a natural phenomenon. Do tread carefully as the basalt columns are uneven and slippery. We took the Red trail which overlooks the polygonal column formations, and midway turn left to some stone stairs which lead you down to the hexagonal shaped basaltic columns by the coast. This route is around 40 minutes one way. Then you can walk back up 15 mins by the easier Blue trail. You can opt to pay EUR1.20 or GBP1 to take the shuttle bus back up, which runs every 20 minutes. Go early to the Tour meet up venue before 6:45am as they let early birds queue up for their seats (except for 1st 2 rows reserved for elderly and pregnant guests). The lovely scenic atrim coast ride is spectacularly scenic. Dave is a humorous guide who explained about the sites, and joked, and kindly helped to take a few pictures, for us. The historical 500 years old Dunluce Castle remnants (set against a steep cliffside of the North Atlantic ocean) also make for gorgeous photographs. The Titanic Experience is a 2 hour interactive and immersive time, in a modern and expensive building. Marko is a safe and efficient driver. Highly recommended great Day Tour, to make new friends from other countries. We were blessed with mostly sunny / a tad cloudy but no rain weather. Kindly tip your guide and driver generously please. Helen

- TripAdvisor Giants Causeway Our trip to Giants Causeway was great. Desmond was the best tour guide ever. Make sure to do the black taxi tour in Belfast.
- TripAdvisor Bailey for president! Also, Giants Causeway trip is a must! I recently visited Dublin and did the Paddywagon Day Tour to Giant's Causeway. The scenery was breathtaking and the places we visited were truly exquisite. The tour itself strategically planned to gain the best possible experience from just 1 day of adventuring. This tour covers a lot of ground. That means a lot of time on a tour bus/coach. We saw a lot of Ireland but not a lot of any one place. There are pros/cons to that. How to take a belfast day trip from dublin (2024).

Belfast day trip from Dublin

It’s time to switch up the scene from Dublin and dive into a fresh landscape without straying too far from Ireland’s shores. While Dublin offers its own unique charm, the island of Ireland is a mosaic of cultures and histories. That’s why I recommend heading north to go on a Belfast day trip from Dublin, where, fun fact, you’ll suddenly be in a new country even though you’re on the same island!

Belfast is the vibrant capital of Northern Ireland and was one of the cities I visited on my first trip to Ireland way back in 2015 on my honeymoon. While it doesn’t get as much love as Dublin, it’s definitely worth a visit, even if just for one day. From driving along the Antrim Coast to exploring a part of the United Kingdom (as Northern Ireland is officially in the U.K.), you’ll love taking a day trip from Dublin to Belfast.

Wondering if Belfast should make the cut in your travel plans? The city is closer to Dublin than you’d think, making it a great day trip option when you want to get out of Dublin. This guide will show you the different ways to visit Belfast from Dublin, so you can choose which one is right for you. I’ll also list some of the best places to visit in Belfast, so taking your trip is easy, and you can just focus on exploring!

How to Get to Belfast From Dublin: The Best Dublin to Belfast Day Trip Options

Heading from Dublin to Belfast isn’t just a geographical shift – it’s a transition between two dynamic worlds. As you contemplate this adventure, you’ll find a range of travel methods, each offering its own distinct flavor. Whether it’s the allure of rolling landscapes seen from a train window, the efficiency of a budget bus ride, or the luxury of a private tour, I’ll help you find the perfect transportation method.

Let’s look at some of the best Dublin to Belfast tours to get you started on your trip.

Flying into Dublin? Here are all the best ways to get from Dublin Airport to the city center .

Train Tours: The Scenic Route

For those who love beautiful views and comfort, train tours offer a perfect blend of both worlds. I always take the train when I’m in Europe if time allows because so rarely do I ever need to take a train in the States, and it’s always so relaxing.

Imagine gazing out of the window as you glide through the stunning Irish countryside, with green fields and cute little villages passing by. The direct train from Dublin to Belfast, also known as the Belfast train, takes just over 2 hours , making it a laidback, efficient way to travel between the two cities.

With stops at Connolly and Heuston stations in Dublin and Lanyon Place in Belfast, you’ll have easy access to the heart of both cities. To ensure a smooth journey, it’s a good idea to book your Belfast train tickets ahead of time so you can sit where you want on your Belfast day trip from Dublin, plus you’ll get the best ticket price on your journey.

Buy your Dublin to Belfast train tickets in advance to get the day and time you want.

Bus Tours: Budget-Friendly Exploration

Bus excursions are a fantastic option for individuals on a tighter budget who don’t want to miss out on any Dublin to Belfast tours. My husband studied abroad in Ireland and loved taking the bus all around the country, as it made traveling much more affordable for him at that time.

Taking a bus between Dublin and Belfast may take a little longer than taking the train, but you get to meet interesting people and hear their tales along the way (or you can always just plug those headphones in if that’s more your style).

Compared to train or private trips, the cost of Dublin to Belfast bus tours are more reasonable, and the guided experience, along with the opportunity to see the beautiful Irish countryside, are all added bonuses. If you want to see the sights of Northern Ireland but don’t want to spend too much money, a bus trip could be the way to go.

Here are some of the top-rated Dublin to Belfast day tours:

  • This day tour takes you to Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Belfast , and more.
  • You can also go on this Giants Causeway and Belfast City bus tour .
  • You’ll love seeing the Titanic Experience along with Belfast city sights.

If you prefer taking the public bus and doing a self-guided tour, you can look up bus times in advance and buy tickets online .

Private Tours: Customized Experiences

Private excursions are perfect for those who want their Dublin to Belfast day trip to be as unique and adaptable as they are. You may make your trip as unique as you are by choosing to see the sights that most interest you and stopping anywhere you like along the way.

You can take private tours in the form of:

Walking tours

Bus excursions

Helicopter rides

Food and wine tours

Cultural experiences

Do your homework on the tour company, check reviews, and ask questions to make sure you get the most out of your Belfast day tour from Dublin private trip. Therefore, plan ahead to guarantee your spot and save money on your tailor-made excursion.

Here are some of the most popular private tours in Belfast:

  • You’ll love going in a private black taxi around the city to see the best sights.
  • History lovers will enjoy this private historical tour of Belfast .
  • I always love doing tours like a local to get an insider’s perspective.

You’ll love going on a 6 day trip to Ireland .

Rent a Car: Unlimited Freedom

Of course, you can always just take the Belfast to Dublin drive into your own hands, and rent a car for the day. I’ve done this multiple times (and the last time, I was in Ireland by myself, pregnant, and stuck in Belfast rush hour traffic, so trust me – if I can do it, you can do it!) and driving a rental car is much easier than you think.

In fact, I wrote a whole guide after that last trip to help others know how to drive in Ireland as a tourist .

Make sure to book your car rental in advance! I love using Discover Cars when I travel.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Giant’s Causeway attests to the grandeur and majesty of Mother Nature. This natural marvel, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption, is a sight to behold, with its roughly 40,000 interconnecting basalt columns.

A visit to the Giants Causeway will capture you with its beautiful scenery and intriguing legends, such as the one about the Irish giant who built the causeway so he could cross to Scotland.

Do one of the climbs that leads to a vantage point over the Giant’s Causeway so you can take in its full splendor. If you have time, I highly recommend visiting the adjacent Carrick-a-Rede Bridge , which was one of my favorite stops in Northern Ireland.

The Giant’s Causeway is a breathtaking natural wonder that boasts an intriguing history and otherworldly scenery and is one of the most popular day trips around Belfast .

Book your ticket from Giant’s Causeway from Belfast in advance.

Dunluce Castle

Dunlunce Castle Ireland

Perched dramatically on the edge of a cliff overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean, the 500-year-old ruins of Dunluce Castle offer a fascinating glimpse into the past. With a history steeped in violence, intrigue, and rebellion, this medieval castle has captured the imagination of visitors and has even served as a filming location for Game of Thrones .

Anyone interested in diving deeper into the castle’s fascinating past can do so by purchasing a ticket to visit Dunluce Castle, which gives them 45 minutes to tour the castle grounds and take in the gorgeous scenery. The ruins of the castle will take you back in time, and you may imagine the lives of those who once lived in this imposing structure.

I almost didn’t stop here on my last Belfast day trip from Dublin, but I had some extra time in my schedule during my 10-day Ireland trip and was glad I chose this.

Antrim Coast

antrim coast

The Antrim Coast is a hidden gem in Northern Ireland, boasting stunning cliffs, sandy beaches, and quaint towns. Traveling down the shore, you’ll love the beautiful panoramas of both land and sea.

Gobbins Path and Visitor Centre

The original path at The Gobbins was opened in 1902, and immediately captivated visitors. The path was part of the vision of Berkeley Deane Wise, Chief Engineer of the Belfast and Northern Counties Railway Company, to use the recently expanded railway line to attract visitors to this spectacular part of Ireland. With the arrival of the steam train in the 19th century it became possible to move large amounts of people and goods in relatively short times. Not only did the railways turn cities like Belfast into industrial powerhouses, they opened up remote beauty spots to a new kind of industry - tourism.

The Gobbins path was Berkeley Deane Wise's final contribution to the tourism offering of the area. It was also his crowning glory.

On occasion, we also pick up a few more passengers from Belfast on our way to the Causeway Coast.

Visiting the Dark Hedges (around 20 minutes)

Planted 350 years ago, this lane of beech trees is an incredible site to behold, making it an amateur photographer’s dream location. The Dark Hedges were made famous more recently as they featured in Game of Thrones and they captured the attention and imagination of GoT fans from all over the world. If this part of the tour interests you, check out our Game of Thrones from Dublin tour . Stopping at the Dark Hedges is also a great opportunity to stretch your legs and walk, taking pictures that will be the envy all your friends back home. If you get lucky, you might even get a picture of the Grey Lady: a legendary ghost that haunts the hedges… (We think the Grey Lady is, in fact, tending to the Dark Hedges, and this might explain why they are more than a hundred years older than breech trees’ usual lifespan).

Dunluce Castle (Bonus 5-min photo stop for summer)

The most beautiful castle ruin in Northern Ireland and definitely worth the 5-minute photo stop. The reason this castle is a ruin is because the kitchen fell into the ocean and the owners didn’t feel safe staying. On our tour you will have the opportunity to see for yourself why this was even possible while taking a photo that makes even the worst photographer a good one.

giants causeway

The Giant’s Causeway Tour (around 1.5 hours)

The Giant’s Causeway was formed in the aftermath of a volcanic eruption around 50 to 60 million years ago, leaving 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. However, beyond the geological story, there is an alternative story: a myth that the Giants Causeway was built by the Irish Giant, Finn McCool. There a few variations on the legend and we tend to put as much stock in legends as in geology…

The uniqueness of the Giant’s Causeway is what led to it becoming a UNESCO world heritage site. It is the “8th wonder of the world”, you cannot afford to miss the Giant’s Causeway on your visit to Ireland.

belfast

After visiting the spectacular Giant’s Causeway, we will return to Belfast on the Old Coastal road. Enjoying fantastic views of the Irish Sea and ALL the Glens of Antrim. On a clear day you can see all the way to Scotland and the Isle of Man. This is a truly magnificent road to drive with some of the best views in the world. The road was voted one of the top 5 roads to drive anywhere in the world.

Exploring Belfast (Around 1 hour)

Belfast city centre is a compact treasure trove of history and culture, so 60 minutes is enough time to get a good feel for one of the greatest cities in Europe (in our opinion). You will have more than enough time to explore the important and impressive sites in Belfast’s city centre, learning about the legacy of ‘The Troubles’. Take pictures of the impressive City Hall, walk down the main shopping streets, and maybe get some food. Remember that Northern Ireland is part of the UK, so the currency is Pounds Sterling (£).

1930/ 2030 Return to Dublin

*Please note that all times are approximate. The locations might be visited in a different order, depends on traffic and weather.

**As people don’t want to spend that much time in the cold countryside, when it starts getting cold, we might give a little bit less time at the Giant’s Causeway and add the time onto the Belfast stop.

Marvin B 2 days ago Trip to Belfast and Giants Causeway was fantastic. We would recommend it to everybody who is longer than 1 or 1,5 days in Ireland/Dublin. If it is your lucky day, you will meet Patrick and he will be you tour guide. I have been tour guide in Spain, Italy and Bulgaria, too. But patrick was special: so empathic, full of information and with nice humour. Without Patrick, it would have been a nice trip, too. But with Patrick it was the best trip we could imagine.

Ivana K 3 days ago Well organized. Our guide Sean was well prepared giving us lot of useful and interesting info but not intrusive. Or children (11 and 7 y) had a great fun. We sticked to itinerary all day, but had enough time to enjoy the place we’ve visited. During the ride we enjoyed in beautiful sceneries and great Irish music. Warm recommendation.

Lily B 1 week ago Derek and Yuri were absolutely fabulous – beyond the beautiful sights, they made the trip absolutely well worth it. So knowledgeable about the history and the city of Dublin itself – he was kind enough to provide a full page of listed recommendations for the passengers.

ErinElaine12 1 week ago My friends and I were in Ireland for a couple days. We utilized McCools Finn Tour and our driver was Turi and tour guide was Derek Allen. Other than the trip being amazing, the driver and tour guide were hands down wonderful people who genuinely made our day fun and educational. They treated us like family and we had many laughs along the long journey. Make sure to tip these two at the end of the day! They are the best!

Delicia 1 week ago Dan and Gabor were fantastic . Gabor as the driver navigating some windy roads but at comfortable pace and on time. Dan as the tour guide even snuck in a few extra stops for quick pictures as a bonus. Lots of info about Irish history and music too. But if you wanted some quiet to sleep dan provided ear plugs- these little details really matter for comfort. Also unlike other tours the bus did have a bathroom! That was clean and easy to access : a big plus on a 12 hr journey. Highlight was the giants causeway : could have spent 2-3 hours there. All in all highly recommend

CaitlinGourley 2 weeks ago Wasn’t expecting too much but our tour guide Daniel really made the trip worth it! He had lots of facts and interesting stories to tell us. He ran a tight bus and ensured our trip was very efficient. His in bus entertainment really spoke to his customer service skills. Can’t say enough. Our driver Yuri was one of the better tour bus drivers and our ride was very smooth and safe!! The sights we stopped at were all beautiful in their own way but it was really the staff that made this tour worth it.

Mollory 2 weeks ago If you are lucky enough to get Danny and Marco as your guide and driver, this will be the best spent money and the time of your life. Danny kept us entertained with a curated Irish playlist with songs and trivia to match each place. Marco made turns on that bus that none of us could do in a small sedan. Danny’s passion for science and geology shone through as he taught us about hexagons in nature on our way to the Giants Causeway. The Danny and Marco duo would be riesen enough to take this tour, but if that’s not convincing enough for you then the scenery and beautiful backdrop will be. I cannot recommend this tour or our guides enough.

When asked if fans can expect any covers on the tour, Cheryl responded: "Do you know what? I've said that! I've said it several times, people like it!"

Nadine isn't too keen, though.

"I was dead against it," she said. "I'm like, we've got so many songs of Girls Aloud as our own, why do we need to?"

Speaking a lot of sense, Nicola suggested some of the group's deep cuts: "Would you not prefer us to do Girl Overboard or Miss You Bow Wow?"

"And Graffiti My Soul!", chips in Nadine.

"Guys, I think we should do [it] all!", Cheryl joked.

Speaking to Grazia recently, the girls further teased the setlist. "[I'm looking forward to] some of the album tracks that we haven't performed in a long time," said Nicola. "Yes, they actually are exciting," chipped in Cheryl.

We'd very much be here for a Taylor Swift The Eras Tour -esque three-hour show please, girls.

"Nothing that anyone's going to miss, we're very confident about that decision," joked Kimberley.

On the spectacle of the show, Nicola teased: "This is our biggest set yet, and it is very special. There's a really super special area called the Gift Wrapped Kitty Kat area, where the fans are sort of inside the show almost because of how the stage is set. And it's super special."

Cheryl added: "It's the first time we’ve done anything like that actually so it will be nice because we can really, whoever's in the Gift Wrapped Kitty Kat zone it’s phenomenal, we can really communicate with them, like, close."

What to wear

This is an outdoor event and as well all know, Ireland has its fair share of rain and cool wind, so keep an eye on the weather forecast prior to concert and dress accordingly.

Met Eireann has forecast a mostly dry day for Dublin on Sunday with sunny spells and temperatures of up to 21 degrees. However, you might still want to bring a raincoat just in case as there's just a chance of one or two showers this afternoon and evening.

Hopefully it stays dry for the concert!

Bruce Springsteen wraps up Irish tour with another tribute to Shane MacGowan

Lots of big-name celebrities were among the 80,000 concertgoers who saw bruce springsteen pay tribute to shane macgowan in dublin's croke park..

May 19, 2024: Bruce Springsteen plays to a sold-out crowd in Croke Park, Dublin.

Bruce Springsteen concluded the Irish leg of his world tour on Sunday night, May 20 with a rousing, sold-out gig in Dublin's Croke Park.

Springsteen, who has roots in Co Kildare , played a touching nod to his late friend Shane MacGowan at the end of Sunday's concert with a rendition of "Rainy Night in Soho" by The Pogues.

The performance won the approval of MacGowan's widow Victoria Mary Clarke who called it "so beautiful."

Springsteen also performed the "Rainy Night in Soho" tribute to MacGowan last week during his concert at Nowlan Park in Co Kilkenny.

It was so beautiful ❤️  @ShaneMacGowan  would be so delighted  @springsteen  is incredible and such a kind and warm hearted man ❤️  https://t.co/fzTSEhpkM3 — @victoriamary (@Victoriamary)  May 19, 2024

Sunday's concert rounded off Springsteen's four-stop tour on the island of Ireland after stops in Cork, Kilkenny, and Belfast.

The 74-year-old New Jersey rocker performed a full range of classics on Sunday, delighting fans with performances of "Dancing in the Dark" and "Born in the USA" among many others during the three-hour performance.

"Ready or Not" also made its tour debut on Sunday.

Among the 80,000 concertgoers to see Springsteen's rockin' set were plenty of big-name celebrities, including Bono, Brad Pitt, Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, and Benicio del Toro.

Keith Duffy, former member of the Irish boyband Boyzone, shared a photograph of him alongside Pitt at Sunday night's concert, describing the performance as "unforgettable."

"The Boss still knows how to rock a stadium!" Duffy wrote on Instagram.

Pitt was spotted at Sunday night's concert after reportedly accompanying Bono to the show. The U2 frontman, who made a cameo appearance at a Springsteen concert in Croke Park in 2016, inducted the Boss into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.

While Springsteen's three-hour concert in Dublin night wowed fans, the gig was not without criticism. Plenty of people took to social media to express their frustration with the queues to enter Croke Park on Sunday evening.

Concert promoter Peter Aiken apologized on Monday, telling the Irish Times: “The doors opened at 4 pm and almost immediately there were around 10,000 people in the venue but by 6 pm there were still only around 25,000 of the 82,000 there.

"I was looking at my phone and on social media and wondering where everyone was."

He continued: “It was simply a case that the scanners couldn’t pick up the tickets as fast as they normally do.

“It was bad, there’s no two ways about it. It was bad, and by the time Bruce Springsteen came on stage around 70,000 tickets had been scanned with the remainder finished within 20 minutes of the start of the show.

“It wasn’t good enough. There were people from all over the country coming to see him and while everyone was in within the first 20 minutes nobody would want to miss any of it.”

The Irish Examiner reported on Monday: "It is understood that all involved in staging the concert will attend a debriefing over the next 24-48 hours to identify the issues which contributed to the queueing issues."

Nadine Coyle swept in to help bandmate Cheryl at short notice at a recent stop on the Girls Aloud reunion tour.

One of Britain’s biggest-selling girl bands kicked off their first shows in more than a decade last week , dedicating their performances to late member Sarah Harding, who died of breast cancer in 2021 .

During a show in Belfast, the group performed their 2008 Number One single “The Promise”, which includes a special tribute to Harding with video footage of her projected in the background.

However, on Monday night’s performance (20 May), the song had a last-minute change of plan when Cheryl, 40, had to call on Coyle, 38, to sing her solo line in her place.

Footage captured by fans at the SSE Arena shows the “Fight for This Love” singer grabbing Coyle’s elbow ahead of the line, before saying something to her away from the mic.

Visibly surprised at her groupmate’s unexpected action, Coyle raised her eyebrows and nodded at Cheryl, before saying a questioning remark to her off-mic.

Coyle then sang Cheryl’s line in the song’s bridge, accidentally substituting the word “convince” for “forgive”: “If you wanna forgive me, start again / If you wanna be with me in my arms.”

It is unclear what caused Cheryl to be unable to sing her line.

In response to the video of the sweet moment, Girls Aloud fans have praised the singers for their quick-thinking, particularly Coyle for ensuring the song continued almost without a hitch.

“This is amazing! The brief panic in her eyes when she agrees to sing Cheryl’s line and then realises she actually doesn’t know it,” one wrote. “She did get it slightly wrong, but she still nailed it. Icon!”

Others were moved by seeing how the bandmates were working well together, after feud rumours.

Cheryl surprises Nadine Coyle on tour with on-stage request

“This is so precious. It’s wonderful to see them having one another’s backs again,” one X user wrote.

Another suggested that Harding’s death brought Cheryl and Coyle closer, as well as with fellow bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts.

“If there is any silver lining that can come from losing Sarah, it’s that Girls Aloud are friends again,” the fan wrote. “Grief is a powerful thing, genuinely emotional seeing these two care about each other again.”

On the opening night of their reunion tour at Dublin’s 3Arena on Friday night (17 May), the remaining members began their show with a special moment for Harding.

Nadine Coyle, Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh stood on individual podiums singing the opening track “Untouchable” as a montage of photographs of Harding were projected onto the screen behind them.

Speaking to The Independent ahead of the tour’s launch , Cheryl shared her hopes for the performances.

“We want people to be transported back to the time through our music. We want people to sing their hearts out and dance their socks off,” she said.

“It’s the right time to celebrate Sarah, the right time to celebrate the band, and the right time to celebrate the fact we can still do this over 20 years later. That’s a big honour.”
