Great local place! Friendly staff! The owner Jeff is especially nice! They have karaoke and live bands on weekends. Prices are very reasonable!

I have been here a few times, never on my own accord. It's pretty average aesthetically, there's a stage and a decent bar. Local bands play here quite a bit, which is great if you only like nu-metal. I'd say this is the best trait of the bar. Other than that. I've had only rude experiences with the bar tenders, and the owners. They're unfriendly, sarcastic, and down right rude to a point where I've questioned their mental stability. (Particularly, what I assume is their sound guy, Boo. He's simply creepy, and doesn't respond to simple questions, just stares.) The drinks are over priced. (4$ for a Pabst? Are you kidding me?) The bar is very clicky,and they rudely usher out all paying patrons at the end of the night so they can party in the back pool room with their friends. All in all, an annoying bar. You'd be better off going to the strip club across the street or heading downtown to PI or Glass Hat.

Ok so here is my problem with Yelp and the people that review. I am in Wausau for work and every review that I have seen on Yelp has been completely wrong. I avoided the Kruse in because of the review. I actually had a chance to stop there tonight and again I found the review to be wrong. The staff not only made me feel welcome they made me feel at home! Nate and there was a new girl that I did not get her name but we had a great time and they at no time entered a back room to "party" without me. So my point is take these reviews with a grain of salt and try a place even if it has a bad review. I would have no problem telling anybody about the Kruse in.

The Inn at the River is situated on a private 20 Acre parcel on the Eau Claire River just 10 minutes from downtown Wausau and 5 minutes from Weston.
