MakeMyTrip unveils trip guarantee to upgrade to alternate travel mode

MakeMyTrip (MMT) has introduced a gamut of new features within its trains segment to offer more choices, flexibility and convenience to customers when booking a train journey on the platform. The feature Trip Guarantee has been designed to help passengers discover and book last-minute alternate travel and financing options in case the train ticket remains unconfirmed before chart preparation, during these uncertain times.

The feature allows customers to upgrade their unconfirmed train ticket to opt for a fresh booking through flight, cab, bus or an alternate train journey for a future date.

With Trip Guarantee, the company aims at easing financial woes associated with paying for an expensive last-minute flight or other ticket. The OTA will generate a travel voucher of a higher value that customers can redeem to book a flight or another travel mode on the company’s platform within seven days since the original date of travel.

Parikshit Choudhary, chief business officer in ground transport in MakeMyTrip, said: “Customers currently seek travel options that provide an assurance of a successful journey amid the evolving travel guidelines during the pandemic. Trip Guarantee is one such step towards protecting our customers against uncertainties associated with waitlisted train bookings. The biggest differentiator of this new feature is the 3X refund that promises to secure our customers against any hike in fares as they rebook their journey through an alternate mode of transportation including flights, cabs etc. Overall, our new product offerings are aimed at providing a complete peace of mind to our train customers.”

The OTA has also rolled out a few other offerings to provide more flexibility in booking and travel choices to train bookers. One of these new offerings includes Cluster Search option that allows a customer to search and explore more train options, in case the preferred trains are running full, from stations within 60kms of range from the original boarding point.

Irctc uts (unreserved ticketing system).

They trapped me

They trapped me. I took ticket from Calicut to muscat to Abudhabi. Connection flight. When I was reached in airport the airline said u should need oman visa, otherwise u can’t travel. Actually I was going to Abudhabi. So why they made connection flight deferent air line..? They given me from Calicut to muscat air India and muscat to abudhabi etihad. The charge I was paid one time.So if I can’t travel without oman visa why they given me the ticket..? Actually they scamming, because they mentioned there u should need oman visa. If someone not read that. They will get money from passengers. Usually no body taking visa when people going connection flight. So they cheating people.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam, they put their own numbers on flight booking even when you have given them your own number, thus the airline not allowing you to board. 5hey don't attend to your complains nor assist you in anyway. I don't recommend them to anyone.

Bad service and useless

I booked 2 hotels (1 in China and 1 in Bangkok) for my business trip. the reason I used them is for the benefit of the cash back I will earn, otherwise I would have booked directly from the hotels. Unfortunately, the cash back they offered me is useless. I can’t use them in my next booking ???? strange, I earned around 490 points, and I can use only 10 points in each booking and not all, and I must use all points within very short period otherwise I will lose them all. I already lost all of them as all points expired before I complete my existing trip. The worst part is the call center, I called them and informed them I will cancel my booking with you and the reply was : OK, cancel it. Take it or leave it. They are bad.

Sham/Scam of guarantees and promises

This company is a sham when it comes to various guarantees or promises it advertises. I had booked a cab under there "Best Price Guarantee" where they would provide you a coupon/rebate of 5 times the difference amount if you found the price cheaper elsewhere. I did found it cheaper on another website and provided MMT with all details and proof multiple times. Every time there system would send an automated email that someone would update my case in 72 business hours. It's been 4 months and it's still the same response every time. You can't follow up the case through their app because the journey is completed. This is a scam/sham company I guess with no morals or customer service when it comes to refunds or guarantees. Stay away from this cheater management

Fraud and Chor Company Makemytrip

I wish there was a minus ratings possible for this fraud company. Guys, never use Makemytrip. It is a chor fraud business. It does not believe in honouring it's commitments to its customers. I had booked a room under the MMT Value Stay wherein they offered full money back if the rooms aren't clean. Inspire of sharing the photos of the third class rooms, Makemytrip refuses to honour it's commitment of refunding the full booking amount.

I tried to book a ticket today with MakeMyTrip after I sae the advertised price on Skyscanner. I clicked through and the price increased slightly. I said, okay I can pay that. Then, I fill in all my information and the price increased again!! Then, I try to check out and they add a "convenience fee"... What the !!! Do you think that customers are stupid?! I'm going to boycott you to all of my fellow travellers!

Horrible System

They didn't even refund me the taxes from my cancelled flight. They may say cheap tickets but they have a lot of hidden policies and agendas to take money from the customer. Please do better MMT.

Singapore trip refund

Had booked my Singapore tickets using Make my trip. vistara airlines PNR number- VZPRDV. But due to a medical emergency had to cancel the trip. We called the airlines and cancelled the tickets directly after submitting the medical report from the hospital. Vistara canceled the tickets promptly and asked us to get in touch with make my trip to get the refund. I have been chasing make my trip since that day and all they keep on telling me is Vistara has not refunded them which I do not believe is the case. Inspite of going through a medical emergency in the family, make my trip is really increasing my trouble. Stay away from such companies who spend millions on advertisements but fail to deliver. Their customer service Representative Sayan is the worst to deal with.

- We were referred from the SkyScanner portal, however we cancelled our booking from the UK to Morocco through their website because: 1) They ask too many questions on their booking forms, which no airline would ask. 2) Sudan is not on their nationality list (why are you asking then?) 3) The unsubscribe option in your email newsletters does not work.

On April 30th my flight was EK 2112…

On April 30th my flight was EK 2112 which is emirates flight but they put me in Fly Dubai flight and that was very poor service, it happened to me first time because I booked my flight though MakeMyTrip first time in last 12 years experience.

Very worst team ever

Very worst team ever, no proper customer support no idea about services what they having. 1 email reply for all the queries no more responds after it. I lost money for family tickets during dubai flood issue time. Very disappointed, am looking for zero star unfortunately it was not der. I thought its only my issue, after seeing the review i realized its fraud team.

really poor the company cones people - never use, they sold me train ticket with trip guarantee and the ticket did not got confirm so i went in Make my trip to buy flight ticket which i had to pay the double as it was travelling last minute and could not use the insurance they given for the train ticket. complete scam they now refusing the refund that 3000 RS. for such a small amount they are playing tricks stay away their are lot of better option to book tickets use those

Worst company worst customer support actually there is no customer support itself such a horrible experience , I booked bus from Mumbai and that bus doesn’t even exist and there is operator number also and we can’t call to customer care only we can raise complaint and which will reply after 10 days saying your issue is resolved even though there was no rrsolution

Thieves, Scammers, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Thieves! Do not book with the company, they are scammers. I booked my flight from Bali to Labuan Bajo, as short domestic flight… never received any confirmation email, just a text message. The text had a link in it to go to the app and manage booking. When trying to log into the app, it sends one time passcode… the one time passcode is invalid. Unable to log in. Called customer support, line does not connect. Emailed the address provided in the text message. No reply. As a result I have had to rebook less than 24 hours before my trip and pay quadruple the price! I doubt I will get my money back from these absolute crooks. Book with someone else!!

Very poor customer survice

Very poor customer survice, i will not recommamd to anyone makemy trip, No trasprancy, Mr Kuldeep ( Tour Manager) and Ms. Vidya ( Who has booked our packge) both are was not supportive and good for nathing specially that Mr. Kuldeep he is totally useless and non corporative. Our flught got cancelled two times..no baby has informed and reschedule our flight.Very Disaapointing

Reliable long distance taxi booking app.

I booked 2 long distance taxi rides (300km+) at short notice with MMT through the MMT app after Booking.com screwed up. On both occasions, the cabs were clean with functioning seat belts in front & rear. The drivers were courteous and not wreckless. They arrived well before the allotted pick up time and contacted me directly to confirm pick up details ensuring that we were not left hanging. They stoped for refreshments and toilet stops without having to be asked. The fares were reasonable and I could pay with a UK credit card via the app. The app is user friendly and pricing is transparent. MMT is now my go to app for long distance taxi bookings in India.
