Dress Accordingly: 6 Tips for What to Wear on a School Trip
Deciding what to wear on a school trip can be challenging! You want to be comfortable, but you also want to look good. Here are our recommendations:
What to Wear Tip #1: Check the Weather
This may sound obvious, but many students do not think to do this before a trip. Check the weather forecast for your destination city prior to packing and especially the night before departure. The weather may vary wildly from your home town and may change day-to-day and hour-by-hour. Check the weather, and then pack accordingly! Don’t forget sunscreen, an umbrella, a scarf, gloves, etc. Students end up needlessly miserable by skipping this important step.
What to Wear Tip #2: Dress in Layers
School trips are often touring in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Each time of day can bring its own unique weather and temperature. Bring light layers on the bus – a long sleeve shirt, a light jacket, a raincoat, etc. You’ll be happy that you did when it is cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon.
What to Wear Tip #3: When in Doubt, Choose Long Pants
If you are debating between shorts or pants, choose pants. There is a certain amount of dust and grime that you will accumulate while walking through the city all day. If you think this will bother you, wear pants to feel cleaner for longer.
Additionally, some sites on your itinerary may be more conservative by nature. Pants ensure that you are dressed appropriately.
What to Wear Tip #4: Pack More than One Pair of Shoes
A school trip is not the time to break in a new pair of shoes. You will be walking more often than you think! Wear shoes that are broken-in and make sure that you bring a backup pair. Some shoes seem comfortable until they result in surprising blisters. Your feet will thank you if you alternative shoes between days of touring.
What to Wear Tip #5: Err on the Conservative Side
When in doubt, choose the more conservative clothing. This will ensure that you represent yourself and your school well. Additionally, if sites more conservative in nature are included on your itinerary (think, the United Nations, the U.S. Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery), you will want to dress respectfully.
What to Wear Tip #6: Align with School Dress Code
Does your school have a school trip dress code? Many schools have guidelines in place for what can and cannot be worn during a school trip. Prepare accordingly.
Will the students have school trip t-shirts or sweatshirts? Many schools commemorate the trip with a t-shirt that everyone wears on a particular day. Make sure yours is packed!
Will your student be laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery? Dress code guidelines are in place.

What To Wear To School In Summers? 30 Outfit Ideas for Girls
School Outfits for Girls in Summer . The first day of school calls for many new beginnings. You make new friends, get into a new class with new teachers and so much more. Basically, when it comes to school, every single day is valuable in some way.
One of the things that make school special and so much fun is dressing up every morning. You get to show a piece of yourself with the way you dress. You don’t just style for yourself; you know that people judge you by the sort of clothes you wear. Often times, on just the basis of that, students classify each other as nerds, jocks, mean girls, etc. So, while being yourself you also have to be careful about what you wear. Summer school is no exception. Here are some ideas on how you can dress to school this summer.
How To Dress For School This Summer?
Before we start, here are some guidelines on fashion for school:
- Be yourself and be comfortable. The only way you can beat the heat and look stylish as well is by considering both comfort and style when choosing your attire.
- Try new styles and give a chance to new trends.
- Be true to yourself and never overdo the look. We also recommend that you check out these Cute Sporty Style Outfits for School Every Girl Must Try
- Don’t go for clothes that expose too much otherwise you might be called for a chat by the school’s authorities.
↓ 30 – Skirt
Every season comes with its own styling perks. When in summer, dress as the weather demands. You can obviously not wear thicker clothes or layer one clothing item on another. You have to wear lighter fabrics and colors.
Take inspiration from a look like this that makes the most of bright, fun colors – perfect for summer! You can opt for a bright pink summer dress and top it off with a little cardigan or sweater that shows off some funky patterns or colors. Remember to keep the school’s dress code in mind and opt for a longer dress if necessary.
↓ 29 – Jeans
Whether or not a particular outfit is proper for your school depends on the rules and regulations that the institute has enforced. Many schools deem it unfit to wear necklines too low or short clothes that are too revealing. Either way. style doesn’t require you to be immodest. Go for jeans and tees or midi skirts with button-down shirts if you are looking for a decent attire idea for school.
↓ 28 – Summer Wear for Teenagers
Teens can go for shorts, onesies, pants, dress shirts, tops, frocks, and skirts. The challenging part is knowing which items to pair. In summer, white and blue make a lovely combo. You can also try yellows, pinks or lighter tones of other colors. The only exception to this rule is black. You should try to avoid a full black outfit and should go for either a black top with jeans of another lighter shade or vice versa. Do have a look at these Home Remedies for Glowing Skin for Teenagers.
↓ 27 – What to Wear in Summer Without Showing Legs
If you don’t want to show too much skin you can opt for a pair of jeans or a long skirt. Track pants are a nice choice, too. Check out this semi-casual ensemble that pairs track pants with a muscle tank, a ropey chain necklace, and heels. Boyish and girly at the same time? Yes, please!
↓ 26 – Cute Teen Girl Outfit Idea
Pair your comfy flannel tee with light blue jeans or wear a sky blue top with navy trousers. Want to go for skirts instead? No problem. You can rock a skater skirt or an A-line one with a top. Or you can skip the double clothing items and go for a yellow frock or a chiffon onesie. A white shirt is extremely important for the summer season as you can pair it up with so many outfits. Here are 18 Ways To Wear White Shirts For Girls .
↓ 25 – Back to School
If you are starting a new year at school and aim to take the style up another notch then don’t hesitate. Wear what you love and hold your head high. You can choose to tie your hair up in a bun or high ponytail and breeze through the day or you can let it down. Keep the style laid back like you don’t have a care in the world and rock those casual clothes.
Want something a little dressier? Why not try an off-the-shoulder top with a pleated skirt or ankle-length jeans.

↓ 19 – Tumblr Style Back-to-School Look
Put on a pair of ankle-length jeans with a graphic tee for the adorable yet chill look. If your goal is to look glam instead, ditch the graphic tee for a plain one and play up your accessories. This is a look even Tumblr would be proud of. Tie a flannel shirt around your waist and get yourself some black-rimmed glasses to tie the whole thing together!
↓ 18 – Heels
This one is for the fashionistas! Indulge your love of fashion with a classy, uber-stylish look that showcases your style-savvy. With this look, opt for a white dress that features special detailing, like this royal blue velvet collar. Pair with some knockout heels, round colored sunglasses, and a designer clutch. (Or book bag. Because that’s a tad more practical.) Here are some great Tips to Dress Well in College .
↓ 17 – Sporty Look
You can’t go wrong with this chic and casual look, perfect for summer school or back-to-school attire! Pair your favorite high waisted jeans with a fitted white top and some Adidas sneakers. Accessorize with Aviator sunnies. Go for a bold lip and straight hair to tie it together.
Remember, with casual wear, the magic is in the accessories, makeup, and hair, which help take a basic look to the next level. Fit matters too. A baggy tee or ill-fitting jeans won’t look as chic as a perfectly fitting ensemble that is further complemented by great hair, makeup, and accessories.
↓ 16 – Floral
If you love an ultra-feminine and flattering look, this might be the one for you. With this outfit, the skirt takes center stage. Not only does it fall to a flattering length, but the soft and colorful print makes it extra special. Pair it with a white blouse, and points if it features a special detail like capped ruffled sleeves. Finally, choose a nude or super pale pink heel to tie the look together. ↓ 15 – Lace Top and Palazzo Pants
Following our previous look, this classically gorgeous ensemble is one that is both feminine and ultra-stylish. Make an impact on your first day in school with a fashionista-approved ensemble. Start with a neutral-colored pair of palazzo pants or wide-legged slacks. Tuck in a white lace top and add some nude-colored heels. Some oversized or statement sunglasses seals this look as the most iconic and unforgettable look you’ll rock this summer!
↓ 14 – Business-Casual Look
For the gal who likes to bring a bit of the business into her casual, this is the one for you. This polished look incorporated a navy blue button-down with a darling little skirt, belted at the waist to cinch the figure. Two-toned flats make for the best footwear and are complemented with a gorgeous leather bag – perfect for stashing your schoolbooks in!
↓ 13 – Summer Dress & Converse
You can wear an outfit like this all day long, whether you are in class, studying at the library, or running errands. Simply pair a summer dress with a pair of white Converse and have fun with your accessories. It’s that easy!
↓ 12 – Teen Girl Fashion

↓ 11 – Dress Ideas for School Tour
Mix up a classic grunge look by opting for lighter colors and pairing your jeans and top with some serious platform heels.
↓ 10 – Preppy Style
Preppy is indeed the new black for school. You don’t have to attend a private school to rock a cute uniform-inspired look. Keep it fresh with a well-tailored blouse and checkered skirt. Here are 18 Preppy Hairstyles for Women .
↓ 9 – Outfit for School Last Day
For your last day of school, pull out your best accessory: a mega-watt smile! Oh, and why not rock an outfit you’ve maybe been wanting to wear all summer? This off-the-shoulder top is so chic, especially when worn with high-waisted navy blue shorts and sandals.
↓ 8 – What to Wear for School Interview
This look means business, but it’s also kind of casual and also super stylish. The best of all the fashion worlds? We sure do think so. Pay attention to the color scheme here as well as the fit of your pieces. Some great fitting shorts will go much farther than a baggy pair or a too-tight pair. Similarly, a well-fitting blouse won’t overwhelm a petite figure.
↓ 7 – Go-To Outfit Idea for School
Every girl needs a go-to outfit to get through a rough semester and this look just might be it. All you need to do is throw on a cute summer dress, a jean jacket, and your favorite Converse. And that’s it. That’s the outfit. How easy was that?
↓ 6 – Denim Vest & Skinny Jeans
Another go-to outfit is this one right here. Simply throw on a white tee (fitted is always better than loose!) and top it off with a cute denim vest. Add some olive green skinny jeans and flats and you’ll look like you put a good amount of thought into your look, even though it will take you no time at all to put together!
↓ 5 – Wide-Legged Slacks and Black Top
Love a simple look that is also stylish and alluring? Give this one a try. It’s comfy enough to be pajamas but also looks like you just stepped off a runway. Pretty solid combo, if you ask us.
↓ 4 – Simple and Elegant Fashion
You’ll get compliments everywhere you go with a look like this. We love the fresh summer colors and the great fit of those spectacular jeans. Plus, who wouldn’t kill for a pair of those gold sneakers?!
↓ 3 – Hipster Style Boyfriend Jeans and Crop Top
Now, you may not be able to get away with a crop top for school attire, but you can definitely give this style a whirl! This is how you do baggy jeans by the way. Fit at the waist and with just enough structure to show off your general leg outline. Roll at the cuff for extra style and pizzazz.
↓ 2 – Fun & Fresh
Brighten up any classroom with a funky pair of palazzo pants that bring some fun and fresh vibes!
↓ 1 – Classy All White for Summers
For our last look, give this monochrome option a try. You’ll feel and look light and fresh all summer long.

Yeah! It's time for that school trip and you're excited. But before you get too excited, make sure you pack for that adventure well, or you may end up missing something. Here are some ideas on what to pack.
- It's ideal to pack enough clothes to last the trip. Pack depending on the weather. It's typical to bring an extra pair of pants and an extra shirt.
- If you have one, bring your school shirt or trip shirt. It may not be a shirt, but at least be sure to bring the school required article.
- Appropriate nightwear. You probably won't fall asleep in uncomfortable clothing while on the trip, so try grabbing a pair of sleep shorts, pajama pants (fleece for colder nights), and a t-shirt.
- Sleeping bag - if you'll be camping out in tents.
- Towels for swimming, or for showers. If you're in a hotel, they usually supply towels.
- Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, shampoo, etc). Once again, hotels normally supply things like soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Check to make sure that you're allowed to bring hair straighteners/curlers/hairdryer if you plan on packing yours.
- Comfortable and warm clothing. It's up to you what you pack for this, but grab a sweatshirt just in case.
- Suitable footwear. Don't bring new shoes on the trip, unless you absolutely need to. Always bring a pair of gym shoes/sneakers if you know you'll be walking. Converse or other shoes similar to them are okay, but sometimes don't offer the support in your arches. It's not a good idea to wear heels or wedges. Also, bring a pair of flip-flops if you plan on swimming or using a public shower.
- Don't forget your undergarments. Bring two extra pairs of socks and three extra pairs of underwear/boxers. Girls may want an extra bra, and a sports bra too.
- Swimsuit (recommended trunk style swimsuits for boys and one-piece swimsuits for girls.)
- Shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, etc. Check to make sure that the clothes apply with the trip's dress code. If there is no dress code, some teachers or supervisors might say to pack things that won't embarrass them with your wearing them. Try to stick to your school dress code, or close to it. (This mainly is for girls, don't wear a bandeau only or shorts that just barely cover your butt. Some guys also can wear too short of shorts.)
- Bug repellent - it's a good idea to bring a small bottle of bug spray in you're doing night activities, near water, etc.
- Sunscreen to protect from sunburns. Bring along a pair of sunglasses- a pair that has UV protection, and tinted sunglasses are a better preference. Also, don't forget a baseball/snapback hat to shade your face. Don’t forget a water bottle.
- It can be cold, so pop in an extra pair of pants or sweatpants. If it's really cold, don't forget a hat and gloves!
- Flashlights with spare unused batteries because you might need a flashlight for at night. If you are camping, flashlights that require to be shaken to project the light work well.
- Insulated insoles (to put an additional set in your shoes if you get cold feet), or take a pair out of some old shoes.
- Extra things to suit the weather. Bring a handheld battery-operated fan if it's supposed to be warm. It's always a good idea to bring a windbreaker jacket if it's somewhat windy where you're going. Also, don't forget to bring a foldable umbrella to fit in your bag in case it rains.

Tips from our Readers
- If you're going to a colder place, especially with snow, bring a hand cream (preferably in a tube) and a face moisturizer. These items can keep your skin feeling hydrated, and they can even be shared with friends.
- Always keep essentials in your carry bag for easy access when your suitcase is out of reach.

What To Wear On College Visits | 13 Trendy College Outfit Ideas
Wondering what to wear on college visits? Here are 15 trendy college outfits that are cute and stylish!
While a college tour is not the same as a college interview, you should pick an outfit you feel comfortable in, but that’s also a bit classy.
College tours are the best way to experience what your college life will be like. In most cases, you can dress casually, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t dress appropriately. There are other scenarios like guided college tours, where you’ll have to work a bit more on your outfit.
If you’re not sure about what to wear on college visits, here are 15 trendy outfit ideas that are perfect to wear around campus.
What To Wear On College Visits: 13 Outfit Ideas
1. backless tops.
Recreate this college outfit:
Yes, college outfits can be trendy and appropriate at the same time. Colleges don’t have a dress code like most high schools, so there’s more room to experiment with your outfits and wear what you really want to.
But remember this is just a college visit, so technically you’re not in college yet. You don’t have to be super formal, but still cause a good impression. That’s why I think backless tops are the perfect type of tops.
They cover the right amount of skin but are still trendy and cute.
2. Dresses Over Turtlenecks
Dresses are perfect for any occasion because they’re easy to wear, and you don’t have to think about matching tops and bottoms. You can wear them with boots, sandals, or even sneakers if you want to be comfortable.
If you’re planning to wear a dress but it’s a bit too chilly or you want to spice up your outfit, try wearing a turtleneck underneath. It makes the dress pop up and the whole outfit looks more put together.
3. Denim and Sweatshirts
If you’re going on a college tour, it means you will be walking around campus all day. So if you’re wondering what to wear on a college visit that includes a tour, the answer is something comfortable.
Is there anything more comfortable than denim and a sweatshirt? If it’s still too hot to wear jeans and a long sleeve top, you can switch that for a pair of shorts and a t-shirt you feel comfortable in.
4. Classy and Feminine
If you’re a big fan of blouses and flowy skirts, you already know what to wear on college visits. A nice shirt combined with a cute skirt can be the perfect option if you’re looking for something more girly and feminine.
If you think your outfit looks too put together, you can wear a pair of sneakers to dress it down.
5. A Cute Skirt and Crop Top
Any outfit that includes a skirt and a crop top is stylish and comfortable, that’s why this college outfit idea is perfect for you if you’re looking for something that’s cute without being «too much».
Plus, this outfit changes a lot depending on the type of shoes you wear. If you want a more casual look, sneakers will be perfect. If you want something more formal, you can go for high heel sandals.
6. Corduroy Jackets
Recreate this outfit:
I feel like corduroy jackets are such a classic trend for Fall and Winter that can never go out of style. Out outfits tend to be more basic and neutral-colored during the cold months, so adding a jacket like this is the perfect way to make your look more interesting.
7. Corset Tops
Recreate this look:
Corsets are a HUGE trend right now. I’ve literally seen them everywhere, including college. I love corset tops because they are way more stylish than regular crop tops and instantly dress up any outfit.
You can pair them with high waisted jeans or shorts, or even a skirt.
8. Plaid Knitted Cardigan
The plaid pattern is such a 90s basic, and lately, I’ve seen it on so much clothing. From vests to sweaters to cardigans. It reminds me a lot of the movie Clueless, and maybe that’s why I love it so much, but also because it’s super cute when combined with a dark skirt.
9. Puff Sleeve Shirts
Am I the only one who is obsessed with puffy-sleeved tops? If someone asked me what to wear on college visits right now, I would tell them to get a puff sleeve shirt right away.
They have been super popular in the last year and it seems they’re here to stay. Puffy sleeves make every shirt instantly cuter, so it’s no surprise college girls love them!
10. Plaid Skirts and Docs
Recreate this college look:
Is there a more iconic pair of boots than the Dr. Martens boots? You can literally wear them with anything and they will instantly make your outfit ten times better.
The 90s vibes from this outfit are EVERYTHING. This is a cute outfit that I’d definitely wear at a college visit. I would wear a bra under the top to avoid any uncomfortable boobie-related situation.
11. Satin Scarves
Copy this college look:
A satin hair scarf is the cherry on top to every outfit. Not only satin scarves are the best accessory to dress up your outfit, but they will also keep your hair up and out of your space, which is especially helpful during Summer.
12. Black & White
Copy this college outfit:
This college outfit idea is for the girls who are tired of the same old basic outfits and want to try something different. Cow print pants are super popular, and they also make the best black & white looks.
Trying new trends and outfit options can be the best way to discover new aspects of your personal style you didn’t know existed! And you probably won’t know anyone at the college visit, so why not get more experimental?
13. Neutral Colors
Copy this outfit idea:
If you’re more of a minimalistic type of girl and want to keep things simple, this outfit idea is perfect for you. Keep it clean and simple with a neutral crop top and a pair of classic denim jeans. It’s comfortable and cute, which is perfect for a college visit.
Whatever you decide to wear, what to wear on college visits should always be something you like and feel comfortable in.
Whether it’s more formal or casual, make sure it’s an outfit that makes you feel stylish and boosts your self-confidence. In the end, that’s the best accessory any college student should have!

What to wear on a school excursion (and how to survive them with a smile!)
By Louise Rodgers
As the year draws to a close, there’s a rush on school excursions. Many teachers like to have a special away day with the kids to mark the end of the year, and inevitably the school newsletter is crammed with calls for parents to volunteer to accompany classes on their off campus adventures. If the very idea makes you shake in your Converse, you’re not alone.
For the first couple of years after my eldest child started school, I avoided going on excursions like the plague. I always used my toddler as an excuse not to go, but in reality I was terrified. I get car sick in buses, I’m shy, I don’t like having to discipline other people’s kids, it sounded like hard work, etc. etc… I think you get the idea. Once both of my children were at school, I was back at work and therefore had an even better excuse for not going. Over the last twelve months though, I’ve made a lot of changes in my life. The main change is a reduction in my work commitments to one day a week (my choice – a long story!), so there were no more excuses for not going on excursions. The result: in the last twelve months I’ve been on three, the most delightful of which was a trip to the zoo with seventy five Year 5 boys!
Here are my tips on what to wear, what to take, and how to survive the school excursion.
1. Keep it comfy
Converse, loafers, boots, a sandal with a bit of a wedge – shoes that you’re certain you can walk in for a full day. It may seem obvious but even the most innocent-sounding trip to the Botanic Gardens to see the stick insects ended up leaving my legs aching from walking and standing around waiting for seven year olds to fill in their activity booklets. Shoes with a bit of cushioning can be your saviour on an excursion like this.
2. Wear Pants
I can guarantee you that at some stage during the day, you’ll be required to sit on the ground. This might be to listen to someone talk to the class, to eat lunch, or maybe even to wait for the bus. I guess this could be expanded to say wear pants that are not white or light in colour. If you have to sit on damp grass in a park or someone decides to wipe their sticky hands on your leg, then white pants are not going to last past morning tea.
3. Layer it up
You’ll be outside, you’ll be inside, you’ll be on a bus or train, you’ll be gone all day and the weather might change. I think a singlet then a shirt or tunic then a cardie is a good start. Don’t wear denim or boyfriend jackets that you end up having to carry over your arm all day. Items that can be tied around your waist or carried easily in your bag are great. (I love Metallicus for layering pieces like tights and cardigans).
4. Take a Hat
We all know about the “no hat, no play” rule by now so it only makes sense to lead by example. The teacher will have one and all the kids will too, so you may as well join in!
5. Bag vs Backpack
I have yet to find a stylish backpack, so if anyone knows where I can get one I would appreciate the tip! I prefer to wear an across-the-body bag or satchel instead, for two reasons. Firstly, it won’t slide down your arm every time you have to lean over to listen to a softly spoken little girl ask to use the bathroom. Secondly, I find it saves my back from getting achy after all the aforementioned walking and standing around.

- A travel pack of wipes
- Paracetamol for your inevitable headache
- Antiseptic hand gel (because other people’s kids’ germs are not as endearing as your own)
- A bottle of water
- Lunch and snacks in a brown paper bag (or get your child to lug it around in theirs if you can!)
The most important thing to wear is a smile, and the most important thing to take is a sense of fun and adventure.”
There is a reason your children get so excited about trips out of the school grounds – it is great fun and I wish I had started volunteering sooner! It will also give you a wonderful insight into your child’s personality and the way they interact with their peers. Oh, and if you do have to discipline anyone, don’t feel too bad or scared about it. I had to remind two little girls not to run in an art gallery, one of them glared at me and hissed, “We’re not running, we’re skipping!!” Pffft!
Have you braved a school excursion, and if so, what’re your tips?
And if you’re too chicken, what excuses do you come up with?

What To Wear On A College Tour
By Lauren Frankfort
'Tis the season of college tours, which brings long days spent looking at dorms, walking through a lot of quads, and listening to speeches that seem like they could go on forever. So to keep yourself stress-free (and stylish!), dress in sleek layers and chic extras. Pack lots of separates and one seriously versatile dress, so you can go from day-to-night and campus-to-campus in comfort.
While you should definitely stay on the conservative side since you'll be rubbing elbows with professors and advisors, you can still flaunt your fashion sense with punchy prints and lots of color. Since you'll like be touring around all weekend, stuff a weekend bag full of your favorite tees, jeans, and dresses, as well as a notebook to jot down the pros and cons of each school. A large crossbody-bag is a necessity for brochures and booklets, but it also looks totally cool too—with a cute carry-all and a few head-turning accessories, you're sure to be the coolest kid on campus.
Take a tour of your favorite universities in fashionable separates that are sure to impress any admissions counselor (and prospective classmates, too!).
Button-up Shirt
A button-up can do no wrong—it provides the perfect tailored touch to a basic sweater and if it's a warmer day, you can shed your layers and tie up the bottom into a crop-top.
Floral Jeans
Keep it casual, comfy, and most importantly cute with this darling pair of floral denim.
Lightweight and brightly-colored, this sweater is perfect for layering over a buttonup or tossing over a mini dress.

Campus tours are always filled with endless information, so keep track of the important points with a pretty little notebook!
No shoe is more adorably academic than an oord! Plus, it will keep your feet comfortable as you walk across multiple campuses.
A headband is the ultimate schoolgirl accessory. Hold your hair back and make a style statement all at the same time with this adorable bow version.
Cute Carry-all
With all of the papers thrown your way, you are going to need a big bag! Opt for a big handbag with fun neon accents that will be able to fit all the necessities.
Pearl Necklace
Adorn your neck with this trendy take on a collegiate classic.
Wear-everywhere Dress
If you're meeting with advisors or interviewing while on campus, go for a dainty little dress that's both pretty and professional.
For those tackling multiple tours in one weekend, pack your change of clothes in a charming floral duffle.

How do you dress for field trips?

Hi guys, Happy Sunday Here's my question, how do you dress when you go on field trips? In a few weeks we are going on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch and I don't know what to wear. I don't do the halloween shirt, with the matching socks and earrings ( my teachers used to do this for every holiday or holiday-related activity). I'm young, 24, so I want to dress cute, yet comfortable but still look professional. Last year when we went, I kept getting mistaken for a parent not the teacher. Help please

We are allowed to wear jeans on field trips. And, going to a pumpkin patch (where you get dirty and stuff), I would wear jeans if at all possible. Since you are in LA, I am going to assume it will still be pretty warm. I'd wear a cotton top I wasn't too attached to. With a field trip like the pumpkin patch, you can't wear too nice of clothes. It's just not practical!
czacza Multitudinous
I think Jeans are acceptable for a pumpkin patch trip.
LAH2 Companion
I always wear jeans on class trips. You should definitely dress comfortably to go to a pumpkin patch. I always have that happen too when people are not sure who is the teacher and who are the parents. I think it will happen no matter what you wear.
traveler Comrade
I wold wear jeans and a school shirt (if you have one) and comfy shoes. I wear tennis shoes as I have foot/leg issues. You need to be comfortable. I wouldn't worry about looking like a parent.
MissFroggy Aficionado
I wear whatever is appropriate. To a play, I wear a nice outfit like I normally would to work. To the pumpkin patch, I'd wear jeans, a fleece, layers, etc. When I took the kids to the beach (to see tide pools) I wore rubber boots, a wind breaker, a hat, and so forth.

We wear jeans and our school fieldtrip shirt. Simple.
teach_each1 Comrade
per our new district requirements we are only allowed to wear jeans on field trips if we are going to the pumpkin patch. Even the zoo trip requires standard school dress code.

Jeans and a nice shirt or a school shirt if you have those. I would dress for the situation - we go on one next month but I am planning on wearing jeans we will be out all day.
trayums Enthusiast
I agree. Jeans all the way but usually with a nice top.

Don't look like raggedy Anne. Be comfortably casual. Nice jeans or casual pants w/ a nice top & definitely comfortable shoes. Now's not the time to wear those new shoes that you don't know will hurt towards the end of the day.

If you have a name tag you wear daily at work, put that on, too. Then you won't get mixed up as a parent.

Jeans, school sweater/t shirt, nice hair and makeup, with my name badge. Enjoy it!

Dress Comfortably and Safely for Your Outdoor Adventure Activity
All of our outdoor activities at Kippure Adventure Activity Centre will require participants to be dressed appropriately, for both their comfort and safety. Following are some basic guidelines on outdoor clothing to wear which we would kindly ask all teachers to communicate to their students, so that your school tour can run smoothly from the offset.
First and foremost, clothing should be casual and comfortable. For many activities, you may end up getting a little dirty too, so it’s best to leave the finery at home!
DO wear: Jogging pants/walking trousers Long sleeved tops Lots of layers Sturdy shoes with a good grip (trainers, walking shoes or similar)
DO NOT wear: Denim jeans Shorts (although shorts may be brought along in very hot weather) Skirts High heels
Seasonal recommendations
- Summer: even if the forecast is good, it is wise to be prepared for all eventualities. Please bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), shorts and a lightweight jacket. Insect repellent is also recommended (in case of midges).
- Spring/Autumn/Winter: please bring a warm coat, hat and gloves. Wear a few different layers as the weather can be notoriously changeable. A waterproof jacket is also essential and waterproof trousers are recommended.
The above guidelines apply to all activities at Kippure Estate, from school tours and field and education trips to adventure days, team building days or any other outdoor activity. We want everyone to enjoy their day as much as possible, and dressing appropriately will make a big difference!

What to Wear Tip #4: Pack More than One Pair of Shoes. A school trip is not the time to break in a new pair of shoes. You will be walking more often than you think! Wear shoes that are broken-in and make sure that you bring a backup pair. Some shoes seem comfortable until they result in surprising blisters.
Teens can go for shorts, onesies, pants, dress shirts, tops, frocks, and skirts. The challenging part is knowing which items to pair. In summer, white and blue make a lovely combo. You can also try yellows, pinks or lighter tones of other colors. The only exception to this rule is black.
Stick your socks and underwear in your shoes to create more space. Make sure to pack some empty plastic bags. You can use these to hold your laundry and wet bathing suits. Save a small amount of space in your bag for any souvenirs you might want to bring home. 3.

Schools can generally have beach day on campus or take a field trip to the nearest beach. For boys, wear shorts, a t-shirt, sunglasses, and a hat. For girls, wear a blouse and a skirt with a sunhat, sunglasses, and sandals. Props like a surfboard, a beach ball, and other beach items can add to the beach vibe.
