PHOENIX — Bad Bunny is bringing his “Most Wanted Tour” to Phoenix’s Footprint Center for two shows next year.

The “Where She Goes” singer announced shows in Phoenix on Feb. 27 and 28 as part of his 47-date, 31-city tour Thursday that offers fans a more intimate setting.

These will be Bad Bunny’s first Phoenix performances since the three-time Grammy-winning artist played Chase Field in September 2022.

The shows will be an experience curated for day-one fans and will be a rollercoaster of explicit lyrics that hones in on the star’s trap roots, so parental discretion is advised.

The tour begins Wednesday, Feb. 21 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and closes with three shows in Miami.

The tour announcement comes ahead of Bad Bunny hosting Saturday Night Live this Saturday, and follows last week’s release of “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana,” the Puerto Rican artist’s fifth solo album.

Bad Bunny is heading out for the Most Wanted Tour! Registration is open now until Sunday 10/22 at 11:59PM EST. Sign up today! 🔥 https://t.co/slcabAjjcD pic.twitter.com/jG8qWTjIo9 — Live Nation (@LiveNation) October 19, 2023

How do I get tickets for Bad Bunny’s “Most Wanted Tour?”

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 25. Registration for tickets is open through Sunday on the tour website.

Bad Bunny fans are being asked to register before tickets go on sale to help block bots and scalpers, reduce resales and get more tickets directly into the hands of real people who want to attend the show.

Fans can register from now until 8:59 p.m. Sunday online .

Once registration closes, fans will be randomly selected to receive a code that grants them access to the sale on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

PHOENIX, AZ — Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny announced Monday that he will be embarking on a 15-city U.S. stadium tour this summer and fall, which will include a stop in Phoenix.

The World's Hottest Tour will come to Phoenix's Chase Field on Sept. 28, and also will feature Alesso, a Swedish DJ.

Bad Bunny, 27, whose hits include "Dakiti," "Mia," and "Yonaguni," announced the summer tour even before beginning his 36-date El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo arena tour this spring. That tour is scheduled to visit Phoenix's Footprint Center on March 6 .

On Instagram Monday, in addition to announcing the tour, Bad Bunny — whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio —also hinted there was a new album on the way.

"I was thinking, 'What if I announce my next tour?' Therefore, while I work on my new album, which will come out this year, you can buy tickets for my next tour."

After the 15-city U.S. leg of the World's Hottest Tour, Bad Bunny is scheduled to play 14 additional dates in Mexico, South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Bad Bunny's Most Wanted Tour: Everything to Know

Bad Bunny

Get all the details on the Puerto Rican superstar's fifth concert tour, including the dates and setlist.

Bad Bunny  has officially kicked off his highly anticipated Most Wanted Tour!

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican superstar launched his fifth concert tour on Feb. 21 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and on Saturday, he took over San Francisco's Chase Center for his second sold-out show at the venue.

ET was on hand for the concert, which was a departure from his 2022 record-breaking tour,  El Último Tour del Mundo . Unlike the last tour -- which amassed over $435 million, according to  Billboard ,  and featured more upbeat party hits -- Bad Bunny fully embraces his "King of Latin Trap" title as he returns to his trap music roots by performing songs from his latest album,  Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana.

Bad Bunny's concert was full of surprises from start to finish. In addition to the updated setlist, the show features three different stages (including a floating catwalk), a full orchestra, inclusive choreography, a ton of pyrotechnics, incredible light shows, and even a real-life horse.

During the second act of the show, Bad Bunny makes his way to one of the stages on horseback as part of the tour's Wild West theme. In fact, PETA recently slammed the musician for the concert stunt, telling Newsweek ,  "Horses are extremely skittish individuals, and they're not props to be ridden across a stage amid flashing lights, booming music and noisy crowds. As they're easily spooked, this could have ended in tragedy, all for an absurd and thoughtless gimmick." The "Where She Goes" rapper has yet to issue a public response.

While the majority of the concert consists of Bad Bunny singing hit after hit, the performer does take a moment during the middle of the show to share his appreciation for his fans.

"I want to thank you for being here tonight once again. San Francisco, thank you for being here. I appreciate it so much," he told the crowd in Spanish, before asking how everybody was feeling.

As the crowd cheered, Bad Bunny continued: "With this place full of so many people, it is impossible for each of you to be feeling good. It's impossible. I am 100 percent sure that perhaps many of you tonight are going through a situation in your lives, a concern, a difficult moment, but either way, you came out... you left your problems outside and are here spending the night with me... Thank you very much. You guys also make me feel better, so thank you."

Bad Bunny has long been open about his mental health struggles , and during his performance on Sunday, he spoke about how some days are harder than others, saying some days he wakes up not wanting to do anything, and other days, he feels like "moving the world."

"It's part of life," he told the audience. "We have those moments where we're not totally OK. It's part of the day-to-day process."

Following his only speech of the night, Bad Bunny transitioned into an acoustic set, accompanied by a piano, before closing out the show with some of his more popular hits, including "Dakiti," "Me Porto Bonito," and "Where She Goes."

Bad Bunny will visit Phoenix for two nights on his 2024 Most Wanted Tour.

Promoted by Live Nation, the 31-city North America arena tour kicks off in February and includes shows at Footprint Center downtown on Tuesday, Feb. 27 and Wednesday, Feb. 28.

After becoming the top touring artist in 2022, the three-time Grammy winner took a break from the stages in 2023 with exceptions like Coachella, the Grammy awards, and the Latin Billboard Awards.

Bad Bunny’s new album, “nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana” became the most-streamed album in a single day in 2023 so far on Spotify. The album has amassed more than 900 million streams and its lead track, “Monaco,” hit #1 in 16 countries on Spotify.

Bad Bunny Announces World's Hottest Tour For Summer 2022

With special guests Alesso and Diplo.

It’s shaping up to be a major year for Bad Bunny. After selling out his first headlining tour since 2020, El Último Tour Del Mundo, in record time — the Puerto Rican superstar is now extending his trek around the world by announcing a new 29-date stadium tour set to take place during the summer of 2022 in the U.S. and Latin America.

World’s Hottest Tour, Bad Bunny’s first-ever stadium-sized tour, will kick off just four months after he wraps up El Último Tour Del Mundo, which is set to begin at the beginning of Feb.

Come Aug. 5, Bad Bunny will embark on the U.S. leg of World’s Hottest Tour with performances set at major arenas across the U.S., including Atlanta’s Truist Park, Boston’s Fenway Park, Chicago’s Soldier Field, New York City’s Yankee Stadium, and Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. And there’s more: Bad Bunny is also inviting DJs Alesso and Diplo to open select dates on the road.

The Latin America leg of the tour will commence shortly after in October, with shows in Dominican Republic, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, and more, before ending with two shows in Mexico.

Announcing the new shows via Instagram Reels , Bad Bunny also revealed that a new album is on the way: “While I work on my new album, you can buy tickets for my next tour,” he said. The album will be his first major release since 2020’s El Último Tour Del Mundo .

Bad Bunny rides horse into Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Here are the top moments from 'Most Wanted Tour' concert stop

bad bunny tour phoenix

On Saturday night, the King of Latin Trap summoned his inner cowboy, riding horseback into Bridgestone Arena during his "Most Wanted Tour" concert.

The Puerto Rican singer, rapper and global pop star delivered a 37-song, high energy concert in Nashville that combined elements of the fine arts, Latin pop and western culture.

Bad Bunny drew from classic trap sounds, conversational rap and reggaeton. But, he also incorporated elements of classical music, rock, bachata and soul into his show, blending genres in the trademark manner that grew him one of the biggest fanbases in the world.

Best known for songs "PERRO NEGRO," "un x100to" and "MONACO," Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is one of the top global streaming artists.

He's won three Grammys and was a top touring artist in 2022. Bad Bunny took a break from touring extensively last year, but hit the road again this year.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

In October, he released his newest album “ nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana ” (which translates to: "nobody knows what will happen tomorrow"), which became the most streamed album in a single day in 2023 on Spotify.

Bad Bunny's tour in support of his fifth studio album kicked off in February in Salt Lake City, UT, and will run through May, ending in Miami, FL.

Nashville fans filed into Bridgestone Arena dressed to the tour's theme, wearing western garb that leaned into the "Most Wanted" cowboy outlaw energy.

Many fans showed up in cowboy hats and boots or bandanas tied around their neck. Some opted for the sleek all-black look with fishnets. Others nodded to Bad Bunny himself, wearing backwards hats, thick chains and skinny sunglasses.

Some audience members brought Puerto Rican flags with them, waving them around in the arena.

One fan, Christian Rivera, had a small flag with him in the show.

Rivera, a Puerto Rican Nashvillian, said he felt represented at the concert.

"Someone from your culture coming out here and putting on a show instead of (only country artists), to me, that's a bigger deal," he said.

The evening's concert was a tight two-hour show split into four distinct acts. Each portion of the show had its own feel, flair and notable moments.

Much of the show included laser lights, pyrotechnics, moving platforms, bursts of fire and smoke, and a larger-than-life production that bordered on spectacle.

Here are the concert's top moments, act by act.

Act I: 'Nadie Sabe'

The show began shortly after 9 p.m. CST, with no openers hitting the stage before Bad Bunny.

But, Bad Bunny did enlist the help of an orchestra who performed a 10-minute sweeping, orchestral overture leading up to his arrival.

The arena was set up with two crescent-shaped stages separated by the audience in between, one inhabited by the orchestra and the other empty.

The show began with orange lights and smoke pouring over the orchestra as they played, wearing black suits and stunning the crowd with strings and horns.

On the other stage, Bad Bunny ascended from an under-stage platform as the crowd chanted "Benito."

He kicked off the night with "Nadie Sabe," wearing a black suit like the orchestra members, a white shirt, a bolo tie (which he later threw into the crowd), a backwards hat and a studded black scarf.

Bunny performed "Nadie Sabe," "Monaco" and "Fina" with the accompaniment of the orchestra, adding layers of instrumental harmony to his Latin trap sound.

The first portion of the show saw hits like "Hibiki," "Mr. October" and "Seda," showing Bad Bunny rapping and singing in his slurred, sensual style. He danced on stage, jumped and skipped, leaning into his pop stardom with an entourage of 18 backup dancers.

His dancers wore cowboy chaps and alternated between unchoreographed, smooth, slinking movements to highly coordinated hip-hop dance routines.

The end of Act I came with song "Baticano," where Bad Bunny descended back into the stage via the moving platform, pushed down by his backup dancers wearing ghoul masks and hooded cloaks.

Act II: Trap

Act II began with an attention-grabber.

Bad Bunny rode horseback into the arena , entering from backstage on the back of a trotting brown horse, to the surprise of fans in the arena.

Bad Bunny has been entering on horseback for the second act since the tour's kick-off; some fans have criticized his use of an animal in the show after the entrance began going viral at the end of February.

Some concert-goers have called attention to animal rights, creating a debate that discusses the ethics of animals in the music and entertainment space.

Though the horseback entrance has been widely publicized, many fans were still astonished by Benito's return to the stage.

He kicked off act two with "Telefono Nuevo," and played hits like "Pa Ti," "No Te Hagas" and "Vuelve."

Notable, in Act II, was the fact that fans were wearing light up lanyards provided by the venue, coordinated in time with Bad Bunny's stage lights.

As he sang and rapped and lights flashed around him, blinking lights twinkled from fan's lanyards around the whole arena, creating a visual display that reached far beyond just the stage. The fans were part of the decor.

The act ended with a show-stopping performance of "Thunder Y Lightning" that simulated a thunderstorm, showing flashing strobes reminiscent of lighting and bursts of smoke like storm clouds.

Act III: Piano ballads

Act III leaned into a softer side of Bad Bunny's sound.

He sat on top of a grand piano and sang "Gracias por Nada" and "Un x100to," delivering an emotive, heartfelt performance.

Here, Bad Bunny reminded his fans that he doesn't just rap, he sings in a crisp tenor tone that is so remarkably clean it sounds like natural auto-tune.

The brief Act III added depth to Bad Bunny's concert, showcasing his breadth as an artist.

Act IV: Perreo

The final act brought perreo, a reggaeton dance portion.

For the last part of the show, the backup dancers returned and a DJ joined Bad Bunny, creating a fast switch-up from the piano-backed ballads just moments earlier.

Bad Bunny performed hits "Perro Negro," "La Jumpa," "Me Porto Bonito" and the encore "Where She Goes."

The quick-paced portion of the show showcased bursts of fire and flashing lights, an arena of dancing, screaming fans and an energetic momentum that carried to the concert's final moments.

Bad Bunny told the crowd time and time again his appreciation for them and Nashville, sharing the love and gratitude he felt on this tour.

"Buenos noches," he said. "Muchas gracias, Nashville!"

Superstar Bad Bunny’s Tour Illuminated by Frost Artistry

By Jordan Levin 05-07-2024

The fans that have filled arenas across the United States for reggaeton/pop superstar Bad Bunny’s hotly anticipated “Most Wanted” tour this spring encountered something they did not expect: a conductor leading a 23-piece orchestra in a soaring blend of pop and classical music forged at the Frost School of Music.

The conductor is Frost School of Music triple graduate Carlos Lopez, while nearly half the orchestra are current or former Frost students or alumni.   Lopez , a Colombian native with a bachelor’s in production, a masters in classical composition, and a doctorate in classical conducting from Frost, had already parlayed those disparate degrees into success as both a Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning pop producer and a classical composer and conductor.

But the Bad Bunny tour has enabled Lopez to connect what are generally considered completely divergent genres on a massive cultural platform—bringing wide attention to the Frost School’s capacity to shape groundbreaking music artists.

“I had an instinct I needed to bridge those two worlds and build an intersection between the classical concert world and pop music for mass audiences,” says   Lopez . He credits the Frost School for not only giving him the skills, but fostering the mindset that enabled him to do so. “The school has something unique and important,” says Lopez. “The landscape and curriculum allow people to connect with very different fields and navigate many different musical languages.”

Lopez’s talent led Maestro Gerard   Schwarz , Frost’s distinguished conducting and orchestral studies professor, to accept him as one of just four doctoral conducting students. “For me the most important thing is to have people with extraordinary potential, and Carlos has that,” says Schwarz. “What Bad Bunny has understood is that Carlos can add a new dimension. This is huge. It really speaks to who we are at the Frost School of Music.”

The musical bridge-building began last year, when Bad Bunny asked Lopez to compose music for the Puerto Rican rapper’s show at the Coachella festival, which Lopez recorded with Frost students and alumni in Weeks Recording Studio. The singer followed by asking Lopez to create orchestral music for two tracks on his new album, “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana” (No One Knows What’ll Happen Tomorrow), with Lopez credited as co-producer, co-writer, and performer on the title track. Bad Bunny then asked Lopez to organize and conduct an orchestra for the tour. Shortly before launching, Lopez was tasked with writing an overture for the concerts – which he composed in just two days holed up in his hotel.

Adding a formal, top-notch classical ensemble to his concerts aligns with other ways Bad Bunny has been expanding his artistic profile beyond the urban pop world:   hosting   Saturday Night Live; walking the red carpet at the style-defining   Met Gala ; and doing an   interview   with film star and fellow Boricua   Benicio Del Toro   for hipster bible Interview Magazine.

“He’s a visionary,” says Lopez, who’s impressed by Bad Bunny’s adventurousness. “He wants to expand the limits of his creative landscape.”

The Most Wanted   tour   kicked off in Salt Lake City on February 21, and winds up in Miami May 24-26. Concerts open with what’s named the   Philharmonic Orchestra Project   playing the 9-minute overture on a separate stage, then accompanying Bad Bunny on several songs. At one point the musicians even play from the audience. The star’s PR team has included the orchestra in tour promotion, while press   reviews   have noted the ensemble and fans have posted enthusiastically about it on social media. The 'Most Wanted' tour has been hugely popular, with more than 500,000 people attending more than 30 concerts so far. Promotors believe that by the 49th and final show, close to 800,000 fans will have seen 'Most Wanted' - and the Philharmonic Orchestra Project.

Dean Shelton G. Berg is proud of how Lopez and the other Frost musicians are triumphing on this new stage.  “If you have this opportunity to be part of Bad Bunny’s music, your role is to make people think it was better because of the orchestra,” says Berg. “They understand their job is to play great and connect to the audience. That translates.”

Their experience on a massive pop stage has dazzled the Frost players.

“Every time the strings went up in the register or the music got more exciting people were screaming and going crazy,” says Guillermo   Ospina , a percussionist and fellow Colombian who played under Lopez while earning his doctorate at Frost in 2023. “This is bringing classical music to a more diverse audience.”

“It’s been a whirlwind,” says trombonist and composer   Connor Frederick,   who put off finishing his doctorate at Frost to join the tour. “The roar of all these people is not like anything I’ve experienced.”

“Frost is the place I needed to be to have an opportunity like this,” he says.

Why is Bad Bunny so popular? His downtown Phoenix concert had all the answers

bad bunny tour phoenix

Bad Bunny drew an estimated crowd of more than 43,000 to what certainly looked to be a sold-out Chase Field in downtown Phoenix Wednesday night with the promise of delivering the World’s Hottest Tour.

And the Puerto Rican superstar delivered on that promise, treating fans to an electrifying journey through highlights of the catalog that put him on the fast track to selling out stadium tours at 28.

He’s been the most-streamed artist in the world on Spotify for two years running. You could feel that in the joyous singalongs that filled the stadium, occasionally punctuated by chants of "Benito," his real name.

Concert review: Bad Bunny collaborators Gorillaz bring 'Feel Good' concert of the year to Phoenix

Bad Bunny opened with his No. 1 new album

The 2½-hour set leaned heavily on songs from “Un Verano Sin Ti,” his latest album.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Released in May, it's spent more weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's album chart this year than any other album while sending four songs to the Top 10 on the Hot 100.

Bad Bunny opened with the first and highest-charting of those singles, "Moscow Mule," after making his entrance on a set made to look like a tropical island, pulling a drink from the cooler he carried on stage after taking his seat on a beach chair.

Another hit from "Un Verano Sin Ti" followed, Chencho Corleone of the reggaeton duo Plan B hitting the stage like an exhilarating force of nature to revisit his feature on another of that album's biggest singles, "Me Porto Bonito."

By the time Bad Bunny brought the concert to a pyro-laden finish with the horn-driven splendor of the hyperactive mambo "Después de la Playa" as a backup dancer waved the Puerto Rican flag, he'd made his way through more than half the songs on his new album.

Why are there no major concerts at Arizona State Fair?  What to expect next year

It wasn't all 'Un Verano Sin Ti'

And that still afforded him plenty of time to reach back to his first full-length release, 2018's "X 100pre," for such crowd-pleasing highlights as "Ni bien ni mal" and "200 MPH."

He also threw in a taste of the hit that introduced him to most people in the U.S. mainstream, Cardi B's chart-topping "I Like It."

The set moved quickly through the more than 30 songs (or parts of songs) he squeezed into his time on stage, incorporating elements of reggaeton, cumbia, salsa, merengue, bachata, bossa nova, Latin trap and more.

The only time he sacrificed momentum was to speak, in Spanish, to his fans, which he did often — and at great length on occasion. He came across as not just charismatic but sincere as he connected with the audience that put him on that stage.

This is the biggest tour Bad Bunny has ever done. And he responded to the challenge with a show that definitely seemed designed to hit the back rows of the ballpark.

The music festival downtown Phoenix needed: Everything you need to know about Zona

Finding the tropical paradise in Chase Field

The stage was simple yet effective — a sandy beach with giant palm trees and some rocks, a visual fleshed out by the action on the massive screens behind the stage.

The concert opened with a scene of dolphins swimming toward an island. Later, dolphin drones swam overhead. Bad Bunny also spent some time above the crowd, suspended on a floating island with a single palm tree as he sang "Un Coco," a cut from “Un Verano Sin Ti.”

There were lasers, columns of smoke, flames shooting out of the floor and fireworks, of course.

For the first few songs, Bad Bunny was alone on stage.

His crew of maybe 20 dancers made their first appearance on the fifth song, "Party," working the catwalks that cut through the audience to a smaller second stage on several songs and shooting fog cannons into the crowd on "I Like It."

He recruited additional dancers from the crowd toward the end of his performance, gleefully sharing the spotlight as they busted out their outrageous moves.

That spirit of inclusion only reinforced the sense that Bad Bunny had managed to take a ballpark packed with more than 40,000 people and make it feel more like the wildest beach party in town.

Here's who opened for Bad Bunny

Deorro opened the show with a crowd-pleasing DJ set that had fans dancing and singing along from the start, as he made his way through remixes of songs by David Guetta and Sia, the Spice Girls, Mana's "Oye Mi Amor" and more.
