On March 18, I buzzed with excitement in a crowd of nearly 70,000 fans eagerly counting down the seconds (literally — a giant clock ticked on screen) until Taylor Swift walked onstage for her second show of the wildly-anticipated Eras Tour . Three hours and 13 minutes later, I was basking in the blissful aftermath of an epic 44-song setlist from the music icon.

But before that, I thought long and hard about what to wear to a Taylor Swift concert I'd been daydreaming about for years. With four new albums and two re-recordings released since her last tour, the options were endless. Should I dress for her latest era, the glimmering, moody Midnights , wander back into the whimsical woods in honor of Folklore and Evermore , embrace the bubblegum pink wonderland of Lover , or pay tribute to Red (Taylor's Version) in loafers and, well, red?

Attendees are planning to wear outfits inspired by their favorite Taylor Swift era. There are ten eras total: Taylor Swift (Self-Titled), Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. Each era has its own vibe, color aesthetic, and specific pieces Taylor wore during those periods. For example, Reputation is an absolute classic, with snake print, black leather, and tons of sass. Or maybe the Red era? I mean, that one IS my favorite Taylor Swift album. Come as a sad autumn girl with a red scarf, black high-waisted shorts and oxfords— that's definitely a vibe.

If you're wanting to dress up as Taylor's Lover era, it's a sweet detail to do the heart shape makeup over her eye like she does on her album cover! In order to do that, you'll need two main items: liquid latex and skin-safe pink glitter. You can find them here:

I've used the liquid latex above before and it works really well. All you'll need to do is outline the heart around your eye with the liquid latex, wait for it to get tacky, and then apply the pink glitter!

Folklore Era

If you aren't the sparkly-dress Taylor Swift fan, and want to be a sad cottage-core girl, here is your chance! This album screams alone-in-the-woods-and-in-the-feels.

Am I crazy to say that Evermore is one of my favorite TSwift albums? It's definitely the most forgotten one, but WOW does it have some bops, both sad and lovely.

This era was so short-lived, but it gave us some beautiful looks! An easy go-to would be the brown/orange plaid jacket from Evermore. (I've linked on similar) Also, the Willow music video is a huge inspiration for these, and other Swifties will know exactly what you're going for!

Midnights only came out a few weeks ago while I'm writing this, so I'm still reeling from this album release! I know from the second I hear "Anti-Hero" that it would be an instant classic.

When it comes to the looks from Midnights era, they span from glitzy blue midnight dresses and plenty of sparkles, mixed with vintage looks that evoke a sense of 70s retro. Combining these all together will be the ultimate Midnights tour outfit!

The Taylor Swift Midnights vibe: Honestly, Taylor's Midnights aesthetic is all over the place, but can be boiled down to: 70s vintage, starry night, retro, oranges, blues, lavender, clocks, and anything, and I mean anything that is bejeweled.

Inspired by her 70's glam looks in much of the material for the release of her album midnights, you can don some burnt orange and corduroy and fit in well! The top and fur jacket look similar to the starry dress Taylor wore out when she was promoting "Midnights". For a more casual "Midnights" look, you can wear this sheer celestial top as well. If you want to come to the concert the MOST prepared, you can dress like the current Era: the Eras era! Pretty meta, right? Here are some of the outfits that Taylor's been wearing on her tour that you can recreate in your concert outfit:

Stage outfit 1— Midnights era Lavender Haze jacket

Taylor wears a pink/lavender sparkly dress with a fun faux-fur lavender coat. You can find a super sparkly dress and add a lavender faux fur coat, and look just like Taylor!

Stage outfit 2— Evermore era pink dress

Taylor's whimsical pink dress during her Evermore era is GORGEOUS. Play up your own ethereal vibe and wear a similar dress to the Eras tour!

Stage outfit 3— Reputation era jumpsuit

Taylor wears this awesome one-legged jumpsuit with red snakes all over it. You can buy a black sparkly jumpsuit and attach red snake appliqués to create a look similar to it.

Stage outfit 4— Sparkly RED era jacket

The RED era (my favorite!) has Taylor donning a long red sparkle trench coat. You can look similar to this in either this red velvet long trench I've found, or a men's sparkly suit jacket!

Stage outfit 5— "A LOT Going On At The Moment" shirt

She's reinvented her own RED era look with a shirt that instead of saying "Not a lot going on at the moment" it says "A LOT going on at the moment"! I've found a shirt that says exactly that new phrase on Amazon. Taylor also pairs it with a pair of sparkly black bottoms and a black hat.

Artists'  stage costumes are a huge part of their tours, and now showgoers are following suit. Not only are the venue things to consider while dressing for a concert but the genre and entire theme of an album are up for similar consideration. A simple click into one TikTok sound made for Swifties to show off their  Eras tour pulls up 10.2k posts and counting—filled with fans showing off outfits based on each album. I never thought I'd see the day when platform heels were the shoe choice of concerts but after all, a look is a look.

Incorporating signature style elements of the artist is key for creating the perfect concert look, whether it's a color theme or a go-to accessory. To help you decide on an outfit based on the type of concert you're going to, we've curated outfit ideas and mood boards based on each artist's current aesthetic. Whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe.

If you’re anything like team Marie Claire, you’ve been waiting for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the minute that it was announced. And whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe. Or, should I say, matches the eras of Swift’s music. 

As a fan who got to attend the show in Boston recently, I was amazed at the wide array of looks at my show. Fans were decked out in Reputation -era snake print, glitter-encrusted face paint inspired by Swift's Lovers album cover, and plenty of DIY’d T-shirts from her Speak Now days. The bottom line? The looks varied widely, proving that you can truly go in any direction when picking your outfit for the Eras tour.

I love getting dressed up for concerts, but I also want to make sure that I can wear my new pieces again and again. It was a question I asked myself over and over while shopping for my own Eras Tour ensemble: Is the look good for me for right now, or good for me forever? In the end, I opted for a bedazzled mesh dress that I could also wear again on a night out over jeans or a slip dress . For the show, I opted to style it over a bodysuit for added coverage. 

If you’re heading to the show this summer, there are a few key things to keep in mind, no matter what you wear. The show is long—five hours from the beginning of the opening act to the end of Swift’s set!—so you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing. Plus, if you’re the kind of fan who spends the majority of the concert jumping and dancing like you’re alone in your bedroom, you’ll want to wear something that you don’t have to worry about adjusting. Comfortable footwear is a must, so make sure that your new shoes don’t require breaking in before you go. Finally, the temperature tends to drop at night—especially if you’re at one of Swift’s rainier shows—so packing waterproof layers in your stadium-approved clear bag is key. (I wish I had packed a sweater.)

Ahead, I rounded up a selection of pieces for you to wear to the Eras Tour, broken down by Era. I’ve tried to think of everything: the shoes I’ve selected are known for being comfortable from the first wear. The dresses are comfortable to both sit and move around in. The jackets add warmth when you need them. Plus, many of the pieces below fall in line with some of summer 2023's biggest fashion trends . 

Taylor Swift's Debut Album Era

If you’re dying for a debut self-titled album Secret Song at your show, wear something that harkens back to Swift’s first-ever era. This time in her career was defined by pastel blue and green shades, her iconic curling-iron curls, and her country twang. Consider cowboy boots and sweet tulle skirts. 

Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' Era

Prefer gold to silver? The Fearless era is for you. This album had it all: Fireworks! A sparkly gold guitar! A gold fringed dress! More was more. To make it work, incorporate gold into your look via a pair of trendy sneakers , a going-out top in the hue, or by wearing a pair of viral gold jeans.     

Taylor Swift's 'Speak Now' Era

Speak Now was defined by one color and one color only: A rich purple. It's the color Swift is wearing on the cover of the album, and it's the shade that has stayed attached to the record ever since. Sweet midi dresses and shoes that come in the same shade are go-tos for this era. 

Taylor Swift's 'Red' Era

Red makes for an easy outfit because it only requires that you wear one color—red. Swift also went slightly preppy while on tour for the album, opting for a classic Breton striped shirt and red high-waisted denim . No matter which outfit vibe you choose, don’t forget your heart-shaped sunglasses.

1989 is one of the more unique albums in Swift’s discography regarding her looks. While she repped matching sets on tour for the album, she's opted for orange ensembles while on the current Eras Tour.

My personal favorite era as someone who loves to wear all-black, Reputation- inspired outfits are perfect for those who prefer a little drama. From the actual sheer mesh dress I wore to my own concert to a statement-making choker necklace priced at under $50, this era is all about going all-out. 

Taylor Swift's 'Lover' Era

If you love playing with color, consider a Lover- era ensemble for your concert. The key colors for this era were bright Barbiecore pink and rich blue, but pastel shades like baby pink and lavender —a trending color for 2023—were also popular. Go all-out with a heart-shaped stencil around your eye, or heart-shaped earrings. 

Taylor Swift's 'Folklore' Era

Folklore was a departure from the previous maximalist Lover era. The aesthetic for the album was a combination of woodland fairy and cottagecore. On-stage, this translates to flowing summer dresses in muted shades like olive green. IRL, pair lacy layers with chunky cardigans and sweet Mary Jane shoes.

Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' Era

Cozy-core fans, the Evermore era is for you. Taylor’s second pandemic album was full of woodland references but, unlike its predecessor, the vibe this time around was very much fall-inspired. Flannel dresses, comfy Birkenstock sandals, and other comfy pieces reign supreme. Shades to highlight include marigold yellow and burnt red.

Good thing silver everything is one of 2023’s biggest trends—Taylor is obsessed with the shade for her Midnights era. Her looks from this time in her career are about metallics , drama, and deep shades like navy blue and fushia. Dressing up for the Taylor Swift concert isn’t required, but it certainly is fun — especially when she provides us with so much inspiration to draw from. And fans are getting pretty creative with their ensembles.

You don’t have to spend a bunch of money or buy everything completely brand-new in order to join in on the experience either. Just go thrifting! Here are a bunch of last-minute, DIY, and sustainable Eras Tour outfit ideas to help get you started.

Where to find sustainable outfits for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour:

When it comes to a special event such as the Eras Tour, it can be easy to get carried away. Well, that’s totally fine (and understandable) as long as you’re trying your best to be kind to the planet — don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to accomplish this.

Instead of ordering endless items from Amazon or fast fashion brands like Shein, to find all of your essential outfit pieces in a sustainable way, you're going to rely on items that are not brand new.

After deciding what outfit you'd like to wear, head to local thrift stores . These places are packed full of hidden gems!

Don’t stress if you can’t find anything at local stores — we always have the internet to fall back on. When you’re looking for something super specific, online thrift stores like Depop, Poshmark, and Thredup are perfect. These websites allow you to achieve your vision in an affordable and sustainable way.

Borrowing clothes and accessories from friends and family is always a good option too. Not only is this convenient, but it’s free! Plus, after buying your tickets, a free outfit is probably very appealing...

In the early days, Swift was 100 percent in her country era — she was all about sundresses, cowboy boots, and of course, her iconic tight curls. This era might be easier to pull off than the others, as it’s a lot more casual. If you’re in a time crunch, a cute summer dress with some cowboy boots could be the way to go.

To get more specific, you could recreate an outfit she wore during her "Debut" era, as the Swifties refer to it. If you're a fan of "Our Song," try a light blue, strapless, corseted gown, or a shiny orange gown — you'll have to surround yourself with rose petals, of course.

Or, if you're in the mood to make an epic costume change during the show, evoke "Should've Said No" by wearing baggy jeans and a hoodie over a little black dress .

If you’re feeling "Fearless," check out these ideas:

With “Fearless” came two songs that basically everyone on this planet knows: “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me.” Many fans are using these songs to inspire their outfits — some are wearing long, princess-inspired dresses while others are donning short fringe dresses with sparkles.

You could also make a DIY Junior Jewels shirt , and pair it with a pair of glasses and plaid pajama pants, à la the “You Belong With Me” music video. Another easy way to dress up any “Fearless” outfit is by writing “13” on the back of your hand, like Swift did at her shows during this era.

These "Speak Now" outfit ideas will make you feel completely enchanted.

For “Speak Now,” fans are gravitating towards short purple dresses , paired with a ponytail. Even Selena Gomez’s little sister, Gracie, wore a purple dress to the Eras Tour — it’s a classic look that works every time. You could also wear a ballgown, inspired by "Enchanted," which is a great way to reuse an old prom or bridesmaid dress.

Or, take inspiration from the cover of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" (out July 7, 2023) and wear a dress or top made with deep purple tulle .

Feeling 22? Then "RED" might be the way to go.

To showcase your love for the “RED” era, you can’t go wrong with red lipstick, hats, high-waisted shorts, striped T-shirts, and ballet flats. Or, take a white shirt and some black fabric paint to make a DIY "Not A Lot Going On At The Moment" top , just like Swift's. Of course, top it off with a black fedora and red heart-shaped sunglasses.

You could also take inspo from "The Red Tour" and rock any red dress along with long red opera gloves.

This time is when Swift really started getting into pop music , and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” was playing nonstop on the radio.

It’s important to note that her curly hair is absent from this era — the star went with mostly straight hair instead.

Show off your real style with these "1989" inspired fits:

“1989” was inspired by ‘80s pop music, and many of Swift's outfits during this time involved sparkles. You could recreate the opening outfit from her the 1989 World Tour by wearing a sparkly black crop top, a high-waisted holographic skirt, a sequined bomber jacket, and black booties. Or, thrift white shorts, a white tube top, and black boots to recreate another iconic "1989" tour look .

Or, if you want to dress up for “1989” without a specific outfit in mind, any glittery two-piece set you find is a safe bet. Most noticeably, Swift's hair transformed and she rocked a bob cut during this era.

Many fans are also recreating the iconic Versace outfit Swift wore to the 2016 Grammy Awards by pairing a bright orange tube top with a hot pink skirt.

You’ll look anything but "Delicate" if you’re in your "Reputation" era.

If your style is already a little bit edgy, then dressing for the “Reputation” era will be easy. This time period is all about moody makeup and black outfits — for a few bonus points, try to incorporate snakes. Check the thrift stores for leather jackets , black sequins or glitter, and anything with a newspaper print.

You could also find a secondhand flapper dress in a shade of blue, as inspired by the "Delicate" music video .

Reminiscing about a past "Lover" on Cornelia Street? No problem.

The “Lover” era is totally adorable. For this one, you can focus on pink, light blue, sparkles, hearts, and butterflies — you could probably make anything pastel-heavy work. Fans are loving heart-shaped sunglasses, butterfly earrings, pink fluffy dresses, and sparkly silver boots.

Many are also pairing faux fur pink coats with pink bikinis and sunglasses, like in the "You Need to Calm Down" music video. To incorporate more light blue into your look, you could throw on a jean jacket, add a few accessories, or create a cute “Lover” themed eyeshadow look .

“Folklore” definitely gives cottage-core vibes. This era is full of flowers, earth tones, maxi dresses, long skirts, knit sweaters, and cardigans. When it comes to accessories, think hair scarves, flower crowns, and very simple jewelry. As for hair and makeup, a braided updo and a simple makeup look might be the way to go.

The “Folklore” and “Evermore” eras are pretty similar, mostly due to the shared cottage-core aesthetic. Many of the same outfit pieces — flower crowns, long dresses, etc. — suggested for “Folklore” could work for this album as well.

If you really want to make it clear that you’re showcasing “Evermore,” just incorporate plaid into your ensemble. You could go with a plaid trench coat, skirt, or flannel . A French braid is a must.

If you’re having trouble choosing a "Midnights" outfit, well, You’re on Your Own Kid.

Just kidding! “Midnights” is an easy one, as long as you love navy blue and sparkles. Many people’s outfit inspo involves blue, black, glitter, stars, and sequins — these elements can be brought to life in a bunch of different ways.

You could also dress in Swift's “Lavender Haze” look from the Eras Tour, which features a sparkly dress underneath a purple faux fur coat. Or, for a more relaxed look inspired by "Midnights," pair brown corduroy pants with a striped knit tank top , as seen in the "Lavender Haze" music video.

Many fans are opting for heeled glittery shoes and cowboy boots for the Eras Tour, no matter what era they're representing — but with a setlist that lasts more than three hours, keeping your feet comfy should be a priority. Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Outfit Ideas

2023 brought us The Eras Tour and it will go down in history as my favorite year ever! 🎤👸🏼💖🐍🪩🍂 Thankfully the tour is literally just getting warmed up - we’ve got so many international dates to look forward to in 2024 (hopefully new music and more TV releases) and I can’t wait! If you’re lucky enough to be attending a show this year then it’s time to start planning your outfit - don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place! Just consider me your Swiftie Stylist/Eras Tour godmother ready to give you all the outfit inspo for the most epic concert ever!

I miss Taylor like it was the very first night & I feel so lucky that I was there to experience the magic of opening night (3/17/2023) in Glendale, AZ. That night was sparkling and I’ll never let it go (check out my Instagram Story highlight for videos!) and I want to keep reliving it! One way I know how to do that is through outfits 😍 In the months leading up to the concert I was dreaming up what I wanted to wear (I was really leaning into the Midnights era and wanted to go for a Bejeweled vibe !) which led me to create so many more outfits based on all of her songs! I’ve had the time of my life dreaming up outfit ideas for all of Taylor Swift’s musical eras and I can’t wait to keep the party going throughout the rest of her tour. I have a lot of history with Taylor Swift and so many memories tied to her songs during my high school and college years. I still remember buying her debut album during my freshman year of high school and since I was very into country music at that time I was instantly obsessed! My love for her music only grew when Fearless and Speak Now came out. Those 2 albums are hands-down my favorite because there’s so much nostalgia tied to them for me. I sang a lot of those songs when I had crushes on boys in high school or when some of them broke my heart, but my favorite song of hers definitely has to be Enchanted. I listened to that song on repeat the night that I met Freddy and the lyrics were the anthem of my heart…”I’m wonderstruck blushing all the way home”…”Please don’t be in love with someone else, please don’t have somebody waiting on you.” I even went to her Speak Now Tour in Los Angeles in 2011 and it was so amazing! It was when she shifted into more of a pop sound for Red that I started to lose my enchantment with her and it really bummed me out. I felt like she was leaving the country world behind and, in a way, me as well. After that I stopped listening to her new albums altogether and only heard her top hits when they played on the radio (Shake It Off, Blank Space, …Ready For It?). I eventually grew out of my country girl phase and it wasn’t until 2018 when I finally let go of my grudge (yes it took 6 years lol) and started listening to 1989 and Reputation . I fell in love with her music all over again and I was so mad at myself for letting those 6 years go by without my friend Taylor by my side. When she released Lover I felt like I was back in high school jamming out to my favorite artist and I haven’t looked back since 💖 I’ve especially loved the re-recordings she’s done so far (I’m a Speak Now girlie for life 💜 and I can’t freaking wait for Debut TV!) and it’s been so fun reminiscing on the songs that I grew up with. I’d love to hear what your favorite albums and/or songs are, too!

The Red Era (originally 2012, Taylor’s Version in 2021) is classic, comfortable, and casual. Red Era outfits largely fit into a red, black, and tan color scheme. If you are a cozy feminist with big feelings and even bigger dreams, this is the era for you.

On the original version of the Red album cover, Taylor wore classic black shorts with a white button-down top. On Taylor’s Version, she wore a dreamy trench.

Cruel Summer was one of this summer’s most popular songs, and Taylor uses it to kick off the Eras Tour show. It’s a really sweet and simple tie-dye look with blue, pink, and sometimes yellow. Lots of kiddos at the Eras Tour in Seattle copied this look. I like it because it’s casual and comfy, too.

Ahh, can you believe the Eras Tour is almost here?! This is a collection of Midnights era outfits ideas, with links to the music video and photos for additional inspiration. (Of course, Taylor Swift’s official store also has a lot of great merch there, so it’s a good place to start.) I plan to keep this post updated as new music and looks roll out, but I promise no spoilers on what she wears on tour. (Posts from other eras, like Speak Now , have photos of her tour outfits.)

Midnights Era Refresher: Midnights is Taylor’s 10th studio album and was released in 2022. To lead up to the album, she revealed track titles in a TikTok video series called “Midnights Mayhem with Me.” So far, Anti-Hero, Bejeweled, and Lavender Haze are the singles from the album.

The Midnights era features a vintage, 1970s aesthetic with rust, navy, green and tan colors. Sweaters with collars, vests, corduroy flares (or shorts, bc let’s be real - tour is happening in summer), and denim shorts — accessorized with gold hoops and cat eyes — will give you the look. I also have some DIY ideas below, if that’s more your thing.

Note that gold hoops, cat eye, and a pretty lipstick are part of each look. Dupes are below, but I’d remiss not to mention that browsing Poshmark for old Madewell t-shirts (circa 2018) may also get you the look. And, of course, there’s actual vintage, too :-)

I should probably be putting all of this in chronological order, but Midnights is chaotic and so am I. If you don’t want to go for a 1970s vibe with your Midnights era outfit and/or if you want to maximize your comfy, your next best choice is to steal something from the Lavender Haze music video.

So many options here: the oversized t-shirt for a simple but on-point look. The fur jacket if you want to be both comfortable and loud. The sweater vest + corduroy if you want to wear it again.

2023 Grammy Outfit

If you don’t want to go for stripes and cords, then you could also lean into Taylor’s grammy look, where she wore a beautiful navy blue beaded two-piece top/skirt.

Bejeweled is GLAM, and while there’s the corset top that everyone is linking to… I realize most of us probably don’t want to wear a strapless corset. I think instead you could bejewel your own black tank, t-shirt, or hoodie. Alternatively, you could recreate the yellow dress and pearls she wears at the end with a yellow top.

If Speak Now was an album about relationships, Red is an album about realizing you can make it on your own. Red era outfits are really grounded in 4 colors: red, black, white, and brown/tan. And you’re probably going for one of three iconic looks: All too Well (the short film), the album cover, or a classic, casual, 22. I’ve got links for each of these (and more Red era outfits) below.

Red Era Refresher: Red was released in 2012 and originally included the singles We are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Begin Again, I Knew You Were Trouble, 22, Red, Everything Has Changed, and The Last Time. Taylor released Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021, along with the iconic All too Well (The Short Film) featuring Sadie Sink. A music video directed by Blake Lively for “I Bet You Think About Me” followed. I’ve got photos and videos below for inspiration.

All too Well (The Short Film) Outfits

Sadie Sink and Taylor created some deeply cozy and sophisticated looks for the 10-minute version of the All to Well Short Film. Set in the Autumn, it features a lot of cozy fall looks you can steal from.

To channel the vibe for the Eras tour, you have two options. You can go for the brown argyle sweater and red scarf that Sadie wears early in the film or you can opt for the more elegant tight black turtleneck (or dress) plus gold rings and jewelry looks that both Taylor and Sadie don later in the short film.

Taylor’s classic white button down and black shorts on the original album cover was an iconic 2013 look. On Taylor’s Version, she opted for a cozier newsboy hat and tan trench coat.

I featured the Red single cover above, since it gives a closer look at the outfit on the original album cover. On Taylor’s Version, she updated the color palette slightly, but still leaned into black, tan, and (this time) an orangier red.

One of the keys to completing your look if you go for an Red era outfit is the lipstick. Lean into a pinkier red if you’re channeling 2012 and a more orange-red for Taylor’s Version.

Red Music Video Looks

Taylor released seven singles during the original era and the All too Well short film for Taylor’s Version. The best options for creating Eras tour looks are “22” and cute PJs for “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Out of all the eras, I think these are some of the most affordable and casual options.

“22” Outfit Idea

It really doesn’t get more simple than the white t-shirt, black shorts, and fedora. The red heart sunglasses complete the look. This is one of those times that I recommend a DIY t-shirt or shopping on Etsy unless you’re really pressed for time. Any black shorts will do. This is one of the most affordable Eras looks to replicate.

Fun fact: Begin Again is one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs. While she was singing in Paris, I was walking the streets of Boston and dreaming of my own future after a hard breakup. I met the man who would become my husband shortly after this song was released. To get this look, you’re looking for full skirts and fitted tops that show off your waistline. For her dressier outfits, I recommend checking out Baltic Born or searching Poshmark for vintage dresses (Lauren Conrad had some cute ones from around this time).

Speak Now was a country album, and Taylor wore a really cute country dress on tour for Our Song and Mean. If you are perhaps an older Swiftie or are looking for something a little more conservative to wear to an Eras show, this is a great look.

Because this dress is white and lace, there are a lot of great bridal-style dresses online to choose from, for all sizes and body types. Looking for “long sleeve lace dress” or “country dress” will help you narrow it down. Here is a really cute option from Shepler’s that would look great with Cowboy boots. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour kicked off last weekend! Below you’ll see my favorite Taylor Swift concert outfits ideas for the Eras Tour!

Seeing all of the Tiktoks and Reels had my FOMO at an all time high, but it got me excited for planning my tour outfit! I’ll be going to her Seattle show in July (it feels like an eternity away!) so I feel like I have plenty of time to figure this out, but it’s SO overwhelming and the more I plan the more I realize I need to go see 20 of her shows just to get all of the tour “lewks” I want LOL.

Currently, I’m stuck between a Lover look and a Reputation look. Two very different things. Reputation is my favorite album, but the Lover colors are basically my whole life–pink everything. Knowing me, I probably won’t decide until the week before 😅.

Color palette- -black and off-white with plaids and textured linens, stars, cardigans, floral print.

Folklore, the cottage core album, is all about plaids and textured linens that look like they’re ancient. Some millennials might remember the coffee/tea dyeing era that we went through in the 90s (LOL) where we couldn’t have anything bright white. It had to be dyed. Anyway, this era is that. It reminds me of baking bread and jelly at my granny’s house.

Pair any of these with Dr Marten’s laceup boots and you’re good to go!

Anyone who really listens can feel the love that seems to rise out of the darkness that is “Reputation.” This album also has an interesting blend of dark colors and then also rainbows. haha. 1989 Eras Tour Outfit Ideas

This is one album that I LOVE, but the branding is kind of all over the place. The album cover is very coastal and serene with blue hues and seagulls, but the Tour looks are different with lots of sparkles and contrasting colors. And my favorite music video “Wildest Dreams” features the longest dress I’ve ever seen in a mustard yellow color. To distinguish this era–white sunglasses, crop tops, and/or a nude bodysuit with a million crystals will do.

Taylor Swift's brand new "The Eras" tour will be hitting stadiums in 2023 - here's exactly what to wear to the concert.

Taylor Swift's "The Eras" tour is kicking off in March 2023, and lucky concert-goers are already trying to figure out the perfect outfit to wear to honor one of Taylor's many musical eras.

"The Eras" U.S. tour will begin on March 17, 2023 and end on August 9th, 2023 . When tour starts it will have been around 5 years and 4 new albums (not including the re-recordings of her original songs) since Taylor's last tour, Reputation. That means there's lots of material to include, so Taylor's decision to dedicate a tour to all of her musical eras seems like a great idea! It's probably one of the many reasons the tour has completely sold out!

If you're one of the lucky ones going to the show, or you just want to participate in all the fun, we'll discuss Taylor's most memorable eras and exactly how to dress like Taylor Swift for the upcoming concert.

This post is all about taylor swift eras outfits.

What are taylor swift's eras.

Taylor Swift's eras are generally distinguished by each of her 10 studio albums:

• Taylor Swift (Debut)

"The Eras" tour will feature all of Taylor's musical eras. So far, she has released 10 studio albums (and 2 re-records of previous albums). She even announced the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) at one of her recent shows!

My sister, mom, and I have been Taylor Swift fans for a really long time. I remember when she very first started gaining traction, she came to my small town and performed Tim McGraw at our Christmas tree lighting. As a matter of fact, she was so new to the scene that we all were initially bummed because we thought the winner of American Idol was coming to town - Taylor Hicks! How funny.

It's been a crazy journey watching her grow. I remember when my sister and I would listen to her debut album in our CD player over and over. And Our Song being played at our middle school dance. And blasting Red in the car on the way to high school every day. And having 1989 as the soundtrack to my freshman year of college. And so on and so on!

So after being fans for so many years you would think we would have been to one of her many tours. Well, the truth is, we just never were able to make it/get tickets/etc. Life got in the way. So when she announced her "The Eras" tour, it only seemed appropriate we go to make up for all those years before - and try to get tickets to one of the hardest shows ever to get tickets for - one of the most coveted events of next year. Yikes.

Cut to all three of us desperately trying to get tickets on pre-sale day. No luck after waiting all day in queue. We decided to give it one more go during the Capital One pre-sale. All three of us logged in again and our mom somehow got through! We got our 3 tickets and got out of there! It was seriously all luck.

We are all super excited to go to the concert, and we know how lucky we are to be able to go. We want to go all out when it comes to our outfits because this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing! For those of you who didn't get tickets, believe me, we were almost there too. If you can't make it, throw your own concert party and have everyone dress up as a different Taylor Swift era. That's what we would do for sure.

Let's talk about Taylor's eras.

Taylor's debut album, "Taylor Swift" has smash hits like Teardrops on My Guitar, Tim McGraw, and Our Song. It has strong country influence and lyrical themes like adolescent love and relationships. Debut is a super nostalgic era for many, as it was the very beginning of Taylor Swift's musical journey. In this era, Taylor wore her hair in her natural curls, dresses, and cowgirl boots a lot.

This is probably one of her most "country" albums as Taylor eventually started to gain more pop influence in her songs over the years. Debut would be a great era to represent at "The Eras" tour because it's an iconic throwback - you'll be paying homage to the album that started it all.

Taylor's next album was Fearless, and it came out in 2008. It was similar to Debut in that it was a country album, but there was definitely some more pop influence. This album had songs like You Belong With Me, Fearless, and Love Story. It continued to explore young hopes and dreams as well as love.

I like to think of the Fearless era as more strong and confident than Debut. It's sort of like Debut but with more glitter. The Fearless Tour covered both Taylor's Fearless and Debut albums, so a lot of the tour had one overarching theme. That's why Fearless and Debut are often seen as related.

The tone of the album is also very much influenced by fairytales and romance.

3. Speak Now

Speak Now was Taylor's third studio album. It was released in 2010, following the large success of Fearless. It explored more mature themes of heartbreak, confusion, and reflecting on past loves. The album was inspired by all the things unsaid in her past relationships.

Speak Now also touched on some of Taylor's experiences in the spotlight as well as relationships with celebrities she was reported to have been dating at the time.

This era is a mix of the enchanted themes of Fearless and a more grown-up attitude. It has a lot of Taylor's original heartfelt storytelling with a little bit of a defined edge.

It is also regarded as Taylor's heartbreak era because the songs about the end of relationships are particularly powerful on this album.

Lover is Taylor Swift's 7th studio album. It featured songs like Lover, You Need To Calm Down, Me!, and The Man. The album was a departure from the darker themes of Reputation.

This era is generally regarded as her "cottagecore" era. The imagery is very natural and woodsy.

It’s arguably the event of the century: Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour . 

If you were fortunate enough to get an invite (ahem, battle through Ticketmaster’s seven layers of hell to acquire tickets ), the next most important question on your mind was likely: What on earth do I wear?

Thousands upon thousands of Swifties have cosplayed as the woman herself, styled their looks after one of her “eras,” or opted for a witty t-shirt and shorts in the name of comfort (we see you and we support you.)

But we’re here to set the record straight: The best outfit you can wear to the Eras Tour is one you already have. 

We know, it’s controversial. 

But think about it like this: You just spent an arm and a leg on tickets, and probably gas, lodging, and food to see Taylor in a nearby city, and you’re probably going to try your best to snag one of those navy blue sweatshirts at the merch stand.

Wearing something you already own — or thrifting and trading with fellow fans — is just the most economical and sustainable way to go. Plus, you don’t have to forego fashion to be eco-friendly. 

With so many online second hand retailers , Facebook groups, and “Taylor Thrift” events at local thrift stores , you’re bound to find something to help you “dress like a daydream.”

Two main buy-sell-trade Facebook groups that help Swifties find their perfect fit are “ Broke Swifties ” and “ Eras Tour Outfits ,” which have over 30,000 and 40,000 members, respectively.

Alyssa Monreal co-founded the Broke Swifties group with her friend and fellow Swiftie Gabriella Schoch, after they were eager to get their hands on the coveted “folklore cardigan” that sold out of Swift’s official merch shop.

“Somewhere along the lines, we just decided to create a community of our own,” Monreal said in a message to Good Good Good.

“We’ve seen people use it to connect with each other, as well as buy, sell, and trade. It’s honestly really fun to watch from behind the scenes.”

While the Broke Swifties group is full of fan-to-fan commerce for exclusive vinyls, collector’s items, and more, Monreal and the other admins decided to dedicate Mondays and Tuesdays as Eras Tour outfit-selling days because they saw such a demand for people looking to rehome their clothes.

“I recall seeing people specifically mentioning that they were doing what they could to be more sustainable for their outfit choices and wanting to be more thrifty,” Monreal said. “It has also definitely sparked debates about fast fashion, as well.” 

Similarly, the group rules in the Eras Tour Outfits group even include a rule that users cannot endorse fast fashion brand Shein . Rules also require members to sell their clothes for as close to retail price as possible — no price-gouging here!

“We are here to educate and protect one another,” the page reads. “Post what outfits you want to try and re-create or create for Taylor Swift's 2023 Eras Tour, show off what outfits you make once the tour starts, and sell what you've worn before to be loved and used again!”

In a world where the fashion industry causes so much damage to the planet , it’s refreshing to see fans (predominantly young women) pass down these garments, filled with so many meanings and memories, to protect the planet, and connect in community.

Other Sustainable Eras Tour Outfit Ideas

Shop from someone who has already been to the show..

Those Facebook groups we mentioned earlier are a great way to find trendy looks without shopping directly from a fast fashion retailer. 

Since many Eras Tour outfits are often ornate and sparkly — and not something you’d necessarily wear over and over again to work — extending the lifespan of a sparkly dress or a pair of leather pants is a great, sustainable way to shop for your concert outfit!

You can also try to host a clothing swap with friends or other community members if you want to try on different outfits IRL.

Repurpose something you already own.

If you already have a red scarf — boom, you are now “All Too Well (Ten Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault].” 

All jokes aside, there are so many ways you can repurpose something that’s already in your closet. Perhaps you dye a garment a different color, sew on some embellishments, or style it in a new way. 

Buy a sustainably-made item you will wear time and time again.

We totally understand that bug to buy something new for a special event. And it’s not off-limits! 

But consider buying something that will have a lifespan beyond the concert: An item that is ethically and sustainably made, can fit into a number of outfits that already exist in your wardrobe, and is durable and made to last. 

Maybe instead of a quick, sequined top, you can opt for a hand-sewn linen dress that can be dressed up with all kinds of fun jewelry in  your collection! Just because this show is a once-in-a-lifetime event doesn't mean wearing your outfit has to be.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon," Swift wrote on Instagram when she announced the film .
